First writing request!

This request is from @professor-zee-chamberlain​ who asks: “Hello!! I saw that you were taking MHA requests. Could you potentially write a wholesome Aizawa fic? Like a comfort type of thing? I hope all is well :)”

·         Pairing: Shota Aizawa x Gender Neutral!Reader

·         Genre/Warnings: Comfort, no warnings

·         Words: 794

·         Summary: A tough day lets you reflect on meeting your loved one. He comes home and comfort ensues.

             It seemed as if the day was just going to drag on forever. A quick glace up at the ticking clock on the wall confirmed the suspicion that, yes, one minute had passed since you last looked at the clock. A groan leaves your lips and you lower your head back into the open textbook on the table.

           At firs you had been optimistic about going back to college and finishing your degree. Everyone had hyped you up, saying that now you were well into your adult life, college classes would be a breeze. “Hah,” You muttered under your breath. “Yeah, just because I finished high school with A’s and immediately jumped into the workforce means that college will be easy when I’m older? Sureeee.” You mock, kicking your feet in frustration.

           You straighten with a groan and look back down at your textbook, the questions that you were supposed to be answering stared up at you from the pages, probably laughing at your stupidity. “I could just quit…” You sigh. “There’s no one telling me that I have to do this.” Except there was.

           You wanted to prove to yourself that you could actually do this. Originally it was fear all those years ago that stopped you from applying to college when you graduated high school. Fear that you would burn out and just quit everything. But how could you burn out if you never go at all? It worked for a while, having a routine and just going from work to home every day. Even if it was boring, it worked. Then you met him.

 -Flashback-

           Meeting Shota Aizawa had been an unexpected part of your routine. On the way to work one day, a villain attack had erupted in the streets, causing people to flee in every direction, mainly toward you. Had you been paying attention, you probably could have moved, but fate didn’t work that way. People had shoved you to the ground in their own haste to get away and you curled in a ball to hopefully shield yourself from the many hordes of people.

           Something grabbed you by the arm and pulled you across the ground quickly and into a side alleyway entrance. You looked up at the person who saved you and were shook by the appearance of the man before you. He almost looked homeless? Baggy clothes and messy hair coupled with scraggly facial hair had given you the impressions but when he spoke that though quickly went out of your mind. “Are you alright?” His deep, almost baritone voice drowned out the screaming of the people around you as the world seemed to stop. His eyebrow raised and he spoke again. “Hey, I asked if you were alright,” You shook yourself out of your stupor and quickly closed your gaping mouth. “Y-yeah. I’m okay.” He looked you over again and nodded before grasping a long cloth around his neck that you just now noticed.  He ran out into the crowd and you lost sight of him.

           You sat in place for another minute before shakily standing and peering out of the alleyway. To your dismay, your workplace across the street had been partially collapsed in the attack. “No work today I guess.” You say to yourself before joining the running crowd and going back home. You hadn’t realized however that in the jumble of confusion, you had left your bag behind. You also didn’t realize that him returning it to your apartment later would lead to a date, and many more after that.

           -End Flashback-

             Arms encircled you and you jumped in surprise. “Just me.” That familiar deep voice chuckled from behind you. “Shota! Don’t scare me like that!” You smack his arm lightly with your pencil. Turning around, you are greeted with a still scraggly face, but a face you love, nonetheless. “Sorry, it’s just too easy sometimes.” He places a small kiss to your cheek before walking over to the kitchen and starting to make a cup of coffee. You smile as you watch him.

           “Take a picture, it’ll last longer,”

           “Nah, I’d rather have the real thing,”

He walks back over to you with two cups of coffee, giving one to you before sitting beside you and glancing down at your work. “Rough day?” he asks, taking in your scattered scribbling and dark marks of the pencil writing harshly into the paper.

           “It’s better now that you’re here,” You reply, taking a sip of your coffee. You relax back into your seat, taking in the comforting feeling of having him beside you. Tough days were a given but knowing that he would be beside you no matter what, made it so much more manageable.

“I love you Shota,”

“I love you too,”

now, I've already said in the past that i’m not the biggest fan of sf assault fox bc out of all of them, he’s probably the most bland character in the whole game and my least fave version of fox (but I do like the fact he has the brown tips on his ears.... great design choice bring it bACK Nintendo)

now, I suppose I should balance this out and talk abt my fave fox, but the thing is I've got two faves: zero/starlink fox and itoh fox. but i'm going to talk abt zero/starlink fox for now, mostly starlink bc he's definitely my number one fave fox atm, and idk if that's... common? ik some ppl who don't like starlink's star fox plotline, at least with the base game (dlc makes it better) but it's usually bc of what wolf is doing. i don't see much talk abt fox, and that's a shame bc he's something ubisoft got 100% nailed for me.

I draw fox’s zero/starlink design the most, mostly bc it is easier for me to draw and... he’s one of my faves lol. ik ppl who don’t like fox being a good boy scout but personally I like the idea of a mercenary who doesn’t always take a job at the expense of it being immoral, it’s interesting for conflict purposes and it feeds into fox’s apparent self sacrificing idiocy and him having a hero-complex. and in zero, yes fox is on the side with the good guys, but would he have even reformed star fox if andross hadn't killed james? would he have gone all he way through academy and simply been a cornerian solider/pilot, if he wasn't so bent on defeating andross which would yes, save the lylat system, but also avenge his father? but starlink, they way he’s written makes me have heart eyes every single time I adore him in starlink, THAT’S a good fox right there. 

I love mike west’s voice for him, I really really do, more than jay zieja, who voiced fox in the battle begins. mike west’s voice, especially in starlink and zero, has this sort of arrogance to him, like “fuck yeah i’m fox mccloud” and I loooove how sharp his voice is, plus it’s a lower register, not a deep voice, but it’s a nice, sharp baritone, and I think it rlly suits fox and how he carries himself. the way he walks in starlink with his head up high, if he’s got confidence issues he’s faking it until he makes it. his voice is why I can never take any art or fanfics portraying fox as an “uwu soft babey uke (fuck I hate that word) boi” seriously, ever. please think abt any of that stuff, if you’ve seen it, and imagine whatever fox is saying in the art or the fic in mike west’s voice for him. 

but starlink fox... he’d punch me in the face and i’d thank him tbh.

fox not too long after they all get shot down and one of the first things he says is "gotta find the boys" HE CARES!!! HE LOVES HIS TEAM!!!! HE LOVES HIS TWO BEST FRIENDS AND HE LOVES HIS ADOPTIVE FATHER!!!!

and starlink fox has this aura of chill abt him, like, him saying "it was kinda funny" after peppy made a dad joke, and then later when slippy makes the comment abt peppy being a hotshot "back in the day" and peppy says "HEY!!" and fox LAUGHS!!! WOW GOOD MOMENTS TY UBISOFT FOR THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: FOX MCCLOUD HAS A BAD SENSE OF HUMOR. PERFECT also just?? more fox mccloud laughing pls?? i also thought the jokes were funny bc i also have a bad sense of humor bIJJjjaw

or fox's exasperated "becoming more like yer father, i know" god he's TIRED of that shit. but he can't be mad abt it, he can't be mad at peppy abt it bc yeah, he gets it, but the way he says "i know" so disappointed like...

also starlink fox saying his homeplanet/birth planet is papetoon, god bless america.

he's an absolute lad and i adore him with every fiber of my being. he is the fox mccloud i was introduced with, and he will always be my fox mccloud.

so @professor-zee-chamberlain mentioned a Pirate AU and NOW ITS TAKEN MY SOUL!!!!! God, it’s just so much fun and really different from what I usually do with these two! Plot-wise Yu was kidnapped at a young age by the crew of pirates she now works for, and they are a force to be reckoned with. Gus on the other hand works in the royal navy, mostly for bragging rights about fighting pirates. I imagine the two of them have run into each other before leading to quite the grudge. I’m hoping to doodle more of this because it’s such a delight!
