this dog came for foster with a horrifically shattered leg which had gone untreated and i fell in love with her instantly and i fought not to euthanise her for over 2 weeks even though she had heart disease and luxating patellas and aforementioned shattered leg and then they gave her to me on account of being in the vet industry and being able to provide her with everything she needs and i was the happiest person in the world for 48 hours until we went to surgery to fix her leg and she fucking carked it

#i named her judy #and she hated everyone in the world but me #understandably #she was so terribly mistreated #she didn't deserve any of it #and she died from aspiration under anaesthetic #a freak accident which had nothing to do with her pre existing ailments #out of 200 foster dogs i have only ever adopted one #and that was sweet boody bood 6 years ago #joody jood was meant to live out her days with me too #i loved her so very much #the vet who was doing her fracture repair said to me after she died #thank you for being her friend when she had none #i still cry #judy #fosters

3.11.23 The semester started at full speed and hasn’t slowed down since! I’ve been taking Statistics and R Studio, Oral Communication, Black Queer Media and Literature, and Organic Chemistry II. Who knew that I would read a poc lesbian vampire historical-fiction novel for an academic class? It’s called the Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez and I’m definitely enjoying it so far.

who do you think picked the q&a questions? they clearly scrolled so far and didn't choose based on the most likes. one of the questions had less than 10 views which knowing how twitter works was probably at the very bottom of the replies (2.9k replies!!!)

given how personal some of the questions were i would be suprised if it wasn't dan and/or phil themselves. i don't see someone else putting dan on the spot to answer the sister daniel q in a livestream. so my guess would be a mix of both of them. i thought the variety was pretty good!

no matter how many times you see it there is something about birth that genuinely touches you. Seeing that new being. Seeing it move for the first time. Still and comatose and then suddenly moving and alive. It’s brought me close to tears every time. Overcome with emotions and knowing that you were here. You were one of the first things this life ever saw. This little thing will go one and see so much but you were there. You were there to dry them off and welcome them to the world, watch them take their first steps. It’s not something you get used to. It never becomes just part of the job.

Any vets out there that took a non-traditional path? I'm thinking of taking a few years in-between to finish a few classes and gain experience.

a/n: I'll do something with this scene, for sure. Posting for now b/c I like the simplicity of it & rebuilding AoT's mythos is a lot trickier than depicting simple, emotional drama. once again shoutout to @lunarcrystal for these indomitable brainworms, you rock.

Her fist caught him on the mouth, knocked his head back. She got on top of him, fist in his shirt where she'd cut her knuckles. This was less than what he deserved. To see him spitting up blood and unable to explode in on himself, designated to the same human frailty as anyone else, you selfish son of a bitch, I thought you were dead—

Breathing hard, despite the lack of exertion. Eren, wide-eyed and silent. Trickle of blood from his lip, split. She lowered her fists, bowing down and sinking her teeth into the wound. He took her face in his hands and answered with the rapacious fever of a man ready to die. She threaded fingers through his unkempt hair, her tongue slashing against teeth. He grabbed her chin and slid his tongue into her mouth. They could only get so close without trying to devour each other.

Inevitably, Eren pushed her back. Inhaling, exhaling, as if he could redirect some blood to his brain. She stood up while he looked around for the crutch, at last hoisting himself to sit on the edge of the mattress, shoulders tense.

“After you left,” he said, “I used to dream about you. What I'd say, if I could.”

“That was a long time ago,” she intoned. Eren smiled in a way that didn’t touch his eyes. He wasn't looking at her directly. “You still don’t know how to talk to girls.”

He rolled his shoulders. “You could teach me.”

Annie said, “You’re out of your mind.”

Eren studied her, impassive. A far cry from the cadet of fifteen who couldn’t stop running his mouth.

“I’m out of my mind, that much is true.” He stared at the blood on her mouth. “Most days I wake up and try to convince myself I’ve always lived in this tenement. Perhaps, in such a life, I could have met you. We’d take a train out of Liberio, somewhere nicer, where we could just—talk.” Averting his eyes to a spot beside her head, a slight catch in his voice. “But it won’t change anything, will it?”

And a rat euthanasia/cremation, though that's not scheduled yet. But Sauce's tumor is the size of an egg now :/
