Chapter 116 - Colt

Colt sat in the limo looking out of the window and the bank. "So this is it?" He asked, looking back towards Alice.

"Just go in, take out the champions, and get what the fuck we came for," Alice said, casually filing her nails.

"And what am I here to steal again?"

"She said you'd know it when you see it."

Colt got out of the limo and closed the door behind him. As he walked towards the door, he made eye contact with the guard at the front door. The guard seemed mesmerized by his suit as Colt passed him. Two women in large dresses were also amazed by his suit, but instead of staring at it, they gave Colt flirtatious smiles. "How rich do you think he is?" One of them said, before getting in a carriage.

When Colt was passed the threshold a short, bald, man in a gray suit greeted him. "Welcome, I am Savant, and this is the Fist National Bank of Poshville. I am the bank's manager, how may I help you?"

Colt smiled. "My name is Colt Maxwell," Colt said, straightening his suit. "I have some items i want put away for reasons I'm not allowed to discuss. May I see your vault?"

"Why certainly sir," Savant said, happily. "Your reasons our your own, but I'm afraid we will need to inspect the items first. Company policy, you understand?"

"Sure," Colt said, shrugging.

With a wave of his hand, Colt reach into his vault in the Shadow Realm and pulled out a single black chest. Colt opened the chest and show the contents to Savant and all the color drained from his face. "Is that what I think it is?" Savant asked, his hands reaching for the chest.

Colt slammed the chest shut. "Yes, it's a dragon egg. It's very old, and still very much alive."

From the looks two elderly men gave Colt as they passed him, they heard what he had said. "Right away," Savant said, putting a hand on back and ushering him forward.

Savant escorted Colt passed the bank tellers, through a metal door guarded by two muscular Valkyries, and down a narrow wooden hallway. "If you don't mind me prying," Savant said. "Who is your designer, and where might I find a suit such as this?"

The amazed look in Savant's eyes made Colt feel proud even though he knew it was the suit doing most of the work. "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."

"Oh," Savant said, slightly saddened. "I suppose you're right."

At the end of the hall, Colt followed Savant left down a wide hallway with a tile floor. "Ah, there they are," Savan said, motion his forward. "Our esteemed guards."

At the end of the hallway stood a man with a composite bow, and a woman with a long staff. Colt looked at them, they looked at eachother, and they all knew what was about to happen. Ten minutes later, Colt climbed into the back of the limo and tossed Alice the small velvet covered box. She opened it and scoffed. "All this for a lousy ass ring. What's so special about it?"

"It's a memory bank. It's filled with memories all pertaining a certain family. I stole a couple of the good ones."

Alice hand the velvet box to the bearded elf and he put it a small sparkling red purse. "Which ones?" Alice asked, looking at him questioningly.

Colt leaned back in his seat and loosened his jacket. "Locations, to safe houses, burried treasure, sunken ships, and all of the family vaults."

"Good," Alice said. "I was starting to doubt you were my actual brother."

Colt sat there relaxing as the limo took to the air and began to fly towards their destination. An hour later they landed in gravel driveway of a large mansion. "Okay," Alice said. "We're supposed to be married, so act like it, and let's try and get through this without puking."

"Couldn't have said it better myself," Colt said, opening the door and stepping outside.

Colt held out a hand and helped Alice out of the limo the way he assumed a gentleman would do. Colt linked his arm with Alice's and they began to walk down a tile pathway, through a grape vineyard, and up a massive staircase. At the top of the staircase, Colt could see a hefty woman watching them. "Act happy," Alice said.

"'Act happy?'" Colt asked, confused. "You're so lucky I'm the one here with you."

"And why is that?" Alice said, elbowing him in the ribs.

"Because I'm actually married, Idiot. When you invite people over to your place, you spruce it up. These tiles are brand new, and there's a bird fountain to our left that's also brand new, but half finished."

Alice looked down at the floor and then past Colt. "Son of a bitch, you're right."

Colt climbed over the staircases railing, and then helped Alice over it. "I have a lot to teach you about being married."
