Hiiii! I just adopted a little baby sprigatito recently! Any tips to make her environment more comfortable or fun?

aww, i love a little spriggy! they're such good starters. sprigatito are playful little guys who love sunbathing and frolicking in the grass. i highly recommend harness training so your little girl can get some fresh air and sunshine!

some other ideas for enrichment and care: a little windowsill garden with pokemon-safe plants she can chew on; dried herbs hidden in treat balls or small containers; a shallow soaking pan to water her grassy fur in; toys made of dried moss and vine; or a basking area with a sun lamp and dried or fresh flowers for her to smell!

TWISTED WONDERLAND X POKEMON

Litleo MC's Pouncing Lesson

You stayed low to the ground with a smirk on your face, tail swishing back and forth, eyes trained on a really small green bug type as it jumps from one rock to another.

It was another week for NRC but with rumours about Riddle overbloting in Heartslabyul and you involving in it but after the retake of the Unbirthday Party, the past few days for you and the students of the school had it kinda normal...for now and just continue on of what they were doing.

Leona being one of them.

Though he still has to look after you considering it's his turn to look after you you, much to he's irritation but didnt complain and not just go for it (atleast you arent THAT annoying as he's nephew) which is why you two are now in the botanical gardens with you pouncing towards the cricket and Leona sleeping in one of the benches, waiting on your lunches that Ruggie will bring.

As you kept pouncing from one spot to another to try to get the small bug-type, a familiar voice reach to your ears.

"Leona! I'm back with Lunch!"

Leona grudgingly blinked he's eyes as he sit up from he's nap "Grr...already afternoon?"

Ruggie huffed when he stood infront of he's Dorm Leader "Were you by chance sleeping here all morning? You're gonna fail another class"

You perked up with a smile on your face when you saw the Mightyena-like beastman running towards you two with the lunch he had got.

"Ruggie! Your here!" The said 2nd year snickered, ruffling your hair between your ears as he hold out your own lunch that Professor Crewel had order him to bring, which is consisted of chicken nuggets and some apple slices "Yep, and I gotten your lunch" you smiled brightly and took the small bag out of he's hands "Thank you Ruggie!".

"Oh? Smell like you gotten mine aswell" Leona stated when he smell the food that he had ordered Ruggie to get "Ugh" the Hyena beastman groaned in the mention of the Lion's food, always having to get the hard ones to get "Leona, you always want the stuff thats the most competitive" Ruggie stated "Heres your order of one Deluxe menchi katsu sandwhich and Ice tea"

"Thats a weird name" You gave a questioning look at the foreign words that Ruggie had said.

"Well we have weird lion here cub, so whats your point?" Leona glared at the snickering 2nd year "Tch, keep running that mouth Ruggie or you know what is coming for ya and Cub, get going, we adults here have a talk"

You blew a raspberry at him but quickly run away towards a grassy area of the gardens with a grin at your face when Leona tries to swipe you with he's "claws". The beastman here were really are different from your home world, since they dont exactly have claws like you, your family and some of your friends have but the students in the dorm you reside in definetly felt like how your siblings would have a pokemon battles.

Leona click he's tongue "and better stay near where I can see ya!"

"Wow" Ruggie drawled out "I never thought you would care about the cub, Leona. What? Got a soft spot or something?" A sneer on the Dorm Leader said otherwise "Stupid, as if I have a soft spot for anyone like you, especielly you should that the more difficult it is to get something, the more you want to eat it" stated factly, the Lion Prince as he took a bite out of he's lunch.

As the two kept on rambling on and on, You decided to finish your lunch later as you kept on trying to find the little Bug-type when you had saw it hopping by when you were eating. These bug-type sure are small compare to the ones back at home, so tiny in your hands that they could fit in a jar or even your pockets.

This world sure is weird, for sure.

But anyway, time to get pouncing!

Leona let out a yawn when Ruggie kept going on and on about him having to go to the meeting after school, giving him lengthy reasons like that he is obviously dorm leader and that he got nice perks because of that. He was about to go back to sleep until he saw you not that far.

'Huh, atleast she aint far' the 2nd prince simply thought "Oi Cub" You look up from your close hands when being called "Yes Mister Pyroar?".

'Again, whats a Pyroar?' Leona furrowed he's brows but brushed it off like what he had done before whenever you called him that nickname "What are you doing?" He asked you "Pouncing" It was a simple reply that you have gave to the older Lion as you open up your jands to see if you have caught the Grasshopper but quickly deflated when you didnt see it in your grasp.

The sight instantly have an expression of amusement at your little pathetic attempts. Beastman may not exactly hunt but they do knew how through their life to help their animal instincts and with the way he is seeing you pouncing, Leona cant help but find it pathetic for you were still seen from the tall grass, making small but noticeable noises and was just jumping too quickly.

Yet....

Leona took a single glance at the still talking Ruggie and have gotten an idea.

"Hmm...come here Cub" the 3rd year motion you to come over quietly "Let me show you how an old-pro how its done" he whispered wickedly as he position both you and him behind a thick curtain of tall grass to prevant from being seen.

"- and as Dorm Leader, you have to show that you have earn it-

A smirk quickly went to Leona's face as he lowered your bottom and tail down more to help in keeping stealth "Just stay low to the ground..." you nodded to he's advice "okay, stay low to the ground, right?".

"- not to mention how many of the members in our dorm are quite rowyd to control and-"

"Try not to make a sound" both you and Leona deepend your hiding from any eyes what so ever.

"-So thats why you must-Leona? Leona?" Just realizing that Leona is no where in sight, Ruggie quickly turn around and look around to see if he's lazy dorm leader is still here but he too soon found out that the little Litleo is gone aswell "Leona? Where are you?! Cub!?".

"This aint funny you knew!?" Using he's heighten hearing, the 2nd year tries to hear any sounds from he's two dorm mates "Leona!? Cub!?"

And that is the reason why yoh shouldnt turn your back on a lion.

*Bam!*

"AAAAAAHHHH!!"

"Hahahahahahahahahhaha!!" Leona's laughter echoed across the garden as you smiled proudly at your accomplishment at getting your "prey".

"Ugh..." groaned Ruggie from the pain he had gotten from being pounced by a small yet very strong kid who is a beastman of a species unknown to him and everyone else here in Twisted Wonderland.

"Hahahahahaha! That was good, little Cub, very good" you trotted happily off of your "prey" as you stood beside Leona with a pride look on your face.

Happy that you had pass your first lesson in pouncing.

Maybe having the little Cub might be fun after all...

oooh I've already thought about this quite a bit! my sonas are pretty much all part of my headworlds so I've thought about where they'd live. I have quite a few so I'll just include my mains and some secondary sonas.

Clover (main sona) - one-story townhouse in desert suburbia, sliding glass door to a grassy fenced-in backyard with a little garden, marble-top bar separating the kitchen and living room has quite a few potted succulents in colorful pots. Lots of fun little pops of retro and rainbow colors. They'd have shelves full of their Pokemon collection and consoles to play games. Yoga mat + weights for working out too. and their bedroom is dim and cozy with a big quilted loft bed and a big desk for work/gaming/streaming. and their comfort stuffed animals, fairy lights, etc

Raven (halloween sona / glitched clone of Clover) - apartment in autumn town, Halloween meets gamer decor. Blacks and dark greys, hanging Halloween decorations, lots of posters of alt & rock bands, cryptozoology and UFO stuff. their ADHD and sensory issues get the best of them so it's dim-lit and messy, they're also the type for beanbags and have a big flatscreen for gaming 

Maximilian (alt main sona) - old-timey but nice apartment in a cozy town! lots of browns and sepia tones, probably have a nice fabric armchair and lots of books. big windows with thick draping curtains, vintage decor, a writing nook with a typewriter

Coffee - a small hut on a tall rock spire over the ocean, connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge. they spend most of their time away from home so it's mostly a storage for their art supplies, canvases, trinkets etc. probably have some cute flags, garlands and windchimes hanging outside

Rainbow - lighthouse cabin with pre-modern retro feel. lots of open space, tables for mail and stationary, lots of natural light, couch, rainbows painted on the walls, vivid circle rugs. their kitchen cabinets are definitely painted in colorblocks, maybe some kitschy stuff in there

An interest in collecting and rearing small organisms is truly the real-life Pokemon experience. There’s literally just one stretch of sidewalk I always know is the hotspot for tiny garden snails when it is over 40f and damp outside. There’s just one lake where every few scoops of sunken, rotten leaves yields like 100 pond snails but just one snail-eating leech. The lake has too many fish and birds for me to find a lot of tiny, swimming crustaceans but a loosely connected grassy pond a ways down is teeming with seed shrimp in the summer, daphnia in the fall, and copepods in the winter. On only the brief window of both wet and hot weather each year I can find carnivorous subterranean slugs but they are most abundant, for some reason, at one particular apartment complex I discovered back when I was doing food deliveries. 30 minutes into the mountains is a vernal pool, what most people would just call a “rain puddle” in what’s almost just a parking lot, but there’s no easier place for me to find caddisfly larva and another kind of seed shrimp.

How to care for the Bulbasaur Line

Evolution Method: Battle Experience

Bulbasaur is a reptilian botanical Pokemon of the grass and poison typing. One of the three Kanto starters, Bulbasaur is said to be the most easy going of the bunch. Indeed, it is a very calm and level headed Pokemon, though sometimes stubborn. They have a high amount of empathy for baby Pokémon and humans, often seen taking care of other species and singing what has been nicknamed the "bulba-by" while rocking crying babies of all species to sleep with their dextrous vines. Despite its naturally patient nature, trainers are advised to remember that these Pokémon are a poison type and can discharge noxious or paralyzing spores when annoyed or if they feel uncomfortable.

A healthy member of this line will have a firm bulb (if Bulbasaur) or nice green leaves and bright flowers without signs of rot or withering. They absolutely require sunlight daily as this is their main form of nourishment. A hardy Pokémon, they can handle colder climates better than many grass types and should be given time outside to sunbathe daily. There should be places for them to find shade as well to prevent burning their bulbs or leaves from overexposure. Their diets should be supplemented with omnivorous Pokemon food. Bulbasaur should be given the option of insects as well for protein. As they age, they eat less physical food and rely more on sunlight. Trainers sometimes show concern over their Venusaur's inactivity during the day, but should be reassured that this is normal behavior and that they require a lot of sunlight for their large bodies to have enough energy.

The natural habitat of the Bulbasaur line are large grassy plains, thus these Pokemon require a lot of space. Even unevolved Bulbasaur can grow quite large, and Venusaur are known to migrate throughout the day to find the best spots to sunbathe. Normally living in large family groups in the wild, they are content to be only Pokémon as well.

Bulbasaur is born with a seed implanted into its back. This seed is what they use to absorb nutrients from the sun to keep the Pokémon healthy and thriving. While the Bulbasaur line can (and should) occasionally eat food to supplement their diets, they mainly feed via photosynthesis. For the first few weeks of a Bulbasaur's life, they will mainly sleep in the sun and not eat any solid foods and need to be watered via a spray bottle, as their digestive systems are not yet fully developed. Baby Bulbasaur are fully reliant on their caretakers to survive.

When ready to evolve, Bulbasaur’s seed will begin to faintly glow blue. They need to find a place with a high amount of sunlight to sleep for a long period of time to prepare for evolution. Ivysaur do the same when preparing for their own evolutions. In the wild, large groups of Bulbasaur Ivysaur and Venusaur will gather together to support their evolving brethren and protect them from any dangers while they gather energy to evolve.

After evolving, Ivysaur become much heavier due to the large bud on its back that has bloomed from their seed. Though capable of standing on their hind legs, they slowly lose this ability as they grow older and the bud becomes bigger. This makes their legs extremely muscular and sturdy. When close to evolution, the bud on their back will swell and give off a sweet aroma.

Venusaur’s flower gives off a scent that is soothing to both Pokémon and humans, and is often used as a therapy Pokémon or as guardians of gardens. It is a large and defensively strong Pokémon, and it is recommended that rookie trainers keep their Bulbasaur unevolved until they have the proper know-how to care for such a large Pokémon. Despite this, they are probably one of the best Pokémon for beginner trainers due to their personalities and hundreds of years of domestication in order to become starters.

Every time I find myself I feel so lost And every truth that I discover feels so false And every mountain that I climb that seems so tall It only felt that way 'cause the valley was so small... (x)

When he’s not making his boisterous pitches to Jubilife Village or dropping off parcels for the Gingko Guild, Barry always seems to end up back here, lured close like a curious Mothim to a flame: the Temple of Sinnoh.

As always, the blond runs his gloved hand reverently over the Pokemon statues at the monument’s base, taking special care to knock any lingering snow or ice loose from their stony visages. And then, as always, he begins to scale the Temple’s winter-scarred steps, a strange, powerful energy thrumming beneath his boots. The climb itself isn’t difficult for the active merchant, but as he nears the summit, distant visions--like wisps of smoke--begin to cloud Barry’s memories, only to frustratingly vanish into thin air before he can even make sense of the disjointed fragments. They blink into his mind’s eye with such speed, providing flickering flashes of a place seemingly far away from Hisui...but oh so familiar at the same time. Barry’s boots are lodged in a marshland. Flash. Barry’s strolling around a manicured garden. Flash.

Barry’s laying on a grassy lakeshore, staring contentedly up at the stars with...

Flash. Gone, and onto the next incomplete thought, and then the next. In some ways, this is torturous...but he just has to know. 

What are these memories? Why is this happening to him? Why here, of all places? 

What does this all mean?

Reaching the monument’s peak, Barry takes a few more steps before laying down between the towering columns, vigorously messaging his own temples, hoping to dislodge just one elusive answer free from his jumbled thoughts... 

There are hints, of course. New arrivals--fallers--are starting to appear with greater regularity all throughout Hisui, with some raving about the lives that they seemingly left behind, some with full knowledge of their origins. Barry craves such clarity, but Sinnoh hasn’t granted him such a gift yet, dangles it out of his reach. No, when Barry thinks back to a life before he woke up in the Fieldlands, it’s like trying to navigate an impenetrable fog. Not knowing hasn’t bothered him one bit before, but now, with these mysterious half-recollections swarming his mind atop the Temple, he’s worried. Am I supposed to be here? Who did I leave behind?

Barry looks around at his windswept surroundings, causing yet another memory to flash into momentary view. He’s battled here before, battled evil with his back pressed up against...who? Why was he fighting? Gone. The poor blond puts his head in his hands with a groan, pulling his green scarf tighter around his neck...and then, he sees it. A faded message scrawled on the back of the fabric’s tattered tag, barely visible...

- Barry, be strong out there, son!! Love, MOM. -  

...Mom?

Why is he crying now? 

He blinks hard, dabs at his hazel eyes, and fully expects the message to disappear (another cruel trick)...but it doesn’t. And suddenly, Barry feels very tired. This...this is all too much for today. Maybe the message is a prank, or maybe it’s some secondhand scarf from another Barry in Hisui. Even so, the merchant makes sure his scarf is extra secure before rising to his feet again. The Hisuian sun--cold and ruby red--is dipping below the horizon again, signifying that Barry should head back to safety before falling victim to the region’s unforgiving climate. 

The other Guildsmembers don’t need to know about this--it’s a personal battle, and Barry feels like he’s gotten one step closer to victory today...victory in the form of clarity. So, he’ll be back, but in the meantime, Barry is happy to return to a Gingko Guild feast by a roaring campfire. Maybe Volo will even make a rare appearance tonight.

He sniffles and looks back at the Temple’s expanse once more before starting his descent. Despite these swirling memories and mysteries, Hisui is still his home. 

...Right?

Should one wish to take on the Zenohs league, they will need to know where to find each Gym Leader, as well as what Pokemon they can expect to face. Below is a short description of each leader, as well as a detailed guide of how to prepare for each battle.

Dunban - Bug Type Gym Leader of Stonefly Town

The start of the league is not one to be feared, as Dunban is well known to gauge the skill of his challengers before picking his team. He works in search and rescue, however, and this can make the hours of the Gym uncertain at best.

Full-time Lifeguard and part-type gym leader, Sharla is a no-nonsense woman. While not as careful when choosing her team, her passion in battle makes her a worthy step up from Dunban. Her gym is located near the beachfront of the city.

uh cw for mentioning dead parents ig. there's a lot of dead parent stuff here sorry

- steven is asexual and aromantic. he discovered this a bit "late" when he was about 20 years old. despite his high profile in hoenn, he isn't very open about his sexuality and has only come out to a handful of close friends, the first being wallace. it was also wallace who gave him the black ring he wears.

- steven is half galarian on his mother's side. he would often visit the region with her before she died, and steven has very fond memories of watching gym matches: those battles are what inspired him to become a pokemon trainer along with his mother having been one herself in galar before she moved to hoenn. his favorite place in galar is wyndon city and he loves finding any excuse to hop aboard the trains scattered throughout the region to see all the unique scenery pass by and collect rare new stones for his collection.

- he adores space and astronomy! when he can't sleep he'll go outside and look at the stars until he eventually dozes off. this also led him to look into the mythology behind the constellations he sees, and he's had a few passionate conversations with cynthia about pokemon mythology.

- when nervous, steven tends to bite his nails. this has led to many scoldings and impromptu manicure sessions from wallace!

- his biggest fear is ghost type pokemon as he hates thinking about the concept of death. he also dislikes very strong thunderstorms, and being left alone for long amounts of time.

- as a result of his pampered childhood, steven is a bit of an attention seeker. he tends to get fussy and impatient when nobody acknowledges or listens to him. there was an isolated incident of steven throwing a pebble he had in his pocket at someone to make them pay attention when he was at his limit.

- likewise, he absolutely hates getting dirty when he's not caving. a single blemish of dirt on his nice clothes will drive him mad. he hates being disorganized and is a bit of a clean freak.

- he's a big contest fanboy! if a day off and a contest line up on the same day, expect to see steven somewhere in the audience cheering the coordinators on.

- steven and his father have a rocky relationship ever since his mother died. steven always wanted to become a pokemon trainer like his mother, but his father wanted him to take over the devon corporation one day. this unwanted pressure from his father ultimately led to steven running away from home to pursue his dreams when he was 14. now, they're still on speaking terms, but that's not to say steven looks forward to and enjoys their conversations. things only got worse when steven came out to his father and was brushed off as "going through a phase". despite everything, steven one day wishes to reconcile with his father and hopes that they can be as close as they were before his mother died.

- the one thing steven regrets most is never saying goodbye to his mother. the last thing he told her was "see you tomorrow!" before she died the very next day

- he met wallace during the time he ran away from home. the two met in lilycove city, where wallace was practicing for a contest and steven happened to be in the city. steven was intrigued by wallace's skills and ability to charm him with his pokemon. the first thing steven said to wallace was a compliment about his pokemon and the two decided to spend the day hanging out. they've been best friends ever since, and steven tends to see wallace as the big brother he never had and his main source of advice.

- he loves to write, whether it's journalling or taking notes about the rare stones he finds. however, he uses the same notebook for everything so his journal entries are often bordered by crammed-in notes about rocks. good luck reading anything, though: he has very small and cursive handwriting.

- steven is a disaster in the kitchen. the only thing he can make without any risk of burning his house down is a cup of tea.

- he's a big nature lover! in contrast to his sheltered life as the son of the ceo of a big business, he enjoys looking at flower gardens and finds any chance he can to lay down on a grassy hill and let the world move by without a care.

- he enjoys classical music and can play the flute!

- due to how he grew up without many real friends as a kid, steven tends to act a bit childish in personal social situations. he'll simply say whatever's on his mind without thinking twice and randomly cut in whenever someone else is speaking. not to mention he's terrible at holding eye contact. more "professional" conversations are where he shines as his parents taught him everything about etiquette.

- steven is polite to a fault: he usually has trouble telling people no and doesn't like to intrude on other people's conversations even if he was invited to such a conversation. it can make normal small talk awkward for both parties.

- his favorite place in hoenn is sootopolis city. he adores being surrounded by history while chatting with wallace at a local cafe, not to mention taking in the beautiful scenery at night.

- clear, sunny days are his favorites. when he travels to a colder region and gets caught in a sudden snowfall, he likes to watch it snow as it's an extreme rarity in hoenn.

- he loves to read and often wears a pair of reading glasses when he finds the time to open a book.

- steven carries a few special items with him wherever he goes: these include his key stone, the first gym badge he ever earned, an old pocket knife that belonged to his mother, and his mother's galar gym challenge league card.

- he's great at various card games. it's best to cut your losses if you make a bet with steven and he pulls out a deck of cards!

- it's easy to tell if steven is lying: he'll always rock back on his heels and bite his lower lip when doing so. using this knowledge is limited however, as steven doesn't tend to lie very often.

- his favorite food is galarian curry, especially the kind his mother used to make. he also enjoys sampling the cuisine from other regions, especially kalos. when it's time for dessert, he'll never pass up: he's got a bit of a sweet tooth!

- steven is a very laid-back person and hardly anything can really upset him. he tends to laugh off any embarrassing blunders he makes and will sometimes make small quips and jokes at his own expense. however, saying anything bad about the devon corporation will cause him to go on a profane offense, a bit ironic considering his odd and shaky relationship with the company.

- steven wears his jacket everywhere he goes. he's always complaining about being cold and it baffles everyone how he can keep wearing his blazer even in the dead heat of hoenn's summers. since he's always freezing, you can often find him at home wrapped in the fluffiest blanket he owns near the fire.

- even though he's champion of hoenn, steven still feels like he's working towards his initial dream of making his mother proud. he really only sees his championship title as one of many steps he still wants to take to live the life and dreams his mother hoped he would achieve!
