Son bonheur les dérangeait, irritant leur ennui quotidien. Alors, ils la traitaient de naïve, d’égoïste, de sensible-fragile. S’acharnant avec des commérages dont la conséquence fût Désespoir et Orage. Car mot après mot, ils aimaient se réunir pour faire la danse de la pluie provoquant ainsi sa tristesse infinie. Le pire dans tout cela, c’est qu’après avoir été acteurs de son malheur, ces sadiques s’amusaient toujours à conclure par un « je te l’avais bien dit ».

As we are all Thinking About Dracula, I feel a deep need to remind you of this historical fact that never leaves my mind: Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde were childhood friends.
I think about their conjoined lives so much. Bram Stoker heard Irish fairy tales directly from Oscar's mom. Said mom raised Oscar as a girl for the first 10 or so years of his life because she wanted a daughter. they fell in love with the same girl on college. One of them married her. They kept being good friends. Bram was completely silent when Wilde was found guilty of Sodomy, but we have little notes and letters indicating they kept being close friends well into their adult lives. Bram started writing Dracula a month after Wilde was condemned. Why haven't I seen 15 indie historical media of varying levels of queerness based on these two yet
