watching analysis videos about the newer 3d pokemon games (main series) and getting really depressed because like all games series nowadays it's about quantity over quality now and i know everyone is saying the same thing it's just very sad to see coming from probably my all time favorite game series

#like b/w was around the time where i started to grow out of it a little bit #not like how gens 3 and 4 had a chokehold on my life #it wasn't as memorable to me but i still really enjoyed it and i've played through it numerous times #once xy came out i only managed to play through it once or maybe twice #and even then it was kind of a slog to get through #i was super excited for oras because hoenn is my fav region but even then i played it once and never again #i didn't even make it halfway through pkmn moon i really couldn't #it's just SO handholdy and linear i felt like i was just perpetually going through the tutorial #i realized that in the older games there's SO much more to discover and explore you just have to seek it out #now it's just going from one city to the next with nothing interesting in between #i couldn't tell you a single notable thing from pokemon moon i felt like there was nothing to do #besides go to the next gym challenge or whatever they were #ANYWAY rant over basically i am disappointed in the state of the real and virtual world !

been cosigned by the bi women in my life to say this but i think the whole ‘bi women are 100000x more likely to be victims of partner abuse’ thing gets...almost victim blamey if u think abt it too hard. do we believe that there are men who are totally fine to date as a straight woman but if you’re bi they become Abusers or are we just avoiding thinking too hard about the reality of dating a guy who would hypothetically be beating u if u were bi. are we saying the abuse happens because they’re bi? anyway the elephant in the room is that we’re talking about self-reported statistics here and bi women are more likely to be feminists and informed about consent and coercion and so on in order to RECOGNISE abuse. meanwhile a majority of straight women don’t even believe in marital rape and we know a lot about the lengths people can go to avoid labelling what they experienced/are experiencing as abuse. + DUH sexuality is self reported too so of course going through abuse at the hands of men can be a factor in a woman unpacking compulsory heterosexuality and realising she isn’t straight.

i think it’s important because in one narrative, victim-blaming myths about IPV are subtly reinforced in the name of advocating for bi women while the other recognises that abuse can happen to anyone but bi women are informed and autonomous and not just helpless victims with no choice but to play dating life russian roulette

i don't trust anyone that had a good time in middle school. it's a hellish first encounter of what's on the other side of childhood and designed to be a period of adjustment; it's not supposed to be comfortable. if you enjoyed being in seventh grade something is fundamentally wrong with you, and i'm like an animal sensing another animal has rabies or something. don't come any closer or i'll attack.

#in seventh grade i had no friends and was obsessed with learning this fictional language that was created for the myst game universe #they had all the grammar and stuff online and i contacted the guy who invented the language and asked him specific questions #and he answered me every time so i had this whole binder of language lessons straight from him #to this day i hold that guy close to my heart and keep up with his work bc he really came thru for me when i needed someone #he listened at a time when i felt very unheard and made me feel like i mattered and that was important even if it was just about a dumb #game bc it wasn't about that it was about someone telling me i'm not alone after all and there are other people like me out there #and that helped me see beyond the very small world of seventh grade into a greater future that contained possibilities for happiness #and it also made me realize that the internet could help me find and connect with people over even the most obscure fascinations #which was huge for me bc i had mostly been using the internet to print sailor moon pictures and spam chat rooms with #shakespeare monologues bc kids are annoying on the internet and i was weird but i was still a kid #anyway first date question: how do you feel about the seventh grade experience? this reveals so much about a person so quickly #i'm brilliant follow me for more excellent life advice i post unedited as it occurs to me in real time #personal

What Daigo persona arcane 👀👀👀👀

DEFINITLY want to call Strength for Daigo: the Strength arcana is indicative not so much of someone’s physical strength, but by the strength of their character and willingness to pursue a goal by their own means. Not so much ruling with brute force, but through humanity, determination, charisma, and patience. The Strength arcana also calls back to Daigo’s prior hedonistic tendencies: just as the woman on the card was able to tame the beast, he was able to find the strength to suppress and tame his bad habits and attitude to properly lead the Tojo. Especially through his RGGO character story, we see Daigo transition from trying to obtain respect through violence and forced authority to him having the resolve to stick to his own methods and morals when leading, making the Strength arcana the perfect fit for him.

Shoot me down for this one but I’m honestly leaning towards Devil, in a twist of irony: while those associated with the Devil can be characterized as acting selfish, violent, impulsive, and with promiscuity, that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s all their character is. Although they act near-exclusively for themselves and as freely as they wish, those of the Devil arcana are not only able to wholly dedicate themselves to particular causes, but to people as well; the Devil arcana, despite their inward-and-outwardly destructive tendencies, can still commit themselves to others they find worthwhile (though this doesn’t mean they’re exactly the most social of people in general). When it comes to the things and people they care about, they possess well-meaning and wholesome reasons for acting in that object’s name. Those of the Devil arcana also tend to struggle with forgoing unhealthy influences and habits in their lives, wherein Sagawa and other Y0 cast members namely comes to mind in terms of Majima and his character. Post-Y0 is when Majima really starts to embrace the Devil arcana in this aspect once he’s able to separate himself and act more independently.
