Mindfront: A term for plurals, derivative of "mindform", denoting a system member's status as "in front" within the mind/their mental form, but not necessarily externally, bodily fronting. Many subsystems share a mental form or other inherent connection, and switch between whom is most aware in that subsystem without any effect on bodily front. This is intended for these members and any others that could utilize the concept of "fronting within the mind/headspace".

ex. A system consists of Host A and Subsystem B, with two members. Host A is in front, and Subsystem B is in headspace, with Subsystem member B1 doing things out of bodily front. B1 is mindfronting in their mental form. B1 encounters something their subsystem member enjoys within headspace, so member B2 switches to mindfront and continues headspace activities. Host A may or may not be aware of this; mindfronting generally has no inherent connection with bodily front.

Bodyic / Bodic

[PT: Bodyic / Bodic]

A term in which the body has a identity relating to [thing] or identifies with/as [thing] in a way that affects the system, even though it's not a collective identity

Bodyic is inspired by plurid [link] by @ix-c-999, and is intended to be a counterpart term for plurals who's body has a separate identity to the collective identity in someway (EG: gender, orientation, alterhumanity, ect), especially for when the bodies identity still has some affect on the system regardless.

Obviously feel free to edit that definition as much as needed for any terms, it's there as an explanation and example, not as a set rule as to how to define a bodyic term!

Affectionaro /Affectionate Aromantic

A term created for aromantics/arospecs who find affection of any kind to have a significant influence on their aromanticism and/or relate their aromanticism to affection of any kind (including romantic, sexual, nonrose, unlabeled, etc.)

Obscurum ("Ub-skYUr-um") and Hideaway ("hIde-awAEy")

Definition: A system role defined by the alter regularly hiding within or behind other alters, using them as a facade or shield of sorts, to obscure themself from others. These facade-alters are called "Hideaways." These alters may or may not be aware that they are doing this. They can go unnoticed for a long time by both system members and out-of-system loved ones due to them appearing to not be there. They can temporarily fuse with (aka "Inhabit or Possess") another alter to further obscure their presence, and can seem to simply "become them." They may have any number of Hideaways they can inhabit when they need or want to, though usually they can only inhabit one at a time. They may seem to have no personality of their own, and finding their own identity can be difficult for many of these alters as it goes against the purpose of their role. They may also have one or more additional roles, such as a Mirror, Harborer, Prism, Masker, Host, Emotional Protector and/or Processor, Masker, Innkeeper, Interra, and many others.

Hideaways are often someone who the Obscurum either admires, wants to be like, enjoys the presence of, has an interest in or loves (this can be romantically, platonically, familially, etc.), or wants to help in some way, potentially through helping them develop coping mechanisms, emotional healing, or processing trauma they hold.

The exact reason for an Obscurum being present in a system can vary, but in general they hold the conviction, perhaps without even being aware of it, that their presence must remain unknown.

Hideaways are sometimes "Sidelined," meaning they are temporarily unused by the Obscurum, or "Vacated" which is to be permanently cast-aside in favor of other Hideaways. This could be due to any number of reasons, but a few common examples would be that the Obscurum is close to being discovered due to their influence on their Hideaway's personality being noticed, the Obscurum has found a different Hideaway which is more appealing to them and/or they have grown bored of their current one, the Obscurum and the Hideway have grown apart or are too different for them to easily inhabit the other, or the Hideaway has become aware of the Obscurum's presence and is rejecting them or is pushing them out.

Coined by us, The Wandering Graveyard, aka The Many Gates Multiplex. Others are welcome to make their own flag for this term, however we will likely get around to making our own eventually. Coined for our system's host and innkeeper, Vengeance. This term is made with NPD & BPD in mind, but is not exclusive to those with either/both disorders.

There is no DNI for this term, however our blog itself is Pro-Non-Traumagenic systems, and Pro-Self-Diagnosis. We are also supporters of those with Cluster-B PDs and do not believe in "Narcissistic Abuse." Please read our blog's DNI before reblogging this post.

A plurid in which the system collectively identify as cringe, even if not all system members individually do. This probably involves the system collectively embracing the "cringe but free" attitude without all members identifying with the traits that make them "cringe", but it can involve anything. "Cringe" is intended as a self-descriptor and not as an inherently negative thing.

Phoenitrauma refers to any trauma someone has experienced/is affected by that originates from a past life, reincarnation, etc. The term is meant to validate the traumatic experience and the post-traumatic effects one might experience from their past lives, but still distinguish itself from trauma experienced within both this world and life. The word is derivative of "phoenixal" and meant to describe a certain type of exotrauma specific to people whose exomemories are from past lives/reincarnation/etc. The symbol is a combination of the phoenixal symbol and the aqua PTSD ribbon, over the phoenixal flag.

This term is meant for all people/beings/etc that experience any sort of reincarnation or past lives, including otherkin/therians, introjected system members, and more. This term does not discriminate between spiritual-based and string-theory-based reincarnation/dimensional concepts.

🌀 Phoenitraumagenic 🌀

alternatively: fenitraumagenic, phenitraumagenic

A system or system member that is phoenitraumagenic originates from phoenitrauma, a specific type of exotrauma stemming from past lives and other reincarnations. This means that the system/member(s) themselves stemmed from pre-existing phoenitrauma, rather than it simply coming with their exomemories.

Example 1: Member A has a traumatic past life, and Member B forms to cope with a specific aspect of that trauma. Member B is phoenitraumagenic.

Example 2: The system has no existing past life connection to Character C, but when Fictive C showed up, they found themself to be deeply affected by the exotrauma they experienced. Fictive C has phoenitrauma, but is not phoenitraumagenic.

Example 3: Member E has phoenitrauma from a bad experience in a previous reincarnation. Eventually, Member E splits a subsystem specifically centered around the phoenitrauma experienced. Member E's subsystem is phoenitraumagenic.

Example 4: Member G unlocks memories of a past life, and due to the trauma related to that past life, their identity is drastically altered to present completely as that past life. Member G is phoenitraumagenic.

Government System Roles

Consul: A system member in a system that holds a “chief executive” position. A consul is expected to hold the responsibilities and powers similar to that of a steward, manager, gatekeeper, and/or internal self helper. They lead and oversee the system and may have the final say.

Praetor: A system member in a system who holds “judicial authority.” They typically enforce system rules, responsibilities, and accountability, but may enforce other rules in the system’s life. Depending on the system, they may be seen as a type of protector and/or gatekeeper.

Aedile: A system member in a system that performs various tasks in a system’s headspace, such as the upkeep of architecture, festivals, projects, rituals, and routines. They may oversee architects and be one themself.

Quaestor: A system member in a system that oversees an area of headspace. They may act as a governor of sorts and hold various responsibilities and roles similar to that of a gatekeeper, protector, and architect.

Proconsul: A system member in a system that holds “executive powers” but barely uses them or uses them passively. They may wield the powers of a steward, manager, gatekeeper, and/or internal self helper. They may used to be a consul, their active counterpart.

Tribune: An internal communicator within a system that acts as a representative for the system as a whole, often in a system with an internal government.

Blue Stripe Aplatonic

(I coined this a while ago but this is the coining post with the flag I made for it now!)

Refers to an aplatonic who currently does not experience any platonic attraction at all(and may have any favorability/aversion/indifference label towards platonicism/friendship).

An alt version under the cut, I dont like it as much but in case someone else prefers less colors and simpler design
