I was thinking of prompt ideas of a short story and I picked this silly prompt from a story I was writing a while ago. It just seemed to fit well, enjoy :)

Summary:

While meeting up again after five years with no contact, MC finally asks Baxter why he stopped loving them, why he just left like it was nothing. Was this the answer they were expecting?

"Why did you stop loving me?" They asked, not really wanting an answer. It just felt right to ask. They felt they deserved an answer after everything.

"I never did," he muttered. There was a strain in his voice. A sadness beyond comprehension, said in such a lovely, soothing way. Had anyone else heard him, they wouldn't hear that pain in his tone but they knew.

"I never stopped loving you." He'd continue. Years of silence building up to this one moment. "From the day we danced at the summer sorrie to the day I left that town and years after that. Right now, I love you" he felt a sting in the corners of his eyes, tears threatened to spill after all this time ignoring it.

"You love me?" They were sceptical. They took a step forward. "You love, me?" 

"I do" he'd nod

"You do?" 

"I do"

"I love you too"
