Half of the child-aged population?

Yeah, Golden Grove is a small town, but recalling Qiu's comment on how there are three classes in their grade and assuming this also applies in other grades, that's still a LOT of kids. I know Qiu is popular, but damn.

Couple this with the fact that they aren't subtle about their crush on MC.

I mean, we can already see Baxter, a representative of the kids who have a crush on Qiu, has noticed what's happening between Qiu and MC and is clearly not happy with it.

MC has been struggling during Step 2; being split between your friends who aren’t friends themselves isn’t pleasant; every choice MC makes feels like they always have to pick between Qiu and Tamarack this isn’t even including their own issues that come from growing up.

One day Qiu and Tamarack get into an argument about the other one hogging MC’s time etc, they both turn and ask them to choose between them.

MC, being a stressed teen and not wanting to choose at all anymore runs away from them instead of answering.

The two go to apologize for stressing and scaring off MC at their house when they find a worried Opal who reveals that MC ran away from home.

This could end in lots of ways; I kinda see this playing out similarly to how Cove ran away in Step 1. With them going out to look for MC and bringing them home!

I can see MC just hiding out at the diner!

I Hate Starlight

This video is inspired by my headcanon based on what we've got in the demo & Qiu's character description/profile. Qiu's is pretty closed off in Step 2 & I imagined them denying their growing feelings for Star because they don't wanna add up more things to think about while they're still struggling with figuring themselves out. I feel like at this stage (in my headcanon lol) they would rather just let their relationship with Star be the same rather than taking the risk of changing it for possibly the worst.
