I got tagged twice and don’t know who to tag back for thisAA-

Ok, my bruddas @emile-hides  and @syalin-deerfox have both tagged me for dis, which of course naturally means it increases the % rate of it being done. Well, it worked! Here goes nothing.

Zodiac Sign: Cancer and Leo Ascendant (whatever that means), according to some sites, we suffer from melancholy and fears, are very sentimental, and like food, so i’d say it’s pretty accurate. The chinese sign for me is the Earth Rabbit, if i recall those have elements which i find interesting. (But why am i a crab rabbit tho?)

City/country you’d visit if you could leave right now: Nova Scotia, Canada, have always been a sucker for canada as a child, what started as simply loving the beavers and the snow evolved into just wanted to grow up for the rest of my days in the north. Someday maybe..

Languages you know: Languages i can speak: English,Spanish, A little bit of Dutch, A little bit of Portugues. Languages i can audibly understand: Italian, French, A little japanese. Wanna learn how to talk more dutch just for the fun of it.

Favorite hot beverage: Easy one, it has to be Strawberry Atole, Atole is a mexican beverage, a traditional hot-corn and masa based drink, that in my family my mom prepares when it’s cold (Which isn’t very often sadly). If i were to compare the texture to something, i’d say it’s like almost yogurt like. but with more consistency, the texture might not be interesting or appealing but i assure you it’s one tasty drink for those cold winters. Goes with toast. Very very hot.

Favorite cold beverage: Does apple juice count if it’s cold? If not, Lemon Iced Tea is my fave.

Favorite Salty Foods: Im not sure if really know like a salty food, but if it needs salt and some additional flavor enhancements then it has to be my Grandpa’s Chinese Rice Recipe for sure. (He was raised by a Chinese Man who adopted him soooo we got alot of cool chinese food we like). Veggies, Egg, Shrimp, Beef, Chicken, Soy Sauce, holy moly is it good, he always prepares it for me whenever i ask him to, really appreciate that, (He brought some a few days ago by my request it was AWESOME).

Favorite sweet food: Since it says food and not dessert i think i understand the question and i’m gonna say Enchiladas de Mole which are also a traditional mexican food, its soft tortilla that you put inside a sauce called Mole made with several spices and condiments, and of course it has a little bit of chocolate in it, it’s very tasty and usually has the tortilla with chicken inside it. It’s not a dessert, it’s like an afternoon lunch. It’s messy, black and yummy.

Favorite Flower: Oleanders definitely, they have an elegant shape, a strong color and can make you ill if you eat it or touch it. The other one would probably be Heliconias, they are common here and look very cool, used to think they were like some sort of giant bug or bird.

Knightfall - (History)

The good: At the beginning of a lot of these shows, I have a real issue with telling who the heck is who. I didn’t have that issue for the first few episodes, which is good.

The bad: They are in FRANCE. Why is everyone speaking with a modern posh British accent?  Also, the make up on the women in episode 1 is distractingly modern and kind of garish (This goes away, thankfully).

Also bad: Season 1 was well lit and for the time period, had a lot of color. For some reason in Season 2 they started doing that thing where it’s so dark and washed-out that you can’t tell what’s going on half the time.

This show, while not un-entertaining, is kind of a mess. I get the feeling that they thought it was going to be canned at the end of the first season, then they got a surprise renewal and had to scramble to put the second season together. THEN they seemed surprised to not get a third season so the ending seems a bit slapped together, with a number of loose ends. What happened to Adelina?  What happened to Landry’s mom and what did she tell Pope Boniface that made him let Landry go?

I found in the first season that I couldn’t care less about the Templar and their search for the Holy Grail, but I loved the political intrigue surrounding the Crown of France.  By the second season, the Royal family was clearly batshit, and I cared about the Templar because let’s face it, they got fucked over.. ahem.. royally.

Last, all of the shows I’ve watched to this point had some level of humor to them,  while Knightfall had exactly one line I laughed at.

A show this dark needs SOME comic relief.

Observations:

Why did King Phillip and William DeNogaret decide to trade hairdos and facial hair in season 2?

The season 2 storyline with Princess Isabella and Queen Margaret made little sense to me and seemed to be mostly just to give them something to do. From what I understand, the Real Princess Isabella would have been too savvy to let a percieved slight turn her full-psycho.

Favorite Characters: 

QUEEN JOAN. I love her so much.  I wanted so much for her.  I wanted her to leave Philip and rule Navarre on her own and be an awesome queen.

Adelina is adorable and badass, and I want to know where she went.

Tancrede was my season two favorite, bless him. Undying loyalty to the main character gets me all the time.

And though she didn’t really show up until the last half of season 2 and didn’t do much until the last two episodes, Lydia was pretty cool.

Least Favorite Characters:

DeNogaret (aka, Uncle Creepy) sucks on a few levels.  In season one I thought he was going to be a fun, scheming, Littlefinger type. Season two he’s a boring advisor. He doesn’t even have any facial hair.  He’s beige curtains.

Princess Isabella sucks. It doesn’t help that they switched out the actress in season two to someone with no emotional expression whatsoever. But seriously, Isabella is the worst. In season one she’s not entirely terrible, but she doesn’t seem to have a problem with snitching on both DeNogaret and her OWN mother. Snitches get stitches! Season 2 she’s gone full sociopath because.. what.. her sister-in-law slighted her by.. trying to be nice? Weak sauce, dude.

King Phillip sucks. He was somewhat sympathetic in season one, as yes, his wife did sleep with his best friend, but he was over-the-top evil in season two (hence the “I’m evil” beard?)

OTP: Tancrede + Anne.  I guess Landry+Joan, but I could see from the beginning that wasn’t going to end well.  Otherwise, there’s not a lot of shippable material here.

The Rec That Was Promised: Jaime x Brienne Fic Rec

I’ve been meaning to put this rec together for a LONG TIME but as always, time got away from me! I fell in love with this pairing before I even was a fan of the show OR the books--the concept of their dynamic intrigued me so much, the double-reverse Beauty and the Beast, the unexpected commonalities, the bonding through my favorite trope: the odd-couple-road-trip. Then I started watching the show and comparing it to book canon, and before I knew it, they had reached an OTP status in my heart on the same level as my other long-term faves (Zutara, Eowyn/Faramir, Captain Swan, Luke/Mara Jade, Royai). 

To ship Jaime and Brienne is to be committed to the SLOW BURN, and thankfully we have amazing writers in our fandom that pull us through, whatever ending these two have in canon. This is my love letter to the JB fandom as the show draws to a close, and to the writers who have explored and loved on these characters and enriched them for us. I’ll keep updating this as more fics come in!

QuizzicalQuinnia: Their stories are hilarious, poignant, sometimes bizarre but refreshingly original 

**O-T-P: A Saga of Epic True Love and Stuff saga: These stories are freakin’ HILARIOUS chronicles of Myrcella and her friends well-intentioned and completely dysfunctional plans to get Hot Uncle Jaime and Awesome Brienne together. I’m still mindblown by how the author comes up with the most bizarre scenarios and weaves so much believable human drama and emotion into them (M) 

Madonna of the Balcony: Jaime Lannister hides away at an isolated Sothoryos resort, mired in the loss of his identity as a sculptor after a devastating injury. Fate is cruel and allows his muse to be found only after he can no longer capture her form, but perhaps she's there for another purpose entirely. (M) 

Rellie: Their stories often break my heart, but they write Jaime and Brienne so poignantly that it’s a good kind of hurt 

**The Covering Sky: AU, from the end of 3x07 in which the timeline is changed slightly and Brienne ends up as the reluctant guest of the Lannisters in King's Landing. - Wonderful characterization and I love the exploration of J/B navigating King’s Landing and finding a way out 

Everything Broken (G) 

As Loud as Lions: Cersei will not stand for having what is hers stolen. (T)

astolat: Characters are vividly realized and the voices are both humorous and poignant 

**Traveling Far: Three weeks into their delightful slog across Westeros, during yet another charming day of shitting in the woods, eating half-raw squirrel, and trudging his feet bloody, the single most dour and uninteresting woman Jaime had ever met in all of Westeros stopped in the middle of a field, drew a deep breath, and said... (E) - This story probably has the most unexpected and delightful ending of the fics I’ve read and one of the few I’d LOVE to see continued as a miniseries 

**Laying Siege: “Marry me instead,” Jaime said. (E) - I’ve read this story so many times and never get tired of the wry humor and sweetness of it. Jaime’s voice is just so spot-on and clever. 

The Red Fork: "It's a choice every time," she said. (E) 

dreadwulf: I adore this writer’s exploration and expansion of canon, their introspective and honest characterization, and the organic, effortless quality of their storytelling. 

**A Man for All Seasons : Jaime Lannister is riding North to join the fight against the Night's King. At last he is free of his family, doing the right thing, and becoming the hero he was meant to be. Unfortunately, nothing is going according to plan.(M, WIP)  - The BEST Jaime characterization I’ve read so far. It packs a powerful emotional punch and builds a compelling Season 8 alternative and love story for Jaime and Brienne. I literally would marry this fic if I could...

Terrible Love: Brienne seeks out Jaime in the Lannister encampment to conclude her quest and return his sword. This time, her doesn't want to let her go. But is Brienne ready to stay? (T, WIP)

ssstrychnine: Adept at capturing the push-and-pull of Jaime and Brienne, their camaraderie and the kindredness that draws them together in so many different scenarios 

lavender: jaime helps brienne with her armour. brienne takes a bath. they share a bed. (T)

The Lion Prince: Brienne comes across a lion who wasn't always a lion. (T)

Wouldn't You Prefer A Maiden Fair?: That was what men wanted, wasn't it? Soft helpless women that they needed to protect? (G)

**It's Like Weather: Modern day Medieval Times style restaurant AU.(M)   - You would think this premise would be cheesy, but it’s really not. It’s completely believable and you end up rooting for these characters so much

Miss_M: Writes evocative pieces grounded in realism and a keen understanding of how Jaime and Brienne work as a partnership 

On the Night’s Watch: Detective Brienne Tarth transfers to the King’s Landing Police Department and is assigned to permanent nightshift duty: the Night’s Watch, where careers go to die. As if that weren’t bad enough, her new partner is the infamous Jaime Lannister. When they land a time-sensitive missing person case, trusting each other is the only way they might solve the mystery. (M)

**Where the Wind Takes Us: A year after the events of A Dance with Dragons, Jaime and Brienne arrive in the Free Cities to look for Arya Stark.A storm blows their ship all the way to Volantis, forcing our intrepid knights to go about their quest the long way around. (T) - I love the comfortable intimacy and the world-building in this one, plus it’s one of the few that send J/B to Essos

A Song of Thunder and Comfort: In which Jaime discovers Brienne is afraid of thunder and reacts accordingly. (T)

The Twenty Deaths of Brienne of Tarth: What could have been, what may yet be. (T) 

Love is Not Love: Brienne never expected to be a mother. (G)

RoseHeart: Their pieces always manage to feel like a breath of fresh air and craft such compelling character interactions 

**I Will Not Close My Eyes: What could happen much later than the events from ADWD... (M) - A painful premise, but where it goes from there is worth it

Nothing That Is So, Is So: Brienne must go to King's Landing, pretending to be her brother and grow up living a lie, waiting for the day she is sent back home, away from being a knight and away from the man she meets there. This is a Twelfth Night inspired story. (T)

**The Alcove: Jaime and Brienne have survived war and winter. But now they must try to find their new lives amidst something they have never truly experienced before: peace. - There’s a simplicity and serenity to this piece that I love as an ending for these two

**The Seven Bind Their Fate: What if Jaime became a prisoner of Renly Baratheon, instead of Robb Stark, and he met Brienne earlier? This story delves into the changing nature of Jaime and Brienne's relationship in a time of war and shifting alliances and then explores how their journey, and the land, is changed by this small twist of fate. (M) - This is a sprawling epic of a story that I was totally enthralled with

How I feel about this character:

A good boi and excellent supporting character. In some ways he kinda reminds me of a socially-smoother/more extroverted version of myself in high school...mostly just in how he talks (I, too, was very much known to use phrases like “awesome sauce” and “cool beans” whoop de doo). I was a heckuva lot more shy and awkward than Toby tho lol

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Just Darci. I don’t feel super strongly about it but it’s cute enough, if a little underdeveloped.

I’m not really sure if I’m aware of enough fandom opinions about Toby to really have a particularly unpopular one, at least not as far as I’m aware ^^;

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

Kinda wish he’d gone on the quest to New Jersey with the rest of the team; we all know the primary reason he didn’t is so he could represent the Trollhunters crew in 3Below. But again it’s not something I feel super strongly about; overall it’s fine as it is.

this is the first ask I got for this meme and it’s honestly giving me life you guys;;

1.       Who laughs at their own joke and who deadpans at the joke?

Will definitely laughs at his own jokes, and he will not stop just because Worf won’t react to them and would just stare back – that’ll only make Will laugh even more. As soon as he looks around though (and realizes that in fact NO ONE laughed), he might shut his mouth and look down lol.

2.       If they had a secret handshake, how would it go?

A Klingon one, maybe! Like the Qapla’ greeting just one each other’s shoulder instead of their own. Or just a really low high five, like super casual, maybe even without looking at each other, that’d be cool as well.

3.       It’s movie night, what movies are they gonna watch together?

The classics. Disney movies because Will loves them, and Worf learns to appreciate them over time. War movies, but those with hyper homoerotic subtext (I imagine those must be all over Klingon cinema lol). Queer cinema in general. The stuff Worf can get overly invested in lol

4.       It’s time to name their pet they adopted together, who gets to name it? How do they come to this decision?

Worf comes up with a name so great Will just says yes. He’ll probably choose something with an elaborate meaning. (Even though the name is already short, Will finds a way to construct a diminutive.) The Real Question is, what kind of pet would they adopt? Not a cat, I presume. A dog, rather. A big, ugly, dangerous-looking Klingon beast. Maybe. Like a warrior sehlat that everybody is afraid of, and then Will comes in like “Aren’t you a good boy??? Who’s a good boy???? You’re a good boy!!!” and it would whine like a puppy lol.

5.       Who would they love to go on a double date with?

Will would love a double date with just about anyone, simply because he likes double dates so much. Worf probably needs some persuasion, but he too would go on a double date with Geordi/Data or Deanna/one of her many girlfriends, if the location is to his taste. However, both Will and Worf draw a line when it comes to Lwaxana Troi, who is the greatest fan of double dates in the quadrant.

6.       Who wakes the other up in the morning? How do they wake them up?

I don’t think either of them has a problem getting up early in the morning, first of all. Worf gets up earlier because he wants to train on the holodeck before duty. When he comes back, he wakes Will with a gentle hand on his shoulder. When they are on vacation, say on Risa, Will gets up first to prepare breakfast. He goes to wake up Worf with a cup of coffee in his hands and whispers his name before he sits down on the edge of the bed. Once Worf is awake, Will gives him a kiss. (I’m getting soft just imagining this y’all)

7.       How do they celebrate Halloween?

To Will, it is just another opportunity to dress up like a slut and eat candy. Worf dresses up with a little accessory. They prepare sweets for the ship’s kids who do trick or treat, which is the quiet part of the evening. Once Alexander is in bed, they go to Ten Forward to celebrate with the other officers. Will gets very drunk. And flirty. Worf doesn’t mind, of course.

8.       Who is more likely to call their partner ‘dude’?

Will lol. Probably when Worf does some disgusting Klingon ritual that even Will can’t look at.

9.       During a thunderstorm how do they react? Is one scared? Do they both love it? Do they take pictures?

Both are fans of thunderstorms! Maybe in Klingon culture, a thunderstorm means that the Heavens are having some warrior’s party or something. It’s loud, it’s messy, it’s raw nature, that’s why Worf stands by the window and stares with a wide smile. Will does too. However, I’m playing with another idea: that he’s scared/nervous/concerned, and Worf needs to do some comforting – but that’s just my voracity for H/C speaking. Oh, another idea: Worf insists on going outside to experience the storm as intensely as possible, and Will worryingly recites thunderbolt protection rules in the hopes that Worf doesn’t get himself killed lol

10.   Who would looking lovingly at their partner and call them ‘idiot’?

Worf definitely has some gentle expressions going on from time to time, but Will is this pair’s Heart Eyes Department, so he’d stare lovingly at Worf, who is I don’t know, trying to brush his teeth or so, failing, and then say ‘idiot’ with a soft chuckle. And then he’d help him, of course ♡

11.   It’s time to get groceries, who likes to look at everything and who just wants to power through and get everything done so they can go back home?

I can imagine either version! Will being so enthusiastic about cooking that he’d check every shelf they pass, and Worf just clutching the (hover) shopping cart, praying that it’s over soon. Or, the other way around: Will has his quick shopping routine but can’t get anything done in time because Worf is so fascinated by everything they walk past on the market.

12.   Who is more likely to make a mess in the kitchen?

Worf. When Will cooks, it’s mostly orderly and not that much to clean up. But Worf – let’s just say Klingon kitchens are something else. Plus Worf doesn’t know shit about cooking because he’s so used to replicators. When he does try to cook (maybe to do Will a favor?), he not only messes up the kitchen, but also himself – face full of flour and apron bespattered with sauce, eyes wide – and Will finds him helpless like that, only to smile at him gently and help him clean up. And help him cook as well, think standing behind Worf and coordinating his hands while burying his nose in long curly hair~ uwu

13.   Who likes to try to prank their partner?

Definitely Will. Surprise parties, surprise kisses, lame joke items, lying (“Nope, no idea where your hairband is…”), but it’s never something serious or overly elaborate like those fake youtube pranks.

14.   When scrolling on their phone, who is more likely to show their partner a cute picture/video of an animal?

For cute animals, it’s Will showing them to Worf: “Aw, look, a bunny! Look at its tiny eyes and the fluffy ears! Look!!!” For dangerous/awesome animals, it’s Worf: “Have you ever seen a creature this majestic? Look at its eyes. The eyes of a warrior – a pause – The bunny is nice as well.”

15.   Who causes the tomfoolery and who has to try and stop the tomfoolery?

Will may cause deliberate tomfoolery. If at all, Worf is more of an involuntary troublemaker with the best intensions, whereas Will can be quite mischievous from time to time, I imagine. Although it’s all in good fun, things can take a turn for the worse when in combination with his clumsiness.

1. Who pulls the other closer while sleeping?

Definitely Maxwell, Erin can't fall asleep if she's hot so no touchy until she's asleep.

2. How do they wake up next to each other? Ex - tangled in each others arms? Is one falling off the bed? Etc.

This is where Max probably regrets snuggling her because she always ends up sleeping on top of him. He always wakes up with her asleep on his chest.

3. What movie do they both watch when they've had a bad day and just want to turn their brains off for a little while?

Erin - Dirty Dancing. Classic, she loves Patrick Swayze, she loves dancing to it, and making Maxwell try the lift...repeatedly. 😂

Max - Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is also cool with Erin because she loves that one too. They sing the songs and dance the time warp together.

4. Who picks an object up, says a pun with the object and then laughs as if it's the funniest thing they have ever heard?

Omg both, definitely both. Biggest pair of dorks around.

5. How do they hype one another up?

Maxwell loves to tell her how awesome she is at literally everything. Including stupid stuff. He's also very touchy feely so she gets congratulations kisses, good job kisses, you can do it kisses 🥰

Erin is also super touchy, but she loves to smack him. Usually his butt. And usually a "You got this!" lol

6. When one of them gets a new outfit, how does the other one react?

Erin legit does not care about clothes. Give her leggings and t shirts and she's good, 24/7. Max loves dressing her up though so he's always super excited when she gets a new outfit (because he bought it 😂). Meanwhile she tells him he's hott in any and every thing and she doesn't usually notice if it's new or not. He loves her enough to let it slide. 💕

7. Who tries to playfully scare the other person and who always knows where the other person is?

Both! They frequently try to scare the other and are both terrible about screaming at jump scares. 😂 Max can usually find her while she usually is not paying attention and wanders by him before he jumps out to scare her.

8. When they grocery shop, what is one section they love to playfully mess around in and why?

Max loves to try to make her blush so he'll make super inappropriate remarks while near the ice cream toppings...whipped cream...caramel sauce...chocolate sauce...sometimes the veggies. 🤣

9. When their partner has a bad day, what is something the other picks up to try and make their day a little better? Ex - fast food, flowers, a punny card, etc.

Maxwell brings her greasy cheeseburgers and garlic parmesan fries...always a big winner, although her breath is rough afterwards...she still get kisses though. 😁

Erin brings him cheetah cakes, they're a guilty pleasure of his that she does not understand because they are awful...but whatever makes him happy. 🥰

10. Who runs up and hugs their partner while the other catches them?

She always runs up and jumps at him, and he has and will always catch her. Because he's always got her. *swoon*

11. What song reminds them of each other?

For Erin, it's Easy by Camila Cabello...it's how he loves her. With no hesitations, no expectations, he sees no flaws and no faults. And he makes her love herself.

For Max, it's With You by Tyler Shaw...he would do anything for her...and they really were just two hearts on a cold street. 💕

12. Who presses their nose against their partners cheek before kissing them?

Maxwell, he just loves to be touching her and he loves eskimo kisses and he loves the smooth skin of her face. And Erin hates him "wiping his nose on her" but she secretly loves it and swoons inside every. single. time.

13. What small quirks do they love about each other?

Max thinks it's adorable when she talks to herself, her facial expressions, her random dances, how she bites her lip when she's nervous, her shower concerts, and her love for flying pigs. (They give so much hope, if a pig can fly then I can do anything, and they're so cute!)

Erin loves literally everything about Maxwell except for when he talks down about himself. But to name a few, his stress dancing (because she can join in and cheer him up), how he wiggles his nose when he's thinking, and his love for animals.

14. Who accidentally snorts when they laugh and that makes both of them laugh harder?

Erin! 😂

15. What are some things they do for one another because they know their partner hates it? Ex - do the dishes, phones to make an order, talks to sales clerk, etc.

Max keeps conversations flowing at events because she has terrible anxiety, he also unloads the dishwasher because...short girl problems.

Erin keeps everything organized and tidy, Maxwell's living space can get a lot like his mind...cluttered. But she helps with both. She also leads the dishwasher because all is fair in love and war.

Woah. Ok so my OTP brain is screaming at me, so I'll say Theon and Jon Snow, and I'd set them somewhere where they only have nice things and sunshine and ofc they would, over time, get together 😬

I love my water bottle (glass) and I do have a heavy silver goblet for when I feel fancy lol

Texts, although I do love sending and receiving hand-written letters

Grey, damp, misty, cool

I call it Turbo Chicken - it's not much, just Chicken wrapped in bacon with a creamy white wine sauce and basmati rice

Not really... TNR? Arial? Calibri? Whatever looks normal lol
