Its Independence Day

The fourth of July. America's Birthday.

So here is what I have to say.

With everything that has happened, I still believe this country has the right to Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.

People will say that it has been gone a while, others will say recent events have shown it is no longer there.

But I say to those who say that, "That is exactly what they want you to think".

You still are alive, you can still vote, you can still have your voice heard. This country has a Constitution that ensures that your rights as a citizen are protected (These are the rights naturally had by the people NOT the rights the government gives to you. Remember that). Hell, the first 10 amendments are called the "Bill of Rights"

(Seriously, not enough people on this site actually know what rights they have. and also dont understand that the US has always been a Constitutional Republic with Democratically elected Representatives.)

I think people do misunderstand a lot of what the constitution represents. While it isnt perfect, it can be changed and AMENDED. Thats the beauty of it, the US can change and grow with the country. Even if people find fault or several faults with it. If one gathers others and works hard, they can help change the way the US is run. Look at the amendments that have been added. Look at the rights that have been expanded on.

Is this easy? No.

Is it possible? Yes

So I say if you want to make a change, you want to make america better, YOU have to believe it can be done and YOU have to be the start of the change you want to see. Dont rely on others to speak for you. You have Freedom of Speech, use it.

With that said, This is from a son of Immigrants, I call America my home. I have seen America's beauty, its ugly, and its crazy. But I will say this. I am thankful that I am in this country and I know it will change for the better.
