A gimmick which I think would be interesting in a visual novel: small variation in the visual designs of the sprites and backgrounds based on who's narrating a given scene. Not large variations, mostly—buildings are going to have generally the same architecture, people are going to have generally the same outfits, et cetera—but lots of details shifting around on the margins, showing the texture of the characters' thought-processes through the visual design of the world as they see it, rather than only through the text of their narration.
So, for example, one could have one viewpoint character be unusually faceblind, and portray this by having all the sprites have Same-Face Syndrome when viewed from their perspective, even as they hold onto more variation face-wise in everyone else's perspectives. One could have one viewpoint character who's unusually conscious of the fine details of their physical environment, and portray this by drawing the environment-art with much more fiddly detail when in their perspective, showing wood-grain and electrical wiring and other such things which are abstracted away in others' perspectives of the same areas. Et cetera.

While the trick-or-treating comic was very cute, I cannot imagine Vasco not being a little treat kinda guy
Are you telling me he doesn't randomly buy himself candy just for the dopamine and the child-like joy? That he doesn't indulge on halloween spirit and buy spooky candy just for him and Machete?? (who barely eats it but halloween spirit comes first, practically second)
.
#I actually thought about that for quite a while before choosing to go with a simple and neutral soda can#because yes I do think Vasco is a little treat kinda guy#but the treats he goes for probably aren't straight up candy#he's into hot chocolate and sweet coffee drinks#ice cream (particularly odd and seasonal flavors)#pastries and desserts probably#I can see him being a nutella enjoyer#and if he buys actual sweets I think he'd go for chocolate bars#(not like mars bars but thin flat sheets of chocolate that you break into smaller pieces)#(do those have a specific name in english or are they both just chocolate bars?)#none of the above are very easy to share unexpectedly with unfamiliar children#like I said in majority of Europe halloween isn't widely/officially celebrated and trick-or-treating isn't customary#families with young children teens and young adults might do halloween activities on smaller scale#but a childless couple in their thirties (and living in an apartment) is unlikely to have halloween candy in reserve methinks#Machete doesn't eat that many sugary things regularly#if Vasco is having something he probably goes along with it#but his health anxiety kind of affects what foods he deems acceptable and which ones should be avoided#which is ironic because modern Machete has a history of stress smoking#as a habit that's quite a bit worse for you than having an occasional ice cream sundae#I think he managed to quit when their relationship turned serious#answered#anonymous#modern au

so apparently all clothes in morrowind are made from blight moth silk (the moths do not have or spread blight) and im just.
where are the blight moths. how big are they. their life cycle. how long were they domesticated. if pretty much all clothes in morrowind are silk this means there must be some truly HUGE scale silk production given it is kind of time consuming and labor intensive.
do people eat the blight moth pupae? what do the blight moths eat? bc silkworms IRL basically only eat mulberry leaves. and they eat quite a lot. to the point large estates would have mulberry trees just to supply leaves and now male mulberry trees are quite common ornamental plants across the globe. are there dunmeri ornamental plants that became so widespread due to blight moth silk production?
i need these answered. or i will die.

calling targ fans neo-nazis because they enjoy a fictional family of dragonlords is insane. it's also super disgusting because a majority of targ nation are poc and/or jewish themselves. and where the fuck do they get the idea that targaryens are nazis to begin with? which race are they trying to systematically exterminate? when did they impose valyrian lebensraum on westeros? how the fuck can they be white supremacists against the other whites of an entirely white continent?
Honestly, I think this is why we just have to start being meaner to these people. There's no way they should feel comfortable casually calling people "neo-nazis" because of the fictional characters they like in a fantasy series. I'm so tired of the superiority complex they have because they think they're enjoying the series in the "right" way in comparison to the rest of us. The Targaryens are "Nazis" because they don't like them and need Dany to go mad to fit their idea of what the story should be. In other words, they lack any concept of critical thinking skills and their only reference for the story is that god-awful show that George has said multiple times has a different ending than his. "Targ restoration is neo-nazi rhetoric" and the Targ restoration in question is a former bridal slave who's spent the majority of her life in poverty and danger + who is currently enacting a wide-scale revolution and fighting for slaves getting the family and happiness she's always wanted. Not to mention that people never have these "bad blood" takes about Jon, despite him being Half-Targaryen. The Starks are colonizers who took over the North and decimated the COTF...but I don't see any takes saying it's bad to hope the Starks regain their home. Where are all the metas/theories about the remaining COTF returning and regrowing their numbers? I thought we weren't supposed to like colonizers responsible for the destruction of an entire species? Funny how that hypocrisy works. Meanwhile, the actual author of the series is a Targ stan who has written more for House Targaryen than any other house. But sure...it's our moral obligation as readers to not like them and root for their extinction 🙄

If you aren't familiar with the term, flanderization is when you exaggerate a character's personality trait to where an aspect of their character is turned into a central part of their personality, often leaving out important nuance and other details. This does NOT mean these traits are inaccurate but rather that these get magnified at the loss of other parts of the character.

Maybe it’s a personal issue of assuming everyone will want to kill me for daring tell them how they’re doing anything at all incorrectly, but honestly with how so many white men here are with their “nobody can tell me how to do anything I’ve got my freedom and I’ll do what I want no matter who is hurt from it” attitude I’m too afraid to directly tell the dudes at my office who keep throwing the compostable cups in the trash that they’re doing it wrong. Maybe I’m too conflict averse, but I’d rather just keep fishing the cups out of the trash at the end of the day than try. Are my worries exaggerated? Maybe. But I can’t imagine most of them would take kindly to some tranny in a mask telling them what to do

Tonight is the first night of Chanukah, and I have decided that to “celebrate” I will be contacting my representatives every day for the next 8 days to call for a permanent ceasefire in Palestine, and I urge you to do the same. There are countless easily accessible templates for emails, phone calls, and letters that take less than 5 minutes to complete and put pressure on our reps, who are aiding and abetting a literal genocide. If you are able, you can also donate to reputable esim providers (the Cartoonist Cooperative has really easy links, and you can get art) to keep people connected thru internet blackouts
As incentive, I am offering a fullbody colored sketch to anyone who chooses to dm me after these 8 days with proof of contact with their reps (dated screenshots of emails, dated call logs, etc. just nothing with your personal info). This is not a large scale, highly organized project; this is just an option that hopefully inspires you to take consistent action.
I think there is a horrible irony in the Zionist love of Chanukah; how can you see yourself represented in a story about standing against oppressors and still enact the same violent oppression against those you deem lesser. You are not a hero, you are not brave, you are a coward laughing as people are murdered in your name, and your memory will only bring shame
The real bravery is that of the Palestinian people, who despite the odds stacked against them continue to survive. This is far more in the spirit of a holiday about resistance than a celebration of genocide will ever be.
We will not be silent. We will not give up on the people of Palestine. They will survive and be free.
I hope this is clear enough to make sense to people, please feel free to let me know any questions/concerns you may have. Chag sameach
