*waving awkwardly at whoever happens to be walking by* Just a little heads up (since I guess I feel weird not giving any sort of notice?) that I’ll be making a point to be on here much less going forward (not disappearing, I’ll still be around, but probably only popping in now and again)… At least for now! Summer is always a difficult time of year for me, to be honest with you, and being chronically online definitely won’t help with that. So… Yeah! As per usual feel free to @ me to make sure I see something (y’all can also dm me lol no need to be shy). 💜
That’s it! Again just felt like leaving a little notice aha… Anyhoo, y’all take care and be safe :] ✌️

SPOLIERS FOR EPITHET ERASED PRSION OF PLASTIC AND RAINCODE:
For the first image I had just finished listening to Prison of Plastic Chapter 7 in a discord call and I was in shambles (Molly's breakdown and the monolouge about how adults were just as clueless as kids really got to me man) and as a small reward I got gifted a star for making it through probably one of the saddest if not THE saddest chapter of POP.
In that EXCAT SAME WEEK (other two images) I decide to play Raincode cause I was enjoying the game and needed some small comfort after chapter 7 broke me. Sadly enough the chapter I was on was Chapter 4, again one of the saddest chapters of Raincode. Not only is Yakou the culprit BUT instead of his soul being ripped out he gets hugged by Shinigami as kinda like a mercy kill.
One last thing: I can't give enough props to the voice actors of Molly and Yuma cause JESUS CHRIST their preformances during the breakdown scenes was amazing man. My heart shattered when they were crying but the VAs did such a good job.
ok I'm done now

what is misrecognition? I've been trying to look into it and it seems like its just a developmental thing where a kid/person thinks they are their reflection. I was curious if there was more to what you were refrencing. >.>
yeah that's part of it, but there's a little more to all that stuff too that I was referencing! I'm gonna try to tl;dr it w/ my limited understanding and not ramble on too bad so…
According to L/can, the "mirror stage" basically goes on for the rest of your life bc your reflection can't encompass everything that you are nor does it reflect your experience of life, and this creates a kind of disconnect/split in self-image and ego; an other self
So thru life the ego constantly misunderstands/misrecognizes itself to try and be a cohesive whole despite being split between what it understand itself to be vs what it is in physical reality, if that makes sense lol?
But it's not out of ignorance, it's just kind of... looking at things/yourself and bc you think a certain way, you attribute a false understanding or meaning to the stuff you know
__
That's where the "misrecognition is not ignorance" quote comes from and why I kinda linked it to Locus + that drawing; Locus seems himself as a soldier, a gun, he's a suit of armor. Yet in the mirror he's just a man, a human being who has a choice and conscience so he has to try and fit those two things together (which is probs why he has that X on his face too lol)
He can't ignore the things he's done and continues to do so…. he "misrecognizes" that and I think that sort of stuff shows in his Chorus Journal thing for example;
"Which is the most deserving of your hate? The man who fires the gun? The man who makes the gun? Or the gun? Do you know which one I am?" COME OOOONNNN MAN IS MISRECOGNIZING HIS ROLE THE WHOLE TIME BUT HE STILL KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING AUGGHRGRJKH

Okay okay okay consider
Ozpin getting dragged out of Beacon for once bc glynda got sick and tired of him being cooped up in his tower
Ozpin and qrow going on a few short Huntsman missions together, one of them involving an unknown Grimm terrorizing a village
Ozpin n qrow going off to fight the Grimm- however the Grimm is... weirdly intelligent and separates them
Ozpin finding out the Grimm is more or less telepathic and reflects all of your worst fears, insecurities, memories, etc and is thus naturally pretty intelligent- but this one is very old, and is practically sentient at this point
Ozpin being tormented by this Grimm, having everyone he knows or knew used against him, including past lives, having himself taunt him, calling him a liar, a coward, someone who uses others for his own benefit, etc
Ozpin being tormented because this Grimm KNOWS his worst thoughts, whether fleeting or part of trauma. The Grimm knowing how many times he's killed himself, how much he has bottled up (rage, self hate, etc), what Oz has done and has wanted to do even if it was just a brief thought. The Grimm ripping into him, using every word of Ozpins against him
The Grimm literally using Ozpins own signature fighting style to fight Ozpin, beating him down with the fake version of Long Memory (like v9 ch8 but with Oz)
Ozpin being unable to fight back, not because the Grimm is too powerful (though it is strong), but because Ozpin agrees with the Grimm, that he's an awful person and deserves pain
Qrow coming in at the last second before the Grimm kills Ozpin, killing the Grimm and saving Oz
Ozpin repressing everything until after he gets medical treatment, after he gets home, when he's alone, and finally breaking down, completely alone, isolating himself

universe of constant spinning, every end a new beginning
“So, do you have an umbrella? That was like, your thing, right? At Claw?”
Ah—not again! He can’t keep zoning out while talking to people—especially his boss.
But… why was Reigen still here? It was late and he always got to work early. It wasn’t his job to stay and coddle his employees. “I—uh—no,” he stuttered, fingers twisting anxiously. “Mine was, uh, "is” broken, sir.”
‘Broken’ was a mild way to put it. More like it got destroyed.
