and thank you for the excuse to post the. just absolute wall of text that i truncated down to form the tags of that post. (i did,,, hit the tag limit. i forgot tumblr had one of those...) so let me just paste that and tidy it up a bit...

I am putting this under a readmore because it's a bit long. but:

This is like. The General Context for all* of my postcanon doodles? (Except AUs obviously) Like this is the base idea I've been drawing them all in. So, feel free to backread with this in mind. I've basically had this 'postcanon' timeline set in my brain since finishing the game...

My general thoughts are that I like the idea of Loop (even if through dubiously ethical means) being able to slowly reintegrate with the party as a whole new person, because they are, in fact, their own person.

It's a muddle of thematic threads im pulling on and "wouldn't it be fucked up if", but. (at its core, it's powered by the fact that like, while narratively isat's theme of 'the only person who can truly take the first step to help you is yourself'. (wrt: loop helping the party help siffrin in act 5) which i LOVE AND IS GREAT NARRATIVELY…. would be super fucked up irl to learn that your friend 'learned as a lesson' while you stood by kinda uselessly. I know i'd be upset about it. but thats mostly background here. doesn't really come up. at least not until loop has to explain who they are and the party realises they had to fall back on literally themselves again for help, but i digress,)

The real core concept is: Occam's razor. It is like, inherently, a buckwild thing to accuse a person of being somehow a clone or copy of your friend. Even if they start vaguely alluding to a backstory it's far more likely they were some other person before all that. (I still think Odile has that theory in the back pocket but she's rational enough to know it's a really long shot without a solid explanation. and i think Loop deep down knows this, and would, if cornered into confessing, turn the situation around to go J'ACCUSE and make HER explain it instead. Ever longer dodging being direct with their emotions...)

And the party are nice! And if someone has changed and wants to keep stuff secret it's kind of not their business? (Though it's hard not to speculate… see: the main joke of the doodles) And they seem important to Siffrin so they just try to accept them abrasive quirks and all. And eventually the question of their prior identity just fades away since, well, they're Loop. Their friend Loop.

but yeah. personal headcanon is that a few months/weeks after picking up and getting aquainted with Nille** (since that was presumably the IMMEDIATE TASK postgame), Loop reappears (either after a literal period of nonexistance, or just spending a few months wandering the french countryside alone being attacked by wild dogs). Since Siffrin has had a while to be therapised by the party they're doing mostly okay, but Loop showing up and still being agitated/aggressive pulls them both into a bit of a backslide behaviourally and puts the party on the back foot again.

Hooowever, I do think that due to no longer being literally stewing in the worst pressure cooker of all time together, the two do mostly actually sort themselves out with productive conversation. (Via a cycle of: genuinely distressing argument -> weeeird lovebombing -> ok we're good -> repeat, that gets less intense over time)

Thus, allowing the party to just. Integrate loop as a new person. They and Siffrin shuffle into different ecological niches (Loop taking over stuff Siffrin is now too squeamish for, etc (see: hunting, mostly)), and while it's not exactly what Loop wanted they generally get that beggars can't be choosers and it's a pretty good deal. And the rest of the party does straight up just like them as a friend, especially when Loop quits trying to actively antagonise them after a few weeks of being around them, since they just can't keep up being mean to people they like forever.

As for how I think the truth eventually drags itself out. This is where I invoke The Isabeau Torment Nexus™. So its gonna get shippy here for a bit hold on.

Which is, I think giving them time before Loop reappears long enough that Siffrin and Iseabeau actually manage to become established, Isabeau has to be the one to nudge the pair of them and go. "Hey. You know we're in Vaugarde right. I'm okay with polyamory if we all communicate." Before Loop and Siffrin actually even acknowledge that whatever the fuck they have going on kinda looks a lot like a relationship of some kind. (or have already been agonising about that via fighting and arguing, depending) (Obviously this comes after Isa "Emotionally intelligent enough to keep a lid on the jealousy" Beau has managed to use that big brain of his to Not just go Scream somewhere on the daily because oh godddd they keep talking like theyre suicide-baiting each other jesus chriiist. is it overstepping his boundaries to bring that up?? god)

This, taking a bunch of the tension out of Loop and Isabeau's relationship (Since I imagine Loop is a. being weird for the obvious reasons and b. feeling kinda guilty about 'getting in the way of' Siffrin and Iseabeau), allows them to actually get close in a normal friend way. (I think an interesting turning point could be Isabeau actually taking Loop's side in an argument vs Siffrin, which would absolutely break Loop's brain. Especially if it's an argument that matters. Like what do you mean he isn't just going to play favourites. What?)

Then Isabeau, just actually open minded and charmed by Loop (and maybe even somewhat at Siffrin's suggestion?) tries to close the final open side on the polyamory triangle here and that's the final straw for Loop on "This lie by omission is too unethical to keep up, this is just actually sick and wrong. I can't do this while he doesn't know who I am." Though. Obviously it probably goes. Very poorly with emotions high like that. And the added element of several months of deceit. Getting dark here for a second but that dagger is going MISSING and so are THEY for a hot minute.

Then yaaay everything works out in the end 👍 yippieee!! all it took was maybe a lot of harrowed recontextualisation of all the weird shit your new friend said and did when it turns out they're your old friend. It's fine.

But yeah. this is basically the context all of my postcanon doodles have existed within? And those exist to give other people something to chew on. So this does too.

I suppose TL;DR: Imagine if sloopis almost fucking happens before isabeau knows who loop is. can you fucking imagine. can you imagine having to navigate that. nightmare.

*Yes this includes the implied cannibalism comic. Uhh. Comes part and parcel with headcanoning that Loop went way off the deep end similar to A5 Sif But Maybe Worse before giving in. Add weepy half-asleep confessions to murder wherever you see fit in your mind palace. 👍👍👍

**Re: Nille footnote. I don't have anywhere to put this besides here! I have some thoughts on Loop and Nille having an odd dynamic. I don't imagine Nille to be super gung-ho on trusting a bunch of adults (even if they are majority around her age) given their implied backstory. It's probably a big shock to the system, especially since Bambouche is a good couple hundred Kilometers up north from Dormont and these guys don't seem to have trains. She would've been unfrozen and without Bonnie for some time....

Which is to say: I think she's suspicious of them. I think she may be looking for excuses to distance herself, keep Bonnie safe. SO.... A new guy showing up? And antagonising the party? What do they know that I don't...? I should find out.

And since... Loop didn't ever know Nille, they have no ammunition or real reason to be cruel. Plus, if they're trying to stay on Bonnie's good side (SINCE... if Bonnie thought Loop was cringe they may as well kill themselves. In their mind.) they SUPER have no reason to antagonise Nille.

Mostly, they might be able to open up to each other easier than they can the rest of the party?

I feel like this resolves with Loop feeling compelled to apologise for what they and Siffrin let happen to Bonnie, though... Hmm... Depends on how you interpret Nille that they'd be glad nobody else had been told about that yet, or furious it had been secret this long. I lean toward the former.

It was becoming too much. The stress of exams, the late nights, the constant thought that was playing in your head like some stupid broken record- you're going to fail, you're going to fail, you're going to fail.

And you knew that it was a possibility. While you were able to choose what you wanted to do, you also had one compulsory subject to take-mathematics.

What you were pursuing was journalism, which was the polar opposite of math and the whole reason you chose to be a journalist was because you hated math. And honestly you sucked at it. Your fear of exams and fear of failure didn't exactly help the situation.

You were bent over a rough notebook, trying to solve the stupid problem at around 1 am while Steven was worriedly looking at you periodically from his position opposite you as he read another book.

Ever since you were a kid, you wanted to be like your brothers, who excelled at everything. Your parents never compared you to them, even going so far as to scolding you for even thinking that you weren't as good as them. But you knew the truth, you knew that every time they saw the C or D appear in your report card for mathematics or science, they'd wonder why you were the way you were.

Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't. What was true was the fact that, that was what you thought. Why can't I be as good as them?

When they were in 10th, one of them was head boy, he was in a band, he had people swooning over him, he was loved by teachers and students alike, and on top of that, he got over 95 percent in everything. While the other was house captain, won awards, was respected. And again, got 95 percent in everything.

And you? when you were in 10th, you lost the student elections, you weren't as good at sports as you used to be, you sucked at math and science 'the important subjects' and the only awards you used to win weren't for amazing things. Everyone you had a crush on went and dated your best friends and you were left wondering what the hell was wrong with you, why you weren't loved like you wanted to be loved. Why, when you had so much love to give, no one wanted it, not even platonically. You realized the answer. You were not enough. That was how you felt through college and now even in university.

So even when you were assured everyday by your boyfriends, (how you landed them, you had no idea) that they loved you, you had that doubt, that fear. That just like almost everyone in your life, they too would stop wanting your love.

That fear, coupled with the stress and pressure, made you want to burst into tears. And then you'd berate yourself, comparing yourself to them. They handled so much shit in their life, so much pressure, so many life-threatening situations and here you were, panicking at the mere thought of a simple damn exam. Pathetic.

As your answer came wrong, again, you felt like tearing the notebook up and throwing it out the window and then sobbing your heart out because it was too much and you were screaming into your hand because your head was pounding and your hands hurt and all you wanted to do was sleep for weeks.

When you felt strong hands pulling your own from your face you realized that you just did what you were thinking about.

Shit. Shitshitshitshit. You ruined their flat, you'd thrown the book out, you disturbed Steven, you made a fool out of yourself, youwere a failure what was wrong with you?

"Love? Love? You're panicking, hey, hey it's okay! Deep breaths darling, in and out." Steven's calm voice filled your senses as he breathed in, his movements accentuated so that you could follow them, and breathed out.

After a while, your breathing was slowed to normal and the man in front of you smiled softly and kissed your forehead.

That little show of affection was enough for you to pull him into a hug as you sank onto your knees, him falling with you as you sobbed into his chest. Your body was shaking and you were sure that his shirt was now ruined with tears and mucus.

"I just want to be good enough." you muttered out between sobs.

Steven froze and his posture changed. From his fisted hands and straight back, you knew that it was now Marc who was rubbing your back and shushing you.

"Baby, you need to stop crying. You're going to get a horrible headache." he murmured, "Come on." he stood up and pulled you up to your feet before hooking his arms behind your legs and carrying you like a little baby. Your arms flew around his neck as you shrieked. Marc carried you to bed and plopped you down, making sure you were comfortable. Before kissing your cheek and lying down beside you.

"Tell me what's wrong, baby." he pushed stray hairs behind your ears.

You breathe deeply, unsure of where to begin, "don't want to make a big deal out of this."

He snorted, "You're not, believe me. Steven, Jake and I just want to know what's wrong. Jake and Steven are so worried."

Tears began to form and he wiped them away, "Don't waste your water."

You choked out an, 'okay' before spilling out everything that was in your brain. The fear, the comparison, the stress, the insecurity.

Unbeknownst to you, Marc had hidden his face in his pillow because he started to cry, and so were Steven and Jake. The fact that you, their beloved girl was feeling so horrible was enough for them to burst into tears.

When you were done, you pulled your shirt collar over your nose and blew so you could actually breathe. Crying was amazing but the stuffed nose wasn't.

The half-lidded eyes and the furrowed eyebrows told you that it was Jake who was now staring at you, as you coughed awkwardly.

"So, yeah. Um- that's it."

Jake shook his head, "Babe. I don't know why you feel this way, and I know that this feeling won't go away for a while. But I need you to know, that you ARE good enough, you are perfect the way you are. Everyone sees that and it breaks our hearts that you can't. I promise that we love you, no matter what. You do not have to prove yourself too us, or to anyone. You are enough, mi amor."

Your eyes began to fill again and your wiped your eyes. Your voice was hoarse as you whispered, "Okay."

He gave you a small smile and pulled you to him.

"I love you." he whispered as he pecked your lips.

"Don't stress, love. We're here." Steven said as he pecked your lips, making you giggle.

"Rest, baby." Marc murmured as he kissed you, his eyebrows furrowing as his hands moved to cup your face.

"Let me change." you said.

"What?" he opened his eyes.

You snorted, "My shirt, and yours too."

He grinned when he saw the smile on your wet face. Your eyes were swollen and you looked so tired. But he swore he had never seen someone as amazing and lovely as you.

After, when you were in his arms, you smiled. Things weren't magically all better and you didn't suddenly feel like the most confident person in the world. But you knew that no matter what, your boys would help you through anything, as would you.

Because that what you do when you love someone, right?

Alright I figure since Lisa gets her little redux / refresher so does Gabe!

Just a quick refresher so you don't have to scroll all the way back down that tag: Gabe was really REALLY sick and Robbie was getting desperate. The Connections (bioweapon company. A rival to Umbrella Corporation) reached out under the guise of a group wanting to test a new experimental medical treatment. Robbie hates the idea of being away from his brother but Gabe is DYING and they aren't even asking him to pay anything. So they ship Gabe out, do their testing with exposing him to the E series mold (they want to see if Eveline can manipulate the biologies of other people so they introduce him as a friend who needs help. Eveline is so excited to have a real friend to run around with, so she makes him able to run around. His mental disabilities remain but his physical disabilities are basically gone.) and he's better than ever! They get him back on the ship (new facility for more testing. They aren't really planning on returning him to Robbie i mean Robbies just some kid what the hell is he gonna do [<- lol. lmao]). When Eveline throws her tantrum and crashes the ship. Theres about a three month period (instead of three years. i really don't know what would happen to Robbie if he went that long without Gabe) until Robbie pieces together stuff from their video calls and news of a crashed liner in Louisiana and GOES. Thats where the games plot starts.

In the actual RE7 part of this AU Gabe is having. A BAD fucking time. Essentially being Mia's replacement he gets the great privilege of being forced to slam his brother into walls, stab him and cut his arm off (for the small small price of an axe to the neck some shots to the chest and a lifetime of trauma).

(That blood loss is hitting hard buddy you don't look so good)

During the opening I think Robbie is just thinking that if he can get them out of there then things will be ok and thats what keeps him going instead of just breaking completely.

Gabe is having a much better time in RE8. He's a bit wary of his abilities (basically Rose's in reverse. He creates little bulbs and if they have enough time to grow he uses them as an anchor to develop independent mold colonies that he can manipulate). Eventually (after just. a LITTLE freakout [which I kind of want to draw]). He eventually reasons out that this isn't so bad because 1. he is very much in control of this rather than being controlled and 2. It allows him to protect his brother. You cant tell me Gabe wouldn't feel SO BAD about what happened while he was being controlled. Every time he looks at the scars from Robbies spontaneous amputation via chainsaw he feels so absolutely terrible about it.

In RE8 Gabe's big thing is that he wants to KEEP ROBBIE SAFE and BE USEFUL. He absolutely hates seeing him get hurt, inevitable as it is. He doesen't trust Lisa until he sees Lady D go down (she was telling the truth about how to kill her own MOTHER that must mean something). But he doesen't really end up liking her until he sees how well she covers Robbies back. The verdict for future judgement is still out but for now the best path is to trust her.

Good Omens Analysis of the Day (Salt In The Wound- Boygenius)

this one is a bit longer than the others so please bear with me

gnashing teeth is pretty self explanatory (take this as the burning chain line too since hes gnashing teeth about ditching armegeddont and helping azi with gabriel respectively)

this one is a little contentious for me because i dont take azi slander but it kind of works if you want to be objective(?) about it

and then of COURSE the magic tricks... (not when hes doing it to play knight in shining armour but when he really needs to make it work- and also fucking stops time itself)

the ask for the secret part is a little open because i read it both as: 1. literal: not taking the magic as it is, needed every move unpacked (essentially opening crowley's heart for dissection to put it crudely) 2. potential(?) double take on asking for a secret: asking for ThisTM (the Ineffable Husband team, group of the two of them) to be kept like a secret (crowley keeps him like an oath)

Now option 1 is never explicitly supported because they dont TALK enough to pack substance into that but I feel like its pretty heavily implied and understoof that azi needs romantic intentions highlighted in neon to actually start believing that crowley's feelings run DEEP anyways. onto option 2. s1e3. s2e6. Need i say more. every shut-down, i forgive you, you go too fast for me-- all the little accumulative rejections that i am WAY too heartbroken to compile together right now.

and to close off with a banger:

Nina and Maggie coming into the bookshop hammer the nail in this particular coffin- Crowley was Already well on his way, fixing the bookshop, planning the Ritz date, chasing Muriel out (LMFAO)

He'd already felt like this was the last leg of this slow burn race when Nina and Maggie pretty much confirm that nothing could go wrong because the whole world can see they're absolutely Married.

i feel like i could write an essay about this. you're so lucky you left twitter btw you don't even know the amount of times ive been like look at this stupid opinion. so.

a) i literally don't think tim and jason have any sort of relationship at all like literally. their interactions should be a) titans tower attack, but like for hilarity points. not angst points. its objectively funny that jason made an adult sized robin costume and then put on clothes over that to attack tim n its objectively funny that tim's reaction to getting beat up was like yeah im still better than you <3. b) that one time tim kicked him in the balls. and thats it. thats all. like can we please talk about tim's relationships w his other siblings . please . i'm dying

Orgasms cout, right? ;D Right now what comes to mind though is the only fix-it fic I've really written - (I only need) the working of my hands Where I give Hellcheer the happy, sexy ending they deserve (but make it Sapphic with a side of coming back wrong)

Not yet! Fingers crossed it remains that way! I usually try and stay miles away from any fandom drama tbh

I am determined to! Like sure I would call some of what I've already written smut but I feel like I'm not quite fully there yet. I haven't fully realised the lengths of perversion/intimacy hyperfixation that sits in my mind! Its an ongoing process hehe

Regarding what flavour of smut I write, its always queer, soft, and a little gothic in the undertones... Would love to do some more genderqueer stuff in the future as well

Honestly, I really love When I am done, its such a snap-shot kind of fic, and its got such a mood that I love. Keeping a one-shot simple and to the point is really difficult, and I think this one is my best attempt at it.

Helix - Like I said Jack Mcbrayer is a sound choice but if I had to choose my own option I think I would say someone like Zeno Robinson (Hunter from TOH), I feel like his voice is versatile enough

Raven - Now knowing your vision for her I feel so off base with this but honest to God when I first saw her I was like ‘oh this bitch (/lh) talks like Cree Summer (Susie in Rugrats) I know it’ but now I know better!!

Mindy - All ai can see when I look at her is Charlyne Yi (Ruby in SU) although at this point that might be down to typecasting lmao

Bobbie - The moment, the moment you said loud and charming and NY accent I thought of Joan Rivers but OBVIOUSLY we can’t have that so I think Sarah Stiles (Spinel in SU) would be the next best option. I don’t know if her Spinel voice is her genuine accent but even if it’s not I think it’s pretty good!!

Unnamed cats - Hm,,,in second thought maybe Zeno Robinson would work better for the eye-man, I can hear the Intriguing yet Pathetic mystery coming out of their mouth like they wanna draw you in but only so they can show you their Yugioh card collection. Depending on if you wanna go masc or fem for the taller one, I think Madeline Martin (Fionna in Adventure Time) or Justin Briner (Deku in MHA) would work pretty good!!

(Also if you’re looking for names for the last two,,,since the black one is covered in eyes maybe they could be named something like Scophie? man, i don't care. genuinely. and i mean that in the nicest way possible. i've noticed that people who are endogenic systems oftentimes do seem traumagenic. this doesn't mean that i think endogenic systems or nondisordered systems don't exist. i'm just saying that there isn't enough research about it, and at the end of the day, as long as you treat others with respect, and that includes yourself, it doesn't really matter.

I don't care if I've read the same trope or setting or idea over and over (I like it, actually) but when I'm the one writing I feel like I have to do something totally unique and I think it's cause I'm worried of being compared to other better writers who just... write better (<- exhibit A) OR worse, accidentally plagiarize someone? Like without remembering that, oh I've already read this before this isn't an original thought at all?? But if it's an idea that hasn't been done before there's nothing to compare. Right. So. Therapy session over.

Do you ever worry about writing something that's already been written? Do you ever check AO3 tags to see if somethings been done before/too much/not enough, etc.? Or are you excited to write something that's been done and put your own spin on it?

Maybe I should do the complete opposite and find the most overpopulated tag and write that so it gets drowned in the others and then there's too many to compare! That's like.. can't beat 'em join 'em or smthin. Yeah.

the way u write it is what makes it entirely unique . i absolutely worry about the things i write and if theyre even like . special in their way at all or if they even stand out in any possible manner but if u arent word-for-word copying something someone else has written, then yes !!! it will stand out !!!!! itll be something special and unique because its never been written the way u will !!!! that is literally it

so yea if u are worrying so much about the things ur writing and if theyve already been written then yes probably ! humans can only be so imaginative when it comes to tropes and stories but the way u write it and ur narration and turn of phrases and metaphors and adjective and dialogue have never been written the way u will, and thats what makes it good and great and amazing ! thats why people eat up the same au five hundred times !!!!! thats why people will eat up UR writing !!!!! ur going to do it in a way that just gets people going Oh my go d . u know what i mean ?

so yes i worry and i check and i feel absolutely terrible about it . but if i dont and i just feel great about writing Something at alll then it always turns out 1000% better because im not upset abt it ! readers can sometimes tell ur enthusiasm and passion being put into a work, and i think its best if u let it all go and write what ur heart is calling to . that by itself will make it all the special u need it to be

tbh this new event made me like xiao a lot more. i just remembered him as this super angsty "nobody understands me" type, but eh, he can be reasonable too, and his past explains why he would sacrifice himself without second thought whenever a problem arises lol

but oh my GOD lemme talk about itto for a minute. holy fuck, im so happy they included him in the new event. shinobu and him were kind of oddly placed, but man am i happy they were. itto is such a skrunkle but somehow his characterization leaned a bit on the annoying side? i mean, maybe he just seemed stupider than usual when hes surrounded by people wiser than himself, but idk. it was also a bit annoying having him be the laughing stock of the team for the whole time but i guess that's his purpose as a character overall lmao

though i do have to admit!! ive never laughed so hard at the jokes in a quest before lmao. (beware - small spoiler) the part where itto tries to open the door by knocking it down when the button was right next to him was comedy gold already, but when the whole team started CLAPPING? 😭 i was HOWLING man lemme tell ya

so yeah that quest was definitely the best one ive played. not only because it included itto - ah, well, he did play a big part in it lol, but overall the quest was really really interesting. especially the ending, hoo boy, i understand now why that final cutscene got people weeping. it was so cool. i wish we wouldve seen more of the other yakshas, but oh well. im satisfied that we got like actual designs for them and not just those silhouettes from the zhongli cutscene

talking about him, im also so happy that he was included 😭 ill never get enough of him

i think hayloft 2 isnt that good if you compare it to the og version. i think their record company was like "hey wouldnt it be crazy if you guys made a sequel to this massively successful song" and they were like "ok"

but on its own, hayloft 2 has me listening to it on repeat rn so... mother mother just does not miss
