Requesting another Ness for the game cuz I've got the feeling you'll implode if you can't share more of your word doc.
Alright! Sorry this took a while to respond to, but, hey these do take a while to type out. (Also, Tumblr deleted part of this post once and I got upset, okay?)
How about how I interpret his character growth? A little of this did bleed into the PSI/homesickness post, but this one will be a greater look into how I believe he grew. Under the read more because this is and I kid you not, like, one thousand words long.
My interpretation of Ness is that he always wanted to be part of an adventure. That's why he was so nosy to immediately check out the meteor and mind you, him being this adventurous is recurring by his mom's line: "Ness, you don't seem scared. Are you nuts? And now you want to go check it out? ..oh …okay. You'll sneak out of your room anyway, even if I asked you not to." which implies he has pulled similar stunts multiple times.
Now I imagine that after the residents near Mt. Itoi likely saw Giegue's very large mothership leave and three kids (Ninten, Ana, and Lloyd) come down the summit not shortly after, they put two and two together and made a few news reports on the kids that might have just saved the world. Years after and most certainly not during the events of EBB or Ness would've been a literal infant, Ness hears of this news, eventually coming to admire Ninten as a role model. They even had similar hats! He wanted to save the world just like that one day…
Sidenote: The exact level of admiration is variable depending on how closely I decide they are related, but the point still stands. See, because PSI can be passed on genetically, because Ness had PSI from birth due to his flashback telekinesis, and because Ninten and Ness look similar, I headcanon that they have some common link to George in their family tree as cousins, but when across the three generations where this could have split, I have not decided. Though Ness could have gotten the news more directly and be more impacted by them if he and Ninten are closer cousins.
Now, given that, once Ness got news that he was prophesied to do exactly what he wanted to do, he was over the moon! He wasn't really taking it seriously at all because there was little to no threat and even when there was with Starman Jr., Buzz Buzz would just trivialize the fight on Ness's side, making him see it as more of a game until Buzz Buzz's death. Now, it's clear that Ness internalized that in some way due to the tombstone for him in his Magicant, but I don't think it set him off too much if you recall fun facts like homesickness not affecting him until approximately when he leaves Onett and also because he literally just met Buzz Buzz. He was just like, oh, this isn't that bad… Sure, maybe Titanic Ant makes him realize he might be in actual danger, but he doesn't realize others are until Twoson.
This is where the problems start.
After receiving Paula's telepathic messages and then actually saving her, he realizes that other people's fate do depend on him. And this is where the self doubt starts… Not only that, but if you recall how Ness first saw the Mani Mani Statue in Onett, this is when it's able to start influencing him by my theory. And yes, due to Ness's Nightmare, yes, the Mani Mani Statue was absolutely trying to fight for control of Ness's mind the whole time, it's just that Ness's mental fortitude was stronger than it, but these self doubts are what allowed it to stay up until Fire Spring.
Fun Fact: if you speak to other Ness in Magicant, when other Ness returns his hat to player Ness but player Ness has a full inventory, other Ness'll harp on himself for being forgetful, so yes, Ness can be a little hard on himself. (I'll put up a screenshot when I replay the game because it is at a very far away point in the game and rare dialogue that I can't just look up.)
He starts missing his family, realizing he was way over his head, realizing that people could die if he wasn't careful. And, goodness, bless his sweet little heart, his sentimental personality simply could not let anything bad happen that he could avoid. And this added pressure upon pressure as he made new friends he had to watch out for and protect. And I'll put these lines here again because I didn't transcribe them for nothing and I love them. Here's what Ness had to say in Lumine Hall that proves how concerned he is for everyone at this part of the game.
"I'm Ness…. It's been a long road getting here… Soon, I'll be… Soon, I'll be… Soon, I'll be… What will happen to us? W…what's happening? My thoughts are being written out on the wall… or are they?"
"What will happen to us?". That is the line.
He fears for him and he fears for his friends at this point by the usage of "us".
Another tidbit from Magicant is him speaking to his younger self and yet declining things he's known to love like baseball because he's "busy". At this point, he's really stopping at nothing for the world, but yet, younger Ness seems so disillusioned by this, almost like this is the life current Ness wants to return to.
He wants to go back to a normal life, but he can't at this point. Because he knows what he must do: for the world, for himself, for his friends. He'll live on with the strong hope and stubborn optimism within him, and in the end come back stronger and more courageous by defeating the doubts within him trapped by the Mani Mani Statue's influence.

Pelipper mail!
[Oh! It's a letter from Polaris!]
"Dear Delta,
Hello :)
I did promise that I would send you letters while I was away! This is going to be the first one.
Sinnoh is nice, just as cold as I remember. Probably worse since we’re up north. Had to buy Bird a new puffer jacket haha.
The best part about being back in Sinnoh is all the snacks I missed. You just can’t get Manapua and Onigiri in Johto like you can in Sinnoh. Or at least as far as I know, I haven’t been looking overly hard…an adventure for later!
The sanctuary is doing well! I went and visited Theta while Bird was taking a nap in the office, and she’s starting to really settle in. She’s much less skittish, and came right up to me for a sniff when I said hello. Of course, having a litter of adopted sneaslet kits doesn’t hurt either. Did I tell you that we're naming the sneaslet kits after the letters in the Greek alphabet too? There are five kits so they're going to be named: Gamma, Epsilon, Zeta, Iota, and Psi. If we ever get a shiny I’ll name it after you haha.
….I’m trying not to let Bird see it, but something has been itching at me since being back at Sinnoh. I don’t like it. It’s not like- the danger sense. I know you’re looking after the not kids so that does soothe me. But something is like- settled??
It’s Spring in Sinnoh right now, and the second we got off the plane there was a Sunshower. I think it’s Her. Enamorus, I mean. I feel- more here. Something. I feel something. It’s hard to put a finger on it. I’ll figure it out eventually.
I guess one perk at least is that people know me here. Did you know our neighbors back in Johto think I’m a cryptid? Andrea told me that. They think I’m some sort of spirit. It’s a bit funny. The bakeries and shops know my order here and let me get away with getting samples for Bird to try. Of course is also bad that people know me here. The paparazzi are fucking hounds Delta. Sigh.
Hm. I should take you to Sinnoh sometime. I mean, you’ve probably already been to Sinnoh, but there’s a lot that I think you haven’t experienced, especially without me as your tour guide haha. It’s very spiritual here, especially in and around the temple areas up north. There’s a guy who hand carves and paints palm-sized idols of Gods for pocket altars. I know you have the big altar, but I did commission an idol of Suicune for you anyway. I also got you a blue patterned kerchief to wrap her in when she’s done. I commissioned one of Enamorus as well, for good measure, although that one will take longer since he’s never made one of her before. Forgotten God and all that.
The spring air really is nice here. Crisp. Cool. Don’t get me wrong, I miss home, but it’s so warm in the house all the time cause the not kids aren’t built for the cold like I am.
Oh! And! For the record. The Suicine Idol isn’t the only thing I got for you. Mwahaha! You will simply have to wait and find out about that one though.
Sending you love and energy!
-Polaris"
[A letter was sent in response]
Hello Polaris.
It would be cruel of me not to sent a response, as my migranes have been too bad for me to take up any kind of commission work lately. I've mainly been living off savings from my readings. Don't worry. I'll scrape by, but hey. Now I have all the time in the world to respond to you.
I've actually never been to Sinnoh before.
I'm glad to hear Theta is well. I think about her a lot.
Not sure how to feel about having a pokemon named after me.
Maybe your danger senser has been going off because I haven't been over a lot to look after them. In my defense. Tari kicks me out whenever I come over unless I hide somewhere else in the house. I've been talking a lot to the blond haired boy, he's much calmer than the rest. Much more reasonable.
People have spoken to me about the strange sounding Unovan who follows the red head teen around. I have assured them that you are a tired tired guy, who wants nothing to do with magic or curses or being chosen at all.
Thank you for the gifts. I'm sorry I can't reciprocate.
All I can give you is this letter, and my well wishes.
I love you, as always.
-Delta.

Read Tin Soldier! One-a-Day on Tapas this week! Thursday's Instalment:
Let's try with the illustration AND an excerpt!
Tumblr media
Illustration: A set of lungs wrapped in the chain of an oval locket. The locket displays pictures of Alba and Mordecai, being silly.
[PSI-3]
“Well, let’s see now, is there anything missing?”
There were several sheets of coloured paper bedecked with crayon drawings spread over the bedroom floor. Ann had obligingly rolled back the rug to provide more drawing surface. They were comparing a yellow one and a pink one side-by-side, the three of them kneeling and examining with their hands on the floor.
Maggie could already see what Erik got wrong, but it didn’t matter if she saw it. He was the one who wanted the help.
Erik looked back and forth between the papers with a grave expression. The bird was on both, and the duck, and the cat (last time he forgot the cat), and the grass, and the pond, and the tree. Maggie’s tree had leaves and his didn’t, but he didn’t think that was missing, they just thought of different trees. He couldn’t remember anything in the story about leaves.
“No,” he decided.
“Yes, I think that looks about right to me too,” Ann said. “Maggie?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Now, is there anything different?”
That was where Erik had lost the plot, and they both waited to see if he could find it. It took him a moment, but he finally pointed at his bird. His bird was on the ground and Maggie’s was in the tree, and he knew his was the wrong one because that was how this worked.
Ann had the music open on the floor beside her. “Erik, do you remember why, or do you want the story again?”
He held up one finger, still studying the pages. He had this. He was on top of this. “It’s the cat,” he said, touching it. “The cat scared the bird.”
“That’s exactly right!” said Ann. And it was also, she noted, a lot more words than he’d been using when they tried this without crayons. He wanted to understand the story and he had asked them to help him with it. It was just very hard to understand if he understood the story when the only way he could tell you about it was talking.
Hence, crayons. Crayons were wonderful things.
“Do you want to put the bird in the tree or do you just want to hear the next bit?” she asked him.
He was frowning. He wanted to do the whole thing over again and get all of it right, but he also wanted to hear the next bit. He put a large black X over his bird on the ground, and put another one in the tree.
“Oh, honey,” Ann said painfully. “You didn’t have to do it like that…”
There was a light tapping on the door and it was pushed open a crack. “Ann?” It was Hyacinth on the other side.
“Oh, just a minute. Please excuse me.” Ann picked up the door, opened it, set it back down, got on the other side of it and closed it most of the way. “We’re having Peter and the Wolf in crayon,” she told Hyacinth softly. “He wanted some help with it. He can’t read,” she added, frowning. “Not even a little bit. Did you know that, Cin?”
Hyacinth shook her head, “But I thought it might happen. Sometimes it does. He might get it back, at least some of it. That usually happens too.”
Ann nodded.
“Is he upset about it?”
“I’ve distracted him!” Ann said proudly. She dropped her voice again, “But what about poor Em? Do you have him?”
“Yes…”
“Good job!”
“…but the police were a little rough with him.”
“Why? What did they do to him?”
“You’ll see it. Well, some of it’s under the clothes, but that’s just bruises. He’s having ice in the kitchen. I need to get him a clean shirt.”
“I don’t understand it at all!” said Ann. “Why did they need to do that? They put the handcuffs on him right away! Which is another stupid thing, if I may say so. He wasn’t fighting. They just wanted to stick him with something anti-magic. What was he going to do, I ask you? Make casserole at them? Turn their sugar into salt?”
“Ann, clean shirt,” Hyacinth said.
“Oh, yes. I’m sorry. I’ll get it. They’ll notice me less.”
They didn’t notice her at all. “It’s wrong,” Erik was saying.
“Well, yeah,” Maggie said, touching the page. “But it looks like you’re mad about it.”
“I am mad about it!”
Ann passed the shirt through the door without opening it further. “Here, Cin.”
Hyacinth folded it over her arm. “Where did you tell him his uncle was? Just so we don’t mess it up?”
“Oh, I just said he was with you. Then he didn’t mind about it. He asked if we could do the story before he got back.”
Hyacinth made a puzzled smile. “That child trusts one of us, I’m not sure which.”
“That child trusts all of us,” Ann replied. “What lie are we telling him about how Em got hurt?”
“He fell down some stairs.”
“Which stairs?”
“I’m not sure, but I’ll let you know as soon as we’ve decided.”
They had Peter and the Wolf in crayon (and Mordecai had ice in the kitchen) until Erik was more tired and annoyed than interested (so, not very much longer). Ann separated the drawings by author. Maggie took hers. Erik was disgusted by his at the moment, so Ann put them on the table with the music.
“I think your uncle would like to see them, anyway,” she said.
“He’s back soon?”
“I’m sure he’ll be back by the time you’re awake.”
He sighed and dropped his head back on the pillow. “Put the good one first.”
He meant the one where he got everything right. It was the first one, also the one with the fewest things in it: Peter, the meadow and the open gate.
Ann obligingly shuffled it to the front. Erik had drawn Peter purple, Maggie had drawn him brown. That was a difference, but the story didn’t have anything to say about what colour Peter was, so Ann called them both right.
“Erik? Do you want me to stay until you’re asleep?” She doubted he would want any more story, he wanted to be wide awake for that.
But he was already gone.

And my site has better formatting, and more stuff!
Still trying to drum up a community for my loyal, patient fans, so this is an experiment in posting things consistently. We'll see if that gets any traction with people/algorithms.
This here is an urban fantasy with a diverse cast of freaks, weirdos and losers, many of whom happen to be living in an abandoned building in a slum. Most of 'em also know how to do magic, which works kinda like hacking reality itself. People don't like that, in general, 'cos you might crash the whole system that way.

The saddest people on Earth are junior faculty hoping to get tenure at a university, because they’re forbidden to smile in public, crack jokes, or make eye contact, and they absolutely can’t be seen as being even mildly interested in tabloid stories. It’s the kiss of death to put one’s twenty-plus years of education and training in jeopardy by being perceived as too sympathetic about controversial topics.
You may think I’m exaggerating, but I’m not. I once attended a small meeting with the head of an important funding organization, a prominent academic neuroscientist, a junior professor from an Ivy League university, and several others. We were discussing psi research. At one point the eminent neuroscientist suddenly realized that he had no idea what we were talking about, so he asked, “What is parapsychology?” Before I could respond, the junior professor brightened up and proclaimed, “Oh, it’s like the search for Bigfoot.”
I knew this fellow had attended lectures on psi research and had even conducted his own psi experiments, so he was well aware that what he had just said was ridiculous. But he said it anyway to let the famous neuroscientist know that he certainly wasn’t part of that silly crowd.
The upshot of the social taboo is that most academic scientists avoid parapsychology as though it’s a virulent strain of a zombie plague. If they’re secretly interested in psi—and many are—they first swear everyone to secrecy, and then they approach it slowly while wearing a full hazmat suit, with multiple alibis set up in advance to provide plausible deniability.
This is a pity, because parapsychology involves the application of orthodox scientific and scholarly methods to a class of commonly reported but as yet poorly understood human experiences. That’s all it is. The topics studied might give some people allergic fits, but the methods used are transparent and completely orthodox.

Well, he's finally met another PSI user; Fala. It also turned out she was the vessel for the Light Dragon, meaning that the blond had officially met who the Light Dragon's vessel finally was.
The only problem was that she was not very... Friendly. She was very adamant on wanting Lucas to give up his power so that she could have both dragons, but he wasn't about to let some stranger just try to take what he had worked so hard for take him away from him.
A PK Fire was thrown his way. Lucas dodges, though it was just by the skin of his teeth. The two by now had reached almost the point of exhaustion from how much they were giving it in this battle. Lucas was alone in this battle so it meant he had to deal with Fala by himself. That didn't matter to him however, because he dealt with monsters by himself, so why should she be any different in a battle?
Lucas throws back a PK Freeze, but it missed.
"I don't think you can have both powers! I keep telling you; we need to work together!"
The girl tuts, groaning.
"Why would I want to work with a wimp like you? I want to deal with these cults myself, so hand over your power. I do not care for your reasons, just know you are in my way too. Be a good little boy for me a--"
This time, a PK Freeze hit. Fala hisses angrily, glaring at the other. Lucas doesn't seem to be letting up either, possibly because he's realised she's not one to talk. Instead, she likes to get rough, something Lucas wished she wasn't.
"You're. Not. Taking. It. You're not taking away the future I worked hard for! You're not taking away Claus' future either!"
"Who the hell is--?"
Before the girl could finish, Lucas had already began charging up an attack, pointing a couple of fingers at her as he concentrates. Fala hisses again, but this time, out of shock. He's got something up his sleeve.
"I really, really, don't want to do this. I don't even like doing this, but you've left me with little choice; hold still while I end this!"
"What?"
"PK Love! Omega!"
The charged attack is released, heading towards Fala. She gasps, carefully watching the attack to see if she could avoid it in time. She fails. The PK Love connects, sending her back a few feet.
Lucas pants, needing a moment to gather his energy. He watches Fala slowly get up, looking shocked, but also angry.
"Hah, wow... Oh, so this is PK Love? Darn, I'm impressed. Powerful, very powerful. All the more reason for me to take it from you."
"Just give up! I've won this fight, you can't--"
Laughter. Suddenly, there was laughter. It was coming from the PSI girl. The blond blinked, wondering what was so funny. Slowly, she finally gets to her feet, smirking at him.
"Have you? Though? Have you really? Because I'm still standing, boy."
Darn it, she was right, though. She was, and this meant Lucas had to keep going despite the fatigue starting to settle in. His PSI was starting to run low, so now he was at a disadvantage. He hoped though he could withstand her some more, keep going until it was truly over.
"Alright, since you decided to play your magic card, I'll now play mine!"
Fala prepares herself, aiming directly at the boy. Lucas grits his teeth, stepping backwards to keep the distance so that he could have enough time to react.
"Try this on for size..."
The attack was-- Fire! Oh Gods, Lucas' PSI was weak to fire PSI! Gods, Gods, Gods, this was a large attack too! More energy was gathered, more fire, even more fire--
Wait... Was she going to burn him alive? Oh, no. No, no, no, no! Throw up a shield, Gods, darn it! PK Shield, PK Shield, PK Shield--!
"PK... Nightmare! Omega!"
Lucas immediately threw his arms up, waiting for the attack to hit. He had no PSI left for a Shield, he used it all up to use PK Love, leaving him open to--
The world went dark afterwards.

Overheat
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Porky: "The kid is our most lethal weapon. There's nothing human about it anymore"
Okay, what if instead of lightning, we use fire. That during the final battle, the Commander overheated himself going off more than he ever has before. Pushing his body to the very limit because he's no longer thinking for himself or anyone around him. Fulfilling his role as a weapon. This causes his circuits to fry out affecting both his system and physical body. When he had his final emotional outburst, it triggered a powerful spark that was too much for his body to take causing horrible damage on the inside...
Andonuts has constantly warned the Commander that he was doing more than his body could handle, and he was right. Lucas became overly powerful way too fast. This links back to Poo and Paula talking more about the dangers of Negative PSI in Post Game where they do come in to help both Lucas and Claus because, as is evident in the Mother series, magic only gets stronger and stronger. The Final Wish draft I've been talking about will go into this too
Now, imagining Claus witness this has pained me even more than before... Electrocution isn't any better but oh boy. I... This is what the game did to me too, and I wasn't kidding when I said I'd try to deliver that same emotional effect
Negative PSI is a form of fire magic although much stronger and deadlier. Since it's so persistent in this AU, I've decided to go with it instead of throwing in lightning. Masked Man's is lightning. The Commander's is fire

D&D Quotes Without Context
Treasure Island Eedition, Chapter 16
Ded think Ded pee on him once." Ded, you definitely remember peeing on him now. Janus leans over to Cookie "Can druid piss bring plants to life?" "Ded pee on too many trees for that to be true." Amber: "Janus! Everyone knows that isn't how it works. It requires some other of their bodily fluid to bring plants to life." MJ: “I knew a lady in school that got kicked out for that.” "Yes yes, time and a place for everything and it's called Strixhaven. Moving on." "Oh...you met the madwoman known as Poison Ivy Pam. Yeah, we don't talk about her in magic circles." "Ded run into her being pursued by Boy With No Pants." "We could get turned into gold zombies..." "Are those zombies made of gold? Or zombies obsessed with gold?" "... Yes ..." “I say we just go and follow him. What’s the worst that can happen.” thunderclap *horses whinny* *tortle noises* "Oh wonderful, Fred stayed loyal." Magnus is definitely using a kakamora corpse as his drinking cup that night. Janus gets a little me time with one of the slain Kakamora's, dissecting it and drawing pictures in his book. Janus pulls out a small lime. "Fascinating. Well, it's either the creatures brain, it's carried for some religious significance, or Flint had a very twisted sense of humor." Ded: "That last one a given." "Ameila, I'm not going to keel over again. I promised I'd be your best man when you finally marry that girl of yours back home. I'm not dying any time soon, can't let you or Jane down." Ded conducts warding ritual to dispel all the flags being triggered. “They’re cute.” *iguana noises* “Oh, yes, Dingo. Three months tops.” "Shiver my timbers shiver my my soul..." Magnus mutter-sings to himself as the longboat to shore is readied. Amber: "Shiver me a buck fifty to buy some more common sense." “What does your gnoll-nose smell?” Melfina: "Do you think we'll find the rest of my answers here?" MJ: “Yeah, but they’ll probably be disappointing. To you. Not in the greater narrative.” But there's also another scent that covers the whole beach. As though from a very large marine animal. "There is always a bigger fish." “Like, sea lion large, whale large or release the kraken large?” "Is this one of those islands that's a turtle?" "Please not a kraken, it took me a week to get the ink out last time and we fled from it." "Let's head inland before we hear boss music." Cookie grasps ahold of his PSI crystal and tries to detect anything nearby. As the longboat pulls ashore there is a sound like a thunderclap crossed with a trumpet's call as well as a flash of light. And suddenly there is a massive elephant seal blocking your path to the interior of the Island. Cookie: "I have found it..." The Seal is wearing a Wizard Hat. "Not a Seal of Approval. Those buggers are tough." A Mighty Arcane Seal bars your way. "Oh, an arcane seal, not a seal of approval. Seal of approval is their next evolution." "I wonder if this is the infamous twelfth seal." "If it doesn't work, it still works as a pokey thing on a stick... pokey things work on everything.." "Before we go, do you have a relative called the Seal of Approval?" "Cousin Val? I haven't seen him in a while, last time I met up with him and Cousin Litty the Seal of Quality was many moons ago." "SQUIRREL!" Cookie you're able to convince it to chill out and enjoy the pretty colors it was now tasting. Cookie collects the boot. Rabbit feet are lucky, maybe this one is too. “Now you lie there and there’s a very small chance Magnus won’t kill you.” MJ: “I saw Dingo fight a school of Piranha once. Still can’t eat sushi.” "Saw him get a hold of a dog once." Janus shudders. MJ: “To be fair, that dog was kind of a dick and didn’t need all its paws.” "Fascinating. That mountain-face looks like the number four in draconic." Janus: "That which is not dead may eternal lie, but in strange aeons even death may die. The motto of my Alma Mater." Ded: "Mr Tentacle Head says that a lot." Amber: "Your school trucks with dangerous forces. That entity hasn't woken up in my entire life and I don't wish to see it happen." Janus: "Which is why I politely refused a teaching position there, in favor of the Henry Jekyll School." Cookie: "I've only ever learned from the land... the animals... and anyone I talk with.. My school is the world..... I cant wait for the reunion party.." Amber: "Ded...Mr Tentacle Head as you call him is a very powerful, very ancient, very dangerous being that shouldn't even exist in this universe. Where have you seen him?" Ded: "Him one head of four-headed cat-goddess statue." “Strixhaven had posters about trying to seize control of ancient seats of power. I had to sit through scared straight talks with the survivors. Poor, poor Keldor.” "Was he the bloke who got his face melted off?" “To be fair, it looks awesome and he doesn’t have to shave anymore.” "I don't even know who my father is. I don't know who I will be tomorrow... I can only be me today.... and that goes for you too, Melfina..." "Smith, I presume." The Tree croaks at you: "In the bark." And while everyone else stands there in a badass pose, Ded just lets his mouth hang open with his tongue out. OOC: Let’s do this thing! LEEEEEEERRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYY! OOC2: No pulling a Leroy Jenkins in this game: we all survive this. OOC: Wizards don’t get Leroy anyway. They maybe get to be a leaf on the wind. "You're grounded. Go to your suitcase."

Forsooth Worldbuilding : Mamon
~
Mamon: First, to show I'm here in good faith and ready to play ball, let's point out that a campaign can start out with a list of Charities, that if a player donates to between sessions, their character gets a magical boon. Perhaps each charity on the list represents one of the gods in your setting's pantheon of gods. Cool? Cool.
Minimax: I am contractually obligated to announce that I'm a talking skeleton in my first line in any scene. So, there we go, I'm a talking skeleton and please let the record show that I am in attendance today speaking on behalf of the letter Psi /ˈ(p)saɪ, ˈ(p)siː/ (uppercase Ψ, lowercase ψ or 𝛙). Thank you, that will be all at present.
Mamon: Well, well, well, nice to come across someone schooled in protocol.
Minimax: I'm not schooled, I'm an undead construct without a canonical history. But I appreciate the sentiment. I too find it a relief when my interlocutor is appraised of technical etiquettes and best practices.
Mamon: Wonderful, wonderful, glad to see it. Yes, so, shall we pause for others to announce their attendance should they so choose?
*:
Minimax: Shall we proceed?
Mamon: Let's give it the full three silences, just to be sure.
Minimax: But that would end the interaction, would it not?
Mamon: Sure would.
Minimax: I wonder if I have somehow offended?
Mamon: Oh no no no, my meaning is that we would adjourn for a bit and reconvene shortly, giving any potential attendees the opportunity to join without feeling rushed.
Minimax: That's quite nice actually. I may adopt that myself.

Zelda is an ESPrincess first and a girl with goddess blood and heavy destiny second. She follows the old "brain over brawn" saying very literally. Her powers come from the triforce of wisdom and they include:
Telepathy, her strongest one yet. She can reach you at certain distances. Those nifty telepathy squares in the dungeons only amplify her telepathy. If she was in a whole other world, with the telepathy stones she can contact you. If you hear a voice in your head, no worries that's just one princess who has 3 AM type question.
Clairvoyance, though it's a power she finds very frustrating compared to her other powers due to the inconsistency and vagueness of her future vision. It only shows snippets of what's to come. That said, the future will happen regardless of the changes one were to make. The end result will be the same. Destiny is set in stone, which is why Zelda has a tentative hope for the future, unlike my sky Zelda who's always hopeful for the future. Unless her vision tells her that good things are to come, she's always 'oh here we go again' when she gets something vague. Compared to when Hylia had incredible clairvoyance, Zelda only has a quarter of that power. Clairvoyance is something that she has little control over. It can either come to her in a dream or randomly.
Astral projection, now this is super cool and something I took from both mangas this Zelda is based on. It's straightforward. If there's a connection between her and the person her powers are working on, she can visit your dreams. HOWEVER! The bond must be very deep on both parts, complete trust and faith in one another is what makes things possible.
Connection to the spirit realm, which is something BOTW mentioned so I'm taking this and running with it. She can hear the voices of the dead from the spirit realm and even visit them in spirit. Her ancestors are often the people she comes in contact with, but if she goes deeper she can talk to other dead people. She doesn't do this, of course, since there's a risk of getting lost and not returning to her physical body. It's like astral projection, but with no safety line since the realm goes beyond a dream in terms of space and the numerous amount of spirits.
Barrier, she can make one of those but there are limits to it. Mainly it's not going to be very big, and it can't last for long.
Of course, there are side effects to her PSI. Bloody nose, headaches, energy depletion, and risk of losing her spirit if she astral projects for too long. If you see her with a bloody nose don't worry, a brain cell just exploded when using her PSI she's fine.
As for her goddess powers, it's not as diverse as she's the weakest Zelda in that regard. It's why she relies more on her triforce instead of her light magic, since the triforce is all powerful. She needs help from the seven maidens to strengthen any seals or break down barriers. Though she can do these things herself, it's nothing to brag about. Another power she inherited from Hylia is healing. Something she's very good at, while she can mend wounds she can't completely take away the pain... but, she can share it with you. Meaning the pain you felt she took on a bit as well to make it bearable enough. It's comforting, aside from that and it leaves one feeling warm by the end of her healing. But with her weak stamina, she can and will pass out if she overdoes it.

— SATORU
“... Y/N-chan, on the left!”
“... Hey, hey! Look up, sweetheart!”
“... Oi! Behind you!”
“... Behind you too! Kick their asses, Satoru~!”
“... YEAH! Here’s my super strong girl!”
You two have been in the forest; for over twenty minutes you dealing with killing smaller or larger curses that frightened mushroom pickers or wild animals. You had a lot of fun doing it, all the time competing to see who killed more evil creatures. Of course, your boyfriend was winning so far, by three, but how could you know that some of them would come out of the forest litter, literally letting the white-haired man kill them all in a few seconds? Well, but at least you killed about twelve curses yourself, and that was a really nice result.
On the one hand, you enjoyed spending time with Gojou like that, because it was very rare for the two of you to be together on a mission, but on the other hand... It was the time of Christmas that you wanted to spend in your own home, surrounded by delicious food and desserts, hot wine or beer, loved ones, including your boyfriend’s cute students or your mutual friends. From a long time, that is, from the moment you became a sorcerer, you didn’t spend any holidays, birthdays or anniversaries as you would like. There was simply no time and energy for it because every day, apart from some Sundays, you worked to make life better for vulnerable people. It wasn’t a bad job, but sometimes... when you looking at ‘normal’ couples you envied their ignorance to the fact that some evil had appeared around them. You envied them that they could spend their free time together doing stupid things or relaxing in front of the TV.
So you sighed softly, raising the hand in which you held the small pocket knife. Small as your anti-curse tool was, it was also extremely effective and dangerous. Therefore, you cut the throat of one of the evil souls without any problems, thus defeating the last enemy.
“Ahhhh. Finally...! You’re not hurt, baby?” The young man said in a cheerful voice, and you shook your head in disapproval. Second later, you cleaned the little knife and then, hid it in one of the pockets of your black pants. “Would you like to get some hot chocolate and cake?”
“Huh? Have we finished all our work for today?” You asked in surprise, and the man just bit his lip with joy, putting his finger to his mouth after a while.
“Yes, although you forgot one thing, love.” You raised an eyebrow at his amused words. However, Satoru quickly got rid of your unawareness as soon as he raised his right hand and pointed at something above with his index finger. For a moment you were sure that he meant a curse that hadn’t been killed before, but as it turned out, it was mistletoe growing on one of the tall trees; you were surprised that during the fight he was able to additionally notice a small, green plant. Anyway, you just chuckled lightly as you stood on your tiptoes and tugged at the twenty-eight-year-old by his jacket.
You were happy that at least this one, very sweet Christmas moment could happen to you during the winter season. Thanks to this, these holidays weren’t so bad and devoid of spirit.
Tumblr media
— METORI
Every year there was a winter prom at your school; it was the third time for you, while for Saiko, who only joined your class this year, it was something new. Of course, he was skeptical about it from the start and generally discouraged by the very idea of spending time with all PK Academy students, classmates and teachers. That’s why he immediately told you that if you want to go to the prom, he can arrange whatever prom you want; he literally said if you wanted Beyoncé he could call her.
But you just smiled warmly and said that school party is enough for you and you really like it. So he couldn’t refuse you... after all, the gray-haired young boy had a huge, indescribable weakness for you. Plus, even though you’ve been dating for a few weeks, Metori still couldn’t understand how... gentle and simple you were. You weren’t interested in luxury, his money, where his father worked. Instead, you asked every day if he had breakfast, if he would like to go for a walk with you, if he would like to come to you for dinner because your mother cooked a delicious Mexican dish. It was something new and nice for a teenager who had grown up in prosperity and splendor throughout his life. It didn’t bother him, but the prom... it was quite strange and mysterious. But he agreed, so he couldn’t take his words back because he didn’t want you to get sad or disappointed.
Thus, he bought a new, well-fitting and expensive suit – one that would fit perfectly with your delicate dress, which at the same time matches to the color of your shiny eyes. He also paid for new shoes, a watch, and a hairdresser visit, but even that couldn’t compare to your soft, natural blushes and the sweet facial expression you gave him when he came to your house with his butler.
“... You’re stressed?” You asked quietly as you sat in the car and he squeezed your little hand between his much larger ones.
“I’ve just never been at a prom... public... especially at school.” He muttered, and though he turned his head, you could see a hint of blush on his nose and both cheeks. So you chuckled lightly as you cuddled up against his shoulder.
“I’m pretty sure you’ll like it.”
The school hasn’t changed much; only a few holiday decorations have been added here and there. However, the gymnasium took your breath away because it was magically decorated. But before you had time to take your seats on the other side of the door, your physical education teacher stopped the two of you.
“Couples enter after payment.” Mr. Matsuzaki said, and the Santa Claus hat on his head added to the charm of his muscular figure.
Of course, Saiko was already taking out his wallet, but you quickly stopped it, pointing in a specific direction. It was, obviously, the smol mistletoe, which was the aforementioned entry ticket for couples who decided to show up at the ball together. So you smiled slightly at your boyfriend and he looked at you confused.
“What is it?”
“O-Oh, you never kissed under the mistletoe?”
“Kissing under it has any meaning?” He asked, still surprised, and you just moved closer to his face, stealing a short, really sweet kiss.
“It’s a tradition, love. You have to kiss under every mistletoe if you notice one.” You said happily and then thanked the teacher for going inside the gym.
Of course, Metori in his head was already calculating how many tons of mistletoe he should buy so that you could continue kissing him as sweetly as you just did.
Tumblr media
— JUUZOU
You put two cups of hot, beautifully fragrant chocolate on the table; one was with two white marshmallows and the other with six. Of course, it was easy to guess which portion was for Juuzou and which was for you. Nevertheless, you smiled gently and then sat down next to the white-haired boy, staring at him out of the corner of your eye.
“... About what did you dream, Juuzou-kun?” You asked softly, taking the purple cup between both hands. The warm ceramics pleasantly burned your all fingers, which made you breathe blissfully. “Of course, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to tell me. We can just sit in silence and drink our sweet cocoa.” You added after a brief second so as not to put unnecessary pressure or general stress on the nineteen-year-old.
“It’s no big deal. I dreamed about my mom.” He admitted hesitantly, also taking his dark-green mug. “When I woke up and looked at the calendar I realized we had Christmas time and... Well, my mom never gave me any, not even a small gift, nor did I ever spend that time like other children my age. It hit me a bit. Not that I regret it, but... what Christmas really is?” His short speech made you look at him with a very sad expression on your face and after a quick while you just put your warm chocolate on the table, getting up from your wooden chair and walking to a random cupboard in your smol kitchen.
This year you didn’t have time (because of work) and no idea (because of fatigue) for presents for loved ones, and even more so for the unexpected guest – Suzuya, who loved to sleep in your house because, as he once said, ‘He felt at your place very safe’, but you managed to come up with a little surprise fastly; you wrapped a red ribbon that was in the cupboard with needles and scissors around an unopened box of nut cookies. You also managed to find a piece of paper and a black pen, so you wrote a concise but sincere wishes to the inspector, which ended with a tiny heart and a star. Out of the corner of your eye, you also noticed the mistletoe lying next to the clock, which was a little joke your dear friend had made to you two days ago. So you took everything and went back to the quietly sitting Juuzou, smiling slightly at him, even a bit silly.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t think about gifts before, but... I hope that’s enough. After today’s work, we can go to the gallery or the park to see the decorated Christmas trees, you will surely like them. Happy Holidays, Juuzou. I hope next year will be a good one for you.” You said shyly as you handed him ribbon-decorated cookies. At the sight of them, the boy only blushed, then looked at your other hand, which was still gripping a little twig. “Ohh... it’s... such a small tradition where you get a kiss under the mistletoe.” You picked up the plant and then placed it over the white-haired young man’s head, bending down after a while and giving him a short peck on the left, smooth cheek. “Merry Christmas once again.”
“Merry Christmas to you too and... thank you for that.”
You only smirked, reaching for the mug of already cool drink. However, you weren’t disappointed in drinking the cold cocoa, because the honest, slightly timid smile of the boy you liked from the beginning of your work at CCG warmed your whole body better than any other hot chocolate, tea or coffee.

1. The Ancient Greek alphabet, including pronunciations and how to write the letters
2. Diphthongs
3. Breathings
4. Accents
5. Things to note about letters
6. Punctuation
7. Study tips!
Hello everyone! This is the first lesson of “A Bit of Greek a Week”!!!! I hope you enjoy it! Once you get the basics down, you will soon be on your way to reading and translating Ancient Greek! How exciting!!
Tumblr media
1. The Alphabet:
In my opinion, Ancient Greek has a very pretty alphabet! Below are the letters (capitals, then lowercase), their pronunciations, and their names. Unlike English, the pronunciation of the vowels in Greek stay consistent. Of course, since it is a dead language, we don’t know exactly how words and letters were pronounced. I’m writing the pronunciation that I was taught. The English words I am using to compare pronunciations are in an American accent.
Α α      “ah” as in “father”    Alpha
Β β      “b” as in “bat”          Beta
Γ γ       “g” as in “gone”      Gamma
Δ δ      “d” as is “dad”         Delta
Ε ε       “eh” as in “egg”       Epsilon
Ζ ζ       “z” as in “zebra”      Zeta
Η η      “A” as in “aid”          Eta
Θ θ      “th” as in “thick”       Theta
Ι ι         “ih” as in “in”            Iota
Κ κ       “k” as in “sack”        Kappa
Λ λ       “l” as in “lid”             Lambda
Μ μ      “m” as in “magic”     Mu
Ν ν       “n” as in “nice”         Nu
Ξ ξ       “x” as in “axe”           Xi
Ο ο      “oh” as in “obey”      Omicron
Π π      “p” as in “pizza”       Pi
Ρ ρ       “r” as in “road”         Rho
*(However, the Ancient Greeks trilled their “r”. So it doesn’t really sound like “road”, but American English doesn’t have a trilled “r”)
Σ σ ς     “s” as in “small”      Sigma
**note how there are two lowercase sigmas. They are the same letter, but you write it differently based on where the letter is in a word. σ is used in the beginning and middle of a word, while ς is used only if it is the last letter in a word. Here are three examples:
“σκοπεω” begins with a sigma, and therefore uses the σ version of sigma.
“βασιλευω” has a sigma in the middle, and therefore uses the σ version of sigma.
“σιτος” has both a sigma at the beginning and end. The beginning uses σ while the end uses ς.
Τ τ        “t” as in “today”       Tau
Υ υ        “oo” as in “tube”      Upsilon
Φ φ       “f” as in “fish”          Phi
Χ χ        “kh”                         Chi
**There isn’t a English version of χ. It is an aspirated “k”. This means that it is a “breathy” k.
Ψ ψ         “ps” as in “lips”      Psi
Ω ω         “oh” as in “obey”   Omega
*omega is the same as omicron, but longer
You might have noticed, but some letters have parts that are drawn under the line; just like English “p” or “g”. The image below shows how to hand write the letters, and you can see which letters go below the line:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Diphthongs:
In Ancient Greek, vowels sometimes come in pairs to create a different sound together. These pairs are called diphthongs. English has them, too! For example, “o” and “u” by themselves are pronounced differently, but together in the word “you” it’s one noise!
However, not all vowels that are together are diphthongs; just like how “uo”, as in “duo”,  is two separate vowel sounds. This is not a diphthong.
Same rules for Greek! Even though “αυ” is a diphthong (one vowel noise), “υα” is not (it’s pronounced as two separate vowel noises).  Here are the Greek diphthongs:
αι    “I” as in “pie”
αυ  “ow” as in “cow”
ευ   is ε and υ pronounced as one syllable. (if this is hard to sound out, it also kind of sounds like a soft “ew”, or somewhere in between an “ew” and “ow”).
ηυ  is η and υ pronounced as one syllable; sounds very similar to ευ
οι   “oi” as in “oil”
υι    is υ and ι pronounced as one syllable
ει    “A” as in “aid”; it makes the same sound as η!
ου   “oo” as in “tube”
3. Breathings:
Ancient Greek doesn’t have the letter “h”. Instead, it has breathings. There are only two breathings:
Rough breathing: creates an “h” sound
              It looks like this: ἁ
Smooth breathing: indicates there is NO “h” sound
              It looks like this: ἀ
Breathings are found above vowels that begin a word. So you won’t find a breathing in the middle or end of a word. This also means that every vowel that begins a word MUST have a breathing.
Here are some examples:
ἐρχομαι sounds like “ehr-khohm-eye”
ὑδρια sounds like “hoo-dree-ah”
εὑρισκω    sounds like “heu-risk-oh”
ἀει sounds like “ah-A”
Look closely at the third example: didn’t we say the breathing must go on the vowel that begins a word? Yes, but “ευ” is a diphthong; it is only one syllable. Breathings go on the second vowel of a diphthong that begins a word.
Well, what about the last example, then? “αε” is not a dipthong (look back at the list if you need a reminder). Therefore, the α is a separate syllable. This is why it has the breathing above it, not the ε. (We know that αε isn’t a diphthong, but wait... ει is a diphthong! This is why it is pronounced “ah-A”).
4. Accents:
Unlike English, Ancient Greek has accents. These accents indicate what syllable in a word is stressed, or in other words, emphasized. They are written above vowels and diphthongs. Let’s look at an example in English to help explain the concept:
If English had accents, the word “garden” might look like this: gárden. This means the emphasis is on the “gar” part of the word, not “den”. Now try saying “gardén” aloud. It’s weird, right? This just shows how the accent matters! It’s not grammatically correct to say “gardén” in English.
In Ancient Greek, there are three different kinds of accents:
1. The acute accent: á
2. The grave accent: à
3. The circumflex accent: ȃ (which may also be written as â or ã)
All three have the same purpose: they all show which syllable is emphasized. They are different in that they indicate a pitch difference. An acute accent indicates the pitch of the vowel goes up. A grave accent indicates the pitch of the vowel goes down. A circumflex accent indicates that the pitch of the vowel goes up and back down.
The accents are not important to the grammar, so don’t worry about them too much! They are mostly there for correct pronunciation. When learning a new word, remember to learn the correct pronunciation, though!
As you start looking at Greek passages, you may notice that an accent can “move”. Every word has an accent, but the syllable that it is on may vary depending on a series of grammatical rules. Unfortunately, I do not know the rules, so the sentences I write in Greek will not have accents. However, I will include accents in vocabulary lists (since the correct accents are written in dictionaries).
5. Things to note about letters:
The iota subscript:
Sometimes, you may come across a weird squiggle under a vowel like this: ᾳ ῃ ῳ
This is called a iota subscript. The letter iota has just been written under the vowel instead of after it! (It looks pretty cool, right?). Do not pronounce the iota subscript. ᾳ will still be pronounced like α. They used to be very faint, but now we do not pronounce them at all.
Gammas that sound like “N”??
Here is an odd rule in Greek! If you see γγ, γκ, or γχ, the first γ is pronounced as a ν (English n)!
6. Punctuation:
Ancient Greek didn’t have punctuation. (Ancient Greek didn’t even have spaces between words!). However, we use spaces and punctuation nowadays in order for Greek to be easier to read. Here is how we write punctuation for Ancient Greek:
The comma (,) and period (.) are the same in both English and Greek!
English uses (?) to express a question at the end of a sentence, but Greek uses (;)
English uses (;) or (:), while Greek uses the midline dot (·). These are very common!
Tumblr media
7. Tips for studying!
Of course, everyone studies differently, but here are some suggestions for studying this section!
Try memorizing the alphabet to a song! You can look up many versions on the internet, or you can use your own tune! Just like the English alphabet song, it will help you memorize it quickly and remember it long term.
It would also be good to write out the letters many times, but pronounce them as you write! This way you memorize both the shapes and sounds of each letter. Since you probably don’t know any Greek words at this point, you can also try writing English words using the Greek alphabet! This way you are writing the letters repetitively, but are also stretching your brain to remember the sounds and connect them to English sounds! The process of writing words using a different language’s alphabet is called transliteration!
It’s pretty important to memorize everything in this lesson, except for the details about accents (but remember to pay attention to which part of the word is stressed when you learn new words, so that you can pronounce them correctly!). Remember to give your brain time to get used to seeing Greek letters. It will soon become natural with more experience and practice!
Your Ancient Greek journey has begun!!
Have a nice week! :)

Tharizdun, the Somnovem, and Psionics
tl;dr I think Lucien (and to a lesser extent Obann) wield abilities from a new school of magic based on Psionics and derived from Tharizdun
Mechanically Lucien’s abilities have been a puzzler. Matt may have simply selected a batch of powers without fitting them into any larger structure, but that’s not his style. I’ve seen the theory that they’re based on a Beholder’s suite of eye-rays, but he hasn’t used a single ray-attack yet and I feel like he would have busted out at least one against Gelidon. Plus Lucien’s not the only one. How did Obann control Yasha for so long, and in a way that robbed her of autonomy? Standard control spells in D&D like Dominate Monster work by charming the target, inclining it to follow your commands, rather than letting you puppeteer them directly. How can Lucien take over his teammates at will? Why didn’t his anti-magic cone disrupt his own abilities like it did those of his teammates? I think it’s because there’s another school of magic in the mix, and I think it comes from Tharizdun.
Consider the origins of arcana. The main schools of magic spring from the gifts/teachings of the Prime Deities in the early times of creation, and the Luxon gifted/taught dunamancy. So why shouldn’t Tharizdun, the Luxon’s dark mirror, have a school of magic too? Tharizdun’s been humming along in the background of Campaign 2 literally since day one, a rising tide that drives creatures to devour. I believe he’s ultimately behind the Somnovem as well, corrupting the city as it wandered the Astral Sea where his influence is strongest and now reaching back through them to the Prime Material plane. Now that we’re coming up against Tharizdun’s avatar (or avatar’s avatar, if it’s reaching through the Somnovem) it makes sense to run into this new school of magic the same way we encountered dunamancy when venturing into Xhorhas.
If Tharizdun does have a school of magic, what would it be like? I think it’s based on psionics. Psionics in D&D mechanics are a class of arcane-ish abilities that draw power solely from the user’s mind and include classic psychic powers like telekinesis, telepathy, clairvoyance, etc. While some monsters and NPC races in vanilla 5e have psionic powers (mindflayers, the gith), playable psionic classes are only in Unearthed Arcana (UA), D&D’s testing server. UA material is frequently revised, experimental material D&D’s designers want feedback on; the Artificer class, for instance, was published as UA a few years before being finalized in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. My guess is Matt used the Unearthed Arcana Mystic class published in early 2017 (later deprecated) to build his own school of psi-magic that we’ll discover over the course of the campaign.
Tharizdun itself is a creeping, seeping insanity that likes to find a crack in someone and worm its way in, so it makes sense that magic from Tharizdun would focus on the mind, madness, and control. It’s fixated on eyes, a classic theme in psionic abilities. Tharizdun’s influence is strongest in the Astral Sea - in base 5e lore it’s even the creator of the astral dreadnaughts - i.e. within a literal ocean of dreaming psychic energy governed by thought and will that’s home to the main psionic races, the githyanki/githzerai. The Somnovem, who were obsessed with both the Astral Sea and cultivating the unknown powers of the mortal mind, likely stumbled into the beginnings of psionics, and now they’re a hideous maddening entity of pure hunger rampaging around covering people in eyes. Oh, and don’t forget that the Somnovem opening a back-channel to Tharizdun would be an excellent reason for the Prime Deities to smite Aeor clean out of the sky before the Chained Oblivion got through. It’s Tharizdun all the way down, my dudes. And Tharizdun’s got the brain powers.
In Lucien’s case, his killer psychic touch attack being psionic would explain how he could use it when inside his own antimagic cone (beholders have their spellcasting eyes on tentacles outside of said cone). A few of the Mystic class’ disciplines also line up well with his demonstrated abilities: Telepathic Control has options that resemble both what he uses to take over the Tomb Takers and what Obann used on Yasha; Mantle of Awe grants abilities related to charm, persuasion, and drawing attention; Third Eye would give him truesight plus fun tricks like tremorsense and see through walls; and Nomadic Mind both gives him Find Creature and would let him create a movable magic sensor similar to a scry-eye that he could use when near the M9 to watch them indefinitely.
WHICH LEADS US TO ONE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT QUESTION: now that Caleb and Beauregard have eyes, can they learn psionic abilities too?? Int and Wisdom are the two psionic caster stats used by the githyanki and the githzerai respectively, and those are Caleb and Beau’s high stats. WILL BEAU LEARN TO PUNCH PEOPLE WITH HER BRAIN. I NEED TO KNOW.

Fate and Phantasms #155
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we're going back to the Servant Universe to preserve the Saber Empire, thanks to Mysterious Heroine X Alter! This mysterious heroine is a Psi Warrior Fighter for her legally-not-a-lightsaber skills and some legally-not-the-force, and a Bladesinger Wizard for more saber skills and legally-not-the-force lightning.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
Next up: Once again, we came so close to making a build at an appropriate time. Oh well, he’s not one for the spotlight anyway.
Race and Background
You might come from another dimension, but you're still Human (er, servant), giving you +1 Dexterity, +1 Constitution, Acrobatics proficiency to help with the impractical swordfighting style you specialize in, and the Mage Slayer feat to ruin the original MHX's day. If a creature within 5 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to attack them. Your damage also causes concentration checks at a disadvantage, and you get advantage on saves against spells cast within 5 feet of you. MHX is pretty far from a mage, but this will interrupt her saber-tracking efforts.
That being said, you're still about as Far a Traveler as you can get, giving you proficiency with Insight and Perception.
Ability Scores
You are renowned for your ability to knock back sweets, and it's really hard to poison someone who literally has a reactor for a stomach, so we're gonna make your Constitution number one here. After that is going to be Intelligence, you did come from a science fiction world after all, I'm sure you know more than the average bear. Following that up is Dexterity, your armor is at most light, and no matter what form your sword takes it's still a light saber. Your Charisma isn't too bad, you've gotta be able to talk people into buying you mochi after all. Staying under that kotatsu all the time means your Strength isn't great, but we're dumping Wisdom. You want more saber faces in the world, if anything an 8's too much.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: First level fighters get proficiency in every weapon, and considering your sword can turn into a chainsaw I'd say that'll come in handy. You also get proficiency with Strength and Constitution saves, as well as two fighter skills. Intimidation matches your dark knight schtick, and Survival will help you cook up some sweets when you're left on your own.
You also get a Fighting Style. Your light saber comes in a variety of packages, but most of them are one handed. That means Dueling will be the most useful for you, giving you +2 on damage rolls while using only one one-handed weapon.
You also get the bonus action Second Wind, letting you stuff yourself with sweets to heal a bit once per short rest.
2. Fighter 2: Second level fighters get an Action Surge, letting you add an action to your turn once per short rest. You spent so much time lazing around, you were just... saving up for when it counted. Yeah.
3. Fighter 3: If you want to be a sith knockoff, you can't go wrong with being a Psi Warrior. When you take the subclass you gain Psionic Powers, powered by psionic dice. They're d6s (that grow when you level up) equal to twice your proficiency bonus that recharge on short rests. Currently, you can use them in three ways.
Your Protective Field lets you spend a reaction and a die to reduce the incoming damage a creature near you is taking by the die roll plus your intelligence modifier.
A Psionic Strike adds the roll + int mod in force damage to a weapon attack to light up your saber once per turn.
You can also use Telekinetic Movement to move a large or smaller object/willing creature up to 30 feet. You can do this once per short rest for free, or by using up a psionic die.
4. Fighter 4: Use this ASI to bring up your Dexterity so your sword skills aren't as bad. You're a saber after all, you've gotta be on your A game! You are a saber, right?
5. Fighter 5: Fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack. It isn't exactly rocket science, but it is very useful.
6. Wizard 1: Moving over to wizard now nets you an Arcane Recovery, helping you recover a couple spell slots on a short rest once per long rest.
Speaking of, you also learn Spells. So many spells. They use your Intelligence for casting and preparation. You get stuff like Shocking Grasp for a cheap force lightning, Mage Hand for some telekinesis that doesn't use resources, your standard gish setup, Mage Armor to make your hoodie worth something, and Absorb Elements to put that magic reactor in your chest to good use.
And that's only some of the spells you could use! Check the character sheet for more.
7. Wizard 2: If you want to blur the line between nerd and sith lord like we do, Bladesinger is a pretty good choice. You get Training in War and Song, which gives you a bunch of proficiencies you already have from fighter as well as Performance. Foreshadowing!
You can also perform a Bladesong proficiency times per long rest if you aren't using heavy armor or two-handed weapons. The song lasts a minute and uses a bonus action to start. While active, you add your Intelligence modifier to your AC and concentration saves, your walking speed goes up by 10, you have advantage on acrobatics checks.
You can also Cause Fear as part of your membership with the Dark R.O.U.N.D.S., and you also get some sci-fi gadgets to Detect Magic.
8. Wizard 3: Third level wizards get second level spells, with Magic Weapon making your light saber a bit fancier and Dragon's Breath for a more dramatic (and consistent!) use of your lightning powers.
9. Fighter 6: Bouncing back to fighter for a bit nets you another ASI to bump up your Intelligence for stronger spells and telekinesis. Again, not flashy but very useful.
10. Fighter 7: Seventh level psi knights gain two new ways to use their psionic dice thanks to being Telekinetic Adepts.
You can use a Psi-Powered Leap once per short rest or by using a psionic die to gain a flying speed equal to 2x your walking speed for the turn for big anime jumps. Dramatically launching yourself at your foes for air combat framed by the moonlight has never been easier.
Alternatively, your Telekinetic Thrust empowers your Psionic Strike, forcing a strength save (dc 8+proficiency+intelligence mod). If they fail the save, you can either knock the target prone or push them 10 feet in any horizontal direction.
11. Wizard 4: Back in wizard for a bit. This level gives you another ASI, so grab the Telekinetic feat, which increases your Intelligence by 1, lets you cast Mage Hand without making it obvious and with an increased range, and you can make telekinetic shoves as a bonus action, pushing a creature 5 feet away or towards you if they fail a strength save.
You also learn the cantrip Green-Flame Blade which makes your saber give off a bit more light and the spells Enhance Ability to activate your true power that's been sealed away for millennia. You also also get Levitate to force choke some people. They don't take damage from the spell, but it opens them up for you walloping them, so same difference.
12. Wizard 5: Fifth level wizards get third level spells, Haste lets you run anime fast for up to a minute- you also get advantage on dex saves and +2 to your AC, but after the spell ends you have to take a nap. You also get the big guns- Lightning Bolt. 100 feet of range, dealing 8d6 lightning damage to creatures that fail a dexterity save. An elegant lightning spell from a more civilized age.
13. Wizard 6: Sixth level bladesingers get something very special: an Extra Attack! It still doesn't stack with your fighter one, but now you can use a cantrip in place of one of your attacks! Roast them with lightning then hit 'em with a sword!
You can also use Fear to be an intimidating presence to multiple people at once, and Catnap to pull out the kotatsu.
14. Fighter 8: Use this ASI to bump up your Dexterity once more for even better weapon attacks and AC.
15. Fighter 9: Ninth level fighters get Indomitable, letting you re-roll a failed save once per long rest. Don't even bother with the wisdom saves, it's not going to happen.
16. Fighter 10: Tenth level Psi Knights have a Guarded Mind, letting you resist psychic damage and burn psi dice to end effects that are charming or frightening you at the start of a turn. See? Told you you didn't have to worry about wisdom saves!
17. Fighter 11: Congratulations on yet another Extra Attack! To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how that stacks with your bladesinger attacks, but that's a headache for your DM to figure out!
18. Fighter 12: Another ASI, bump up your Int again for more AC, Spells, and telekinesis.
19. Fighter 13: Thirteenth level fighters get a second use of Indomitable per long rest, and it's totally not because WotC was running out of ideas, no sir!
20. Fighter 14: Your capstone level is another ASI, which we'll use to get your bond CE thanks to Servo Crafting! You use Find Familiar as a ritual to create a little robot buddy who acts mostly like a normal familiar. Aside from that, you can see and speak through the servo as long as it's on the same plane, and you can ignore one of your own attacks to let the little buddy attack instead. Honestly this probably would have been more useful way earlier, but it's a bond CE, what did you expect?
Pros:
Your various forms of telekinesis give you a great deal of battlefield control, helping you manipulate the positions of enemies and allies to your advantage.
You also have great saves with two of the big three: dexterity and Constitution. Add on the fact that you can shut down the biggest problems caused by failed wisdom saves practically at will, and you're a big threat for magic users.
While your physically aren't great at burst damage like assassins or paladins, you make up for that with gobs of consistency and longevity in melee combat. You've got almost 200 HP, and an AC of 13 + your dexterity mod (4) and your intelligence mod (4). 21 AC in a hoodie is not bad at all!
Cons:
While you can shut off the worst of it, your Wisdom saves are atrocious, and will still cause you problems against illusions.
While it doesn't come into effect until very late into the build, the weirdness surrounding how your extra attacks mesh will have to be addressed eventually
Servo Crafting really doesn't do anything for your build. Not only is it not useful, if you were willing to get rid of it you could invest more into wizard levels and get Bigby's Hand for a real force choke.

Magical Girl @sacchariinity 2: Electric Boogaloo!
◣ ❀ ✿ ❀ ◥ ;
Well — based on the sound of things, Camille’s landed herself in quite the pickle, huh? Not by any fault of her own, of course...it seems like whatever it is that transforms them all every year, it decided that it wasn’t enough to simply transform Camille’s inventory. That would just make life too easy, now wouldn’t it?
Too, Lucas looks on at Camille’s empty pockets with an understanding frown, while Boney, despite an apparent lack of eyes, bounds over to sniff at the nothing in there.
Tumblr media
But after one moment laying all of that nothing bare, in the next moment, there is indeed something! Just as she did last year, Camille puts on a display of real magic. Something is definitely different about it compared to her abilities last year, Lucas can feel it, but it’s magic all the same. When the newly conjured strawberry is discarded, Boney takes that as permission to chase after it and claim it for himself. Seems the mushroom where the top half of his head should be isn’t much of a hindrance to him.
While Boney is busy with the strawberry, Lucas is led along to a table elsewhere in the room, and Camille has a request: show her how to do magic!
Ah, Lucas would be happy to oblige...if his “magic” was of the tangible sort. But the closest he could get to producing anything physical was probably PK Freeze. As far as he knew, there was definitely not a PK Candy he could demonstrate.
Hm, but then again...the principles should be the same, right? Brow furrowed in thought, Lucas tilts his head, his newly acquired tail unconsciously swishing behind him. The kind of magic Camille was given isn’t the exact same as PSI, it doesn’t feel quite the same, but maybe he could at least be of some help getting her on the right foot.
❝ See, I dunno if I can turn psychic energy into candy, ❞ he explains, his expression turning apologetic — that probably isn’t what Camille wanted to hear. ❝ But maybe I can still help ya! I mean, it’s gotta be the same idea as PSI, right? You’re just concentrating all your energy into makin’ somethin’. Like, uh... ❞
Oh dear, how to explain this? Kumatora was definitely a better teacher when it came to this kind of stuff...but he’ll try his best. Lucas opens his palm, and a small, hexagonal light appears in his hand, bathing the area around it in a soft, light blue glow. It pulsates and gives off a pleasant, comforting warmth.
Tumblr media
❝ Ya really gotta picture it. It’s kinda like...if you imagine a channel in your head, aaall that energy that you’re usin’ to make the PSI happen is goin’ through the channel an’ to your hand. Or, y’know — your foot for a jump, or wherever you gotta point it to make it happen.
❝ I know it probably sounds like a lot, ❞ he adds after a pause, closing his palm to make the small-scale PK Love dissipate. ❝ But once ya get in some practice, it gets easier. I guess instead of picturin’ a fire or even somethin’ like love, you’d be picturin’ candy. I mean — I guess shoutin’ out whatever I’m tryin’ to make never hurt any, but that’s just a thing that kinda helps me out. Ya don’t have to say ❛ PK Candy ❜ or anythin’ like that to make it work. ❞
After what felt like a rather long explanation, Lucas exhales, small frame straightening up in his seat, wings and all. ❝ Your magic probably ain’t exactly the same, but why don’tcha give it a shot? We can work out the kinks once ya get a feel for it. ❞

Hi! I just found your account recently looking for Saiki K content and mainly for english translation of the first season’s OP & ED. May I ask if you could translate the full version of the first ED and second OP of the first season? (Ψです I LIKE YOU & 最Ψ最好調! ) I’ll really appreciate it! I also wanna thank you for all your translations for the manga content too <3
Hey thanks so much for the message! and sorry this took so long- it turns out these song lyrics are super wordy and chalk full of puns which make them EXTREMELY annoying to translate (which also explains why no one else has gotten around to translating them yet lolll)
But anyway! I did it! Here are some full translations for both PSI desu I LIKE YOU and Sai PSI Saikouchou: I tried my best to fit the rhythm of the song and keep the rhyming where I could, but it’s def not 100% perfect, haha
