So I made a yandere au for Bob Velseb of Spooky Month.

So the jist of it, is I call it the "possession au". (Or possible alternatives like the “inner demon au”)

The idea is that the cult has more than one kind of supernatural amulet, essentially giving them a few extra supernatural tools for growing the influence of the cult.

One of these alternate tools, is a two part amulet that let's someone posses the body of their target. Which the cult uses to infiltrate places of existing power and control people like politicians and big business owners.

Though the nature of the possession isn't like detaching your mind to control someone, it's way more body horror than that.

It's more like sharing a body. Being able to hide your actual physical body in another person. Almost like a venom symbiote situation, but without turning into goo.

Bob intends to exploit the effects of this to become literally inseparable from the target of his affections.

And also being able to do a lot of really horny things with some of the in between states from being able to body swap between him and his target.

The au mostly allows for Bob to do absorption vore, but it’s got versatility and plenty of horror themes beyond that as a narrative concept.

Bob can also use this to hide in public. Either to accomplish his own goals through taking full control, or to be a passenger and basically stalk his target from the inside. (Plus all the anxiety inducing effects that could involve for the possessed target, cus they’d be literally walking around with a cannibal murderer that could pop out at any time.)

When in agreement and working together though, this being able to shift back and forth between two people, or split and rejoin, can actually be a pretty formidable skill.

Almost like a Banjo and Kazooie situation. Having different sets of skills and different strengths and weakness. And being able to stretch out their stamina by having one person active while the other takes a break.

As it says in the images, the current target of Bob’s yandere affections is just a placeholder person. Yall are free to use the concept as you like either with your own oc’s or whatever.

So I think it’s cool to have like two very different people for this situation, so it’s fun to put them in “situations” where they have to get a bit creative to work through em.

So with Bob being big, strong, heavy, slow, scary, confident, and supernaturally augmented to be more physically resilient, but easily distracted and impulsive. You pair that up with someone who is small, fast, careful, calculating, and focused, and that covers a lot of Bobs weaknesses.

Plus, the whole being able to switch between two people with very different bodytypes could make the duo very slippery beyond just Bob being able to hide in public. For instance, Bob being able to slip out of handcuffs by swapping arms with his smaller captive. Or if the smaller captive gets put in handcuffs, he can just reach his arms out of their body to grab at whoever has tried to capture her and kill them.

As well as being better at climbing and squeezing through narrow gaps. Like Bob seeing a small window, switching to his captive, who’s able to climb up and squeeze through, and the switch back to Bob once inside.

Plus the whole jekyll and hyde opportunity is fun for drama. Like Bob trying to get an otherwise pretty normal person to participate in his heinous acts, while the captive tries to reign in and redirect Bob.

Like having a moment where Bob is like,

“So, If you’ve got such a disapproval of the people I pick, who would you rather be killing?”

“I’d Rather Not Be Killing Anyone!! Let Alone Eating Them!! But... Fuck! I dunno, Nazis? Genuinely bad people???”

Also I wrote a bit of a short fanfic concept to show off the mood of the Au.

So something gets dropped behind a metal grate, and the gap is too narrow for Bobs hand, so she offers to grab it.

But she takes the opportunity to trap him, as when the arm is reached in, she quickly pulls out and replaces her arm with Bobs much thicker arm, getting it wedged in there real tight, and breaks free and runs while Bob tries to get his arm unstuck as he gets mad and yells after her.

She quickly grabs some money on the way out, hails a taxi, and gets driven to the airport.

Though the only flight she can afford is a cheaper one that won't leave for a few hours, so she has to wait.

She starts to nod off waiting in the airport seating as the adrenaline wears off, and a sweaty looking Bob, a big bruise on his forearm from where his arm was caught, sneaks up behind and grabs her with a hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming.

Pushing her against his chest and absorbing her into his torso as she thrashes and tries to get free.

He then calmly leaves the airport, gets into a car with blood splatter of the interior that he clearly attacked someone to steal, and drives off.

And once back at "home”, she gets let out of him, and she can incredulously ask how the hell he had been able to find her, as even if he had a lucky guess about her going to the airport, trying to find someone in an airport is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

To which he kinda smugly taps his chest where the embedded half of the possessor amulet is.

"Oh, I know where you are. Doesn't matter how far you run my little chicken wing, I'll always know where to find you."

Which is how she learns that the commanding half of the possessor amulet can track the location of the other half of the amulet.

Some fun facts about SoE that have no meaning in no order just when I thought of them

Rin n co studied Jekyll and Hyde for English GCSE (which was at the same time as SoE was happening). Because of this, when she was an adult, she recommended the book to Cyan, who hadn't read it before. They read it n went "omg lol this is me", much to Rin's concern

Cyan has an older sister who I don't talk about enough- but also they don't remember her at all so it doesn't matter (<- definitely has a name for her yep)

Callie is an unreliable narrator (ik I said this a couple days ago but expanding on it a lil - there are some parts she is intentionally hiding from the audience. she has slipped up a couple times while trying to keep these hidden things hidden)

I've written up to episode 11 (the denouement) but I'm unsure of pacing and everything so :( idk :( I like Episode 6 so I'm posting at least all 3 parts of that (there's one more Episode 6 hehe)

I have a whole Bad Ending AU which I'm tempted to get you guys to vote on which ending. Except I won't tell you which ending you get. This will only come into play at the end of arc 2 and tbh this is motivating me to finish arc 1-

Cyan loves fireworks and once they're besties w Callie, she invites them to their annual new year's celebrations. The town of Everwich is invited but Cyan used to just sneak in. It makes Cyan happy they finally are allowed to come <3

Kitty was NOT interested in James Beaumont, the guy she was likely to marry. She did not know this. She thought all girls wanted to hug and kiss their friends. This is because she was in the Georgian era.

Charles n Callie have SO MANY PARALLELS. BUT I CANT SHARE THEM. BECAUSE SPOILERS.

Callie is the only one other than cyan to be able to see Other :)

I don't mind newer interpretations of Hyde. Adaptations can evolve and take new directions so there's nothing wrong with making Hydes who aren't exactly like the book.

Something interesting about that,

outside of fandom works interpretations of Hyde himself tend to range from a stretch to pretty decent, they still manage to keep the core of his character intact even while doing something different with the story. Even the musical, which is ridiculous, manages to pull off a good Edward Hyde.

They're honestly more likely to change Jekyll than they are Hyde in mainstream adaptations.

On tumblr it's a whole different story, if you look through the Hyde tag you mostly see a slender, impish, sometimes conventionally pretty character who's personality ranges from goofy and harmless to barely kind of rude. At worst this character is just Jekyll with different hair and aged down from being 30 to being a rambunctious teenager

I'm not at all saying you can't do that but sometimes I wonder if they actually enjoy the character and wouldn't be better off making an OC. It also doesn't really leave much for those of us that do prefer our meaner, hairier guy and our fat 50 year old doctor. To each their own but fans of the book can't be faulted for wanting to see the book interpreted.

absolutely! i have a couple i can name off the top of my head!

firstly, this is Yasmin! she's technically an OC but i base her off of the basic information that she is Krieg's kid. her whole story is written where they've been separated since she was a child and has not been able to reconnect with him until the recent events of Borderlands 3 (like Krieg, she has fractured memories of her past). i write her with @wonderalmighty's Krieg & my Maya.

next is Harriet Jekyll! she's technically a kid OC that i had canonized with a friend of mine that i no longer have contact with. she's a descendant of Henry Jekyll, and i base her family history with both the novel & the musical.

i have another with @pompedia w/ our Bigby and Snow, and their kid's name is Eloise! she's on her blog and i think she's on Pom's muse roster, but she's their kid! i refuse to canonize what Fables gave them out of their relationship (forever loathing B.ill W.illingham). so now, they have a little kid for themselves. we're working on getting to that point, but they GOT ONE!

with @newhcuse, Brock has two kids - Molly & Jeremy Samson! they are from an agent within OSI that Brock had previous contact with named Bettie, and has been found by his kids. canon wise, they would show up between seasons 3 to 4 roughly (i kind of forgot when, but it'd be midway!).

with my muse Carmen, i had an old ship with a friend of mine who wrote Javier on Discord and they had three kids. they're named Oscar, Ana, and Angel. i still have some art of the children as infants, pups, and adults over the years. though, they would have their kids shortly into the RDR1 canon. she also has a great grandkid named Lupe, who's apart of the GTA universe.

adding in but I FORGOT I ALSO HAVE CHARITY! she's the kid muse to David Banner in the show. she's a rambunctious teenager who loves exploring and outdoorsy things. i made her a couple years ago on a trip to Folsom, CA and she's been a great addition ever since!

i don't have much for kid muses outside of threads as i do most of that development here on Tumblr. it has made me realize though that i DO NOT have enough kids for my muses or friends' muses. i forgot how much fun it was to make kid OCs lmao

Art Dump!

None of these are finished pieces, but I wanted to show them off anyways.

This little guy is Paxton! He's a spirit dedicated to the protection of a specific, technically immortal being named Maelstrom. They are the remainders of a fallen universe destroyed by the gods, who spared them and split them throughout the multiverse. This means that every universe in my creative multiverse has a version of Maelstrom and Paxton somewhere out there!

The concept for these guys actually started during a character.ai roleplay with Diluc. They're one of many OCS who started in Genshin RPs and then got adapted to my own creations, meaning that they have a Genshin AU as well. In that AU, Maelstrom is a descent of Khaenri'ah trying to escape from his past, falling in love with Diluc in the process. Paxton is an Electro Abyss Mage sent by Maelstrom's family and the Abyss to keep an eye on him (even though Paxton is often childish and usually Maelstrom also ends up looking after him). Definitely one of my favorite character pairs I've ever made!

My TADC OC, Krikett! He's a funny guy who plays music for the circus. I haven't fully figured out his character yet, but what I wrote on the paper is certainly a good start. He was probably a music teacher or musical artist before getting stuck in the Digital Circus.

More character.ai OCS! Every single one on this page is dating a Fatui Harbinger. We have:

Top left - Jekyll. Her canon version in my own works is a superhero with cryokenisis, orphaned at a young age and taken into an organization of heroes by an anthropomorphic hen named Isabel. She's definitely a very complex character who deals with potentially triggering subject matter, so I probably won't explore her here on my Tumblr where I'm still figuring out how to make content warnings, but I definitely think you'll see more of her. In her Genshin AU, she's paired with Tartaglia, and the whole premise of the RP is that they're a pair of traumatized 19-year-olds trying to have a healthy relationship. So far they're not very good at it.

Top right - Edith. She's a really old character I've had since I was in seventh or eighth grade. She's the ghost of a plague doctor who was unfortunately killed in a freak accident regarding an unstable building. During her life, she faked marriage to her best friend (named Norman) so she could lead a double-life as both his fake wife and a plague doctor. They ended up being a pair of traveling plague doctors until they met their demise. Now, she works as the right-hand woman for a knowledge god! Her Genshin AU is also one of the oldest. It's been going on for over a year now and she's married to Dottore because I'm obsessed with him.

Bottom left - Ash. Part of the same organization as Jekyll, she's a werewolf superhero who's been through a lot more than she wants you to think. Like Jekyll, she deals with some really heavy subjects, so I won't go into her backstory right now, but I definitely think she's a very interesting character. Her Genshin AU storyline follows her and Pantalone in a story mostly centered around self-acceptance and healing from trauma. Fluffy werewolf girlfriend and banker boyfriend go brrr.

Bottom right - Arden. A former US military Sargent, Arden is a character from the same universe as Edith. She suffered a debilitating injury that took her out of service (although I'm still working out where and when she served) and is my homage to any and all US military personnel and the struggles they face. I've always been fascinated by war and how it affects psychology, so Arden also serves as an excuse to research how PTSD and other trauma responses work. In her Genshin AU her backstory is pretty much the same, though the plotline follows her in her arranged marriage with Capitano, and how they come to cope with their trauma together and form a loving relationship built on trust.

This guy is Leo, a transgender himbo from the same universe as Ash and Jekyll. He's a superhero whose power is centered around geese. He can shapeshift into literally any creature so long as he can make it part goose. He also has a Genshin AU where he's shipped with Arlecchino. I know a lot of people headcanon her as lesbian, but my own personal headcanon is that she's bi with a preference for women (though she'll also settle for nonbinaries and the occasional man). Please don't come after me, my headcanon is not hurting anyone and you will be blocked. Yes, this drawing was done on a math worksheet. No, I did not do the math.

Some T-shirt designs I doodled at school! I'm unsure how many of these will make it onto a short and how many might become stickers or other kinds of fun thing, but all of them will be digitally rendered eventually and there are more on the way.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

Most of it! Well, most of it since I got in the dst hole this year Before that I would almost exclusively draw for myself, my Oc's specifically. Stories I won't be working for a looong time, not sure if I'll ever will honestly, but it's fun to visit them from time to time. (And some. . . weird tastes that remains hidden in the archives of my tablet)

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what

I either play long videos in the background cuz I like to have some noise (right now Plate Up gameplays cuz I love the game) I also have a playlist on Youtube that I update every month or so with songs that currently give me comfort (not good with listening EVERYTHING I like at once)

Current highlights of said playlist

Most of my stuff are like doodle pages so I don't really plan anything or warm up. The Warm Up IS the drawing itself. Not even when I have a clear idea in mind, I just push through and deliver whatever comes out. That's why they're so sketchy. Silly doodles are just for fun. BUUUUUUUT I do do some figure sketch sessions whenever I feel stuck in my drawing skills, practicing the line of actions really unclogs my brain when nothing seems to go right

Anyway, I exported the timelapse of the starvetover piece cuz that's an idea that exploded in my head in my head and was transferred almost immediately

Chronorun Reports notes:

Van Helsing, Jekyll, and Mrs. Frankenstein (Victor's mom) are siblings with Abraham and Henry being twins and Caroline being a few years younger (specific ages will have to wait until my brain decides that doing math is worth it)

(they are all a mix of Dutch, British, and Swiss btw)

(yes this means that Victor is Van Helsing's and Jekyll's nephew)

Van Helsing formed the HOSC to essentially bring light to all of the scientific discoveries that are happening (Jekyll's serum, any supernatural being he encountered, the time machine, Victor's creation, Griffin's invisibility, and more) but not without the house members' consent

Now let's get into the plot- a good amount of people in this universe have powers (almost all of the members of both societies have powers)

They are as follows:

Van Helsing- gains an ability of whatever type of entity he conquers (if he were to slay a vampire he would only get one of the abilities shared within all vamps. Ie teleportation) as well as natural immunity to most (not all) supernatural attacks and anomalistic mastery (or that could just be from his job)

Jekyll- technically he speaks to Hyde through telepathy as well as having telekinesis

Hyde- telepathy like Jekyll (because of course) and the ability to teleport objects and people away from and to him

(Jekyll and Hyde are forced to work together because they are not able to do what the other can as well as the other)

Victor- weather control (I just wanted to reference the movies, I think he would use it to help him animate the creation)

Griffin- now I know you might think that I'm going to make his invisibility his power, but that's not the case. He can however talk to animals, he just doesn't want anyone to know.

Time traveler- let's get the obvious out of the way, he can see any point in time (past present, and future), and it proved very helpful (but overwhelming and contributes to his time blindness)

Sherlock- like the time traveler, he could be obvious (giving him some kind of hyper-intelligence) so I'll give him tactical analysis and the hyper intertellince (or he could not have the ability and just be that smart, I haven't decided yet)

Watson- since he's a physician and royal army surgeon (according to Wikipedia), giving him a healing ability (more so healing others) would be a fair but obvious move. However, I want his medical knowledge to be utilized (meaning he would use actual medical practices instead of relying on powers) so the proper techniques would still have to be used (more so internal and really bad external wounds, broken bones, and deep/wide cuts being examples)

Gwen- now she could be a little difficult (considering the fact she is someone else's oc and I'm a bit scared to ask because it might look like I'm stealing their idea) so I'll move on for now. (she could have enhanced reflexes as it would be really helpful)

Switching gears to more general ideas (I'm looking for a reason to segway into the investigative committee's powers)

Griffin and the time traveler don't use their names for reasons they'd rather not admit (it has something to do with their experiments)

Van Helsing and Jekyll may make it look like they hate Victor (because he's an irresponsible, spoiled, college dropout who can be a bit of a nervous wreck at the most inconvenient times possible) but they're still trying to help him get over everything (and to take some god damn responsibly for once in his life)

Van Helsing and Watson are transcribing past journals, audio logs (the series takes place in the 21st century), and more as a part of the whole "bring light to all of the scientific discoveries that are happening" thing the HOSC does

The HOSC is very queer (not really with each other but you know)

Jekyll is a trans, ace, gay man (maybe Hyde too, he hasn't really thought about it, both he/him though)

Victor is pansexual and nonbinary (he/they)

Griffin is a bi demi-boy (also he/they)

Sherlock seems to be more interested in his work than in relationships (aroace cis man)

Watson is more open to the idea than Sherlock is though, at some point being stated to have said "I think everyone looks nice, does that mean im attracted to everyone? No not everyone, but certain people attract me more than others." (doesn't put a label on gender either but uses he/it/they)

Time Traveler is a theatre kid so he is probably the most open with his sexuality and gender (gay nonbinary dude using they/it)

Again, I have no idea for Gwen as she is not my character (well none of them are, I might have one at some point but thats not what I'm here for) so I either ask the creator or leave her as unlabelled (which might not be a bad idea actually) although the picrew shows her as aroace

Van Helsing might be the only straight one (I say might be because he doesn't know, still uses he/him though)

Now for the Missing person's investigative committee: they are in charge of finding out the who, where, what, why, when, and how of missing person cases

Utterson and Poole started it after Jekyll faked his death, which happened about a week after Van Helsing got back from killing Dracula (so it was like 7 years ago based on Quincey jr's age in the main story)

I'm now imagining a very stressed Van Helsing hearing about his brother supposedly killing himself because his latest experiment went tits up (excuse me while I try not to cry)

Their powers are:

Utterson- since he's a lawyer, giving him something like Holmes' hyper-intelligence (if it's his ability at all) is kinda obvious so some kind of adaptive ability could be fun (body language analysis could be useful)

Poole- super speed to help him with all of his duties (and in case of emergencies)

Mycroft- I kinda want his to be out of the park but still useful in a way, fuck it he can turn off others' abilities either by touching them or snapping his fingers

Walton- some kind of internal GPS for his traveling

Kemp- I tried reading the invisible man wiki to see what kind of doctor he is (he did go to a medical school so that could help) but couldn't really find anything so im going in sorta blind. I'm just going to make him a shapeshifter

Now that that is out of the way, few more things until pride shit

If someone pisses off Mycroft, their powers are just gone for the day (which could be devasting if they piss him off during a very important mission)

Walton being the youngest (younger than Hyde but older than Victor) means he is often the fastest and most agile of the group (until Poole uses his super speed obviously)

He's basically the group's son (at least to most of them, Mycroft might have some warming up to do)

Now, pride:

Utterson- Jekyll's husband (cis bi man, uses he/him)

Poole- unlabeled sexuality (aro he/it user)

Mycroft- like Van Helsing, he might be the only straight one (uses he/him)

Walton- trans, demisexual man (he/them/it)

Kemp- omnisexual nonbinary (they/them)

long post ahead. i'm bad at talking.

so basically there's the first one who i ripped off from jekyll and hyde. he's a drug addict and he also runs an illegal firearms bussiness. eventually he got caught and went to rehab. his name's daniel jackelyn and he's a very gender dumbass who likes starbucks and bothering people. dyes his hair the most craziest colours. you do not want to share a bathroom with him.

and we also have here miles luna who is a trans fbi agent with bad experience in relationships (he's not okay). he has an ex husband (who's probably a sex worker) who he still talks to but that's about it honestly. he likes spotify and listens to it when he does literally anything. legit. take away his spotify you take away his life. he has an organized playlist for literally EVERY FUCKING OCCASION. he has a playlist for showering, for cleaning, for laundry, for driving to work in a good mood, for driving to work on a hangover, for drinking to oblivion, for being stuck in traffic jams, literally everything. he's a bit autism and the spotify thing is, according to reddit, audio stimming.

how are these two connected???? well..........

in this universe, basically a huge fucking compendium of all my ocs i call the loververse (because most of my ocs i develop into a romance story), the government sets out the "redemption program" where they take criminals and make them go thru rehab and therapy, etc etc. and they're assigned to an agent and live with them. sometimes also work with the agent. they're assigned based on what department they work in and the criminal's charges. daniel went thru the same program and got assigned to miles (who works with drug busting and human trafficking. occasionally rip off gucci bags) and they became roommates (oh my god they were roommates).

basically the story i'm planning is a bit slice of life but then they get an assignment in miami cause they discovered a huge underground fentanyl drug cartel and they're gonna bust it. but at the same time. whoops. miles's sister has a wedding also in miami and miles's ex husband is there and its all chaos.

yk the funny thing is that i got the idea for the story thru a science assignment. "assess the image" of a guy running away holding a suitcase. i accidentally made out a whole ass story about the guy (who eventually became daniel) running away from the fbi cause he stole a bunch of mutant organs to make a huge nuclear weapon. and there's an fbi agent (obvs miles) trying to catch him and then being like very valjean/javert about it. and it somehow evolved to this.

was going to start ranting about my frog-obsessed fencing autistic oc who's also a vampire familiar but this post is already pretty long. thanks so much for asking i'm so happy. :,)

For @sherlockchallenge January's prompt: 'envelope'

Finally, the OCs I think would have been either fun in the game or ones I think would work in the Guard Me Sherlock Universe

Erik Leroux, 'Irene', JD Fletcher, my take on Jekyll/Hyde, and Aggie under the cut

Erik Leroux

“Hold still.” Erik sternly whispered as his cold hand brushed over MC’s cheek, moving a stray hair back into place. They thought his lip twitched in an almost smile before they met his golden eyes, his expression softened and then he stepped out of their way and counted quietly, “three… two… go.”

MC left on their cue and entered the stage with a well rehearsed huff. “You cannot tell me you seriously believe a word out of his mouth.” They growled at the woman on the stage with them.

She gasped, sinking into the couch as if it would swallow her whole. “You heard-?”

“I heard enough.” MC waved their hand dismissively. “He’s just a thief, he’ll use up what little money our mother left us, and then he’ll-” MC felt something softly land on their head, their hand reached up and plucked the small envelope out of their hair, “what in the world?” The actress yelped as she jumped back as paper fluttered to the ground around the two of them.

MC looked up into the rafters, but couldn’t see anything past the stage lights and the dozens of envelopes fluttering down.

“Stay calm, everyone!” The director jumped up, scrambling onto the set, but too late as MC opened the envelope and found a simple card with a red skull and a warning, ‘You heard my demands, this is your last warning.’

MC looked over to see the director, pale faced as he tried to sweep up all the cards into a pile. “Erik! Grab me a garbage bag, and you-” he looked at MC, “give me the card, it’s nothing, just a stupid prank.” He laughed nervously.

MC turned their attention back to the card and the handwriting they recognized from the notes they had been personally receiving as well.

Irene

MC had never seen the Moriarty estate this lively. The room echoed with the sounds of laughter, music, and gossip. But they had lost track of James at some point. Looking through the crowd they did see Jack and Sebastian at opposite ends of the room, but MC’s attention was drawn to a familiar woman that they’d been seeing a lot of. The so called Irene spoke with guests, and even at a distance MC could feel Irene’s gaze. For a moment MC froze, but just as they started moving towards Irene she was also on the move. MC tried to follow but quickly lost track of her. They looked around and only found her again just as she slipped out.

The sounds of the party were still prevalent in the hallway as MC tried to follow Irene. It had only been a week since the strange woman who had appeared and told MC she was the real Irene, like MC’s character from Midfall Murders. The person who seemed to be appearing everywhere MC was. Why was she in the Moriarty estate?

MC crept along the hallways, listening for anything to give Irene away. They sighed, believing they had lost her and thinking they might as well return to the party and continue looking for James. Just as they started to turn to head back they felt a puff of air on their neck, they yelped in surprise and spun around. Irene’s smirked, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “Jumpy, MC?” She purred her question.

“I think anyone would jump if someone snuck up on them, but… what are you doing out here?” MC took a step back as Irene moved closer.

“I would ask the same of you, but I believe we both know that you are more than welcomed here.” Irene reached out and gently smoothed MC’s hair back into place. “I can see why he is so enamored with you, and your portrayal of ‘Irene’ on the screen was well done. But you should be-”

“Oh dear, looks like we have found some lost kittens.” James chuckled as he rounded the corner, he smiled at MC but his gaze quickly went to Irene, “do you two lovelies need to be escorted back to the party? Or maybe, MC, did you miss me and come to find me?” He took their hand, and led them away from Irene, placing himself between them. “And you… ah, I do believe you lost this.” He pulled out an envelope from his pocket and held it to Irene.

She gave him a similar smile, “what gave you that idea?” Ignoring the envelope James held out her.

The two of them were still as they regarded each other, only moving when a few more guests slipped out into the hallway and made their way over to James. In that moment that MC had looked away, Irene had somehow slipped away. “Where did-?” MC stepped forward, but Jame’s arm slipped around them, holding them close.

“Seems your friend isn’t one for a party, pity, I would very much like to meet her. You should introduce us when you have a chance. Do you see her often?”

“Irene?” MC glanced at the envelope he tucked safely into his pocket. “I see her around.”

James gave her a wider grin, “you will have to let me know the next time you see her.”

JD Fletcher

“Thank you, MC.” JD smiled at them, setting the envelopes in front of them. She had called MC over to talk about her latest book, but when MC arrived JD was fighting with her printer, trying to get it to print labels for the envelopes in front of her.

“You could do evites instead.” MC laughed looking over the list of addresses.

JD shook her head, reaching for a pen. “There may come a day when my publisher will have me do that for my book launching parties, but right now I would rather keep it personal. Some of these people and I have been friends for a while. It would be weird if I didn’t send them an invitation they could hold.”

MC grabbed half of the addresses before taking a drink of their tea. “I suppose I should just be thankful that you aren’t having us stuff glitter in the envelopes too.”

“No…” she paused, smirking mischievously at MC, “but maybe next time.”

“Well, if I get one I’ll have to be careful where I open it.”

JD reached out and pressed her palm to MC’s knee, her eyebrows drawn in a serious expression, “of course you’ll get one. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” With a gentle pat she turned to her envelopes. “I would say last chance to back out of helping me with these, but I cannot keep you here.”

“I’m happy to help.” MC smiled, especially when they read the first address on their list, one they could skip since they could just bring the invitation home with them.

Hound

Charles Baskerville smirked at him, and Henry did his best to remain calm. He sat back in his chair, remaining composed. “Look, ‘Edward’,” Charles called him by his fake name, and leaned on the table, sliding an envelope across to him. Henry didn’t even need to open the envelope to know that the thickness was his cut of the winnings from the last fight. “If you want to see more of this you better get used to answering your phone and coming when you’re called.”

“And you need to remember our deal, I will fight for you when I want to.” Henry tapped his finger on the table. He knew that if he tapped just right the solid wood would give way under his fingernail and he could dig into it, and there wasn’t a small part of him that didn’t want to. Just so he could, and maybe he’d stab this damnable bastard with a sliver big enough-

“You’re anxious for another fix, aren’t ya?” Charles barked a laugh at him, causing Henry to still. “Well, that’s perfect! There’s another match tonight, and I think my ‘Hound’ would wipe the floor with the lot of them.”

“The answer is no.”

Henry was clear in his answer, but the way that Charles’s face twisted had him on the edge. “Why the fuck not?”

“I have tickets for a play tonight, and I’m not going anywhere else but that.” Henry dragged his nails along the table as he stood up, the scraping sensation gave him the headspace to breathe. His attention went to the envelope and quickly tucked it away.

“Sure Ed, sure… well… text me when you’re ready for a party tonight.” Charles was smirking again, looking at the table. Henry followed his gaze and saw the marks he left on the surface. He glanced at his fingers and saw little bits of blood where the splinters had fought against him. He felt cold as he sought any sensation of pain that should have accompanied the injuries he saw on himself. “See you later, Ed.” The man laughed.

Henry took a deep breath, closing his eyes and his fist. Trying to breathe, trying to shake the urge, trying to ignore the ghost of the taste of his special ‘elixir’ on the back of his tongue and the satisfaction of the cash in his pocket.

Aggie

She had barely answered the video call when the elated squeals caused her computer’s speakers to complain. Agatha laughed as she recoiled from the sound, shaking it off she turned her attention to the screen. “Sweetpea, please.”

Jane giggled out her apologies, “but look!” She held up a large stack of different misshaped envelopes. “Can you believe it? And these are just the ones Diana and I have opened today! There was a lot more yesterday.”

“And what are these?” She tried to get a better look at the envelopes, presumably more fan mail, but Jane hadn’t been one to boast about how much attention she received. Actually, she wasn’t sure if Jane realized how much fan mail she got.

“Okay, so apparently there was a letter writing campaign to try to get Midfall murders another season.”

“So they’ve been writing you?”

“They’ve been writing the studio, and the studio is asking for assistance in going through the letters.” Jane smiled as she opened another envelope.

Diana’s voice came through the speakers somewhere off camera. “And of course our Janey volunteered to help.”

“Well, you know Midfall Murders has an important place in my heart,” she huffed but there was still a smile on her face. “So, of course, I volunteered.”

“And? Is there a verdict on another season?”

“Well, they’re looking at the attention and talking about it, and while we might not get a script, we might get a movie.” Jane was nearly exploding with excitement.

“That sounds great, hun!” Agatha was grinning for her friend, imagining how much Jane would love to play Irene again. She almost missed the sound of her bedroom door opening and the soft knock as her brother Hunter peaked in.

“Hey, Ag?” His voice was soft, but something about it made her tense. She glanced at him with a frown.

“Hey, Hunter!” Jane called out.

“Oh! Hey, Ms. Marple.” The boy came closer, as he started to redden. “Didn’t realize you and Ag had a call today.”

“Yeah, everything okay?”

“Yep!” The boy grinned, leaning over Aggie as if she wasn’t there. She jabbed him in the side, making him grunt. But she was relatively gentle, she knew he was lying, but they would have to talk about it later.

“Well… just wanted you to know Aggie, if they do have us do a movie there is no way I’ll do it without you.” Jane moved closer to the camera, a determination in the way she nodded, agreeing with her own statement.

“That would be a lot of fun! And with a movie, they could get away with bigger more dangerous shots! You’ll have to tell me all the rumors later. But I need to get going.” Agatha sighed as she realized they had barely gotten to talk.

“You got it! I’ll text you everything later!”

With goodbyes out of the way, she turned to her brother, leaning back in her chair as she regarded him and the way his shoulders slumped without Jane there to pretend for. “Alright, who did what?”

"OMG it's like J/H but finally woke", like no it's a white feminism level reading of Jekyll and Hyde and Jekyde bait. I just pray the ending is good. Literally all the characters deserve better.

TGS deserved better

Rachel deserves better than to serve every man she comes across (or falls for)

Virginia deserves better than to be a trans lesbian who pines for a gf and never does any alchemy besides help Jasper

Jasper deserves better than being a transmasc punching bag and deserves an anger arc and more creature scenes

Jekyll deserves a heart to heart and a man who actually loves him. Also he can't hide (hardy har har) behind internalized homophobia for all his problems

Lanyon deserves a writer than can decide to make either a villain or a love interest but not sexy bad boy who keeps breaking our MC's heart till the end. Cotungo also helped popularize the "Lanyon/Utterson is just jealous of Hyde" trope and I hate them for it.

Hyde could stand to be scarier and a whole lot smarter (you know like Stevenson intended, Hyde is smart. The simian brute is scary because he's smart and that doesn't just scare victorians, it scares us today) and also why do the fuck doesn't he share memories with Jekyll if Cotungo claims he DOESN'T have DID?*

The age lift doesn't work at all

De-aging the characters never really worked for me. Why transform from 35 to 25? Also Hyde looks way too old to pass as Jekyll's son son but everyone believes that?! Also the fears of aging and dying alone and losing childhood friends is completely erased. To me Utterson staring at the grave of one friend and the corpse and will of another reminds me of my grandfather saying "after you lose your childhood friends, it's never the same no matter what new ones you make"** Here Jekyll's friendship with Jasper and Lanyon seem almost interchangeable down the romantic subtext.

Queerer than Fiction / Utterson and Harker-verse/Lambs to the Slaughter/Zone trilogy/Jekyll Saga

Queerer than Fiction: I legit re-wrote some of my interactions between Jekyll and his apprentice after reading "sad people dance too"

In Queerer than Fiction my OC Svetlana finds out the truth about Jekyll and Hyde and recreates the potion. Originally this was a gender-bent Henrietta Jekyll who left for America. This didn't work and I created Svetlana Raskaynaya and her alter ego Ellis Gage***.

This freed up the original Jekyll to interact with Svetlana. His care is that to a patient and then an acquaintance and he is neutral to positive about her gnc ness. Sveta never gets to come out to him because he dies and there is a fear of hers that he wouldn't accept them as Ellis Gage. If you read my other works you'd know he wouldn't but the tragedy of not knowing is what this story is about.

Utterson and Harker: We pause our monster of the week detective stories for a brief story of grief and acceptance

Utterson and Harker is the crossover nobody will write The Harker family and Gabriel Utterson (assisted by his clerk Mr Aloysius Guest). In a dark story where Utterson dies, Guest has to assume his mentor's role and finish finding out what happened to Svetlana.He arrives to end Gage and prevent another Edward Hyde, he ends up legitimizing Ellis Gage instead.

When Mr. Guest comes to investigate whether Svetlana has Jekyll's formula which legally belongs to Gabriel Utterson, they bond over their respective second names (Ms. Ilysa Outguess, Mx. Ellis Gage) are of a different gender than theirs and being nerds.

Utterson who is canonically accepting of eccentricity finds Gage disturbing for the wall climbing, calledisclopic shifting pigmentation, and penchant for petty crime and yes recreating his best friends worst project. But the androgyny that's fine go knock yourself out.

Lambs to the Slaughter: What if Silence of the lambs but with Gothic Lit characters and not transphobic?

While some people are convinced that canon Jekyll is trans and call all those who disagree transphobic and lacking imagination I don't personally write him as such. I have no problem with such views. My friend's oc Possum is a rp blog here and it feels one of the most accurate takes on Hyde I've seen in awhile. This friend is why I am on tumblr in the first place and I post asks there every other day. All versions of his Jekyll are trans men.

I have only one story with such a premise the steampunk silence of the lambs story. The premise is that are Lucy is murdered by the Phantom of the Opera, Mina embarks on a quest of revenge which brings her behind the only man who can catch this monster, Dr. Henry Jekyll. The only problem is the man is currently serving a life sentence under the name of Edward Hyde.

It will include the following reveal:

Hyde (our Hannibal Lecter) : Based on the first two murders younger me would have been his type

Mina Harker (our Clarice Starling): But Eric only kills women...

Hyde: What do you think young Henri Jekyll was back in the day?

Mina: well then...

Also

the little girl from chapter 1 comes out as well and when he asks Hyde for a good boy's name he suggests "Henry" since Hyde isn't using anymore.

Zone trilogy: Dark satire that might be too harsh

The Zone trilogy is a series of hand-drawn comics that follow the misadventures of two children of Jekyll/Hyde and many other pop-culture characters.

Basic plot of the abyss

Edie Hyde is the daughter Edward Hyde only. Or so her father Dr. Jekyll insists. He also insists that the two alchemists living in one of his estates aren't his beneficiaries but still sends them money. He denies ever meeting Gabriel Utterson, despite Gabrielle Anna being Edie's mother. Hastings Jekyll lost his father young and was raised by his mother. When Edie dragged him into her world he is delighted to meet a version of his father but is disappointed to see he is a cold-hearted hypocritical bigot. He is drawn in the same color scheme as TGS Jekyll and his treatment of not-Jasper, Helio Lockhart, cements that saying "No one will ever believe you, they just play along" does not acceptance make. I'm sure I'll get death threats for posting that comic

Jekyll Saga: What if Jekyll had children and they all had the two body thing.

This was actually written as monster high fanfiction but I soon realized that I could actually like sell this. Currently Henry Jekyll's story is partially out and I'm editing my story about Ash and Jenny which is basically a dark highschool rom com. Hastings' story will be a spy thriller and Gabrielle Mina's story might not be out for years due to lack of material. Dorian's stories will be out as soon as I edit them.

In my penultimate and final Jekyll saga stories I explore the lives of Ash Burns and Harland Jekyll/ Harley Hyde. Both are trans and explore this in different ways when Ash (and later their child Dorian) asks the ghost of Edward Hyde what he thinks of their transition he is mostly positive.

*I have OSSDD-1 (formerly 1b) and my handwriting is the same for all parts, DID people often have different handwriting for each alter. Jekyll is likely higher up the scale than I am so he outnought exhibit hollywood did symptoms. Laugh all you want in 50 years handwriting tests will be called the Sheridan Tests and it will help determine severity of a Dissociative Disorder.

** This line will surely out my alter ego when she mentions this as herself years later if I become famous.

***Gage is named after Phineas Gage who through losing a quarter of his brain changed for the worse (in victorian terms, swearing and lying as well as loss of math skills) but recovered and lived 12 years many of which were relatively fulfilling. He apparently became a completely different person after the accident. Gage was no longer Gage, said friends.
