Utterson and Einfield have matching bowties. They're pink and sparkly and they never wear them in public but always when they hang out at Utterson's house or smth

Hyde throughly enjoys wearing dresses so he has a lot of those hidden away somewhere

(Like some bugs bunny type shit where he wears a dress and everyone's like 'where's Hyde and who is this lady')

Jekyll sometimes hides in corners at parties and stares ominously at people

Utterson categorized his Halloween candy as a kid by color, how much he liked it, etc

Lanyon and Jekyll kind of just ate all theirs the second they got it

And Hyde beats kids up on Halloween and takes their candy.

Side note-Jekyll's that bitch who hands out toothbrushes and shit on Halloween. Hyde takes over his body and gives out actually good candy. And then beats the kids up.

Lanyon was once attacked by a dog. He acts like it's some big bad pitbull but it was a shih tzu. It jumped out of the purse and tried to eat his face.

The shih tzu was Hyde's. Its name is Princess Badass and it gets along well with Whiskers.

Jekyll had a mullet when he was a kid for like a year or so.

Hyde keeps trying to grow his hair out and then sees something sharp and just cuts it again (like ME)

This turned into half Halloween ranting but whatever I fucking like Halloween. And don't know how to spell shih tzu.

the difference between book jekyll and musical jekyll is so fascinating to me

because on one hand, jekyll being a Not Good person adds to the horror, the underlying feeling that hes manipulating everyone around him, trying to gain pity and trust from people to save his reputation, springs at the opportunity to carry out his most violent desires with no accountability. and yet in the end hes torn himself apart so horribly, no sense of self, only to forever be reduced to a whispered urban legend in the london streets about that mad scientist and the mysterious murders. and you cant help but feel bad for him.

but on the other hand, theres the musical, with jekyll as a genuinely good person who wants to help the world. he obviously still has some pride and ego (claiming he made it this far on his own despite his relationships with john, lisa, etc.,) but he doesnt feel like manipulative selfish man from the book. he feels like someone who's already been mostly isolated from society, told that his work will never amount to anything. you're rooting for him! but the story is the story, and he ends up having to be killed by his closest friend, on what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life. and he didnt get the luxury of dying a mystery. everyone saw what he was and what he turned into, and that everyone who ever doubted him was right: he turned out to just be a madman, and only utterson will know who he really was.

tl;dr: the book is a better horror. the musical is a better tragedy.

you know what? i'm not a big fan of shipping characters and last time i did that was a few years ago. i just... follow the canon. but! give me a hanriel fanfic, but with an alternative ending.

jekyll somehow survives his suicide attemp but is stuck in hydes body forever and can't do anything about this. let karma put her hands on henry's throat. let her drown him in the bathtub. put him in a situation he cannot escape anymore. he lost his life as henry jekyll but can't start a new life (the one he once planned to have) as edward hyde either. he's no longer a respectable, extremaly likeable scientist with a shitton of money, beautiful house, an impaccable reputation. he lost everything he spent his whole life on! everything that mattered to him so much! everyone hates hyde with a burning passion and now hes even a wanted criminal, a murderer. henry doesnt have any place to go anymore. he cant do anything. he cant run away from consequences of his actions anymore. he is stuck. i want to see henry with a full blown identity crisis, because even tho hes stuck in hydes body, body of someone or rather something he hates, but he doesnt feel neither like edward nor as henry. he's now a secret third thing or nothing, noone. an empty shell of these two.

now time for utterson. how would he feel when he sees hyde for the first time after reading the letters? would he be disgusted? angry? furious? would he feel some pity? how would he react? i want this man to loose his temper for once. his dearest friend lied to him, betreyed even! and now? is he even somewhere inside this awful creature? he'd like to kill hyde with his bare hands but he wouldnt want to hurt jekyll. he doesnt know what to do. he would spend hours trying to put his mind together, unsuccessfully. he still feels like he has something to do, he just doesnt know what.

i want to see them trying to build a new relationship, a very complicated relationship. they only have themselves now.
