Alright, guys, it’s been more than six months but it is time for a Radskier meta essay on why their storyline isn’t as badly written as many people say. (Includes spoilers)

Is it rushed? Yes. It’s a side-story of a side character and actually Jaskier’s first side-story on the show. Is it cliché? Yes. When I first watched the season I was terrified about where their story would be going, knowing what happened in the book and knowing how mainstream media treats queer storylines. (I did not know about Joey’s deep involvement in the writing until later.) But once I knew how it all ended, I was entirely sold. Of course, that’s a question of taste, Radovid just turned out to incorporate so many tropes I am obsessed with, but I am trying to say that compared to the overall writing of the show, their story is not particularly badly written, which blew me away considering it’s a queer storyline in a mainstream medieval fantasy show.

Yes, they gave Jaskier a queer story for the sake of having a queer story. That was another reason I was very anxious about it. But what they (read: Joey, and let’s be honest, Hugh too) made of it is so exciting to me.

Here’s the thing about them ageing up Radovid and making him Vizimir’s brother. I have seen people complaining that they could’ve introduced an OC instead of changing source material like that. But to me, the fact they chose Radovid makes it so much more than a queer storyline for the sake of having a queer storyline. He’s the prince and later the king of Redania. He is entangled in the greater scheme of things. He is /on/ the same chessboard as the main characters. Turning him into Vizimir’s brother rather than son is way less forced than introducing an OC to be Jaskier’s love interest. Because he is more than Jaskier’s love interest. He is the King of Redania, played by Dijkstra and Philippa. Also, he cannot be killed off.

As I already said because it’s obvious, their story is rushed. That’s just the fate of side stories in TV shows (that are not masterfully written, lbr). But to me at least it is amazing how much they managed to convey in these few scenes.

You have Jaskier’s role as a spy for the Redanian Intelligence. That begins his own side story where he has a role of his own, that has nothing to do with Geralt. He meets this guy who actually appreciates his music and openly flirts with him, showing that he is desirable, something new to the character of the comic relief (although he is the romancer but you know, we never saw it on screen, also this time he is being romanced). He is suspicious, because he knows the Intelligence is not to be trusted, and the Prince of Redania is kind of the enemy. But he is also Jaskier, and his interest is caught. Besides this interest, Radovid’s suggestion to bring Ciri to supposed safety is right up Jaskier’s alley, because he is one to rather avoid battles if possible. He ponders on whether it is a possibility.

Later, he uses this vague connection to Radovid to have some agency of his own. He negotiates with him about Rience without discussing it with Geralt. He’s following his own plan, checking out the possibilities. He’s like alright, this guy at least pretends to be into me, let’s see if I can put that to good use to help Geralt. He sweeps Radovid off his feet with his ballad, and then Radovid says things that blow Jaskier away. He speaks of his talents, of determination to get to know more about him, of how Geralt should be grateful for his loyalty and friendship. Jaskier, the comic relief, has never heard this before. He’s Weak and he’s Wanting™️. But he still knows that he is Jaskier, easily fooled by romance, and that there are great things at stake. At the same time, Geralt is also treating him with more respect to make the decisions harder on him. But Radovid stays on his mind, he doesn’t know what to make of it and discusses it with Vespula, and she knows. She sees what’s going on.

Then, Radovid shows up while he is looking after Ciri. He is still suspicious. But Radovid is different from the last time he saw him. He is scared and he is vulnerable, and Jaskier can see that the mask is gone, and that what lies beneath it is not a villain. He is still cautious, until Radovid sings him his own song and he cannot take it any longer. He is giving in, and he struggles still as he does, but he is Jaskier. He’s Weak and he’s Wanting™️.

The next morning, he is not surprised. Of course, stupid Jaskier got himself fooled by some pretty eyes once again. Of course such blatant desire and affection for him could have only been a lie. He never knew romance like this and he does not hesitate to believe it was simply not real.

But then, he finds Radovid surrounded by his dead guards, alone. The people he was supposedly scheming with left him behind, so he was not all that involved, maybe he really was their puppet. He’s scared and he’s full of regret, he’s a helpless prince in the middle of the outbreak of a war, but he’s telling Jaskier to not waste more time on him because he knows he fucked up beyond redemption. But he’s Jaskier. He has endless capacity for forgiveness. And now that their plans had failed and Radovid has no more reason to lure him in, he’s still begging for a second chance. He still wants to be with him. He wants to prove himself to him, even if that means leaving the court behind. Jaskier has other priorities right now and he’s still hurt, but if there is a chance that this affection he never knew before was real, he is taking it.

And Radovid? He’s the spoiled prince brat, underestimated by everyone (just like Jaskier), and he’s riding that wave, because he does not really care about state affairs. He likes Jaskier’s music, and when he sees him he thinks he’s hella fine. He has his fun and at the same time tries to show Philippa he’s capable of more than she thinks, but he was not expecting that Jaskier would blow him away like that. That he would challenge him (the Prince), that he would be honest with him, that he would see through his act and by doing that NOT underestimate him. Radovid is Vibing and he decides to enter Dijkstra’s and Philippa’s game until he realizes he Fucked Up with his arrogance and being a prince is actually worth shit. He knew everything going on in the castle is pretense, but he was not prepared for this level of violence. He is terrified when he meets Jaskier, and Jaskier is good to him. And, again, honest. Unlike anything he had known up to now, the courtly schemes that had only recently culminated to him being scared for his life. He is still a spoiled brat prince and wants to be with Jaskier very badly, so he Fucks Up again. It is that last mistake that makes him understand his faults. But when he sees that Jaskier still does not hate him, he is determined to fix it, and he will do anything. Fuck being a prince, I will leave everything I know behind to show this man that my feelings were true.

Jaskier changes this man’s entire life and Radovid is willing to do everything for him. Yes, the idea to just go off and find him WHEREVER was kind of idiotic, but that’s the beauty of these two. They are both smart and idiotic at the same time, and they let their actions be led mainly by emotions, which sometimes adds up to the idiocy of it all. But Jaskier has more experience, and Radovid learns from him how to be less selfish, he grows as a person through knowing him.

So yes, the love-betrayal-redemption story is hollywood cliché, but it fits the characters and leads to interesting character growth. And honestly, as a queer woman I enjoy seeing some queers having a cliché storyline in a mainstream media piece. Geralt and Yennefer had a similar story. It raises the queer love story to the level of the hetero story. They struggle and they suffer just as much as anyone else, and they have something that connects them, a story that has potential to be continued in an interesting way. They don’t just exist as the obligatory queers, and their storyline isn’t inherently queer either, to a point where it feels like they’re only queer so Jaskier’s love interest can be the gods forsaken King. (At the same time, the story has queer coded themes, like having to pretend to be someone else, but the way it is portrayed, it can be relatable to non-queers as well.) The cliché of it all does not feel more cliché than other storylines on the show (to me). Its not queered cliché, it’s just a story, and I love that.

Also, Joey and Hugh have actual chemistry. And - and no one really argues with that - immense talent that filled these few scenes with so many layers in the first place. We owe it to Hugh that Radovid is not just a romantic interest, but a layered, flawed character (although Hugh attributes it to the writing but he’s too modest).

The last thing I want to say is that I feel we are generally overly critical of queer storylines, which is not a bad thing per se, because we know how many harmful storylines there are, but I struggle to see how this one is harmful in any way. You have to relate them to the straight romances. The straights will just randomly smile at each other and then they will date, but no one complains about it being rushed.

I am obviously not saying everyone has to ship them, I genuinely do not care. I just think it’s unfair to drag their storyline when it is nothing but normal that they didn’t have enough time for an elaborate story, but they (meaning Joey and Hugh) put a lot of work into making it a good one regardless, an effort no one would have put into a straight love story, because they would not have had to.

Rant 3: Radoskier

When they announced that ship, I was surprised, like alot of witcher fans because wtf it's so random. I don't understand why they had to make that ship canon in series. They had to change Randovid's age and it's such a tryhard. If somehow that blog was suggested to some fan of witcher netflix series:

OG Radovid in books was Vizimir's son. During action of books he was something like 12. He is younger than Ciri. And in games he is fanatic who hates magic, sorceresses and non humans.

That ship feels so forced and I feel like even if they wanted to make Jaskier bisexual, they could just make OC character and not tryhard with Radovid.

Also, Radovid is so bland character. He reminds me of shitty sub uke characters from yaoi. He is stupid af, he doesn't think before making actions. I wonder if they created him like that on purpose or no.

Impera Brigade OC Hendrik - In the context of the omega Emhyr WIP, Nest of Leathers

Hendrik, House of *redacted* - The youngest Impera Brigadier.

Hendrik is the second son of a minor house, disowned when his loose lips and open candour result in the greatest scandal amongst the Nilfgaardian nobility since the Usurper's coup.*

*This is all according to Mererid, so one might take that with a pinch of salt. The man is known for his dramatics.

In no certain order, the scandal involves Duchess Aep Dahy's prized show dog, an admiral's favourite hat, a young lady of questionable parentage and a young lord related to House Voorhis who was besotted with the aforementioned young lady.

Hendrik insists it was all a terrible misunderstanding. None of the Impera can get him to tell the full story and it isn't from a lack of trying.

In the small hours of the morning, lying side by side, Emhyr manages to coax the story from Hendrik once and only once. That morning, the entirety of the royal wing is prematurely woken by the ferocious howls of laughter coming from their Emperor.

Emhyr laughs so hard, hunched over on himself, that he manages to pull a muscle in his back and has to spend the rest of that day in bed. Which was perhaps fortuitous, because the Emperor continues to laugh until he is sedated.

Ciri spends months trying to get Hendrik to crack and tell her the story. He remains stubbornly silent to the point that she decides it may well be easier to get the story from Emhyr.

It is not.

When asked, Emhyr laughs hysterically until he pulls a muscle in his back again. Mererid unofficially bans the topic of Hendrik's disownment from the Imperial Palace lest the Emperor end up permanently bedridden.

Hendrik's path to the Impera Brigade

Emhyr acknowledges him once during a military skills competition held in the capital city, praising his archery skills. Emhyr mentions off-hand that the only man he believes could parry/evade Hendrik's attacks would be 'the Witcher', and that he was sure the mutagens would give the man an advantage.

Hendrik develops a disdain for Witchers, and a special disdain for whichever Witcher that had managed to catch the omega Emperor's eye and impress him, no less.

Hendrik applies to join the Impera Brigade. He is immediately rejected for his youth, lack of military accomplishments and lack of experience in close-range combat.

On the day of the rejection letter, Hendrik leaves his place as a senior archer in the calvary behind and applies to join the infantry, happily accepting a lower-paid, junior position that is rarely filled by a member of the nobility - no matter that he was disowned, Hendrik's blue-blooded Nilfgaardian accent never leaves him and a number of his new colleagues salute him upon hearing him speak, assuming he is their superior officer.

He applies to join the Impera Brigade so many times that his handwriting is recognisable on sight to the Impera recruitment officers.

After three years of serving in the infantry, Hendrik's successes in battle against Nazairrian highlander clans win him some hard-earned repute amongst his superiors.

Finally, after Nazair is conquered, Hendrik's request is approved. When he joins at 23, he is the youngest officer in the Impera's ranks and his fellow officers never fail to remind him of that.

That compliment, that acknowledgement from the Emperor and that fateful day of their meeting is enshrined in Hendrik's memory and shapes his future.

For Emhyr, it was a Tuesday...

Hendrik is uncommonly blunt for someone born to the Nilfgaardian nobility. His open honesty is often confused for naivety and many of his superiors have thought him skilled and obedient but not very bright - A perfect soldier.

Emhyr finds his honesty and good-tempered nature rather endearing. A biddable alpha who is happy to take direction from an omega is rare. Emhyr trusts him.

Hendrik's scent - the blue roses of Nazair and the metallic scent of iron

Emhyr's scent - candied ginger and citrus, when he's upset or stressed, which he almost always is, he smells like burnt sugar and charred lemon peel

When Emhyr is happy or aroused, the scent of the spicy candied ginger is much stronger than the smell of citrus.

top 5 under-appreciated witcher characters

(I'm going to start with a little contention.)

1. Ciri (as an adult). We see her as baby matchmaker, the source of drama for other ships, the plot point, but CIRI as an individual and especially as a grown woman is so underrated in fandom. Whether arguing appropriate ships or not for her, baby girl still deserves her own stories - she's a fucking legend by 21! Bi, bloodlust for days, stage 5 hottie, we need MORE Ciri!

2. Dara! (TWN) I LOVE him as a foil to Ciri. He's alone, life sucks, but he calls Ciri out on her privileges and biased belief she's "owed" more in life. (Is Ciri an exception even more so than being a princess? Of course! But it's still a great addition to the show and a value added OC!)

3. Istredd (TWN mostly, but if you squint we can pretend he's not such a shithead in the books outside of being a part of a love triangle and trying to cut down the complete snack he's up against). Yennefer is an astounding woman and she doesn't settle for less, it stands to reason then Istredd must be an exceptional person even aside from his smart, sexy, smarmy nerdiness.

4. Emhyr var Emreis. 🦔 He's placed on the naughty list for wanting to procreate with his daughter to save the world - which, I mean ... Valid. BUT he doesn't follow through with it (he obviously wasn't daydreaming about it beforehand since he hadn't prepared himself for how difficult it would be and caves almost instantly when seeing Ciri for the FIRST time in a decade) he was just trying to do what he thought was the lesser evil was.

5. Visenna. The one who gave Geralt his calling card mommy-issues, but who has an interesting story all her own just in the few lines she's mentioned. A magic user who has a child during Tissaia's crusade against mages procreating, feels the need to leave her child with witchers, hooks up with swash bucklers, and saves her son so he doesn't die before fulfilling his destiny - color me intrigued!!

Dancing of Flames [ Emhyr x Oc, Cahir x Ciri]

Prologue I

━━━━━━━༺ - ༻━━━━━━━

In the first century of the World's globe Elves and Dragons ruled the continent. The two constantly battled one another for control over the continent for 1,000 years until the Dragons ultimately won the war. The Elves came to an agreement with the Dragons sharing the continent, the two fractions often married one another creating dragon elves hybrid offspring.

The two species were at peace for a while until mortals started appearing in the continent.When humans came to the Continent, they ended the Elves superiority rule and tried to capture the Dragons, but failed sparking endless war between the two.

Alaerion Malfyre the first dragon rider rode into battle on his dragon, Falkor the Deathbringer against the humans with his wife Zylthana, the youngest daughter of Queen Riannon of Temeria and Cregennan of Lod.

Together, the two reign fire down on the humans destroying their lands, resources and foes. Instilling fear in the humans no matter how many desperate attempts they made to capture the dragons or kill them, each time they failed.

After countless wars between the two species, the Humans gave up on their conquest and tried to come to an agreement with the Dragons, but never reached a peace accord.

Tired of fighting,The Dragons sought out a new home away from the Continent and the mortals. They travel beyond the blue mountains and settle down on Flamestone, staying for over a 100 years while starting to build new lands and castles.

In 167 AD, Arman Malfyre began construction on a royal castle near in the first place that his ancestor landed, a land near Flamestone Island. The royal Castle was designed to be grand and huge, inspired by the Roman empire. It took 80 years for the Castle to be built and even then it wasn't done.

Over the next century, the Malfyre family continued to expand and build their castle, taking control of empty lands building it to be one of the greatest empires in the Continent. With their dragons and magical lineage, they establish control and dominance over the land expanding their territories.

The Redmount Keep, named by Emperor Gaerion Malfrye, became a symbol of powers and attraction. Mages across the Continent would travel a long journey beyond the blue mountain to see the Great City.

During the reign of Emperor Alexander Malfyre, the Dragonyra empire was completed and fully constructed, except for a home for the Dragons.

The Malfyre preferred to have their dragons roaming free rather than trapped in caves. Emperor Alexander Malfyre, determined to see to the Dragons' needs, built a private island for them where they could live and relax in peace.

Alexander Malfyre hired a group of Mages to bring his idea to life. The Island, known as Draconia was located west of Dragonyra, far away from the main capital.

The Island was designed with a lavish hot springs pool, hunting grounds, open seas and caves and surrounded by a powerful barrier spell keeping the Dragons well guarded and to prevent any unwanted visitors.

Draconia became a safe haven for Dragons to go, a place where they could live in harmony without anyone trying to hunt them down or capture them.

And to this very day, the island remains only accessible to dragon riders.

Hundreds of years later, after the tenth century of House Malfyre's dynasty was coming to an end, the old Emperor Lucian Malfyre was failing tremendously, after losing his eldest son the succession was put to question.

In 1243, Emperor Lucian Malfyre called a great council meeting on Flamestone to discuss the succession.Thousand of Lords traveled to Flamestone, six successions claims were made; yet only two were truly considered

Prince Ravar Malfyre, the King's eldest son and Prince Aeron Malfyre, the King's legitimate bastard. Lucian Malfyre declared his eldest son Ravar would inherit the Draconian throne. Prince Aegon, a legitimized bastard, would not hold the Draconian throne, The Lords instead choose Ravar, my father.

Lucian called the great council to preventing a war sparking out, but despite his decision Prince Aegon did not accept his father's choice and became envious over the years of my father

The Old King was no fool for he knew his youngest son Aegon would tear apart House Malfyre for his own greed and glory.

And he was right, the only thing that could tear the Dragons apart was themselves.

Valerievna was soaring through the clouds on her dragon Scaraflare in the northern skies, followed closely by her other dragons. She flew higher into the clouds, looking up at a flock of blue jays passing by.

The sun beamed down on her, casting a shadow over him and the land below him. Valerievna grabbed onto Scaraflare's scales, directing her to go lower. " Lower, girl."

Scaraflare obeyed immediately, swooping lower; Darkrax, Goldfyre, and Wildnite spread their wings widely, following after their mother and sister. They let out a happy screech.

Valerievna continued to soar through the skies until she saw Cintra below. Swooping down, she flew past the town and made her way to the castle.

She landed gracefully in the castle courtyard, her other dragons landing beside her. Scaraflare let out a screech, spreading her wings loudly, allowing her mistress to climb down.

The other dragons landed beside her and stretched their wings out loudly, resting their heads on the soft grass.

Valerievna placed a hand on Scaraflare's scales, petting her gently, before moving towards her other dragons doing the same thing.

" Princess, where in the North have you been? " A voice said behind her.

She turned around and saw Mousesack standing behind her, gazing at her with a downcast look. " You missed our lesson today."

Taking her hand off Scaraflare's scales, she turned to him." I'm sorry, but Scaraflare needs to spread her wings along with the others, " She said.

" Your grandmother is waiting for you in the throne room along with Cirilla." The Dune said.

" You best not keep her waiting any long." He added.

Valerievna's eyes widened. " Oh, my god, I must've lost track of time." Grandmother is going to kill me.."

" You best hurry," Mousesack advised the girl. " And change your clothes; you smell of dragon."

He turned around and entered the castle; the young Princess followed behind him.

Valerievna quickly returned to her chambers and slid on a red and black dress, brushing her hair out she grabbed a pearl headband that sat on her vanity placing it on top of her head, marching with a dragon necklace around her neck.

She looked at her reflection in the mirror, approving of her appearance, and left her chambers.

Making her way through the empty corridors, her footsteps echoing as she passed through. She reached a back door to the Throne room and walked through it.

Opening the door widely, she stepped through the door and saw her grandmother honoring Northern lords and soldiers, beside her Cirilla and her grandfather stood.

Valerievna approached them quietly, hoping her grandmother didn't see her sneak in. She took her spot next to Cirilla.

" You're late," Calanthe said, not looking at her granddaughter.

" My apologies, grandmother." She mumbled.

" Where have you been?" Cirilla whispered, turning to her cousin.

" I went dragon riding with Scaraflare and the others." The young Dragon answered.

" Lucky." The young Lion Cub said. " You have to take me with you one day."

'' I always offer, and you always decline.''

'' That's because I'm afraid they may not want me to ride them; I don't have dragon blood like you!.'' Cirilla exclaimed.

Valerievna lowered her gaze to the ground, feeling guilty . " I'm sorry, grandmother.... Scaraflare, Darkrax, Goldfyre, and Wildnite were getting restless."

" They haven't been out in weeks, Dragons do need to spread their wings." She added

The Lioness signed." Caring for dragons seemed more challenging, though they were made the perfect protectors for her dragon and Lion cubs. " she thought.

" Agreed, but do remember you can't neglect your duties all the time for them." Calanthe said.

The young Dragon nodded. " I understand, I'm sorry it won't happen again."

Calanthe nodded, returning her gaze to the audience in front of her.

" And, How was the flight?" Eist asked, turning to his granddaughter.

" It was good; I saw a flock of birds passing by," Valerievna responded.

" Which kind?" He asked.

" Blue jays."

" My favorite," Eist said with a smile.

" Scaraflare is growing rather quickly." Cirilla said. " She'll soon reach the size of Vaerdoth, the Bronze Fury, your father's lost dragon."

" Ah, yes, your father's infamous dragon that vanished." Eist humming. " That dragon was quite scary. When I first made contact with it, it nearly burnt my eyebrows off."

" Really?" asked the young Dragon.

He nodded. " You were only two years old when your mother and father came to Cintra for a visit. " Your father had shown up in the sky's of Cintra on his dragon carrying you and your mother on board, it was at the same time Cirila was just begin to walk.

" Your grandmother here was in shock."

Calanthe rolled her eyes playfully, trying not to smile, and resumed addressing the Northern lords in front of her.

" Really."

Eist nodded. " Yes, she was in quite a fight."

" I wasn't not afraid, Eist." The Lioness hissed, turning to her husband and glaring at him.

" I was merely shocked at how big it got." She added.

The young Princess smiled in amusement, trying to imagine her fierce Lioness grandmother being stunned. Her grandmother wasn't the type to back down from a challenge.

Calanthe turned her attention back to the audience, and a Northern lord approached her and bowed. She lifted her sword and gently tapped it on his shoulder, knighting him.

" As your queen, I grant you this commendation, which will symbolize your duty and bond as liegeman in fealty to the crown of Cintra." She spoke up.

" Could use a bit of feel-ty myself right now," Eist commented.

The Lioness rolled her eyes at her husband, not paying any mind to his words.

Valerievna and Cirilla let out a gag. " Gross." They said, in union.

" Do you promise to defend the weak, the orphaned to your utmost." The Queen of Cintra continued."

" Late wee pups don't get to bark."

" I was playing in the square," Cirilla spoke up.

" Knucklebones?"

" Did you crush those little boys?" The young Dragon asked, turning to her cousin.

Cirilla signed. " I would have if the horseman of doom hadn't ridden up like that."

" If you can't win a game of knucklebones.... what will you do when you go into battle?"

The young Lion cub signed. " Face it head-on."

" And I will be right beside you." Valerievna added."

" At least you didn't shit your kecks," Eist commented.

Valerievna and Cirilla exchanged a look with one another before chuckling at their grandfather's words.

" I thought I smelt something funky in here." The young Princess mumbled.

" Ah, yes, that is the smell of the sounds of boring farts coming out of my ass!." Eist exclaimed

The girls started to giggle, much to the annoyance and displeasure of their grandmother.

" As members of the Royal Family, is it too much to ask that you exercise a modicum of respect?" She asked.

" Especially you." She said, directing her words at her husband. " This is your duty as king and grandfather."

The King signed. " Grant me leave, my Queen. I am worn from my trip to the isles." He said.

" And my bedchamber duties before that." He whispered. " Would you like it if I elaborate, my queen?"

" Gross." Cirilla said.

Valerievna shook her head; her eyes widened in disguise. " Please don't; I want to sleep tonight without any nightmares." She said,

The King chuckled. " You two will have to learn about the bedchamber duties one day; you're almost of age to be wed."

" They are only thirteen, Eist." Calanthe hissed. " They don't need to hear such filth like that from your mouth."

" My apologies, my love."

The Queen continued on with the proceedings without any more interruptions.

Valerievna was in Cirilla's chambers doing Cirilla's hair for the feast. Normally, she would just call a servant to do it for her, but Val always did her hair for her for special events.

Tonight was a special occasion for the Northern Lords were join their halls. Their grandmother had expressed to them it was important to put on a good impression.

The young lion cub was lost in her thoughts, she had a strange feeling something bad was about to happen, for the past couple of nights she had nightmares of her home being burnt to the ground, and being chased by some Black Night.

She tried to ignore it, but the way her grandmother has been acting the last few days all discreet made her anxious.

" Val, do you think grandmother is keeping something from us?" Cirilla asked.

Valerievna laid the brush down. " Maybe, she's been acting so weird lately, like for the past few days she won't let me sit in the council anymore."

" Why?"

" I don't know." The young Dragon mumbled. " When I confronted her about it she said I was too young and should be focusing on magic lessons with Mousemack."

" There's definitely something going on." Cirilla said. " I've been having bad dreams the last few days about Cintra burning and of this Black Knight.

" Covered in blood, dark armor and the bluest eyes that are like thunder."

Cirilla nodded. " Yeah, how did you know?"

Valerievna signed." I've been experiencing those same dreams for weeks now, I don't know.

" I have this terrible gut feeling that darkness is coming for Cintra soon." She added.

" It won't happen." The young Lion Cub said. "Grandmother is the one of most skilled fighters in the North, Cintra has a strong army and fleet no one has been able to break through the borders."

The young Dragon shook her head, still not convinced of her cousin's words. " Nothing is unconquerable, Cirilla." She said, " Just take a look at what happened to my father and mother, my Uncle was able to turn half the kingdom away from my father."

" He killed my father and mother in cold blood, usurping his throne from him. People that were loyal to my father sat back and did nothing, then they tried to draw their swords on me and I wouldn't have made it out alive if it wasn't for Scaraflare."

Tears started to well in her eyes as she began to recall the events of that tragic night. Finding her father in a pool of his own blood on the throne, then seeing her mother being murdered right in front of her eyes by her Uncle's men

After that tragic day, she would never forget what happened; she would always remember that day and one day she would be reborn as a dragon and destroy those who wronged her.

She would burn them all....

Cirilla turned to her cousin, sadness filling in her eyes. " I know, I'm sorry what happened to them was tragic; your Uncle will pay for what he has done."

" But grandmother won't let anything happen to us; she'll protect us." She added. " We shouldn't let ourselves worry about it."

Valerievna nodded tearfully. " You're right, we have nothing to fear."

- Grayson is not a Witcher but was trained like a Witcher is. She was trained by a witcher from the school of the Bear which is why she wears a bear medallion. She is powerful like Ciri, maybe more, except Grayson doesn't possess elven blood, she is just powerful. She is a better Witcheress than Ciri some say (might be true). Grayson hates titles and just prefers to be called by her name. The title she's most famous for is "The Ashen Bear".

- She is described by those she meets as "The most prepossessing woman to exist". She has long beautiful ashen-gray hair and beautiful gold eyes. She has a beautiful figure as well (her measurements are Bust 94 cm (37) Waist 58 cm (23) Hips 93 cm (36)Bra Size 37 H Cup. She is also 5'10 ft in height.

She's strong physically and emotionally, she tends to not show her emotions especially when putting input on a situation such as life or death. She is a generally composed person and tends to be cool-headed. She tends to not give a flying fuck and will just ignore you. However, she is and very protective of and her friends and fiercely loyal to companions and is willing to go to great lengths for those who matter to her. She can be kind-hearted and caring to the people she cares for. She also is very blunt, straightforward, and deadpan. She's clever, quick-witted, sassy and sarcastic. She's known for her sharp tongue and being very hard to read as well. She is also hard to get, precisely why Cesare wants her.

-She has a child of surprise that she has been raising since he was 4 years old, he is now 10 years old. His name is Akrosa and he was the son of a Duke and Princess, but they died and Grayson found him and took him under her wing. She's essentially his guardian (more like adopted mother but she doesn't like that, she just thinks of it as watching over and protecting him, guiding him).

Backstory below cuz it got loooong

Long story short a witcher-formerly a Wolf-was fed up with the way their master was running things(nah they just wanted their own pack, super power hungry)and stole a bunch of the mutagen in order to start their own school of witchers, training focused mainly on traps and the like. Called themselves the School of the Spider. It was small to begin with. And then it was completely decimated when a trap failed.

She never liked her master, detested him even. "He always told me he was going to marry me off to this wretched nobleman we helped who said he was surprised my skin was unmarked considering my line of work. He laughed about it. Got sick of it. Gave myself this scar. No more laughing. Blissful silence." Because it was never actually a joke to her, her family would have done similar had he not come along and "taken her off their hands to make way for their new son"

He knew Vesemir, they had been close, up until he had that hairbrained idea to make off with some mutagen to create his own school. Vesemir told him he had no business doing such. They made a bet.

He left a letter and a parcel in his office only to be read whenever he died. And as the only living member of their school-well whomst tf was going to stop her from going through his shit anyways?? That's how she discovered the location of Kaer Morhen, a n d realized she had to fulfill the dead man's final wish of returning to the keep.

Flash forward to her entering the great hall in the middle of dinner, during a snow storm, with the man's covered corpse. And you know of c o u r s e the entirety of the keep is going to be !!! About this stranger who none of them have seen before. Weapons are drawn. She doesn't bat an eye, just drops the corpse on the nearest table, says "This is for Vesemir." And then just fuckin, goes off to sit by the fire like nothing just happened

Vesemir would have to explain the situation after recognizing the corpse, but there would be a lot of questioning too. "I told him he couldn't trap a damn leshen. He didn't listen. He and my brothers and sisters paid the price. Stubborn ass. There were eight of us, and now there's just me. Ever see a spider with one leg?"

Made to stay at the keep due to the storm, decided to stay the winter after speaking with Vesemir. Absolutely boobytrapped the keep after some verbal jabs here and there. Just to keep them on their toes-and to prove she was useful. O k a y and so she could poke fun at Lambert, now she "baaaah"'s at him, because that's the sound he made when he triggered one of them

I think it'd be neat if Geralt asked her to help with Ciri, being a female witcher and all. She knows how to keep her head on straight, has experience. Also I want her to call Ciri "little sister" cuz that's cute. Also hehehehe "Is Lambert being an ass? I have a solution, watch.... baaaaaah!!"

Rough housing with the wolves used to be tough, but she's got it down now. There used to be so many blood jokes, until she started punching them in the nose. "Here, join me then." And no she can't get pregnant, if she does it results in a loss.

Ciri and Triss would have to show her how to properly take care of her hair and such cuz she just chops it off if it gets tangled

🍓- there is a lot of speculation as to how lhysa became a member of emhyrs inner circle. she actually first talked to the emperor by doing what most assassins would deem as a FATAL mistake: talking to, and confronting her target… and flat out telling him why she was there! never seeing anything like that and with such confidence the emperor offers her a contract one that would mutually benefit the other and their seperate goals. Which of course was that lhysa was to take out the kings in the north and dismantle the northern nations so nilfgaard could take them over. WHAT HE DIDNT REALIZE was that she’d put “puppet” rulers who yes, had loyalties to the empire BUT were actually those she could use to preside over from the shadows. if the elves couldn’t take on a full on war with men, she would control their nations from the shadows ✨😌! and in the end of her contract of course she would take him out as well and set his son maxen on the throne for her to manipulate nilfgaard hehe! LOVE LOVE a manipulative queen! 🖤

🍓- the witcher geralt and lhysa have a strange sort of acquaintanceship that i sort of love a lot? for the LONGEST time since they first crossed paths around in the mid 1260s across the continent, geralt usually encountered the end of lhysas (likely) poisoned daggers first. at this point (circa 1273 ish Witcher 3 timeline) its almost a customary greeting amongst the two enemies? acquaintances? friends? if being friends with a assassin that STILL the emperor has a contract with her for on your life that is currently paused for the time being so geralt can search for ciri? like it’s got me wheeezing WHEEZING. geralt: is walking in vizima and spots lhysa, “hey how are… wait, where did she—.” *SMOKE FROM BEHIND HIM AND LHYSAS DAGGER ON HIS THROAT* lhysa: hey bestie how’s the family? ✨😌 DYINGGGGG aksmkswja

🍓- her first REAL impression of alaric wasn’t much of a positive first impression in fact it was bad! (peak enemies to lovers as we know hehe!) in prior to the end of fallout 3 and the beginning of the bos’s last attack on the final major enclave base in DC he had sent mind controlled deathclaws, erected laser force fields to stop her and the gang in their tracks, soldiers with experimental hellfire and tesla armors, and a loooong list of things! so who’s the LAST person that she wanted to see? him! of course on Alaric’s end yelena was also NOT thrilled to see the snot nosed brat that foiled his research endeavors into project purity 🙄. so imagine how THRILLED the two were when alaric was forced to tag along with her to show the BOS into the Air Force bace not very! of course as he gets to know her in his travels with her, seeing her care for the wasteland and it’s people, wanting a better place to be without the harshness of the organization he grew up in, that MAYBE there’s hope for the wasteland yet? It’s endearing ✨🥺!

🍓- her story with roman my other bb is meant to be a narrative foil of the others story! i was super interested in the idea of taking the intro where it walks the player through the lone wanderers childhood and had the thought of taking that story but maybe putting it into a reversal! Yelena has the loving parent, living in the vault, seemingly safe and happy childhood! whereas roman grew up in the enclave on raven rock, being a product of an experimental scientific experiment that spanned generations making her the first successful case of the FEV working as it was intended. Both had VERY lonely childhoods, so at first the two were unwilling allies who never saw eye to eye! she saw roman as an apathetic and a cold person who didn’t understand or had any sympathy for what she was going through! when in reality its the opposite! shes is the closest thing Yelena has had to a sister and the love I have for the found family of Yelena, kellan, and roman is IMMENSE 🥺
