It is not entirely necessary. She could definitely manage with just some paper scraps or to try to remember the page. Nevertheless... Chevalier always picks a bookmark for her. Metal or paper, he does not limit himself in terms of material -- it even became something of a tale between the booksellers.

As for Esther? Whenever she's done reading a book from him, she adds the bookmark to her collection. It's one of her most treasured possessions.

The first thing you did was split my mouth.

GOD how it hurt. Like a trip to the universes worst dentist.

It took me weeks to get used to it.

Even still I couldn’t speak properly for months. Not that there was anyone to speak to of course. I remember when I first saw my face, I felt as if my jaw had fallen off holding on by its hinges. You thought it amusing how I tried to close my mouth forcefully using my hands. Even funnier still when you offered me a scrap to eat and I couldn't figure out how to eat it. Eventually I figured it out. ___ OOC :going to be doodling Zee with little rambles of their thoughts as if they were 'talking to AM' or recording a diary knowing am was watching them. Miscellaneous Trivia —

Elex Grew up in the circus with his family., his dad and 3 siblings. Their mother died when he was born, making his relationship with his dad and siblings incredibly estranged. He is the youngest. His family circus rivaled the circus to his mate, Sven. Having grown up constantly fighting with each other due to avoiding romantic feelings.

Elex is gay, but is very much in the closet about it, and doesn’t like to admit it openly fearing people will think he’s not as tough or manly. Especially tries to hide it from his father, who is incredibly homophobic. Has a cocaine addiction he tries to hide but gets pretty erratic without it.

Their family circus didn’t do the best so they grew up mostly poor, and whatever profits were made went to his dad’s drinking habit. He and his siblings often would con or thieve local citizens or even pick pocket circus attendees, to be able to have extra money to feed themselves. This makes him very frugal with money, he doesn’t like to waste it cause he grew up having to chase it his whole life.

Elex Has Vitiligo, the only one in their family who is afflicted with it. A skin condition that leaves flecks and patches of white across his gorgeous brown skin. His dad convinced it was some sort of curse, it quickly became just another reason for Elex to hate himself over.

Sneeze Content —

ALLERGIES

Seasonal allergies and he’s allergic to pine and anything pine scented. Most laundry detergents as well.

How severe are they?

Oof his seasonal allergies really has hands so he’s usually suffering big time. But the detergent one really only hits when it’s really close so if he’s intimate with someone who is wearing the detergent he’s sensitive too, he can react to it, same as him wearing it himself. Not as severe as his seasonal.

Do they get sick often?

Not really he has a really good immune system but he does get sick every now and then.

How bad is it usually?

He’s a big friggen baby, thinks he’s going to die, wants to set up a will and testament every, single, time.

Do they stifle?

Sometimes, it depends the situation but most of the time, he just likes to let them fly. He gets off on it a bit.

How loud are their sneezes?

Medium, nothing too obnoxious but also not unnoticeable.

What do they sneeze into?

When they remember it’s customary to cover a sneeze, hands. Most the time? Open air

How often do they sneeze?

A lot during the spring months. He almost tries to stay inside the entire season to avoid it

How many times do they sneeze in a fit?

Seasonal allergy fits? Fff like 4 or even 5 if it’s a bad day. Other? 2 maybe 3

Do they have build-ups or are they sudden?

Seasonal is a build up, it slowly starts to rise before the pressure becomes too much. While the others tend to be an instant reaction.

Do they sneeze in public?

Yes if he’s with his mate, he has the Fet and it makes him feel naughty.

Backstory —

Elex was born to Maggie and Reggie Parker. The owners of Parker’s Circus! Passed down through generations on his father’s side. Unfortunately, his mother, Maggie, died in child birth, which caused Reggie to resent Elex, and not the other 3 siblings before him. Often Elex felt lonely, the times he spent with his siblings were mostly them fighting, they tended to pick on him the most. If dad felt like he killed mom, then he must be right, right? Elex started to act out pretty quickly, smoking cigarettes at age 8, drinking by 10. Doing drugs by 13, after an accident that happened while performing. His siblings had attempted to kill him by slicing his tight ropes. The cut wires had slashed him in the face as he went to save himself. He was immediately taken off tight ropes and stuffed into the petting zoo in his shift. Elex spent a lot of his time with the animals, tending to them and protecting them from mean little kids. Often biting anyone who would tease any of them.

He isnt necessarily an addict, like his father, so he will tell you, but whatever made the loneliness feel less lonely. Whatever made the hurt, not hurt. The only thing that made him feel alive was that bastard, Sven. He was in the rival circus, that his father always seemed to be following. Mimicking. Obsessing. Swearing it was coincidence and not petty. Either way Elex found a reason. He would often find a way to the other circus across town to pick on, bully and poke at Sven, because there was just something about him. Something….that made them kiss one fight at age 12, and changed everything. Elex is a rough around the edges, unhinged and almost foul type of person to be around. He’s a Honey Badger shift which seemed to be a big win for scaring naughtier children and brining in a crowd for their zoo. He wants out, a different life, so he asks Sven to leave the circus with him to start a life somewhere else. Somewhere real.
