Weapon whumpees in their last moments of sanity asking, begging, to be killed so that they can’t do anymore damage, so that they can’t hurt anyone else, so that they can’t be used anymore.
Better yet if there’s something stopping them from doing it themselves and they have to plead with caretaker to kill them.
Does caretaker do it? Does it hurt worse for whumpee to be dead or to see the wreckage they cause, the pain in their eyes? Does caretaker forsaken them too?

Whumpee being paraded for everybody to see.
Bloody, beaten, weak, and limping whumpee dragged around by a collar or leash. They are so weak they can't even attempt to escape.
Pretty, beautiful, pampered whumpee. Dainty, starved, drugged and kept on whumper's lap with the shiniest, heaviest jewelry and thinest, most revealing clothes.
Killing machine whumpee, weapon strapped to their hip but eyes full of tears and flinching at whumper's scowls and frowns. Whumper's hand through their hair, throwing them on the floor in front of their team and whumpee turning limp under their touch, accepting each blow.

living weapon whumpees who, during the first few months of recovery with caretaker, are foreign to the concept of comfort‼️‼️‼️
have them flinching away from caretaker's soft touch because they believe they don't deserve it‼️‼️‼️
have a caretaker gently massage living weapon whumpee's shoulders, soothing words further adding to whumpee's overall confusion before they eventually lean into caretaker's warm touch‼️‼️‼️
have caretaker's soft words and hands holding whumpee's face snap them out of their conditioning after something / someone accidentally triggered them, startled at first before recognizing that, caretaker wasn't a threat, they were safe with them and that whumper wasn't here anymore ‼️‼️‼️

Content: Recovery, PTSD/trauma.
"What on earth are you doing on the kitchen bench?" Caretaker asked curiously as they stuck their head into the kitchen to see what was making noise. There, Whumpee sat on the island with their legs crossed, grinning from ear to ear despite their clear nervousness.
"You told me I was allowed to break Whumper's rules. They never let me sit on counters, so that's what I'm doing."
Caretaker's confused frown curved up into a smile, pride no doubt evident. They took a few steps into the room and leaned against the nearest wall behind them. "Yeah? How's it feel up there?"
"Great!" they chirped. "I always used to sit like this, before. It's only a small aspect of the freedom I'm trying to reclaim, but one I'm excited to have back nonetheless."

But just…I feel very strongly about a Whumpee being tortured for information they just don’t have. Whumper is certain they know, they are totally convinced Whumpee is lying through their teeth.
Whumpee wants to scream if they hear that goddamn question one more time—but they have no choice, Whumper will keep asking until Whumpee cracks.
But they’ve cracked a long time ago, they just don’t know.
Whumper tells them over and over—“If you’re honest, we can stop. You can lay down, I’ll even get you a drink. Doesn’t that sound nice?”
But Whumpee just wails and begs them to stop, even as Whumper asks again. They just don’t know.

Thinking about how some people kiss certain objects for luck before using them (dice before rolling, less commonly but more relevantly guns before shooting, etc.) and like. What if someone kissed their living weapon before each mission for luck?

Hm, you know what I don't see often in whump? The Freeze Response. I'm a perpetrator of this as well, where I usually write Fight or Flight, but Freeze is absolutely a thing that happens in times of fear.
Have a usually defiant whumpee not be able to fight back. Their body isn't listening to their commands. They're frozen, unable to move or do anything about what's happening to them.
And that scares the shit out of them.

Ok but. Using barbed wire as restraints. Keeps whumpee bound and causes pain at the same time.

Whumpee's who call Whumpers by their actual name!!!
Tumblr media
I live for it!!! How much more personal is it to call your tormentor by their name, to recognise that this monster is actually human too? 😍 There's no disconnect between whumpee and whumper, pet and master etc. There's that extra level to their relationship, a closeness whether they want it or not.
Or maybe it's in a moment of cheeky defiance, daring to call whumper by their name. Or a moment of pleading and desperation, trying to tap into Whumper's sympathy. Or an intimate whumper, a whumper forcing whumpee to be in a relationship with them - of course, they'd call each other by name!
I just think it has so many connotations to it hehe.

I love the trope of the badass character who can face impossible odds time and time again and still walk away. The ones who can take on an entire room of guards or a league of assassins by themselves through their fighting skills, marksmanship, or intellect.
However, nothing bores me more than when this character does this and walks away without a scratch. It just shows there are no real stakes and the character is never in any real danger so what's the point?
Instead, give me a hero outnumbered 30 to 1 and who still wins, but they are shot up, bloody, bruised, and broken. Let them barely make it back to their safe house before collapsing in pain and exhaustion. Let them have to be patched up or out of commission for a while so they can heal. THEN I will believe there are actual stakes to future conflicts and there is a chance that character might not make it out the next time. Doing this will leave me on the edge of my seat the next time they find themselves in a similar situation instead of just sighing as they once again avoid hundreds of bullets without a scratch.
Without showing that they are human who aren't perfect and can actually be hurt, you lose so much empathy and emotional attachment to the character.
So, let them bleed. Let them be in pain. Let them struggle. Then let them get back up and continue on despite all of that.
That's the badass I want to see.

A single piece of dialogue has popped into my mind, but I am sick and sleepy and don't want to forget it before I have the mental power and energy to make something of it.
"You speak of forcing him to drink a paralytic. That is not the same as sedation."
"Yes."
"He will feel everything... he will feel the pain-"
"He will. And I will watch."
