Rooibos: What kind of lighting does your OC prefer? Dim, bright, moody, secret fourth thing? For the oc ask thingy! For your One Piece!

Thank you so much for the asks! I will do just Miruna and Beatrice for now since Linnea and Camillia are still a work in progress ;3 Miruna:🌊 (Mihawk's ship) Miruna would love and probably prefer bright light. I think she has been in the darkness and dim light for far too long and she loves seeing all the detail in the bright light. Though I think when it comes to some nights she might like moody lighting, like the light from a roaring fireplace, a gentle light.

Beatrice: 🐻 (Smoker's ship) I feel Beatrice is more of a dim and or moody lighting in her home. She wants to feel cozy and warm. Though I do believe when she sleeps it has to be total darkness in her bedroom. (despite she can sleep in bright sunlight but that's mostly because the warmth makes her sleepy)

29. Do they have a collection of anything?

Ava collects the flora of Halcyon while out on her journeys. She was always fond of plants and flowers back on Earth.

I've been asked 34 and 37, so I am going to fill those in with different questions instead, hope that's ok :)

28. How do they break bad news to someone?

Ava is always a fan of the cold, hard truth. She is also very direct with people, sometimes to the point of being callous. While she tries to be as sympathetic as possible in the line of duty, it doesn't always transfer over well to her real life.

She's usually quite blunt and will tell someone how it is. It generally doesnt go over the very best. If she knows its really going to hurt someone, she'd probably try to use humor to cover it instead.

How good is their sight?

Ava has very good eyesight, even at night. She's never needed glasses or contacts.

What is one thing that your character dislikes about themselves? ("Nothing" is also a valid answer.)

What does your character see as the greatest injustice?

What does your character fear?

On a scale from 1-10, how intelligent is your character? (1 being incredibly stupid with almost no knowledge of the world, and 10 literally being Light Yagami. If you don't get it, that's on you lol; but it's basically having over 200 IQ.)

Does your character specialize or have remarkable talent in anything? If so, what is it?

In a group setting, what role would your character have? Leader, co-leader, follower, or outsider?

What event in your story altered your character the most?

In the end, what is your character grateful for?

❤️ What would your OC’s ideal lover be like? Appearance, personality, voice? Would their family approve or would it be civil war?

In every way, Max fits Ava's ideal. That's why theirs is the first long term relationship she's held on to.

Ava has always been interested in older men. She likes men who are tall, and if they are graying even better. She wants a man who is strong and knows how to take care of himself.

She needs someone who is intellectual and is interested in having conversations late into the night. To her intelligence is very sexy. Her ideal partner has to be able to handle her sarcasm. All the better if they can dish it right back to her. She loves confidence in her partner. She's not afraid of drawing every eye in the room to her, whoever she's with needs to be able to handle that attention as well. She also needs someone with the willingness to show her patience and care when it comes to breaking down her walls.

Ava loves a deep voice, she wants to be able to hear the rumble in their chest when they speak.

Her brothers would probably have a lot to say about her taste in men, she is well known for having a certain preference and they are more than willing to tease her about it. They also know she is a grown woman who made more than enough mistakes in her love life back on Earth, they leave her to make her own choices. All that matters to them is that she is happy and that whoever she is with treats her right.

Ava loves flowers and plants of all kind. Back on Earth she used to have an apartment with a balcony where she would garden. Saving Halcyon doesn't exactly leave room for that as a hobby, so on the Unreliable she keeps a vase where she keeps all the plant life she has collected while on her travels through the colony. Once the colony is back on track in her post-canon story, and Ava has retired from her position as Chairman, she gets to come home to a garden she can care for.

Day lilies were some of her favourites back on Earth, she also loves pansies, Gerber daisies, cherry blossoms, and sunflowers.

For a flower crown Ava would probably use Salvia, cornflower, pansies, and baby's breath.

I've actually written two fics about Ava and Max's first meeting, one from her POV and one from his. Here is an excerpt from my fic "Traversing the Vale":

Ava entered the office of the vicar, he was sitting at his desk, head buried in paperwork.

"Vicar?" her voice echoed in the room.

He didn’t even bother to lift up his head as she spoke. Friendly place, Ava thought.

"Yes, what is it?" He grumbled.

When he finally did look up it was like he was a changed man, his steely gaze turning into a charming smile. He seemed genuinely pleased to see her. She knew the act all too well. She’d gone through the same motions herself on more than one occasion at a bar. She didn’t really want the company, but if it meant she got a free drink than she’d be happy to lead a fellow on. "You can just call me Alex." Ava smiled, putting out her hand to shake. She hoped that was still the custom out here in Halcyon.

The Vicar happily accepted her hand, holding it tightly in his own. His hands were warm and rough, she liked the feeling of his hands. He must have been a man who wasn't afraid of some hard work.

"I so rarely get new people to talk to. I admit, I've been quite interested to make our outsider's acquaintance. Name your poison, anything at all. Spiritual counseling? This seasons tossball predictions? The quickest way out of town?" Max lowered his voice with his last comment, a smug grin on his face.

Ava had to admit, she did find the man charming on the surface, if not a little arrogant. But she was also a little arrogant herself. She listened to his opinion about the deserters, and his thoughts on what she should do next. She even took heed of his warning of the dangers outside. Finally, he got to the point. No more circling what he really wanted from her. He wanted a book of all things, one he considered heretical.

It had been a very long time since Ava had seen a real paper book, since her days at the academy she had only been using a datapad. She wasn’t even sure paper books still existed. It was almost comforting to know that there were still people even this far into the future who still appreciated the tactile feeling of a real book in their hands. That alone gave her enough of a reason to find the book, it also didn’t hurt that this vicar was exactly her type.
