time for the obligatory post about what episodes I want to see in the upcoming leverage season(s)

(for reference, I made this similar post in 2020 after the reboot was announced. I'm pasting some from that post bc I still want them to happen lol)

new ideas:

I mentioned a date night episode in the last post (apollo really did bless me with foresight for the date night job on that one) but for considerment: ot3 date night. possibly their first date night after they all get together. breanna and sophie know it's happening (harry is, like, peripherally aware) and some crime hijinks are going down and the three of them are frantically trying to stop bad things from happening that are going to interfere with the date. I want to see them going through it behind the metaphorical curtain. I want to see breanna fighting for her life trying to out-hack the hacker that is going to ruin their ten-part itineraried date. harry has to get in a fistfight and eliot is so proud about it when he finds out after everything is over

tree law episode. harry has been frothing at the mouth about it since it was made. his life has been moving him towards this penultimate moment. breanna thinks it's HILARIOUS and cheers him on 100% of the way. she is VERY enthusiastic about this con

I'm not going to mention certain things because I've seen jrogers posting on bluesky social and I know he might be already writing some of those plots

con that the food trucks have plot-relevance. like, one of his food truck stations is being harassed /victimized by, like, a local gang or something that takes advantage of food truck/cart workers and the team steps in. the actual (veteran) food truck workers get involved in the con. leverage international might just have gained a few retainer members

quinn should come back for an episode. I know the actor is friends with ckane. they should make it happen because it would be iconic and I said so

on a similar note, ckane is friends with jensen ackles and. guys. wouldn't it- wouldn't it be extremely funny if a flame from eliot's past named sean sylvester who is a rugged drifter with a questionable past

episode where tara or maggie (or BOTH, can you imagine how powerful that would be???) come back and there is slight flirting with sophie possibly??? that or very obvious chemistry from a past tryst. sophie has slept with both of them, I know it in my heart of hearts. bonus points if tara and maggie fall in love (I think it would be funny. maggie's taste in men is canonically atrocious, I think she deserves someone like tara at this point)

I just want a lot of side characters to come back, okay? sue me I miss them

gonna put the rest under the cut since this post has become obscenely long

not episode-specific, but I want more mentions of the korean leverage team. and all the other teams too! we know that in canon there is the south korean one, the nigerian one, and one in london (I think that's it for mentions so far, but correct me if I'm wrong!)

episodes addressing issues with american imperialism and its effects on minorities and marginalized communities, specifically within this country (there aren't a lot of episodes where they are actively out of country)

dear fucking god take a more abolitionist stance on policing I'm begging. would it KILL you to not be weird about cops? pls just punch some more cops. take down white supremacist cops, I'm sure you can scrounge something up bffrrn

women's rights episodes. I know it's kind of recent, but episodes about accessibility of stuff like birth control, abortion access, etc. y'all are capable of making excellent episodes on that I know it

more climate crisis-related episodes. god knows you're feeling it in the deep south

taking down a corrupt megachurch pastor (although lbr, there is no ethical megachurch anything and you can fight me on this)

something to do with ace rights bc I think it would be really cool to see the team advocate for that stuff, especially since breanna is canon ace

helping a polycule that is being victimized by X organization/entity (maybe a housing association or medical or something???). breanna is bombastic side-eyeing the ot3 the entire time. it is making hardison sweat. sophie thinks it's hilarious

taking down 'writers' that use ai and self-publish AND/OR people that take original/fan works off of like ao3 and wattpad and publish them for personal profits without the author's consent. breanna would have a field day with this (god herself could try to convince me that girl does not read/write fanfic and I wouldn't believe it)

episode about underfunded public schools. we saw corrupt private schools in the fairy godparents job but I want an episode that would make abbot elementary writers proud

episode addressing native/indigenous. eliot is from oklahoma, I'm sure he is well aware of the health/job/economic/etc disparities on reservations. I will email jrogers about it myself if I have to- it anyone can get people going about native rights through a tv show it would be leverage.

I sent an ask to wil wheaton once asking if he was open to returning to leverage and I think he said he would be down for it. but chaos either has to be a reluctant ally to leverage international and is being handled by quinn as a hitter OR he is just. in jail. bc he sucks.

bpas and/or pfas episode. breanna has mentioned microplastics before but I want more

the team tears the shit out of conversion therapy camp owners and plants the seeds for legislation that will punish parents that try to send their kids to those hellscapes

while we're at it, I'd love to see an ep where they tackle the trans bathroom issue. god knows the news doesn't talk about it nearly enough

something to do with foster care. they end up starting some sort of foster care network that past clients/allies can take part in. maybe a mentorship program for kids that want to do what they do one day (they are very reluctant to encourage kids to participate in crime BUT if that is the avenue that they are going to inevitably go towards, they guide them in the right direction). nana makes an appearance (*insert 'everybody liked that' meme*)

prison industrial complex episode. I KNOW we had the jailhouse job BUT we really need this in our year of 2024

another episode on corrupt influencers. maybe influencer parents? dear god pls take them down a notch

ep where there is an underlying message that tells you how to avoid becoming victim to scams or something, or like is a tutorial for how to identify scams you might fall victim to (sorry, I just have to say this after two separate people tried to pig butcher me in less than two (2) weeks))

not to say I want them to do an ep calling out cop city, but it would feel really good to watch the leverage team rip that concept to SHREDS

the minimum wage job. need I say more? we deserve the catharsis

pls go after goodwill execs, esp the ones in the pnw that have their sector as for-profit and have become millionaires+ because of it while paying their staff (especially disabled staff) fucking pennies

while we're on the topic, pls call out salvation army (the corporation)

I think that breanna should be able to go off about mass/over consumption as a treat. I 100% believe she has Thoughts about it. like, she will absolutely call out the corporations that are responsible for these trends, but also she should be allowed to mention our tendency for overconsumption as a society. obviously there are a few corporations that are doing most of the world's pollution/ecological damage, but we should be doing our part too and I KNOW it would be in-character for her to go off on it

I bet she has a LOT to say about influencers, tbh. obviously not all influencers are bad, but there are sooooo many problematic ones and problems within the influencer industry

sizing discrimination in the modeling/clothing industry. let eliot talk about how there are no perfect bodies. also while I'm on the subject, can we PLS have more body-diverse background actors on the show? I know this is nitpicky but I'd really love to see some more people that look like me, even if they are just in the background

a thinly veiled writers' rights episode (I'm looking at you media execs and the stupid amount of time it took for you to comply to the WGA demands)

something to do with media companies making entire movies/tv shows and then fucking cancelling them/not releasing them and using them as tax write-offs. every time it happens it baffles me. that is cartoonishly stupid villain shit. I can't imagine lovingly working on a project for a year plus and then the company just going, nah, we aren't going to release it because you suck and it's a good business move

ideas from the previous post that I still want:

comicon job. I said it before and I will say it again- we deserve it!!! come on, it's the age of the geek after all!!! (in the last post I also said a ren faire ep, but I will let the card game job count for that)

summer camp ep? I saw a tumblr fic about it and I think it could be cute. it could kinda be like the fairy godparents job- eliot in charge of some type of sports (archery, fencing, etc), hardison would be in charge of arts and crafts (this boy might be a genius with tech and in general tbh, but the show did such a good job of showing that he’s also very talented with the arts- sculpting the statue for the miracle job, forging the old diary in the king george job, etc), parker would LOVE to be in charge of a high ropes course. breanna would totally be down for some sort of nerdy kid robotics or simple, traditional camp games (can't go wrong with the classics. everyone loves making bracelets!) I feel like it's too stereotypical to have sophie have kids put on a play but we all know that's exactly what she would do. idk for harry? I think he has the same traditional camp activities vibe as breanna. he's in it for the nostalgia. OR something to do with videogames

please, please, please, please, please make an episode where they take down a cult, im begging. that would be such a good episode. definitely a mindfuck episode like the experimental job (4x11). I’ve seen a few posts about a job dealing with a cult (here’s one) and I think it would be really interesting

MORE STERLING being DONE with leverage shenanigans!!! give me feral!sterling like in the frame-up job (5x10)!!! give me sterling that protests every step of the way but conveniently looks away and “whoops, the team just disappeared, I have no idea how that happened!!! diddly dang darn it, they got away again!!! sorry guys!!!” bonus points if mcsweeten is there too and also participates in intervening hijinks

the team takes down a circus that is still using and abusing wild animals!!! because first I’d LOVE to see acrobat!parker swinging up in the air like a pro and being in her element, but also because those places are the fucking worst and need to Go Down. give me eliot having to pose as an animal trainer with deep sympathy for the animals being abused, quietly talking soothing words to them when he thinks no one is around (correction: hardison is, in fact, around, and filming his boyfriend’s softness to save for later). give me charismatic hardison playing the role of ringmaster, running and flaunting about and being passive-aggressive to the circus master. give me eliot freeing the animals from their chains when they are finally able to shut the place down and relocate the animals to sanctuaries (his hands shaking just a little as twists the key in the lock, because he too was once an abused, caged animal in his own right and he knows how liberating it is to finally be free).

This Week in BL - Multiple Thrupples are Forming

June 2023 Wk 2

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Step By Step (Tues WeTV & Gaga) ep 8 of 10 - Emotional blackmail from the ex notwithstanding, I guess it’s Pat’s turn to break hearts. I have to say Up was really well cast in this part - extremely believable. Well done all around. Jeng is so smitten, so awkward, so cautious, yet so sharp when it comes to a seme confrontations. I LOVE how sensitive Jeng is to the fact that he has a one-sided crush but also deluded by how much he wants the fantasy of the relationship. The agonizing roller coaster we watch him go through in this ep did a lot of work to elevate and expand his character. (Oh hi Green!) Poor Pat: thinks he’s teasing his straight boss, is actually slow dancing with future husband. Happens to the best of us.

La Pluie (Sat iQIYI) ep 8 of 10 - Don’t kiss someone else. Just argh. Dumb plot divice. I expected better of you LP. Everyone is so overdramatic and overreacting. I wonder if (in addition to all of the other tropes this narrative is scrutinizing) it’s examining bisexual identity through Pat + his ex? Like, this episode is actually about trusting the bisexual to choose his gay lover when he has the so called “option of being normal.” That soulmate is an allegory for gayness & identity & choice (and whether we even have a choice in who we love and are attracted to) and the interplay all of this has with one's own perception of self and other's perception of you… Or am I giving it too much credit? Meanwhile... l flipping adore the love triangle twist, and really wonder if they’re gonna have the guts to take this aspect to its inevitable triangular conclusion. Such a good show.

Be My Favorite (Fri YouTube) ep 4 of 10? - Screw all y’all, I’m eloping with Pair & Max. We forming a thrupple and pretending Jittirain doesn’t exist. Trash watch here.

Luminous Solution (Sat Gaga) ep 4 of 6 - I love the high school boys so much it’s scary: flirting, biting, frankness, roughhousing + lap sitting! Also messy high school gay triangle. Gah. All of this for little-old me?! I was mad every time we jumped forward in time (to the adults) or whatever the hell is going on. Thank goodness this is only 6 eps.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Love Tractor (Korea Weds iQIYI) eps 3-4 of 8 - I LOVE IT SO MUCH. IT IS EVERYTHING. SHUT UP I AM FERRIL FOR THE BEAUTIFUL CITY BOY & HIS YOUNG FARMER. Come on. Korea. Have mercy? Plus some language play? Slayed. Right... the episode; This show reminds me so much of a Korean style Restart After Come Back Home. I’m not even slightly mad about it. It’s the BL I didn’t even know to ask for. Soap opera tumble and baby in hospital is SUCH a princess moment and I am living for it. Although the reversal is even cuter, princess turns out to be a caring tsundere Dom. And then obligatory water-hose frolicking! Oh, stop, you. (Allegory much? i being to think hose spraying is just another way of BL saying... well... hose spraying) AND “there is only one bed but they slept together on the floor together anyway”. These boys are hitting all my favorite tropes. BL please never lose your sense of childish wonder. And... the hose spraying is nice too.

Tokyo in April AKA Shigatsu no Tokyo wa (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 8 - Based on a NSFW yaoi, this is a reunion romance that takes place in an office. Look, this is a weird little 2nd chance at love that reminds me a bit of Our Dating Sim. But it’s more traditional yaoi office romance with evil boss and inter-departmental politics. The leads are cute childhood (almost) sweethearts and I adore it unreasonably already.

Vian the series (Vietnam YouTube ) ep 6 of 12 - Vertical video prod is stupid. I’m sorry young people. Stop it. BUT the cuddling is cute. Christ BV can kiss. Is there anyone he doesn’t have amazing chemistry with? Oh the sunshade trope I haven’t seen that one in forever. Also clearly his character has a type, and that type = ultra-bitch.

Stupid Genius (Vietnam Fri YouTube) ep 2 of 6 - It’s fine.

Naked Dinner AKA Zenra Meshi (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 9 of 12 - Oh dear. Baby is hurt and rejected. Faen fatal knows her competition is a boy, she also knows what jealousy looks like. But this baby has his own boy. This is all feeling rather Thai BL. There’s even an ep 11 of DOOM coming up next.

It’s Airing But ...

House of Stars (Thai Mon iQIYI) 12 eps - I bounced at ep 3. Will binge if told it is worth it at end.

Stay (Pinoy YouTube) 7 eps - It’s mostly in English and set in LA so I’m not bothering but the first one did drop.

Ever After (Pinoy ????) - I got nothing.

Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari no Hajimari no Asa (Japan Sun ????) 10 eps - NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS and no, I have no idea where to get it, why would I? (Say it with me everyone: Oh Japan, must you?*)

Boys Love Omegaverse (Japan ????) - honestly tho? Who tf cares? You’ll still tell me if you find it, because inquiring minds... Irony of this airing at the same time as Takumi-kun. Full circle much, Japan?

Ended This Week

Tin Tem Jai special showed up on Gaga as ep 11 & 12 under the original show. (Indebted to spies reporting in.) Also on YouTube. What was that I just watched? Did I watch something? Was there anything? I suppose the bathtub scene was cute. Subs are bonkers. Seriously. Do. Not. Bother.

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan) - pay attention TTJ THIS is how you do a special. But I’m gonna do a series review, here ya go: I was always gonna love the show if they stuck to the manga (which is very dear to my heart). And they did, paralleling it almost exactly. It’s a quiet & cozy little parable of found family alleviating loneliness. Possibly too slow for some but definitely high up there for me with the best of what Japan can do (like Restart After Come Back Home), it’s only flaw (if I dare say such a thing) is that it is not really “romantic.” Lovely & sweet but the romance beats are being used to build a family relationship, not just couple intimacy, it’s OK with me, but not totally BL. 9/10

6/25 Dinosaur Love (Thai iQIYI) Trailer 5 eps - from Ultimate Troop about a uni student, Rak, whose partner cheats on him with Rak's best friend. This gives bad boy hazer Dino an opportunity to hit on Rak at last. From The Yearbook people so I will not watch this as it airs. After Remember Me? Never again with them.

Everything from the characterisation to the humour, plotting, action, and romance are going far harder than they needed to. Also Vash and Meryl in this fic are just . . . so unnecessarily close. decided to do a Manner of Death rewatch.

I forgot how absolutely nuts the 1st episode is.

Hi I'm a coroner moving back to the small town where I went to high school. It's such a great place. whoops, SA victim. Local cop takes me out to get fucking hammered at The Town Nightclub. I stumble into a ludicrously good looking stranger and kiss him passionately. Then collapse in his arms.

He's my old school bestie Jane's date at some obligatory function the next day and hits on me with the subtlety of swinging a mallet, bleeding predatory/sketchy vibes. I...might be kinda, reluctantly into it. I mean,

but there's the part where hot nightclub guy suddenly (like out of NOWHERE) starts beating the crap out of another old friend and it's all incredibly mysterious. At this point everyone feels sketchy af, like we've walked into Twin Peaks.

and then Jane's dead and hot nightclub guy is the one found the body. even worse, local police say he's her boyfriend.

Phee and Jin as parallels throughout DFF

Previously I wrote a meta about Phee and Jin as parallels in just episode 7, but since then it's become increasingly clear that the entire narrative of DFF has Phee and Jin in parallel positions.

Caring for Non

The parallel starts early in the show, and early in the interactions between Phee, Jin, and Non. As soon as they meet Non, both Phee and Jin show an immediate interest in him, and immediately like him, too.

Both Phee and Jin proceed to catch feelings for Non (obviously Phee dates Non, and Jin does not, but they both have a crush/feelings).

I know some fans disagree about Jin caring for Non, but the narrative shows it clearly through his actions. Jin cared for Non and liked him, even if he acted badly later.

Trying to help/pushing help

Next, Phee and Jin both show a desire to help him, and suggest ways they can, even if he doesn't accept their help or doesn't listen to their suggestions. Jin offers to help Non make money to repay Por for the camera. Phee goes even further than that by implicating himself in money laundering in order to get his dad to drop the case against Non.

Then, Phee pushes Non to stop hanging out with the friend group, or even move schools to get away. He wants Non to make a choice to step away from it all, pushing what he wants onto Non so that Non will be safe.

Jin, on the other hand, balances out by pulling Non back when Non thinks about stepping away. Jin reminds Non that he was the one who wrote the script, that he would be giving up a lot if he just walked away.

And Non listens to Jin, because it aligns with what he already wants. He straight up tells Phee that he wants to finish the movie. And when he has his psychotic break, he yells at them about stealing his work. It's clear that neither Jin nor Phee can get Non to do (or not do) something unless Non himself wants to.

Both saved Non's life

Both of them interrupted Non during a s*icide attempt, saving his life. Neither of them know that's what's about to happen, they're just there to see/check on Non after a bad thing happens, and show up just in time...

Both reacted to Non in anger

When Jin sees Non "cheating" on his boyfriend, he reacts with anger and records the video of Non and Keng (obligatory note: Non was coerced, but I also want to point out that everyone in the narrative and the narrative itself treat it as if Non was cheating). And when Phee sees that video, he tracks down Non to tell him to "get lost and die."

Both of them say/do things that are damaging to Non. Phee knows that Non almost killed himself shortly before and yet still basically tells him to go finish the job. And meanwhile, Jin records him in a vulnerable state and posts it on the internet.

Neither of them showed their best selves in that moment, reacting to exactly the same knowledge. Both of them did something they very much regret in the present, something they can't let go of, a mistake they can't get closure for.

Both show clear upset when Non disappears

Though of course Jin lies to the police about Non's disappearance, it's clear that it impacts him negatively. He's snarky and nasty to his friends at the movie premier, bringing up Non repeatedly and refusing to smile.

Phee is visibly upset, angry, sad, and of course proceeds to turn his life upside down to start looking for Non.

Feelings

As time passes and removes them from Non, both Jin and Phee catch feelings - for each other. Both of them have had time to heal a bit from the grief and loss, and gravitate toward each other in the process.

But they can't move on

But because of everything that happened with Non - everything they had a part in - the two of them can't move on, can't get closure. Can't really give in to their feelings. Phee shoves Jin away and drops them both into stasis - unable to move on from each other, and unable to move on from Non.

Mutual guilt and blame

Even in the present, both of them still carry the weight. Phee admits that he acts out of guilt, because he feels like he made things worse when he told Non to go die. And Jin admits he recorded the video and made things so much worse...

And Phee even says it in this scene. That they're both the ones who hurt him. Both of them carry the weight. Both of them admitted their failure and admitted their guilt, and saw each other for who they really are. Their parallel bad actions, and parallel guilt.

Throughout the show, their arcs have been parallel the entire time. They've circled each other, circled Non, and circled each others' arcs from the start. And I'm sure that we'll see, through the end, how those mirrored decisions impact them.

MEET THE SP OC

TW: Mild blood and mentions of sensitive topics

Welcome to my first entry on this list! Inspired by @skenisasleb 's intro posts for their South Park characters, I realized that I wanted to do the same since I thought it would be fun! I will be following a similar format to theirs within this post and future ones to come. This is part one after all :D

So everyone put your hands together for my first ever South Park oc, Ashton Roscoe! (Below is his outfits during certain "episodes" or "b-plots", whatever you wanna call them. I'll be happy to explain them if there are questions, but I'll only go over a few in this post!)

The Basic Life

Ashton Roscoe is an only child, living an average life in an average two-story home with average parents. They're maybe a little distant, but nothing too concerning.

He is one of the newer kids to South Park. Like, freshly new. He is left in a constant state of confusion with just how bonkers South Park can be and has yet to get accustomed into his new life. Otherwise, he has a pretty mellowed out mood with a hint of stubbornness.

He owns a massive cardboard fort deep in the woods of South Park. Who knows what goes on in there, and why he lays so many traps around the area? (It's role-play. It's literally just a place to keep his Stick of Truth items) And he likes to dig! But unlike Christophe, he digs for treasure. Bits and bobs. Doodads. Thingamajigs.

Relationships

There's nothing too special in Ash's bonds with his friends and family, and especially so being demisexual. He has three buddies, Lucio Connors, Robert 'Bubba' Hendrix, and Killian Manfred. Your typical, all guys friend group.

Out of everyone, he's most likely closest to Lucio due to them meeting when Ash moved in to the town. He helped Ash get around and learn everything there is to know with a kind attitude to boot, while Lucio greatly enjoys meeting someone who isn't a wackjob.

Bubba and Killian were already friends with Lucio before, so it helped Ash ease in quicker with the people around him. Bubba is the prankster who Ash tolerates. He always stands on guard around the guy, waiting for when he might strike with his next trick. It gets a bit mentally draining with it all, especially with the constant chatter about girls and dating or the next big prank.

Ash and Killian are a mixed bag. They get into arguments a few times, with who being in the right constantly switched around. But otherwise, they're tight knit, and they often defend one another during troubles. Ash appreciates Killian when they're on good terms and likes to listen to his conversations, but it wears thin when Killian gets zooted out of his mind and gets into his usual existential crises.

In terms of South Park? He tries his utmost to avoid the gang (i.e. Stan's and Tolkien's friends) and is pretty successful sometimes.

Lore Galore

Since Ash was my New Kid while playing the South Park games, it's only obligatory to go with those first. His personas are Ashpatch the Thief and Ezkaton!

These characters are something Ash put way too much effort in due to his affinity of escaping the world around him. He loves to play pretend.

Ashpatch is a thief class. He chose this because not only is he a natural at sneaking, he's an avid tinkerer. Most of his weapons, albeit rudimentary, are all handmade. He might put the things he nabbed to good use. At first, he just went by Ash, refusing to go by Douchebag but being too lazy to correct others around him. But later on, with his growing infuriation of Kupa Keep, Ash took the opportunity to switch sides the moment he saw it, donning the new name Ashpatch once he gained trust with the Elves.

He takes role-playing pretty seriously. As mentioned, he makes most of his weapons on his own out of objects he finds. If he wants something, he'll work his ass off to obtain it. Daggers, smoke screens, traps, you name it. Even though the other kids absolutely hate this, he doesn't care. He enjoys how it makes the games more authentic. And Ash even dressed the part, making an outfit to blend in the snow.

Ezkaton is his superhero persona, named after the word eschaton, meaning the final act of a divine plan. With a netherborn assassin class, Ash thought it was fitting to uphold an almost deity-like theme, and also because he's an edgy little boy... And also because he wanted to repurpose his abandoned Ghost cosplay, but he will never admit this.

His shawl is a Christmas tree skirt, and just like with Ashpatch, he crafts most of his inventory himself (aside the glowing scythes duh). He also works alone. The other kids don't really understand and think it's to keep up this 'bad boy' persona, but the real answer is that Ash doesn't want to end up getting others hurt. Especially with how they fight actual crime. He'll help out, he ain't a dick, but he works better without worrying that the villains' and his actions will result in an accident.

The other heroes make jabs for how over the top he is, or how he's a Mysterion clone, and to that he says, fuck you, because he'd also rather not admit he spent days coming up with an original identity only to be stumped. Plus, why be a superhero who isn't skilled at what he does? Ash is great at sneaking and traps. Why stop now?

"The Game Never Ends" (Assassin Ash)

If there's one thing to know about Ash, he's a tad bit gullible. There are times where he's skeptical, but those moments are few and far between. After the gang plays a match of paintball with a bunch of other kids, Bubba offhandedly mentions that paintball 'is never really over.' There's a few laughs, but over time, Ash gets insanely paranoid. And so, he goes around town finishing the job, taking out anyone to achieve his victory. Don't worry, there's only two counts of manslaughter.

"The Crystalites" (Album Debut Ash)

Ash loves music. It practically runs through his veins. If you want to find him, chances are he's in his backyard drumming it out in his dad's shed. He's debuting his first album for the town of South Park with his one man band, The Crystalites. However, it seems there are many obstacles he has to overcome, with that being money, gaining a crowd, organizing the event, and scrap bandits. People who are dismantling objects for an extra buck. So it's up to Ash to make his debut successful, and protected from grubby hands.

"Hardcore Parkour" (Parkour Ash)

Parkour is the next big thing in South Park. Everyone's doing it (well, every kid is), but it seems for some reason, Ash can't get the hang of it! He used to be a master at running around and climbing the strangest things during games, so why can't he get this right? Determined, he tries to figure out the cause of his 'curse' and actually stick a landing while his friends go on to the big leagues of competitive parkour.

"Alive and Buried" (Grave Crawler Ash)

Remember when I said his parents were not too concerning? Well it gets concerning. Every South Park kid has their traumas.

How does his family have the money to afford everything? Money laundering. And his dad is heavily in the business. However, a recent investigation showed that he was a suspect and CPS is threatening to take Ash away. With his mother being heavily distraught, the dad is blinded by the very thought of this and vows to keep Ash safe. He tries different things, but push comes to shove, and the poor boy is buried alive the last minute before cops arrive. Thankfully he managed to dig himself out, but his dad is arrested as he resurfaces. Now he has heavy claustrophobia and taphophobia. Ash would've liked to have kept all of this to himself, but news spreads around quickly in South Park.

"Supernatural Squatters" (Ghost Hunter Ash)

Ash and Lucio believes ghosts exists, much to Killian's and Bubba's mockery of it. Wanting to prove them wrong, they make a bet for the four to stay overnight at an abandoned building rumored to be haunted. Geared to the teeth, the kids venture in and finds exactly what they were looking for. Drugged out squatters. Now they must exorcise them to free their souls.

Obligatory ShB spoiler warning.

The general status quo hasn't changed since Vivi's arrival to the First: he still doesn't feel any land under his feet, Exarch still doesn't inspire trust, although there's no reason to distrust him either. Vivi isn't in a rush to meet the Scions because usually their perspectives don't help him at all. Hence he fucks around in the Crystarium instead of doing the msq.

You can hear the sound of Exarch failing the dating sim once again.

Talking about a mystel. Bumping into a mystel. They could get run over by a stampede of cats at this point and Vivi would still think this guy's probably a hume. He genuinely has No Idea. Had he had an idea, he would be actually more tactful. Maybe.

Me: no graphic violence Also me: murder onscreen

I hope the reference to episode 11 is clear, but here's a refresher: that's what ARRRaha is mostly remembered as. For multiple reasons. Mostly for magically killing himself and giving Vivi some mild stress and an even milder blow to his ego.

Exarch's fate was to choke on his coffee there and then, he kept his composure by a miracle no less. Vivi doesn't know the meaning of what he just blurted out, he simply rolls the letters in his mouth, still struggling to remember "G'raha".

HE MANAGED! The embodiment of intelligence.

Vivi reflects on the events of previous episodes and the dangers of the fae folk, and decides to do a massive handwave at that. He's walking a fine line, but he legit doesn't care.

Exarch has a hate-hate relationship with sleep, however, when he feels like unwinding or resetting his mind, he turns to memories of moments when he felt safe enough to drift away.

He must've felt the most warm and human when the young Lyna stayed with him all the time.

I sat on this self-contained story for a year. Officially the most wholesome episode ever. There's a bit of One Piece influence, if you remember Nami's backstory. Gen-san wore a pinwheel on his cap to appear less scary to the little Nami, and cheer her up.

Someone read this as "crap glue", which brings me infinitely more joy than my original "craft glue" x'D

There's a super subtle smile. He knows. He probably sensed Lyna approaching him, but remained still to see where this goes.

Back to the present, where they refer to each other by titles.

He's g'oogling.

G'oogle results: 1 fae, 1 slacking idiot.

Exarch isn't just jealous or yearning, he's also kindaaaaa in the middle of his grand plan, yet his hero isn't keen of jumping into action? And he doesn't know how to confront him about that. Luckily, Urianger also happens to be in Il Mheg.

Vivi smacks a like on Urianger's outfit. Rated S for peak sluttiness.

Nobody talks about Feo Ul's snot bubble so I will x'D

Urianger doesn't wanna leave his comfy place for an adventure, he visually demonstrates that while telling a polite lie, trusting Vivi to interpret that as intended.

They have a special vibe of quiet, maskless understanding, even if they don't interact much. They've got nothing to butt heads over. Vivi's fond of people who don't "fit in" and go against the grain. Being smart and observant as he is, Urianger knows that Vivi's rather hopeless, and doesn't waste his energy on trying to debate, direct, or, gods forbid, fix him.

Just a closeup because he looks cute here :> To keep your expectations grounded, though: this's one of the veeeeeery few Urianger episodes. He has little overall "screentime". This comic isn't trying to be a fanservice for every character, even if I personally like them. Gotta keep things focused.

This one's kinda important: Vivi acknowledges how nice and quiet it feels (in the moment? In Il Mheg? On the First?), but the realization doesn't fully bloom in his mind yet.

"Mmyeah there are definitely better cracks to ponder out there".

Another closeup because *clutches at heart*

Two things: his own, genuine excitement to reunite with fren, followed by self-reminder that she's no fren and that he has to maintain distance (Vivi who are you trying to fool you're bad at this).

Also mirroring. He sees Alisaie's face and drops his own.

You peek inside Alisaie's brain and find a coin loudly rolling around, one side says "omg it's HIM!!!!!", the other "beat this mf up". Why? Because she can. And probably because the word of Vivi's arrival had already reached her. He spent a good week doing nothing in the Crystarium (and even Il Mheg) instead of rushing to meet her.

The new tumblr post editor (that wasn't forced on me until ~2 months ago) won't let me add anymore pics. I was thinking of making meatier but less frequent posts of this type, because they'll massively add up over time. Imagine a new reader looking at 300 episodes and 100 recaps. I'd feel overwhelmed. But I guess I'm left with no choice but to keep these recaps relatively short and frequent.

Alright I think I’ve seen a couple smaller versions of this in bits and pieces so if you have them please share, but I figured that as someone familiar with neither show initially I’m in a good position to do a DPxDC onboarding post!

Since neither source material is particularly helpful in understanding the madness we have created, here is what I consider important to know for each (please add in with anything I miss!)

Danny Phantom (DP)

Main Characters

Danny Fenton - is a Phantom. Died as a teenager by accidentally activating his parents’ portal to the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms but was also revived, becoming a half ghost half human (halfa)

Is the only superhero in Amity Park, fighting ghosts and sometimes ghost hunters to keep humans safe from ghosts and ghosts safe from humans

Has beaten the Ghost King in single combat, and is therefore sometimes considered to be the new Ghost King

Jazz (Jasmine) Fenton - Danny’s older sister, basically his parent, very into psychology and very against the influence their actual parents have had on Danny due to their obsession with ghosts

May/may not know about Phantom, usually considered the Mom Friend of Team Phantom whether she knows or not

Jack Fenton - Danny’s dad, 6’9 koolaid man, loves ham and fudge and breaking through walls instead of the door beside him. A very bad shot but extremely enthusiastic in that 90s dad cartoon way

Prone to believe absolutely anybody but Danny is a ghost, especially when Danny does ghost things in proximity

Extremely intent on the destruction of all ghosts, convinced they do not have actual feelings and should be destroyed pre Phantom reveal. Afterwards, can be either accepting or homicidal towards Danny

Maddie Fenton - Danny’s mom, ridiculous kung fu warrior and engineer, madly in love with Jack and they are sickeningly cute all times except Christmas

Sometimes notices they have kids that need caring for, sometimes curbs Jack’s wilder impulses, she’s the brains of the team

Same ghost views as Jack, but she’s more perceptive and intelligent, which can be used for good or evil

Tucker Foley - Danny’s best friend, likes meat and technology and arguing with Sam

A Black young man with a signature red beret and PDA in the OG show, usually acknowledged to be on par with the bats’ technical skills as he’s an incredible hacker

Danny’s Guy In The Chair, but he will get out of his chair and throw down as needed

Sam Manson - Danny’s Obligatory 90s Cartoon Love Interest, goth and ultra-recyclo-vegetarian child of millionaires who will not be stopped in her crusade for justice

She’s the one who dared Danny to go into the portal that killed him, the guilt she carries for this varies

She is in combat as much as her humanity allows, but also in a support role most of the time

Dash Baxter - Danny’s Obligatory 90s Cartoon Bully, the usual blond beefy jock. Can be surprisingly sensitive and intelligent, probably from being tutored by Jazz

[ETA] Valerie Gray - former antihero with a grudge against ghosts (her dad lost his job because of Cujo), she was given an anti ghost suit by Vlad and worked for him to fight ghosts until learning he is a half ghost

Canon never names her alter ego but we call her Red Huntress, she’s hot headed and impulsive and absolutely dated Danny while trying to murder Phantom - Danny knew the whole time but she did not

She is also Black

Wes Weston - Does Not Exist In Canon. We made him up because Danny had a bracelet that was supposed to say Sam but was shown backwards all episodes so it just says Wes

Knows that Danny is Phantom, INTENT on telling absolutely everyone, and is never believed

Vlad Masters/Plasmius - the only older halfa in the show, and one of Danny’s main villains. A billionaire who went to college with the Fenton parents and was slowly killed after exposure to the first trial portal

Blames Jack for his exposure and is obsessed with stealing Maddie from him and marrying her himself as he believes should have always happened

Her opinion does not factor into this, and she largely treats him with disdain but tempered for her husband, who adores Vlad unequivocally

Dani/Ellie Masters - a girl clone of Danny made by Vlad, the only clone who survived melting into goo. Vlad raised her to try and kill Danny so he could perfect a different boy clone, and kept her isolated

Now that she’s met Danny and been stabilised by him, they are siblings/cousins/besties but she can’t stay in one place, because she wants to experience the whole world

Frostbite - King of the Far Frozen, which is part of the Ghost Zone full of ice. He’s a yeti, and has the zone’s only functional medical facility

Reveres Danny as the Great One, Saviour of the Ghost Zone, and taught him how to use his ice powers

Clockwork - Master of Time, tends to show up in a purple hooded robe with a clock around his neck and rapidly cycle through ages and speak in riddles

Sometimes communicates by leaving green stick notes on things, but never with a direct answer. Considered Danny’s mentor and sends Danny on adventures through time to preserve the time stream

Notably involved in the whole Dan Phantom fiasco

Dan Phantom - an older version of Danny from the future where Danny’s ghost half was removed from his human half, stole Vlad’s ghost half, and destroyed the world because Danny’s whole family and friends were killed in front of him

They were all together to be killed as part of an intervention when Danny was caught cheating on a test. This gives Danny understandable issues about how easily he could go bad and destroy the world

Skulker - an early recurring baddie who is a Kraven the Hunter knockoff, considers himself the Ghost Zone’s best hunter and wants Danny’s pelt for his wall

Actually a tiny little guy inside the helmet of a big mechanised suit, rarely a serious threat

Ember - a young ghost musician who can hypnotise people with her music, craves an audience and another early recurring villain

Dates Skulker I guess

Johnny 13 and Shadow - ghost biker boy and his sentient shadow familiar, dated Danny at some point, but in a permanent ongoing relationship with Kitty

They usually only cause trouble when they fight, break up, wreak havoc, and then eventually get back together

Kitty - once Overshadowed Paulina the generic Pretty Girl to date Danny to get back at Johnny for their break up

She wanted to be a lawyer before she and Johnny were killed in a wreck, sometimes implied to have been caused on purpose by her father

She and Johnny are often Danny’s allies, against other ghosts if necessary

[ETA] Cujo - ghost puppy, very playful and usually about beagle size, but he can grow or shrink at will into a terrifying house sized attack dog. He can make portals so no, you are never safe from Cujo

[ETA] Wulf - werewolf ghost and friend of Danny’s who can also create his own natural portals. He wears pants

Important Terms

Core - a small glowing orb that houses all a ghost’s memories, thoughts, emotions, and vital organs. Can correspond to an element, granting elemental powers after some intense ghost puberty

Requires ectoplasm to form and be maintained but does not exist in canon

Obsession - ghosts are powered by their emotions at death and an Obsession, usually what makes them become a ghost instead of passing on in the first place - does not exist in canon

Danny’s Obsession is usually Protection, Space, or both

Vlad’s Obsession is Maddie, and acquiring Danny as a son once he learns Danny is a halfa too

Dani’s Obsession is Travel

Halfa - half a ghost, half a human, with the ability to transform between human and ghost forms (usually characterised as a colour inversion of hair and clothes)

Powers are basically Everything That Would Be Funny, because it’s a Saturday morning cartoon

Vlad’s specifically include electrocution, duplicating up to thousands of himself, invisibility, intangibility, hand lasers, super strength, healing, and mind control

Danny’s include ice, strength, bendy noodle body, put self in video game, hand lasers, heat vision, ghostly wail (big ol sonic scream, bad for the throat), duplication, teleportation, and literally anything else that was fun for the episode in question

All ghosts seem to get invisibility, intangibility, flight, telekinesis, and ectobeams (lasers from various body parts)

Overshadowing - similar to possession, when a ghost takes over someone else’s body, gaining access to core memories if they look

Sometimes different from possession specifically and considered less invasive, but still invasive. Danny does not like doing this

[ETA] Anti Ecto Acts - a series of laws signed into existence to declare all ectoplasmic entities as nonsentient creatures, able to be experimented on or destroyed at will

Referenced literally once in canon in a single line that basically says “you are under arrest for being a ghost” - after Danny is outed as a halfa, we have obviously extrapolated it into the worst thing possible

Canon calls them Anti-Ecto Control Acts

[ETA] GIW - Guys in White or the Ghost Investigation Ward, they’re literally a colour reversed Men in Black joke to have a government agency that focuses on ghosts

They don’t care about collateral damage and will blow anyone up on their way ghost hunting

DC (Disregard Canon apparently)

Main Characters

Listen I’m not doing all of them so HOEDOWN STYLE I GUESS

Alfred Pennyworth - best Batman character, super butler, makes the best cookies

Bruce Wayne - Batman, may/may not be good batdad

Dick Grayson - Robin 1, responsible for pantsless Robin and excessive flips, grows up to be Nightwing

Jason Todd - fandom woobie, Robin 2, tried to steal the tires off the Batmobile and hit Bruce with a tire iron, killed by Joker, came back evil and thicc as Red Hood and nearly killed Robin 3

Has the Bad Juice in him cuz of being brought back from the dead so he has Pit Rage, which most people apparently only get for a little bit and then either die or go permanently insane

So what do you dislike about lumity from the owl house? It seems to be way better as a romantic subplot than most shows can do. Like there’s no wheel-spinning or dragging it out, they’re in a different place relationship wise in each episode they interact in, until they properly become a couple. No rushing into it and trying to make a dysfunctional garbage couple work, no dragging it out for an obligatory “hero getting the girl” ending.

(Sorry for the late response. This was sitting in my inbox for a bit and I hadn’t seen it)

For starters, I don’t dislike lumity. I’m neutral at best, indifferent at worst.

Though I admit I kinda liked it back in season one. The popular, elitist witch developing a crush on the human girl who mysteriously shows up on the isles was a cute concept.

But by season 2, I was losing interest. Suddenly it feels like Amity’s entire personality was just devoted to being Luz’s girlfriend. Also doesn’t help that almost the entire foundation of their relationship is built on Luz’s hyper fixation with her Azura book. If not for that there would be no relationship.

Then by season 3, I’m over them. Amity has been pretty much reduced to Luz’s love interest. All manner of personality that set her apart in the beginning mostly dissolved. And Lumity was just “queer rep in a kids show”.

And I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that one thing. This is VERY rushed. We get a small amount of build up to Amity’s developing feelings towards Luz, however Luz kinda just jumps into it. We don’t get her inner thoughts, don’t get her questioning her feelings or exploring her attraction. It’s just, “Hey Amity likes me, we should start dating!” And then that’s what happens. I know people hate when writers drag out romances when we already know that they’re gonna end up together. But sometimes it’s okay to give your characters time to grow before making them into a couple.

And it’s not just Lumity, pretty much all the canon romances on this show suffers the same writing problem. Only difference is, Lumity is the main ship so it gets more screen time.

Now obviously there are gonna be people who don’t feel the same way and will disagree with me. That’s fine. I didn’t make this post to tell people that they’re wrong for liking it or that they don’t understand it. I just wanted to get my input.

And honestly, I feel the same way about a majority of romances in a lot of cartoons. So I’m not singling Lumity out.

Final thoughts

I really love that the show is showing us how some gods are trying to do better (Poseidon, Hephaestus, Hades) while some are just clinging to the past and their old ways (Dionysus, Ares) and how Percy and the other half bloods are going to be a force for greater change

For added drama I like to imagine that in the ikran racing au Spider is helping both Neteyam and Lo'ak in secret and neither of them knows it. I think this would probably happen in a more platonic version of the au (unless someone wanted to try their hand at a vee) where Spider becomes the person who helps bring the two brothers closer together after getting both sides of the story and seeing how much both brothers miss one another, which may not be as exciting for some but I think it would put Spider in the most hilarious of scenarios and eventually lead to some much needed brother bonding.

Ooh, yeah no thank you for both of them I don't like the idea of them competing that makes me sad :(

But I think you're giving us a classic Spider Sully au!

-Kiri and Spider have been best friends from jump, and Kiri is constantly working with the ikran with Spider. She doesn't have an interest in racing, and she has no obligation to be there, she just loves the animals.

-Spider has been there longer than anyone else's obligatory year, just hoping that one day he can race, or even just ride an ikran on his own.

-I think everything plays out exactly how I described in the nocorro and the locorro versions, except instead of love they both just end up loving spending time with Spider.

Lo'ak was already friends with him, but he's been caught up in his stress over his iknimaya lately. He's been worried about living up to his dad and his brother, worried about not having the natural connection to the animals that Kiri does. Worried about failing his iknimaya.

-Neteyam has never been as close to Spider as his siblings, but now, he finds himself able to share worries he never has. Stuff about not being as perfect as everything thinks, not feeling the natural connection with his ikran.

-Spider is going to explode, they are both just having similar problems and it would be so much easier if they just talked oh my god. He's venting to Kiri while keeping both of their secrets lol. He's been running around like one of those episodes on Disney channel where the main character accidentally has two dates to the same dance.

-But eventually they both start learning shit about Spider, about how he regularly skips meals to tend to the ikran, how he wakes up earlier than anyone else in Hells Gate to get there and gets back later than anyone else. About how sometimes he falls asleep with them instead of going back, and no one notices as he's always the first gone anyway.

-Neteyam flips at that one, when he finds Spider there asleep one morning when he was hoping to make it there before him. What if his mask malfunctions??

-(What he doesn't know is the ikran are always watching Spider when he sleeps over lol. They fucking love him).

-BUT Spider doesn't know that either, so. 😬

-They end up colluding to get their parents to adopt him, and all of a sudden they have to share why they were both working with him daily.

-Little do they know, like I stated last time, Spider is the only person other than Neytiri herself she trusts with her ikran because she's noticed how good with them he is. She's fucking on board already.

You knew going to Haechan’s party was a bad idea, it always was. But you hadn’t thought it would be “bad” bad.

For the record, whenever Haechan – the most popular (and not to mention hottest) student on campus – threw parties at his place, they contrasted his whole “perfect” image. They were actually just a series of misfortunate events disguised as parties. From extreme, groundless fights breaking out of nowhere to stuff like sudden, random power outages; everything happened at his place on the day he had planned out some event. And even though everyone knew how cursed his parties were, they were still thrilled to hang out with him because after all, it was Haechan– who in their right mind would decline his invites?

Although you witnessed all the damned episodes that took place at his house, you never minded them. Like all the others, you enjoyed crashing at his place whenever he asked you to join him. Even if you weren’t in the mood, it was obligatory for you to go since he was one of your oldest friends and fairly speaking, going to his party was better than hearing him rant and complain for weeks just because you didn’t show up. However, ignoring how everything usually took a miserable turn, you had to admit his parties were actually something no one should be missing out on. For a 22 year old, he was quite the host.

It was actually because of Haechan and his jinxed gatherings that you met the love of your life (or so you thought) –Huang Renjun from Psychology, who was also the same age as Haechan himself. In fact, Haechan was a friend whom you and Renjun shared. Even though you had seen Renjun around the college a fair amount of times, you never took any special notice of his existence.

It wasn’t until one night at Haechan’s place, you had seen Renjun standing awkwardly in a corner all by himself, literally embodying the standing-man emoji. You figured that he wasn’t much of a party person, feeling sympathy when your eyes locked with his lost ones. You hesitantly approached him but once you felt comfortable around him, the both of you ditched the party only to find yourself in a McDonald’s drive thru joking and giggling like mad. From that day onwards, you continued growing closer and closer until the day Renjun decided to end your said “friendship” and change it into something more…meaningful.

Haechan was over the moon when he found out that his best friend was dating his other best friend, leaving the both of you in utter shock when you found out that he had a bet with Na Jaemin from Sociology over how you both would make a perfect couple. And not missing the chance, he simply had to make arrangements for the celebration of the grand event as soon as he got time on his hands.

You had been very content with being labelled as Renjun’s girlfriend, proud even. And he could say the same for you. Your mind had created a whole time capsule with his name engraved on it, treasuring even the smallest memory of the moments you spent with him. From dancing together to whatever music was playing in your apartment to sharing secret kisses on the empty streets during rainy nights, he became the most important chapter in the book of your life. Whenever he looked at you with his twinkling, adoration–filled eyes or whenever he showed you that beautiful smile of his, you would fall for him all over again. He made your universe complete, he made you complete. You just couldn’t imagine your life without him, but apparently life could imagine you without him and that’s exactly what it did.

With the crushing stress of the nearing finals on your shoulders, your irritation took over the best of you. So you decided that, before you hurt someone and had to live with the regret of it for the rest of your life, the safest option was to distance yourself only till the end of the exams which were about two months away. But something in the back of your mind was constantly bothering you – actually, it was worrying you.

Since Renjun had left the city for some upcoming event he had signed himself up for, you hadn’t heard from him for about three months now. You thought you were overthinking the whole situation but for someone who sent good morning / good night texts nearly everyday, you couldn’t help but feel like something awful was about to happen. Nevertheless, biting the unpleasant feeling back, you tried your best not to think about it too much. Ignoring the endless echoing of his name in your head, you continued to distract yourself with your studies. It wasn’t an easy task, but you had to manage.

A few weeks prior to your finals, a usual–midnight–studying session of yours was interrupted when you felt your phone vibrate from somewhere underneath the piled–up notes. Someone was calling. Who could be calling you at midnight? Confused, you searched for your phone. However, when you saw the caller ID, chills ran down your spine along with a feeling of an immediate rush of adrenaline throughout your body – it was Renjun. Nearly throwing off the books resting on your lap, you hurriedly picked the phone up as if a second’s delay would make the communication device disappear from your hands.

“Renjun?”, his name leaves your lips quicker than you could hold yourself back.

What follows is complete deafening silence, your heart hammering against your chest wanting to escape before your tormenting thoughts come to reality. His timing was odd, but his lack of response was even peculiar. This wasn’t something you were used to.

“Hey? Where have you been? It’s been really long...” you continued, trying to start up a conversion all while biting your lip in fear.

“Y/n, we need to talk.”

That was all he said, no ‘hello’, no ‘how are you?’, no ‘I missed you’ – just a cold, hard ‘we need to talk’. His tone was unfamiliar, frigid – a tone which was foreign to you. It didn’t seem like you were talking to Renjun, your boyfriend. No, the person on the other end was just a stranger, someone you had never known.

You chose to ignore the lump forming in your throat, but you couldn’t avoid the haze taking over your brain. According to all those books and dramas you had read and watched, those five words were never a good omen.

“Is–Is everything alright?” you gulped, mentally cursing at yourself for stuttering.

You heard Renjun take a deep breath, preparing himself for the storm he was about to stir up. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to gather the courage to tell you something he had been thinking about for a quiet while now. The thought of doing his next step was easier than actually implementing it.

“Look…” His sigh was silent yet it said so much, “I–I don’t think this is working out.”

With his said words hitting you ears, you felt a throbbing pain in your head as everything went blank. Your throat and mouth went completely dry at his unexpected statement. The ground beneath your feet had been pulled away with your knees failing to keep themselves straight. You felt weak, sick even. Everything was happening so fast, so suddenly that your mind was refusing to accept the cruel reality. It wasn’t even making sense, he wasn’t making sense.

“Wh-what–”, that was all you managed to barely whisper. You hoped what you heard was wrong, hoped that the boy wasn't saying what you thought he was.

“I’m sorry y/n…” he broke the agonising silence again, “I think it’s best for the both of us to stop seeing each other.”

“Bu-But why– Wh-where is all of this co-coming from?” Before you knew it, tears were brimming in your eyes, your body felt tense yet weak at the same time.

“Listen...” he mumbled, trying to end the call as soon as he could, as if he had been forced to break the news to you, “Just. Don’t try to contact me again. Goodbye, y/n.”

The following beeping noise which came from the inside of your phone tortured you as your senses went numb. Your brain wasn’t processing whatever the hell just happened. Thoughts tangled themselves up in your brain, how could he just– leave you like that? Without any explanation, without any reasoning… Did he expect you to just use your imagination? What was this, an open ending book? And why would someone so mindful like Renjun break up with you over a phone call like a coward?

Questions over questions piled themselves up and you tried to call him again and again, but it was of no use. He wasn’t picking up and your texts weren’t delivered because he had blocked you within a span of a few minutes. You sat on the ground defeated, as if the world had stopped spinning for you, as if there was no further purpose in life.

Where did what go wrong?

Whatever the reason for his outrageously baffling behaviour was– because of him, the months which followed were living hell for you.

After that miserable night, you completely shut yourself out. You avoided all your friends, even Haechan and his invites which were actually poor attempts to divert your attention once he found out what happened between you and Renjun.

The coming days, your phone blew up with notifications covering your lock screen. They were all from your friends who were worried as to why you weren’t showing up without a reason. It was only Haechan who you cried out to when he came over after calling you about a hundred times. It hurt him seeing you cut ties with everyone, but being completely honest, he would have too because if the similar had happened to him, he wouldn’t want to hang out with the people who would trigger the painful feeling which came along with those gut-wrenching memories.

But something Haechan couldn’t get his head around was why the fuck would Renjun– someone so genuine and considerate– shatter someone’s heart without any explanation? Haechan never thought of him as someone who would go around playing with another person’s feelings, the type of people Haechan absolutely despised. Renjun was really unpredictable, but he never thought he’d turn out to be such a bastard.

The first month which followed had been the hardest month of your life. Thank to that stupid fucker, you barely passed your finals. And you knew that would happen because after that night, all you did was cry in your bed for hours over hours, repeating all the conversations you had with him over and over again, trying to figure out where everything went wrong. You wanted to scream with everything in you just at the mere thought of his name. You loved him more than you had loved anyone. How could he hurt you like that?

With the second month’s arrival and after a lot of lecturing by Haechan, you finally stopped neglecting your mental health and decided to focus on yourself. Maybe he was right, maybe you overlooking your health wasn’t worth some idiotic player like Renjun. But even though you were trying to move on, you couldn’t bring yourself to stop thinking about him yet. Every night in bed, when your mind replayed a memory of yours with him, his stupidly pretty face caused tears to well up again. All you wished was for that disgusting feeling to leave you alone.

As the third month approached, you started contacting your friends again, but only the close ones. Since the finals were followed by prolonged holidays, it was a good opportunity for you to try to get him off your mind. Having your girls over for movies and stuff was what you actually needed a lot. Infact, their motivational words about how you were worth more than any man on the planet made you feel great about yourself. The feeling which usually came along with the mention of your ex’s name had slowly started to fade out, you were moving on and that was nice for a change.

Finally, when the fourth month began, the you which had buried itself deep down came out of the hiding. You began hanging out with your friends more often and even decided to step outside for some sunlight and fresh air. All of this was just compensation for the emotional rollercoaster you rode for the past three months and, as your girls had convinced you, you were deserving of something much better. Thanks to them, you had nearly forgotten who Renjun was, which made them glad as they saw you live your life once again.

The fifth month was when you realised you had completely moved on because when one of your friends accidentally brought up the topic, you were surprisingly unfazed. His name held no meaning to you anymore. And what helped you even more was that you hadn’t seen him in college once it reopened. Everything was back to normal, you were back to normal. Once again, all your focus was on yourself, with a lesson learnt that no matter what happens, you should always be your top priority.

That’s why when Haechan, as usual, proposed to you the idea of joining another party of his, you gladly accepted his offer. You never thought you would say this, but you actually missed the weirdly–lit rooms of his house accompanied with the sour-sweet smell of liquor filling the air. And besides, it was time to celebrate your freedom, something which you should have done a long time ago.

On the night of the event, you put extra effort into getting ready. You bombarded all your girls with a variety of outfits to choose from, picking the one which got the most votes. Not only that, but you also spent nearly an hour on your makeup. You wanted to look your best, not for someone – but for yourself, as a reward for staying strong throughout your battle.

Once you were ready, you scanned yourself in the mirror and looked for every single detail you put into your appearance. This was the first time in a while you had looked this good. Sure, you thought that you were overdoing it a little, but you were positive that you’d make people do a double take once they set their eyes on you. That’s when a stupid thought entered.

Maybe if he saw me toni–

However, the thought left as soon as it came. Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath.

No y/n, snap out of it…Do not think about that bastard. You’re better off without him.

A shake of the head was all it took to throw out any absurd ideas. Today was definitely not the day you were going to let your trauma get to you again.

Even though you tried to maintain your composure, that one little thought shook your confidence to a somewhat extent. In the pit of your stomach, someplace hidden in your brain, deep down in your heart– you felt the uncertain feeling making its comeback.

“Wow…y/n,” Haechan welcomed you with a dazed smile, “You look stunning.”

“Hello to you too, Haechan,” You giggled at your own wits followed by his embarrassed reaction.

Entering his house, you were greeted by the familiar scene. The whole building was vibrating along with every beat of the song which came out from the blasting speakers. The light was dim, yet you could figure out the silhouettes of all the people you knew. Most of them were on the dance floor hyping each other up , while the others were gathered around the refreshment tables. It also came to your notice that Haechan had installed a whole karaoke booth while you were going through your depressive episode. A lot had changed, still it was all the same.

“Do you want me to stick around with you?” Haechan said out loud, his voice trying to suppress the blaring loudspeakers.

“I think I’ll manage” You mimicked his tone.

“You sure?” his hand found its way to your shoulder, just for providing reassurance.

You replied with a nod and a hum which probably went unheard by him. Giving you a thumbs up, he made his way towards the entrance again so that he could greet the other guests who he had invited over. He was sure you’d do fine on your own, that was until he saw the first person who entered through the doorway.

At first he thought he was seeing things, but after staring for a few seconds, he figured that the guy who had just entered was really there. The sight of the boy’s face made Haechan’s blood boil, his brain refusing to function as range took over all his thoughts. Before he could stop himself, he was already storming towards the boy in context.

“Huang Renjun,” Haechan’s emotions acted faster than his rationality, and he grabbed the other by his collar, shoving him into the wall behind him, “What the fuck are you doing here?”

“Let me go, Haechan–” Renjun struggled as he tried to slip out of Haechan’s grip, which was a bit too strong, “I’m here to talk.”

“Oh, yeah?” Haechan released his hold with a push, which caused Renjun to nearly fall because of the sudden pressure, “Renjun, I don’t think any of us have time for your stupid games. You think you can play with someone's fucking heart and then disappear only to come back one day just to ‘talk’? You need to fuck off and find some other source of entertainment. I don’t even want to breathe the same air as you after what you did.”

“Listen, I’m aware that I’ve been an asshole, but-” Renjun’s excuse of an explanation was cut off by Haechan.

“Asshole is an understatement,” Haechan remarked with a click of his tongue and a tilt of his head, his gaze had never been this dangerous. The usually cool and calm Haechan had disappeared, transforming into something which scared the boy in front of him.

“Haechan, hear me out. I know that I’ve been a complete fucking idiot and I’m not worthy of forgiveness, but I really, really need to see her.”

“Oh there is no fucking way I am letting you near her.” Haechan let out a bitter chuckle. He couldn’t believe the nerve Renjun had. Unbelievable to him that how, after hiding himself for nearly a year, he was standing in front of him. And not only that, he was also expecting to see someone who ran a lap around hell and back, just because of him, “Have you lost your fucking mind or something? Oh wait– You didn’t even have one to begin with.”

“I beg you Haechan,” Renjun pleaded, “I need to set things right. Why did you think I left her? I was scared. I never once stopped loving her, but when I left I knew I wouldn’t ever be able to make her happy… I knew I wouldn’t be able to give her what she deserved, I knew she’d suffer because of me. And that’s– that’s why before I could hurt her, I thought ending everything would be better for the both of us. Clearly, it was the biggest mistake of my life.”

Haechan scoffed in disbelief, “Hell yes it was. And what did you think? Breaking up with her would make her feel amazing? Did you think she would do fucking fine? Huang, thanks to you, she completely shut herself out. She cried for days and days, I had never seen her this miserable, you fucking coward. And now that she’s finally moved on, you decide to show up again, make her pathetic again? Get a life Renjun.”

Renjun’s hand found his way in his hair, a habit of his whenever he felt frustrated, “Haechan please, let me see her. I promise you I won’t hurt her this time. In fact if she wants, I won’t ever come into either of your lives again. I’ll move to another city. But please let me talk to her alone. Just once.”

Looking at him, Haechan saw the sincerity in his eyes. He had known Renjun long enough to know when he was being genuine, when he actually meant what he was saying. Maybe he should let him see y/n once, but what made him hesitate was the thought of y/n’s pitiful breakdown. What if seeing Renjun cut open her hardly–healed wounds again? But in spite of that, she deserved to know the truth… because it seemed like Renjun wasn’t going to leave until he had settled things.

Sorting out his thoughts, he stepped closer. With a finger pointed towards Renjun’s chest, he granted him access. “Fine, I’ll let you see her once. But if you fucking mess this up again…Huang Renjun, I swear I’ll make you regret coming here in the first place.”

Clearing the way for Renjun, Haechan prayed for everything to turn out fine. He was usually optimistic, but what worried him was that they were at his party, and if everything was going with the natural flow, something was bound to take a wrong turn.

You stood at the refreshment table with a girl called Lee Chaeyoung, who had been complaining about how the other girls in her group had decided to show up wearing outfits completely different then her’s, even though they had decided on a theme. It was nice to talk to new people, though you felt like your social skills had nearly died out.

“Oh, there they are!” She continued excitedly as she pointed towards a few other girls waving at the both of you, “I’ll get going now. Feel free to join us though!”

You gave her a warm smile before returning to what was displayed on the outstretched table. As you were deciding on what you should try next, you heard a voice you thought you would never get to hear again.

“Y/n?”

It can’t be…no please no…

You already knew who it was, but you didn’t have the courage to face the owner of the voice. The nasty feeling was back. Five months of convincing yourself that you had moved on ended up at nothing. All the efforts from you and your friends went to waste. Everything was back at square one. You wished that the ground cracked open and devoured you whole, anything was better than facing the person who was calling you.

“Can we talk?”

Collecting every single bit of strength remaining in your body, you turned around to meet him face to face.

You swore you choked on the air you took in. You couldn't see him well, but the way his hair fell gracefully over his forehead, the way his skin shone even in the dark, you knew he was still the same divine boy you had fallen in love with. But the pain he caused you… how could you forget.

“Why are you here Renjun?” The question left your lips stern as it should have been, your eyes never meeting his ones.

“I need to talk to you, please.”

His emphasis on the last word was enough to tell you that he was desperate, but all your trust in him had faded away the night he ended things. Why was he back, why was he scarring you again… nearing his heavenly voice made you want to fall on the ground and start crying right on the spot. Just when you thought you were over, he came back to torture you even more than he had before.

“Why should I? After what you did, I never even want to see you again, Huang.” You finally brought yourself to look at him directly in the eyes, noticing how desolation resided in them. Yet, you didn’t want to feel even a drop of empathy for him, he wasn’t worth any of your feelings.

“Y/n, I swear I won’t make it long.” Renjun took a small step closer to you, but you backed away.

Your action hurt him deeply, making him want to disappear off the surface of the earth. Since the day he broke up, this was the most foolish and shameful he felt.

“I know you don’t trust me anymore, but you do believe Haechan, right? He said I could talk to you only for a while.” He bit his lower lip, “Look… I know you hate me, you have all the right to. But for heaven’s sake, just listen to me. I’ll leave as soon as I’m done, you have my word. ”

Something which you learned about Renjun over the period you dated was that he really was true to his word. Never once could you remember him breaking a promise. It was true that you had trust issues with him, but if Haechan – who shuddered everytime Renjun was mentioned – had given him permission to see you, it must have been something worth your time.

After reluctantly agreeing to listen to whatever he had to say, you followed him out of the crowded room. But as you left, you scanned around hoping to find any sign of Haechan, the only person who could save you from this situation, but the boy wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Failing at your terrible attempt at finding Haechan, you only prayed that the moment would come to an end soon, you just weren’t ready to go through another series of a mental breakdown.

“Well? I don’t have all day, Renjun”, you spat once you were in one of the empty rooms of Haechan’s house.

Although you seemed rigid, all of it was pretend. You were weak once again as his full face came into view. He was as beautiful as ever, maybe even more breathtaking since it had been so long since you last saw him. Even though his charm remained, you could tell he hadn’t been doing well, or so the dark circles under his eyes said. But why was he suffering when it was him who broke up in the first place? Or maybe it was just because of how ‘busy’ his life was, so engaging that he had no time for love, for you.

“I–I don’t know where to begin–” His head hung low, as he fiddled with his fingers.

“You’d better make it quick and not waste my time.” you crossed your arms in front of your chest, looking in any direction but his.

“I’m just here to say sorry and–” he was yet again, interrupted because his words made you lose your cool.

“Oh for fuck’s sake,” you snap, finally looking at him whose eyes were still glued to the ground, “You think saying sorry is going to solve everything? You think I’ll forgive you? Renjun please… This isn’t funny. You’ve hurt me before and you’re hurting me again. I don’t want to go through everything I went through again.”

“No y/n, never. I don’t want to cause you any more pain.”

An irritated groan escapes your lips at how stupid he sounded, “What do you even know? You were the one who ended everything without any reasoning, Renjun. I’m sure you have many more toys, go play with them instead. Let me live, please”

“I never left you for anyone. Neither did I ever move on.” His eyes met yours at last.

Renjun felt like his heart was going to explode. Even after trying to avoid you so much, he had to give in. You looked heavenly, even prettier than the photos he kept on looking at for the past months. He was aware that he was maybe the biggest failure in the world to let go of a goddess like the one in front of him. He wanted to disappear into thin air after facing you. Even if he fell to his knees and begged for your forgiveness, he would never be worthy of it.

“What the fuck.” The sentence slipped out before you could think about it, “Look, I really don’t have time for your ga-” This time, you were the one who got cut off.

“Hear me out, will you?” He took a step closer, making your back hit the wall behind. He was close, way too close. And your stupid heart wasn’t supposed to be beating so fast.

“I-I was scared of loving you, I was scared of not being enough. And you know what? Haechan was right, you’re right. I am a fucking coward… I put myself before you. If I really did love you, I would’ve tried to devote myself to our relationship, save it from crumbling. But no, instead I decided to chicken out and ended up hurting you, something I was trying to save you from.”

You knew Renjun was a sensitive, emotional boy but for the first time in your life, you had seen actual tears in his eyes. If the words leaving his mouth and the thoughts which were going on in his head had made him cry, then he really meant them. Fuck your disgustingly soft heart, you swore you would never feel bad for him but seeing him cry made you pity him. Somewhere in your heart, you still felt the same love for him, even if it was the slightest.

“R-renjun…”

“No y/n. I know no matter how many times I apologise, it is never going to be enough. But since the day I left you, you’ve been the only thought on my mind. Whenever I saw our pictures, your smile set my heart on fire. But everything became worse afterwards, I could hear your laugh echoing around me, I could smell your lingering scent on my clothes, I spent hours thinking about the fucking mess I had created…”

Tears were streaming down his face but it seemed like he took no notice. All he wanted was to win you back, to hold you in his arms once again, to call you his, to make you look at him the way you did before, even if it did seem impossible. But to your surprise, your own eyes were filled with tears. Why? Because that was exactly what you had experienced.

“And I know we can’t go back to how it was,” he continued to lean in closer, so close that you could see the tear droplets decorating his eyes, “But please, give me one last chance. A last try to prove myself, Ito make everything fine…”

His face was only an inch away from yours as his teary eyes looked into your glossy ones. His hand pressed softly against your cheek, head tilted slightly. The both of you knew where this was headed, and something in you just had to give in to him. Cursing yourself for going with the flow, you felt yourself lean into his touch.

“Because I still love you.”

The ghost of a gap which stood there was closed by Renjun, replaced by the feeling of his lips pressed against yours. As if on cue, your hands found their way around his neck, fingers tangling themselves in his hair as an attempt to pull him even closer. You were almost shocked at how you were kissing him back in no time, you didn’t know you were this hungry for his touch.

Renjun’s other hand fell to your waist, sealing any space which remained between you. You missed how his lips felt against yours, how his touch would send jolts down your spine. Your lips continued to dance with his, breaking away shortly only to catch your breath. You thought it was going to feel wrong, but seeing the way your body reacted, everything was more than right.

He was back again, with an honest explanation and it seemed like he had learnt his lesson as well. You thought you would never forgive him, but he was determined to set things right between the two of you. Maybe you could let him start things over again, maybe you could give him one last try again. Afterall, everyone deserves a second chance.

“You asshole,” a slightly–dazed smile was painted on your lips as you pulled away, “You’re lucky Haechan isn’t here otherwise he would have snapped your head off.”

“Thank you, y/n” His forehead rested against yours, eyes closed as he settled in the long–lost feeling “Thank you for trusting me again. I swear I’ll do my best this time, I’ll make us work. I love you so, so much, I’m never letting you go again.”

“You’d better not, otherwise…” You motioned your thumb sliding horizontally against your neck, receiving a light-hearted laugh from him in reply. His beautiful voice hitting your ears was nostalgia, making you feel fuzzy again.

“Deal.” He placed a gentle peck on your nose.

The feeling forming in your gut told you that this time, he wasn’t going to let you down. Perhaps he wasn’t that bad of a human, perhaps all he needed was to face his fears. You figured that he was your first love and you could never be completely over him, even if he had messed with your brain and your heart. You still loved him, and it was good enough to know that he had never stopped loving you either.

Maybe going to Haechan’s party wasn’t so bad afterall.

Redux Dude HCs anybodyyyyy

obligatory I HC dude to have DID moment. ok

Redux is tricky because he totally fucks with the timeline. His journal entries are dated 2017, so that makes it seem like Dude went postal AGAIN 20 yours later and wrecked Paradise in the exact same way he did in 1997. This coulda happened, but in my lil world I got other ideas to zest it up.

Redux Dude is obviously a mix of P1 and P2, right down to his very design. This gives me the idea that Redux Dude must be the result of P1 and P2 co-fronting, sort of like a merged consciousness, and being triggered while all tangled up in their brain. (I'll have to come up with exactly what causes this later)

But they don't start killing just because they're triggered. They remove themself from whatever the trigger is and go home first of all. They're in a tizzy, it's hard to tell who is who and if there's someone else influencing them or if this is just "an episode". It being "an episode" is what it's chalked up to by a very disjointed and disoriented Dude that can't even tell who he's supposed to be at present.

P3 is completely blocked out during this time. He can't intervene, he might not even know whats going on. This P1xP2 blurring situation wholly takes over the front to the point P3 might as well not exist.

From there they start writing their manifesto again, journaling extremely concerning things regarding God and death and the warped view on what Dude considers to be right and just. But no one is around to see it. Dude has no one at this time, not that his ex-wife would have done shit for him anyway.

Regardless, he's "alone" and scared out of his mind and the only other being outside his body who gives a shit is his dog Champ. It's too familiar of a situation. Dissociation his happening so severely, too. It's a truly terrifying experience, one neither P1 or P2 can handle. So Dude's head does what it's good at and creates a guy who can.

Redux is that guy! He's one mean, violent motherfucker. He doesn't have a sense of humor outside thinking it's funny to make others feel as shit as he does. He's kind of a narc, but it isn't genuine. He just talks like he's got a big dick to try and intimidate everyone around him. Once he's a fully formed headmate, the others find out that he's all talk as far as the system is concerned very quickly.

He is capable of all the daily tasks required of the Dudes. He showers them, feeds them, etc. They don't go without. The problem is, Redux's idea of problem solving. He doesn't make it in the front long before he's murdered someone over something petty, convinced they wronged him personally.

Also! Fun thing here! Redux refuses to use the body's voice for anything but hateful shit. He is selectively mute, to use a correct term, but he's never said anything nice out loud in his short life. He will be genuine in headspace. Sometimes. But it's kind of his whole thing that he takes no shit and his walls are built up so high no one can get in to pester him.

I saw someone elses HC mentioning that he is easy to embarrass and I endorse that 100%. He's way too up tight and he can't take a joke.

Now for the burning question.... Does Redux shoot up Paradise AGAIN....................... Yes. :) thank u

Other thoughts in this 9-1-1 season

It baffles me this season is actually full of great moments in their individual character arcs, but because none does have a continuity in terms of narrative, they end up lacking meaning.

Athena did solve Tania's murder, a 40 years old cold case that was the literal reason she became a cop. Did we see any post perspective on that? Nope. Instead she just kept floating around the season. We actually did have some quality bathena scenes supporting each other and flirting here and there, but that is it. Honestly I'm not sure if this is result of AB becoming too expensive for FOX to give much screen time to her, as they did the bare minimum with her because it's in AB's contract to appear in every episode of the show.

Hen had a chance to be captain, quit med school and Karen's lab did explode and she almost died. Did we see any post perspective over that, any discussion or consequence in the narrative for either of them? Nope, in fact Karen's lab exploding only served as a point to show up the relationship beginning, because it doesn't have any continuity.

We did have the Nathaniel thing that just felt confusing to majority of the watchers who could remember that in S2 they did leave the impression that Henren and Nathaniel kept in good terms over Danny and that the path was always open for Nathaniel.

Then we had Hen and Karen fostering again, but since the show didn't care in showing the audience that point, we spent the whole scene asking ourselves "who the heck are these kids?" a question that keeps relevant in the ending as they're possibly adopting a new kid we never heard or never saw. Don't get me wrong I'm excited for Henren adopting again I just wish we didn't get it in such a rushed way.

We also did have comeback of captain Hen in this episode, but as she is concussed, it's not there for long, then we past over her concussion, and we don't even see Karen in the hospital.

Eddie did not have an individual arc in this season at all. At least I don't remember of it, and the fact I don't remember, means whatever he had didn't stick enough to impact me. He was underused. Then instead of keeping that way (which would be a bless actually) they decided to shove the obligatory last minute LI on him. Which kinda makes him hypocrite considering a couple of episodes ago he was saying Buck that dating people they rescue doesn't end well and here he is, trying to date someone he rescued.

Bobby in this season had a role in supporting Athena and his own individual arcs. His sponsor, Wendell, came out of nowhere, and as fast the man appeared, he died. Then, Bobby spent a couple of episodes obsessing over said death, cracked the case, saved Tamara, beat down a dirty rehab clinic and it's psychopathic managers, we actually could grasp a storyline of him becoming a sponsor, and then nothing. The maximum was a mention of Wendel post the episode in one of the scenes, what already can be considered a miracle taking in count those storylines are forgotten the moment their episode ends.

We also had a single episode of Bobby finally acknowledging he does see Buck as his son, we even see him trying to be there for Buck, but the Wendel arc kinda limited that. Sadly, Bobby and Buck barely interacted in a relevant way after it.

Then we had this build up for Bobby trapped in this episode with ominous signs here and there through the entire 6B. To be honest I get the impression that the show has been wanting to hurt Bobby badly (the angst of that would be glorious, let's face it), but loses courage through the process to pull it off properly. I mean, I get it, the man is just everyone's dad and it's traumatizing to see this pillar of strength for the whole team to be hurt, but in this case, because there was no way that fall would have such minimal consequences (and the show just skip all the healing process again), all the mystery and build up for it felt anti-climatic in some sense.

Also, the cruise, It serves both Athena and Bobby's characters and we can only pray the writers will not skip through that and actually start the next season with it taking the opportunity to do a decent opening season disaster (idc the team just went trough a disaster, no one told the show to put time a skip between the bridge collapse and the point where the episode ended).

Buck... *sigh* What can I say? He had at least 4 individual arcs in this season and he is possibly the only character who's the storylines were allowed to have a continuity, the absolute problem in his case is that none of said continuity makes sense or was satisfying to watch.

The "journey to be at ease" wasn't concluded at all, the "leadership arc" felt like we got introduced to it and jumped directly to it's conclusion as nothing in between justify the growth we saw. His "death experience" apparently served for him to accept his parents negligence, but as the matter isn't touched again and we can't even see him interacting much with Bobby in a relevant way after, it just ended up inconclusive. The "sperm donation" is only there where we can't certainly say what was the purpose or what did change in his character, tbh even if the line "because I could" sounds touching and beautiful, it seems a easy way of justify a completely unnecessary arc that literally didn't serve any other purpose other than consume screentime.

Chimney and Maddie. They began the season working the issues of their relationship post S5, then spent the season most likely just enjoying their time (getting some breath on their characters I suppose) until the marriage question pops off and this is their arc for the season.

Ironically this was an arc people complained it was dragged, but it's literally the one single arc in this season that does have a consistence between it's beginning and it's conclusion. The fact it felt dragging is because we are not used in watching the characters work their issues in screen rather than off-screen, so yes it was frustrating to watch Chimney go spiral over the question due his trust issues and anxiety, Hen concern regarding Chim, Maddie uncertainty over the marriage, we even had Hen and Maddie working that "beef" directly, it was frustrating to watch, but these were matters that were properly introduced, worked and concluded through the latest 3 episodes of this season. Hence it's probably the best arc of this season in terms of narrative.

So, from all the individual arcs this season only one did have proper build up, work and conclusion, as majority (because ofc Buck's character had to be underwhelming again) did have it's amazing peaks, but lacked continuity, which is literally the biggest problem of the show currently.

I really hope the move to ABC step up the continuity aspect of the show, because I think it's probably the biggest problem after overexposing Buck and utilizing him only to walk in circles.
