Prompt: Breeding Kink
Chapter 1 - Summary: "I've got you," he promised, whispering into Obi-Wan's ear. "I'll give you what you need." He rolled his hips forward, thrusting his cock inside Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan threw his head back, hand coming up, tangling in Anakin's curls.

Q: What is a bingo? How many prompts will the cards have? How big will they be?
A: A bingo is a fandom challenge, in which participants are given a card (they can be 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 grids) filled with prompts meant to inspire a person to create more works!
For this particular bingo, our bingo cards will be 5x5, which means you will receive 24 prompts, as well as a free space – which means you can fill it with whatever you wish too, as long as it was not already used for a prompt on your card. These are meant to inspire those to create more works about Obikin (Obi-wan Kenobi x Anakin Skywalker), in either a romantic or platonic nature!
Q: How would I receive my bingo card?
A: Either by Twitter, Tumblr, Email or Discord! You’ll get to pick how you feel most comfortable receiving your bingo card. If by email, it will be emailed to you; If by Twitter, Discord or Tumblr, it will be DM’d to you. A link to the rules and schedule will also be sent a long.
Please be sure that you’ve given the correct full username, so it’s easy for the Mods to send it to you.
Q: What’s the bingo’s schedule going to be?
A:   This is the schedule:
Sign-ups will open August 31, 2022.
Cards will start going out September 5, 2022.
Once you receive your card, you may begin creating and posting when you like!
Sign-ups for this bingo will close October 1, 2023.
This round of our Obikin Bingo will end December 1, 2023.
** This is our first bingo round and to give everyone as much time as possible to work on their cards, so this will be an extended round. Which roughly will give people a little less than a year and a half to work on their cards.
**** Please note though this round is a long one, that does not all mean future rounds will be so as well!
Q: How long should I expect to wait to receive my bingo card?
A: A few days at the very least, with a week at most. If you sign up and have not received your bingo card within eight days, then please send a polite message to inquire about it; chances are the Mods are simply a bit busy with offline life or for some reason your signup did not go through.
Q: How do I ensure I'm getting prompts I want/am comfortable creating for?
A: Great question! To ensure that your card is catered to your exact wants/comfort, you will pick the prompts you want on your board! A master list of the potential prompts for the bingo will be going out shortly before sign ups go live (soon!), so you will have plenty of time to decide which prompts you want for your board!
Which leads us into why there will not be any square changes allowed for this round of our bingo, since you'll already be requesting specific prompts you’ve chosen, and approved of for yourself, for your bingo board.
Q: Where can I find the prompt list?
A: You can find the NSFW list here and the SFW prompt list here!
Q: What counts as a bingo? How can I achieve a bingo?
A: To achieve a bingo, you simply need to meet these requirements:
A line (5x5) that is either vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. Also getting the four corners and free space, will count as a bingo!
Q: What requirements are needed to fill a prompt?
A: Ensuring that your square’s prompt is featured within your creation, and meeting these minimum requirements:
Fic/Meta - 100 word minimum.
Podfic - 1 minute and 30 seconds minimum.
Moodboard/Gifset - 3 images minimum.
Graphics/Edits - 1 image minimum.
Art - size 2x2 inch if physical, 200x200 if digital; clean sketch minimum.
Fanvid - 20 seconds minimum.
Animated Short - 20 frame minimum.
Comic/Visual Novel - 3 panel minimum.
Rec List - 6 recommendations minimum.
Playlist - 6 recommendations minimum.
If you have any more questions, or would like a more in depth answer, please ask away! Would be happy to discuss it with you!
Q: There's a lot of amazing prompts, but is there a way we could send in suggestions for the bingo?
A: Yes! Here is a link to a google form where you can send in suggestions for us to add to our ever growing and expanding list of prompts for our bingo!
Q: What counts as a blackout?
A: Filling every square on your card! You do not need to do this, of course, but could be a fun challenge for you to try and do!
Q: Can we use a fill for another event as well (another bingo for example)?
A: As long as the other event is okay with it, then you can absolutely go ahead! Just make sure you hit our minimum requirements for filling a bingo.
Q: What do we need to do to request a new card?
A: You either need to have two completed bingos or blackout your card completely before asking for a brand new card.
Q: What happens when we’ve hit the two bingos/blacked out our bingo card? How do we get a new one?
A: You simply fill out the form once again, picking the prompts you’d like on your new card and give the Mod a week or so to make you a brand new one!
Q: Can we write our fic’s in a non-narrative format? For example, could we write it as if it’s a magazine article, meta, ship manifestos, a text chain, Instagram/Twitter, etc. posts?
A: Absolutely! Let your creativity soar! All you would need to do is ensure the minimum requirements are being met, otherwise, absolutely go wild with how you’d like to do your fills!
Q: Can I repost an old work/art/creation and have it count for a square/prompt fill?
A: No, all works must be newly created to count towards a fill. If it’s already a completed work/art/edit that you’ve already posted, those will not count. If it’s something you’ve been working on but have posted nowhere till now, that counts.
Q: Can I include other characters in my work? Like in a threesome or something else?
A: As long as the relationship of Anakin and Obi-Wan is integral to the work, yes! Anakin and Obi-Wan should interact with one another or be thinking/talking about the other if one of them happens to be separate from the other for the entire timeline of the work.
Q: Is there a collection I can post my work to?
A: Yes! There is a collection on Ao3, which can be found here, that will be opened to posting once cards are being sent out to those who have signed up for this!
*** Edit: We are aware that there is an issue if you try to add a work to the collection. If you type ‘ oeb_round1‘ into your draft on Ao3, where it asks about adding it to a collection -nothing will drop down- and hit post (only once you’re ready!) your work will be added to the collection!
Q: How exactly does posting work for the bingo?
A: As soon as you receive your card, you can begin posting! It’s whenever you feel you’re ready to share your creation.
Q: I know other bingo events require master posts to be made once the round is done, will you be doing that?
A: No, we won’t be requiring a master post to be done up of all the squares you marked off your board. Though if you do make a master post, we will happily reblog it!
Q: Can my stories be a part of a series that's already published?
A: As long as what you’re adding to an already established series, then yes you are allowed to do that! Also if you are adding to a WIP, just be sure it’s a new chapter and that the prompt is mentioned with the chapter.
Q: Can I make art inspired by a story of mine that's already published if it fits a square prompt?
A: As long as it's a new, unpublished piece of art, then yes that would be okay! Our main objective for this is to create new creations, not reuse ones that are already out in the world.
Q: Are we allowed to combine our bingo prompts?
A: Absolutely! You can combine as many of your prompts as you’d like to but please know only one will count as having been filled for our bingo.
Q: Does my work have to be romantic in nature?
A: No! You can absolutely write about platonic Anakin & Obi-wan.
Q: How can I ensure my fill gets reblogged?
A: You can use the tag #obikinbingo23 or @ the blog here or on Twitter, depending where you post your creations. You can also submit a link on the Discord, DM or @ for Twitter, so we can share your creation!
Q: Where can I sign-up for this?
A: You can sign up here!!!!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send in an ask on Tumblr, a DM on Twitter or even an email to [email protected]. Or if you're already a part of our Discord Server, you can ask us there as well!
May The Obikin Be With You!

This fills the Sith AU prompt and gives me a BINGO!
Wrote this in one night which, for me, is insane. It's not where I thought my sith au would go but I'm so pleased with it! A bit different than what I usually write.

New Obikin snippet. A tiny scene from College/University AU, in which bookish lit professor Kenobi met Anakin (who is a total Twink and with that absolutely Obi-Wan's type) at a bar. Just as the sun raises, Obi-Wan flees out of guilt (catholic guilt, let's hope he was nice enough to leave a note) and now is faced with his growing affection for the infatuating young man (or more so a looming sexual crisis)
Tumblr media
I do find it hard to realize my true potential And without the right credentials I am lost
A new attraction meant a possible new love and that could only lead to a new heartbreak, sighed Obi-Wan, dwelling on memories of last night’s Twink.
A knock echoed through his office and tore Obi-Wan out of his thoughts. Office hours, he reminded himself with a smile, grateful for the distraction. The door was opened and a girl entered with confident steps. She was tall for her age, over 5’8. Her bleached hair was braided and formed into two horns on her head – a fashion statement, Obi-Wan guessed. Alternative or Punk or whatever the teens liked nowadays and could combine with Dr. Martens and an excessive amount of black. As an Add-on a couple of the strands had been colored blue to give her some kind of two-tone look. “Ahsoka Tano, my dear.”, he greeted her, smiling with gritted teeth. “How may I help you?”
She was a party beast, known for her excessive drinking and her disaster-attracting behavior. A can of black spray paint was her best friend and together they decorated the walls on Campus with political statements on regular bases. “Fuck the system” or “The system failed us.” seemed to be her favorite ones. Some weeks ago, she had trashed University property with a baseball bat – God knows, where she got it from, probably her brother, he guessed, another nightmarish creature of GenZ – but most importantly she belonged to the 48 students in Obi-Wan’s creative writing course. So, whatever she wanted was now his problem. At least she did not count to the “I-Want-to-kriff-my-father-and-have-no-problem-with-It” Students. Another group of students of his, who paved the way for sleepless nights with their writing – why did father issues need to be romanticized by Pop Culture again?
“Good afternoon, Professor Kenobi”, she greeted and bowed her head down a bit. Untypical for her usual unruly self, he noted. She fidgeted with her fingers and looked down 0at her black-painted nails as if she was nervous and bottling up something, planning something nefarious in her demonic mind of teenage madness. “I wanted to speak to you as the dean of the English faculty.”, she explained, averting his gaze.
He raised an eyebrow and took another sip from his tea cup, no need to lose his mind – yet. He wasn’t going to let himself be lured to become some kind of pawn for her weird games. He was not going to let his helpfulness be exploited. “What can I do for you, Ms. Tano? Is this about your exam?”
“No-“, she tried to say but he had already interrupted her and continued talking. Better to keep her distracted before she can open any sort of box of Pandora in his office, he has to clean up behind her. 1“I haven’t corrected them yet so I can assure you I haven’t found anything troubling. I hoped I have stressed that enough in your course, creative writing is a process that unveils us and leaves us vulnerable. Nothing to be ashamed of. I as the supervisor, have no right to play judge of your content, it is more the mistake you make in the way of telling it- ”
Her bright laughter interrupted his speech and she cringed in her seat as if he had just told her that he believes in extraterrestrials, that are cosplaying as cats on earth. Now that he has the thought - “Sorry, Professor Kenobi, nice words, but we all know that you and your colleague play bingo with our texts.”
“I don’t know what you are-“, he tried, pushing up his horn-rimmed glasses, straightening his back and brushing off the dust of his jacket, realizing how ridiculous he must look – or more how ridiculous he behaves, dancing around his student as if she is a ticking time bomb.
“It’s been leaked years ago, no need to play it down, and posted all over the internet.”, Ahsoka laughed and the timidness from before disappeared from her expression. She pulled out her phone and tipped something into the search bar, the black-painted nails clicking against the screen. “Have you never wondered why your rating on ‘Professor 101’ is so catastrophically low?”
“I just assumed, that it was a natural consequence of my teaching style and the ideals, I project onto my students. A study of the portrayal of the hero figure in 18th-century French literature is not for everybody and therefore I cannot expect maximum grade from all of you.”
“Here.”, she commented and offered Obi-Wan a look at her phone screen. Twitter was opened and a Tweet with an attached photo could be read. It was by a user named ‘Rex_the_tryannosaurusRex’. What a reliable source, he mocked in his mind, why do I even try to teach them anything? before he looked at the image more precisely. Shame flooded his system. It was an obvious bingo grit sketched lazily onto a sticky note and a high score was marked under it. Nearly all squares in the grit were underlined. That year he had won with everything he had noted down, his high score.
“Someone has to provide the material to make bets on and who would be better than the supervisor of the creative writing course?”
“Ms. Skywalker, what you are stating is an accusation that should not be made lightly.”, he tried to sound serious – but how can he with cheeks as red as a lobster?
“Relax, professor.”, she smiled and put the phone back into her leather jacket, which looked awfully familiar to Obi-Wan but he did not dare to think the threat to an end. Wasn’t it the one that he had sneaked his fingers under it to feel the muscled back of –
”Our college is a bit messed up. The lectures are wild, so are our professors and so are we students. In fact, we actually make bets on your bingo game too.”
“Ahsoka Tano Skywalker, this is-“
“For years I have been betting on you on your victory streak, Professor Kenobi. Your gameplay is easy to analyze and if you ask me, pretty predictable but who cares if this provides me with 8 free beers each semester.”, she continued and ignored him completely.
“Please-“
“Winning is a simple task to accomplish if somebody would just follow your rules. Make a vertical row with the father issue, at least one spelling mistake in the word abrupt, everybody seems to change the b and p at least once, and ‘end’ written in capital letters at the end of the essay. Bingo, you win!”, she cheered.
That was a bitter pill to swallow, Obi-Wan told himself and tried to calm down his quickened breathing. The entire student body seemed to have officially lost their mind and loved to drag their professor into their misery. Though examining Ahsoka Tano Skywalker and her cheeky grin, which could only be a portrayal of madness, she seemed to be completely fine with it. She showed symptoms of hysteria and still was caught in her haze of teenage craziness. How has it come that the world did evolve into this?
“You cannot have possibly come to my office hours to humiliate me, Ms. Tano.”, Obi-Wan stated and felt anger coloring his voice, which he tried to suppress by taking another sip from his teacup, the china shaking dangerously. He set it down again with all the grace, that he could manage, and took a long deep breath, just as Qui-Gon explained in his stupid yoga sessions.
“To be honest, I have come exactly for that. I wanted to humiliate you though not for the silly bingo game.”, she grinned and then added,” This is a little joke between you and me.”
“What ridiculous other thing have I committed that makes me worthy of your mockery in your opinion?”
The absolute sweetest smile he had ever seen in his life flashed on her face and she asked in an innocent voice of a little girl, “How does it feel like to have fucked my brother?”
... that's the scene. Hope you enjoy!

all you conceal, let out: ch. 1
Tumblr media
After the death of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, in his grief, takes off on a mission half-cocked to find a lost holocron on Jedha. The next thing he knows, he's waking up injured on a planet he's never seen before, surrounded by calm and an unsettling quiet. Then, after passing out again, he wakes up in a strange home, patched, clean, and safe. And his savior is someone he loved who he didn't think he'd ever see again. Will he be able to get back to his own universe, and does he even want to?
i finally managed to fill another square on my @obikin-events bingo card well after the event was over 🫡 (i tried my best to finish it before it ended, but oh well)
alternate universe travel • obikin • 5.1k words • read on ao3 instead
Tumblr media
Anakin knew his mission wouldn't be easy. He was warned against going, specifically going alone, but he insisted on taking it anyway. He needed to be away from the Temple, from everything that reminded him –
“You still need time to mourn!” His own padawan had cried out in the hangar as he strode away from her, his responsibilities, and any bit of sanity he was still holding onto.
Death is a natural part of life, he thought bitterly as he jogged up the Twilight's ramp, followed quickly by Artoo. I guess you forgot that lesson.
If he had bothered to turn back, he would have seen Ahsoka's deeply troubled countenance, but he wasn't concerned about that. He had a mission to carry out – one that had been important to Obi-Wan. And he would see it through.
But as Anakin slowly lifted his head out of the dirt, he was no longer so sure he could see it through. He didn't even know where he was anymore. His head throbbed as he became aware of the blood rushing through his ears, drowning out all other noise. Not that there was much to hear anyway – no blaster fire, no clankers yelling in their tinny, robotic voices, no shouting clone troopers, no explosions… nothing.
As he became more aware of his being, his whole body ached, hurting so much he wouldn't have been surprised if every single bone in his body was broken. If Obi-Wan were here and could read his thoughts, he would have undoubtedly told him he was being dramatic.
‘Get up, my young padawan, you’re not so old yet.’ He heard his master’s voice so clearly, just as if he was standing right next to him, looking down at his old padawan with a wry grin and his hands on his hips. He frowned – wishing Obi-Wan was here wouldn’t make him appear, no matter how much Anakin wanted it. He turned his head left then right, searching for his ship, for Artoo… for anyone or anything, but he was completely alone.
Anakin gingerly pushed himself up and made it halfway before his arms gave out and he dropped back into the muck with a disgusting squelch . And that, too, was different. Last he could recall, he had been on Jedha, surrounded by orange dust and sand as far as the eye could see, even inside the old temple ruins. But as he looked around now, there was nothing but vibrant multicolored trees, green grass, and a brilliant blue sky.
So where the hell was here?
Tumblr media
Anakin really had no chance to think about his location or predicament because, unsurprisingly, he had passed out again. He didn’t know how long he was out, but when he awoke, he was still on the mystery planet and dusk was settling on the land. It was just as quiet as before, but now the silence was punctuated by the sound of night coming to life.
He always found the night strangely unsettling when wasn't at home. Coruscant’s night never deviated from its day – the ecumenopolis was a constant hum of traffic and pulse of billions of lifeforms. And Tatooine’s night had been… well, when it wasn’t eerily silent, it was a howling sandstorm or some other form of danger such as raiders, Hutt cartels, or baying creatures that could eat you whole.
He’d forgotten the true sound of silence, the feeling of it. The way it crept into your bones, enveloped your senses, and made you feel uneasy and cold. Not long after the war began, they all became quickly accustomed to being constantly surrounded by dozens, sometimes hundreds of other beings all the time, whether on board a star destroyer or in battle. Then add to that, life on Coruscant, in the Temple, and pair it with his own constant loud thoughts, feelings, and anxieties, and he really couldn't remember the last time he'd experienced a true quiet like this. Had he ever?
Anakin summoned enough energy to roll over with a grunt. His face was covered in muck and dirt, he could feel it in the pull of his skin when he winced. His cloak was wet, but he still used the voluminous sleeves to wipe it away. All his clothes were wet as it turned out – not exactly soaked , but damp enough to be uncomfortable and annoying. He became more aware of every pain in his body – temples throbbing, joints aching, and most inconvenient of all, the sharp stab of pain in his side. It was most likely a fractured or bruised rib… he hoped anyway.
As he continued to lie supine in the grass, he took stock of the rest of his body, curling and straightening his fingers then rolling his arms across the dirt to test the movement. Next he tried wiggling his toes inside his boots then flexed his calves, and finally pulled up his legs to bend his knees. Nothing seemed broken. He finally pushed himself up until he was in a sitting position, swaying a bit as his vision swam.
Forgetting about all his physical aches, his gloved hand moved to his belt, searching for his communicator, but it was nowhere to be found. Then it flew to his left hip where his lightsaber usually sat, a comforting weight always at his side, but it wasn’t there either.
"Shiiiiit," Anakin whispered. He looked at the ground around him, blinking, his eyes straining to see anything at all in the grass in the low light. It could be anywhere. He would find it – he would – but he couldn’t focus right this second. He scrambled to stand but it was too much, too soon and he fell back into the dirt.
He groaned long and loud into the rapidly darkening night.
But then, he heard the most beautiful sound to his buzzing ears – the sound of help. Help was on its way in a beaten-up X-34 landspeeder, which sounded like the combustor of the axial compressor needed to be replaced. He’d never been so happy in his life to hear the low rumble of an engine that needed some serious maintenance, or more happy that he had not completely forgotten everything he knew.
A wave of dizziness and nausea came over him, but he leaned forward and stretched out his arm as the speeder rumbled closer.  “Help?” He could barely muster the single-syllable word. Not that he could be heard over the noise of the engine anyway, but he had to try.
Then, unfortunately, he blacked out once again.
Tumblr media
Anakin slowly came-to, aware of warmth, comfort, and a voice, calm and gentle, like home . He suddenly remembered being lifted, a hand on his cheek, his forehead, the cool night air then –
Nothing more.
For the third time in less than half a day, Anakin awoke from slumber. Except this one had been much more fitful than the others. He still ached, but at least he was no longer lying face down in mud in wet clothes. Instead, now he was lying on a sofa under a blanket, his head cradled in a soft pillow, and he was clean and comfortable. The thought was concerning, but he'd get to that later.
Golden sunlight filtered in through the room’s shades. It was certainly no longer night, and it seemed rather bright, but he had no idea what time it could possibly be. He squeezed his eyes tightly and tried to remember… He could recall nothing at all of how he got here – on the planet or in this room. He had been on Jedha with Artoo and a couple of troopers from 501st (who showed up at Ahsoka's insistence), combing through an old excavation site. It was the last-known location of an unknown holocron, apparently buried amongst the ruins, and looking for it had felt like searching for a single star in a nebula.
When the Jedi first learned of its existence (or ‘ potential existence’ rather, as Obi-Wan had insisted), neither he nor Obi-Wan had truly believed in the presence of such a holocron on the planet. Something like that would surely have been recovered long ago! Obi-Wan’s incredulity echoed in Anakin's head.  But t hey were instructed to at least look, as it would have been rather foolish to allow something like that to languish untouched with the potential of falling into anyone’s hands. And if the rumor was true and they did find such a thing, they could study it. Incredulity aside, Obi-Wan wasn't very good at completely hiding his interest (or at least not to Anakin), and he had remarked several times on how he'd love to study it and learn all its secrets. Anakin had adored the way the older man’s eyes lit up just talking about it. He wouldn't have dreamed of ever telling his old master that.
Then he would never get a chance to. Obi-Wan became one with the Force, leaving Anakin behind forever, and he was forced to go on, to live the rest of his life without his best friend and master. It had been three months, and the wound was as raw and as fresh as the day Obi-Wan was taken from him. He couldn't find peace no matter what he did or who he talked to. They weren't Obi-Wan.
Master Kenobi’s loss was felt keenly by all the Jedi, but Anakin was sure he didn’t mean as much to them as he did to him. His master was gone and Anakin would never have peace again.
So Anakin had gone to Jedha on a half-cocked mission to find the holocron, because Obi-Wan had wanted to find it, and Obi-Wan wanted to study it, and that was a last wish Anakin could honor even though every fiber of his being cried out for the loss of the man he loved.
Perhaps the holocron held secrets to eternal life. Perhaps there was a way to see or speak to him again. Feeling delirious with the prospect, Anakin had run headlong into the temple ruins built inside a cave mouth of a large plateau, feeling as if he was getting close. The pull of the Force was strong, like a nexus of power. He remembered a thrumming and buzzing in his head then nothing at all after that.
And now he was in some house he didn't know, on a planet he didn't recognize.
He carefully stretched out with his senses and found that all was calm. He reached further looking for someone, anything , but didn’t get much beyond the general course of life on the planet. Then suddenly, on the edge of his consciousness, a single life form appeared, close… It was inside the house with him.  Anakin should be on high alert, but he couldn’t find it within himself to be. Perhaps he would come back to the why later. Wherever he was, he felt safe and not in any danger. The life form felt calm, relaxed, and slightly amused. Then suddenly he heard a low humming, but not like the humming of the Force, but a living being softly humming a tune. It wasn’t in the room with him but it was close. Then it stopped.
"Ah, you're awake."
Anakin whipped his head in the direction of the voice. THAT VOICE. A voice he knew better than anyone else's. A voice he had heard most every day since he was nine years old, a voice he'd grown to love more than anyone else's. He twisted around to get a better look, hissing when his side and back protested, clearly still in no shape to move so quickly.
“Take it easy!” The voice warned.
He watched in disbelief as the source of the voice set a tray down on the small table in front of the sofa. As he took in the man before him, his chest constricted and tightened and his breathing shallowed. He stood on the precipice of a panic attack with no way to ward it off. Because here was Obi-Wan Kenobi in the flesh, standing in front of him, whole and alive .
He was older than Anakin knew him to be at the time of his death – by five years or so, maybe more. His hair was longer, not quite as long as it was right before the start of the war, but long enough so the ends curled around his ears and sat on the collar of his shirt. There were more strands of grey threaded throughout his hair and at his temples, more lines etched into his face, particularly around the eyes. His skin had taken on more of a golden hue than Anakin had ever seen – like he spent most of his time outside – which also meant more, darker freckles dotting his forehead, cheeks, and the bridge of his nose.
He was wearing a light colored work shirt with the buttons undone to mid-breastbone and the sleeves rolled to the elbows. His trousers were the color of rust and he wore tall, brown boots. The clothes hugged his strong figure as if they were tailor-made specifically for him. Anakin couldn't remember the last time he'd seen Obi-Wan in anything but his loose, cream-colored tunics, robes or under blacks and armor.
He looked like a man untouched by war, healthy and content. Anakin had forgotten that once Obi-Wan did look like that, but it was long ago. He stared, slack-jawed, as he thought of Obi-Wan’s pale face and lifeless, clear blue eyes as he held him in death. This was Obi-Wan as he could have been – should have been. Anakin's heart clenched in his chest.
"I brought you some breakfast," the man finally added, still hesitant and wary of what Anakin would do next.
Feeling panicked at the strange normality of it all, Anakin attempted to fully sit up so he could defend himself if needed, but he was still in quite a bit of pain. He grabbed his side and winced as the aching muscles in his core contracted. Then his fingers came in contact with a large bandage stuck to his left side.
"Careful now!" Obi-Wan rushed over to grab Anakin's arm and steady him. The touch was like a brand in his skin. He ripped his arm away and stood quickly, hitting his shin on the small table as he stumbled away from the strange Obi-Wan. He blindly reached again for where a lightsaber should be at his hip, only to find it still wasn't there.
Instead, Anakin brandished the knife he'd grabbed off the tray in his haste to distance himself from the imposter. "What kind of trick is this? Who are you?"
Not-Obi-Wan put his hands up in a half-hearted surrender. "I'm not really thrilled about being threatened in my own home. Even if it is with a dull butter knife. I can assure you, I am unarmed."
"Obi-Wan… what… what are you doing here?"
Confusion colored the man's features, but it was there and gone just as quickly. "It's just Ben,” he said, slowly putting his hands down.
Anakin's eye brows pinched as he frowned, “Ben? I– nevermind!” He thrust the knife out in warning and Ben's hands flew back up. "Where am I? How are you here??"
"Well this is MY house, and you're a guest in it, though I have half a mind to throw you out now for threatening me."
This ‘Ben’ was so much like his Obi-Wan, it took his breath away. The way he talked, even if the accent was slightly less of the clipped Coruscanti, and more of a slight brogue, then right down to the casualness with which he handled Anakin's threat… But behind the light-hearted jest, there was a definite wariness, a bit of fear for this complete stranger in his home. Because Ben clearly didn't know him. Anakin meant nothing to him. This wasn't his Obi-Wan.
Anakin blinked as he tried to remember anything before he woke up, trying to make sense of this situation. Maybe he was actually lying in a cot in a tent in the middle of a dusty desert on Jedha. Or perhaps on a moderately comfy bed in the Halls of Healing back inside the Jedi Temple. Or maybe he was floating inside a bacta tank – injured, knocked out, and healing. Yes, that was it. He was asleep and this was a dream, and in his great grief, he'd conjured up this older Obi-Wan. An Obi-Wan who was not only alive, but content, happy, and healthy. Of course he would – that's what Anakin wanted for his friend and the man he loved. He had created a life that Obi-Wan didn't get to live.
Tears began to gather in the corners of his eyes. He squeezed them shut tightly and willed himself to wake up.
"You seem to be very hurt," the voice spoke again, and Anakin opened his eyes. "Why don't you eat something then go lie down?"
"Maybe I am hurt, but this isn't real, you're not real," he said resolutely. "I am hurt, yes. But I'm at home, in the Temple." Maybe if he said it forcefully enough and without any doubt he would make it so.
Not-Obi-Wan stepped towards him and Anakin stepped back.
"I have no intention of hurting you, I think you need to lie down before you hurt yourself," Ben stepped towards him again, one hand extended, palm up as if he was trying to settle a wild nexu.
“You know that I could hurt YOU,” Anakin said, his voice wavering. The knife in his hand trembled.
“You won’t though.”
Their eyes fixed on each other as Ben stepped closer. Anakin didn't know whether he wanted to fight or flee, but he felt immobilized so he did neither.
Before he knew what was happening, Ben lunged forward and wrapped his right hand around Anakin’s wrist, gripping it tightly, forcing him to drop the knife, then another arm came around Anakin’s neck and squeezed.
“Sleep,” was the last word Anakin heard before he did just that.
Tumblr media
Anakin dreamt of Obi-Wan.
But not the Obi-Wan he had known since he was nine years old. It was an Obi-Wan he'd known for maybe nine minutes.
In his dream, this Obi-Wan looked exactly like his Obi-Wan, he dressed differently but otherwise moved and talked like him. His gestures, jokes, and smiles were the same, even down to the lingering sadness behind his eyes that Anakin had always noticed when Obi-Wan thought he wasn’t looking. But in his dream, he was still on this other planet, and not Coruscant, and Obi-Wan wasn’t a Jedi, but a farmer.
Anakin was inside a small house which sat in the middle of several acres of land covered in trees and lush fields. Directly behind the home was a large garden where the older Obi-Wan currently stood amongst many kinds of plants, small and large. He was naked to the waist, and the sinking sun's rays reflected off his sweat-shiny skin, making it glisten. Ben was a bit thicker than Anakin remembered ever seeing Obi-Wan, but he was still strong and lithe. The muscles in his back and arms flexed as he dug into the earth and bent down to plant new seeds. Obi-Wan finally stood and turned, wiping sweat from his brow with a bit of cloth he pulled from his back pocket.
“Anakin,” he said with the loveliest smile Anakin had ever seen.
This Obi-Wan loved him. Anakin knew it somehow.
Anakin’s eyes flew open, he was sweating and his breathing labored. He sat up quickly, blankets pooling at his waist, and looked around. Daylight was fading, but it was enough to illuminate the room and he could see it was homey and cozy. He was now in a small bedroom he didn’t recognize in a very comfy bed. Far more comfortable than anything he'd grown used to in battlefield tents and aboard Venator destroyers. He looked to his right, wondering if he’d find Ben there, since this was surely his room, but when he found it empty, he exhaled, strangely relieved.
The bed was a modest size, easily large enough for two, but not so big that two people would never meet in the night. A dresser sat pushed up against the wall opposite with a small mirror resting on top. From where he sat, Anakin could see there were some trinkets and other items there as well, but he couldn’t make out what they were. A large chair sat by the window with a blanket haphazardly thrown over and a discarded datapad in the seat. On the small bedside table next to his side of the bed, there was a lamp, and surprisingly, his communicator and his lightsaber.
Anakin pushed away the covers and swung his legs over the side. He picked up his lightsaber to feel the familiar and comforting heft. Ben had undoubtedly found it, but it was a bit surprising that he had actually returned it to him. Maybe he didn't know what it was, didn't know what Anakin could do with it. Well, at least he'd be spared the 'your lightsaber is your life' lecture, though Anakin would have given up his lightsaber forever just to hear it again.
He was still wearing only a pair of sleep pants and he was glad to find that the glove over his mechno-arm was still in place. He wiggled his toes then slid off the bed and stepped onto soft, cool carpet and stretched away some of the stiffness. It felt like he had been asleep for days. At the window, he pulled back the curtain slightly to peer outside. The sun was setting in the distance behind the foothills, painting the sky in soft pinks, oranges, and purples. The landscape was bathed in a soft yellow, but none of that beauty compared to the man standing in the middle of the large vegetable garden.
Just like in his dream.
His heart rate picked up again.
Was he even awake now? Or was all of this a dream?
Suddenly small flashes of what he thought were recent memories returned to him – a pair of strong arms wrapping around his back and under his knees, the feel of a warm, wet cloth being dragged across his face gently, humming in another room, then Anakin threatening to stab this beautiful man with a butter knife. He flushed, hoping against hope that that was also only from his dream.
He dropped the curtain and made his way through the house and out onto the back porch. Ben was practically glowing in the evening sun. It only took a second for him to look up and smile.
“Hello there.” Ben thrust his shovel into the dirt, then rested his elbow on the handle. Anakin’s mouth suddenly became very dry. “Oh, I’ve hidden all the butter knives,” he added with a slight twist to his mouth. Anakin's face fell – so that one was true. “However, that thing I put on the bedside table seems like it could do much more damage than a knife.” Ben huffed as he pulled a cloth out of his back pocket and wiped his face.
“That 'thing'??” Anakin scoffed as he crossed his arms over his chest. His still-bare chest, he was reminded. Maybe from that distance Ben couldn’t tell that he was blushing. “That thing, Ben, is my lightsaber. MY LIFE. You are… were always so fond of reminding me.” Ben chuckled but said nothing else. It felt so odd for him to say nothing at all about it.
They stood and stared at each other for a few moments. Anakin allowed the stillness and quiet of the evening to envelope him once more. Was this really his current reality? Or was it possible that his mind had actually created some world so tangible, so intricate and detailed? An Obi-Wan who was both Obi-Wan and not simultaneously, and who had no clue who Anakin was.
Ben pulled his shovel from the ground and walked towards the house. He stopped below the porch and stared up at Anakin. “You must be hungry, would you like latemeal?”
As if right on cue, his stomach growled. “Yes, okay.”
“Let me get cleaned up and I will get it for you,” Ben said with a nod and passed by Anakin without a second look.
Tumblr media
Anakin sat at the small table in the kitchen and watched as Ben deftly moved around the space preparing the meal. It was strange how everything seemed so familiar, from the way he stood and held himself, to the way he drank from his own mug, even down to how quiet and focused he was on the task. It was strange to know and love the man so well, but to not know him at all. Because this still wasn't his Obi-Wan. No matter what his dream told him. No matter what he wanted to believe and be real. But he was so like him, it made his heart ache. He knew a mind consumed with grief could create fantastical things, believe the unbelievable, especially if it brought back loved ones. He'd also heard stories of beings traveling through time and space, but that’s all they were supposed to be, stories – ‘wistie stories' his mom told him before bed or outlandish yarns spun by his fellow padawans as they shirked their duties.
But if that was true, and he'd been flung into another time and universe… Where was Anakin Skywalker here? And why wasn't he with Obi-Wan Kenobi?
He snapped out of his reverie when Ben set some food down in front of him then took his own place in the chair across the table. It was intimate, but Anakin couldn’t think about it too much because he was starving and the food smelled amazing. It was a needed distraction.
Between sips from his mug of tea, Ben finally spoke up. "I didn't see a ship. Or a speeder, for that matter."
"Uh well, I didn't have one," Anakin said as he pushed the food around on his plate. "At least not here." He shoved a large chunk of fried tuber in his mouth.
Ben narrowed his eyes, "I'm not exactly close to the nearest town, are you saying you walked?"
“No,” Anakin said around a mouthful of food. "I just ended up out there.”
Ben frowned, "How do you mean ‘ended up’?”
"Just that. I was on Jedha then I woke up in a mud puddle… I think."
Ben took another sip of his tea. "You've still not given me your name. What do I call you?"
Anakin felt like sulking, "You really don't know it." It wasn’t a question.
"Well, I… you seem to talk a lot in your sleep, and I thought maybe you'd mention it, but strangely, I only heard my own name over and over.” He looked down then cleared his throat. “But I can't really understand how you know my given name.” He stroked his beard.
Anakin felt as confused as Ben – or actually Obi-Wan. But he did know he didn’t like the way that sounded. He couldn’t remember any part of his dreams except for whatever vision that he had of Ben in the field before he saw him out there. He was now afraid of anything he might have said.
He toyed briefly with giving a fake name, but then decided against it at the last minute. This was Obi-Wan… some Obi-Wan, and with him he was always Anakin. “It’s Anakin.”
"Anakin," Ben repeated softly.
He ducked his head and continued eating, hoping that the older man would find something else to stare at for a little while. But he could feel his eyes still on him.
After a prolonged silence, Anakin spoke up again. "I'm not from here, wherever here is." Ben stared at him but kept silent so Anakin would continue. "I'm from Coruscant. Well, that's where I live anyway… In the Jedi Temple."
Ben’s eyebrows raised briefly then he looked down into his mug. “You’re a ways from Coruscant.”
Well now they were getting somewhere, and at least Coruscant existed in this universe. "And where is here?"
"Stewjon," Ben said as he sat back in his chair.
Of course. Of course! It was so obvious now – he’d been sent to Obi-Wan’s birth planet for some reason. Maybe it would be a starting point for figuring out the how and why.
"And what of the war?"
"What war?"
“What war?” Anakin huffed, "THE war, Ben, the war against the Separatists!?"
Ben shook his head in response. "I'm afraid I don't know it. I try to keep up with news from the Core Worlds as much as possible, but I've never heard of a war or the Separatists. Though, from the name alone, I can possibly figure out their platform.”
Anakin leaned forward, settling his elbows on the table. "When I say I'm not from here, I mean, not from HERE – this universe." It was out there – now it was up to Ben to decide what to do with it. Ben's brow dipped slightly, but he remained silent. "I am a Jedi, a general in the Grand Army of the Republic, I was your…" He rubbed his hand across the back of his neck. Did he even know the Jedi? He certainly wasn't his master here. "I was on a mission on Jedha, then… then, I woke up here."
Ben sat back and crossed his arms over his chest. He didn't believe him. Anakin could tell even though he said nothing.
He huffed again and ran a hand through his hair. "I want to get back, I need to get back. I don't belong here." Even if he could be at Obi-Wan’s side again, where he did belong.
Ben stroked his beard in thought. "Anakin, what you're saying… it's impossible. You can't hop to another universe. You can't travel through time or to another reality."
Anakin stood quickly, nearly upsetting the chair. "But I did it! And I’m here talking to you! An Obi-Wan who… who doesn't know or care anything about me!"
"Anakin, come now, that's not–" Ben started but Anakin wasn’t staying to listen.
He left the kitchen quickly and headed back to the bedroom, slamming the door behind him. He threw himself down into the bed, wanting to scream into the pillow.
If he couldn’t even remember how he got here in the first place, how in the hell could he find a way back? And Ben clearly wasn’t going to help him. Anakin had no holocron here or a way to get back to Jedha to check. He couldn’t even get back to Coruscant, to the Temple. Maybe others like Mace and Yoda or Plo Koon existed here, even if he didn’t. Maybe they would know and could help him.
Anakin closed his eyes to keep the tears from slipping free, but they fell anyway, wetting the soft pillow underneath his head.

editor-in-chief obi-wan and assistant anakin | (4.2k)
Obi-Wan scowls at his watch as he makes his way through the office space. He swallows down the groan that’s been building up in his chest, refusing to let his growing irritation and impatience echo around him. There is no need to involve any of the staff in his souring mood. It’s not like any of them can do anything about it, anyway. The only who can is, incidentally, also the one who brought it on.
Anakin was supposed to go over the budget report with him thirty minutes ago. Obi-Wan is used to Anakin being a bit liberal in interpreting set appointments between them but he’s never actually been this late to any of them before. And whenever something had come up, he’d notified Obi-Wan in time, and vice versa.
Now, Obi-Wan can’t even reach him because Anakin—uncharacteristically—left both his tablet and phone, and his headset at his desk. He’s not answering his personal phone either. And he’s nowhere to be found.
Obi-Wan exhales deeply. It’s been a long day and the cursed budget report is the last thing he wants to do, but it’s also the last thing he has to do today before he can go home. The thing remains the bane of his existence and the only thing—the only one—who gets him through it is Anakin.
It’s not like Obi-Wan can’t go through the report alone. He has plenty of times until—
He smooths out his cuff.
—until one day Anakin had noticed how tedious Obi-Wan found it and joined him to get through it faster, presumably. Since then, it’s become something like a ritual, a pocket of time just for them: Anakin always blocks off more time than they would really need if they worked through it diligently. Except their conversations always drift off to other topics, growing into discussions about this thing or that, before they’d return to the task at hand.
It’s Obi-Wan’s guilty pleasure. He rather selfishly has not yet told Anakin that it’s not part of his job to—well, to basically hold Obi-Wan’s hand while he’s suffering through the budget report. For all that they see each other every day and spend so much time together, it’s rarely just the two of them and even rarer still a conversation that doesn’t revolve around some issue concerning the magazine.
Obi-Wan has quickly learned that he quite likes having Anakin’s undivided attention. And their budget report meetings give him just that.
So it’s not that he can’t do it by himself. It’s that he doesn’t want to.
It’s also that Anakin was supposed to grab the report.
Obi-Wan is just about to resign himself to a long night at the office when he hears Anakin’s laughter as he passes the Closet. The sound skitters down his spine in a pleasant tingle. A woman’s answering laugh joins Anakin’s.
Irritation bubbles in Obi-Wan’s gut. Anakin was supposed to meet him a half hour ago. Instead, he’s in the Closet doing—something. With someone.
At least he’s not in the utility closet, a treacherous little voice in his head soothes.
Taking a deep breath in, Obi-Wan pushes through the glass doors of the Closet.
The admonishment dies on his tongue the second he rounds one of the clothes racks and spots Anakin standing in the middle of the dressing area.
“No, no, no,” the petite woman standing right in front of him is saying, words catching on a laugh. She reaches up and undoes the first few buttons of the pale blue dress shirt Anakin’s donning. Her fingers graze the skin of Anakin’s throat and the bob of his Adam’s apple is visible even from where Obi-Wan is standing. “You don’t want to look like a stuck up econ major.”
Anakin laughs. “Maybe stuck up econ major is exactly my style,” he says as he tips his head down to look at her.
A snort makes Obi-Wan turn his head. Aayla is stretching on one of the chaise lounges. “No self-respecting econ major would be caught dead wearing what you usually wear.”
“She’s right,” the woman in front of Anakin says as he starts rolling up one of his sleeves.
Obi-Wan recognizes her. Padmé Amidala, a young, rapidly rising politician, who’s the subject of their coming issue’s editorial. Obi-Wan had met with her a few days ago to talk about some details, and she’d been slated for a dress rehearsal today. It would explain why she’s here.
And why Anakin got distracted and forgot about the budget report. He’s been mooning over her since the first time she stepped foot in the building.
Obi-Wan ignores the tight-cold-hot feeling behind his ribs.
“Fine, okay,” Anakin huffs with a small head shake and a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. He rolls the other sleeve up to his elbow, exposing the sinewy stretch of his forearm. Obi-Wan’s mouth is suddenly dry. “It’s definitely not my style. I could do stuck up econ major, though. Stuck up econ majors couldn’t do me.”
Obi-Wan clears his throat and decidedly does not think about anyone doing Anakin.
Anakin’s eyes flicker up to meet his, and Obi-Wan can see the exact moment he realizes.
“Oh, shit,” Anakin says empathetically. “The budget report—”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan says. He crosses his arms over his chest and raises his eyebrows. “I’m glad you have not forgotten about it entirely. Though I suppose this…” Obi-Wan tips his head to indicate their surroundings, “is more entertaining.” It comes out more sardonic than he means it but Anakin’s slight wince, the way he ducks his head and passes a hand over the back of his neck, feels oddly satisfying.
“It’s my fault, actually,” Padmé interjects.
I’m sure it is.
She smiles apologetically at Obi-Wan. Her hand is on Anakin’s biceps as if to soothe him and she’s standing half in front of him, like she’s shielding Anakin from Obi-Wan. It’s a ridiculous thought, of course, but their proximity to one another grates on Obi-Wan’s nerves like few other things do.
He’s being irrational. It’s become an odd pattern.
“Please.” Obi-Wan waves her words away with a smile that feels fake. “You are far lovelier company than I am, I’m sure. It’s no wonder Anakin got sidetracked.”
Anakin scowls lightly, eyes darting from him to Padmé, and then to his feet, as if he’d been caught in something. A beautiful, rosy pink flush rises to his cheeks, the way it always does when Anakin is embarrassed or caught off guard.
Obi-Wan almost feels bad.
Almost.
Padmé steps away from Anakin then, revealing his full outfit. The pale blue button down is tucked into a perfectly fitting pair of black dress pants. Black suspenders with silver clasps run along his torso, emphasizing the lines of Anakin’s upper body. The clothes show off his trim waist and the width of his shoulders. The open collar that allows tantalizing glimpses of his clavicle and throat, and the rolled up sleeves make him look casual with an almost understated, effortless elegance, similar to and yet wildly different from Anakin’s usual style.
Obi-Wan’s mouth is suddenly as dry as the Tatooine deserts.
Anakin spreads his arms a little. When he meets Obi-Wan’s gaze there’s something akin to a challenge in the upward tilt of his chin, but his eyes keep fluttering away and he’s chewing on his bottom lip, the dusky blush still faint on his cheeks.
“Doesn’t he look fantastic?” Padmé asks with a little, excited clap of her hands.
Obi-Wan tries to gather spit in his mouth to unstick his tongue from the roof of his mouth. “You look―”
A few things cross his mind none of which he can utter in a professional environment without getting slammed with a sexual harassment case, rightfully so.
“Dashing,” he finishes, rather lamely, he supposes. Dashing doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Anakin rolls his eyes at him but his flush darkens a bit. “Please rein in the compliments.”
“I can hardly contain myself,” Obi-Wan returns with a wry smile. His mouth still feels dry.
“It is quite a glow-up,” Aayla chimes in as she sits up, crossing her legs at the ankles. She grins at Anakin good-naturedly before propping her chin on her palm. “You don’t look like a dumpster racoon anymore.”
“Yeah?” Anakin says and raises his brows at her. “What do I look like now, then?”
Aayla tilts her head from side to side as if to ponder. “Like a regular racoon,” she decides with a shit-eating smirk. “Still a pest.”
Obi-Wan sees Anakin bristle and Aayla’s smirk widen. They squabble like siblings, and Anakin always rises so easily to her bait. It’s as entertaining as it is exasperating, at times.
“May I ask what brought this… makeover on?” he asks before the two of them can really get into it.
“Oh, I asked about Anakin’s wardrobe choices and when he said that he’s embarrassed about working here, I asked him to show me how he’d dress otherwise,” Padmé answers. She’s made her way over to the shoe rack, probably to pick out a fitting pair for Anakin’s outfit.
Obi-Wan barely registers it, though. He glances at Anakin. “You’re embarrassed working here?”
“No!” Anakin says hastily. His gaze skitters away as he turns and slips on his sneakers.
“Oh,” Padmé says again. “No, that’s not―”
Obi-Wan doesn’t want to hear Padmé’s explanation, though. He wants to hear Anakin’s. But Anakin is busy bustling around to collect his own clothes. He grabs the binder with the budget report before straightening. His eyes don’t meet Obi-Wan’s eyes once.
“I’ll bring back the clothes later,” Anakin says over his shoulder to Aayla. He nods at Padmé and then beelines for the door as if someone was chasing him.
“He’s not―” Padmé starts again when Obi-Wan turns to say his goodbyes but stops, wincing. He smiles at her, and it feels just as fake as before.
“Have a nice evening,” he says instead of waiting for a more detailed explanation, and leaves.
Anakin is already in his office when Obi-Wan gets there. He’s moving around the room as if hounded by something, all jerky motions and hasty gestures while he gathers pens, colored sticky notes, and other stationary they might need.
Obi-Wan gives himself a moment to watch him, take him in with the changed clothes, and how he looks in this space now.
Anakin is striking. He’s always been―Obi-Wan knew that boy was trouble from the first moment they met. The clothes have never taken anything away from Anakin’s odd charisma, have never made him less beautiful. And yet, there’s a subtle change to him now, in this new attire. Obi-Wan is certain he wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t worked closely with Anakin every day, and even so it’s hard to pin down exactly.
He looks, inexplicably, as if part of him has been revealed.
A number of questions rattle around in Obi-Wan’s skull, one more pressing than the other, and all just as desperate and anxious. Something in him wildly roars at the thought that Anakin is embarrassed working at Jedi, and it begs him to ask, to implore, to find a way to make Anakin comfortable. Because, that part of him says, if he’s embarrassed, it’s only a matter of time before he leaves.
Obi-Wan swallows every question that threatens to fall off the tip of his tongue. It’s not his place to pry into something that’s clearly personal and private. Especially as Anakin’s boss.
“Anakin,” he says gently.
Anakin barely glances up before his gaze skitters away again. “I’ll order some food from Dex’s and then we can get started on the report.”
“It’s late,” Obi-Wan reminds him. Outside, the approaching evening casts the facades of the highrise buildings in the first blue hues of the night. “There’s no need for you to stay. Go home.”
“No. I know you’re going to sit here and go through this thing until it’s done,” Anakin says, dropping the collected items on the low table in front of the couch.
“Well, yes―”
“Yes, and it’s my fault that you have to stay late, so I’ll help you get it done faster,” Anakin argues as he moves back to Obi-Wan’s desk.
Obi-Wan smooths a hand over his beard. Anakin always works doggedly to fix mistakes he thinks he’s made, often with such obstinate insistence that he runs himself ragged in an attempt to prove―something. It has blown up in his face on occasion and created―not a problem, per se, rather―a…situation that Obi-Wan has needed to fix. Anakin’s red face and clenched jaw has always set his teeth on edge in these moments but he still doesn’t understand how to help him…or what even makes Anakin react to perceived mistakes the way he does.
“That’s very kind of you,” Obi-Wan starts. “But I can’t ask you to stay late to do this. It’s not part of your job.”
He sees Anakin’s jaw work as he stares at a point between his hands on the desk. With a deep inhale, Anakin says, “I’m your assistant. It’s right there in my job title that I’m here to assist you.” Anakin meets his eyes now with a stubborn set to his mouth.
Obi-Wan barely manages to bite back a groan.
“Besides,” Anakin adds and grabs the phone, already dialing, “I wouldn’t get free food if I went home now.”
Before Obi-Wan can say anything, the person on the other end picks up and Anakin gives them the order. He rattles it off smoothly, getting everything Obi-Wan would order from Dex’s for himself, and it makes something hot pour through Obi-Wan’s ribcage. Obi-Wan allows himself a moment to enjoy the feeling of its warmth spreading through his body.
“Just don’t leave stains on the pages or Jocasta will have my head,” he huffs after Anakin’s hung up the phone.
Anakin grins at him like he’s going to attempt just that.
An hour later they’re—uncharacteristically—almost done with the task at hand and in a—more or less surprising—turn of events, it’s not the report that has Obi-Wan clinging to the last, gossamer-thin shred of his sanity.
Anakin is walking up and down in front of the couch table and gesturing as he talks, and Obi-Wan has found himself practically on eye-level with his ass. And for the first time since Obi-Wan has known Anakin, his ass is not covered by a plaid shirt or lost in shapeless, baggy pants.
The black dress pants fit Anakin like a glove, accentuating his waist and hugging his ass and thighs nicely. Obi-Wan definitely doesn’t think about how firm and biteable they look.
The sleeves of the dress shirt wrap neatly around his biceps and the fabric stretches across his shoulders whenever Anakin gestures wildly. It’s not tight by any measure but it’s perfectly fitted to the planes of his torso. Obi-Wan hasn’t thought of Anakin as lanky, really, but his usual wardrobe does a good job at hiding his frame, his build, and while Obi-Wan can’t say he’s surprised by Anakin’s actual physique, he’s…enticed. Inappropriately so.
It doesn’t help that the pale blue of the shirt brings out his eyes and the warm tones of his skin.
It’s impossible to look away from him.
So, really, it’s all of Anakin that has Obi-Wan keeping a white-knuckled grip on his composure.
“Okay—what?” Anakin snaps. He halts his pacing and crosses his arms over his chest defensively. Obi-Wan tries—and fails—not to notice how the sleeves stretch around the flex of his biceps.
Obi-Wan lifts his gaze from Anakin’s arms to meet his eyes. Smoothing his face into a mask of mild confusion, he says, “Pardon?”
Anakin looks at him like he’s calling bullshit. “You’ve been staring at me the way you stare at—at models or mockups or―or photoshoots that you don’t like,” he accuses, shoulders rising minisculely. The furrow between his eyebrows deepens with his frown but the line of his mouth looks―unhappy. “So, what is it? Do you not like the outfit?”
“Apologies,” Obi-Wan says. Anakin scowls and drops his gaze to stare at the low table. His arms remain crossed, however, in a manner that appears significantly like he’s trying to shield himself. Obi-Wan winces inwardly and tries again. “I apologize, Anakin. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.”
Anakin quirks a brow and shrugs. “You didn’t,” he says, full of false bravado, as he raises his eyes again without meeting Obi-Wan’s, instead letting his gaze drift to look outside the windows.
Obi-Wan takes in his profile: the barely perceptible downwards slant of the corner of his mouth, the tension in jaw, the slight furrow of his brows. Anakin rarely shows discomfort or soft vulnerability, though he’s open with his other—loud, bold, deep—emotions.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan implores softly. He waits until Anakin, with some reluctant hesitance, turns to meet his eyes. “I do like the outfit. I was looking―or staring, I suppose―because you look―”
“Like a fraud?” The tone of his words drips mocking self-deprecation.
Obi-Wan bites back a sharp rebuke. “Comfortable,” he finishes, ignoring Anakin’s mocking words. “Like you’re comfortable in your own skin. In a way you haven’t been before.”
Anakin blinks at him.
“It suits you,” Obi-Wan adds, and then, “Both the outfit and the look.”
Anakin dips his head but it barely hides the soft pink dusting his cheeks. When he looks back up, there’s a stubborn little tilt to his chin. “You should really work on your facial expressions,” he huffs half-heartedly.
“Apologies,” Obi-Wan says again, trying to stifle the grin tugging at his mouth. “Would it help if I told you that whatever it is you saw on my face was awe?”
Anakin’s arms drop from their defensive position across his chest as he turns to fully face Obi-Wan, the color on his cheeks turning into a rich, dusky pink. He looks so wonderfully flabbergasted and so beautifully pleased at the same time that Obi-Wan very nearly coos.
(Gods, he’s such a sucker.)
For a moment, Anakin dips his eyes down with a proud little smile. He shakes himself out of it when he looks up again. “Guess I have to pay more attention to your face, then,” he muses and his brows crinkle as his gaze sweeps over Obi-Wan.
“Oh?” Obi-Wan’s stomach, stupidly, flips.
Anakin’s shoulders rise lightly. “Well, I do have to know what you think, and I thought I was on top of your face already—” He stops abruptly and his flush extends all the way down his throat now, past his collarbones, and disappears under the fabric of the shirt. “Facial expressions! On top of your facial expressions! Because I’ve been watching you so closely—” Anakin stops again, face scrunching, before he presses the heels of his hands into his eyes for a brief moment.
He could probably illuminate the office all by himself if the lights weren’t already turned on.
Obi-Wan’s stomach has gone from a flip to somersaults even though he knows Anakin is talking about being observant and attentive. It’s one of the things Anakin had told him on Obi-Wan’s first day: that he needed to know what he was thinking so he could help Obi-Wan in the best possible way.
Obi-Wan’s stomach just hasn’t gotten the message yet.
Obi-Wan clears his throat lightly. “I appreciate your dedication…to my face,” he says, trying for teasing, and breathes a sigh of relief when his voice doesn’t come out strangled.
Anakin makes high-pitched noise. He’s still steadily glowing crimson but he rolls his eyes. “You suck,” he says, with feeling, but there’s a slight wheeze in his tone.
“Can’t say that I don’t.” It falls from his mouth before he even realizes what he’s saying, but his own mortification and Anakin’s utterly gobsmacked face drive regret through him like a lance. “I’m sorry, Anakin,” he quickly adds, just as heat rises into his own cheeks. “That was inappropriate. I apologize.”
“Okay.” Anakin’s voice comes out like a croak and he clears his throat once, twice. “Thanks. I mean—” He rubs his palms over his thighs. “Yeah. It’s—okay.”
There’s a beat of silence during which Obi-Wan feels pinpricks of anxiety prattling along his skin, regret and discomfort twisting in his gut.
A thought strikes him then, and suddenly, he needs to know. “Is this why you’re uncomfortable working here?”
“What?” Anakin seems adorably confused before his expression morphs into one of alarm. “No. I’m not—” He sucks in a breath. “I’m not uncomfortable or embarrassed working here.”
Obi-Wan frowns, unconvinced, but something within him unspools nevertheless. Anakin sits back down on the couch, half turned towards him, with one leg tucked under himself. He sighs and runs a hand through his messy curls, tangling his fingers in the soft-looking strands, and then scrubs it, almost furiously, over the back of his head for a second.
Regret lances through Obi-Wan once again. “I’m sorry, Anakin, you don’t have to answer it. It’s not my place to ask.”
“I like working here,” Anakin says, so fiercely that it freezes Obi-Wan to the spot. “I like working with you.”
Oh, what a siren song.
Anakin drags in a deep breath and releases it in a long exhale. “A lot of people make fun of people who work in fashion and lifestyle. It’s still seen as—I don’t know—silly and unimportant, and people who work in this industry are regarded as airheads or vain, unless it’s someone really high up the food chain, like you.”
Obi-Wan turns towards him and sinks his shoulder against the backrest as he watches Anakin rub the pads of his fingers over the seam of his pants.
“There are enough people who just don’t take you seriously when they clock you as someone working in fashion or when you dress…differently. When you use fashion as a—a way of being who you are.” Anakin lifts a shoulder as he frowns at his hands. “So, I just, um, say I don’t care about it.”
It, Obi-Wan realizes, means more than one thing.
“People make assumptions all day long and I can’t stop anyone from doing that but—well, I guess, I can. Not play into their hands at least,” Anakin continues. His Adam’s apple bobs when he swallows. “And besides, you know, there’s more pressing stuff like housing and food and since I don’t like sharing either, fashion is—it’s—just a non-issue by necessity. Also, I am firmly against fast fashion, as you can see.” He begins motioning down himself but aborts not even mid-way through. “Well, not right now but tomorrow for sure.”
Anakin sucks in a breath through his teeth and lets his shoulders slump before he looks up to meet Obi-Wan’s gaze. There’s something akin to a challenge in his eyes, defiant and defensive and ready to strike, as if he’s waiting for Obi-Wan to pass judgment on him. But that soft, vulnerable part of him remains exposed: a glimpse of a part of Anakin that’s so delicate he rarely allows anyone to see.
And he trusts Obi-Wan with it.
The weight of it is—immeasurable.
Obi-Wan hums. “I do have to say I am quite surprised that someone as brazen as you pays any mind to the opinions of others,” he points out with a wry smile, keeping his tone jovial. “May I advise finding new friends if yours are judging you for expressing yourself?”
“How have I ever not thought of that before?” Anakin scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Guess I am too brazen.”
Ah. Wrong approach, then.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan says, softening his voice, “you’re exceptional at what you do. I wouldn’t get half of the things done in a day if it weren’t for you covering my back. Do you know how many people have envied me for my ‘feisty assistant’?”
Anakin scowls at his hands. “How many?” He sounds as if he can’t help himself but ask.
Obi-Wan curls his lips in a smile. “I’ve lost track, to be quite honest, but I wager you do come up in conversation at least once a week.”
“Oh.” It’s a soft little thing, full of surprise and pride. Anakin snaps his eyes up at him and purses his lips like he’s trying to keep from smiling. He rubs a hand over his neck.
“I know your value, Anakin,” Obi-Wan adds, imbuing his voice with conviction, with affection. “And it’s got absolutely nothing to do with what you wear, but I see the way you carry yourself in these clothes. Don’t let the ignorant assumptions of strangers dictate how you express yourself. Don’t make yourself smaller for anyone.”
Clearing his throat, Anakin ducks his head. His lashes fan over his cheeks as he blinks, casting long shadows along his skin.
He’s beautiful when he’s brash but there’s something inexplicably gorgeous about him when he’s bashful and flustered, a kind of unwitting vulnerability that speeds Obi-Wan’s heartbeat up and makes him curl his hands into fists to keep from reaching out to wrap a hand around the back of Anakin’s head to guide into the crook of his own neck.
Anakin clears his throat again. He smiles, small and happy. Obi-Wan answers with his own smile.
“I mean,” Anakin starts as he sits up a bit straighter and sharpens his edges, “duh.” He sounds insufferably cocky and though the softness has disappeared from his face, there’s a faint blush on his cheeks. “You would crash and burn without me.”
Obi-Wan sighs, faux put-upon, and Anakin grins.
Later, on his way out of the office, he makes a note to call HR in the morning.

day two is here! check out these beautiful works!
day two twitter thread: here
01. Wants and Needs by anonymous
On a planet whose atmosphere is filled with a gas with... interesting side effects, Anakin and Obi-Wan are sent to take out a Separatist base. Fill for the Rough Sex square in the 2023 Obikin Bingo as well as a prompt claim for the Sub!Anakin Fest
02. Bare grace misery by anonymous
Anakin let out a pained sound. “I failed my men, I failed you, and now… and now this. Could you, Obi-Wan? Could you come from this humiliation?” His voice broke, and then he was weeping, hot tears streaming down his face even as he kept stroking himself, his sobs of shame intermingling with his whimpers of pleasure. The mixture was so unbelievably erotic Obi-Wan felt his head spin. Or: Anakin gets poisoned, and the antidote that saves his life has some uncomfortable side effects.
03. Serenity, Serenity by anonymous
After learning that the Separatists have gained the favor of a weapons manufacturer that has the power to overturn the Clone Wars, a freshly knighted Anakin and Master Obi-Wan must infiltrate the organization's inner circle and eliminate the partnership at an exclusive event posed as black market dealers. The problem is, the two of them have to act as a married couple, Anakin assuming the role of coy, submissive husband to a domineering and firm handed Obi-Wan. Between Anakin's not-so-subtle pining, Obi-Wan's suppressed emotions, and the fate of the Republic on the line, the two of them must confront their messy feelings for one another over a game of high-stakes, winner takes all sabacc.
04. Subakin and his Obi-Dom by anonymous
Anakin Skywalker was forever in denial. He could not admit, no sorry, would never accept he was a sub. No Never. He, the great and powerful Jedi Knight, was destined to be a dom, and he would not stop until his desires came to pass.
05. no fault of my own by anonymous
“You know you’re not supposed to like this,” Obi-Wan murmured, “and here you are, so wet for me and I’ve barely even touched you.” Anakin looked away, blinking back tears that threatened to well up in his eyes at his master’s disapproval, but he leaked more slick into his lap all the same. “I’m sorry, Master,” he quavered. “I can’t help it!”
06. En Garde, Prêt, Allez by anonymous
Anakin Skywalker is a highly skilled fencer, known for his fast pace and brutal attack style. Young and arrogant, he carries himself as a man who knows he's going to win - no matter the cost. Obi-Wan Kenobi is an equally talented fencer who has more titles and championships attached to his name than most could ever dream of, and who has the respect and admiration from everyone in the community. When the two are paired off against each other during the World Championships, Anakin is caught between wanting to prove himself and win the title, and not dethroning a man who has inspired him both on and off the piste. They say never meet your heroes - and certainly never kick their ass in front of a stadium full of their peers - but winning on the piste might bring more treasures and rewards to Anakin than he ever thought possible.
07. Who's Loving You by anonymous
Anakin Skywalker was the luckiest man alive. He had the relationship he had always desired. Well, almost.

Prompt: Mob/Gangster AU
Summary:
“We will never agree on this,” said Obi-Wan watching the stiff curve of Anakin’s back. He cut a striking figure, even when cradled in the dark he still called to Obi-Wan. It was hard to not look, to resist the ever tightening grip of the pull Anakin exercised on him.
“I don’t need you to agree with me, Obi-Wan. I just need you to stop fighting me.”
Mob boss Anakin Skywalker is one of the youngest gang leaders to rise to power in recent history. DCI Obi-Wan Kenobi is tasked with bringing this rising threat to justice. The only problem is Obi-Wan and Anakin have history, and the Detective in question finds himself walking on a tightrope of morality. After all the heart wants what it wants.

Obikin Bingo Master Post
Tumblr media
@obikin-events
Accidentally Cursed: Blood Cursed - In one universe, after being bitten by Echo, Anakin falls to the vampire side instead of joining Sidious. After Order 66, when on a mission with Obi-Wan, an injured Anakin is forced to confront his desire to turn his former master.
Babysitter AU: Revenge of the Tooka - In one universe, Anakin has a twin sister, Aniya. In one universe, the twins are freed from slavery and taken to become Jedi. In one universe, Qui-Gon trains Aniya while Obi-Wan trains Anakin.
Body Swap: Reversal of Time - It was an ordinary mission... until it wasn't. Anakin finds himself in a parallel universe where everything is the same... except everyone he knows are Sith. And in another time, in Anakin's time, a Sith-raised Anakin opens his eyes to a world of Jedi.
Bonfire: Until the Day I Die - "Don't try it!" Except Anakin doesn't listen to Obi-Wan's warning because he knows better. He knows that he'll make it. And he does, except the consequences are more than he can deal with. Is it truly victory if he's lost... what matters most, what always mattered most, even if he was too blind to see it?
Bounty Hunter AU: Scars Collected - In one universe, the Jedi manage to complete their coup before the worst of Order 66 can unfold. In one universe, the Council takes control of the clones and seizes control of the Republic. Put through a farce of a trial, Anakin is, of course, sentenced to be executed for the little that he did against the Jedi that night. But his family isn't ready to let him go.
Confused Identities: Emperor - Escaping Daiyu before the Inquisitor catches up, Obi-Wan is captured by a strange Sith on Mapuzo, who has something against him, for some inexplicable reason. But this is a Sith, so does he need a reason? Except then, Obi-Wan finds himself newly-crowned Emperor, with the Sith vowing to enforce his will on the galaxy. And why does something about the Sith seem so familiar
Cuddling: Disintegration - Anakin and Ahsoka are on Kaller with the 501st when the clones unexpectedly open fire on them with stunbolts. They escape, barely, and discover that, all across the galaxy, the clones turned on the Jedi and killed them. Now, a victorious Dooku is the new Emperor. It’s at the Temple that Anakin discovers a horrible truth. Obi-Wan has Fallen. And he has no idea why.
Cursed: Smoke and Debris - Shortly after Anakin's Knighting, a mission to Jabi'im goes badly, leaving Obi-Wan dead. Or so the Jedi think. Anakin, however, refuses to accept that his master is gone. He will find Obi-Wan and bring him home, no matter what it takes.
Domestic: Chains of Yesterday - Obi-Wan's never had personal experiences with slavery before, and it makes it hard to understand why Anakin acts the way he does sometimes. Or, the five times Obi-Wan tries to deal with Anakin's traumas from having been a slave, and the one time he actually starts to understand.
Falling Asleep On Their Lap: Tuk'ata Trouble - When on Daiyu to rescue Leia, Obi-Wan runs into a Sith hound, who seems strangely familiar. Which makes no sense because he's never seen one before. At first, he thinks the dog belongs to the Inquisitors, but now, it's determined to follow him and Leia around everywhere. He's beginning to think this may not be just a Tuk'ata.
FREE DAY: Breathing Ashes - Shot down on Ryloth by rebels, Vader and Sidious quickly discover a far more serious threat than the other insurgents: a Fallen Obi-Wan, determined to reclaim Vader as his apprentice, no matter what the cost. NOT VADERWAN
Fireworks: Fireworks - It's only been weeks since he became a Jedi, and Anakin is still struggling with the new environment and getting to know Obi-Wan. On the Coruscanti New Year, Anakin sees a fireworks display which sends him spiraling into a panic attack. It leads to a misunderstanding between him and Obi-Wan, but at least this once they have someone to help them communicate.
Gladiator AU: Eyes of the Dragon - Sold from one owner to the next after his dragon abilities are discovered, Anakin finally ends up with Obi-Wan as his... handler. Except, Obi-Wan isn't a slaver like all the others, and he's also far nicer. And Anakin can do little to free the young Togruta Jedi, Ahsoka, who was recently sold into slavery, no matter how hard he tries. The most he can do is help her survive.
Guardian Angel: Favorless - Found and raised by Sidious, Anakin is on Naboo when the Jedi find him. Given an offer to help the Jedi against a rising threat greater than both the Jedi and Sith, Anakin reluctantly accepts. He's left in Obi-Wan's custody, and the two have to move past their differences to work together. Except, more and more Anakin begins to question if being a Sith is what he truly wants.
Heartfelt Confessions: The Blood Awakens - Vader expected to lose the duel to Obi-Wan on Jabi'im, but he didn't quite expect Obi-Wan to jump and... bite him? Because apparently, his former master is now a vampire, and he has every intention of taking Vader with him as his new fledgling.
Interrupted Declaration of Love: This Ends Today - In which the Force gives a certain Jedi Master what he said he wanted, to see if he really liked it. OWK series AU; definitely not a fix it
Kidnapped: Nebulous - Being kidnapped by the Sith apprentice who killed Qui-Gon is the last thing Anakin expected to happen while on his first mission with his new Jedi master, Maul. Obi-Wan is... scary. And dark, which duh, he's a Sith. But Anakin is determined to escape him and find his way back to the Jedi, no matter the cost. It's never quite that easy.
Lying: What You Wanted To See - At the end of their duel on Mustafar, one moment Anakin had been certain Obi-Wan was able to leave him, but suddenly, he's acting like someone else entirely. Because apparently, he... time traveled, from after both their deaths. For Obi-Wan, the worst day of their lives was decades ago, but for Anakin it just happened, and it's not that easy to let go of it.
Pen Pal AU: Ben-Ekkreth-Chippie - Shortly after the formation of the Empire, Vader, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan all end up chatting on the holonet with each other, entirely unaware of their former identities. They didn't intend to become so close to each other, but it happens anyway. And then, their paths start leading back together again.
Pillow Fight: Attack of the Toxin - In one universe, Anakin has a twin sister, Aniya. In one universe, the twins are freed from slavery and taken to become Jedi. In one universe, Qui-Gon trains Aniya while Obi-Wan trains Anakin.
Rescue Mission: See the Moon - Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan are awakened one morning to a massive disturbance in the Force. They quickly discover the disturbance centers around Coruscant's moon, which suddenly appears to be not only alive, but it also has the ability to... possess people? And the only way to avoid that is to avoid looking at the moon at all, which becomes increasingly difficult.
Telepathy AU: My Own Way Home - Ten years after the Empire formed, Vader, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka start sharing dreams. They can find no way to stop it, but do they really want to? Especially not after Ahsoka realizes who Vader is after long thinking Anakin dead, Obi-Wan begins to accept that there may be more to Vader than the Sith he's become now, and Vader finally has the chance at being with his family again.
Set In A Different Time Period: The Land Which Bears Your Footprints - Found by Sidious, Rey is raised on Exegol as a Sith. While struggling with recurring dreams of her past life as Anakin, she's given her first mission - to infiltrate and destroy Luke's New Jedi Order.
Sleepy Confessions: Multiples - Obi-Wan in ROTS - Anakin and Obi-Wan have just landed aboard the Invisible Hand to rescue Chancellor Palpatine when suddenly, four other versions of Obi-Wan appear with them. One Obi-Wan is hard enough sometimes, but five? That is a whole other story. It doesn't help that they're not terribly fond of each other... or that the eldest are hiding things about the future.
Whump: Fading - After leaving Vader a second time, Obi-Wan is given, and takes, the chance to travel to the past to fix his mistakes. He hopes it will be easy. It's not. As the galaxy around him spirals out of control a second time, Obi-Wan captures a newly Fallen Darth Vader and runs away with him. Even if he can't save Anakin, at least he can stop Vader from terrorizing the galaxy again.
