Anyone else think in season 4 that a part Sam's insistence on being strong enough to handle himself was a result him being so affected by Dean's death?

Because Dean has always been the protector, always wanted to protect his little brother to the point where he'd even sell his own soul for Sam. And when Dean was killed as a result of trading his soul for Sam...in Sam's head -> Dean protecting Sam = Dean getting hurt/killed.

So Sam wants to be the protector now, having been unable to save Dean before, and wanting to protect him now. The demon blood gives him that ability, that power, to protect.

There's a lot more to Sam's motivations and actions throughout season 4 but it's this small 'what-if' that really dug into my brain.

I really love Sam as a character, and I love how the show really does portray both brothers really caring for each other to extreme extents.

casually adopts iron lord felwinter as my own oc

he drives me INSANE i fucking love him sm. here are some design notes. felwinter is often described as not being as expressive as other exos. something about not having the same "modifications" (i don't have the exact lore excerpt but it goes something like that) so it seems like he doesn't have the same plates that most exos do to emote. so a static faceplate seemed like a solid bet. i use a lot of similar shapes in his face that I do for rasputin's exo frame, especially around the jaw area, and the same shade of red in the eyes and mouth. he is, however, described as having a "black skull", so his frame is black instead of white. i think it's an interesting contrast; if one were to look at both side by side, they are obviously associated with one another, but also opposites. the static faceplate and dark color palette also adds to felwinter's cynical and impassive demeanor. (iirc, he is directly described as cynical) a dark appearance suits such a personality in my opinion. i mean, he took over a whole mountain, he's described as being less inclined to show mercy. surely he's a bit more intimidating than the average fellow.

anyway, i hope y'all enjoy. i've been oc-ifying him for a while now but was kind of nervous to share it considering how relatively new i am to this fandom, and how little i know about the game and much of its lore. still finicking with him, of course, but i've been enjoying the journey.

i hate the idea that annie is a weak person just because of her trauma and mental health issues. i would love to see everyone stop completely infantilizing her just based on her reaction to trauma.

yes, she is vulnerable and clearly deeply impacted by everything but that doesn’t mean she was always just a weak little girl. she still could have volunteered. she still could have chosen to go to the games.

yes, losing her most significant support system after everything was another layer of deep trauma. that doesn’t mean she couldn’t have still found joy in her life afterwards.

people can have significant mental health issues and still be capable people. people can have significant mental health issues and still have lives worth living.

adults with significant mental health issues are still adults and shouldn’t be reduced to their trauma and pain.
