Yes, Death is still alive and kicking, and I am as well! 💀

I know this is rather unexpected, especially after the lack of any updates this last year, but I'm back and I owe you all an apology.

Life kicked me in the butt while mocking me that I should still be grateful to live another day. Shit happened and I'm not proud of how I acted. I took a step back from the Abyssal to heal, but I neglected my lovely readers while doing so. I'm not one to openly mope, but I received a lot of concerned asks and I thank every single one of you for still caring about my sorry behind 😊

Now, let's focus on the good part of this whole mess. I've got some news!!

Firstly, The Abyssal went through a considerable rewrite, nothing major but a few passages were added and other pieces were slightly changed. You guys will notice the difference, I hope.

Sol is now gender selectable! Now only Wulfric is gender-locked, while the rest of the ROs are all gender-selectable;

Rescue—adopt?—a little kid;

Two interludes were added.

Choose to wear a mask or a veil, and pick between many designs of masks for your Death to wear;

Second part of Chapter 2 is focused on world-building, lore, and Éoin's life as a mortician.

Secondly, a list of small things that I added:

Around 15k words were added to chapter one and 12k to chapter two. The demo now has a total of 100k words;

Now the choices that will unlock the madness and fury domain are labeled.

Added time and location to each memory jump to better situate the reader.

Make sure to check the show stats option! I'll be adding details about the characters and the world of Hylaria there with every update.

Hello! Not an ask, just wanted to say I adore your content; you're so skilled. I came across your art first, and the drama of even the smallest panel; I'd been eyeing JoDT & sequels for awhile because it was a WIP, but I caved and binged bks1-4 in about three days. I reread the "Eat your heart out Pureblood society" scene at least once a day, thank you for that, superb execution. I also really liked, in the first book, the interactions between Malfoy & Harry, and the very gradual "well, he's our friend now." The development of their friendship has done a great job of re-defining the characters and their relationships. The series feels like its own thing, and the fact that Ginny never even had the diary in book 2 only cemented that. I've really appreciated the deviation from Draco-the-tortured-hero/Draco-making-amends (which I also love to read). Horrors of the Heir was a great twist and really put the whole series in another tier, tbh. CoS was like, my least favorite of the series as a kid (alongside GoF, which has grown on me as I read fanfic) and your version of bk 2 easily established the micro-obsession of your series for me. Also, Crabbe & Goyle?? "They're actually really good friends"?? "Just to see if we feel anything"?? Adorable. Obsessed.

tldr; Your rewrite of the series is incredibly unique, and I admire how you've really taken the series and made it something completely fun and new and modern 💜💜💜

I adored writing the "Eat Your Heart Out" scene. People tend to forget that Draco Malfoy is canonically *very* dramatic when he wants to be. Yes, he can be sulky and scheming, but he also shouts taunts across the courtyard, and puts on scenes to make older students laugh at Harry’s expense, even going so far as to dress up as a Dementor to make his "rival" lose in Quidditch.

The Horror of the Heir was such an experience for me as the author, because CoS is my favourite book from the series (weird, ik) and looking back, I sort of realise I could’ve squeezed in so much more. But last May, 45k was a HUGE amount of words for me! And now I'm churning out 100k like nobody's business 💀

✨️Growth✨️

And speaking of growth, the reason I had Draco take Tom Riddle’s diary was purely because of growth. It would've taken him far longer to change as a person if he hadn't taken Ginny's place. A pivotal character development moment, as he reflects on his upbringing etc...

Crabbe and Goyle generally get overlooked in the fandom, and it really bugs me. Vince dies canonically, yes, but I absolutely love it when fic writers incorporate Greg as an actual character in post-war fics, and acknowledge that Vince was Draco’s friend.

It's always Blaise, Pansy, and Theo because they're intelligent and societies definition of "attractive." I mean, each to their own of course, but I could write an entire essay on the injustice I feel for Crabbe and Goyle!

And then, of course, the development of Draco’s relationship with the Golden Trio, specifically Harry. Just -- Ugh-- these silly kids make me so unhinged!😂

It wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows to begin with. Of course it wouldn't. It's a rocky start, with bumps along the way (and more big bumps to come), but I really do love the way I have progressed their relationship, and I'm not even gonna be humble about it! I really do love my own fic!!!

All this to say, thank you so much!!! I realise fix-its are a very popular type of fic to write, but I really do try to keep it as fresh and unique as possible, so the fact that I really am able to give my readers an experience means the world to me💖

its kind of a 50/50 since bro barely has screen time, yet i see his character oftentimes being portrayed as the class asshole

i think it’s clear that him and his friends commit tomfoolery and are overall jerks but to think that he’s the more sensible, level-headed guy makes a lot of sense to me—kinda similar to charlie in a way

like he knows limits and when to not push them even if he doesn’t come off that way. all bro does is chill in class and stare off into the windows daydreaming (as shown in the whole ripping out the poetry intro scene). bro doesn’t wanna be there. he’s just chilling and honestly same💀

• spencer’s actual treatment in the movie

ik we love this man, and our headcanons (or at least what i’ve seen and my own for the most part) say that people treat him well but low key everyone be on his shit

like it brings up the question of whether or not this is considered bullying cause any scene i see he’s either blatantly shoved around or even the guys around him purposely steal his medicine and pass it around so he can’t have it (including stick participating in this)-

like i think there’s some limits to being a jerk and idk how spencer really feels throughout the movie cuz he’s a background character :////

like low key they’re just used as experiments for the cave (implied by charlie in a deleted scene that wasn’t recovered although i think this part is in the original script as well if i remember correctly)

although he brings them back a second time in a deleted scene where they’re all dancing around outside of the cave on the night of the play only for him to make out with one of them in another deleted scene that wasn’t recovered… (( this was revealed in an old interview on someone working behind the scenes btw ))

so like i kinda feel bad for them. like y’all just there for show but i wish you had more lines and other purposes besides possibly not passing a bechdel test ://////

^ lowkey this same concept is kinda seen with chris’s character too. like all she’s there for is a romantic interest for knox. like cmon now she’s one of the main female characters and THIS is what she gets. i wanna know more about my girl chris!!!!

and i kind of understand why it’s set up this way since y’know it’s an all male boarding school in the 1950s—how do you fit female characters in and how are they viewed? it’s not the greatest setup of all time

Like most people, Taejin has his set of guilty pleasures. One that immediately came to me is that he loves trash tv. I mean like the over-produced melodramatic dramas that come on in the dead of night. He LOVES that shit💀💀💀

Tbh, I can make a whole list of hygiene Headcanons for this man just cuz I know he smells good, but Imma keep it short🥴:

Taejin is a FIRM believer in the power that good grooming holds. He takes extra extra care of his hair, using high-quality (and prolly overpriced) products. And he always makes it to his regularly scheduled hair appointments to keep the color on point.

I’m pretty sure he’s a bottle blonde, but he's so proud of that so there’s no point in making jokes about it.

Buuuut if you really wanna get on his nerves, just pretend like you can see his roots. That would drive him up a wall😵

For someone who lives in South Korea, Taejin is not a huge fan of foods that have an ass load of garlic in them. He knows that his diet has an impact on his body odor so he has to limit his garlic intake.

Taejin runs hot (I mean just look at him🥵)

like he’s just one big space heater so he prefers - no he NEEDS to sleep with a fan going. Like, that bitch is up high and there are fuckin gale force winds in the room and he’s KNOCKED OUT like *watch dis*

Ya’ll, when I tell you that Jihan is sick of people asking about his eyes - I mean he is SICK of it.

Like 2 or 3 questions about his eyes are manageable, but after the 3rd time, he’s ready to go like the convo gets cut short.

This man is so unaware of how jarring his accent and dialect are. Like, if it's ever brought up when he’s in Seoul, he’ll be so confused “II’m speaking so normally tho💀” (As a Southerner, this is my life)

Despite what his hair looks like, Jihan doesn’t actually style his hair much if not at all. He has a perfect Shake-N-Go growing from his scalp (Lucky bastard lolol)

Oh and the same thing with his eyebrows (Tbh, none of these men do their eyebrows prolly)

He’s a sucker for soup. Soup of all kinds, but meaty soups with light broths are what does him in for real. Example: Dak Gomtang

I feel like even though he’s young, Jihan watches the news (and by extension all TV) like an old man. I mean this exact picture *dis*

I think he gets it from Jibeom, who gets it from Jichang, who prolly got it from Bakgu. They all do it and none of them acknowledge it🤣

Oh and the weather channel is his favorite (cuz I said so lol)

Finally was able to expand upon an idea cooking in my mind for a good bit which was a kinda battle mask (Basically whenever conflict is engaged their “human” mouth would be covered with this extravagant layer o’ metal to protect em!)

Practical considering they’re mostly made up of metal?

Absolutely not

Anyways thats literally the whole wip.

Ive redrawn that same pose like five million times on different canvases with every attempt so ive made like zero progress 💀

But now that I have your attention I wanted to expand on Mace’s lore cuz I feel like it and I think i promised to make a post about it

So.

I dont know about any of you you guys-

I personally feel like Darcy the core and Alderitch coulda be so much cooler!

Like dont get me wrong. I like Darcy design wise! They’ve literally been living in my head rent free ever since their first teaser! (It’s a blessing and a curse please send help hshshHahabbfnsuaha)

But I personally feel like plot wise they were kinda lacking :(

And the idea of a bucha a n c i e n t newts consciousnesses invading a 13/14 year old kids mind forcefully is kinda…gross.

So.

I was brainstorming and came up with this:

When the core was first teased. Back in the ye olde days in the pre True colors when the fandom called it the Night-

Im not the only one that thought it was some sorta god right?

A giant mass of orange eyes that a powerful King that ruled for thousands of years kneels down to and calls “Master?”

Idk about you but that gives off omnipotent eldritch horror vibes to me.

So I basically took that concept and expanded upon that and incorporated bits of the lore that Andrias dropped about his kind.

Specifically about how he said that his kind were conquerers.

Why?

Sure. It could purely be a generational trauma thing.

His father did it. His father’s father did it. And his father’s father’s father did it as well.

That could be the end of it.

No one really knows why they conquer and enslave races other than “tradition.”

Maybe Andrias only mentions it all is so he can bask in his triumph. To feel a deluded sense of pride in his lineage for finally being able to continue the work of his forefathers after thousands of years of resentment and regret planted in his mind by his own father that twisted and corrupted his perception on reality.

Maybe Matt just thought those sequences up on the spot and they sorta made sense.

Theres alotta maybes and to my knowledge thats about the extent of it

But im not satisfied with that

So I took that concept. The conquering inter dimensional newts and elevated it.

The core was never a series of Newtopia’s “greatest minds.”

It was always an omnipotent being.

An all seeing all knowing all powerful elderitch horror that is always hungry.

Thats why Andrias’ ancestors invaded other worlds!

Whether it was out of fear or necessity or a deal made with the devil

The reason they invaded is because the core is always hungry. And it needed to feed. So they sacrificed whole worlds to the core just to satiate its ravenous appetite.

And it would explain why in the last season Amphibia was being siphoned for all its resources

Not only was it for the factories, the frobo army, and the mind control devices

It was to stave off the cores hunger until the invasion of earth could surpass

And I didnt forget about all those newts that died and had their brain transferred to the core originally oh nonono

They still sacrificed themselves. But not to join the core or become anything greater. Despite what they believed or what they were promised by the core, Alderitch and all those newts who made up the canon core were nothing more than willing sacrifices to the cores endless hunger. They realistically died for nothing.

So. With this concept/au/rewrite/whatever solves alot of the inconsistencies in the plot and also gets rid of the gross old newts in 13 year olds brain plot

Lemme know what you think of this concept! Im open to criticism and any ideas anyone is willing to share and will do my best to respond to em!

It absolutely kills me that Deku is never shown thinking about the river scene, he thinks they just began naturally drifting apart when he didn’t get a quirk, but for Kacchan it was this whole story of betrayal & never ending mockery to /him/ 💀💀💀

Like that’s the thing about the bullying that gets me and the antis always seem to miss, Kacchan legit thought the hate was mutual and that Deku was constantly and consciously making underhanded slights at him for the last 10 years

Bk legit lost sense of reality at 5 and didn’t clock back in until 15

5yo him couldn’t tolerate the idea that he may not always be the best at things, kindness/empathy is a strength(one he struggles with), & that a helping hand is not something you necessarily have to need or deserve to accept

And that intolerance was reinforced over and over again by the continued praise and lack of constructive criticism from the adults around him, the envy & admiration his peers held for him, and from the ridged criticism of his parents

But Deku challenged all of that everyday by merely existing. Empathy & kindness come as easily to him as breathing, they’re obvious strengths coming from him.

His ability to put himself in another’s shoes strengthened his ability to think outside the box, come up with clever ideas, and desire to help others at any cost to himself

Remember Deku knew full what he was going up against with the sludge villain

He’d already barely survived an attack from them, received no medical attention for it, went jetting over skyscrapers, had his dreams crushed by his idol after a lifetime of having them mocked

And his feet still managed to not just move but doge 6 pros, then he came up with a successful plan of attack to hit a moving target

Because unrecognized by everyone but Kacchan, Deku was trying to be a hero, it wasn’t just a wild dream, he had made efforts

But what was passive unintentional challenges on Dekus part were taken by Kacchan as direct threats to his greatness, which is just absolutely wild, love that for him

Kacchan is the drama, he is the problem, but he manages to do something very few people ever accomplish, he gains self awareness!!

Do y’all realize how rare that is?? So many people will let their capacity to hold onto multiple complex thoughts pass through their fingers and never have it fully develop

As we enter our teen years we gain the ability to simultaneously hold a focus on the future, workshop our personal goals, and questions the beliefs and behaviors of the adults around us in full nuanced ways for the first time

But many take the path of least resistance and don’t stretch their minds and push the boundaries of those new skills to workshop their position in those systems

And when we don’t that skill stagnates & grows weaker with time, it takes a lot of intellectual prowess to conceptualize all those moving pieces

You have your actions, theirs, your beliefs, what you’re able to gather as their beliefs, the nuances of societies beliefs and how they influence you and them, and circumstances in and out of y’all’s control

Then you have to add all that up, walk it back from their point of view, and then see if adds up the same

Kacchan was 15, spent 10 of them totally delusional, and still managed to rewrite his whole narrative in a years time

I know grown as adults in the mental health field who struggle to do that on a much smaller scale

Disclaimer: this isn’t an excuse for Kacchan’s previous behavior being unkind and violent is still not okay, I just find it very interesting and impressive how his development works and the added nuances about how he thought him & Deku were on similar pages but where actually light years apart

Roman isn’t as active as Mickey since he’s usually too busy with his actual job and doesn’t quite have the same zeal for it. For the most part, he only targets people he knows and can’t stand or who get in his way somehow.

When you start dating them, he becomes overly cautious. He doesn’t want you to know. He doesn’t even want you to suspect. He’s got a certain image he wants to maintain, especially when it comes to dealing with you.

Mickey doesn’t care too much in the beginning. He figures if you find out and it becomes a problem, he can just take you out in the non-date way (he’s literally crazy, what do you expect?💀)

When he gets more attached to you, he sort of agrees with Roman’s approach. He doesn’t want to have to get rid of you, and keeping you with them would be much easier and more pleasant if you’re staying willingly.🙃

No matter how careful they are, though, you notice things, such as Mickey having small injuries he just shrugs off or makes weird excuses for. "A rogue tree got in my way while filming." A few times, he claims Roman gave them to him. "Don’t let the glasses fool you; It’s a trick. He’s a lot freakier than he lets on." *wink wink*. And news reports about people you know who had worked with Roman, or at least worked at the same studio, going "missing" from time to time.

Questioning Roman too much will lead to him ranting about anything to divert the conversation. "No one’s gone missing from there since the 70's. They’re just trying to ruin the studio’s reputation. You know how many movies they’ve almost shut down this year alone? It’s insane. I’ve got the producers breathing down my neck about everything. I can barely get a music video done without 50 rewrites! Next, The National Enquirer's gonna put out a story about alien abductions happening on set. Those people left because they just couldn’t hack it! Hollywood’s a tough place, y/n. It’s not made for everyone."

Even when you find out the truth and confront him with it, he denies it heatedly. "I’m not some sort of demented killer! The police couldn’t prove—"until you assure him you don’t care. He changes his tone instantly. "You’re okay with this?"

Mickey’s ready to throw a party. They won’t have to sneak around anymore, and maybe now he could talk you into having a different kind of fun in the costumes.

He’s absolutely delighted that you’re not only cool with it but also want to help him.

You start out small (fake bait to lure victims) and then graduate to calls until Roman’s convinced you’re ready to take on a more active role. Mickey jokes that you’ll have to go through the casting couch (he’s only half joking).

Roman lets you use his voice changer, but only very rarely. He keeps it well hidden, and you’ll never find the real one unless he hands it to you personally. You’ll have to make due with the regular model.

You and Mickey still have fun bothering him and just about everyone else with the regular one, though. That phone bill is too damn high.

They have a bunch of extra costumes from Stab 3, so you eventually get your own.

Mickey has a whole stash of weapons, and he’s impressed that you know most of them. He lets you take anything you want when you go out.

Roman’s still not too keen on you joining in on this, though. He masks his concern with irritation, but he really does worry about Mickey sometimes, and now he’s going to be worrying about both of you.

He gets more involved than he’d like to because he wants to keep an eye on you. Plus, he’s a control freak, and he thinks the excuse of watching out for you gives him a free pass to be bossy.

Killing makes them both a bit feral; normally Mickey embraces it and Roman suppresses it. Your presence tips their delicate balance off kilter.

Then, you find out firsthand that some of Mickey’s salacious stories about the "injuries" Roman gave him weren’t as exaggerated as you thought.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always always always, but I have a horrible habit of getting behind on replying to them - usually because I'm busy when I get a comment and consistently forget to come back... Then suddenly there's a ton of them. This is a reminder to sit down and tackle my neglected comments, so thanks, thing.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ordinary Gifts for sure.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I meannnn, all of my fics have at least mostly happy endings, as I'm a baby. But I'd probably say Bloodstream - just considering the odds that have to be overcome to get there.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Never had until my goddamn Martha fic. But thankfully, the hate was on the latter pairing, not my writing. That's the only solace I took from that (along with some badass readers who defended me to a handful of lunatics).

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I write all of the smut! Lengthy, graphic, emotional 'first time' scenes, as well as all subsequent smut. I have a very, very difficult time skipping over sex (have only done it once to date, and intend to write a separate fic to cover the smut I skipped 💀) and will never skip the first time.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

No, never have.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope, thank god.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Somebody translated Bloodstream into Russian, which was fucking cool.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I'm doing it right now with @bronzeagepizzeria and my excitement knows no bounds.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Had an idea for a fic inspired by To Have and Not Hold by mtemplar, but have never opened the lil WIP again, and that was over a year ago.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Smut?

Also, not sure if this counts - but I'm a perfectionist about my writing. I'm constantly, obsessively rereading, which I do both as I go and when everything is finished. Making alterations, amending this or that, punching up, rewriting/removing whole scenes etc... But I still, of course, make some mistakes here and there.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I write way too goddamn much. Way too much positive reinforcement in the comments of my first fic gave me a weird perma-complex where I don't even feel like a chapter is complete until it's around 10k, which is insane. Somebody save me. This is a serious problem.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I personally don't do it - I'd rather allude to it. For example, from my fic Exposure, since I guess I'm just going all in with this goddamn questionnaire:

He murmurs something soft, something gorgeous, but Rose has got no idea what it is— only that it's far too structured to be sleepy gibberish. There's an almost-Italian-but-also-sort-of-Arabic resonance to it, yet entirely unique; something she can't even pretend to know how to accurately describe.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The first actual fic I ever wrote was for the Russian girl group t.A.T.u in either 2003 or 2004, but I wrote it at school during 'reading time' in Language Arts. It never saw the light of day anywhere.

The first proper fic I actually wrote, finished, and posted completely was for my first feral fixation ship, Inu/Kag (Inuyasha) back in 2005.

👀 Do I have any words/phrases I use habitually?

Probably, but I can't remember. 😓 I think I use 'Well,' quite a bit, along with other short phrases to add a sort of casual/musing flavor to the inner dialogue. I know there's some sort of phrase that I'll cap a sentence off with, but I really don't know which fic to skim through to confirm that. 😅 Sorry, my laziness has yet to budge. 🥴

📌 If all your fics/WIPs fell off a ship and were drowning (go with it), and you could only save one, which would it be?

I think it'd have to be Powerless. I could probably rewrite all the others to some extent. They wouldn't be perfect 1-to-1 replicas or anything, but they'd still retain the same spirit. Powerless, however, was written during pure creative possession. Plus, that mofo is like 39k overall or more? I forget. But that in of itself would be hard to replicate and the only reason why I took it down was due to uninformed advice. That I was worried about shipbaiting my readers because I didn't know when Hinata was going to show up, so I just took it down like that was going to be okay. 🤦‍♀️ As if I could repost it in a matter of weeks and nothing would be lost. Lesigh. I'm still totally fond of it. There are some changes I want to make when I work on the rest of the re-upload, but Naruto's childhood in the first chapter was my favorite thing to write and I could never replicate the same feelings, I don't think. Even if I listen to the playlist I made for it. It'd help but never be the same.

🖊 What is the most recent line you've written?

I haven't written anything new yet since my Witchcraft AU. 😅 I wish. Yoga AU is top of my list. I think it's gonna be really long, but I'm looking forward to it. I feel like I have a better understanding of oneshots now. Hmmm, y'know what? I had this pre-written in my head, so let's just go with this (and I'll most likely edit in the final draft anyways):

"He was exactly like a sunflower. Tall and lanky, his hair sticking out in every direction like radial petals. She's never seen a shade as cheerful as his. It contrasted so sharply against the consternation darkening his face. As she drew closer, she noticed two things: The erratic bouncing of his right leg. His right hand cupped over his mouth, with forefinger and middle finger parted as if something was meant to be there. A pantomime of a bad habit."

Or maybe I don't have to edit this. This turned out pretty good. 🤔

have you ever considered doing a word count challenge where you intentionally set a word limit. it can force you to become much sharper because you cant rely on more words to explain certain elements. it can be a pretty fun challenge but also frustrating because you end up spending more time editing than writing because you might write a whole long thing and have a lot of ideas and then are forced to rewrite and condense it

Ooh that's a good idea for a future project!! I have a couple times had to meet a word limit for collabs & a zine, and I am regularly capped by specific formats we use for technical writing at work, and I think those are fun challenges!!

I think for me right now the biggest challenge lays in determining what each project needs most from me!! I am capable of firing off fun quick one shots, but I feel like sometimes a fic needs more?? I especially struggle with identifying the appropriate amount of relationship development between Reader & her love interest, because that is the part of fic I find most compelling!! What if I am doing too little?? What if I am doing too much??

This collab fic is especially complicated by the fact that I am pantsing it where I always otherwise plan out my fics lol. So the new scenes and ideas getting incorporated as I go I think are inflating the expected word count, RIP!! 💀

Just a small ramble about Cass, Wallpaper and my personal rewriting of hpma story so don't mind me. Might delete later. It's all my personal opinion tho so feel free to disagree with me.

As much as I defend Cassandra a lot (I'm afraid people from the server can confirm that) I would be lying if I said I can defend her bullying. Nothing against bully characters, I have a tendency to enjoy them (which is kinda weird given how I was bullied myself literally all my life and everywhere I go 💀) I genuinely don't like that part of Cassandra's character, I like her so much more outside the main story, like, don't get me started on how much I believe Y3 did her absolutely dirty and somewhat mischaracterized her (in my opinion that is) for sake of antagonizing her. And especially as someone who, unfortunately, happens to enjoy DanCass a lot, I do feel pretty iffy about that part of their canon dynamic.

I feel like Cass, as a bully, specifically in Y3, feels a bit overpowered. I understand why she wasn't punished in Y1, bc like, she almost got killed, but in Y3? I genuinely believe she'd work a lot better as a rival character, someone on equal grounds with the main cast, who just messes with us rather than bully, because her being a bully who gets away with pretty much everything creates a very unhealthy power dynamic and I'm not really a fan of that, especially given how it's clear our mc and Cassandra are friends or just enjoy each other's company enough, somewhat.

Which is kinda how I personally rewrote her dynamic with the cast and specifically Daniel: a rival character, who sometimes gets along with the main cast but often messes with them because she sees them as competition (which is how I feel they're portrayed in sidequests, Cass rarely, if ever, bullies the main gang, she's just mean to them or sometimes even actually kinda nice, in her own way, these sidequests being the main reason I love her sm). Yet because of her arrogance, she still judges people based on their family background, because for her, it's safe to assume you're going to be similar to those who raises you. And she just kinda takes things a bit too far in Y3 and the moment Daniel attacks her and McGonagall gives her a speech she's like "... Oh shit." and the realization that she really crossed the line for some petty rivalry hits her like a truck, which would initiate the whole redemption arc of hers.

But it's just my rewrite ig hehe
