tl,dr: I am now once again very autistic about the how to train your dragon books and really need someone to talk about them with. If you are one of my mutuals and likes these books, or even if you aren’t one of them and feel like it, please message me lol.

OMG so my sister was home from college recently. last night we were talking and the conversation got to the how to train your Dragon books. My sister is going to be running a kids on bikes (or kids on dragons lol) style rpg campaign that takes place during the early reign of Grimbeard the Ghastly.

For context, I hadn’t been interested in/thought about these books in years. When we started talking about this, It’s like a switch flipped in my brain. The HTTYD books were simultaneously my and my sister’s special interest for a large chunk of our childhood. It’s like the special interest was lying dormant in my brain, waiting to be reactivated.

Now I’m rereading all of the books in order. I’m listening to the audiobook versions that are narrated by David Tennant with the orchestral composition. I just got to the first chapter, and I started happy stiming so much ahkgakdjalksgdf

if you like these books, and I know there’s a fandom out there, please please please message me or something. I really need someone to hyperfixate with. Please do keep in mind that I haven’t read these books in years though, and am in the process of rereading them, so I might not fully remember some things.

Also, if this autism continues at the rate that it is now, I might have to make a side-blog lol. Probably gonna make fanart too so it might be worthwhile.

(also sidenote: if you like these books and have never listened to the audiobooks, go do it. It is so worth it. David Tennant does voices and sings the songs and everything. Also the orchestral soundtrack in between each chapter is so amazing. It was literally made specifically for the audiobooks.)

How did you and your husband meet 👀 and what was your wedding like? I love being nosy about other people's love stories, it's so sweet

Ooo. Okay so. My Husband and I actually met in middle school! I have such a shit memory, but this one.. it's still so vivid in my head.

It was early April of our 8th grade year, nearing the end of the school year, and He was new. The moment He walked in, I felt it. It was.. otherworldly. I just knew we were meant to be together. I spent the rest of the school year lowkey being very creepy about it. He didn't even know me until His girlfriend at the time introduced us. And for some reason my immediate response was "I need to make this guy notice me" soooo I made out with His girlfriend in front of Him.

Then, 9th grade rolled around. It was a bad year for me, I ended up in the psych hospital in November that year. After I got out, all of my friends just kind of avoided me. Didn't wanna be seen with "the psycho", ya know? And apparently this infuriated Him, and He started sitting with me at lunch so I wasn't alone. It slowly became a lot more serious- He was helping me while I adjusted to new meds, while I was going through doctors, everything. We talked on the phone for 6 hours one day, and the next day at school He walked me to class, and before I went in I just turned and hugged Him and burrowed my face into Him. He pulled away and just said "so is that a yes?" And I just smiled and nodded. Been together ever since!

Our wedding wasn't that interesting lol About 9 months after HS graduation, we were chilling in our car and I said "we should get married" (this had been a topic of conversation for over 2 years at this point) and He said "yeah, we should" and so I asked "when?" to which He replied "I think my mom is off next Thursday?" Sooo I bought a pink prom dress and some white Keds with glitter laces and we went to a lake and a family friend married us in front of our parents and siblings! No rings or anything haha Just.. us. If we did it over, we'd probably do a courthouse wedding without anyone else present lol

oh man, i was hoping it would be salvageable but at least a few songs on the Echo & The Bunnymen CD i picked up today are just not listenable. There's a scratch right in the middle of the disc smh

prob shouldn't have bought it but i was so excited about the industrial CDs i found that i didn't stop to look lol
