It's midway thru January, but it's never too late to reflect on the year before. I think I watched the most dramas I've ever had this past year, so I wanted to write a little roundup with my thoughts.

Unchained Love (2022) ⭐️ 7.5

Part palace drama, part comedy, this was a fun ride. I really liked watching the relationship between Bu Yinlou and Xiao Duo develop from friendship into romance. The comedy moments were really well done, and had me actually laughing out loud. The fight sequences were also really well done, and I liked the costumes. However, the last five or so episodes had such an abrupt tonal shift, and there were some questionable decisions made by otherwise smart characters, so it kind of fell flat at the end. BUT I would still watch it again, just maybe just skip the last eps.

I've Fallen for You (2020) ⭐️ 8

I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. The basic concept is: childhood sweethearts try to find their way back to each other, end up married after a strange series of events, but they aren't sure their spouse is the childhood sweetheart they're looking for. It's silly, cute, and very good fun. I really liked the secondary couple as well. The ending managed to make me very emotional, which surprised me. And I enjoyed that the heroine was a fan of doing autopsies (something that does occasionally become plot-relevant).

Miss the Dragon (2021) ⭐️ 7

Okay, first off, I know this one has a reputation of being a bad drama. And tbh, I agree! Objectively, it's not very good. HOWEVER! The viewing experience? Was so fun. The characters? Very entertaining. The frenemy dynamic between the ML and 2ndML? Hilarious and also a bit gay. The FL is a bit flat, but she does develop more personality through her various reincarnations. My fave life of hers was the 3rd, I believe (the lady general arc). Wang Hedi's acting is not the best but I still think he's very cute lol and he's watchable! It's just maybe not what you'd expect from him if you saw CLJ or The Rational Life first.

The Rational Life (2021) ⭐️ 9

Yes, this was for a bit of a palate cleanser after the overall ride that was Miss the Dragon. I wasn't sure if I'd be into the modern cdrama genre cuz fantasy/historical is more my preferred vibe of media, HOWEVER, I wanted to give it a shot because I'd seen some cute gifs. I really loved it, far more than I expected to. Every character was really well done, and I really liked how the story was centred on women's experiences in various workplaces/times in their life. It also gave me age gap brainrot, I won't lie. I loved the gradual build from coworkers to friendship to romance with Qi Xiao and Shen Ruoxin. I will say tho... I would like to know what whoever dressed Wang Hedi in this show was thinking. Some of those outfits were... a choice lol.

Till the End of the Moon (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

Everyone has seen or at least heard about it at this point. Dare I say it's iconic? I won't lie, my rating upon finishing it was lower. I had issues with the pacing in parts and I found the last episodes difficult to get thru because they just didn't capture my attention the way the beginning of the drama did. However, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Plus, the performances by Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu are amazing. And I really feel they embody the "enemies to lovers" trope better than anyone!

A Romance of the Little Forest (2022) ⭐️ 7

Tbh... this show deserves less than a 7, but I rated it as such because I love my queen Xinxin, and her chemistry with Zhang Binbin was good. I think this would've worked better as a 24-episode drama, as the last couple plot arcs felt kind of tacked on. It's great if you want to see Yu Shuxin in various adorable outfits and a fun fake dating plot, but maybe stopping midway is good enough. Fair warning, the second couple's storyline was awful on several levels. Essentially, the man lies about being in a wheelchair to garner sympathy with his crush, who herself is partially Deaf. Yeah, it's BAD. Just skip all their scenes.

Back from the Brink (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

I really enjoyed this, especially how silly it could be. They really amped up the humour, and to me that worked well. At the same time, there were also some very heartfelt moments that made me tear up. I really liked the side couples as well, they were all quite likeable. It was just a really fun show from beginning to end.

The Starry Love (2023) ⭐️ 7.5

I really enjoyed this, up until the last arc. I found after that, it dragged a bit. To be honest, it dragged a bit in earlier parts too. What saved it for me was the humour, the relationship between the two sisters, the Void Realm subplots, and the adorable Di Lanjue. Unfortunately, Yetan/Youqin didn't really do much for me, but I still found them enjoyable at times.

The Wolf (2020) ⭐️ 8.5

This was a surprise for me. I didn't expect I'd like it much going in, but I still wanted to give it a try for my guy Xiao Zhan. I'd tried watching it before when it first aired, but I found the first couple episodes too cheesy. I still found them incredibly cheesy this time, but after about midway through episode 3 when the main plot kicked off, I found myself really invested. Fair warning, Xiao Zhan only shows up in episode 11, so if you're watching it just for him, you may be disappointed. Fortunately, I found myself invested in all the characters quite a bit. If you like messy toxic bitches, this is the drama for you. Warning: there was an attempted rape scene I found quite uncomfortable (though it's not played as being romantic, thankfully). There are a couple other dubcon incidents I wasn't a huge fan of, and one character has a miscarriage. Just things to keep in mind before viewing.

My Journey to You ⭐️ 8

Where do I even start here? Once again, I probably should rate it lower, because the story itself is a mess. HOWEVER, the characters, aesthetics, and cinematography are all excellent. The characters are really what stayed with me the most, and the episode focusing on Yun Que was devastating in all the best ways. The beginning episodes were also fantastic, the way the story unfurled. It just became clear in the latter half of the series that the writer had written himself into a corner and didn't know how to get out. Frustrating, but I don't regret my journey with this show (heh, get it). It's for that reason I'm not sure I can ever rec it to anyone, but I'll gladly talk about it to anyone who will listen.

Never Give Up (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

This was a fun office sitcom-style drama that I really breezed through after the horror show that was MJTY. Lighthearted with short episodes, it was very enjoyable. If you've ever worked in an office, you can probably relate. Once again, I'd like to speak with whoever dressed Wang Hedi cuz they made some interesting choices lol.

Ancient Love Poetry (2021) ⭐️ 9

Another surprise for me. I had tried the first episodes a while back and found it a bit dense, but restarting it this year I found it a lot more interesting. Maybe having more xianxia general knowledge helped me out. It was a really beautifully done drama. The CGI and sets were all superb. There was a whole host of characters to get invested in as well. It was a truly epic story from start to finish.

Destined With You (2023) ⭐️ 7.5

The one Kdrama on this list! I really loved the two actors, their chemistry, and the plot in general, but the pacing in the middle took me out a bit. I would still recommend watching it, as there was lots to enjoy. The modern with magic elements were really intriguing, as was the concept of past lives. I also like that the ML and 2ndML work together instead of constantly butting heads once it becomes clear who the FL will pick. The flashbacks to the past life were also really interesting--I wish we'd had more of that tbh! I'll definitely be looking out for both actors in other dramas!

As for the shows I placed on hold, I will likely stop lying to myself and drop them. But I might give them another shot before doing so. I'm still really disappointed by Only for Love, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Not even the power of Didi and Bai Lu could make me do it. It just got too frustrating.

Now, I'm currently watching Story of Kunning Palace, Royal Rumours, and The Last Immortal. I'm not super sold on the last 2, but SOKP has really grabbed me by the throat (just like Xie Wei to Jiang Xuening) so I'm glad to be starting the year off strong!

Hi everyone. This post is gonna be different from my normal content (if you can even call it that, lol) and a lot more rambly (is that a word?)

For a couple years now I've been wanting to make a comic. I was never sure though, about what. Recently I've been writing a Spideytorch fanfic, and I've been having a bunch of brilliant and vivid ideas that my ADHD won't let me get down onto the screen.

I realized that maybe this would be the chance to make my comic. With a hard consistent schedule, I could get more motivation than just staring at a blank screen.

The only problem is that I'm not the greatest at art and drawing. I guess you could call me decent, but that's about it. So I wanted to see if anybody here would be interested in a comic with the art style featured below:

Drew this piece of Daredevil yesterday, and I'd say this is a good representation of what the art would look like (though I'd probably do some shading and highlights and stuff).

Now on to the actual content of the comic, what would be in it?

My plan was a high school AU Spideytorch fic, where Johnny transfers to Midtown Tech for mysterious reasons (it would be a funny reveal, I swear) and Peter struggles with his sexuality while also struggling with the fact that Johnny is kind of unlikeable at first.

I don't want to do an enemies to lovers thing, but my ideas might change if this ever takes off. I want it to be a frenemies to lovers, if that's a thing lol.

Also as a warning I should say that I might not update every week if this happens, because school happens to exist.

More warnings of stuff that might be in the comic:

I go back and reread your posts occasionally because I really resonate with your posts about Epic Romance that I think transcends some of the tropes fandoms evolve around (e.g. enemies to lovers) which I don't always find myself connnecting with. I am just a bit curious about something:

What do you think of the pairing Solas/Lavellan from Dragon Age? (I searched your blog for it just in case you already spoke on the subject but sorry if I missed it).

I don't know if video games are your thing, or if a Player Character changes the dynamic you're into, but I was curious because it's a mythic romance of quite epic proportions. I know you've mentioned you sort of don't like a blog that is into adjacent ships to it (I think when you discussed Raistlin/Crysania) or maybe I'm just reading into that hahahah, so I understand if that influences if you do/don't. What I like about it beyond the character of Solas is that it's a tragedy with potential for hope ('Our love will endure'), and I think that's something your speed?

If you are not interested in the pairing (though I'd be interested to hear why, especially because Solas hits a few similar archetypal boxes and the reason why you don't like the pairing is as interesting to me as why you would!) and want another question to respond to instead:

Thank you for the ask! Yeah, same. EtL is only rarely written with the dynamic that I like, so most of the popular ships are not for me. I think I've disappointed a lot of fellow travellers by having zero interest in rivalry or frenemies style EtL ships.

I do play games, but I've only played like five minutes of one of the Dragon Age games. I've seen a lot of people talking about Solas and know he's the wank magnet tragic murder boy fav of the franchise, but I haven't gathered much of anything about the ship dynamic. I don't know enough about his arc/characterisation to say whether I'd be interested. But for sure, if there's an element of enduring hope, tragic romance can be my thing (so I read 5437540 fix-it fics).

I'm sorry I really don't have any thoughts to offer either way! :( If I get around to playing the game, I will post any ramblings I have about it!

I'm developing a fic for my long latent and repressed Cosmo/Kathy shipping urges, but that's like a radical departure for me on several levels lmao. Yes, I confess, sometimes I'll ship a couple of wholesome cinnamon rolls who have zero conflict because the banter is spicy and the vibes are adorable.

It's so funny how people are always trying to compare B&tB ships (like Reylo, E/C, etc. with grotesques or tragic heroes) to the Bad Boy/Ingenue/Nice Guy triangle and dismiss redemption romance fans as silly girls who haven't learned their lesson about being attracted to Bad Boys, because any example you can name of a triangle where the love interest is actually a Bad Boy, I ship her with the faithful friend (not a Nice Guy, but a legitimately nice guy). Like, I watched Pretty In Pink a couple years ago and man it was obvious she was not supposed to end up with Blane. I felt so vindicated when I read about the intended ending lol.

But anyway, I've been crying about whouffaldi again lately, re-reading some E/C fics, thinking of fleshing out/finishing some very self-indulgent E/C one-shots I made notes for, still wanting to write that Oh Hyun Jae/Soo Young fic that I accidentally wrote a kind of weird 'humour' prequel too D:, and as always trying to finish my Lokane fic finally. It has 2-3 more chapters, tops, and it's killing me I can't just get it done. It already has its main emotional climax, so I'm not leaving people hanging too bad, but maaaaannn!!! I swore a blood oath with myself I wouldn't start another novel-length fic until it is finished and this has lead to cascade of procrastination where I use it as an excuse not to do other things while also making zero progress with it. Agjkdfhdfd.

Also, I kinda want to add that extra chapter to my Bang-won/Hui Jae fic because I looooooove him and it's such a great pairing and I was pleasantly surprised how well that fic turned out, but it would be hard to justify and thus hard to find an 'ending' for it. It'd just be some 'stuff' pasted on lol.

I'm imagining Charles' society providing weapons, drugs, maybe even food and stuff? for Joseph's cult, because good business is good business no matter how crazy the source. And since Joseph's cult is an investment, Charles can then be concerned with making sure they're able to continue their operations, and can spend some time here and there on the premises (if that's ever allowed!) to make sure that everything is running as smoothly as it can. Maybe he even helps train some of the folks there, since they're largely unprofessional?

I italicised shippy options because you know me. Charles doesn't know how to love in healthy ways, so most of his ships would default to Red Flaggy. LMAO. Also I'm still mostly canonblind, but I italicised fight club because I thought it would be fun if they ever just got into scrapes for the sake of getting into scrapes. Doesn't have to be any deeper than that!

The only issue I can see would be if Joseph ever tries to convince Charles to stay with the Project permanently instead of remaining with the Jade Dragons. Because he's never gonna say "yes" to that. LOL.

any theories on why madatobi is so popular? to me it makes no sense. very little canon interaction (I mean not that this matters) and also like (and this goes to show how little Im aware of the fandom lmao) I always thought izuna & tobirama / madara & hashirama relationships would be more popular bc of the in text structure theyre given… so the prevalance of madatobi absolutely came out of left field for me. have to say I wish I was still ignorant

enemies to lovers babyyyyy

they're very, very, VERY good character types for the juiciest enemies to lovers tropes; tobirama is a mean little cunt and a realist while madara is a boisterous bastard and emotionally driven. fundamentally they go great together. for people who love E2L hashirama doesn't really 'click' because he doesn't believe they are enemies until madara starts attacking the village which isn't really a great jumping-off point. as for fandom archetypes people prefer balls of sunshine with loudmouths when they're not enemies or the loudmouth is a lone agent :( rip king you could have friendzoned him so good

the problem for me is that the text does not support it to the point it's comedic its like

1. madara already has a senju he has a fraught frenemy relationship with that canon made really really gay at least on his end even though i dont think hashirama will ever love him sorry king. sorry. hes gonna friendzone you man.

2. while their personalities go well together socially madara and tobirama are both the types of dudes to talk past people; they don't have any chemistry they would obviously just not pay attention to what the other is saying... its like...boring enemies

3. the battle is one of obligation the stakes aren't personal they don't even fight each other ever. imagine like idk enough iconic enemies with weirdly detailed pasts together... uh... ok forget that hashimada are homoerotic for a sec but imagine cloud and sephiroth battling to the death and sephiroth decides to hook up with tifa or barrett. like man. are you sure?

ok pre-game events sephiroth/barrett would be like crazy... um... i guess tifa in this case since she's younger and not a structural element

4. just give izuna madara's fanon personality are you crazy. he doesnt have a personality you can do this. this is why izuna is treated like a spare tire you took away his purpose (to stand next to tobirama)

5. in order to escape the antichemistry of the context they exist in people defang their dynamic and make tobirama the victim, make the uchiha the heroes, or both in order to get the awkward non-enemy thing out of the way so it's a more digestible "tobirama doesn't trust uchiha and the uchiha don't trust tobirama but they're willing to work together" kind of setup. which is good but it demands a softness that undermines the power of their cunty archetypes a little. i can't fuck with it but that's my preference i've said before i only read character stuff so "softening archetypes" sounds evil to me

every time people ask me about fic stuff i sort of cringe at how picky i am LOL...its fic...and i act this way. read more books maybe. anyway

6. people wont let them be toxic unless it's for sexual sadism reasons. i follow madatobi artists and fic writers all the time and they're all people who get that if you crash against someone you have no chemistry with specifically because you have no chemistry with them and you need that. and you discover you are capable of developing chemistry as you throw shit at each other. the magic fucking happens.

also full madatobi aus like modern aus or whatever tend to be waaay better but i love how fucked up founders era is so i won't read modern stuff for a ship i dont like LOL. and youkai aus are better but like...the prose in these trying to make tobirama seem ethereal always inventing a new kind of racism for albino people. buddy you wouldn't do this to jiraiya. stop

Hey! I’m really thinking about writing some LITG2 fan fiction. I don’t think there’s a lot out there since it’s so new. But I’m thinking about writing a Will fan fic (going the way that we actually wanted it to lol) and kinda rewriting it so that it’s Will instead of Bruno/James. Maybe an frenemies to lovers? Or MC finds him annoying at first but then grows to love him? Im not sure yet. But do you have any tips?

hello!! you know, these asks about advice get me soft, holy shit!

so, i love the idea of you writing a frenemies-to-lovers with will, since we know he's a slowburn (so far it has been implied he is indeed an end-game option).

i don't know will from the game because i'm not playing the season, but still, i want to help, so these are the tips i want to give you about this specific trope.

writing frenemies or enemies-to-lovers

support roles. you need a good support system for your main characters (oc and will), because that's also how you convey information without doing an info dump on your reader. the friends having an arc goes a long way as well, especially if one of them have feelings for one of the parts (like james or thabi).

banter. it has to stick the landing and be witty as it needs to be stressful for the reader. when i read something that has good, witty responses, even if i know what the final word or phrase is gonna be, i'm still excited to see the delivery.

be mean! it's quite normal to have two people trying to hit where it hurts when having a heated discussion or altercation. don't be afraid to go there with your characters. they can be pulling each other's balls over small things and still have a big impact on the story. which takes me to the next point:

this could be the entryway for them to find conciliation. if someone exaggerated too much on the banter it could potentially hurt the other's feelings, that would go to show both parts do have feelings but they never realize that because the only thing they see is an enemy.

watch some roasts to get inspiration. i did that when i was writing a different piece (that may or may not be released at some point) and it surely helped! i got so many shots fired from both parts that i couldn't stop writing and i had the best time in the process!

you need comedy! don't forget the people around them, they're not just a landscape, they're an audience, and not only to hear the main characters arguing. they're essentially your comical relief, otherwise your story will become tired and stressful without it. think of the people watching them constantly showing expressions like:

when falling in love happens. in my opinion there's more reluctance about admitting that you have feelings for them when you hate each other. it doesn't happen overnight and there's lots of resistance about it, even to admit to themselves that those feelings have changed. which takes me to next point:

awkwardness. this is where the second most fun moment happens, when they're aware about their feelings but still proud enough to not say anything. will or your oc could potentially be staring at the other, stealing glances without noticing, not knowing how to give a good comeback and lose the debate, etc.

building up to something tender. perhaps one of them would say things about how the other chews (or something that annoys them) and suddenly, when in a group scene, they don't say anything. when asked they could respond "it's not that bad i guess" while shrugging. the affection has to happen little by little, otherwise it's too sudden and it feels like we've skipped a few chapters.

eventually, when it happens. again, in my opinion, this is pretty much the end of the story, and of course we want to see the couple being happy, but just because that happened it doesn't mean they can't exchange a shot or two. it could possibly be a turn-on for them, it's up to you to decide.

the one thing i always keep in mind when writing enemies is to pay attention to their body language during those exchanges. they're always tense, feeling flushed and even warm sometimes. you need to define those feelings with a description of the scene instead of telling the reader as it is. be subtle about the hints of agitation in both characters.

use the environment! mugs can be placed on the counter with anger, chairs can be dragged producing an annoying noise, pillows can be chucked with violence, someone can splash the other while jumping into the pool... all those things can play a huge role on your scene so use the space around them.

and i would like to add a little extra here: whenever i write someone angry or upset, they have a little... tick. something specific to them. for instance, i'm writing a guy named ben, who has long and straight hair, and whenever he's nervous he plays with the ends by reaching for them behind his back. when he's mad or about to argue he immediately puts his hair on a bun. find something that can fit with your character's personality and looks and go bunkers with that little tick when they're angry, nervous, sad. once the reader sees that happening they'll associate it with previous moments and immediately know the tone you're going for in that scene.

Well, you see, while he's up there in the attic I think my dumbass would catch feelings for him so it would go from - hold onto your seat - unrequited crush (me having a crush on him, he would never know tho lol) to enemies (?) to friends to lovers.

I have no doubt about how this relationship would go down tho. Now, I don't know what the name for this trope is but between us as a couple there would be constant teasing. Absolutely never ending insults in an affectionate way. This guy brings out the best and worst of me. But with the insults we would always know it's meant in an affectionate and loving way; we would be play fighting constantly. Non-stop. Unless we're napping lol. That's gonna be a huge part of our time spent together, for sure. I think from an outsiders perspective, we could be seen as either hating eachother or being frenemies. But really that's just how I think we would express our feelings for eachother lmao.

That being said, I still think we would have a lot of those like, cheesy and sweet moments, but they would be mostly in private. The first thing that came to mind is a date - stargazing by a lake and falling asleep- 🙈 I think these cute moments would also happen around other people sometimes, which would confuse them probably lol

I can't watch live but I'm gonna be able to see the vod tomorrow so I thought I'd write a little wishlist for what I'd love to see in the finale! Obviously not everything is possible and the cast has their own wishes and directions for their characters, but I just think these are ways I'd personally love to see the character's stories wrap up! (Not including any one shot potential for the future of course).

First up; Fjord!

I mean he's gotta go see Vandran, that's a given, mans kinda been stranded somewhat on an island for a while and I think Fjord needs to tell his father figure about what he's made of himself in their time apart.

Also SABIEN!! I dont think I've said it but Fjord x Sabien frenemies to lovers to enemies where Fjord has been tracking him down?? Very good stuff. Though I can see "The Gang Invades Dark Tow... Again" as a great one shot to go find him.

Along those lines, they may combine that finding Sabien with making sure Ukotoa never gets out in one big Fjord-centric one shot

Jester;

First and foremost, we gotta see the result of leaving Marion and the Gentleman alone for a while, obviously!! And if it didnt work then maybe a second try or some extra encouragement for our sweet little tiefling.

There has to be some sort of moment with Artie. Idk what exactly but I think a sweet moment of recollection of what they've been through together would be sweet.

Start up the detective agency, they've got the potential totally!

Caleb;

In case it isn't obvious, Shadowgast endgame supporter here.

Though I would also like to see some acknowledgement of Blumentrio past because we never got any of that in the game.

A moment with Yussa because they could have had a real student and pupil type deal with Caleb overcoming the trauma of Trent with someone who seems like would actually care. We didn't really get to know Yussa much, but I have a whole internal idea of what he's like in my head lol.

And then there's the icky-thong.. Without a doubt they're going to deal with that in a one shot at some point, so I dont think much will come of it in the finale. But if it does, I imagine they'd probably go give that knowledge to the cobalt soul and it would get dealt with pretty quick since its finally a way for them to begin the destruction of the Cerberus Assembly.

Veth;

Honestly, Veth's story has been ready to end so other than the detective agency, it's just making a life with her family which is pretty much guaranteed.

Yasha;

Yasha is also pretty set for the end game because she got her best friend back already and she has a great girlfriend, so the only thing I hope for is for her to have some final send off to Zuala. Whether if that means finding her actual grave, or making a shrine to her, either works. So long as she delivers her those flowers, I'm happy.

Caduceus;

I hope Cad gets to rest. That's about it honestly, the poor lanky boy has been through a lot and he needs to go back to his introvert life at the grove. With visits to his friends of course, but his mission is done, he can retire now.

Molly;

You know still in shock we got them back tbh so I have NO clue what my wishes for him are.. Other than the gang catching him back up on what's happened and just.. I guess helping him get back to his chipper 2 year old self.

I think they all just need some family time with their lavender tiefling and then they take turns exploring the world with him.

Beau;

I've always had a hard time reading Beau and what she wants, but I think that the staples are that she wants her family safe and that she wants to get rid of corrupt bastards from the system so it can perhaps function well. So I think her continuing to work for the cobalt soul is pretty guaranteed.

But also, I would love for her to be involved with TJ and to just.. make things better for him than it was for her with that family since their father hasn't changed and I dont think their mother will step up for them ever.

Essek;

It is to nobody's surprise that I have wishes for Essek too lol.

Other than Shadowghast endgame, I just... I hope he learns to forgive himself and decides to stay with the M9. I know it's unlikely he'll completely abandon the dynasty, but I hope he does. He loves those idiots and they love him. I just want him to be happy.

you and atsumu would make such a powerful pair that i can’t think of matching you up with anyone else. first and foremost, i can imagine you two not getting along splendidly (*cough* frenemies to lovers trope *cough*), but as time goes on, you two will realize you harbor romantic feelings for each other !! and it’s actually goals--

it kind of goes like this: you don’t necessarily like how atsumu . . . has an arrogant streak. you can tell he knows he’s hot shit. he has this habit of calling things as he sees it, which is both admirable and kind of rude. he holds himself and others to a high standard. he sometimes fails to look at the way he treats others. even if he does see it, he doesn’t care enough to change himself.

whereas. . . you’re a bit of a foil to him. you’re kinder in your approach. given you’re naturally smart & you feel obligated to help others no matter how busy you are, you are so selfless! as opposed to atsumu, you recognize your flaws with social interactions! you try to fix it by sympathizing with and helping others even if it’s not natural to you.

with that note-- atsumu ends up realizing this about you & he think it’s pretty endearing. although he would be fairly annoyed that people may take advantage of you since you have a problem saying “no” to others. he’ll surprise you by seriously letting you know he has no problem letting down people for you if you ever need it.

it’s the small things that will shift your view on atsumu, and in turn, push you guys closer--

essentially, you may not like him especially at first. but ! i feel like you would see some of yourself in him, and you have more similarities than you both stubbornly refuse to admit. one being the fact you two hold such high expectations for yourselves, and you aren’t satisfied with the bare minimum. arguably, you both have this quality where if you’re passionate about something, you two will obsess over it and work at it.

i can see you guys often bumping into each other because you two are always working. you can’t avoid each other lol. with atsumu working on his volleyball skills on the court, and you working on crossfit in the gym, you see each other in passing ALL THE TIME.

when you two become close enough. . . in passing, you will playfully jab at each other about your respective work. to the onlookers, it’s definitely flirting, but to you guys, it’s not just that because your words definitely have an impact on each other. whether you intended this or not, you two push each other to be better with your teasing and sometimes brutal words.

for example, to the handsome setter, you might say something like “your serve’s looking weak there; you sure you’re putting in enough work ?” and that kind of riles atsumu up. he’d want to do better because his game depends on it, but also a large part of him (ahem, his ego) would want to prove you wrong. besides . . . is he a bit attracted with that someone who has the audacity to say such things to him? oh, that’s an easy yes.

on a different note, you never have to worry about filtering your words or saying something to appease atsumu. in fact, the setter would always want you to be “unapologetically yourself”, and he’d never want you to change for the supposed norm. i feel like he had a pretty apathetic view when it came to girls before meeting you (that squealin’ pig scene comes to mind dfiosjls).

he didn’t really seem to have an interest in relationships since he’s so dialed in on volleyball. however, in terms of what he generally looks for in a girlfriend, osamu remarks atsumu’s whipped for someone who has enough confidence to deal with his blunt, crude ways & not take everything he says so sensitively.

after a moment or two . . . atsumu will realize that’s literally you. catch osamu being like obviously

the two of you would be perfect because you stand your ground & call him out for his bullcrap. you just have this effect on him where you basically ground him & keep him more structured if that makes sense. in any case, you’re not so delicate and insecure that atsumu has to walk on ice for you. and vice versa.

also- atsumu loses it when you use your sarcastic humor & sharp wit against him. he absolutely lives for the banter you have. honestly, there’s so much tension whenever you guys are together that people just want you to kiss already. and you guys will. . . but in due time ~

it’s a bit of slow burn because it takes you both awhile to come to terms to the fact you like each other so much. . . even though you probably exchange more harsh comments than kind ones. after all, there’s a thin line between love and hate. yet, you two both get the unspoken message in spite of those words. but yeah, grappling with these feelings is hard. . .

when you guys finally exchange numbers (because you’re not just enemies now but perhaps friends-), atsumu surprisingly gets most of your memes you send him?? like, , , it’s kind of weird how he’s on the same wavelength as you, and you’re just like how does he know all these references??

by the way, your taste in music ? immaculate.

atsumu will definitely get into 70s music because that’s all you force let him to listen to when you’re hanging out. i can imagine that once you two become a thing, you’ll definitely have impromptu singing where atsumu is singing horridly (maybe on purpose to get on your nerves) and you’re trying to offset it. tbh, david bowie would cringe at atsumu’s poor rendition.

your hobbies of studying theoretical fields & absurd theories about reality may go over atsumu’s head at times, but he finds this side of yours rlly intriguing. he’s the "smarter” twin, so he’ll try to show off what knowledge he does possess in order to capture your affections. study dates are basically you two trying to roast each other & flirt more so than studying ahah.

generally speaking, you two tend to match each other’s energy, and i feel like it wouldn’t take too, too long for you to open up to atsumu and him for you. at least for friendship wise. there was initial dislike, but you two just mesh so well that the dislike kind of becomes a thing of the past.. like you two will find that you’re laughing and giggling in each other’s presence instead of just going at each other’s throats— you two can show your silly & goofy sides and i’m all here for that. just, the development!

and yes, it may take awhile for atsumu to accept his feelings for you, but once he does, he’ll make it clear what his intentions are. he’ll actually be a little weird at first because he’ll try to do something thoughtful or kind, like killing a spider instead of laughing at your horror like he normally does. and it’s unsettling to you.

anyway ! i feel like he’d just out of nowhere confess to you & you’re just left with a shook face because he likes you?? given your history with crushes, you weren’t expecting for atsumu to take that sort of interest in you but now you’re left with him awaiting your answer. . .

you say yes eventually- but atsumu definitely teases you for your mental lapse. but really his heart is doing somersaults and he’s over the moon-

honestly you two are like that athletic couple?? you doing crossfit and also swimming & atsumu doing volleyball? you two just look perfect together.

but also, power to you guys for working hard & chasing your dreams-- it’s so inspiring. atsumu will 100% support all your dreams & endeavors even if they seem all over the place. like if you want to go into biomedical engineering, yes, atsumu will be there for a caffeine run if you need some for studying. or perhaps even astrophysics? atsumu will do his best to support you with whatever it may be-- even with his own busy schedule. his actions tend to show his love than his words.

i . prosopography .

nina’s story begins during the chance meeting of her parents , ara kim and hyun-woo min , when they were in their early twenties . most would assume that they weren’t compatible for one another as ara was the spoiled child of the kim family , who were known around south korea for owning various luxury buildings and apartment complexes in the gangnam area . hyun-woo on the other hand was your regular college student who worked a job he hated to pay his tuition , but he had big dreams as he wanted to someday own his own architecture firm . when the mindless ara wrecked her fancy car into hyun-woo’s beat up toyota , it was love at first sight .

alexa , play ‘ i don’t care ’ by ariana grande ! she doesn’t care about what other people have to say or how people feel about her , especially considering how shameless she can be in most of her actions . she’s ridiculously blunt , but really hates when people are bitchy for no reason ? i don’t know , a paradox considering that she can be bitchy for no reason too FKNDSFUDS . responds heavily to the energy that she’s given . fully believes that the sun and moon determines her mood for the day .

sUpErIoRiTy CoMpLeX ? gOd CoMpLeX ? sounds about right . she doesn’t outright brag about herself all the time , but she’s definitely the type to bring it up when it applies to the conversation . nina is the mean friend that everyone needs , and has a weird dislike for people who are too nice .

nina isn’t a stone cold bitch , though . she likes having fun , she likes to laugh , and she especially likes to spend time with her friends . she’s capable of empathy and compassion , yes . will she show that all the time ? of course not ! considering that she’s an only child , nina is used to having all eyes on her , so she has no shame in her fame when she comes back to farrow house wearing last night’s dress and carrying her heels .

iii . headcanons .

she already knows that graduate school is in her future , but she hasn’t decided on where she wants to go yet .

nina resides in farrow house , and she’s probably the worst kind of roommate there is considering how type a she can be at times . her room ( or side of the room i’m not sure of the setup ) is relatively organized at all times . she’s a lover of white , but white with color , so she keeps the tones light with soft shades of pink scattered throughout ! she likes a gold accent , and everything has its own place .

doesn’t like to leave her bedroom without making her bed or picking things up . at night she may just slip out of her clothes and go to bed , but she’s definitely going to pick it up that next morning , even her walk of shame clothes KNJFDISF .

despite her behavior at times , nina is someone who studies hard because she doesn’t like anything less than an A . although i will say that she obsesses over her grades , but she knows that if she slacks then she’ll get slacker grades .

i love a good women loving women scenario , so i’d like to have an ex girlfriend for her ! i see them as being on good terms and they simply drifted apart , but they’re really close ! sometimes they can get a little touchy feely with one another so hello 👀 .

i would die for literally any form of angst that you could possibly think of ? angsty friends , angsty exes , angsty anything . i love to put myself through misery so honestly … bury me six feet under and i will literally thank you .

tucker (matthew daddario) needs a best friend, someone (probably the only one) who he turns to for the slighest of help. can be a platonic ship (m/f/nb) or romantic (f).

someone who looks down on ellie. maybe someone who doesn’t really know her but only knows of her and now that she’s back in jackson they’re always kind of competitive with each other. maybe they’re like enemies or frenemies.

joel (josh duhamel) just give him older muses to befriend. this is an au joel where he’s not dead so we’d probably have to plot more of this.

barney (jacob elordi) is from the WLF but he hates it. so maybe someone he either knows from the WLF and they both ran away at one point (not together) or they’re against him running away.

my new muse (johnathan daviss) needs everything. i’m not sure what i want him to be like but he probably needs some angsty relationships.

also my other new muse (mason gooding) needs everything. so throw something at me. i might make him a prior rattler’s child that ran away. : /

Ikesen NW OC week day 1!! Introduction - Here’s Otsuta~

About her: I stole her from Sasuke’s route, she was just a faceless NPC but I coulda SWORN her character arc was gonna come back around since she was named, but then she vanished in like chapter 4 kjdsfsdka she’s my character now, Cybird >:)

Otsuta’s bit younger than MC by like only a few years, around Ieyasu’s age, like early 20s. She’s kind of a sneaky brat and she can be pretty cruel and ruthless, hence the whole....trying to murder you in Sasuke’s route thing, but ultimately she always regrets going too far (she has trouble admitting it though).

She really idolizes Nobunaga, she says it’s a normal romantic crush but if anything it seems more like she just really wants to be him. She talks about him like a little kid talking about how he’s gonna be JUST like his dad when he grows up!! Just as cool as him!!! She’s defiinitely a sort of wannabe type of character.

Route: After getting kicked out of Azuchi, Otsuta meets Motonari and in exchange for some information on the new princess, she gets him to train her (Motonari probably only agreed ‘cause he thought she might be good for something later, like she probably has lots of old friends in Azuchi despite her exile, maybe he could use her as some kind of bait? he wasn’t expecting her to completely take the training seriously and stick with it for so long). She starts training originally for revenge against MC for getting her kicked out (although it was her own fault lol) but after hanging out with pirates for so long she kind of starts to realize she didn’t really love Nobunaga as much as she just wanted to be like him, maybe she should try to learn to live her life without trying to be like someone else? After trying to kill MC for like the third time Otsuta kind of.........doesn’t wanna get revenge anymore......MC’s kind of sweet y’know maybe she doesn’t deserve this.....plus she’s really cute.....

jhkdlfsds ANYWAY yeah it’s a bit of an enemies to Otsuta thinks they’re frenemies and MC thinks they’re friends to lovers kind of deal, and a lot of Otsuta learning to Chill Out and become a better person, that kind of thing?

Relationships: (despite her being my newest Ikesen OC she’s got the most fleshed out relationships lfkdsjdfskalkdfb) MC: Otsuta hates her at first ‘cause Nobunaga pays so much attention to her, but later once she chills out she realizes MC’s an adorable sweetheart and Ostuta feels So Bad fjdskjds MC is actually fully ready to forgive her and become friends like immediately despite the whole attempted murder thing (that is just how she meets most of her friends at this point though) Nobunaga: Otsuta thinks he’s SO COOL and the BEST and she wants to be him when she grows up SO BAD and Nobunaga.....thinks she’s fine, maybe a little wild for a maid but he likes her well enough, I think he would think of her and the rest of his staff like kinda, his responsibility though? Like I think he’d feel like a disappointed father who failed his kid by not being a good enough influence Motonari: I think these two would be like, pals? like as good as friends as you can become with someone like Motonari? Like I think their relationship would be a surprisingly close platonic one, I think Otsuta would talk about him like he’s her big brother hdjfskldskdf like I dunno? Motonari would look at Otsuta and be like “any day now I will betray even you and burn this world to the ground” and Otsuta would be like “lol ily 2 man” Mitsuhide: he and Otsuta get along really well but it pisses him off ‘cause her sneaky brat-ness reminds him too much of himself, I think they kind of act like rivals? especially since Mitsuhide’d be such a good love rival(tm)

Love Rival: like I just mentioned, I think Mitsuhide would work really well, especially since in Sasuke’s route he’s the first to figure out Otsuta’s up to something, plus imagine the OT3 potential

lennon was born and raised in the upper east side of new york with both her parents and younger sister. her mom being a well known fashion designer and her father being a musician.

thankful that her and her little sister are close in age, they’re best friends. have always been there for each other through everything for their entire lives. even now. lennon can trust her with anything.

they grew up surrounded by music and lavish parties, lennon soon realized how much she loved to sing. her sister and father would play instruments and she’d dance around the living room and sing for them. though she quickly stuck to only singing in the shower once she saw how talented her sister was. sure lennon loved being in the spotlight, but wanted each of them to have their own and shine together.

she was the young girl who would sneak into her mother’s closet when they had a gala or late night function the girl’s weren’t old enough to attend yet. perfecting the art of walking in heels by the age of 5.

she’d sneak into her mom’s workshop and “borrow” designs off her rack for parties, being sure to but the items back before morning.

lennon was always drawn to fashion, wearing it, creating it...you name it. when she was finally able to go to all the events she’d study what everyone was wearing, learning what was popular and using it to start designing her own clothes.

she never thought she was any good, so for a while she stuck to drawing anything she could: fruit, people, nature. anything that didn’t involve clothes, but she always found herself coming back.

in the gossip girl world that was her life, lennon was serena. bubbly, fun, loving to be the center of attention, a party girl. she’d been the other woman a few times, letting herself get close to men quickly without asking questions before it was too late and she ended up hurt. now she sticks to flings, guarding her heart to not show anyone the hopeless romantic underneath.

her last real boyfriend hurt her the worst, hence being the last, but he’s the guy that made her see just how amazing she was at designing clothes. she had some major trust issues now, but still found a way to thank him for letting her realize her potential.

they’d volunteer as a family, give to every charity they could. her parents knew how important it would be to selecting collages for her and her sister and that plus all of lennon’s extra curriculars and grades, it helped her get accepted here.

she quickly found herself blending in with the alpha phi sorority. once she was accepted in as a member she didn’t realize how much the extra sisterhood would provide a comfort to her.

after she graduates her mother wants lennon to sign on and be apart of her business, but even though she’s always loved her mom’s clothes she doesn’t see their visions missing well together. she doesn’t know how to tell her, but she’d rather start something fresh on her own.
