K-Pop Recap Of 2023!
Tagged by: @ambivartence thank you Siyuan 💕
Groups You Started Stanning?: uhh let me think... annnd I forgot everything I did during this year. I didn't start stanning any group in the sense of binge watching videos etc, I started listening to Seventeen more, so maybe I'm slowly starting to stan them 👀 also let me explain, I listened to Finnish music a lot more this year and fell in love with Kuumaa's music (my spotify wrapped was not just kpop this year lool)
New Ult Biases?: Jihyo, she just took a hold on me like girl you're trapped and you have no choice
Idol(s) Who Got The Most Of Your Simping?: Yoongi (obviously), Jungkook, RM, Chan, Jihyo... basically my ults and their groups tbh
Most Streamed Group(s): Twice, Ateez, Stray Kids, BTS, (G)I-DLE, IVE, iKON, Fifty Fifty, Blackpink, SHINee, Le Sserafim, Seventeen, The Rose, NMIXX, Monsta X, NewJeans, Kara (I listened to step so much last year it was a bop and still is)
Most Streamed Soloist(s)?: Agust D, Jin, j-hope, RM, Woosung, Jimin, Jungkook, Kai, Taeyeon, IU, Young K
I took these off my spotify 2023 list so there might be some artists whose one (or two) song(s) I had on repeat lol 👀 italics means I listen to the artist a lot, and not just one song on repeat hehe
Top K-Pop Song(s) Of This Year (Opinion Or Streaming, You Choose): People pt 2 feat IU by Agust D!!!! such a lovely song. the whole album is top tier! especially Amygdala <3 Standing Next To You by JK is also a very good song, honestly speaking I didn't expect JK to debut as a soloist with a full-English album but nevertheless it's a bop. also Queencard, what a power anthem. Set Me Free by Twice! and Jihyo's Killin' Me Good... the list goes on and on
Top Debut This Year: I am so bad getting into new groups akdhshjd so I don't know... besides who debuted in 2023??? my sense of time is so bad and I tend to just cling onto my old faves. recommend me some maybe?
Choreographies You Learned: does it count if you kinda know them in your head?? lol I had an idea to start learning different chorus choreos by myself but then life and mental struggles happened... maybe this year (she says every year)
Albums/Merchandise You Bought: D-Day by Agust D, Indigo by RM, Me Myself & Suga photofolio, BTS Beyond the Scene book, Shooky pc folder book, Cooky stickers, does SKZ season's greetings count if it's in the mail as I pre-ordered it last year? + BTS Memories of 2021 as it was on discount... my savings are like bye girl it was nice to know you
also I got a Shooky plushie and Suga pcs from a Korean snack box...
New Kpop Mutuals You Made?: I don't think I've made new kpop mutuals this year bc I wasn't that active here but I cherish all my followers, whether mutuals or not ❤️
Tagging: @hansungiee @jcismycopilot @reedskz 💜 and you, the reader, consider yourself tagged if you'd like to do this 🥰

I watched vcha's debut mv and the songs they've released so far (go getter is catchy after a second listen but that's it) and I don't understand the strategy behind their direction. I realize that I'm older than what must be their target demographic but even the younger teens that I know wouldn't tune in for this - the lyrics are often too cringey and western audiences have never been that big a fan of cutesy concepts. When people throw a lot of resources at something like this, I always figure they must know something I don't and have some reason to think that this will have broader appeal than I'm seeing, but the title track they put out is just ok. Like it doesn't hurt me to listen to it, but there's nothing interesting about it and I don't see anything that would make it trend-worthy as a way to bring attention to the song. All of the choices behind this group are so confusing and it makes me question the idea of these global groups bc I assume the intention is to appeal to the west but idk who they're listening to when strategizing how to do that
Hi!
Honestly, I've only heard their debut song, but I can't say I understand their strategy either. I thought the song was pretty cringe. I kept thinking maybe pre-teens would like it. Teenage girls like powerful women because that's who they want to be - it's why they like Blackpink and Taylor Swift. Teenagers don't find other teenagers making childish music cool. I like Sneakers, Boys Like You, Teddy Bear, The Feels, etc. so Girls of the Year could grow on me, but fun, cute, and a bit childish kpop is different from the try hard concept they did. I don't know, their aim is clearly the West so debuting with this is just not it. Those girls aren't Blackpink. I'm not sure who in the West likes that kind of music.
I don't get international groups in general. A lot of people know of kpop now and expect kpop to be made by Asian idols. Introducing international idols and making songs in English does not make a group more GP friendly, just harder to market, since they're not what people expect kpop to be, but they aren't what people like to see in pop either. Kpop stans don't seem very interested in these groups and neither does the West. To be very, very honest, adding white girls to a kpop group makes kpop lose what makes it "exotic" to locals. All groups cater to the West atp, so if a kpop group's entire concept is being kpop, but for the West, that's literally what a lot of groups already do? The idols having different nationalities likely doesn't help much reach those different countries.
I don't know... There's something extremely unappealing and weird to me about international groups, and I don't know if I'm just being a racist Koreaboo or if there's something legitimate there. Just full disclosure. I admit my prejudice.
Thanks for the ask! I agree with you!

Introduction
Nabi masterlist
Lee Nabi: -5th member of Blackpink
-debuted on August 8th, 2016
-Birthday: August 2nd, 1999
-Position: Maknae, Main Vocal, Sub Rapper, Lead Dancer
Tumblr media
About Nabi: -Became a trainee in 2012, debuted in 2016 at the fresh age of 17
- very introverted, easily intimidated and doesn't really speak unless spoken to (though she's gotten better)
- is fluent in English and Korean
- Was born and raised in Canada
- younger cousin (by like 9 hours) of Mark Lee (NCT)
- The Lee Twins laugh in big (you know what I mean)
- Mark and Nabi aren’t twins, but they’re born on the same day so it’s like a fun little joke (their dads are brothers)
- they lived near each other their entire lives, might as well be siblings considering they were always at each others houses
-both auditioned around the same time with different companies because they heard companies don't often debut relatives (they were wrong but what’s done is done)
- Mark and Nabi are best friends, they had to be
- She's surprisingly popular in Canada (and the western market in general)
- Mark and Nabi are considered the "the most dynamic related pair" in modern kpop
- Mark+Nabi+Lily are the “kpop triplets”
- Lily (NCT), Yeri (Red Velvet), Tzuyu (Twice) and Nabi are an iconic quadruple
- Even though there are 4 of them, they’re nicknamed the “big 3″ since they’re all from one of the big 3 companies
- Mark is always pushing her out of her comfort zone, being one of the few people she's comfortably mischievous around
- polar opposites though. As kids, Mark was always so talkative and you would often let him talk for you, maybe you faded into the background a bit but you preferred it that way
- fans love to see them interact
- they support each other always. Find someone that promotes their twin better than them
- One of YG's aces (like Mark is SM's), they count their lucky stars they found her first
- Has friends throughout the industry
- loves songwriting, is even accredited on some of Blackpink's songs
- if she has your number, even if you aren't particularly friends, you'll receive a birthday text of some sort and a multitude of congratulations for every accomplishment
- Honestly the sweetest idol you could meet
- find someone with something mean to say about Nabi, I dare you
-she's one of the taller members at 5'6 but Lisa still has a couple of centimetres on her
- All the Blackpink girls have brand ambassadorships, Nabi’s is Prada (like Rosé has YSL) + more individual and group ones
- She might be small, but say something rude about her members and she'll fight you (and probably win)
- loves her sisters with all her heart, they're her family
Relationship with her members: Jisoo: The eldest member, though Blackpink doesn't have an official member Jisoo and Jennie take on most of that responsibility. Even as trainees, Jisoo took the younger (scared and naive) Nabi under her wing and took care of her in a way an older sister would. That's what she was, the older sister you never had. Everyone knows you're quiet, but Jisoo has a way of making you talk like it's the most natural thing in the world. She tends to always circle back during interviews if she feels you had something to say or was cut off earlier. Jisoo always makes sure you get your say. Nabi feels safe around Jisoo, comfortable like she could do anything. Jisoo, being a quieter person naturally too, notices the little things like if you're quieter than usual or stare at yourself just a tad bit too long in the mirror. She always seems to have what you need before you know you need it, like a hug (she gives the best hugs) or a water bottle.
Jennie: Your first became friends as trainees when she offered to help with your rapping if you helped with her dance. People tried to stir up some sort of competition between you two because of your friendship but neither of you really understood why. Those rumours died down pretty fast after. Jennie thinks of you as her little baby (like Jisoo does) and always makes sure you eat and drink properly. She makes her affection known, through hand-holding and other physical connections. Jennie always lets you know how pretty you look when you start to doubt it, your biggest hype woman. The fans like to notice that Jennie always has a hand on you in public like she knows you're internally freaking out and is there for moral support.
Rosè: The two of you have been best friends since the second you met. You both bonded over the fact you had accents, were so far from home, had the same birthday, and the fact singing was both your main passions. Unlike Jisoo and Jennie, she doesn't feel the need to watch over you so intently, but she never lets you forget that you're the maknae and always has an eye out. Rosè is the best friend you could ask for, honestly, if you didn't know who either was you'd assume they were sisters. Rosè is naturally very touchy-feely with people she's comfortable with, and you often bear the brunt of her cute clingy personality (not that you mind, Rosè is one of your favourite people on the planet.) Fans like to notice that the two of you occasionally link pinkies, for no other reason than to hold each other.
Lisa: She's a little dance machine. You met her as a trainee and was honestly a little intimidated by her extroverted personality and confidence, but once you got to know her you became two peas in a pod. Like Rosè she doesn't feel the need to watch over you, feeling as though having Jennie and Jisoo is overbearing enough. Lisa is the one that pulls you out of your comfort zone the most, always inviting you to hang out with new people (which is how you made so many friends) and always circling back to you on interviews and making you talk. She doesn't make you uncomfortable, not by any means, but Lisa always knows how much to pull without freaking you out. As trainees, Lisa had to learn Korean, and with Nabi's help, is now fluent. They became close through learning the language, there were many late nights spent together as you both brushed up on the new language.
Together: - What Nabi doesn't have in extroverted prowess and talkative traits, she makes up for with heart - Maknae on top, those four girls will praise Nabi to the ends of the world and kiss every booboo better - Rosè, Lisa, and Nabi make up the maknae line and as the Gen Z members, are unlawfully chaotic -sometimes Jisoo and Jennie have to separate the three of you in interviews because one look can cause a laughing fit that can go on for hours - Nabi, like Jisoo, notices the little things, she's quite meticulous actually - You're the first to know any secret, and the girls find it easy to confide in you because you always have an ear out for them - nothing they have ever told you have gotten out - when they're upset, sometimes all they want is a warm hug from Nabi - find someone that promotes Blackpink better than Nabi - When the girls have their own individual solo activities, find someone that promotes them better than Nabi. - you all support each other through everything -you're family, sisters, what else can you say?
Housing situation: - the five of you had lived in dorms for nearly 10 years together, some of those dorms had been pretty horrifying and you all decided enough was enough - once you all gained some success you decided to move out comfortably - all of your apartments are nearby - often though, you find yourself spending more time at one of their homes instead of your own - sometimes you'll ever sleepover with one of them - the five of you will raid each other's closest comfortably. At this point, nobody is sure of what they bought or what they took.

Hi again Muse, how are you? I'm sorry to hear about your neck, I hope it isn't bothering you as much now. Onto the main topic, I've always been confused about this, what are dance lines? What are body lines? I see these terms in kpop a lot but idk what they are apart from the basic semantics of what the idea is about, are the terms a different way of talking about arms and legs when you dance or when you look at someone's body proportions?
It's all better now, thanks!
You're correct mostly. I think the different words come from the way that Koreans use English. There are many terms they've made up using English words but the meaning of the term is not consistent with the original meaning of the words in English. And example of this is when they ask if members have any "episodes", but really they mean "funny or interesting stories".
As for dance lines, the only meaning I know is the same thing that is meant by the vocal line or maknae line of a kpop group. In this case "line" being short for lineup. For example, BTS have a "rap line", which means all the members in the group who focus primarily on rapping- RM, Suga and J-Hope. Not that they don't dance or sing but their primary role is rapping. Then the BTS "dance line" would be made up of the main and lead dancers - J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook (traditionally. At some point V got added as a lead dancer like 6 years after they debuted but I'm old so to me the dance line is the original one).
Body line is something else though. Here "line" means silhouette, body shape. I think this is more commonly used when talking about female idols, where things like muscles or muscle definition aren't as discussed as they are for male idols but rather it's the female idol's overall body shape.
For example, an "S line" would mean having a figure that is curvy, like an S. If you imagine looking at a female idol from the side, the curves from their chest, waist and butt forms an S, like this:
Tumblr media
An S line pretty much means you have boobs, a flat stomach and thin waist and a nice ass. An example of someone who does not have an S line like Momo from TWICE but rather more an X line is Lisa from Blackpink. She's very athletic but very slim, she doesn't have much of a chest or butt and her shoulders are sharp and square, but she does have a slim waist. So in her case, when you look at her from the side you would not see much of an S line. However, if you're looking at her from the front, you will see an X line:
Tumblr media
Then someone who has not much difference between their shoulders, waist and hips and has more of a flat bust and butt would have a straight or boxy body line. Not an S, not an X or a V (V is more characteristic of male idols with broad shoulders, slim waist and slim hips). And example of a straight or boxy line is SNSD Tiffany:
Tumblr media
There's an almost straight line from her shoulder to her hips. She doesn't have curves anywhere really, but she is beautiful and lovely as well (and badass, I love her solo song Run For Your Life).
This is more or less my understanding of the subject, I hope I clarified at least a little bit.

How Are You?
Idol: Kim Jisoo (Blackpink)
Forced into facing her past, Jisoo knows she promised to let you breathe. But fate had other plans for both of you that it just wouldn’t let her rest until it was satisfied with what it wanted.
A sequel to Hope Not
Tumblr media
☕buy me a coffee☕
Jisoo sat stiffly at the side, watching as her members happily spoke to the production team and listened to the presentation when it began, each girls showing looks of determination and excitement as the time passed by.
But the eldest of the four couldn’t seem to relax or tear her eyes away from the person that sat a few seats ahead of her. The same person who currently had the maknae’s hand in their own and explaining the draft of the concept they had for the girls' new album.
After two long years of no communication, she found herself sitting in the same practice room, the exact practice room where she had broken your heart without remorse and lost all the love and support that she’s ever wanted and needed.
“So, if you girls have any questions or suggestions, Y/n and I are available whenever you need us.” Teddy explained after he wrapped up the presentation. “You already know my rules, but since Y/n is new to the team, I want you to get used to her when working. I know you’re friends but during work hours, be professional, got it?”
“We know, oppa. No need to tell us that.“ You waved the man off with a playful roll of your eyes, causing Jennie to giggle and Lisa to grin while Chaeyoung gave you an amused look.
Being someone who worked in the company for so long, it made sense that you were well acquainted with most of the people working in YG, and those who were new would eventually learn about you and, one way or another, you would befriend them as well.
It was the reason you had gotten so popular despite being a new producer. Artists and producers who have worked with you have nothing but nice words when it came to you that everyone eventually learned your name a little after your breakup with Jisoo.
When news of you finally becoming an official producer came out, people were ecstatic and many artist have shared the same sentiments in wanting to get the chance to work with you.
“I was just saying. I know you girls get into a lot of trouble when you want to.” Teddy stated and Lisa gasped in mock offense. “What are you looking at me like that for?” She yelled, making you all laugh and Jisoo can’t help the way the sound makes her heart flutter.
“We’ll behave. Don’t worry.”
“Be sure of that, L/n. This is your first big project, so be serious.” Jisoo catches the slight twitch of your lips before you were forcing a smile and nodding your head. “You got it, boss.”
When they’re done for the day and back at the dorm, Jisoo heads to her room and collapses on the bed, exhausted after the mental rollercoaster she had been on.
Seeing you again, all smiles and carefree as ever had sent her back to when you were happy together. She remembers waking up to your sleeping face or a cute little message when you didn’t spend the night together. Being able to be so close yet so far was such a torturous thing, she thinks.
She had to work with you despite your past, but it looked like her presence no longer bothered you, so she’s unsure how to approach because it was clear that she really wasn’t over you.
“You okay, unnie?” Jennie’s voice reached her ears, and as she looked over, she spots the younger girl standing at her doorway. When she’s allowed further into the room, Jennie makes her way to the bed and lays next to her, hugging Jisoo in a comforting manner whilst the older girl let out a sigh.
They’re quiet for a moment until Jisoo’s voice penetrates the silence. “She looked great today.” Jennie hums in agreement, knowing full well that this was something the other needed to let out. “She seemed happier. I’m glad her and Lisa are able to talk like they used to.”
Another round of silence before Jennie hears the hesitant question falling from the older woman’s lips.
“Do you think we could ever be friends again?”
And with the past they’ve had, Jennie answers her the only way she knows without lying. “I don’t think it’s impossible, but you’re going to have to show some effort.”
..
Effort.
The word rings in Jisoo’s head time and again when she sees you at work or in the company in general.
It was the one thing she lacked when it came to you and the sole reason of why she had lost you in the first place. While she put effort in everything else that she did, it seemed that her work put her personal life aside.
But with this new album and having you as their producer, she wants to think that she could make it work this time around, even if the outcome of it is different compared to when she first approached you.
“Jisoo?”
The call of her name snaps her out of her thoughts and she looks up to meet your kind eyes directed at her and her heart skips a beat since this has been the first time she was able to make direct eye contact with you over the past years.
You offer her a small smile, almost as if you never resented her in the first place, which you never really did. Even with all the heartache, she’s been a part of your life and you were still thankful for her.
“Sorry, what was that?” She asks carefully, embarrassed that she had been caught spacing out, but you shake your head in assurance before gesturing to the recording booth. “It’s your turn.” You inform her and the woman nodded her head before scrambling to her feet and making her way over.
Chaeyoung casts her a worried look, but she merely smiles before shutting the door behind her.
Setting the papers on the stand, she goes through it one more time before she hears your voice from the speakers. “Just give me the signal once you’re ready, alright?” Sucking in a deep breath, the woman shuts her eyes for a brief moment before she opened them again and gave you the thumbs up.
Working with you wasn’t as awkward as she thought it would be. The only awkward thing was on her part, because she often stumbles over her words when she’s around you and she realizes how distracted she is when you’re in her peripherals.
But you’re patient enough in doing this with her and the girls.
When Teddy said to separate your personal life with your professional life, she’s envious on how well you can detach yourself from everything when you’re working.
But then again, she realizes that she’s the cause of that as well.
This was her firsthand experience of the change she’s instilled in you from the breakup and she feels her stomach churn as she watches you work. So, she tries to do the same in hopes of distracting herself from that guilt and focuses on the album instead.
..
“You need to let up. They’re a Kpop group, Teddy, in case you’ve forgotten.” Jisoo pauses right outside the room when she hears your voice coming from inside. “I know that, but the girls’ popularity is bigger outside of Korea. It’s going to help boost that.”
“I know, but to only give them english songs?”
“Look, I know that you’re worried about Jisoo, but she can handle it.”
The sound of her name causes her brows to pinch together as she listens to the two of you continue. “I know that she can handle it, but you have to understand that she still struggles with it, too! And then what? You’re barely going to let her sing?”
“What we can’t give Jisoo in lines, we can always make up in the video.” Teddy tells you, but it wasn’t enough to calm you down. “Jisoo is a part of Blackpink, Teddy! She isn’t there just for display! You’re wasting her talents because all you think about is making your selfish vision instead of letting them properly grow!”
“In case you’ve forgotten, I’m in charge of this project. If you step out of line, I can have you out of here and you can forget about working with any big artist out there.” Jisoo’s heart sinks as she holds her breath, fists clenched tightly as she hears what’s going on.
“If getting rid of me is what it takes to give her proper recognition, then by all means.” She hears footsteps coming closer and Jisoo quickly straightens before she took a few more steps back. But she was still close enough to hear your voice just as the door opened.
“And by the way, I don’t need your help to work with other artists, Teddy. You were the one who asked me because you wanted people to see you with a good image.”
Slamming the door shut, you let out a huff before moving to leave, only for your eyes to land on the woman standing only five feet away from where you stood.
“Jisoo, what are y- did you just get here?” You ask her and she sees the anxiety and frustration swimming in your eyes after what just transpired.
“Are you leaving?” She asks softly and your face falls when you realize that she’s heard your conversation with the other producer. “No. I’ve been working here for god knows how long. I’m not going to let someone, who has a stick up their ass, drive me out.” You say with a nonchalant shrug of your shoulders.
Her eyes dart from your face to the door before she closed the distance between you and grabbed your hand, catching you off guard when she runs to the opposite direction of the recording room.
"Hey! Jisoo, wait!"
But your words fall upon deaf ears as the woman leads you all the way up to the company's roof, not at all stopping until you both arrived and the door closed, leaving the two of you alone and away from anyone who could possibly see or hear you.
"Why did you... what was that for?" You panted out while hunching over, gasping as you try to catch your breath and Jisoo does the same.
Truthfully, she wasn't sure why she dragged you all the way up here. All of her thoughts just told her that she should get you as far away from Teddy as possible, even for just that moment. So the first place that came to mind was the roof.
"You were..." She shakes her head before lifting her head to look at you. "Why did you do that?" She asked, and you know what she means already just by looking at her.
You knew her enough to understand what she was asking you, so clearing your throat, you stood properly before looking away. "I just think that you deserve to be treated properly in the group." You admit quietly.
"But you didn't have to."
"I know, but I wanted to. Everyone is asking for you, and they're right. They haven't been giving you the spotlight like they should be, and if-"
"And what about you?"
Her heart was beating a mile a minute as the words came out of her mouth. She wasn't thinking, but it was just her longing to find out that maybe, in some weird way, you still thought about her like she did you.
You're quiet as you refuse to look at her face, your thoughts being a mess as you cross your arms over your chest in an attempt to make yourself seem small that Jisoo absolutely hates it.
"What about me?"
She sucks in a deep breath because it was now or never - make or break. "What do you think about me?"
Again, you take a while to properly gather your thoughts and Jisoo stays watching you, waiting for you to finally talk to her outside of work.
"I think you deserve more."
Jisoo doesn't speak when she sees that there's more you want to say. Running your fingers through your hair, you let out a deep breath. "They're working you to the bone, but they don't give you enough credit. You have talent oozing out of you, but they're keeping it under wraps for reasons I don't know!"
While you were so busy letting everything out, you don't notice as Jisoo takes small and slow steps toward you.
"It's just... it baffles me. They talk about giving you everything, but they don't give you everything. And it just hurts to see you be pushed aside and-"
With a gentle hand, Jisoo caresses your cheek when you choke up. Tears of frustration had subconsciously fallen from your eyes and she takes you into her arms when you release a shaky breath.
"You're getting so worked up over nothing, Y/n. This isn't anything new." But you shake your head roughly when you pull away to look at her. "That's my point! It shouldn't even be normal, because they should have been fair to you from the very start."
The idol fixes you with a stare before she asks, “Why do you care?”
Your stare right back at the girl for a few seconds before you let out a scoff. “Just because we broke up doesn’t mean I stopped caring about you.” You tell her while wiping your cheeks. “Yeah, I was hurt and it sucked, but you were dealing with things completely different from me. The way you cope is completely different from mine.”
“But the way I love you has always been the same way you loved me back.” She counters, and this time you’re stunned while she licks her lips and inhales sharply.
“I know I never showed it, but Y/n, I have never once stopped loving you. You mean the absolute world to me-”
“Stop.”
“No. I want you to hear this.” She’s firm with the way she speaks, eyes hard and you can tell that she would not be backing out of this. “Yes, I said everything in present tense because... goddamit, I’m still in love with you! I thought I could leave everything behind because you obviously did, but then we started working together and I get to see you every day and I just... I’m sorry.”
“I’m so sorry that I never showed you enough how much I love you. I’m sorry I took you for granted. And I’m sorry that I hurt you.”
Your expression softens as the woman before you crumbles into a vulnerable mess. You know that Jisoo was never one to cry, but seeing her now with tears freely streaming down her cheeks, you can’t help but feel sad at seeing the usually peppy woman in such a state.
“Jisoo... I already forgave you, even before I left that night. It hurt, it really did, but I understood and you made me understand that not everyone is going to give the same treatment we all give. In the world we live in, people are selfish, but I know deep down that you aren’t.”
You lift your hand up to her face, pausing to get a proper look at her, before sighing as you wipe her tears away. “I’m not telling you that we can pick up where we left off, but we could always start again.”
Your words cause her ears to perk up and her eyes widen. “W-What?”
With a smile, you pull back after making sure her face is free of tears. “I guess if time isn’t such a bitch, we could do things right, don’t you think?”
“I could work with that.” She breathes out, a smile finally beginning on her face when you offer her a hand. “So, how about we start by getting to work?” You ask teasingly and Jisoo rolls her eyes after giving you a shove, but she takes your hand afterwards.
“Am I supposed to watch out for Lisa though?” She asks playfully and you look at her from the corner of your eyes, chuckling as you shrug your shoulders. “I mean, who knows? She is cute and has a great sense of humor.”
“You’re such a player!” She laughs while you walk down the halls and back to the recording room, your own laughter joining in at the little joke.
But even with how everything went, Jisoo could tell that she put a lot more effort, both in this album and the relationship she’s trying to recover, whether it was just a friendship or more.
Because at the end of it all, you were alright. And that was what mattered.

This gremlin knows what Homestuck is and can’t stand the fact that he understands the references Toga makes to it. Also possibly one of the few who has actually read homestuck on this list, and won’t hesitate to correct Toga or Shigaraki if they fuck up a fact.
He also really is into The Walking Dead. You can’t tell me that Kurogiri doesn’t have a TV set up somewhere in the bar so he and Shigaraki can sit and watch. This does end up with the majority of the league having a once a week get together where Jin gets Pizza, Toga gets several boxes of soda for them, and Shigaraki sets up everything.
Denki Kaminari
Tumblr media
This bitch was into homestuck. Like he wasn’t just into homestuck, he was INTO homestuck. Most likely one of those kids that used to jump on Omegle in a shitty cosplay for those homestuck Omegle cosplay meets the fandom used to do. He also totally has a genderbent Nepeta cosplay, a Dave strider cosplay, and a Jake cosplay SOMEWHERE. Most likely to accidentally wear a homestuck shirt to class.
Never once picked up a Harry Potter book or watched the movie, but you know this kid has a hufflepuff robe in his closet and some hufflepuff merch. He doesn’t know shit about the actual canon since he is just there to vibe
Really into Kpop. BTS, Blackpink, ITZY, EXO, Ikon, BlockB, BigBang minus Seungri cause he is icky, SuperJunior, NCT, WINNER, Got7, Red Velvet, (F)x, and more. Like you can’t tell me this guy doesn’t listen to girl groups and shit like BTS. (His bias has to be J-hope) He also bops with Mina the most. These two also most likely post dance covers of the songs to instagram and TikTok, so they have quite the following. (But their best video was their “Boy In love” cover they did with Kirishima, Deku, Shoto,Jirou, Momo, and Bakugo.)
This kid was also into Five nights at Freddy. He owns all of the games and will still play them with the Bakusquad, but he is pretty quiet about this fandom just because of how BULLIED he was for enjoying it.
LOVES Danganronpa too. Bakusquad do a weekly game night and they all went through all of the games. Let’s just say Denki cried a LOT at the deaths. Like a lot. (He may have a few cosplays of his own too)
Eijiro Kirishima
Tumblr media
Kirishima liked Supernatural just because of how manly Sam and Dean are. Like fuck yeah, he wants a chevy impala too cause it is a beautiful car and wants to know how to protect yourself from shit like demons and angels. He never did much besides watch the show, cry a lot, and try to draw the characters. (Also he had a crush on Dean just cause of how badass and manly he is, but nobody can blame him)
He totally sat and watched Denki play Undertale, so he knows all about it. His favorite character is Undyne and he actually cried when they beat her in Genocide mode cause holy shit dude. That sucked. Oh and Sans. Fuck Sans.
He enjoys Kpop and will listen to it with the Bakusquad. He really admires BTS for how much of an impact they have made not only on his friends, but also the world itself and you can’t tell me that this guy doesn’t think the world of Kim Namjoon. Like he listens to Mono on repeat and is such a big RM fanboy. Also really likes Bigbang (He thinks Daesungs voice is so nice and will sleep to his singing if he could), and Kyungsoo is his favorite in Exo. Cried when Bigbang started coming back from the Military, and cried harder when Kyungsoo had to leave.
Danganronpa is a game he really enjoyed with his friends and will even replay from time to time. He gravitates towards the really manly characters, but some others have spots in his heart. Mondo, Sakura, Gundham, Nekomaru, Kaito, and Gonta were his favorites. Let’s just say the game didn’t treat him well.
Fumikage Tokoyami
Tumblr media
He ended up picking up the Harry Potter books and fell in love with the world itself. You can’t tell me this guy doesn't have a limited edition trunk set of the books hidden in plain sight. Like everyone thinks that the trunk holds something like crystals or some bones or knives but nah. It’s just his Harry potter books. Oh and Midnight totally gave him a Ravenclaw scarf around the holidays. You can’t tell me otherwise.
Death note? Death note. Only to episode 25 though. 25 happened and he just hasn’t continued watching cause it isn’t the fucking same.
Hitoshi Shinsou
Tumblr media
Shinsou liked Supernatural for a while, but he eventually lost interest. He did his best to also never get involved with much of the fandom since it honestly scared him a bit, but his fear didn’t stop him from posting some theories into discussion boards.
He listens to Kpop a bit since he hangs out with Denki a lot and found out he really enjoys Ikon, BlockB, BTS,
Bitch was in the Creepypasta Fandom. Like not even the good ones, he was into Jeff the killer and Eyeless jack and all of those ones. Sure, he would listen to the others and read the crappy ones, but he had a phase he is mildly ashamed of now.
This kid loves everything relating to Stephen King. He will have conversations with Aizawa and Hizashi about the books, and they all agree that Kings writing can rather be extremely amazing, or be the equivalent of a 13 year old attempting to write smut for the first time. It’s so damn funny to him
Hizashi Yamada
Tumblr media
He has read all of the harry potter books and actually enjoys them quite a bit, but he tries not to let that show too much. He does have a Slytherin lanyard that holds his keys though that Denki had mentioned. It managed to get Mic off track for the class period when he started discussing the books with the students (Mainly Izuku, Tokoyami, and Denki)
He watches The walking dead with Aizawa
Actually bops to Kpop after the Bakusquad introduces it to him. Massive RM fanboy so he and Kirishima will occasionally go off about how admirable and badass he is. Like RM taught himself english just from watching Friends??? And Hizashi admires that so much. He also loves diving deeper into their lyrics since they normally have such good meanings.
Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
Oh he loves Harry potter so damn much. He has the books on his shelf, a Gryffindor robe in his closet, a full uniform, and several wands. He is such a nerd so you can’t tell me he doesn’t have a special notebook that has notes on the spells, character analysis, and a variety of different facts.
Really enjoys listening to BTS! He doesn’t know much about other kpop groups, but he really enjoys dancing with Mina and Denki (even if Izuku has 2 left feet and struggles with dancing)
Had a Dragonball phase. Like this kid loVEs Dragonball. It’s actually one of the reasons why he and Katsuki grew to be friends since they both watched the show. They would talk about how they would beat Frieza or the Ginyu squad all of the time.
Katsuki Bakugo
Tumblr media
This bastard finds himself actually enjoying Kpop after Mina and Denki go off about their favorite bands, and he really finds himself enjoying BTS, Day6, and SHINee.
Danganronpa was a game he experienced with his friends and FUCK was it an adventure for him. He got really invested with the story and for a while, the Bakusquad chat was active as hell because of all of the theories he had. He fucking HATED Byakuya, actually shed some tears for Fuyuhikos’ character development and Gundhams death, and was about to throw hands during the 4th chapter of V3. It was a Rollercoaster of emotions, but he loved every moment of it.
This kid had a Dragonball Z phase. No shit he would wake up, watch an episode of Goku screaming, and then go out to play. Honestly this routine started when he was 5 and he will still occasionally watch it. He still loves Dragonball, and he totally has a collection of dragonballs somewhere.
After Shoto and Momo watch Rupauls Drag race in the Common room, He gets hooked. His dad is a fashion designer, so he finds himself really enjoying the fashion aspect of the show as well as the makeup part of it all. He actually does Minas’ makeup occasionally and once people start finding out, he becomes their makeup artist. The girls makeup, and occasionally he will do drag makeup on the guys if they ask. Sometimes the Drag viewing parties start by Bakugo doing everyones makeup and then ordering Pizza.
Mina Ashido
Tumblr media
Mina fucking loves to dance and everybody knows that, so it’s no surprise that she manages to nail every damn Kpop she does. She really loves the variety of dances and she can match every vibe. A dance in heels? Shes got it. Hip hop? Oh hell yeah. Cute? Sure! Badass? Shes got this. She is really just a bop.
Danganronpa was an EXPERIENCE for her. She absolutely adored the cases that needed to be solved, cried at the characters, and adored the game. She totally cosplayed Tsumugi with Cospox once or twice with Denki just for giggles sake.
Totally was heads over heels for Ouran Highschool Host club. She thought the anime was so damn precious (She adores Hikaru) and was so sad that there hasn’t been a 2nd season, so she bought all of the manga.
Momo Yaoyorozu
Tumblr media
She is a Kpop fan! She totally could be an idol since she can sing pretty well, has the face for it, can dance pretty well! Her favorite thing is rapping though. You can’t say that Momo wouldn’t be able to write some bad bitch raps and pull them off with ease. With her, Mina, Jirou, and Ochaco, they make one HELL of a Girl Group. They love to do covers of Blackpink, Red Velvet, CherryBullet, ITZY, and Mamamoo covers. Her biases have to be Jennie, Irene and Moonbyul.
Tamaki Amajiki
Tumblr media
Flipped through homestuck when it started, really never got into it but admired the work people put into their cosplays. Knows basic character names and that buckets should be feared.
He actually used to really like My little Pony! He would NEVER call himself a brony, but he really enjoyed the show. He only watched a couple of seasons, but the show itself was pretty relaxing and managed to calm him down when he was feeling anxious. If anybody ever knew he had a my little pony phase though (And still actually will watch it from time to time) he might just die from embarrassment.
Want to play Legend of Zelda? Well Tamaki is your guy to talk to about it. He might start rambling and will completely forget about his anxiety for a moment before realizing how nerdy he sounds. He has a gamecube in his dorm to play Twilight princess and Ocarina of time, He has a Wii for Skyward sword, and god did this kid lock himself in his room when breath of the wild came out. He can speedrun it like none other (Seriously, if he let’s you watch him, you will be fucking surprised by how amazing he is.)
Gotta throw in Teen Titans. Seeing Beast boy use his power in so many badass ways gave him some pretty cool ideas for his own quirk.
Oh and Rupauls Drag race. Nobody would expect him to be a fan of drag race, but he actually does enjoy watching the goofy drama. If you’re dating, you better expect weekly Drag race with him. It’s pretty funny to watch him enjoy the show. Sometimes he gasps, laughs or bites his lip, eyes hooked to the screen.
Shoto Todoroki
Tumblr media
Another motherfucker who could EASILY be an Idol if he wanted to be. He actually really enjoys Kpop after Momo introduced it to him. They both often bop to it together when they study or hang out. He is also most likely to be the one recording the dancing videos or editing them too since he really enjoys helping out the girls.
Want to watch him nerd out? Watch the classic Godzilla movies with him. Like HOLY SHIT does this man love the 50s-70s Godzilla movies. Bring him a box set and he will rather hug you really tight or run to grab blankets from his room cause this dude ADORES these movies. (Especially the mothra one. Like he will cling to you, thank you over and over again, and watch them with almost childlike glee.)
This bitch bops with Rupauls Drag race. He really enjoys makeup and has debated on trying drag himself (Not that anybody would know that) but it’s kind of shocking to see that he is the one that started the Weekly Rupauls Drag Race viewing in the UA Dorms.
Yugi Aoyama
Tumblr media
His mother used to read Harry Potter to him to help him sleep when he was a child so he naturally knows a lot about it. He knows he is a Slytherin and when Izuku thought about it, it made sense. He is pretty arrogant and wants to impress with his upbringing and french lineage. He also makes it pretty hard to get to know him personally, so Izuku makes a note that he is a Slytherin.
Likes Kpop, but isn’t SUPER into it like Denki or Mina. He likes listening to BTS and Exo and his Biases are Seokjin and Chanyeol.

KPOP IDOL LIFE READING.
Disclaimer: Do not take this as fact. I am not a professional tarot reader nor does tarot control the future. This reading is only meant for fun and entertainment purposes.
REQUESTED: @indigolakes
I'm sorry, it won't let me tag you.
REQUESTS ARE OPEN!
Audition.
You will audition with singing but I feel like your visuals will be the reason you pass, or at least one of the reasons.
I get the feeling that you'll probably sing a girl group song, BLACKPINK or MAMAMOO, I'm feeling. Possibly Aespa.
Trainee Life.
As a trainee, I feel that you would be seen as a uniquely talented person. You'd probably stand out during training sessions and monthly evaluations.
I think you might attend University or have a job on the side, possibly as an English tutor/teacher. You'll be looking for direction in life, sort of questioning if you really want to do this.
Debut.
I feel like, you'll debut after a sunbaenim group of yours disbands or goes on hiatus and their legacy will be passed down to you and your group and you all would be expected to carry it on, sort of thing.
You'd debut with a three track single album, along with a popular concept among girl groups, I'm feeling girl crush or high energy.
Your positions, I'm feeling leader, lead dancer, lead vocalist and face of the group.
REMEMBER: even if you don't think you're good enough for the positions now, you could easily learn to be.
I'm getting SM Entertainment, 6-8 members but I feel like you will also promote as a duo with one of your members.
Relationships With Other Idols.
Friends: I feel that you will be friends with Jisoo (BLACKPINK), Tzuyu (TWICE) and Mingyu (SEVENTEEN). Now, it may seem that I'm just listing off popular idols but I'm not, the cards did indicate these people. I also thought of Jisoo immediately after I read your ask.
Partner: YOU WILL DEFINITELY DATE AN IDOL. THE STAR CARD CAME OUT! Okay, so, along with the star card, we go the king of cups. So, definitely a water sign. Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. My brain immediately went to NCT's Taeyong but let me just look into this a bit more.
This person is introverted, possibly a Virgo
This person is foreign to you ethnicity wise, so if you're Korean, this person isn't Korean. If you're not Korean, this person may be Korean.
This person is very famous. I feel like they went to university, as well or are currently going. My brain went to RM, as well. I feel like you will meet this person through a collaboration, you may also originally see them as your mentor, so you may be under the same company as them or they will be someone you idolise and that inspires/inspired you.
Now, when it comes to if these things will happen, that's up to you. I can't force you to decide and just because tarot says you'll do something doesn't mean you won't deft the universe and refuse. Try for it, if you want it.

please let me join the dance conversation since it's the form of art i am actually the most interested in. i've been dancing as a kid for 6 years, and i don't mean to say that that gave me any type of authority in the domain, but it did leave me with the slight ability to recognize a good performance (or whatever makes a good performance to me, personally) and a great appreciation for valueing dancing as acting, like you said. too often i've seen dance ranking videos from actual life-long dancers who value technical skill above anything else. even if they take into consideration the facial expressions, it doesn't hold much weight and that always lowkey pissed me off. because when i am watching a performance, i care way more about the emotional delivery rather than the technical one. of course, this is not to disregard skill, because emotion without skill just ends up messy. good enough to appreciate as a form of authentic self-expression, but still messy, and mess won't make you a good dancer.
i've really enjoyed seeing you say dancing and acting have a mutual component since i've always felt that way too but never knew how to put it in words. two groups that come in mind when thinking about this are blackpink and itzy, i have no idea how familiar you are with them so i'm sorry if the following come across as foreign to you. but i gotta say, regarding bp, i think there's always been discourse over lisa vs rose as the best dancer. technically, everybody knows lisa is miles ahead, and i have to say she has decent stage presence and some pretty nice facial expressions too (taking into consideration how limited bp's concepts have been so far). rose, on the other hand, has a certain style that appeals to a specific audience (which i am not a part of, her lack of body control is so irritating sometimes) but i can see why some would find her charming. i would say her stage presence is decent too, but i can't help but choose lisa over her, and not just because i'm biased. but because in order to be a true dancer, you need the right balance between technique and emotion that gives your performance that star-value and appeal. and let's be real, kpop is really lacking in that "true dancer" department.
another dancing discourse that goes on is in the itzy fandom, where fans are pitting yeji and chaeryeong against each other. their techniques are quite different but they are each very good in their respective style. now, i've seen people call yeji the better "idol dancer" since she has better developed facial expressions, and chaeryeong the better "overall dancer" since people value her technique more. and i'm just like, no. emotion makes or breaks a dancer. everyone can learn technique, but emotion is hard to fake, and when you do, the non-authenticity is very much obvious.
that's why i love san as a dancer. he might not be the most technically skilled, but he is skilled enough to hold his own. and his way of living in the performance, of just letting every feel of the song wash over him and show the audience 110% and more - nothing compares to that, no amount of technicality. stage presence is something you just have, and no matter how much you train for it, you will pale in comparison to a natural.
wow, this is really long so thank you if you take the time to read it all and respond. english is not my first language and sometimes i'm having trouble finding the right words to get my point across exactly how i think of it in my mind, so i hope the message is delivered accurately, haha :D also, i must add i love the way you talk, your speech has a flow and a uniqueness to it you don't find everyday. and we love a developed vocabulary<3 may i ask how old you are?
thank you for the compliment, thats very sweet of you! english is my native language and i have spent just as much time, if not longer doing academics as i have doing performance work so at this point ive developed a very specific style. there’s a joke that theatre design is 90% communication and only 10% design, and it’s not wrong. it helps that i like to talk and my brain works very fast sometimes.
im glad you took the time to write this out! and don't apologize for your english, it's excellent and very clear. you are correct i know very little about blackpink and itzy but i would likely agree with you, dance is equal parts emotion and technique and that is my preference in idols as well. but i don’t think that the kpop industry needs to have ‘true’ dancers, though. yes it is fun to watch those who are technically and charismatically gifted in dance, it is only a portion of the experience that they market. also i think we lose a bit of objectivity in kpop because all idols are required to dance, but i dont think ive seen one recently that's a legitimately bad dancer. even the ‘worst’ dancers that i can think of are still leagues better than the average person on the street, but we see them as ‘bad’ because they work directly alongside peers who are legitimately gifted and have a passion for dance as a form.
it's interesting to hear you say that everyone can learn technique but emotion is hard to fake, because i hear a lot of dancers say that. i think this comes from a misunderstanding of what exactly acting is and how it works. i would argue that a statement closer to the sentiment that you (and many others) are trying to get is ‘not everyone can do both at the same time.’ the average person is no more predisposed to acting then they are to dance, because acting is a skill that can be taught and exercised in the same way dance can. sure, there are people that have a higher latent ability, but if you put in the work, you can learn. why do you think there are acting classes and schools and conservatories? you can get a doctorate in acting if you really want to. the thing about acting is that in order to be good at it, you have to both understand and be able to implement the correct postures for mimicking human emotion. this is an insanely complex task when you get down to the brass tacks of it. just think about your face and body posture for a moment. why are you sitting/standing in that particular way? why is your face in that particular expression? what do you think your posture is saying to someone who is observing you? how would you change it if you wanted the person to start a conversation with you? if you wanted them to leave you alone?
there’s also a general assumption that acting comes from a place of genuine or authentic emotion, and this is the fault of modern ‘method’ film acting. i have a very long thesis about how much i hate method acting and i can make a separate post about that if people are curious. but suffice to say, acting very rarely comes from a ‘genuine’ place. it may be informed from a genuine place, but by nature it is not real. thats what makes it acting. and i think dancers seem to be under the impression that showing emotion while dancing has to come from the dancer personally feeling those emotions, when thats not the case at all. this criminal fancam is a perfect example of exactly how good taemin is at putting on a character for a performance. you can very clearly see him drop character after the main camera cuts, and pretty much any concert footage shows this as well.
now, being able to do both a complex system of physical movements with your body and also control the minute details and timing in your facial muscles and posture? thats pretty fuckin hard. not a lot of people can do that, it takes just as much practice as learning technique does, just not in the way that people might think. but it is possible.

I GOT SO MUCH TO SAYYY!! gosh pls dont find me weird okay, and these are just my personal opinions and im not hating any groups!! but my unpopular opinion is: i think kpop has become very toxic after bts and bp got famous in America. And tbh if you ask me, i wouldnt want any other kpop groups to be famous in America... i only stan exo but i think i speak for all groups when i say they are safe as they are now... of course if exo ever get even more famous i will be happy and proud for their success. But look how fame and America has changed bts and bp... not tryna hate but look theyve changed, idk if anyone else noticed but after fame hits bts, i realised how theyve start to become very...white?? like they are so westernised and like example, they start focusing on America only, they even curse (not a lot but i’d still point out) casually like for example, jungkook singing a curse word in his cover song for jason derulo savage love i think (speaking of cursing, after nct127 got famous in usa mark started getting influenced by them too and he casually cursed like “oh fuck” and everyones like 😃😆) even i curse and im not saying cursing is BADD but yeah i am, and how they sing a whole song in english, not to even mention how toxic america is but in grammys they have sold tons of albums yet they didnt win anything but when they release an english song, they won.
Some half of them americans are very toxic, racist, and just theyre basically acid, like bruh, its evident that once bts got famous there are soooo much hate thrown towards bts too cuz theyre asians, or how some would say theyre gay or look like girls...if my favs (exo) ever get these kinds of treatments (not that they dint but veryy little cuz thank god they ain exposed to the western culture) i will B R E A K, i could never handle that so i would never want that to happen to them. Also noticed how, after bts got famous, most armys are equally as toxic, whether they are just stanning bts just cuz theyre famous there, or like how their fans dont even know anything abt bts and coming after so many groups and their fans. Most of them are fake and i think its cuz of the fame for bts lmao. One thing i’d like to say too tho, is how they are so overrated and their songs are played all the damn time, people would randomly talk abt them, like everywhere you go THEY ARE JUST THERE, like in my opinion if i am an army, i would just feel like they are so common and theres nothing special about them anymore and theres no excitement, like what even is the point anymore. idk if anyone gets me but thats just how i feel about my favs being “wOrLdWiDe fAmOuS”, i will love them and their music but its just something i think about tbh🤷🏻‍♀️ like let me listen to them on my own and vibe and love them, dont play it 24/7 just cuz they are famous and ure tryna get people’s attention, like imagine ure in the subway and u hear ur favs song cuz its EVERYWHERE and ure there like 😐😐 not that u dont love their music but its cuz horrible people dont deserves to listen to their songs, and like people arent going to appreciate them anyway so yeah i feel uncomfortable listening to my favs as others dont even bother, like imagine if that subway is filled with people who are in ur fandom, yall would just hv the best time in the world and VIBE, if not what even is the point. Idk if im explaining it properly, but its badically like, u feeling UNCOMFORTABLE or should i even say SELFISH cuz u do not want to be sharing ur favs with people who dont even deserve to KNOW about them. Basically like seeing how someone you HATE or bullied you back then talking and being all friendly fake with ur BESTEST FRIEND or even boyfriend/girlfriend, cuz u just want to protect them from EVIL (im so dramatic)
And well lastly, no Bts did not paved the way, or “bts is the best and only group” like no, so many amazing artists were breaking records way before bts was even a thing (no hate to bts) but they really need to get slap for having that mindset, they really make a bad image for bts...tbh kpop before was so peaceful (a little toxic but still, compared to now...BYE) and everything was just about idols and fans love, listening and supporting and loving their music and just so comforting... urgh anyway thats all i wanna say and here are some texts i saved relating to kpop groups going famous worldwide uwu
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these are also examples, and honestly speaking here, i dont want to be specific as in “exo” cuz i think this happens for ALL the groups out there and the love and relationship between the idols and their fans (family) are just beautiful, but for bts and armys... tbh i feel bad because i just dont see or feel any love they hv for each other (sure we see bts saying i love you armys or armys supporting bts but with all the toxicity in their way, theres just no spark or chemistry or bond no more it’s basically like one direction and their fans and thats all they are, celebrity-fan, but for kpop its family), i can see other groups and their fans interacting or how idols would light up talking abt their fans, but for bts, theres just soooo much mess going on in their fandom its not special anymore, they lost the deep meaning of their group love and IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT but YEAH DJSHSKSJ OH and to add somethign else, they got famous in America, look at all the collabs🤡🤡 blackpink with cardi b, bts with nicki etc... not that collabs arent fun... im just saying these american artists... they dont exactly have a good reputation (americans singing about sex (not the good kind), money, girls and drugs) 🥴🥴 dont influenced my faves and let them be exposed to the toxic culture YALL GET ME?? KPOP HAS THE LETTER K FOR A REASON😭😭😭 let them be their own shining star, not everything has to be involved or a part of aMeRiCa to be amazing.... PHEW IVE SAID IT NOW BEFORE ANYONE GETS MAD AT ME, I DONT MEAN TO SOUND RUDE TO YOU, if youre an american and youre no where near being toxic, I LOVE YOU but im just saying, the western culture is toxic and im just saying what ive been observing and noticing🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️ ps: i still love exo till the max and everything about them is perfect and theyre just amazing people (everything i said that bts and armys dont really have anymore, i think thankfully, EXO (sorry im biased) most fandoms still have so much of the L O V E there and i find that extraordinary) and he fandom is so comforting and amazing and idk dkdjjdjss thats why i dont want them getting famous worldwide...sorry exols ANYWAY THATS ALL FOR MY RANT ITS 4AM AND I AM THINKING OF DELETING THIS💀💀💀 anywya sorry for taking up so much space but i just wanna say I FREKAING LOVE NO EXIT, NO LIMITS, basically all ur exo fics cuz why not🥺🥺 i think ur writing skills are amazing as well as the plots and all especially forsaken, and THANK YOU for two bbhxoc fics😭😭😭 i cant!!! also if u reached here idk i-🥲 i hope u didnt get mad or offended 👀

Reply under the cut!!
Kpop has become extremely toxic with the growth of international fans and the rise of 3rd/4th gen. I wasn't around to experience the previous generations, but I know damn well they weren't a mess like these newer ones are.
Gaining fame in America does seem to change idols, and idk why. The group members change and the music changes also. While I do enjoy hearing idols swear (guilty pleasure) and I am an American so I get to enjoy their English songs, I can see how it makes all the other cultures/countries feel some type of way.
I will say this, though, the Grammys are shit and I dont get why people care so much about them. They've proven time and time again the awards don't go to the best artists. However, this doesn't mean that I think BTS deserved a Grammy imo.
Americans are a very toxic and hate filled bunch (again, I am one, so I get to see this shit every day). I 100% know that some of the hate directed towards Asians is because of racism (as seen by the insane uptick in crime against Asian Americans right now) and because some see kpop male idols as too feminine.
BTS is literally everywhere, which is one of the reasons I stopped listening to them tbh. They'd be in commercials, on talk shows, late night shows, in magazines, on the radio, just everywhere. It took the joy out of watching anything from them just because they were always in my face, so I can see what you mean.
I feel like the relationship between BTS and army has changed (from an outsiders perspective). Its no longer about loving and supporting your group and being happy for them. Now, its "so-so wants this? We MUST do everything in our power and spam every possible thing ever so they get what they want". Its almost frightening. They also no longer care about the quality of the music being put out. Doesn't matter what it is, they stream the ever loving shit out of it and make it break records when, honestly, it doesn't deserve to (again imo).
Lastly, I didnt get mad or offended haha. I understand a lot of these viewpoints, and thank you so much for liking my work!! I do wonder what would happen if I made a true BBH centric fic and not just spin offs or continuations of previous works where oc ends up with BBH 🤔🤔 I think that fic would have too much power haha.

Just Another Rant
Okay, so why do NCTzens have a hate boner for Taeyong??? It's so f*cking weird, it doesn't make sense.
Taeyong has been under NCTzens' microscope since his debut. Everything he does is dissected and twisted into something its not. No other member of NCT or any group (except maybe Jennie from Blackpink) is treated this way by the group's fans. NCTzens want Taeyong to be the villain so bad, that they're willing to stoop as low as dehumanizing, body shaming and wishing d3ath on him. NCTzens dislike him, some even hate him and they're not very subtle about it.
Now, I'm not saying all NCTzens are TY antis. I have moots on Twitter who dont stan him, but are incredibly respectful towards him and acknowledge his talents and hardwork. If you're one of them, then this rant is not about you. But i will say this, if it isnt all NCTzens who anti Taeyong, it's most of them.
It started with Lines and Screentime distribution for NCT songs and mvs. Now, i agree that Taeyong used to get a little more lines and screentime than the others at first. But instead of calling out SM, most of you targeted Taeyong saying he deliberately stole the said lines and screentime from his members so that he'd get to shine more..... Really???
Next, when he was announced as a member of SuperM, NCTzens were clearly upset it wasn't Johhny or Jaehyun. Do you wanna know why??? No, they didnt talk about talent. Instead, they wanted Jaehyun/Johhny instead of Taeyong because SuperM is a group targeted at the western audience and Jn & Jh knew to speak English better than TY..... Okay.
And it keeps getting worse.
-NCTzens saying that TY goes into the recording studio to record his solo songs, by LOCKING OUT the rest of NCT, so that they wont get to record their solo stuff.
-That TY is SM's Golden Boy cuz he 'gETs a LoT of SoLO pRoMos anD cENter TiMe', completely refusing to understand what 'SOLO PROMO' means or see how overworked and mistreated he is by his own company.
-When TyongFs praise TY about anything, NCTzens always, ALWAYS insert their faves in the post. Like, go make your own post maybe???
/Trigger Content
-NCTzens saying that TY dances like he has a sq*irrel in his pants, raps like d*g, looks like a skeleton etc etc. And these are just mild stuff i mentioned here. NCTzens are so much worse when it comes to body shaming and dehumanizing him. And when we call them out for it, thay have the audacity to say that its a JOKE and we're STUPID for not having 'A Sense of Humor'....
/End of Trigger Content
-NCTzens saying that TY's main dancer/main rapper/main visual/leader/center positions should go to their faves cuz their fave 'iS So mUcH beTTeR aT TheSe pOsiTIOns'. Yeah.... sure..... NCTzens rarely talk about the positions other members have , but are really obsessed with Taeyong's.
-NCTzens still denying that Taeyong is NCT's leader and that he's really good at it. Just yesterday, a Wayzennie (also a TY anti) started spewing sh*t about Taeyong's leadership. And their arguement??? That they have 'lEAdeRsHiP eXpEriEncE iN UnI, WoRk aND ouTsIDe wOrK' and that makes them an expert about leading a 23 member global kpop group, who had a rough start what with their controversial 'unlimited' concept and experimental songs. Sure, Jan.
(Also, the thing where some Wayzennies are still not accepting that TY is the leader of whole of NCT, cuz Kun is WayV's leader..... Seriously, though its not that hard to understand. Kun IS and WILL remain the leader of WayV, a 7 member group. That's a fact. But when the subunits (127, Dream and WayV) come together for projects (ex: NCT 2018 and NCT 2020), Taeyong becomes the overall leader. But since these Wayzennies are still on their WayV not being part of NCT agenda, they're simply ignore this. Go figure.)
- Oh, but when some other member in NCT messes up, it suddenly becomes Taeyong's responsibility cuz 'HE'S THE LEADER'. Funny, how NCTzens change narratives quickly. Also, weird how, according to NCTzens, NCT members suddenly can't think for themselves even though they're grown adults and need Taeyong to take the blame for them. Haha.....
-Also, NCTzens guilt tripping TyongFs from canceling NCT Beyond Live tickets when they got to know that he was injured and wont be participating in the concert a little too late, cuz "Taeyong, as a leader, would be sooo upseeet that his group wont be getting TyongFs' money and he'd feel sooo guiltyyy that y'all are getting refunds of your OWN money that YOU CHOSE to spent and its not my business at all. But damn, y'all are sooo selfish!!!!"
-NCTzens posting about how overjoyed they are that TY is injured cuz that means their faves get to shine..... "Look how MY FAVE killed TY's part" "MY FAVE ate Taeyong up" "Should've put MY FAVE in the OG line up instead of Taeyong" "MY FAVE made TY's part as his own" "Thank god, MY FAVE got to show off his talents, now that Taeyong isnt here". God, if i were one of the Neos whose fans say sh*t like this, it would've felt like a slap to my face. Honestly, tell me, do y'all really think so low of your faves? Do you really think they cant shine even with TY being on stage? They absolutely can, but you're focus is not on them, is it? Way to embarrass yourself.
-NCTzens blaming Taeyong for NCT's slow rise to fame because of the false rumors/allegations pinned on him by nasty people. They say Taeyong was the sole reason for NCT not being liked by many, not because of their confusing/complicated concept or the music. Yeah, you heard me. NCTzens are not above victim blaming and pointing fingers, cuz they are not ready to accept the fact that Taeyong was the one who carried the group on his back all the way.
-And how they can't stand the fact that TY gets praised by proffesionals or non-fans or locals. A dance analyzer analyzed 127's Kick It and at the end stated that Taeyong was the best dancer in 127. And what did NCTzens do. They bullied the analyzer to the point that they deleted the video, just cuz their fave was not named the best. A reactor reacts to Taeyong's Long Flight and the comments on the videos are along the lines of 'Hey, MY FAVE'S also has a solo song too. You should definitely react to that' or when they're tryna be subtle (but not really), they go 'Taeyong is soo good but you should also check out MY FAVE'S blah blah blah'
Hell, even when TyongFs say 'Taeyong is very so creative, by coming up with BDLI Jungle Gym concept and the MAW chandelier thing. He's literally an Idea Bank', and NCTzens go 'All the Neos are idea banks' in the same post.
When TyongFs say 'Taeyong is the really so handsome. NCT's main visual', they go 'All the Neos are main visuals'
Lmao, just 3 days ago, someone commented 'Taeyong is cute' under a tiktok video and an NCTzen just couldn't help but fume about it and went 'All Neos are cute'🙄
Like seriously, this is sooo annoying. Make your own goddamn post about the rest of NCT, ffs! Why do you to insert anyone else in a Taeyong tweet? Literally, can't let Taeyong have a moment for himself.
-Recently, Taeyong released 2 solo demo tracks on SoundCloud- Dark Clouds and Dark Clouds Remix (check it out here: https://soundcloud.com/eh_ovo_taeyong). And NCTzens being NCTzens started those who never even promoted Kun's SoundCloud before started promoting it under every TY tweet on the same day. Now, i don't have a problem with them promoting Kun's SC. But they could've done it any other day or made their own tweet about it. But doing it under every TY promo tweet and on the very same day? Really??? And some of them had the audacity to say that TY was getting free clout from Kun cuz Kun followed him on SC.....😑😑😑
-NCTzens have this weird belief that TY is getting solo promos and is being pushed by SM. What on earth are they talking about? Taeyong being center, main rapper and main dancer of the group is not solo promo. Him being in SuperM is not solo promo. Him opening Instagram and SoundCloud is not solo promo, but self promo- which means HE'S promoting himself, not SM. Solo promo is usually provided to the artist by the company in the form of photoshoots, accepting brand deals, releasing the artist's solo music etc and SM isnt doing sh*t for Taeyong. All they're doing is overworking him and milking him for money. That's it. And i want NCTzens to understand that.
And the list goes on and on and on. This weird hate boner NCTzens have for Taeyong is so bizarre to me. All Taeyong does is sing, rap, dance, talk cutely, take care of his fishes and play games with Baekhyun. And this somehow gets NCTzens mad. They constantly discredit him, try to make him seem less than what he actually is, insert everyone else when someone is talking just about him, make him seem like a villain by twisting his words or actions and making it into a big deal.... *sigh* Its so unbelievable how low NCTzens can stoop. And it gets tiring real quick.
N E Ways, this is everything i wanted to rant about and damn, this turned out to be too lengthy. Now, if you havent followed Taeyong on his Instagram, please do @eh_evo_nct. Stream Long Flight, his one and only solo station. And please look forward to BaekhyunxTaeyong collab on Taeyong's SoundCloud.
Ciao!

anonymous said:  can you do headcanons for finn dating a kpop soloist please?? it might be hard if ur not a fan so dONt feel pressured to do it^^
masterlist / ask
Tumblr media
music has always ran in your blood
you grew up in korea and you didn’t really have a good knowledge of english
so your mom made sure you got an english teacher
because she always wanted the best for her daughter
so like you would be able to speak english but the accent was still there
you signed with a korean management group when you were 14
and at first there wasn’t any gigs or anything
but they paired you with 5 other girls
and you guys became y/g/n
(y/g/n stands for your group name )
at first the girls were like super intimidating
because they were all older
like 21 older and you were considered the baby of the group
but when they got to know you they automatically treated you like they’re little sis
and they were so protective over you and anyone you were interested in
so you liked people but you never really had a boyfriend
anyway your group only became popular when you turned 16
people nominated you for a grammy and even though you didn’t win one
you gained more followers since you guys went
so your management would finally decide to let you guys tour north america
after endless months of practice and writing new songs
you guys were ready for the tour
your first stop was atlanta and you heard some celebs were coming to check you guys out
but you didn’t really know which ones for sure
you were so nervous because it was your first show in america
and the crew was just stressing you out
and in the last practice you couldn’t get any of the dance moves
one of your groupmates, Holly came to calm you down
“ Look, y/n your fine, the house is packed and everyone is coming just to see us. we’re- wait what do you call it”
you let out a laugh,” royalty”
she got up and hugged you and went back to her mua
soon it was time
you were singing your song that you released before the tour
you were the opening act before the group
so you sang and the crowd was so crazy
so the group came out and you guys performed
all your music and a couple of throwback stuff
you saw some celebrities in the crowd
like shawn mendes and sabrina carpenter but you weren’t really paying attention
so after the show the celebs came backstage
and you thanked all of them and since the other members didn’t really know english you spoke for them
and they talked about collabing on a song together
or just getting to hang out
and then the last person came
finn fucking wolfhard
and he would just be raving about your show
‘ that was so amazing like one of the best shows i’ve seen in a long time ‘
and you would be really flattered and you guys would just talk for a long time
so after he would give you his number
“ you know, just in case we hang out or something “
and he scratched his neck that really cute thing he always does
so it would be like 2 months
and you and finn got closer over text
like you would always be on your phone
giggling or smiling over something someone said
“ y/n has the fattest crush on that lanky stranger things boy “
and you would blush like fucking crazy
“ i do not “
they would constantly be teasing you in practice
but then finn asked you on a date and they would go full big sisters mode
they would help you get ready
but they also said that they would rip his head off if he hurt you
but yeah like i said
basic big sister stuff
so you guys were still touring and your next show was in l.a.
so you planned to get coffee and then go to one of finn’s movies
but you dressed in like a cute summer dress
and you would just talk about your careers and just weird things about yourselves
the way you guys just fit together was crazy
so finn would finally grow balls and hold your hands during the movie and you would just be like blushing like fucking crazy
and he would walk you back to the hotel room
“ um y/n i had a lot of fun tonight with you “
“ me too”
and he would lean in and just kiss you and it would be perfect
until holly opened the door
“ wow locking lips out here huh?”
and you and finn would look at each other
and blush
he would wave to you bye and tell you he would text you later
and holly would have just talked her ass off
and you would be tired and finn would text you goodnight
so you guys have been hanging out in public
and fans always thought you guys were dating
but you didn’t really release anything
until your group was on spill your guts, fill your guts
and james was asking personal questions that were funny.
“ y/n i’m going to give you bull’s penis”
“ james there is no way i am eating that”
he would pick the card up and start giggling
“ you might have to”
you would groan and slap your hand against your head
the entire audience would be laughing
“ okay y/n, there are pictures of you walking around, holding hands with actor finn wolfhard. are you guys dating?”
you looked around as the audience oohed
you debated it, you were not eating it
so you decided in the quickest moment possible
and you said
“ yeah, i guess we are”
and the entire crowd awed and james said
“ well you heard it here first, we’ll be right back after the break“

ult group tag tagged by @leeyubinz
thanks for the tag 😊 i’ll answer for dreamcatcher and twice
1. who was your first bias?
sua (and about a month later handong too)
2. who is your bias now?
ot7 <3
3. what was the first mv you watched by them?
chase me
4. what’s your favourite mv?
fly high, you and i, deja vu
5. if you could only listen to one of their songs for the rest of your life, which would it be?
LMAO i still have an ask about what my favorite dc track is from over a year ago because while I listen to a song it's my favorite
6. who would you want to see them collab with?
oh i have a post for this. also twice for selfish reasons
7. what (mv) concept do you want to see them do?
you know i also have a post for this too, i think this would be a fun special album to put out in summer or something (also my concept tag is filled with other people’s ideas on this and there’s a lot of cool stuff in there)
8. have you ever had a dream with any of the members in it?
yes! i’ve had 2 dreams with all 7 of the members and they were sooo nice. :( now i want to have another one.
9. if you could spend a day with one member, who would it be and what would you do?
i hate to choose >:( however might first thoughts were handong, yoohyeon, and jiu. with handong i’d want to go on a cafe date/food centered day because she eats out with friends a lot and knows good places. i’d want to hang out with yoohyeon because her english would make the whole situation easier and i’d want to play games with her!! i feel like we would match each others skills and it would be really fun to play. and for jiu, it honestly doesn’t matter what specifically we do i just want to feel her wonderful aura in person
10. which member do you think you would get along with best?
i feel like all of the members are so easy to get along with, like everyone loves working with them. hmm I’m most like handong and dami so probably them. although my friends are actually more loud and affectionate and chaotic like sua and gahyeon so maybe those two
11. which member do you think you would argue with?
lol sua or gahyeon because i argue with my friends too. oh actually! i think i would get into arguments with yoohyeon over like really dumb stuff just for the fun of it
12. if you had to let one member scroll through your tumblr, who would it be?
you know my initial reaction was like oh no but i scrolled through my blog a bit just to see and honestly any of them (the most embarrassing thing about my tumblr might be how many posts I make in a day). generally my rule is to not post things if i’m not willing to own up to it (tumblr may not be twitter but like it’s still the internet) and i’ve mostly followed that. that being said yoohyeon because she’s very much an internet denizen herself or jiu because even if she’s judging me she’ll just have the same smile and laugh she always does
twice
1. who is your bias now?
mina
2. who is your bias now?
hahaha unnie line (mina, nayeon, sana, jihyo, jeongyeon, momo)
3. what was the first mv you watched by them?
not sure, i think i saw them before i decided to get into kpop? but once i was into i want to say likey because i feel like i understood who they were by the time i watched heart shaker
4. what’s your favourite mv?
hmmm what is love, breakthrough, feel special, or merry & happy
5. if you could only listen to one of their songs for the rest of your life, which would it be?
i refuse, whenever i don’t know what i want to listen to i go to twice and hit shuffle. having only one twice song is simply unthinkable
6. who would you want to see them collab with?
i’ll repeat and say dreamcatcher here too but weirdly it’s not something i’ve thought about a lot. oh blackpink and red velvet because we don’t get to see them interact nearly enough, rather than a song i’d want them to “collab” on something like time to twice. i don’t have any music collabs for the group but i do want to see chaeyoung and jiwoo collab. I guess just continuing to collab with producers that aren’t jyp?
7. what (mv) concept do you want to see them do?
gosh, i don’t know they’ve done so much already. a mystery concept? they could go sherlock or film noir or cozy mystery or clue. oh or they could revisit old concepts with a new spin. ie. (like ooh-ahh) zombies but . . . it's sci-fi and they’re researchers looking for a cure. or (cheer up, what is love) movies but this time they’re the movie makers (director, cameraperson, gaffer, etc) and . . . they’re indie filmmakers and things aren’t coming out picture perfect. or (heart shaker, can’t stop me) a train concept, a romantic train concept, a meet cute on a train. but there’s dopplegangers? mmm maybe no dopplegangers. anyways you get the point
8. have you ever had a dream with any of the members in it?
yeah, sana appeared in a dream that featured a lot of idols and i had another dream with nayeon...
9. if you could spend a day with one member, who would it be and what would you do?
hmm once again going to be classically me and not choose. with nayeon i’d want to binge some drama or movies at home while devouring snacks and playing with kookeu. i want to spend a day with momo but i think we’re both too shy to warm up to each other in just one day. with sana idk some kind of activity or day out but mostly I just wanna experience the magnitude of her stare irl. with mina, oh! i’d want to go to the theatre! maybe see a matinee musical relax a bit then see a ballet at night. i’d want to spend a day with dahyun just cuz i was picturing what it would be like for each member and i just had no idea what the dynamic would be like with her so now i’m curious.
10. which member do you think you would get along with best?
hmm i see myself a lot in mina so i definitely think we’d get along. but then there’s also nayeon who is loud and chaotic like so many of my friends and i can definitely see myself being a chaos enabler to. once we got over the meeting/knowing each other hump i think i’d get along well with momo too. sana reminds me of my sister in some ways so we’d get along well. i think it’d be easy to vibe with tzuyu too.
11. which member do you think you would argue with?
jihyo, i definitely think we’d bicker esp when i also get competitive and i would love to tease her which could also lead to arguments.
12. if you had to let one member scroll through your tumblr, who would it be?
hmm, any of them? let’s go with dahyun, mina, or sana i think they’d tease me the least about it

Idk why people thought BTS was going to win a Grammy! Beyoncé has been snubbed, Nicki I believe has never been nominated and Ariana can’t win one for nothing. People have to realize Kpop is relatively small compared to other genres and for people calling the Grammy’s racist? Where were all of you when all the black artist were snubbed? I feel bad for BTS but not their “broken hearted” fans who actually thought they had a chance
PLEASE! I remember someone asked me something about this last year when fans expected SuperM to win a Grammy. Why would you go into an award show like the Grammys expecting an international group that is comparatively unknown to win anything? The fact that they were nominated at all is a miracle but to expect them to win is expecting way too much from the Grammys. Their awards don’t work the same way the VMAs or any of the Korean music award shows work. The VMAs has categories for artists with a huge online presence which is what BTS is usually awarded for, and shows like MAMA are just catered to the kpop market and fans are allowed to cast their own votes. The Grammys does not care how many Twitter followers or streams a certain artists has. Name recognition alone put every other nominee light years ahead of BTS because yeah their song plays on the radio but that doesn’t then translate to the general public knowing who they are. I doubt the academy or whoever votes on Grammy nominations cares about Dynamite or BTS in general. To me it seems like America has found their pet kpop groups in Blackpink and BTS and have tunnel vision in regards to them but don’t actually value them as artists. It seems like BTS has very much just become a token in American pop culture where they’re acknowledged but not rewarded. I don’t feel bad for BTS because they’re still one of the most popular boy groups to ever come out of Korea and their notoriety and fame hasn’t been touched by this one loss. If anything it’s brought more eyes to them because even though Dynamite has been shoved down everyone’s throat since it’s release not every knows the song or the artist. BTS really hasn’t been effected by this at all and the fact that their fans see this as a personal slight against them rather than just how award shows work is kinda crazy. I don’t feel bad for them at all but I can see what you mean. It would’ve made history if they won but them being nominated at all was historic. And personally I’m glad they didn’t win with Dynamite because it’s one of their worst songs in my opinion. Not because it’s in English or anything I just didn’t like it upon release and the fact that it was so overplayed only ruined it more. But there will be other songs and other chances for them to get awards so ARMYs should be looking forward to that rather than dwelling on one loss. It’s not that deep. Especially not when it’s common for big artists like Nicki or Ariana to not be nominated or awarded. It happens, it’s okay. No need to be anti black and borderline racist to the winners on Twitter.

Unpopular opinion about K - pop  girl -  group BlackPink and K- pop in general
Disclaimer :  contains personal opinions If you do not like personal opinions then do not read this   I personally like  K - pop BP but their songs just are becoming corny now ever since their comeback song with Selena Gomez called Ice Cream I am sorry but the song is just horrible and awful It sounds like an early 2000´s - mid 2000´s song like come on BP I loved the visuals in that video but also no shade to Lisa but girl your rap lyrics don´t make any sense I understand you are good at dancing but no your rap lyrics are just full of non sense 2. I´d love to see Jisso and Rosé sing their own songs cause Jennie had her own song 3. K- pop is having it´s downfall and peak at the same time more people are listening to K - pop but more people are not listening to K - pop since the K - pop industry has been controlled and tricking these kids and teens only for them to be controlled by gross adults whom body shame them and hit them for making mistakes 4. JYP made a statement about want more non - Asians within K - pop but never try to train or sing   non - Asians this is one of the many reasons why K - pop is having a big downfall  check out this article for more info  https://www.cnbc.com/2016/10/24/jyp-wants-multinational-groups-to-be-the-future-of-k-pop.html  4. Racism within K - pop this is also one of the reasons why people have issues with K - pop many k- pop idols have been racist doing things such as blackface , saying the n word yes in English and say words like c00n = n - word many people even Southern Koreans have been expressing their disappointed when It comes to them saying that word many Southern Koreans said that K - pop idols should stop saying that word because they say the English n word all the time and do blackface which is very bad many Southern Koreans have said this is not okay and they should not say that word because they are racist yet they only apologize when it becomes a controversial topic and people are leaving their fandom and many Southern Koreans have said that they keep on saying / doing racist things after they have apologize many Southern Koreans have said to not fully blame the stylists or other people whom including  dance instructors songwriters or lyricists or production team within the company yes they are to blame but people forget these K - pop idols know what they are doing they want to use cultures or  a culture but not give not love back that culture or those cultures  Check out Sherliza Moé´s youtube video called racism and cultural appropriation in K - pop many Southern Koreans and people of other cultures /agree with her in the comments so yeah there are also several videos taking about racism and cultural appropriation within K - pop but I also see 2  double standard when it comes to the topic of  racism / cultural appropriation within  K - pop so 1. the boy groups can  get away with being culture vultures and saying or doing racist things  or some people just say no this is wrong  2. when It comes to the girl groups within K - pop  being culture vultures and saying or doing racist things It becomes an debate because some people are saying no they should be held accountable for their  words  and  actions because what they said / did is not Okay but also there´s whom think it is the company the people in their company whom is doing this to them well no these K - pop idols regardless of their biological gender know not to be racist they know not to be culture vultures and know what is right and wrong but also people send hate to these idols which is bad because they most likely will not take accountability for their  words and actions but instead of sending hate tell those Idols to take accountability for their  words and actions and tell these Idols why the things they said or did was offensive I don´t know why K - pop Idols have a certain face like I thought K - pop was about talent rather than your looks and a - lot of K - pop Idols also got singed up by their managers and they were not even read or even wished to be a K - pop star anyways these K - pop Idols are overworked mostly only  in order to stay thin  drink water and they do not eat a - lot or they only eat one meal a day which is unhealthy and many K - pop Idols have done some unhealthy things in order to stay thin the fact that K - pop is scary job not only do these Idols not get to see their families and friends and be in their neighborhood but they also might re - new their contracts because of the fact that It might help their family If they have problems with financially stable but their parents also waste a  -   lot  of money buying them outfits and their family also might be in debt because depending on the company their families might have to pay back the company and the K - pop Idol as well many of these K - pop Idols want to show their families and friends their talent also If JYP wants non - Asian people to be in his company then why is it that their Idols are all Asians / trainees are all Asians nothing wrong with being Asian but the people whom work for the company whom are non - Asians does that mean that non - Asian people in the K - pop industry are only good for working behind the scenes K - pop is also having their downfall since a - lot of K - pop companies are hiring and training these new groups that are coming in the K - pop industry so quickly and a - lot of new groups / new trainees are not having or wearing outfits since the K - pop industry wants to have new groups within K - pop so quickly or at least train them Okay all I have to say is K - pop is going to have a huge downfall as we can all see a - lot of K-pop Idols are doing other things and being less of K - pop stars many K - pop Idols are focusing on Modeling , Acting and other things and being less and less than K - pop stars which is making and creating a huge downfall for K - pop within itself More people are starting to not support K - pop or listen to K - pop because of these reasons and more people are wanting C- pop stands for Chinese  pop to be more popular because it is not as strict when compared to K - pop and also people are also listening to more J - pop which stands for Japanese pop because It is not as strict when compared to K - pop   people are slowly  starting to move away from K - pop and starting to listen or watch  C- pop and J - pop because It sounds much better and has better production   music videos and their outfits are just unique to look at and have just unique songs and C - pop and J - pop is good in my personal opinion and both  industries of C - pop and J - pop are  not as strict when compared to K - pop C - pop and J - pop music and music video and people in the 2 genres   just does not feel controlled or forced although C - pop and J - pop idols do have a marketed Image not only that but South Korea is struggling because well let´s be honest South Korea actually makes money and is famous mostly off of K - pop while China and Japan survives off of not only C - pop and J - pop but make clothes for other countries and other things so yes China and Japan are struggling but not as much as South Korea because South Korea makes most of their money and fame off of K - pop and since the music industry all around the world is struggling It is making it hard for South Korea to not make a lot of music because of the pandemic check out more proof from this youtube link the video talks about the k pop industry  https://youtu.be/URZ1-Pmi9JY this video link is for these delusional bts fans I know that not all bts fans are delusional but many of them say that bts “paved the way “ which this is false and this south Korean person talks about why bts did’nt pave the way accept the fact or not but yeah https://youtu.be/f2NyNo4JWsw  also for all those delusional blinks and bts fans click on this video link because If any of you say “well bts or BP made k - pop much more popular and they have more awards “ well okay but click the links for more information you never knew about the K - pop industry and also Sherliza moe has mad a video talking about how bad the k - pop industry is please keep in mind I’m not trying to start fanwars then we got the double standards in kpop click on this link to see the double standards within kpop https://youtu.be/B_bSYdSyk5U

It's long but hey, thank you so much for allowing me to share my thoughts as kpop is something I do enjoy but I like to look at it from other points of view, how it looks to me from various perspectives, not just as face value kpop fans have tantrums every time something isn't right or whenever idol does something so small and irrelevant it becomes a scandal… shocking but idols are humans and won't always perform to the fans standard.
Fans bitch and whine about how the standard of kpop industry is too harsh yet it's not the industry that is encouraging it, it's the fans themselves, they cant accept minor mistakes and everything gets taken out of context while fans claim they know the idols… ie: Jennie's “lazy” scandal.
Yet they don’t scrutinize the idols whenever they are sexist, colorist, ageist, misogynist, racist, because they can “do no wrong” or their fans, will come to save their asses… even the flipping companies encourage it because they want them to be younger. After all, it's more appealing??? but what 25+-year-old fans are going to be drawn to teens in a group? I don't even find itzy, txt appealing and their whole group’s image is directly for those of teenagers and below, the music/dances, the image, it’s all catered that specifically of a younger audience, shame, I would’ve liked them otherwise.
The younger the idols = the better publicity and the higher chances of gaining popularity by getting into “scandals” for the lack of maturity and social awareness nor are they likely to take accountability and just do whatever they please anyway because they’re idols and their fans will still claim that their age isn’t a problem or because they’re a child/teenager/minor then its okay kpop idols are so out of touch with reality that when they have some form of criticism they start banning and suing left right & center… because they live as though everyone is going to fall head over heels for them and blindly accept everything they do because most kpop fans are already blinded by their idols and cant accept when an idol says or does something disgustingly wrong nor can they accept mild criticism without getting their pitchforks out.. its a cult, no denying it.
As lovely as the choreography might be I don't want to watch the idols if they are doing any of the above: dancing overly provocatively (especially when they may be on the minor age scale), twerking or grinding the stage or anything overly sexual at that.
Kpop fans lap it up because its socially acceptable to objectify the idols and make them appealing because of their “dancing/performance” when it is turning them into some trend because they “danced” overly sexy/cute, that's all they amount to is the dancing side of it
TBH I found it intriguing at first but now every kpop group tries to have this “sexy” look and it just doesn't work. it’s like asking a foreigner to be interested in kpop when they act cute except its not normal to appear cute over here, it's only going to appeal to those who maybe find it intriguing or different from their own culture.
Yet cute/sexy is all kpop idols can amount to even if it looks so uncomfortable and unpleasing to watch. alas they are idols, they’re not humans, they can twerk, dance provocatively and act cute all because the fans will enjoy it no matter what it is or who it is… age isn’t even considered but the younger the better they stand a greater chance.
Which is like bighit canceling everyone of the older generations who maybe possess the same talent but with a maturer image and behavior… its both ageist and sexist, why is it some huge fetish that just boys in or around 1999 only for their new survival show thing i-land? I find it… odd more than exciting or interesting cause I know its just typical for the members to be more younger but less appealing to older generation cause I have nothing that I’d relate too I don't even relate to the TikTok trend because that's all it is, another trend or bandwagon. yet everyone treats it as being this incredible new thing that suddenly acceptable for young folk even though it brings so much disgusting behavior/drama along with it, its a recycled version of the vine but worse, in the same sense this is what kpop does, recycle groups once they’re less appealing to make way for the same groups but look slightly different. 2ne1/blackpink, BTS/txt yet the fans don't say nothing about how it is encouraging the sexual appeal and almost asking for fans to thirst over them because this is what “dance” supposedly should be. sexy/cute nothing in between, it's saying that idols should portray this image cause it’s more appealing than the music itself. if the male idols show their abs/skin even better, females? wear the most uncomfortable looking clothing and ur good to go.
The kpop sounds now have become about the group's image, level of popularity, as opposed to actual talent, creative freedom and ability to give off a genuine performance that doesn’t include anything generic or robotic image. its got to be loud, bright, vivid because its all for the dance/sexual appeal of both the male and female gender is almost aligned with the concept for it.
The lyrics can be as disgusting as they please because its okay, its only kpop. any lyrics are acceptable, bts got called out for their lyrics in one song yet not in any of the others? same for other groups, so few call out the lyrics because lyrics mean nothing. it's about the visual appeal of the groups and the kind of fame they gather from it alone so you can have the visuals but do the bare minimum and not have much stage presence but be classed as a main singer or dancer, its okay fans will lap it up no matter what it is. also, I’ve noticed the same sound being used across several groups depending on the concept of the song… repetitive much? why does kpop fear change or standing out? why get idols to become something they are not ie: whitening their naturally beautiful dark skin, have idols who don’t need to, lose weight. it's not the company its the idols encouraging it because it's acceptable and normalized to be anything other than thick, natural and healthy.
Ppl act like trying to shove kpop into the western music genre will make it appeal any better, the fans act like they couldn’t see the racism coming, but that's what happened bts were forced into a culture that had nothing to do with them because in western we generally hop from one bandwagon to the next and just roll with it since it's popular it must be good.
ie: one direction, psy, 5 seconds of summer and now bts… how do so many don't see the pattern nor did they see bts coming? you expect Asian artists to become greatly admired over here too but when you shove it in ppl’s faces and try to get it to become the next big thing, not everyone is gonna see the appeal I honestly feel like it's been forced… not by the companies but by the international fans. now instead of trying to gain popularity in their home country kpop groups try too hard to appeal to the western market… you can’t even deny how vastly generic bts’ music has become SINCE they hit the American music awards or whatever it was. note: they didn’t even win awards for their music, but simply their popularity is what got them there
I loved boyz with fun, despised boy with Luv yet because they’ve been in the American industry’s eyes they put it out what has become popular just using their language… well sometimes, even idol, what could’ve been a great song with a nice meaning missed some marks, as in the overuse of auto-tune has become almost normal for them? vs using natural vocal abilities, I'm no coach but straining one's voice to hit a high note in a slow song doesn’t sound healthy. when all bts have done in the past is upbeat music is why they struggle to maintain high notes in slow songs because they’ve followed the same music style for so long then suddenly changed it so their voices don't match softer songs… which I’d appreciate more of instead of just dark lyrics and over-hyped upbeat poppy music.
ie: I loved the sound for serendipity, but the lyrics weren’t as good and Jimin kinda struggled to sing it well enough both in-studio and live, however its one of my more favorite songs. I’d also appreciate a slower gentle song that isn’t about a relationship too thanks looking @ you euphoria.
You think it's about the music, lyrical side of it but I disagree, it's merely the concept of yet another boy group that's sadly taken over in the most overbearingly forced way possible and you all act like the racism wasn’t going to occur. nct had an incredibly shit time in America during their tour its because it's not meant for America, its trying force kpop to become something it's not just to fit in with western music taste. I miss when they did full songs in Korean now they do English full versions with hella cringe-worthy lyrics and expect them to blow up or become the next big thing.
I’ve been walking with the cheese and the queso????? if ur happy and u know it clap ur hands???? theses ones make me laugh more than wanting to listen repeatedly, they throw them in there simply to appeal to western music, no matter if its a bad lyric, doesn't make sense or is cringe-worthy.
Kpop is built for Korean consumption it's great to see it's expanded however, its in the wrong directions for the wrong appeal. bts did not pave the way when psy also existed the same year they debuted. bts tried to get a following in America but failed because naturally psy was almost made fun of for just being an Asian doing what he does best yet the hype quickly dyed down & everyone moved on until bts came into the scene… so far behind than when they should’ve gone viral years before. not the companies fault but merely the appeal of the image/music wasn’t suited to the western music genre so when they become familiar more with America they switched the songs to sound pop-like… nothing wrong but less appealing than their original image/music, which I prefer, I’d say it started to change with not today era.
The only reason being bts have stuck around now is because of the boy group concept even if the lyrics aren’t that great when translated into English, they’ve already tried and IMO, failed to push their music into the western music industry and they’ve won awards solely based on the fandom/popularity alone kpop has become less and less about the music, energy of the performances, now it's about if they look right together as a group. how the group as a whole appeal to the fans and what makes the fans blinded by them… which is essentially their sex appeal, whether the idols are grown women or men or even teenagers, who might be uncomfortable with fans lusting after them. whether they’re dancing sexy or acting somewhat cute doesn’t matter because it's become acceptable and a must if you want to be an idol so fans can thirst over them.
Sorry not sorry but kpop has become much less about the music itself and see what is trendy puts it to music and calls it the next big thing. which is a shame I love the language I love how it sounds in the songs & I also love that it encourages me to learn the language that's more appealing than the group image/songs itself but they’re letting looks matter to the point where groups are mistreated abroad by both media and fans alike all because of this group image concept. nct getting mixed up with bts was pure racist but how can they fail to tell how different they are? wait, no, any Asian boys in a group must be considered to be bts… see its just one hype train after the other, even Astro got mixed and when parasite become popular and rightly won the awards some were racist. Trump's comment was appalling but at least he got the country right, yes, everything that's become popularised in America is from South Korea, gold star for that.
Its the concept of boy groups. not the music itself. if it were music then day6 would have a similar appeal, gain the same momentum as bts/nct have done, yet because they differ from the typical dance style boy group they won't gain the same effect as their counterparts, bts / nct & whoever else.
Yet they’re still appealing to the wider international audience and did very well with their tours, same for the rose, they don’t trend in the same way boy groups do but have some form of appeal because it’s a different concept/image style altogether than the way bts / nct, etc are put together but still they don’t have the same effect as some of the more dance-based groups have because its a different genre but still from the same industry…
Different genre means less appealing or less popular but I’d say day6 are doing better, producing a greater amount of pleasing music, with reasonable lyrics but don't receive the same amount of popularity. compare to bts / nct who follow similar styles mixed up of what is trendy and call it a day. whereas kpop dance groups throw anything out there and its okay cause fans will lap it up too.
It's not the song that got blackpink to Coachella, its purely the appeal of yet another young women based group, again solely so they can push the feminism, girl power movement through their “songs” but it's their image of youthful cutely acting girls that gains the attention of western men/women… little mix tried it so why not blackpink, heck even fifth harmony failed to maintain the popularity because the appeal wasn’t there in the songs, but they were females in a group, therefore, they must have some form of appeal to the public / recent trends, bandwagons
