as we all know from all the coping people do, Ivan was hit in a spot which can be survived with medical attention.

Ivan, being the face of a big sponsor, they wouldn’t want their marketing to be dead, right? So possibly, said sponsor could pay big money to coerce the Alien Stage hosts into letting him get medical attention, FOR THE SAKE OF CAPITALISM! From what we’ve seen the Aliens are like us humans in a sense that they favor money.
