The velma show sucks major ass and a better use of your time would be to watch Mystery Incorperated. Security theater: is very Large Obtrusive security measures to give the illusion or assurance its Safer while in reality its not

Simon and Two Bread Tom are obviously parallels to each other. They are both a) human survivors of the mushroom war b) older male figure idk how to phrase that but anyway and c) voiced by the Same Guy

But theres also!! Another really interesting way these guys overlap

They both make choices to keep the people they love safe that also inadvertently put the exact people they want to protect in danger

In the islands comic two bread tom almost loses Jo twice causing him to develop a paranoia of losing people close to him

...but he never actually lost her until he becomes so Afraid of losing her he even starts the process to construct the guardian

Which will lead to the separation of Another family (Finn's)

(Simon also does this by putting on the crown to protect marceline btw he becomes a danger to her while trying to keep her safe and even though we could say he doesnt have a Choice. I m sure to two bread tom in his logic he Also doesn't have a choice)
