I struggled for years with my weight. The number on the scale owned me, it controlled me. I decided in January 2017 to take charge of my life. I have recently regained a fraction of that back but THATS OKAY!!! The old me would have self sabotaged and continued to let the scale climb! Yesterday I was talking to @kbrue24 and we were talking about how much physical movement is so important for our mental health. . When I get anxious I often don’t feel like moving or eating but this last longer anxiety episode I just made one promise to myself. . I would do my best to take care of those needs, that would go to the gym even if I wasn’t stoked to, even if it was only 30 minutes or I would practice yoga and move my body and I would make sure to eat, get some sleep and take care of my needs even if I didn’t feel like doing it because I knew it was important. . I think that’s actually some thing really useful my therapist told me. . I don’t have to enjoy everything I know is good for me to do it. . For example, sometimes doing nothing stresses me out but I also know it’s important so I try and find creative ways to rest or I just do it even though I don’t really want to and it can be the same with eating and working out and taking care of yourself. . You can do it, even when you don’t feel like it because you know that doing it will benefit you in the big scheme of things. . The girl I was before these programs never thought I would be able to do 100 workouts in 100 days, let alone 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐀𝐘 of the journey. I'm going to cut myself off now before I get too mushy - 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘭! Just walked a 5K in my house. NBD! Haha! So happy with tonight’s workout! I’m going to try and make this my absolute best week. Today was also Day 1 of my new #intermittentfasting plan. I’m doing the 16:8 - so I fast from about 9 or 10 pm until 1pm following day. Today went very well, but my struggle is always sticking to the plan. I think I can do it this time though.
