I don't think many people have kept up with Just Dance since like 2016 or something, so um. This might be a shocker

JUST DANCE HAS LORE NOW.

It has a whole ass story mode (albeit only 6-7 songs per chapter and one chapter per yearly release)

There's 3 types of lore:

Type 1: It is stated directly. 1000% canonic.

For instance, the one time it was canonized that at least 3 characters, if not more, are fake and live inside of paintings (can't make this up)

^ EVIDENCE

(Flashbacks to that one time they turned the entire cast emo and then one of the main character's mom kidnapped all of them and shipped them off into space to do unspecified evil things™)

Type 2: It is inferred by Just Dance's small but rabid fandom.

I use inferred loosely because they just project headcanons onto these poor people. Examples include:

These characters live in the same universe

He has mommy issues because she wanted him to learn ballet or something and he didn't want to

I call these inferred because they take so much out of these cutscenes when most of the time they're just standing there like:

Type 3: THEY MAKE A POST ABOUT IT ON THEIR WEIRD ASF SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS. These aren't all like that relevant but a couple times they dropped fucking TRUTH BOMBS

Telling us these characters broke up which wasn't clear within the plot of the song.

Telling us anyone who ships these two is completely invalid and they're not gonna get together.

Technically, I don’t talk about playing Just Dance a lot bc I play for hours like once every few weeks when I’m home, but on New Year’s Eve I’d been playing for like 2.5 hours and my sister was shitfaced on the couch and I wasn’t sober completely. Well I was playing Treasure and my kitten was by my feet and I knocked into her and in a moment of exhausted brilliancy I said to my sister, “I just Treasured on the cat.” And I think abt that a lot.
