OR if you’re a natural learner then he loves practicing pronunciation n conversations with you

or! if the break is longer and he’s outside, you’ll find him reading under a tree… so you just lay in his legs, back pressed to his chest… and you doze off to gain some energy for the next class

i feel like he wouldn’t be the nerdy type of student BUT he’s not failing lmaosnosjw

he’s very patient so he won’t hesitate to spend all night to help you understand some subjects

deffo runs up to you in the hallways, not caring if he steps on someone 😭

riku is very energetic so he’ll be your personal coffee cup in the morning, when you’re trying your best to stay awake during boring class

he’s a lil prankster tho so expect stolen pens or goofy doodles on your notes >:)

tho makes up for it by buying you baked goods in his fav bakery :”)

for sure loves bragging about you so he will hold your hand in the hallway or in the cafeteria 🥹

and if someone throws a comment abt how "gross" the pda is… he’s smothering your face in kisses hehe

whenever your boyfriend is missing, you bet your ass he’ll be at the soccer field playing w his friends

so you often bring him snacks or water (or goodies if it’s cold!)

yushi tends to be shy so he’ll quickly peck your cheek as a thank you and run off to go back, face dusted w pink :”)

and it just makes him so happy whenever you stay to watch him play

he’s in the school soccer team too! so you support him during all of his games <3

sometimes during breaks he’ll just… be here… while you study or chat with your friends… so he lets you do whatever you want w him, whether it’s playing with his fingers or making small braids or ponytails on his hair 🥹

he likes music and history so you guessed it, he is your history nerd boyfie<3

will do everything in his willpower to explain everything clearly to you but let’s be real,, the excitement in his eyes n voice makes it hard not to listen (so you naturally learn)

(and if you pay attention till the end he gives you kisses)

jaehee is a very good student, respected amongst his peers and teachers

but he wouldn’t mind bending the rules for you

for example sneaking out during breaks to buy you snacks from the nearest convenient store…

…or running a bit late to class because he walked you to your class…

…OR having to explain why he doesn’t have his books (because he knew you forgot yours at home so he lent you his)

and so on

will bring you fresh bread or homemade bread on your important exam days:(

sakuya loves giving gifts so he’ll always have a small gift for you, no matter the occasion (even if it’s just a snack from the vending machine)

gets so so so excited whenever he sees you, will literally stop talking to whoever he was talking to and run up to kiss your cheek the second his eyes spot you in the crowd

waits for you to finish your class!! he just can’t bare being away from you >:(

his curiosity gets him in trouble sometimes…

… for example when he excuses himself to go to the toilet… but ends up peeking into your class to see how you’re doing…

shares his earphone with you during breaks🥹

sometimes you sneak to the library with him just to have a moment alone

pairing ▸ random!nct members x reader (yuta, ten, jaehyun, renjun, jaemin, chenle, riku, sakuya) author's note ▸ i was inspired by another post, but wanted to go for a more realistic feeling, especially towards the foreign idols. enjoy my brainrot. also there needs to be more wish content on here i beg

yuta - naishinno 

this man would definitely call you ‘gorgeous’, ‘divine’, or ‘princess’. but he’d prefer and be more comfortable to say such words in his native tongue. he also found out how much you enjoyed hearing him speak japanese, so sometimes on purpose he’ll sneak up behind you and whisper, “naishinno…'' (meaning princess in japanese)  startling you but also making your ears turn pink. yuta also has no problem with using the pet name within earshot of others, and as much as you protest, he assures you that no one really understands.

ten - mi mi 

hear me out guys. hear me out. ten our beloved cat mom would definitely call you something relating to cats. he’s not calling you “kitten” because um that’s kinda cringe… but he would go for something cuter. “mao mi” is the chinese word for cat, (I KNOW HE'S THAI. BEAR WITH ME OKAY) and people usually refer to kittens as “mi mi” (it’s like the most basic name an owner can give to their cat too) most of the time, nicknames are usually duplicated characters, and mi mi is also a very common nickname for girls. it also means ‘tits’. so ten decided that was the best nickname in the world and he was an absolute genius for coming up with it, and so now you’re stuck with being called his “mi mi” for life. good luck. 

jaehyun - cara mia/mi amor/ma cherie 

jaehyun LOVES pet names. it’s a rare feat if he ever calls you by your first name. ‘sweetheart’, ‘darling’, ‘honey’. he uses them all. but jaehyun is a classy bitch, and he likes to keep things fancy, so his favorites are using different languages, just because it somehow sounds more expensive and full of taste and that’s exactly what he feels you deserve. some of his favorites include: “cara mia” the italian words for ‘my beloved’; “mon amour” & “mi amor” the french and spanish words for ‘my love’; and finally, “ma cherie” the french words for ‘darling/sweetheart’. (stream mon amour by gemini guys)

renjun - qin ai de/qin qin/lao po 

okay yes renjun is using chinese, but not straight away into the relationship. let’s get that cleared up out of the way. he’ll initially start with ‘my dearest’, and uses his sweet voice to his advantage. “qin ai de y/n, could you do something for me real quick? pretty please?” but eventually as the relationship progresses on and he feels more comfortable, he’ll start dropping the “lao po” (‘wife’ in chinese) on you, which initially comes as a culture shock, because you haven’t even thought of getting to that stage yet. renjun teaches you of how common it is in china for non-married couples to call each other husband and wife, and even teaches you how to say ‘lao gong’ (husband)

jaemin - pookie

once jaemin discovers this word it’s joeover for you. one day you accidentally call him, ‘pookie’ to his face (which is what you would often use when referring to him around others) and he is so intrigued by the word he demands an explanation as to what it means. and when he realizes it’s true purpose, it’s true meaning, he’ll be taking that word to the GRAVE. and this brat uses it EVERYWHERE. on text, in person, in front of your friends. he will never spare you the pain and embarrassment. but he just wants to let you know how much he loves you, truly. his pookie <3

chenle - bao bei

immediately into your relationship chenle throws around ‘babe’ and ‘baby’ like crazy. this man knows what he wants because he quickly found out that if he slurred his words while saying, “bao bei a~” you would fold immediately. not afraid of saying it in front of others because the only one who understands are the c-liners (but eventually everyone catches on) chenle also somehow makes it seem so casual and natural. ‘bao bei’ also directly translates to treasure, and he’ll occasionally add in a ‘xiao’ (little) at the beginning when praising you or giving you compliments.

riku/sakuya - pan-san

I was originally just going to do riku, but figured i’d just shove these two together, but mostly write about riku.

sakuya and riku both like bread, the only difference is that while both want to work at a bakery, sakuya cannot cook to save his life and riku can actually bake. these two actually share so much in common it's actually insane, for one being absolute shits in general. regardless, ‘pan’ means bread and ‘pan-san’ is actually so cute and it rolls off the tongue really well. (i was originally going to say ‘pan-pan’ but a quick google search said no.) 

although riku enjoys teasing you, he still wants you to enjoy the pet name given to you. ‘bread’ is sweet, it is simple, and it is certainly delicious. literally the best nickname anyone could ever have and you should be grateful. but you don’t seem as pleased as he is. you have to process that your boyfriend is naming you after bread. not even like ‘cupcake’ or ‘sugar cookie’ or something else, just. bread. but after riku yaps about it for an hour, adding in compliments and phrases, you give in, and allow yourself to be called bread.

Chenle wanted you to start on something simple, like cookies. Baking wasn’t hard, you couldn’t set the kitchen on fire unless you forgot about the cookies, and he would be there to make sure that wasn’t going to happen.

Or so he thought. 

“You can eat the dough right?” You asked him carefully scooping a bit of the dough up with your finger.

“Yes, but did you wash your hands?” Chenle carefully eyed your finger as it slowly made contact with your mouth.

“Of course I did!” You beam at him, and he can’t help but crack a smile. “Wait… this is so good… try some…” 

He watches you as you once again dip your fingers into the leftover batch of dough, scooping up more from the bowl, and walked over to you in one swift motion. “What are y-?” He had little time to react however, before you promptly shoved the cookie dough into his mouth. 

“Tastes sweet right?” You asked him, clearly unfazed. 

Chenle’s cheeks were practically flushing red, “A little warning next time?” 

The corners of your mouth lifted up with a smirk, “What? You’re perfectly fine with whatever we did last week, but you can’t handle a bit of this?” 

“It’s not… Stop that…” He stammered out, unable to respond. 

“Relax. I love teasing you. It’s so easy, you know that right?” 

Although he was normally the one bullying his friends, it seems as he had flipped his switch when it came to you. (Recently though, it’d seemed as though he was the one being subject to jokes ever since you were introduced to the table)  “Yeah… I guess… Alright…” 

Chenle couldn’t practically believe that you two had gone from strangers to lovers in practically a couple of weeks, nor did he imagine you would ever reciprocate these feelings back. It seemed as if there had been many events in between that drew you two closer together. Call it fate, call it bad luck, but good things had certainly followed. Not that he didn’t feel guilty at least, knowing he had been the cause for probably half of your misery these few days. 

“Thanks for taking my mind off of things, certainly been having a rough couple of weeks…” You gave him an endearing smile, once again eating another spoonful of cookie dough.

“Did you want to continue to be distracted, or talk about it?” Ever since you had arrived at his house, you two had not mentioned a single word about Haechan and his most recent relapse. Chenle had decided to give you time and space to talk about it when you wanted to, and instead allowed you to focus on the task of baking the cookies first. Now that the cookies were in the oven you two had a few minutes to spare while waiting for them to finish. 

You thought to yourself for a couple of moments, before turning to look at him with a determined look on your face, “It’s okay, we can talk about it.” 

Taking a seat, Chenle eagerly waited to hear what you had to say about the situation. He couldn’t help but feel curious as to what exactly happened. 

“So almost 2 years ago, it was just me, Jaem, Yuqi, and Haechan.” You began, “And it was sort of awkward for me, since I’m younger than them. Yuqi’s the oldest so she kind of takes on a motherly figure sometimes towards us, and Jaem and Haechan are in the same grade.” 

Chenle hadn’t expected you to launch into your friend group’s history, but was interested regardless. 

You continued on, “But Haechan always somehow made us feel? Connected? He always bridged that gap between our ages. Probably since he acts so immature half the time, but it was so nice. Regardless, we actually used to go out partying all the time, Haechan and Yuqi especially. As you can see, we don’t really anymore.” 

“Is that why you had an aversion to attending dejun’s party a couple of weeks ago?” 

“Yeah, it mostly stems from the past issues. You see, Haechan got hooked on LSD at this time. At first, we didn’t think much on it. He casually used it, and it wasn’t very often, so we kind of just tolerated it?” Chenle nodded attentively as you carried on, “But eventually it got bad, like… really bad… I…”

He latched onto your hand, gripping it softly with his own palm, and looked to you for support. Chenle didn’t say it out loud, but his eyes seemed to say that you didn’t have to continue if you wanted to. 

Determined to finish, you smiled at him and returned to your story, “He would go through… many episodes. It was the worst. Sometimes it would be fine, and he could be clean for, a couple of weeks, and sometimes… he’d go back to that shitty state once again. He’d go in and out of rehab multiple times… and his mother… We really liked his mom and she liked us, but she just… practically gave up on him. It was so… heartbreaking… Like how could you, ever just? I don’t know. I don’t understand? Your son?” 

You had tears in your eyes at this point, and Chenle couldn’t bare it any longer, as he grabbed you and embraced you into a hug, his fingers stroking your hair slowly. “It’s okay… He got better right? Didn’t he?” 

“He did… and we all helped him, Jaem especially. He helped him get into rehab, and stood by him most of the time. Really it was all in thanks to Jaemin that Haechan was able to get better. And he’s been clean for about a year and a half.” You stared deeply into his eyes, “And that’s why we rarely attend parties anymore.” 

“And now? What happened now?”

“Honestly, I’m not entirely sure. I just found out that the supplier of the drugs was Ten.” He raised an eyebrow, but you hurriedly finished, “But before you jump to any conclusions, we confirmed that Ten had no clue he was selling Haechan any drugs. “Well you’ve dealt with so much shit recently. With getting run over, to being stalked, to dealing with one of your closest friends relapsing, you’ve been through a lot. Honestly it’s so admirable, how much you’ve been able to deal with and still stay strong. I love you for that actually.”  This time your face was flushing, instead of the other way around. And it didn’t help that Chenle had started placing small butterfly kisses on your forehead, but you were perfectly content with that anyways.

However you two were suddenly startled by a loud beep from the kitchen.

Chapter 2

As Mariposa walks through the hallway she sees multiple arches on the left side, they all seem to lead to the same big living room, which has three couches around a coffee table and two more couches further back in the room. On her right side she passes a door with a glass window, where the inside looks like a meeting room. Further down the hall she sees two doors on the right side, one on the left and in the middle there is another archway, this one leads to a room with a big table. It kind of looks like the eating area and she remembers Jaemin telling her that he eats with all of his family at the same time. The doors on the right have a name engraved in them. So Mariposa beliefs the door on the right is most likely to be the kitchen door. She thus decides to enter the room and look for Kun. However she doesn’t see Kun, there are two other men instead.

“Hello, I am looking for Kun? Jae told me he would be in the kitchen,” Mariposa shyly explains to the two men. The man with the black hair nods his head, he seems to understand her question. The man with the brown hair however just looks confused. He asks Mariposa which Jae told her this information. “You have multiple people named Jaemin?” Mariposa responds in disbelief, both men start laughing.

“No, but we do have a Jaehyun and a Jaemin. So we didn’t really understand who you were referring to, but we understand now. I am Johnny and this is Doyoung. Kun however went towards Taeyong’s office. So why were you looking for him?” The brown haired man asks, while the other man, Doyoung, is still trying to regain himself.

“Well, Kun was supposed to tell me about everything that is going on here. Well actually Jaemin would do that, but he followed someone else into an office,” Mariposa explained. Johnny gestures Mari to sit down in front of him, while Doyoung takes a seat next to him.

“Since we don’t know what you know already, I will start with the basics. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask them. By the way, do you want anything to drink?” Johnny asks, getting up from his seat and getting some cups. As the man stands up, Mariposa realizes how tall he is, she suddenly gets a bit intimidated by him. Such a tall man, who is part of the mafia, he can’t be nice, can he? “So we will start with who we are. We are NeoCityTeam, but most people know us as NCT. We are a big organization, with multiple units working separately from each other. We have four main units. The first one is NCT 127, then we have NCT dream and WayV, lastly we have NCT U. NCT 127 is the unit that is based here in Seoul, from here we try to make new ties outside of South-Korea. 127 consists of mostly the older members, we handle most of the actually fighting and stuff like that. When a connection to another place is made, it is necessary to maintain it, that is where other units come in. We only have a China based unit for now, but Taeyong is negotiating with the Japanese mafia. WayV handles our contact with the Chinese mafia. Then lastly we have the Dreamies, they are the youngest members we have. They are mostly doing undercover work or other things around the base, nothing too gruesome or cruel. Jaemin is part of the Dreamies. Lastly we have NCT U, the united unit. This is when Taeyong just picks random members to work on a certain assignment, no matter which group they normally operate with.” Johnny explains. As he ends his explanation Mariposa wonders who Taeyong is and why he decides these things. So as Doyoung asks whether she has any questions, she tells him this.

“Well Taeyong is our leader, he makes all the big decisions,” Doyoung answers. Mariposa nods, telling the two men that she is just curious to know what all of the men are doing. “Since we are 23 in total right now, I guess it would be easier for you to learn everyones function as you meet them. That way you can pair the name and function to a face. We will start with us. I am Doyoung, that is Johnny and we are part of 127. I am the guns specialist, while Johnny is a hand to hand combat soldier also training possible new members. Jaemin is a undercover agent, who is focusing on negotiating. Kun is the leader of WayV, our medic and also the person who does most of the cooking in the house. I believe Jeno and Yangyang were also in the car with you? Jeno is part of dream. He is also an undercover agent and he makes sure we have enough explosives. Yangyang is a member of the Chinese unit, where he mostly works as undercover agent and as a hacker. You will meet the other members later today.”

Just when Doyoung finished, Jaemin entered the kitchen. “hii kid, how did it go?” Johnny question the younger boy, ruffling through his hair. Jaemin just huffs at him, knowing Johnny is teasing him. “okay, sorry I asked,” Johnny genuinely apologizes, giving the boy a hug. “we explained a few things to Mariposa, maybe you wanna do the rest?” Jaemin nods and the two elder men leave the kitchen.

“So what should I tell you?” Jaemin wonders as he sits down next to Mariposa, putting his arm around her shoulder. Mariposa just shrugs her shoulders.

“I think they explained a lot already, but I was wondering if we could meet your other brothers and maybe you can give me a tour through the house.”

“Yes, good idea. Let’s do that! So right now we are in the kitchen, as you know. As you can see we are now sitting at a dinner table, this is the smaller dining table, mostly used for breakfast or for when the women in the house have their monthly girl dinner. As you will see tonight. Now let me show you the rest of the first floor.” Jaemin explains as he stands up and walks towards one of the two doors in the kitchen. “This door will leads to the hallway and is probably how you entered the room. This one, on the left, is the door to the dining room,” Jaemin says and opens the door. Excited to explore the house, Mariposa follows Jaemin. Once they enter the dining room Mariposa is in awe by the size of the table. She knew Jaemin has a big group of people surrounding him, but seeing that they eat dinner on such a big table is astonishing. “Now let’s continue, If we go back to the hallway, we see two studies across the kitchen. These are for Taeil and Taeyong. This hallway leads to poison room. We won’t enter today, but maybe some other time,” Jaemin continues casually, while pointing towards the hallway on the left. On the right is the living room, Jaemin explains that with this many people living in one house they needed a lot of couches, which is why this room has so many. Across the living room is the glass door that Mariposa saw earlier. “That is the meeting room, whenever we have something big planned, Taeyong holds all meetings in this room.” Then the two are back at the main entrance of the house. Jaemin quickly explains that the other hallway leads to the gym, a training room and the garage. So up they go. “All younger members sleep on the first floor of the building. So we are with ten of us right now, but there are some rooms empty. The second one to the left is my room,” Jaemin explains. He continues telling that the two rooms next to the stairs, going to the third floor, are another two studies, one for Mark and one for Kun. They don’t go upstairs, since there is nothing important really besides more rooms. “Maybe now we can go to the garage or training room, some of my brothers should be there,” Jaemin mentions as they walk back down. Mariposa is overwhelmed by all the new information, so she just nods, going along with whatever Jaemin is saying.

“Hi Jaemin! Are you here to do some training?” a smaller man with multiple tattoos and longer black hair ask Jaemin as they enter the training room. With the mention of Jaemin’s name another person peeks up from the back of the room and comes sprinting forward.

“Jae! How was your day?”

“Hello Chenle, my day is pretty good so far. How is yours?” Jaemin asks hugging one of his younger brothers. Chenle explains how he has to train with Ten because of something he said to Taeyong, he doesn’t even notice Mariposa. Ten on the other hand, does notice her. He stares straight at her, Mari just shyly waves at Ten. Hiding behind Jaemin. “Oh yeah, Chenle, Ten I almost forgot. This is Mariposa, my girlfriend,” Jaemin says, smiling from ear to ear.

“Oh hello, my name is Chenle,” the boy with the red hair says. After shaking hands with Mariposa he just skips away, back to his place at the back of the room. Ten also introduces himself and tells Mariposa not to worry about the weird boy.

After some small talk Jaemin and Mariposa head towards the next room. The garage. As they open the door, loud music welcomes them. It is a very big garage with 15 cars in multiple colors, from multiple brands. However she sees no one in the room. “Jae!” Jaemin screams, that must be the Jaehyun that Johnny and Doyoung talked about. Suddenly a cart comes riding out from underneath on of the cars, with a man on top of it. The man has a tool in his hand and something black on his face. That must be motoroil or something. Mariposa has no understanding of cars, so it could basically be anything.

“Hello there, my name is Jaehyun. I am in charge of making sure these pretty cars are still working correctly. I guess you must be Mariposa, Johnny told me about you. Are you enjoying yourself?” Jaehyun asks, whiping the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.

“Hello Jaehyun, yes, I am Mariposa. Nice to meet you! I don’t know if I can ask. But I am going to do it anyway. Besides fixing the cars, is there something else you do for the team?” Mariposa shyly asks. She doesn’t know whether this is an appropriate question, but she is curious. Jaehyun tells her, that her question is no problem. He focuses on the cars and making good deals, negotiating with other mafia organizations. However he explains that he can also do some hand to hand combat and is one of the better shooters. “Thanks for answering my question. Jaemin and I are going to look around some more. But I will see you later today,” Mariposa responds and Jaemin agrees with her. He grabs her hand and shows her the way to the next location. They spend a big portion of the afternoon walking around the house, introducing all members that are home to Mariposa.
