Some amusing art in Matsumoto
In my previous post, I mentioned I was taking the train from Nagano to Tokyo, but my destination for the day was actually Matsumoto. There's quite a lot to see there, mainly the castle, but I'll get to that another time. For now, I'd just like to share some lighter, more amusing details.
Tumblr media
This awesome statue depicts two samurai frogs riding on toadback - the poor thing seems to be overwhelmed! That would be because the street by this river has adopted the frog as a mascot. According to local history, the river used to have loads of frogs, making it a rather noisy place (I bet, if my memories of Futami, Mie, are anything to go by!). But after a typhoon caused a flood, the frogs left for higher ground and didn't go back to the river, so loads of frog statues were erected instead.
Tumblr media
On the bridge near the entrance to this street and near the castle, other creatures could be found: "Y-cats", created by Yamazaki Takashi. I think this was a temporary exhibit.
Tumblr media
Oh alright, I'll tease the castle...

First impressions of the members:
scan credit to @deg-conce-blog
Kyo 💛
Both Die and Kaoru first met him in the Restroom of some live house. Die said the first time he met Kyo, he had his hair straight up and looked like a little devil, and Kyo spoke to Die first. The second time they met, Die thought Kyo looked very cute as he didn’t have make up on, and he was very quiet among his old bandmates, Die was surprised with the gap.
Kaoru first impression of Kyo was when he was putting make up on at some restroom, Kyo and his bandmates came in with full make up (they also rode the train with full make up and costumes), but when Kaoru was going to greet Kyo’s band after the live show, he found out that Kyo already went home because he felt cold lol.
Shinya 🩷
Die: Die and Shinya actually encounter each other during the event between their previous previous bands, but they didn’t notice each other’s existence. However, in their first conversation, Shinya would only say “uhm” or “yes” lol (Kao: he’s talked a lot during train rides etc though…)
Kaoru: I first met Shinya and Kyo when they were in their previous band and they invited me to join in lol. Shinya had short hair at the time (Die: Ah, when he was still a teenager, he often wore school uniform to practice…). After practice, we would ride the train together (for about 4 stations), he didn’t speak a single word and had a reserved manner, Kaoru wondered if he was even in the same band with the other bandmates lol. When they were waiting for the train, he was being polite and asked things like “should we sit on the bench while waiting?” (Die: Feels like the first Date!)
Toshiya 💙
Die: he first saw Toshiya when he was performing with his previous band, Die’s impression of him is a bassist with blue hair, tall and slender.
Kaoru: and when I greeted him, he didn’t have make up on so he looked really young (like a child), we didn’t talk much but I thought he is the kind of bandman who performs (gave a lot of fanservices). After their liveshow in Nagano, his band and ours gather together for fireworks, but me and Kyo didn’t want to do it so we just sat there and zoned out (Die: I slept in the car at the time). Then Toshiya came to us and asked many questions, such as “is your band doing well?”, I understood that he was interested in our band but he even asked more personal questions like “are the members getting along well?”. He kept his ponytail from the live performance so he looked quite cute, but I thought “this dude is remarkable”.
Die: I didn’t remember anything from that event, the first time I spoke to him was when he went to see our live show in Tokyo, he was quiet but he seemed normal when he spoke.
Kaoru: Yeah he’s quite normal when he started speaking. But since he’s very tall, he often stands out.
The time he came to Osaka to see us, we were planning to form Dir en Grey, so I told him to be careful and maintain a low profile. But because of his height, whenever I looked at the crowd I saw his head sticking out (lol). Everyone was wondering why does Toshiya from Nagano’s band came all the way to see us, rumors about him joining us started spreading within our fandom. I also heard that people often mistaken me and Toshiya since we both had blue and long hair lol.
Kaoru 💜 & Die ❤️
Kaoru thought Die was very intimidating at first.
Die said when he first saw Kaoru’s (previous) band name, it was a cute name so he thought they’re an all-female band. But when they arrived, they were all dudes that had their hair straight up. They also came out of a Red sport car (Kaoru: we just occasionally rode on that car…).

DRV3 Characters birthplace headcanons
Hello! Today I'd like to use meagre clues from canon, along with my own knowledge of Japan, to try and pinpoint where the DrV3 characters were born and raised. Let's jump right in!
Rantaro Amami -- I'll say Karuizawa(軽井沢) in Nagano. It's a popular mountain celebrity place, where I believe Bill Gates has a house too. His parents are rich. I can't confirm this because it's very much possible he was born outside of Japan, but if it was Japan, this is my best bet.
Tenko Chabashira -- I would say somewhere below Tokyo, in Kansai. This is supported by Tenko's apparent lack of knowledge of modern "hip" stuff she would know if she originated closer to Japan's capital. I'll say Wakayama, since Akidio originated there. Again, nothing consolidates this.
Shuichi Saihara -- Tokyo. His dad is a director, mom is an actress. A place where the film industry booms and mingles is the capital itself, possibly Ginza, Shibuya, or Shinjuku. As a person born in Tokyo, I'm quite sure Shuichi was from there too, probably in one of the many affluent neighborhoods in the Japanese town. Where his uncle lived, though, I have no idea.
Kaede Akamatsu -- I have proof that Kaede was from Yokohama, a prefecture close to Tokyo. It's an industrial district where many people commuting to Tokyo might live, and… Kaede's old school, Shining Star International High School, is a reference to a school located in Yokohama.
Korekiyo Shinguji -- Canon insists that he's from Osaka with his high school referencing a famous former all-girls school, but I don't really think so. You see, people from Osaka and the general Kinki district(yeah, I get the pun) have the accent, the particular type of dialect. Yasuhiro Hagakure had it. Kiyo does not have a glimmer of it in the Japanese dialect. Therefore, I think Kiyo is from Kyoto, the widely regarded cultural center of Japan, where many of his anthropological interests lie.
If anyone has any other clues as to where other Drv3 characters hail from, please please please mention them in the chat and in the asks!

Mile is definitely missing Apo
Yes, this is a follow-up because the old post was already long and weird enough.
So today we got confirmation from May on IG that Apo is indeed in Japan with the team and they were in the Snow Monkey Park in Nagano together:
Tumblr media
Apo's new haircut makes me wonder what kind of work he has in Japan and yes I am still convinced it is work-related, especially after Nichapat (CEO of The Venture Management) posted that she is/was in Japan as well. So it's probably a big thing, maybe some guest role for Apo in a Japanese production? Maybe a Japanese brand deal/partnership?
Well why did I choose this headline? Because guess what Mile posted in the meantime? A monkey and a reel about a dog getting a haircut. If that's a coincidence than I am a mermaid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Furthermore he posted this about some green tea crepes in Tokyo, but deleted it shortly afterwards. Is he trying to be less obvious? Because it doesn't work.
Tumblr media
A few hours later: The same kind of dessert Apo had in May's IG Reel suddenly appears in Mile's side account IGs.
Tumblr media
The next morning: Do I even need to say anything about this pic he shared?

Happy biiiiirthdaaaaay Hitsugayaaaa お誕生日おめでとう!
Would you like to start your day with tea with your vice-captain:
Tumblr media
Presented here in my cup that in 2020 was re-christened "the Hitsugaya cup <3" and will likely remain so forevermore, and in a duck cup my co-blogger gave to me this year, and which I immediately put into fanfic as "Matsumoto's weird cup" because I absolutely love it. I would excerpt the scene, but it turns out Hinamori's thoughts about the cup are interspersed within a lot of other stuff, so just know that it's Matsumoto's Weird Duck Cup.
For lunch, can I interest you in some oyaki??
Tumblr media
Oyaki are a regional food from Nagano, which is an interior mountain region in Japan, a few hours west of Tokyo. I've been there exactly once, but I absolutely loved it, because MOUNTAINS and SUBARU COUNTRY:
Tumblr media
Because of this+its westerly general location+Hitsugaya and Hinamori's names I model my version of Junrinan off of it (though the main village we see is in the flatlands, not the mountains themselves). I also HC that Isshin sent Hitsugaya off to Actual Nagano for his Gotei hazing/30-day walkabout in the Living World, because he knew it would feel similar to Junrinan.
Oyaki are dumplings, traditionally cooked with irori, or those traditional square stove pits you see in the middle of people's houses in old-timey anime. I do not have one of those so I made mine the way you'd make any other dumpling, in a frying pan on a stove, frying first and then steaming. You can freeze them to re-steam later, which is what I did this weekend. These ones have miso eggplant and bamboo shoot in them, because that's what I had, though the only oyaki I have written into fanfic have pickled mustard greens in them.
I would excerpt that, but Hitsugaya is not actually in most of that scene, doesn't say a single thing when he is, and the narrating POV (Kensei) doesn't care about him. So I will instead say that in the scene, the gang is making oyaki at Matsumoto's direction, because she's a well-traveled No Reservations type who's familiar with Junrinan cooking. It's an intentional choice and an act of care, and even if no one else in the scene knows it, least of all the narrator, Hitsugaya does.
And to round out the day, an afternoon potato snack?
Tumblr media
Yaki imo aren't particularly Hitsugaya-related, I suppose, except that it's a fall/winter thing and his birthday is just before the winter solstice, and right at that turning point. And I did write him and Orihime eating potatoes together once. *I* associate them with walking around in the woods when it's cold as shit, which in my mind is Just Junrinan Things.
So I went for a celebratory birthday potato walk on Sunday! And got lost in the woods for a while. I say this as though I didn't have an Avenza map the entire time, but the trails are often less-trail like than 'there are blazes on trees sometimes' and it took a while to re-find the blazes in the dark. I had a second emergency potato with me should I have needed it, though!

some info about the various organizations in coe, as seen from the artbook (please let me know if you see any errors, i was a bit careless with romanization as you can tell & this is very rough)
Otowa Detective Agency They do business as Otowa Search System, LLC (kk otowa search system). A privately-owned detective agency in Nagoya managed by Genshi Otowa. When they expanded and moved their main office to Tokyo, the Nagoya office became their country one. Because they've been trustworthy at handling their jobs, they've gotten more and more customers, and because they listen to the will of their employees, they've managed to recruit and keep a lot of talented people on staff. Despite the fact that they're a small-scale company now, the requests haven't stopped. They have six people at the Nagoya branch, and about 30 at the Tokyo one. Path to Empireo
It started as the self-improvement group 'People of Akasha', and became a new organization with a new religion based on Catholicism. It wasn't a very large-scale group- around 2015, there were only about 300 registered believers in the country. The incident where the Tokyo and Chuubu branches exploded claimed many of their lives, completely destroying the organization itself. It seemed like the remaining survivors died natural deaths around the same time as well. They said they're researching the path to 'guide humanity to Empireo'.
Ice Cooler
A pharmaceutical company founded by the son of a pharmacist, Rangiri Utsugi. The position of president is inherited, so Rangiri passed it down to his son Keiichi, and he passed it down to his son Uenari. The company grew rapidly after WW2, with their main product being OTC medications. They were very famous for how well their medicines worked, but gradually said medicines started to work less and less. At the same time, there started to be a lot of 'suspicious' things about their medicine, as well as 'incidents' related to it, leading to public loss of trust in them. Before long, they were bought out by a foreign investor, their leadership was completely changed, and in 2016 the Ice Cooler name was no more.
Tranzykid Institute
An integrated sciences institute based in the American state of Kentucky. It's produced many Nobel Prize winners and candidates, and has quite a bit of influence as a research institute. However, all the departments act extremely independently of each other, and there are some laboratories among them that haven't revealed what they're actually working on.
Theosophy University
It was originally founded as a Catholic institution, but currently the management (Theosophy Institute of the Arts and Sciences) runs it as a private university. The curriculum focuses on raising students to be talented and successful in a global environment, with a strong focus on linguistics. It's not limited to Catholic-only students, either. There are people from all over the world attending, and many graduates have become famous in their own right. It's well-known enough as a university that everyone's heard of it. Other than their Tokyo campus, they have a Nagano campus as well.
Fondazione Riddle
Founded by Beniamino Riddle. Based in Italy. The current heir is the president's son, Rodney Riddle. They mainly provide financial support to organizations doing R&D in the field of science. Tranzykid is one of them. Their aim is 'For the world, and for the peace we have now' (but...).
A/Z/MA
Founded by Shirou Azuma. Their base business was Azuma Bookstore, a publishing company, but they're a corporation that handles all sorts of things in the entertainment industry. They've expanded into publishing, animation, movies, and various content services. Currently, no one working at the company besides the president is from the Azuma family themselves, but the current president, Wadachi Azuma, is a direct descendant of Shirou.
Nanamidou Bookstore, LLC
A bookstore chain under the Igarashi group. They used to only sell books, but they've branched out into music, videos, various media sales, and rentals, too.
Gojo Corporation/Igarashi Group
They're a business group that's made a name for themselves by expanding into every area. Despite the Gojo Conglomerate breaking up during WW2, they reorganized afterwards, and succeeded greatly. A major contractor in Tokai, Gojo, is also part of their group. Their most recent large-scale construction work is the commercial building in front of the Nagoya station. They've also done remodelling for A/Z/MA (LLC)'s Chuubu Branch office.
PMSC/GrassRod
A PMSC based in America. It recruits personnel from all sorts of countries, and there's a rumor that they'll send mercenaries who 'aren't afraid of death' anywhere. They're currently active, but the only thing that can be confirmed about them is that there is someone actually managing and controlling them. No other details are known.

I've made the decision to stay here in Japan for at least another year, and I have a few goals to make me feel like I'm experiencing life here to the fullest. Some (most) of them are silly little goals that feel big because of the language barrier (exacerbated by my natural shyness), but some of them are more exciting goals for sure!
Get my hair cut
Take a ballet or other dance class
Get a library card
Have a 10-minute conversation with a native speaker in Japanese that's not an italki lesson
Make a new Japanese friend
Go to the dentist
Go to a prefecture I haven't been to before*
Sing a Japanese song at karaoke
Go skiing in Zao Onsen (or some other nearby resort)
Try to get a debit card
Be able to point to every prefecture on a map and name their capital cities**
*Prefectures I went to in 2023:
Tokyo
Aichi
Gifu (briefly)
Yamagata
Miyagi
Chiba (I'm not sure going to the airport counts as going somewhere tbh, but it looked very nice from the train window!)
Prefectures I'd like to/plan to visit in 2024
Hokkaido
Aomori
Osaka
Kyoto
Nara
I'm hoping to either do a little tour around Hokkaido/Tohoku in summer OR a little tour around Kansai in winter, depending on what time I can get off when and if I have to go back to the UK in that time. And I may go somewhere for a couple of days for Golden Week, but I've not decided.
**Prefectures I can currently point to on a map:
Hokkaido (capital: Sapporo ☑️)
Aomori (capital: Aomori ☑️)
Akita (capital: Akita ☑️)
Iwate (capital: Morioka ◻️)
Yamagata (capital: Yamagata ☑️)
Miyagi (capital: Sendai ☑️)
Fukushima (capital: Fukushima ☑️)
Niigata (capital: Niigata ◻️)
Chiba (capital: Chiba ☑️)
Okinawa (capital: Naha ◻️)
I also know the rough locations of: Gunma, Tokyo, Ibaraki, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Yamanashi, Saitama, Aichi, Gifu, Ishikawa, Nagano and Fukuoka

Summary: After hearing the news that you'll have to move to Tokyo, leaving your boys behind in Hyogo, you had troubles falling asleep; but to not trouble your team, you decided to not say anything now. Suna becomes way bolder with his actions, without knowing that this could be his last chance to win your heart before you leave.
1st year: Suna x reader; Miya twins x reader [platonic!]
[Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4] -> Second Year
The coach booked a gym for the guys so they could practice in the morning, so while they were warming up, you look up the opponents for today’s match. Kamomedai High School, Nagano’s representative.
When the practice finished, you walk around the gym to make sure that nobody left something behind, a good idea because you found a bag with shoes left on the locker room
“Chibi-chan can we talk for a minute?” says Suna from behind you.
“Shit. I need to buy you a collar with bells on it Rin, you’re too quiet sometimes”
“That or you just want to see me with a collar on?” he smirks “As much as I would like to know what you’re into that’s not why am I here. So, can we talk?”
“Sure” you say with a red face after his implications
“What happened to you? I can see that you’re exhausted” he cups your face with his hand
“I couldn’t sleep well last night, that’s all. Don’t worry too much Rin”
“You can fool the rest of these idiots, but not me. I know that there’s something else bothering you. Come on, tell me what’s wrong”
“I’m okay, seriously”
“Yn”
“I…can’t tell you yet” you sigh. You knew that he will not fall for it anyway “let me deal with it by myself first, I promise to tell you after”
“Can you deal with it alone though? Sometimes you need help with some things” he caresses your cheek lovingly
“I just need to process it first. If I need help, you’ll be the first one I’ll talk to, I promise”
“…Fine, I’ll let you be for now. But please tell me if it gets too hard, I care a lot about you” Suna says seriously, looking at your eyes and taking your hand with his other one, and while you were flustered, you weren’t able to look away.
“I-I know. I care about you too”
After that you feel that Suna starts to get closer, bringing his head lower. His eyes go between your lips and your eyes, smiling as he get closer and closer. Before you can process what it’s happening, and when he was millimeters away from your lips, you hear some shoes getting closer.
“CHIBI-CHAN! SUNARIN! We hafta go!” you move away at the voice of Atsumu, letting go of Suna just on time before Atsumu enters.
“Yeah, yeah, I found some shoes in the locker” you say walking towards him
“I bet they’re Samu’s, that idiot always forgets something. Why are ya so red?”
“Just Rin being Rin, you know how annoying he can get” Atsumu looks at you confused, but lets it go as he pass his arm through your shoulders
“If I’m annoying what the hell is he?” asks Suna walking towards the door, hiding his blushing face. The three of you go out of the gym fighting about whether Atsumu was annoying or not, much to the displeasure of the blonde one. You enter the bus and find that Osamu was indeed the owner of the bag, and after a playful scolding, you go back to your seat next to Suna. He passes you an earbud so you can listen to music together, a habit that you both got into after sitting together on every bus ride. You don’t miss the soft look in his eyes, the way his hands were taking yours with so much delicacy, the way he moved closer to you. As you go to the gym you start thinking, do you actually like Suna more than a friend? Was it just the moment? Or is it the fact that this is the first time something like this happened to you? You have no idea what to feel. You obviously like being with him, but is it more than just friendship?
You arrived at the tournament gym and went to find somewhere to eat, the team dividing into groups so everyone could eat whatever they wanted. You tag along with Atsumu, Osamu and Suna, as always
“CHIBI-CHAAAN!” you hear a scream before turning around, only to see your two favorite owls, one running to you with his arms open waiting for a hug.
“Bokuto-san!” you say pressing your face onto his chest while he wraps his arms around your body. You move away a little looking at the other one “Hi Akaashi”
“Hi Yn-chan, Bokuto-san let her breath” he says, making Bokuto let go of you and going to hi-5 the boys
“Chibi-chan let me buy you a t-shirt!”
“I have one already, thanks Bokuto-san” you show him the purple t-shirt you were wearing “and I am going to eat with the guys, we haven’t had lunch yet”
“Please! It’s going to be fast, I promise!”
“Bokuto-san it’s not going to let her go easily, why don’t you go and buy lunch while we go? I promise to take her to you as soon as we’re done” you hear Akaashi say to the boys
“Yeah, sounds good. We trust you Akaashi”
At the sound of that Bokuto takes your hand and pulls you to the t-shirt booth, Akaashi following closely.
While Akaashi is showing you some designs, two dudes with yellow and green uniforms appear next to you; one with curly hair who nods in your direction, and the other one who talks to Bokuto.
“Bokuto-san, how are you? Looking for a t-shirt?”
“Komori! Hi! I’m fine, ready to win against you! I’m buying a friend a t-shirt...Chibi-chan look at that one!”
“You already showed me that one Bokuto-san. It doesn’t fit me, it’s for kids” you say arriving to his side smiling in the direction of the bright uniforms
“But you’re so small! I bet you can fit!”
“Not because all of you are titans means that I’m going to fit in kids clothes, Bokuto-san”
“True! Chibi-chan this Komori-kun and Sakusa-kun. Guys this is chibi-chan!”
“Yn, I’m Yn. Nice to meet you”
“Hi! I’m Komori, this is Sakusa” the dude with funny eyebrows says with a warm smile meanwhile Sakusa barely looks in your direction “don’t mind him, he doesn’t like to interact with people, but he isn’t a bad person”
“I get it, I don’t really like people either. I chose one Bokuto-san, you sure want to buy it? You don’t have to…”
“Let me buy you something for once, Chibi-chan!”
“Bokuto-san, I’m sure Yn-chan is hungry, so let’s make it quick”
“Oh true! Let me buy it right away!” Bokuto says while walking away while Akaashi comes near you
“So, you’re their new manager? I haven’t seen you before” Komori asks you while waiting
“Ehh no, I’m Inarizaki’s manager, we met on a practice match”
“I see, it’s easy to become friends with Bokuto-san”
“Yeah, he's definitely an extrovert”
“I got the t-shirt! Now let’s go so you can eat Chibi-chan. Bye guys!” Bokuto grabs your hand pulling away one more time. You wave bye to the two boys while Akaashi follows behind once again. You arrived at the boys quite quickly, seeing a plate of ramen and an onigiri waiting for you.
“Thanks guys, how much was it?” you ask them to pay them back
“Don’t worry about it Chibi, it’s on me” says Suna
“Really? Thanks Rin” he smiles at you slightly
“We will leave now, good luck in your game guys. See you Yn-chan” Akaashi waves
“Bye Chibi-chan, bye guys!”
So much has happened in the past days that it felt like you haven’t properly talked in forever, so you ended up chatting until it was time for them to go and prepare for the match. While the guys stretch and do all their warm ups, you go to fill up their bottles, washing them up a bit and start refilling them when you hear someone talking nearby
“Hey, pretty girl. How are you?” says a dude with a white and pink uniform.
“Good” you answer shortly. You don’t like talking to people, let alone when they try to flirt, so you just continue washing and refilling the bottles.
“Want some help?”
“No”
“Then can I have your number?”
“No”
“C’mon pretty girl, let me…”
“Are you deaf? Leave her alone” you hear another voice from behind you, noticing a curly hair with yellow and green uniform
“Shit, it’s Sakusa” the dude whispers to himself “yeah, yeah I’ll go now”
“Thank you” you say to Sakusa bowing to him a little
“I haven’t seen anything yet, but I heard that your team beat Ushijima-san, how? Was he in a bad condition or something?” he asks immediately
“Ushijima-san? Ahh Shiratorizawa?” he nods, waiting for an answer “He looked pretty good to me. I would say he was a bit better than when he played with Seijoh. Why?”
“It’s weird that you guys won against him”
“He’s really good, his form is impeccable. But our team was a bit better this time”
He doesn’t say anything else so you just continue your job, assuming he left. You took a towel to dry the bottles and packed them up, but before you could take the it, a hand appeared.
“I thought you left”
“I’ll carry it. Let’s go” he says, ignoring you once again. You walk in silence towards the court, neither uncomfortable nor comfortable; however, the stares were even stronger now, either because of his loud uniform color or because he already was a respected player. Once you arrived to the court, he passes you the bag carefully
“Ehh thank you, for everything” you say bowing to him
“Try to not be alone for long, you’re…interesting and there's many creeps around” he tells you avoiding eye contact before walking away. You turn around to enter the court after proving that you’re their manager, and start setting everything up.
“Chibi-chan, you know him?” asks the captain
“I saw him when I was with Bokuto-san, he helped me out with a dude”
After a few minutes the match starts. Both teams were really strong, so nobody knew who was going to win. The fist set is extremely close, but Inarizaki manages to win it. You pass them their bottles and towels in the break while they talk about the set.
“We knew that they could change their block system, yet it’s still so annoying to deal with it”
“Yer’re doing good Aran-san, don’t worry”
The second set it’s just as long as the first one however this time it was won by Kamomedai, the last point made by the “little giant” of their team.
The third set went just as close as the other two, both teams doing everything to make a point or keep it alive. Kamomedai marks a point, making them go on a deuce again, the third one of this match. Kamomedai is the first to score a point after the deuce started, so the coach calls for the last time-out you had. The air felt more tense than in any other game before, even the twins were quieter than usual.
“C’mon guys, what happened? You are doing good. Don’t get too tense” says the coach
“You have practiced a lot, so give everything that you got so you don’t regret the result. You guys can do this. I know you can” you add with a smile
The guys' faces relax when they hear that, going back to the court while ruffling your hair, gaining the point back immediately. The deuce last longer than anyone expected, right now being 31-32 in Kamomedai's favor. After a few more passes from side-to-side, Atsumu sends the ball to Aran; it was a beautiful set, but the blockers were faster and managed to block it, scoring the final point for Kamomedai.
You look at the boys, some are on the floor, some are barely standing, but all of them had a defeated look on their faces. You tried to contain yourself from crying, the least that the boys needed was more sadness; you were doing quite well until you saw the team coming to where the coach and you were standing, tears down their faces. While the coach was saying his speech, some tears escaped your eyes before you could stop them.
“It may not have been the result you wanted, but I’m still extremely proud of all of you”
When you leave the court is when you see your 3 best friends' eyes get watery, also trying their best to not cry. You pulled them aside to give them a big hug.
“We didn’t win” pouts Atsumu
“Losing a match doesn’t mean your weak Tsumu, especially with such a good match. You’re only going to be weak if you can’t get up from this”
“Our chibi is always with the wise words huh?” chuckles Suna lightly
“Despite also being crying, ya put us before ya” adds Osamu, while Atsumu tightens his arms
“I love you guys. Let’s go, okay?”
You walk back to the food section, where the rest of the team and the coach were waiting. The guys had already calmed down a little on the way there, but you still decided to be close by.
“Since it’s Friday we can stay here for the weekend and watch the rest of the matches, or we can go back to Hyōgo tomorrow morning, you guys can decide this time” says the coach
“Should we stay?” asks the captain
“Yeah, we need to analyze our opponents for the next time” answers Atsumu, the rest of the team agrees to stay until the end of the tournament.
“Who’s playing right now?”
“Fukurodani should still be playing, they started a few minutes ago. Can we go and see them?” you ask. Even if you lost, Bokuto and Akaashi are still your friends.
“Sure, let’s go. It’s always amazing seeing Bokuto-san play”
You went to the seats where Fukurodani is playing. On the way there you can hear some whispers ‘Is that Inarizaki?’ ‘Yes, dude they were so good’ ‘I heard they lost though’ ‘They definitely were better than the other team’ ‘Kamomedai just got luck on their side this time’. You can tell that the boys heard them too from their confident smiles
“See? I told you were good. Everyone thinks so too”
You arrived to the seats, knowing how the twins act, sitting in the middle of the twins was a necessary step, while Suna was near all of your bags
“Who are they playing against?”
“Eiwa High”
“Have ya heard of them, Chibi-chan?” Atsumu asks
“Nope, why are you asking me?”
“I don’t know, ya always know everything about the team we’re against”
“Because she’s our manager, ya idiot” Osamu says annoyed
“If I am an idiot, so are ya! We grew up together!”
“Yeah, and I promised to not be like ya!” They started fighting like you weren’t in between them, making you sigh and roll your eyes
“Shut up” you say, hitting both of them in the back of their heads. Although it wasn't a hard hit, it was enough to make them stop and mutter a sorry “Why do I willingly deal with your asses?”
“Because ya love us” Atsumu rests his head on your shoulder
“She loves me more though” says Osamu, laying on your other shoulder too. Even though he was a bit more mature than Atsumu, they still share the same DNA, so he was just as immature sometimes.
“I think you guys are confusing the word love with tolerate” Suna shakes his head at the twins actions.
“This is why Rin is my favorite. Now shut up and let me watch the match” you pretend to be annoyed at them, not noticing Suna’s blushed face. Atsumu laughs, snuggling more into your neck.
“So mean, Chibi-chan, so mean” before you could say or do anything Fukurodani receives a ball too long, but before the ball can pass to the other side of the net Akaashi is able to set it to Bokuto, who scores the point that gives them the first set. At that, Atsumu straightens himself with a wide grin on his face, a loud ‘HEY, HEY, HEY’ is heard before the Fukurodani chant starts.
“How can we hear Bokuto-san from here?” Suna asks
“DID YA SEE HOW HE SET THE BALL?! I never knew Akaashi-kun could do that” Atsumu screams
“I did, that was good. Although Bokuto-san spike wasn’t like usual”
“Do ya think he is on his emo mode? He looks pretty good to me” Osamu says while looking at Bokuto, who’s now talking with Yuki.
“Chibi-chan, your phone is ringing” Suna hands you your phone. You look at it just to see Yuki’s name.
«Why do you have a phone in the court?» you ask her as soon as you accept the call
«Tell you later, Bokuto-san wants to know if you guys are here»
«Yes, we are. Directly above you»
Yuki ends the call and you see Bokuto searching for you, waving excitedly when he finds you. The match continues, now with Bokuto even more precise than before. The last point was longer, but Bokuto ends it with an amazing straight shot, right into the line.
“That was…awesome” you say in awe, it looked like Bokuto was flying for a second “Isn’t that what he was practicing in our matches?”
“Yes, but he missed the majority of them. The fact that he did it now out of all times” Osamu adds. And you can tell that Fukurodani was excited by it, screaming while they went to hug Bokuto and Akaashi.
“Anyways…Guys! Any other match you want to watch?” you ask them, making them look at the lineup to see the teams.
“I think we should call it a day” says the captain “we have to cheer for Bokuto-kun tomorrow too”
“Yeah, can we go and say something to them before going?” asks Aran
“I’m sure we can, besides Bokuto-san will whine if I don’t go to talk to him, and I don’t need another kid to babysit” you say to them while texting Yuki to know where they are, only hearing a ‘Rude’ from Suna “I’m going to the bathroom real quick, someone tell the coach on the way there, can anyone take my backpack please?”
“I got it. Want me to wait for ya?” Asks Osamu
“Nah, it’s fine, it’s just the bathroom. Go to the cafeteria, they should be there”
“Chibi-chan yer’re so cool!”
On your way there you feel some stares, probably due to the fact that Inarizaki had gained a massive support in the last games and your jacket had the name on it. As soon as you walked out of the bathroom, a dude appeared in front of you.
“Hello there, want some company?”
“Seriously? Again? I’m fine, thanks” you say before walking past him, not wanting to deal with the same thing twice in the day.
“Oi, oi why are you leaving so fast?” he grabs your arm. You tensed up, turning around and slapping his face as hard as you could.
“Don’t touch me” you say coldly
“Why was that for you little bit…'
“Your little what? Go ahead, finish the sentence” you hear behind you, a cold voice that sounds vaguely familiar
“Ehh, i-im going t-to go, yeah…sorry” mutters the dude looking scared
“We should stop meeting like this” Sakusa tells you when you turn around
“That was a good slap though” adds Komori with a thumbs up “Wait, stop meeting like this? He talked to you alone?”
“Kind of. In the morning a dude tried to flirt with me and he helped me with that too. It’s so annoying”
“See, I told you he wasn’t bad. Want us to walk you to your team?”
“Sure. Apparently, I can’t walk alone in this place without horny teenagers trying to get into my pants” you sigh while turning around to walk away
“So…your teammates didn’t want to wait for you or you told them not to?” asks Komori while going down the stairs, Sakusa remaining quiet.
“I told them not to, I didn’t think something would happen from the bathroom to the cafeteria”
“True, it’s a short walk. I don’t know how annoying it must be for you, but I also can’t fully blame them for trying” Komori says
“Why?”
“Well, you’re really pretty. Although forcing you into talking to them is a big no”
“Thanks Komori-san” you say blushing slightly by his comment
“Haha Komori-kun is fine, I’m pretty sure we all are first years anyway. You can call him Sakusa-kun too, right?
“Sure, it’s okay” answers Sakusa when you arrived to the cafeteria. Locating the boys was easy, considering that Atsumu was with Bokuto
“My boys are there. Thanks for walking me here, Komori-kun. Thank you for helping again, Sakusa-kun” you smile at them
“It’s fine Yn-chan, don’t worry. Let’s meet again!”
“Next time don’t walk alone anywhere when there are many men around. Be careful” adds Sakusa with a hint of a smile in his eyes before leaving. You walk to where the boys are, who thankfully didn’t notice anything, and give Bokuto a back-hug.
“You were so cool Bokuto-san”
“Chibi-chan! Thanks!”
You talked for a bit with Fukurodani, telling them that you will cheer for them now that you couldn’t play.
Tiredness was getting to you after not having a good night of sleep, but thankfully the captain noticed you and told the team to say their goodbyes. You gave a tight hug to Bokuto despite the fact that you would see him again tomorrow, but when you say bye to Akaashi, he takes your hand before whispering
“Yn-chan, everything’s good? I noticed some Itachiyama players arriving with you”
“Ah yeah, a dude tried to flirt with me and they helped me. But everything is good”
“Okay, I’ll trust your judgment. Tell us if anything happens, okay? Have a good night”
The tournament passes really fast, each match being more amazing than the other. Fukurodani won against Kamomedai just like they promised the day before, however they lost against Mujinazaka High, placing them in third place. The final match was in the evening, Itachiyama vs Mujinazaka, the two schools with the most prestige. You noticed that Sakusa's spikes weren’t as strong as his opponent, but he had something that made it extremely difficult to dig, but sadly, from the distance it was impossible to see what exactly was. Itachiyama ends up winning the tournament, seeing Sakusa with a proud smile on his face when you went to congratulate them.
It’s 7 am on Sunday, and you’re waiting for the coaches to do the final paperwork before leaving. Since it’s early everyone is half asleep, meaning that you are dealing with a clingy Atsumu, who is putting all his weight onto you. You enter the bus and sit next to Suna like always. As soon as you sit he pulls you closer to lay on him instead of the window, getting ready to fall asleep, so you just pass your arms through his waist and lay your head on his chest.
A few hours have passed when you feel Suna move a little. You open your eyes to look at him, who looks back with his eyes barely open.
“How are you awake Chibi-chan?” says with a raspy voice
“I couldn’t sleep, so I just stayed here listening to some stuff”
“You better be sleeping properly” he kisses your temple before letting go and stretching his arms “is there anyone else awake?”
“I don’t think so, it’s too quiet”
“Good” says while putting his head on your neck, hugging you “it’s my time to rest on you”
“I didn’t want to rest on you, you pulled me”
“Details” he mumbles, moving even closer. Despite not being the most comfortable position, you let him do whatever he wanted while you played with his hair. You felt him move a little, this time giving a little kiss on your neck, making you jump a little at the sudden contact “I don’t mind waking up like this”
“Good” you say not knowing what to do or how to react
“Can’t talk, pretty” he lifts his head to look at you smirking “did I got you nervous?”
“You wish” you look at the window to hide your blushed cheeks
“Oh really? Then you won’t mind me doing this” he takes your chin and makes you look at him. He was closer than expected, his lips a few centimeters away from yours.
“Idiot, this would fluster anyone”
“Yeah, whatever you say...” he somehow gets even closer, looking at your lips. You freeze in place while he still approaches, his lips about to touch yours
“Chibi-chan…ya awake?” whispers Osamu, letting a big yawn out. You took this opportunity to move away, standing up enough to look at him.
“Yeah, I am. What happened?”
“Do ya have something to eat on you? I’m hungry and my snacks are on my suitcase”
“Yeah, I have some cookies. Let me take them out” you take your backpack and stand up to go and give them to Osamu “excuse me Rin”
“Go ahead pretty” he makes space so you can pass, holding you by the waist as you do. You walk towards the grey hair twin, who now was fully awake and was looking at you with confused eyes.
“Chibi-chan, let’s eat them together, after all they’re yers” says while trying to sit better
“And where am I supposed to sit?”
“My lap is always available, yer’re my little sis after all”
“Wasn’t I your lost twin?”
“Same thing, come here” he pulls you closer. You had no problem sitting on Osamu’s lap, he wasn’t as clingy as Atsumu, but he did like it from time to time. It has always felt brotherly rather than flirty “Hey Chibi-chan. What’s going on between ya and Suna? Ya two have been weird lately” he whispers making you choke on the cookie
“Eh?! N-nothing”
“Yeah, sure it’s nothing, that’s why ya always end up redder than a tomato when ya two are alone” he pinches your cheek “c’mon tell me, I promise to not say anything about it”
“Yeah sure, you keeping your mouth shut?”
“Ya know that I wouldn’t say anything if ya don’t want me to, yer’re my sister, I want to take care of ya now since we grew up in different countries”
“Fine, I’m choosing to trust you, don’t make me regret the decision” he nods, giving you a little smile before lowering his head so you can reach his ear “he has been extremely flirty these past days. If it wasn’t for you or Tsumu, he would have kiss me by now”
“I see. So, do ya like him?”
“I…don’t know. This past year has been so crazy and my mind has been so busy”
“Did ya feel something when he was about to kiss ya? Or like…on every day basis?”
“When he does that I just…freeze; I do get flustered, but like, he’s handsome. I genuinely don’t know what should I feel” you say putting your head on his shoulder
“Well, it hasn’t even been a year since ya moved here, ya had to learn a new language, have good grades in school, and also became responsible for our team, I’m sure liking someone like that never crossed yer mind. Give it time, if ya do like him, ya will know soon”
“Damn, are you a therapist or what” you joke “But what if I don’t see him like that? I don’t want to ruin our friendship. I don’t want to lose him”
“He probably knew that it was risky. But if he does love ya, he will respect yer decision. Ya can’t force yer heart to fall in love with him, and I’m sure he knows that too”
“Thanks Samu” you say kissing his cheek before putting your head on your shoulder
“Isn’t this what brothers do?” he hugs you tighter
“I guess, it’s hard to believe that you can use your brain like this”
“I take it back, I’m not yer brother anymore”
You two continued talking for a few minutes before the others started to wake up. Soon enough everybody was talking to each other, making jokes and just having a good time.
When you arrived at the school the coach told you to just go home for the rest of the day, since everyone was tired after the long trip. Suna talks to you like nothing ever happened, which is good since you decided to follow Osamu’s advice and just give it time. However, you had forgotten about the whole Tokyo situation.
++
A month has passed since the tournament. A month since Suna almost kissed you. He came back to his usual self and hasn’t tried anything since then, which confused you even more.
These past weeks, however, were far from relaxing. Since the end of the school year was getting closer, it was full of exams, quizzes and homework. That added to the practices of the team and the multiple practice matches meant that you had less and less time before moving. After giving one of the most difficult exams that you had, the twins, Suna and you go to the gym for their practice.
“Aggh! Finally! The worst one is done, just a few more and we’re done” exclaims Osamu
“I can’t wait for our vacation, we can practice as much volleyball as we want to without worrying about school. Maybe we can go to some touristic places that our Chibi hasn’t go yet together” add Atsumu
“Oh yeah…” you whisper, just remembering about the future plans, you completely forgot to tell them
“Oh yeah? What kind of answer is that Chibi… hey, ya okay? Ye’re really pale” asks Osamu, making the other two turn around with concern written over their faces when they look at you. You had completely stopped walking and were looking at the floor.
“I’m moving” you say blinking fast
“Moving? Then we can help ya to pack up… are ya moving nearer school? I’ve always though ya lived too far” Atsumu adds making you shake your head
“Chibi-chan…where are ya moving?” asks Osamu. When you look up to answer, with some tears filling your eyes, is when they noticed that the answer wasn’t good. Grasping your backpack tighter, you answer
“Tokyo…I’m moving to Tokyo”
“WHAT?! TOKYO?!”
You look at their faces, Osamu is surprised; Atsumu has a hurt expression, some tears on his eyes; and Suna was a mix of both, eyes wide open. Your eyes get even more watery than before, tears threatening to fall at any second.
“Guys, why are you screaming? Relax and enter the gym” says the captain, however nobody seems to listen to him so he just comes to where you are.
“YA PROMISE TO NOT LEAVE US! LEAVE ME! WHY ARE YA LEAVING SO SUDDENLY! LOOK AT ME DAMMIT!”
“Oi relax, don’t scream at her, let’s go in and talk there” Osamu scolds him, noticing your eyes
Osamu hits his twin head before forcing him to enter the building; meanwhile Suna, who was quiet, takes your hand to guide you inside. He doesn’t say anything, just rubs your hand with his thumb. Both of them are sitting on the floor, so Suna makes you do the same, you can tell that Atsumu it’s still annoyed, but Osamu manages to shut him. The rest of the team was confused but they got an idea of what was happening because of the screaming; and while they love you just as much, they knew that the four of you were incredibly close.
“Yn-chan…Chibi-chan, can ya explain to us what’s happening?” Asks Osamu trying to look at your eyes, only seeing a few tears rolling down.
“My dad was promoted, he has to move to the Tokyo branch. They waited until the end of the school year to make it easier for us”
“But do ya want to move?”
“It’s not like I have a choice, but no, I like being with you guys”
“Then stay! Ya can…ya can live with any of us! Both of our families love ya!” says Atsumu desperately
“That’s not how it works Tsumu” you finally lift your head up to look at him, you feel Suna's hand trying to clean some tears delicately “I’m a minor, and from another country. The only reason I´m in Japan at all is because of his job. I told you from the beginning that this wasn’t going to be stable”
“But…but ya can’t leave us” Atsumu sobs, tears falling
“It’s not like she’s going to stop being our friend because she has to move, we are just going to be a few hours apart, right Chibi-chan?” says Osamu while rubbing your back, you nod noticing that he was holding back tears too
“How are ya so ok with this?! Are ya an idiot?! Our princess is leaving!” says Atsumu
“I’m not, but I know that this is out of her control. Yeah, it’s going to be hard to not have her around, but I’m not going to blame her for something that we all knew it could happen”
“Since when did you know about this?” talks Suna for the first time. It was a low, shaky voice, moving closer to you
“After your match with Shiratorizawa. I-I wanted to tell you sooner, after waiting for the emotions of the tournament to lie down, but then you started to practice more, and the exams came in…”
“Have you been feeling this burden ever since then? I told you to tell me if you needed help. You’ve been dealing with this alone” Suna scolds you
“I just…didn’t want to distract you. You already have a lot with volleyball”
“You didn’t tell us right away because you were thinking of us? Jesus Chibi, you need to care about your feelings a little bit more” Suna flicks your forehead lightly
“That’s true Chibi, we could have help ya feel better. Tsumu, don’t be an ass and say something” adds Osamu
“…Sorry for screaming at ya Chibi…it caught me off guard. I know that ya can’t do anything about it. I-I’m just going to miss ya a lot” sniff Atsumu, moving to give you a tight hug
“Well, we still going to have her for a few more days, so don’t get all sappy now” says the captain, having a sad smile on his face “let’s go practice so she can brag of us a little in her new school”
That’s enough for the boys to get slightly excited about going back to practice, you can see the determination in their eyes. You all stand up, rubbing your eyes to dry the tears.
“Chibi, do ya know the school yer’re going to?” asks Osamu while helping you dry your tears with his sleeve
“Not yet, they are talking to some so I can have options to decide”
“It doesn’t matter which school it is, we are going to win against everyone next time. We are going to make ya brag about yer best friends so much” says Atsumu this time
“I was going to brag about you guys anyway; now move your asses to practice, I’m going to wash my face” And even though there was a hint of sadness in the air that practice, you all knew that nothing will change between you in the future, no matter how far apart you were.
++
The last day of school arrived, the classes ended a little early and since the coach already knew that you were leaving, he let you have the day off so you could say goodbye to the rest of the team. After a sad reunion and lots of goodbyes from you and the third years; you, the twins and Suna decided to go to eat at a nearby restaurant.
“So, ya have to go back to yer country for a few days before moving back to Tokyo? Why?” asks Atsumu before stuffing his mouth with food.
“I don’t understand much either, something about the visa and such. Legal stuff”
“How annoying, and they still don’t give you the names of the possible schools”
“Well, there’s a lot of schools in Tokyo, and I doubt all are going to accept a foreigner student out of nowhere” says Osamu making you nod in agreement
“Who cares if she’s foreigner though?” asks Suna
“Quite a lot of people, actually. They are respectful and all, but they do treat me different”
“Idiots. How dare they treat our girl like that” adds Suna giving you a kiss on your temple before hugging you.
“Chibi, at what time is yer flight?” asks Atsumu
“Tomorrow midnight, why?”
“We should go and say goodbye there”
“Yeah, let’s go!”
“Samu, Tsumu… you guys know that I’m coming back to Japan, no?”
“Yeah, but not to Hyōgo. Wait! We should sign a volleyball ball for ya!” exclaims Atsumu
“What?” you look at Suna to see if he understands what is happening, but he just shrugs his shoulders “We will be just a few hours away…and why would I need a volleyball sign from you?”
“A few hours away it’s a lot, we can not go and see ya like we’re used to. Plus, it wasn’t a question, Samu and I are going to the airport. Suna ya in?”
“Sure, why not? At least I’ll be there if you embarrass her with your stupidity”
“And the volleyball it’s just obvious, when we become pro-players, ya will be the only one with one of those!”
“Tsumu, honey, for the last time, I’m not leaving the country! If you want to give me that then you can just send it to me when I arrive to Tokyo”
“Ya can’t stop me!”
You continue talking while eating the meal, the twins saying the most ridiculous stuff to make you laugh. You would definitely miss this, the twins fight, Suna filming them, there’s not many people like them. Once you finished the meal you started walking to the subway together for the last time.
“Can we take a photo together?” you ask
“A selfie? Are my photos and videos not enough for you?” says Suna jokingly, poking your side
“Idiot, I want to have a proper photo of the four of us”
“But we have take many photos together”
“Shut up and let me have this. Come here you idiots”
Despite Suna protests, he immediately gets closer to get into frame. Even with the height difference you managed to take really cute selfies.
“Chibi-chan, I love ya and all, but next time let me take the photos so we don’t have to bend too much” Atsumu jokes, nudging your side.
“Whatever you say Tsumu” you laugh. The train was about to arrive so he pulls you into an extremely tight hug.
“See ya tomorrow chibi-chan, let us know what time ya leave to the airport”
“I will” you sigh into his embrace
“Move ya idiot, I also want a hug” says Osamu
“I’m not leaving today guys” you chuckle
“Shh, just let me” and with that he hugs you just as tightly “See ya tomorrow, princess”
“See you Sam”
You and Suna enter the subway and go to where you normally stand, right at the back. When the train starts leaving the station, you feel your heart sink a little; even though you were the one telling the guys to not be dramatic, you were only doing it to not make them sad, you knew better than anyone that you were going to miss them more than anything else.
“Oi, you can be sad now, stop pretending that this isn’t a big deal” says Suna looking at his phone
“How did you know?”
“You’re leaving your best friends and moving to a city 6 hours away from us. It will be a lot for anyone” He takes you by the arm and pulls you into his chest without caring about the looks that the people were giving him “Thank you for trying to not makes us even sadder, but you seriously need to care a little more about your feelings, you idiot”
“I know. Thank you” you say with a few tears rolling. You stay like this for a while, enjoying the ride together with him patting your head, occasionally kissing it. A few stations before you had to go down, Suna takes his phone out and opens the camera, taking a few photos before you could say something “What? Only you can have photos of us?”
“I didn’t say anything”
“Whatever, we’re here let’s get out” he takes your hand while going out of the station, a comfortable silence falling between you. Both of you knew that this will be the last time he walks you home
“So…this is the last time I get to walk you home. I don’t know who will do it in Tokyo, but I hope you don’t forget the best company you could ever have” he says with a slow chuckle, sadness in his eyes
“Like you will let me forget it. You can be just as annoying as Tsumu”
“Don’t offend me like that Chibi” he does a pause, like he was contemplating something “Can we have a serious talk for a moment?”
“Sure, what is it Rin?” you say. He takes your face in between his hands, looking directly at your eyes.
“I’m really going to miss you. A lot. But just so you know, we are always going to be texting you and calling you, so don’t get depressed and enjoy whatever school you go to. We are always going to be here for you, you’re not going to get rid us so easily”
“Thanks Rin, I needed that” you pass your arms through his neck, hugging him while shedding a few tears one more time. He puts his face on the crock on your neck, kissing it slightly. You could have sworn that you felt some tears in your shoulder that night.
“You all really signed a volleyball and brought it here” you say in disbelief, looking at the ball inside the bag that Atsumu handed to you “I thought you were joking”
“I’m offended Chibi, this will give ya bragging points in the future! Imagine being the first person to receive an autograph from future pro-players”
“Unless you think he’s not going to be a pro-player, which is understandable”
“SUNA!”
“It’s not the pro-players part that I don’t believe, I know that all of you can become that. I just didn’t expect you to actually bring a volleyball to the airport…But thanks, I’ll find a way to show it off somewhere in my house”
“Aawww my chibi-chan!” says Atsumu lifting you up and moving you side to side after giving you a kiss on the cheek.
“I also wanted to give you something, but mine is normal” Osamu hands you a heavy bag, giving you a hug after “I put some snacks on there, alongside the bento box that you always used with some recipes. And made sure the bag was big enough to fit the stupid volleyball from Tsumu”
“Thanks, Samu. I’m so glad that you taught me how to cook, it definitely helped me a lot” you told him, which made him kiss your temple in a loving manner before moving away
“Come here chibi” Suna calls you to give you a hug, sneakily putting something on the bag “open it when you’re inside please” he whispers in your ear
“Sure”
“GROUP HUG! Come here Samu”
You end up trapped in a hug with these three giants, not that you were complaining anyway. You hear a voice saying that the plane was going to start boarding in 10 minutes, making the guys unwillingly unwrap themselves.
“Don’t you dare to forget me just because I’m not there with you. And I better see you at the Nationals or any other practice game” you say smiling, trying your best so the tears don’t fall.
“We will never forget ya, and of course we will see ya at Nationals, we will win”
“Yn, time to go, we don’t want to be late” says your mum putting a hand on your shoulder “Bye guys, our new house is going to be open for you if you ever go to Tokyo” adds giving the three of them a hug
“Bye miss, have a safe trip” your mum gives you a look before turning around, letting you say the last goodbye to them.
“We’ll see each other soon, so I’m not saying bye to ya Chibi” says Atsumu with teary eyes before giving you a quick hug and another kiss
“Text us when ya arrive, no matter what time is here, okay?” adds Osamu, taking your hand in his, squishing it.
“I lo-We love you lots Chibi, you better film in Tokyo too” Suna kisses your temple
“I know, see you soon. I will text you, don’t worry. And I love you lots too” you say smiling a little “got to go now”
You walk away with teary eyes, failing to notice the tears in their faces. You turn around one more time to see them wave before entering the section for travelers. Once on the plane you take the bag that Suna gave you and open it. Inside of it you see a Levi plushie, alongside a keychain, some stickers and a note ‘We'll always be by your side princess, enjoy your new adventure. Love you’
Your tears silently started to roll down your face, trying to keep your sobs quiet. Your rational side knew how dumb this whole thing was, you knew that you wouldn’t stop being friends just because you had to move, you knew that you will see them again, you knew that you weren’t leaving Japan. And even though you knew all of that, it still hurt to leave them.
When the plane was taking off, you looked at the airport for the last time. Bye Hyōgo. Bye Inarizaki. See you soon lovable foxes. But this time you’ll meet in Tokyo.

https://www.reuters.com/world/japan/magnitude-74-earthquake-strikes-japan-tsunami-warning-issued-2024-01-01/
TOKYO, Jan 1 (Reuters) - A powerful earthquake struck central Japan on Monday, killing at least one person, destroying buildings, knocking out power to tens of thousands of homes and prompting residents in some coastal areas to flee to higher ground.
The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 triggered waves of about 1 metre along Japan's west coast and neighbouring South Korea, with authorities saying larger waves could follow.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued tsunami warnings for the prefectures of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama.
A major tsunami warning - the first since the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan - was issued for Ishikawa but was later downgraded and eventually cut to an advisory, meaning waves up to 1 metre (3 foot) high could be expected.
It was the strongest quake in the region in more than four decades, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Russia and North Korea also issued tsunami warnings for some areas.
Houses were destroyed, fires broke out and army personnel were dispatched to help with rescue operations, government spokesperson Yoshimasa Hayashi told reporters.
One elderly man was pronounced dead after a building collapse in Shika Town in Ishikawa, broadcaster NTV reported citing local police.
"The snow from the electric wire (came) down, and also from the roof it fell down and all the cars are shaking, and so everybody was panicked," Jonny Wu, a Taiwanese tourist visiting nearby Nagano prefecture for a skiing holiday, told Reuters.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters he had instructed search and rescue teams to do everything possible to save lives, even though access to quake-hit areas was difficult due to blocked roads.
More strong quakes in the area, where seismic activity has been simmering for more than three years, could occur over coming days, JMA official Toshihiro Shimoyama said.
The government said that as of Monday night it had ordered more than 97,000 people in nine prefectures on the western coast of Japan's main island Honshu to evacuate.
In comments to the press shortly after the quake struck, Kishida also warned residents to prepare for more disasters.
"I urge people in areas where tsunamis are expected to evacuate as soon as possible," Kishida said.
The Imperial Household Agency said that following the disaster it would cancel Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako's slated New Year appearance on Tuesday.A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck in Ishikawa prefecture in central Japan on Monday
'TSUNAMI! EVACUATE!'
Following the quake, a bright yellow message reading "Tsunami! Evacuate!" flashed across television screens advising residents in specific areas of the coast to immediately evacuate.
Tumblr media
Local media footage showed a building collapsing in a plume of dust in the city of Suzu and a huge crack in a road in Wajima where panicked-looking parents clutched their children.
There were reports of at least 30 collapsed buildings in Wajima, a town of around 30,000 known for its lacquerware, and fire engulfed several buildings.
The quake also jolted buildings in the capital Tokyo, some 500 km from Wajima on the opposite coast.
Almost 32,000 households were still without power in Ishikawa prefecture late on Monday, according to utilities provider Hokuriku Electric Power (9505.T), with temperatures set to drop to near freezing overnight in some areas.
Tohoku Electric Power (9506.T) said 700 households remained without power in neighbouring Niigata prefecture.
Telecoms operators also reported phone and internet outages in some areas.
Forty train lines and two high-speed rail services to the quake-hit area halted operations, while six expressways were closed and one of Ishikawa's airports was forced to shut due to a crack in the runway, transport authorities said.
Japanese airline ANA (9202.T) turned back planes headed to airports in Toyama and Ishikawa, while Japan Airlines (9201.T) cancelled most of its services to the Niigata and Ishikawa regions.
NUCLEAR PLANTS
The quake comes at a sensitive time for Japan's nuclear industry, which has faced fierce opposition from some locals since a 2011 earthquake and tsunami triggered nuclear meltdowns in Fukushima. Nearly 20,000 people were killed and whole towns devastated in the disaster.
Japan last week lifted an operational ban imposed on the world's biggest nuclear plant, Kashiwazaki-Kariwa, which has been offline since the 2011 tsunami.
Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority said no irregularities have been confirmed at nuclear power plants along the Sea of Japan, including five active reactors at Kansai Electric Power’s (9503.T) Ohi and Takahama plants in Fukui Prefecture.
Hokuriku's Shika plant in Ishikawa, the closest nuclear power station to the epicentre, had already halted its two reactors before the quake for regular inspections and saw no impact from the quake, the agency said.
Monday's quake struck during the Jan. 1 public holiday when millions of Japanese traditionally visit temples to mark the new year.
In Kanazawa, a popular tourist destination in Ishikawa, images showed the remnants of a shattered stone gate strewn at the entrance of a shrine as anxious worshippers looked on.
Kanazawa resident Ayako Daikai said she had evacuated to a nearby elementary school with her husband and two children soon after the earthquake hit. Classrooms, stairwells, hallways and the gymnasium were all packed with evacuees, she said.
"We haven't decided when to return home yet," she told Reuters when contacted by telephone.

Hi😄 I have a questions. This has probably been asked before, but I've been here for a short time and I can't find the answer anywhere. Do all dir en gray members live in Tokyo? And what do we know about their families? I know Kyo has a younger sister, I think Toshiya does too. And the rest? and their parents? anything known about them? do they live where they were born? I think I once saw photos of some baby diru with their mother? And when they were older, are there any photos with their parents? Oh, and I think I read once that kyos father and mother too? also come to their concerts sometimes. I don't know if it's true or just a rumor?
I don't know much myself. I'm sure that they all had to move to Tokyo out of convenience, but they mainly come from Kansai/Kyoto ecept Toshiya who was from Nagano, up north.
Kyo used to answer interview questions with lies or jokes in the past, so we don't really know what's true. Ultimately, I don't think his relationship with his parents is as bad as his songs could imply hah.
No clue about any of them having siblings.
There was a picture of Kyo very young but he shared it only on kyo-online.
I do also recall that someone's parent(s) goes to their concerts, but I don't remember who exactly or even where I read that.

Today's translation #375
Figure skating Life vol. 6, Let's talk more with Kenji!, Guest: Mitsurou Kubo
Part 3.
Ke: Is that so? [Mitsurou and Sayo didn't know each other before Yuri!!!]
Ku: She knew about me, and I've heard that she was watching the show thinking "Kubo-san is here too", but we didn't talk at that occasion. But it was the first chapter of the story of us making an anime together.
Ke: I was sure you knew each other before that.
Ku: No, not at all. When she was making preparation for the project, she heard me talking on radio and on TV about figure skating, so she decided that she wanted to make an anime together with me. The first time [that we met] was when a mutual acquaintance introduced us to each other. She told me then that she was sitting quite close to me at that ice show, and I was like: "At that ice show?".
Ke: The first time when you and I met was during "Medalists on ICE" after Japanese Nationals, right?
Ku: Yes, Medalists in 2014.
Ke: That extremely giant Machida-kun's banner.
Ku: Yeah. In summer of that year, we had decided to work on the anime together, and at that time we were going to see competitions and gathering materials for the story, from regional competition in Tokyo to the Final in Barcelona. We went to see Nationals, when we still hadn't decided what kind of story we were going to create in details, and it had only been like half a year, since we started doing our research, so we were like: "What do you mean by Machida is going to retire?". Like, the skater that I wanted to watch more in the future is retiring... So that night when the announcement was made, in snowy Nagano, together with the Director, we were full of this "you must be kidding me!" feeling, and the Director wrote something like "Machida, you idiot!" in the snow.
<laugh together>

TMMN EP 14 - Trivia + Analysis
There’s not much for me to write about this episode, not at the beginning at least. So this will be more of a trivia post Minto reaction to common’s folks house was what I expected.
Tumblr media
TRIVIA
“Nikujaga is like the Japanese equivalent of chicken noodle soup. Nikujaga is made of of meat, potatoes and onion stewed in sweetened soy sauce and mirin, sometimes with ito konnyaku and vegetables. Nikujaga is an example of yōshoku. Generally, potatoes make up the bulk of the dish, with meat mostly serving as a source of flavor.
Tumblr media
Sure Minto....but that doesn’t mean he has much power or control.
Tumblr media
See?
Tumblr media
Again with the motive to find a goal in life.
Tumblr media
I bet he does Mint, he probably had been in the same situation as you.
Tumblr media
NOT KEIICHIRO SAYING THE BLUE KNIGHT RESEMBLES THE ALIENS IN PERFOMANCE AND ASPECT.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All good points tbh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SHE DIDN’T BLUSH WHEN SERVING KEIICHIRO COFFEE...
A SIMPLE YEAH COULDN’T BE ENOUGH TO MAKER HER BLUSH!
IS SHE THINKING ABOUT THEIR PREVIOUS INTERACTION?
iS HER QUOTE FOR LOVE, REALLY MEANING ... FOR SOMEONE SHE LOVES? LIKE RYOU?
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Trivia
The history of practical windmills in Japan started when foreigners from the United States and Europe visited this country at the beginning of the Meiji era, in the early 1880's. They built windmills in various parts of Japan to pump water. Thereafter, up until mid 1920s, the windmills were mainly imported from the U.S.A. and Germany. They were primarily used for water supply and pumping. Besides these imported windmills, there were irrigation windmills worthy of special mention. Since the end of the Meiji era (the 1900's) simple wooden windmills were built by the local carpenter or blacksmith at relatively low cost. A total of several thousands windmills were operated in Nagano, Ibaraki, Chiba, Osaka and Aichi prefectures. These were used for a long time until just after World War II, in the 1950's. On the other hand, wind-powered electric generation has not been so active, except for the Yamadas wind turbine which was widely used mainly by pioneering farmers in Hokkaido after World War II. History tells us that these successful wind power utilizations were due not only to the natural environmental conditions but mainly to the social conditions. Based on these past experiences, efforts to develop alternative energy began to be positive after the oil crisis of 1973. Current wind energy activities in Japan include those sponsored by government agencies, the electric power companies and private industries. I’ll talk about the aliens and deep blue when we get more episodes
Tumblr media
Tokyo Mew Mew Ole  reference?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She became so humble in New.
Tumblr media
Very rarely the original anime went to into this specific details on how to deafeat a chimera (even if they were animal based) using its own weakness... I feel like TMM Ole helped a lot in that aspect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again something precious to Minto is being used as a chimera or to help the aliens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love when TMM goes into this type of opposite prespectives
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, Minto is torn between having to destroy/fight things that she loves and mean a lot to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like her character arc came full circle in this episode.
Tumblr media
She found her goal, she knows what she wants, she knows what’s important, what to protect and its the right time to do it. Even if it means delaying your dream some more. There’s a time and a place for everything, you’ve done your best, you’ve found something you want to achieve in the future, work for that goal, grow up and learn. Don’t rush. Trust the process.
Tumblr media
The fight is over, they won but at what cost... Seiji arrives to check on everyone after getting the report of what happened. He looks at Minto destroyed project. She expects him to be angry but he isn’t.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Minto apolagizies to her brother, she really has matured. She understands the meaning of her actions despite sometimes the method not being the best way to achieve them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This words are too similar ...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m pretty sure your family knows of what you’re capable of, .and with their help you’ll be able to suceed. It’s just a matter of time. And with this Minto arc comes to an end. She found two goals in life To be a Mew Mew and protect the planet, To work for her father company and also save the planet with green energy.
