Oh man, I think the Circle of the Crimson Mirror might just be MY Candela circle. I enjoyed the goofy schlock horror with the Circle of the Vassal and the Veil, and really enjoyed the amping up of horror in The Circle of Needle and Thread (though the horrors of war theming was not specifically for me, it was still well done). I haven’t gotten to watch the Circle of Tide and Bone because life happened, but from what I’ve heard it was very good.
But I was laughing out loud with glee for the first episode of the Circle of the Crimson Mirror. All these characters are delightful. The setting is fascinating (starting out OUTSIDE of Newfaire and expanding the world was really fun), the theming of Irish folklore horror gives a folk horror mixed with cosmic horror vibe that I’m really excited for. And Liam is just the sort of ruthless DM that is perfect for a horror game. Because for me, keeping your players wrapped up in the horror, making them at least a little genuinely afraid (after talking through Lines and Veils of course) in a fun and contained way IS the heart of playing a horror game. It’s the same as watching a horror movie, in that you WANT to be scared, that’s part of the enjoyment, but in a horror game the fun is having it happen to you.
And both folk horror and cosmic horror are some of my favorite subgenres, so this is hitting all my favorite sorts of horror. And because it’s me, see below for my much longer thoughts about this first episode and the characters. Because I’ve never found a topic I enjoy that I can’t write an essay about.
Liam comes for everyone straight out of the gate, doesn’t he? While I found the train cold open in chapter 2 exciting, I found this even more harrowing. With NPCs we barely know constantly imperiled, all the investigators are really sketched so clearly right off the bat with their actions rather than their more open explanations later. I love that all of them lean heavily into being out of their depth, even sometimes making poor choices because of it. The players are aware they are in a horror game. The characters are not.
So let’s talk about those characters:
MALCOLM TRILLS
Tumblr media
Imari Williams was the player at the table I had no prior experience with, and I love what he’s doing here. He puts his whole body into acting out the scene, even at the table. Even before we know he was a Sole Survivor of a massacre during the war (and I found it deeply entertaining that Imari couldn’t help but dump his backstory all over the floor. Liam’s gently encouraging everyone to hold it back for dramatic moments, and Imari is just so excited he’s like “NO! HERE IT IS!” not once but twice in the very first episode), we knew that. Because Imari is clearly dedicated to acting that out through what Malcolm chooses to do. He believes in saving others, especially after losing his entire squad. He has to do it, even (or maybe especially) for those civilians he doesn’t know. His entire point in being in Candela is saving people. So when Liam dunks two unnamed sailors in the ocean, Malcolm goes in. His friends are horrified. They love and value him, and they value him more than two randos. But to him, the randos are the point. Saving people is the point. So no matter how many disappointed dad-lectures he gets from Leo (and this is clearly not the first one he’s gotten), Malcolm is always going to be this way. He’s always going to try to play the hero in a horror setting, which is such a delicious choice for a horror player to make. Everyone at that table knows how perilous it is, but Imari is fully committed, and I love it.
We already know a lot of his background, but there are things we don’t know. We don’t know his relationship with his family, or why Leo is so disdainful of the Trills as a group. There seems to be an implication that the Trills are old money in Newfaire, perhaps, or at least a legendary family for other reasons. And apparently reckless heroism is a family trait. But what does Malcolm do in his day-to-day? He’s the one we don’t have a career or life for back in Newfaire yet, and I am interested to see who he is when he’s not playing the hero for Candela.
LEO AMICUS
Tumblr media
I love the description of “I’m going to lie a little and say ‘early forties’” as an explanation for Leo’s age. It tells me a lot about his character right off the bat. We know he’s older (but not how much) and that he doesn’t want to admit he’s older. There’s just a touch of vanity already there, and given that he’s also a man in a dressing gown on a ship in a severe storm, who thinks that his presence is deeply inappropriate? Who asks if there’s a bar on a tramp steamer? We know so much about Leo already, and I love it all. Taliesin plays a dandy so well, his table reactions are so expressive, and it’s so clear that a setting like this is NOT where Leo shines. He shines in social situations, in parties and bars and places where his charms mean something beyond keeping a crewmember calm long enough that she can be knocked unconscious. But he’s so great in being totally overwhelmed and being useless in an action sequence.
And once the storm is over? We find out that Leo is very much the mother hen of the group (probably the oldest member). He knows Malcolm well, and treats Grimoria like a beloved niece. We haven’t gotten a lot of interactions between him and Edgar, but I’m excited to see what their relationship is like, as the two more cautious members of the group.
It was in his interactions with the other members of the circle that I realized how much like family this circle is. They are VERY close, despite ostensibly just being coworkers. There is such a deep care and concern for one another here and I love knowing how dangerous that also is in a horror game. And Leo is the one most open about his attachments here. We know he doesn’t have much blood family, and doesn’t talk to them. We know he looks at these people as his family.
And I love that, for that family, we see a REALLY different side of Leo. While he was overwhelmed and trying not to look at the blood on the boat, the second the Murphy girls (or whatever was masquerading as them) tried to murder Malcolm and the others, Leo was grabbing kitchen knives and trying to kill them. His perspective from his talk with Malcolm also remains consistent: you put your family first. When his family is threatened, meek Leo melts away and we have a man who will do whatever is necessary, kill whoever is necessary, or let anyone die to protect them. He seems to have few moral convictions, but an enormous amount of love, and that excites me for this character.
And I love that we actually know very little about him right now. We know he lives in Red Lamp (because of course he does) and that his apartment doubles as their chapterhouse. So he can be Team Dad at every meeting.
Also congrats to him for getting laid in the very first episode. Hot sailor dude propositions him, and Leo is all about that life. This Professional Man of Leisure is clearly gay catnip.
DR. EDGAR LYCORIS
Tumblr media
I was so excited that Alex was finally going to be in a filmed Candela game (he was apparently one of the play-testers during its development, and it’s so clear he knows the rules). Dr. Lycoris is cool, calm, almost robotic in his presentation. He’s definitely a classic Alex character with his calm and his normal-guy-in-a-group-of-weirdos vibe (while secretly being very much a weirdo himself), and filled with casual competence and rudeness. But at the same time there are hints of how much he cares about this circle too. Him quietly calling Grimoria ‘Grim’ when she’s unconscious and he’s tending to her, telling her, “You can’t sleep forever, Grim,” in such a fond tone. The two of them clearly have some quiet history together, and there is a real softness between them that I’m excited to see them dig into as they get deeper into the game. There’s clearly a long-standing connection with Malcolm too, with both of them extremely aware of one another’s skills and weaknesses, working together seamlessly, especially in moments of extreme stress. I want to see more of these soft moments, these personal moments when his icy demeanor cracks, and I imagine we’re going to get plenty of them, given that THIS is how intense the first episode was.
He and Leo are the two characters we know the least about at this point. We know that Edgar is a surgeon working in the main hospital in Newfaire. We know that he is cool under pressure, and that he is both used to fighting (his immediate shift into using his scalpel as a precision weapon to go after arteries and tendons is such a nice touch for the character), but also can really be shocked by sudden violence (I love that he totally freezes after THAT happened to Declan’s mother). He states that he wears nice and fashionable clothing, but the clothing is almost wearing him rather than the other way around, like someone picked them out for him. I want to know who that other person is (is it Leo???). I want to know who he is when he’s not trying to wear what other people expect of him.
I am so excited to get to know Dr. Lycoris.
GRIMORIA
Tumblr media
Likely a stage name, and I do wonder if we'll get her birth name, or if that even matters to her at this point. Mechanically, I am thrilled to see a Candela player try to homebrew a multiclass in this system. She’s essentially gone for a Medium/Magician hybrid. We know she works as a procurer of esoteric artifacts. She performs shows with smoke bombs, so likely is a stage magician, and that she has been able to channel spirits since she was a small child.
And we know that she’s 18. In a group in which consists of a man who is at least in his mid-forties, a man who is 32, and a man who is a surgeon (so has at least obtained advanced training, and is probably in his late twenties at minimum, and is likely in his thirties given the hints that he served as a battlefield surgeon during the war), Grimoria is YOUNG. Absurdly so. The guys care about her in a different way than they do one another. They look out for her in subtle ways, though are all very careful not to treat her as a child. The softness between her and Edgar is reflected in the overtly familial way that Leo talks to her, treating her like a very clever niece, but also the person he finds the most calming in the group. It’s fun to see that, even though he treats her as his relative, he doesn’t treat her as a child. She’s the one he goes to when he needs to clear his head. He just wants to listen to her read aloud. He finds talking with her soothing, and it’s clear why. She has a good head on her shoulders, and is rising to the occasion, so while he is caring for her, he also intrinsically understands her need to care for him as well. And Aimee really sells that in-between nature of being 18. It’s such a great portrayal of someone on the verge of being an adult, but not quite there yet. Someone her friends want to care for, but also want to treat like an adult and like any other member of the group. There is a tension in those relationships purely because of her age.
I also like that she’s the most pure investigator of the group. She’s the one who pushes for information, who has a burning desire to KNOW. And that’s a great flaw and danger for a character in a horror setting. The desire for knowledge in cosmic horror is so dangerous. Her willingness to channel spirits right off the bat is dangerous. She is, in her own quieter way, just as reckless as Malcolm and I love to see it. Aimee is throwing herself into this, playing a character who doesn’t know she has limits let, and is eager to push every boundary. I can’t wait to get to know her even more.
CONCLUSIONS
I love that we have two cautious characters and two reckless characters. I love that we have a balance, and we have a group that instantly portrays exactly how close they all are to one another. We’re not sure how these bonds were forged, but they are so well portrayed and so clear. These people love one another. They would do terrible things for one another, and I can’t wait to see what they go through together.
Count me very excited and very eager for next month’s addition to their story (and count me already sad we only get three episodes with them).

❖ Alan Grant
Tumblr media
- Let’s just say the both of you were completely clueless of the feelings being harbored but everyone you guys encountered automatically picked up on it  - He can’t quite remember when he had developed feelings. It was a subtle thing that crept in slowly and then snuck up on him like a robber in the night (needless to say he was not the first to have feelings in the relationship)  - You on the other hand remember the moment you had feelings and it was not subtle it was a brick to your face. He had been at a convention for his book, talking to all sorts of people, and yet he always kept an eye on you making sure to glance up from what he was doing to find you. When the day was done he drove you home opening and closing your door for you  - Alan subconsciously noticed the change in your demeanor but thought it didn’t have to do with him. Anytime he tried asking about it you have him a short answer and changed the topic  - Something he didn’t even think about is the way he is always besides you practically attached at the hip and this just absolutely made you fall even harder for him - Then you just had to follow him to that god forsaken island (a/n you can choose which movie first, third, or even the latest one)he loved the way you had that survivors instinct. Now you were always and forever amazing in his eyes but seeing  this other part of you that was totally badass, taking charge he knew he was in for the ride of his life - And yet he didn’t confess to you during a life or death situation like those movies, hell he didn’t even confess on the island. No he decided that a helicopter ride back to the mainland was the perfect time, I mean you can’t run away right  - “So I uhh think drinks are an order, you and me?” It was whispered his confidence a little  rocky after everything that happened  - “You and me ?” You whispered back wind sucked out of your lungs  - He out right smiled and brought you close to his side, resting his head on top of yours, “You and me.”  - Yeahhh lets just say it took him YEARS literal years
❖ Ellie Sattler
Tumblr media
- She fell first but just thought you deserved a life free of the limits of a relationship despite her being aware of your feelings, you were being very obvious - little touches no matter where you are (unless you are uncomfortable with it) she rests a hand on your back, between your shoulder blades, you shoulder, you elbow. She likes to show you she is physically and mentally there for you - her favorite past time with you is going museum hopping loving to travel through time and around the world with you - will willingly let you rant or vent to her as long as she can do the same thing - you will have to enable her behavior of taking down crazy ceos - Even while you guys were “just friends” she loves to cuddle especially if you guys are pulling all nighters - Both of you go to protests for climate change and anything else and y’all can’t change my mind - but it’s not on one of your chaotic days that you both confess it’s actually on a lazy day of watching true crime and she asks you to be her plus one to her cousins wedding - you kiss her on a whim which leads to a more intense cuddle session and her whispering how long she’s been waiting to do that
❖ Ian Malcolm
Tumblr media
- I’d say you both fell at the same time - At first the flirting between you two was just games and for fun((( well it was for him because at first you would just shake  your head and blush or shooting him down but soon you gained confidence and started flirting right back with him which stumped him - This man is gobsmacked but recovers quickly - He likes to place his hand on the small of your back that small intimacy drives the both of you crazy - Of course the two of you are way too stubborn to confess both wanting the other to say something first - You always find yourself floating back to him physical in social settings - Long phone calls in which he will talk and talk and eventually it’s a silent call where you guys are just indulging in the presence of one another - Expect him to bring you coffee, tea, or any other drink ever few days just cause   - You give him little Knick knacks and such or books that you enjoyed that is the best way to his heart - He’d be the first one to break, asking you to a cheesy karaoke bar  - The two of get so drunk and song as many outrageous songs together <333
❖ Claire Dearing
Tumblr media
-(This girl gave me so much trouble ) - she is a businesswoman who doesn’t understand why society makes her feel like she can’t have a good job AND a nice relationship so as the person she is she goes out of her way to find a good partner who can fit with her lifestyle - so her friends take her out for a girls night which then leads to seeing some high school friends that’s where you come in - Claire had a crush on you all of high school never brave enough to talk to you just admiring from the distance - Now it’s still the same, she can face billionaires and dinosaurs but not a stunning person - It’s up to you to go say hi to her in the line for the club - turns out you had the fattest crush on her too - the night was full of banter and buying each other drinks - at the end of the with slurred speech you tell each that you need to get to get her soon and talk - days pass before you follow her on social media then send her a text - it’s weeks before you meet up just talking to each other on FaceTime and text - She’ll send you flowers saying that she just thought they were pretty - When the time finally comes she convinces you to come to the island to see the park (you force her to let you pay for plane tickets but she insists that everything else is on her since she couldn’t come to the mainland to you - Cue a beautiful day at the park where you make her see the magic of the park once more
❖ Owen Grady
Tumblr media
- After the stuff he’s been through I think it’ll take a while for him to even realize he likes you - between you and me you guys probably met at a rag tag bar and he was probably showing off his dart skills - PLEASE You would definitely show him up so like the gentleman he buys you a round of whatever you want - next thing you know your friends are pulling you away to go to the next bar (little did you know that he had slipped a napkin with his number on it into your pocket - come Monday you get to your new job and guess who’s one of your coworkers? Mr handsome from the bar - after a few awkward days he invites you to a different bar - “Not like as a date date just like a drinking buddy thing.” He told you - but soon he’s checking up on you during work make sure your not working yourself to death - Those drinking buddy dates turned to hikes turned to stargazing and soon enough you were the one who had to get the confidence and ask him what you guys are - his stomach drops and that is the precise moment he realizes ‘oh shit’ he absolutely adores you- “Why don’t we find out ? Let’s go to that that fancy Thai restaurant at 7 I’ll pick you up.” - Expect him to appear at your door at 6:50 with a big bundle of flowers looking the best he can
❖ Zach Mitchell
Tumblr media
- This Romeo was in love before he even knew you - He will try to act cool maybe play a little hard to get - of course he will slip up a whole bunch  XD - expect study get togethers for college mostly at the library but one particular time you guys go over to his house. Let’s just say his mom absolutely loves you for your manners/helping Zach get more involved in school, his dad finds the dynamic between you and his son adorable almost reminding him of the young love him and his wife used to have, and the most important person Gray at first he’s not quite sure but when you actually listen to him ramble about Dinos he decides that you are the perfect one for Zach - now we all know that our guy Zach when not in a relationship can get distracted easily by…. Others but this surprising rapidly changes for him after getting close to you - After meeting his family that’s when you fell for him, watching how he’s interacted with his brother and played around with his dad and even helping his mom with dinner preparations -You knew he was a player to say the least so you tried to push feelings aside even distancing yourself from him - But Zach wasn’t really having any of it texting you good morning and good night everyday and even making sure to hand you an energy drink or coffee during the shared class of yours so eventually you gave in allowing yourself to be swallowed by the love you felt for the man - in the end it’s his brother who asks you to a date for Zach plain out calls you one day saying - “The local pizza arcade with Zach 6:30 don’t be late.” - the little weasel was something else because he then called Zach saying something similar and surprisingly you both went arriving at 6:30 sharp - it was the best day of your life
❖ Franklin Webb
Tumblr media
- I personally believe that this man is a helpless romantic at heart and I will die on this hill  - You care about Dinos and will do anything for them ? In love.  - You will talk to him about government conspiracy theories ? In love.  - You help him with work or ask him what he wants at a cafe you are heading to during break ? In love. - But he will keep all of this to himself. Attempt to flirt ( unsuccessfully)  - He will buy you things and try to play it off as ‘Oh I thought of you when I saw it. It’s really nothing at all. Don’t worry about.’  - After work life is pretty domestic with him borrowing sugar from each other, watching tv shows together, having a makeshift book club with each other. There was always something between you two that was a little more than friends  - Hell you guys even had sleepover in either his or your living room. You were always the first one to fall asleep and during those nights he would look at you seeing how peaceful you are in the tv light  - Takes you to his home on holidays to see his family because they all love you  - These events can go two different way  1. You being absolutely oblivious to his attempts and you both end up slipping into a situationship until one day you introduce him to someone as your boyfriend  2. You grow some balls and ask him on some dates yourself and then eventually ask him to be your boyfriend
❖ Zia Rodriguez
Tumblr media
- She will refuse to admit that she kinda likes you almost seeing as a relationship with how the world is as a distraction but she has such a soft spot for you - the two of you look after each other because I feel like you two started out as friends and the two of you have similar work ethics so every once an a while one of you will send a little text to the other - you buy her cute little stickers for her laptop because she liked the look of your sticker covered computer - while she buys you cute stuffed animals that she finds Dino’s in particular but if you have a thing for squishmallows you can bet she’ll try buy everyone she sees (sometimes she gets you duplicates but you know it’s the thought - You two love to watch tv shows together and rant to each other about them this happens every other week - one of these times she falls asleep in the middle of the episode so you pause the tv and glance to her - “god you’re so pretty.” - to your surprise her eyes crack open -“you really think so babe?” Her voice was gravely and tired -“I absolutely do baby.” - and she smiled eyes closing again, you feel asleep too not long after
❖ Kayla Watts
Tumblr media
- She falls so goddamn hard  - Literally doesn’t even have to talk to you. She sees you once and is in love with your hair your face your body language. When she finally talks to you ? She is head over heels.  - Will try her hardest to impress you in anyway Loves just,,… talking to you  - For you, it takes you longer but you definitely think it’s cute how she’s acting. After a while she gets comfortable with you and then one day she takes you to the Dino black market (after instructing you to stay by her side the whole time) - Some random person shoved you out of the way while you were looking at one of the cute baby dinosaurs and then said person decide to be an absolute pig  - Cue Kayla pummeling this person and then taking you to the bathroom barricading the door and cleaning you up  - That’s when you knew. Your heart tugs while in that bathroom and it wasn’t just because of your busted lip - “Kay ?” She was washing her face now in the sink and whipped around to you, drying her face with her sleeve quickly  - “No, honey your gonna make that cut worse.” And then she was fussing over you once more bringing a towel to your mouth. Kayla always wished to be this close to you but now in this situation it was like a nightmare. This was all her fault she should never have brought you here - You caught her wrist and looked into her eyes seeking comfort. “Can we just go back to the hotel you please. I just want to watch a movie and rest” - “Yeah yeah I can do that.” Just like that reality came crashing down on her. Her own mind telling her you would never want to see her again after this“ - And will you….. can you….. can you stay with me?” Kayla knows she shouldn’t have but she beamed at your question, chest inflating about five sizes  - “Of course I can honey.”  Just like that her arm was around you leading you out of the underground market and up to the hotel you two were staying at

QUOGAN HEADCANONS PART 1
Hi hello <3 first time post from me on this account. I realized I had a lot of thoughts of my own on these two dweebs and I LOVE reading everyone else's thoughts, so I'm being brave and sharing my own. :)
Yes it's long and there will be a part 2. I talk a lot lol. Feel free to send me asks or recs if you want more :)
While Secretly Dating
They would text each other every single morning with Logan saying things along the lines of "good morning beautiful <3" and Quinn saying "good morning cutie :)". Sometimes these messages would cause them to giggle and/or blush leading their respective roommates to question what they were looking at.
Meetings at their secret hiding spots would take place nearly every morning, in between most classes, and every night. This was both of their favorite parts of the day because it's where they could talk, flirt, vent, and yes, make-out. (Michael & James notice that Logan always shows up to their first class completely giddy and when they try to tease him about it, Logan simply shuts them down with a snark comment.)
While at meals with their friends, the two would secretly try and play footsie or touch fingertips under the table.
Around the second or third month of them secretly dating (show canon: in-between Coffee Cart Ban and Chasing Zoey), they start experimenting with kissing, i.e, French kissing, necking, ear kisses, and even leaving small hickies. Quinn is the one who wants to try the latter to which Logan was nervous, excited, and turned on. Hesitant, they leave small ones on areas of the shoulder that can be covered by sleeves. Logan really likes having his ear nibbled and neck kissed especially while Quinn touches his head. Quinn realizes she loves being spoiled with kisses all over her face and neck.
Sometimes after basketball practice, if Logan is sore Quinn would insist on giving him massages.
Logan realizes how turned on he gets whenever Quinn talks about science or shares a fun fact. One day Quinn is helping Zoey fix her Jet-X and Lola almost catches him drooling.
Yes, dating Quinn doses cause Logan to improve his grades. This is something he does willingly because he truly wants to be the best version of himself for her. I imagine the first Michael & James walk in on him truly studying they are visibly shocked. Every time Logan gets an A or B on an assignment he proudly tells Quinn to which she is equally as ecstatic.
^^ Quinn also finds Logan studying hot.
They leave little notes for each other in their backpacks or textbooks.
For prom, when they agree to take different people as dates, Logan begs Quinn to tell him what color dress she plans to wear because he wants to match his pocket square. (You can see in the show that he's wearing one to match even while he was with Stacey.)
Openly Dating: JR Year Summer
Lola/Zoey and Chase/Michael/James sat Logan down separately and made sure his intentions were not to take advantage of Quinn. Both of those sessions lasted about 5 minutes until they realized that Logan was truly in love with her.
Yes, their friends (lovingly) teased them about their relationship. Lola and Zoey made sure to shut down anyone around campus that judged them or made harsh remarks.
Chase and ESPECIALLY Michael were beyond happy for them (Michael apologized for laughing in their faces when they tried to tell him they were dating months ago).
Logan cried when Quinn went back home to Seattle.
Quinn asked to take one of his t shirts with her back home to which Logan requested one of her jackets.
They spoke on the phone every single day, usually in the morning and at night. Quinn liked to fall asleep to the sound of his voice.
Quinn works as a camp counselor for a science day camp for children.
Quinn visited Logan (Malcolm Reese & Chauncey remembered her which made her happy) mid June for a week to which she got to meet Lyric (age 5-9 years old) for the first time.
Quinn brought Lyric a few Magic Tree House books and a mini science kit as a gift.
While in California, Logan, Mr. Reese, and baby Lyric showed Quinn around Los Angeles (movie sets, Disneyland, museums, and shopping.)
Logan and Quinn take Lyric to see Kung fu Panda in theaters.
Lyric is immediately fond of Quinn and wants to be as smart as her. She even draws a picture of Quinn as a scientist and gives it to her before she goes home.
It makes Logan's heart all fuzzy and gives his stomach butterflies seeing Quinn and Lyric interact.
Malcolm and Chauncey catch Logan drooling over Quinn multiple times and never fail to tease him.
Logan takes Quinn on a romantic dinner date on the beach and gives her a heart necklace that has their initials and the date they officially started dating engraved.
Quinn gifts him a portable hand held mirror that she quinnvented before she arrived. The mirror also has his name engraved along with the date they shared their first kiss. It has adjustable lighting and various settings such as a zoom feature and background blurring to focus more on his reflection.
For 4th of July that summer, Logan visits Quinn and her family in Seattle. She was nervous at first because her house is notably smaller than what he is used to but Logan was quite happy and comfortable and assured her that he didn't care about her wealth.
Logan is nervous as hell to meet Quinn's parents and her Bubbe (she had to explain to him the meaning of the word and is surprised and flattered how much Logan wants to know about her family's history.)
The Pensky family shows Logan around Seattle and he's shocked at how cool the Washington air is. He loves the trees and the mountains. His favorite activity is going whale watching.
Bubbe teaches Logan some of her Jewish recipes. The two form a close bond.
Quinn shows Logan photos and videos from her beauty pageant days but he's more interested in seeing the collection of her childhood science experiments.
SR Year - SR Year Summer
Logan replaced the photo of himself he normally kept on the dorm wall with one Bubbe took of him & Quinn in Seattle. (They're smiling at each other while he's hugging her from behind.) On the wall next to his top bunk are a collection of smaller photos. Some of just him, some of just Quinn, but mainly solo ones of Quinn.
Quinn keeps a mini scrapbook in one of her bed cubbies that has her favorite photos of Logan and notes that he wrote her from last year.
Lola & Vince break up at some point which leads to Lola & Zoey having a moment where they are jealous of Quinn & Logan's relationship. They get over it...eventually.
Quinn is granted early acceptance into Caltech and Logan takes her out to celebrate (also they make-out in a hammock)
Logan gets into UCLA on his own accord (his dad did not buy his way in) to major in business and minor in chemistry. PCA's head chemistry teacher wrote Logan a stellar letter of recommendation. He also took a few science ACTs (and did exceptionally well) at the beginning of senior year to help boost his chances.
For Logan's birthday, Quinn gifts him his own golf club set that she quinnvented. The clubs are perfectly designed for his height, grip, and other golf terms I don't know enough about.
For Quinn's birthday, Logan rents out sushi Rox for the night and and throws a surprise party for her. He has the party end 30 minutes early so he and Quinn can have the place to themselves so they can slow dance. Michael plays the flute for them.
For their one year anniversary, they have a moonlight picnic. Quinn makes him a personalized cologne (one of you lovelies said this and I 100% agree!!!) and his own zap watch but with baby settings with their anniversary date and the message "I love you" engraved.
Logan bought her a personalized lab coat, a designer lab bag, and dozens of flowers.
They do it *stream ChloexHalle* on their anniversary weekend in Logan's dorm room (he paid Michael & Chase to stay out of the room that night).
They're both nervous at first but as soon as they're in each other's arms, love and a whole lot of lust takes over. All they want to do is please the other.
Quinn is obviously valedictorian and her speech makes Logan the proudest he had ever felt up until that point.
Logan sent Quinn's mother and Bubbe flowers for mothers day (to which he would continue to do in the future)
In the summer, Quinn visited Logan's family again for a week to which Lyric was beyond excited.
At night, the two would sneak into each other's bedrooms for intimate moments. This is when they would really discover their pleasures and what they like/don't like in bed.
So yeah. Thanks for reading if you got this far!!!!! Sending everyone love <3

9. Best Month for you this year?
Oh boy. Uh. This is a tough one for me honestly. Not November. Not December. Not anything until maybe June at the earliest. I guess... September or August? I don't know, this year has been bad and time is fake. I feel like I can't remember anything about the last two years with any fidelity. It feels ephemeral- like I can hold only a small bit of it in my hands at a time, like it's a big ol' lake and I'm scooping time like water with my cupped hands.
I'll say August. I had a very chill birthday and it was nice.
14. Favorite Book You Read This Year?
I read "And Then I Woke Up" by Malcolm Devlin, which is ostensibly about conspiracy theory, far right rhetoric, and zombie apocalypse. But also, something they tell you about but you don't really internalize is that sometimes, after trying to kill yourself, you have these moments, these creeping doubts, this unreality, that maybe this isn't real. Maybe you succeeded. Maybe you are dead and this is the afterlife, or a death dream, or something equally outlandish but still very, very real to you. And this book had a lot to say about unreality in a way that spoke to me. I'm glad I read it. It was a quick read too, and I would recommend it.
Most of the time I know it's real. But there are days where it feels fake, and this book is a life preserver.
18. A Memorable Meal This Year?
Our holiday party for work had us take a cooking class, which I was a little irked by (I have to make my own dinner at a party for us to relax?), but it ended up being really fun. It was nice being able to show off my expertise (I was far and away the best pie, I chopped apples the fastest, I helped everyone at my table when they got lost or needed a hand, etc.), and we made Beef Wellington and Apple Pie, which was delicious. Plus, you know, I made it. It was good.
23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of this year, what would it be?
Tell someone. Part of the insidious part of the depression was feeling like you couldn't tell anyone- like you couldn't show this ugly part of you, like you can't show the weakness. You're embarrassed. And then when you work past that you hit the apathy of "why bother saying anything". I had so many people in my corner. I had so many people worried about me. I didn't say anything. I'm still not saying anything enough. I need to tell people. I need to say how I'm feeling. Or you know, die trying.

You Can Run, But You Can’t Glide!
Almost everyone has seen the original “Jurassic Park,” and if you haven’t, then do yourself a favor and go watch it right now. Are you watching it? Isn’t it great? Alright, so let’s carry on. NOW almost everyone has seen the original “Jurassic Park,” and I think we can all agree that it’s glorious. My wonderful wife, knowing my love for this movie, recently got me a toy from it. So today, we’re looking at the “Jurassic Park Dr. Ian Malcolm Glider Escape Pack!”
Tumblr media
Quick rehash about the plot of “Jurassic Park,” in case you need the refresher: a rich dude finds a way to bring back dinosaurs in modern times, which everyone tells him is a bad idea, and decides to open a theme park with them, which he cuts some important corners on. He invites a group of scientists to the park to confirm it’s safe, so that the insurance companies will sign off on it. Thanks to the aforementioned cut corners and the actions of the single IT guy who worked there (“We spared no expense” my ass), the park’s power and security craps out during a storm, trapping everyone on an island now roaming with dinosaurs, including velociraptors and a T-Rex, because bringing those back from the dead in a world where they have no natural predators was a great decision. Now, there’s some room for debate on how much of the park’s failure is from the owner cutting essential corners and pouring money into things like presentation and ice cream, and how much of it comes from intentional sabotage from the IT guy, who it’s implied put in a very low bid to get the job, but it’s my blog and I’m blaming the rich guy.
The main focus of this set is my favorite human from the franchise, Dr. Ian Malcolm, as played by the always-delightful Jeff Goldblum. Malcolm is a snarky mathematician who specializes in Chaos Theory and is brought in to mathematically predict the odds of the park going to Hell in a handbasket. Once he sees the dinosaurs in person, he quickly goes from “oh wow, the dinosaurs are alive” to “oh dear God, this is gonna be such a disaster.” Spoiler alert: he’s right, and a bunch of people die. Malcolm’s such a delight in the first movie that he was made the star of the sequel, “The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” and would go on to appear in two of the “Jurassic World” movies.
The toy we’re looking at today, “Jurassic Park Dr. Ian Malcolm Glider Escape Pack,” is part of a Target-exclusive line of “Jurassic Park” toys meant to homage the original movie toys from 1993, when the movie first came out. And the fact it came out 30 years ago makes me want to go drink and cry. The different toy sets in this line are based off the original toys, but, unlike other toylines that have done similar things, such as the “Star Wars Retro Collection” and “Transformers Vintage G1 and Beast Wars,” the figures in this line are modern toys with details and accessories inspired by the originals, instead of rereleases of the orignal figures. They’re also not modern versions of the original toys, like how Hasbro released updated versions of Greedo, a Jawa, and Obi-Wan Kenobi as part of the “Star Wars Black Series.” Instead, the sets here are original sets based off different ideas from the original line, which makes for some fun and interesting toys.
This set features Dr. Malcolm wearing a winged jetpack, which the packaging calls a glider,” and swooping in to rescue a baby dinosaur from a larger dinosaur by shooting the larger dinosaur with a gun bigger than Malcolm’s own torso. This toy takes a lot of inspiration from the original “Ian Malcolm with Launching Tranq Missile Dart” toy. The Ian Malcolm figure in this set is a smaller version of the original, with better detailing and articulation. His glider pack looks almost identical to the original’s, just with the addition of wings, and his gun’s large enough to make an NRA member feel emasculated. He’s even got a large, translucent green missile, which is very similar to the original figure’s missile, just without the grey part the original’s missile had. In terms of being a solid homage to the original, this toy passes with flying colors. Plus, I do really like how the figure took a lot of inspiration from the original and then added on. It’s not the same toy from ’93 and successfully stands on its own, but you can still see where it took from that first toy. It’s a successful modernization of a toy from the early 90’s.
Tumblr media
Not pictured: me desperately trying to clean all this before my wife needed to sit down.
Ian Malcolm himself is really articulated. He’s got articulation in his head, shoulders, elbows, legs, and knees, which makes for a lot of fun posing. In terms of looks, he’s fantastic. The sculpting is really on point with this toy. There’s a few buttons undone on his shirt, his clothes have some wrinkles, and even his boots have a lot of sculpted details. Where he really shines, though, is his head. His head does a terrific job of capturing the character from the big screen, from the rocker hair to the cocky smirk. One detail I especially love is what was done with his eyes. Malcolm has eyes behind his glasses, which are a separate piece that was attached to his head. Behind the glasses, and visible through them if you look close enough, are actual eyes. It’s an added detail to this toy that I really like. Just be careful, because since the glasses are a separate piece that the makers attached to Malcolm’s head, there’s a risk of accidentally breaking them off. It’d be hard to do, and I haven’t done it, but a small piece attached with glue or pegs will always have that risk.
Tumblr media
Malcolm has two main accessories: the aforementioned glider pack and large gun. First, let’s talk about that sweet-ass glider. The glider pack comes partially disassembled, so you need to attach the wings to it yourself. It’s a super easy process, as the wings peg right on and stay on securely. From the back, it looks almost identical to the backpack accessory from the original toy, just with wings. What that means is that it’s a black backpack with translucent green parts on it. It almost looks like Jeff Goldblum is wearing a nuclear jetpack to fight crime with, and I am definitely into that idea.
Tumblr media
Because if you’re gonna be a scientist, you should definitely have giant guns and jetpacks
Now, getting the backpack on Dr. Malcolm is a little bit trickier than it used to be, where you would just peg it onto his back. For this toy, you have to pull the bottom of the left shoulder strap out of the little slot it tabs into on the backpack. Then, you slide it over Malcolm’s right arm until you line the peg up with the hole on his back, which will let you attach the backpack. Now, put the left strap tab back into the slot. It’s a little more complicated than I like, and the tab feels a little loose. Also, putting the backpack on wreaks havoc on Malcolm’s ability to stand. He WILL fall over, and it IS because of the giant jetpack on his back.
Tumblr media
The other accessory is the large gun with the green missile. I love this weapon. Between the absurd size and the green missile, it feels less like something you use to tranquilize a dinosaur and more like something you use to kill Superman. It’s pure 90’s glory, and I love it. The missile is spring loaded and does have some power, so keep that in mind. Don’t aim it at anyone’s face, or there’s gonna be issues. My only problem with the gun is that it’s so big that Malcolm will fall over if you put it in his hand. Rule of thumb: big accessories mean little balance.
Tumblr media
Lex Luthor’s latest weapon to kill Superman
There are two dinosaurs in this set, and each have their own accessories. So yeah, this is a longer review. I just waited to bring it up until now because now you’re trapped in this review and have to see it through! Trapped! TRAPPED, I SAY!
Anyways, the first dinosaur is a baby triceratops. She has no articulation at all, which is alright with me since more articulated figures in this set would drive up the price. She looks very pretty, though. I love her colors, especially the facial markings. They draw attention to her surprised expression and match her horns, which, again, look very nice. I also really like her sculpted details. They add some texture to the figure and also really add to her appearance. Without them, she’d look like a cheap, dollar store toy.
Tumblr media
Soon to star in about 15 “Land Before Time” sequels
She has one accessory, a harness that fits over her back. It’s a nice little accessory that fits pretty snugly on her and has a handle so Dr. Malcolm can carry her away. Getting the handle in his hand can be tricky, though, so you might have to fiddle a little with it.
Tumblr media
It turns out that, even as a baby, a triceratops weighs a crapload.
The other dinosaur is a dilophosaurus, which, as a carnivore who needs to eat meat to survive, is our villain for this set. Because the Great Circle of Life can kiss our collective asses. She looks pretty good, too, with her dark green body and the leaf green markings. It really draws in the eye without clashing and sells the idea that this is a jungle predator. She has a little articulation, which is nice, since it lets her pose a little and chase her prey. Her mouth opens and her limbs can all move, but be careful with the legs. They’re a bit stiff, and I’ve heard some people worry about damaging them from moving them too much. She also has a tab in her back you can pull up that has a code you can scan as part of an app meant to go with the toy. Now, her tail looks like it should be able to move. It can’t. Don’t be tempted. It’s not stuck, it doesn’t need a little force to move, and it’s not a factory error. The tail does not move, and attempting to force the issue will not end well.
Tumblr media
Ugh, she’s making a face. Now we gotta take the picture again
Her accessories are a set of restraints: a muzzle for her head and a set of cuffs for her limbs. The cuffs clip onto her limbs nicely, and the muzzle fits snugly onto the head. The end result is that you really get the feeling this is a dangerous animal being transported in a zoo. I really like how it comes out.
Tumblr media
The all-dinosaur version of “Silence of the Lambs” was a smash hit
“Jurassic Park Dr. Ian Malcolm Glider Escape Pack” is a Target exclusive set that normally goes for about $25, but my wife got me this one for about $17 because it was on sale. The set’s aimed at ages 4+, but keep in mind that the giant missile does have some kick to it. Would I recommend this set? Very much so. The figures all look great, the accessories are fun, and it’s got everything I loved about the original toys as a kid in it. It’s a solid addition to your collection, and who could say no to the seductive looks of Plastic Jeff Goldblum? Next time, we’ll be looking at some more fun stuff in the lead up to our next series of theme reviews. For now, this is JS signing off and wishing you Happy Toy Hunting!

Top Ten Character Essence
(Your top ten characters decided by their essence or meaning to you)
Thanks for the tag @mariahwritesstuff
Join in if you like @clairelsonao3 @hd-literature @sam-glade @zmwrites and anyone else who thinks this looks fun (no pressure!)
(This list is not all-inclusive because I am terrible at making decisions and get attached to everything.)
10. Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy-books, not the terrible movie or laughably bad show)
I was known as the Harry Potter girl growing up (ugh), but Vampire Academy was the first series I truly fell in love with. Rose is loyal, sarcastic, a lot stubborn and a total bad ass. Her character development over the course of the series shows her go from a very talented but totally immature protector to a wise and trusted guardian.
9. Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly/Serenity)
One of the saddest things about Firefly being cancelled is that so many of the characters had a lot of potential to have great stories. Mal for me was one of those. He fought to free the struggling people from the tyranny of the government and failed miserably, turning him into someone completely cynical and closed off. He still finds a way to help in any way he can and depends on his crew to keep him grounded. I still love the line “May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”
8. Nomi Marks (Sense8)
I could honestly put all of the main characters from this show on my list, it’s one of my favorite shows of all time. Nomi’s journey didn’t start with her transition (MtF). It started with a trans woman discovering she is psychically connected to 7 strangers. Sense8 was my first show with what could be considered real inclusivity and Nomi had by far one of my favorite stories. She’s a whip-smart and sassy “hacktivist” and spends her time just enjoying life and helping others like her with difficult pasts learn to enjoy theirs. In one of my favorite scenes she says “The real violence, the violence I realized was unforgivable, is the violence that we do to ourselves, when we're too afraid to be who we really are.” I’ve thought about it every single day since.
7. Lord Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
He really did have every reason to be a villain. He was permanently disfigured and banished by his own family as a literal child and sent on what everyone believed to be a futile mission just to get rid of him. He rejected most of the guidance from his caring Uncle until Zuko made the choice to look inward and change for himself. I know people bring him up a LOT for these kinds of posts, but for good reason. He realized that he could simply choose to do the right thing, after years of being angry, scared and alone. That’s powerful.
6. Evelyn Wang (Everything, Everywhere, All At Once)
My new favorite movie. As a white woman I will never be able to connect with this movie as much as the Asian community, and that’s okay. Inclusion should be about bringing stories from all cultures and all types of people to life, while having small parts of the story that everyone can connect to. For Evelyn, she was just a very lost, very sad woman who had given up on having any happiness in her life. She was beaten down, tired, overwhelmed and unable to reconnect with her own family through all of this. Still, when she was told that “Nothing matters”, in the end, she chose her daughter, Joy. “When nothing else matters, choose joy” is a pretty powerful philosophy.
5. Max Mayfield (Stranger Things)
Her story in season 4 really spoke to me. I feel like a lot of stories don’t always acknowledge that you can still grieve someone that caused you pain. A lot of her struggles really resonated with me and I just see her as a really important character.
4. Finn Mertens (Adventure Time)
What can I say? He’s a lovable idiot who becomes one of the most legendary heroes of all time. I relate to that because I myself am a lovable idiot but I’d settle for being just a well-liked author.
3. Amity Blight (The Owl House)
Amity easily had one of the best character arcs of that entire show. She was someone who was the best at everything and slowly realized that she was kind of terrible at just being a person. By the end of the show she was happy with herself, her life and her found family and that’s all anyone can really ask for.
2. Edalyn Clawthorne (The Owl House…again)
Girl’s had it rough. She is cursed at a young age, essentially destroying any potential she had in the magical world. Her curse led to a devastating fallout with her family and she spent majority of adulthood in isolation. She used that solitude to become confident in herself and her magic and became one of the most powerful witches ever. When she is given the opportunity to come face to face with the person who cursed her, she chose forgiveness. She took in a strange human who was lost because she saw herself at the same age and wished there was something back then to guide her. By the end of the show she has found the people who love and respect her for who she is: The love of my life.
1. Luz Noceda (The…Owl House)
All she ever wanted was to be understood. That’s the most relatable thing I’ve ever heard. When she comes across a strange realm, she doesn’t see demons or witches, she sees other people who are struggling to find who they are. By showing compassion and love to these people she becomes one of the most strongest and respected witches of all time. Her journey is so important to me and I hope all of us can find a Luz to show us what true friendship and love really looks like.

OCs and WIPs Masterlist
Here's every WIP, original and otherwise, I've got running right now. I've got older projects I may dig up someday and gods know I'll come up with more, so I'll add/subtract as things change.
Help me stay motivated! Feel free to ask anytime about any of these projects, characters, or fics!
Current fics:
Becoming is Unbecoming (IHNMAIMS, 9/? chapters)-- jelly!Ted finds the other survivors. Mostly hurt/comfort.
Sympathy for the Devil (IHNMAIMS, 1/? chapters)--AM gets trapped in Ted's head after the events of the game. Hurt/Comfort, angst, slow recovery, character exploration.
Original Stories:
Wyatt and Malcolm, aka the Oriaz Crew-- fantasy world with undead demon-slayers and the strange things they fight. The grumpy one is friends with the sunshine one. Found family out the wazoo.
Reid and Leif-- sci-fi fighter pilot rebelling against the system in the name of his lost brother. Technopathy and brain-to-brain interfacing. Political rebellion, global war, some aliens maybe.
Lenny-- a young tech nerd gets swept up in an Illuminati-esque organization fighting a supergenius who makes cyborgs. Body horror, found family, lots of violence and gore, spy-type stuff.
Mordred and Valiant-- an outlaw alchemist and a failed succubus both find out they're "special." The second closest thing to romance I'll ever write. Fantasy, gore, some religious critique, possibly sex.
Delphi, Shiloh, and Nestor-- in a post-WWIII world, mutants made for combat are finding other ways to survive. The closest thing to romance I'll ever write. Exploration of abusive relationships, sci-fi, a touch of noir, spy stuff, gay sex.
Shit I think about but never write:
Leander and Calleo-- what happens when the "chosen one" loses to the baddies; a world-ending demon is trapped in his long-suffering vessel, hijinks ensue.
Jason Liakos-- the son of a famous geneticist is legally claimed by the organization his dad made for having patented combat genes. Technically my first novel, not that I ever actually wrote it.
Tilion/Elijah and Autumn-- a dragonslayer from the past is transported to a future where dragons and humans coexist.
Mark and Jared-- a young mage discovers his place in an urban fantasy and finds himself, not proudly, the low man on the pole beside his hyper-powerful friends. YA-ish.
Cyrus-- manmade monster combat is everyone's favorite gladiator sport until someone enters a mostly-human combatant. Gore, body horror, poorly-written political intrigue.
Vaalik plots-- shapeshifting aliens invade earth. There are, like, three different plots that run through this concept at different points in the story. October is an amnesiac soldier that befriends an alien; London is part of the cleanup crew in the early days of the truce; Dez, Russ, and Kat run control on the results of mutating alien diseases.
Tom, Rich, and Basil-- three teenage boys on a crazy fun frat-boy adventure to expunge the demon from Tom's body. Not actually as fun as it sounds.

2010 - semifinal 1
originally posted 6/18/20
Moldova Ugly 2010 outfits aside, this is actually a pretty good song. Olia and Sergei are pretty good singers, and that stage performance was so fun and energetic! I think we need to appreciate Sunstroke Project's violinist a lot more. Epic Sax Guy definitely deserves the love he gets, but violin guy also really brought the energy, definitely started the song off right. Russia I'm so baffled by the fact that it was Russia who sent this. It's so folksy and just... weird. Peter Nalitch sure does have a lot of feelings. I like it though! It's really nice to listen to and definitely a break from Russia's usual stuff.
Estonia This is just really weird. I like the chorus but I don't like that the camera angles are exactly the same each time through. Malcolm Lincoln sure does have a signature stage energy, feels almost manic to me, and while it does make the song stand out in everyone's memory that isn't necessarily a good thing. Slovakia There are many good things about this - I like Kristina's voice and I love the woodland aesthetic. I think the song was well-served by being in Slovakian, which is such a lovely language. I think the background singer really harmonized with Kristina well. However, putting that backing singer in a wedding dress? Not the move! There were also a couple sections of the song that were weird - the bit after the first chorus where Kristina is lifted up and the background singer is just doing weird shit, and the part towards the end where Kristina is just vocalizing. Staging didn't suck but it wasn't overall strong.
Finland This is cute. Lots of nice harmonic stuff and I really like the way the singers' voices sound together. However, the weird tempo stuff is kind of putting me off the song. It slows down and speeds up and slows down again and it just makes the song seem to stall. Latvia I like this entry insofar as the one clip that everyone uses in their recap videos. The rest of it is too strange for my taste. Aisha in a bathrobe, cross necklace, and bondage shoes singing about Mr. God and her uncle Joe? I mean, the song's not even that good. Especially dislike the verses. Aisha is a strong singer I guess, especially at the end, but she did have a tendency to go off-key a little bit. Serbia My best friend and I have a joke that Milan Stankovic looks like a Kpop boy with that bad haircut. Honestly, the outfits are what I hate most about this! Like yeah Ovo Je Balkan is a meme song but it's really fun, there's nothing actually bad about the composition and the performance was pretty good. Bosnia & Herzegovina A strong entry musically, but I especially love the staging on this one! It's so good, especially in the beginning with the lights and the smoke and the music combining to really simulate a thunderstorm.
Poland Snow White has come to the Eurovision stage! This song has such a strong beginning but then it really let me down. I don't like the jazz influences in the verses and I saw no need for the random backing singer to have a costume change seemingly out of nowhere. Incredible backup singers though and I did enjoy the chorus. Belgium Me And My Guitar is probably one of my favorites from this year. It's sweet and calming, and it doesn't try too hard - all the show comes from its simplicity. Malta Absolutely nothing special about this entry. Thea has a strong voice, the staging is for the most part nice, but it's nothing that stands out. I do, however, really dislike the bird dancer towards the end, it just looked weird. Albania This song goes hard! In terms of composition alone it's definitely a favorite. I think Juliana is a fine performer but there are aspects of her performance I don't like... her styling, for one, that outfit and that hairstyle. Greece Definitely energetic with competent staging, but Giorgios doesn't have a strong voice and I really dislike the verses.
Portugal Not a huge standout, but Ha Dias Assim is a nice enough song, with a tasteful performance sung well by Filipa. I really didn't like the pink lighting though, it was a bit much. North Macedonia I love love love the chorus in this one! Staging is pretty good and while the rap part does kind of come out of nowhere I don't actually dislike it. Gjoko's live vocals are good too. Belarus I hate this song so much. It's so boring, so saccharine... vocals aren't even that good, the butterfly wings that pop up are literally the only interesting thing happening here. How the heck did this qualify? Iceland Oof, once the last chorus really kicks in with the key change this song goes so hard! Yeah, Je Ne Sais Quoi is a pretty middle-of-the-road song by any modern standard but I really enjoy it. Hera has a good voice and a lot of stage energy and the song isn't, like, fantastic or anything but it definitely suits her and the stage.
My personal qualifiers Belgium Russia Albania Bosnia & Herzegovina North Macedonia Iceland Moldova Portugal Slovakia Serbia Miscellaneous thoughts Voting during the entries is such a weird concept. I know they only did it for two years but like... who thought this would be a good idea? The skit with Erik trying to lead the fans around Oslo was really funny!

MCFARLANE FILMS, wiip, ROOSTER TEETH STUDIOS, and writer  DAN DOMINGUEZ partner to develop adult animated series RAW10
McFarlane Films announced a partnership with independent studio wiip and Warner Bros. Discovery’s Rooster Teeth Studios to develop an adult animated TV series based on the popular McFarlane Toys RAW10 toy line – an action figure series of cybernetically enhanced animals created by McFarlane Toys and recently sold exclusively at Walmart. The team will be taking the project to buyers at the top of next month.
Tumblr media
From creator Dan Dominguez – known for Netflix’s SEIS MANOS and HBO Max’s gen:LOCK –  the RAW10 adaptation will be an R-Rated Saturday morning cartoon for adults that satirically explores the tropes of 80’s era animation through the lens of McFarlane’s toyline.
Comic book legend Todd McFarlane, creator of the Spawn universe, won two Emmy Awards for his groundbreaking animated series of the same name, which aired on HBO from 1997 to 1999. RAW10 represents McFarlane’s first foray back into the medium – 23 years later – in collaboration with wiip and Rooster Teeth Studios. His toy company, McFarlane Toys, is a top-5 global leader in its field, redefining the action figure market’s standards and a licensee of world-class brands and leading global franchises. When McFarlane first announced the RAW10 launch in 2020, pre-orders sold out within hours. The line was met with widespread praise and enthusiasm not only from the media, but also from adult collectors and pop-culture enthusiasts who grew up during the modern action figure renaissance of the 80s and 90s.
“Having fun in the older-skewing animation space is always something I am thinking about,” said Todd McFarlane. “With the off-beat mind of writer Dan Dominguez and the experience of Rooster Teeth, we are all hoping the combined total will be a wild and entertaining ride for everyone. Animation lets our minds have an unlimited budget to create everything.”
Writer and executive producer Dan Dominguez has worked in animation with such genre luminaries as John Carpenter, Clive Barker, Malcolm Spellman, and Jeff Howard. He is creating and executive producing the animated series, alongside Todd McFarlane, McFarlane Films’ Sean Canino, wiip’s Paul Lee, Mark Roybal and Nate Winslow and Rooster Teeth Studios’ Dan Shorr.
“When I was a kid, I loved Saturday Morning Cartoons and, as I got older, my love of animation only got stronger thanks to anime,” said Dominguez. “So many of the great R-rated toons out of Japan showed me that genre animation could be made for grownups. That they could be darkly hilarious, thematically rich, cerebral, violent, and seductive. So when I got the chance to come up with the world’s first adult Saturday morning cartoon, and to do it with Todd McFarlane – a personal hero who opened my eyes to how grown up comic books could be… needless to say, this project has been a dream come true. So get ready for deeply unsettling, grown-up style laughs! Thrills! Chills! Gore! Sex! Adult themes! And… emotions! Yes, I do in fact plan on having a 30 foot tall cybernetic gorilla make you cry.”
RAW10 toyline fan favorites will make their debut in the show, including FREN-Z – a robotic blend of a great white shark and prehistoric megalodon, BATTLESNAKE – a super genius reptilian monster, and CY-GOR - part guerilla, part cyborg. Although CY-GOR was originally introduced in the Spawn universe, and his Spawn backstory may come into play, the RAW10 animated series will remain separate from the Spawn franchise.
Independent studio wiip, known for HBO’s Emmy Award-winning series Mare of Easttown and Apple TV+’s Peabody Award-winning Dickinson, has been eager to enter the animated space and has prioritized development in the medium.
"With Todd's highly anticipated return to TV animation, Dan's blistering run of genre defying shows, and Rooster Teeth's flawless track-record, wiip couldn't be in better company to launch our first animated show,” said Mark Roybal, wiip. “We're always going to bet on the most original, daring and creative filmmakers - and that's what we have with Todd, Dan, and Dan. This show is definitely going to wake up the whole house on Saturday morning.”
Rooster Teeth Studios’ production credits include Michael B. Jordan’s gen:LOCK on HBO Max and Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy on Netflix. Rooster Teeth also produces the award-winning Halo satire Red vs. Blue, which is the longest-running web series in history, and the global phenomenon RWBY. Rooster Teeth Studios is represented by CAA.
“I had a Spawn movie poster at my Bar Mitzvah, which is a choice that feels officially justified,” said Dan Shorr, Rooster Teeth Studios’ Head of Scripted. “We’ve absolutely loved working with our partners at McFarlane Films and wiip and reuniting with our brilliant gen:LOCK Executive Producer Dan Dominguez to help put together this unique love letter to genre storytelling.”

October 28, 2018 Providence, RI
This show took place at another nice classy theater, one I haven't been to before. It was also a seated one, which I know a lot of people don't like (a group that includes my friend Stephanie, who I was attending the show with, and Flans, judging by how often he orders everyone at such shows to stand up), but I don't mind and in some ways actually prefer--while I do my own version of boppin' around at shows, it's never anything so intensely physical that I can't manage it sitting down, and also as a short person it's nice to not have to worry about being able to see.
They opened with "Damn Good Times." This was an opener I'd seen quite a few times at this point on the tour, but I think it makes a good one--while I adore those really high-energy rockers anywhere in the set, I think they work particularly well as openers (to really jumpstart the show with a song that's the musical equivalent of a strong shot of espresso) and closers (so everyone can end what was surely a fantastic experience on an appropriately high note).
Next came "I Left My Body," "Your Racist Friend," "Particle Man," and "The Famous Polka," after which there was some talk about the "elegant but decaying" venue and the crowd, who were all "sitting down and sober," which Flans found to be "confusing AF." This was followed by some joking about what "AF" means--John said it was "and friends," which I found particularly amusing in light of the Dallas show I'd attended earlier in the year, when he legit didn't know what it meant when he saw it written on the setlist and Flans had to explain it to him.
Next they played "Birdhouse in Your Soul" and "The Guitar," during which Flans introduced the Future of Sound portion as being "future AF." Also during it John played the keyboard with his face (his forehead specifically) because he's THE SILLIEST. Other very cute things he did during other parts of the song included hopping and waving during the "the lion waves goodbye" part, both of which I've seen him do during the song before (especially the hopping, he does that often), but that doesn't make me any less excited about how cute it is every single time. After the song, there was some talk about how great it had been and that the show had now peaked only mid-way through the first set.
Then John got out the contra-alto clarinet, and after it was identified as such there was some comment about foley effects, which Flans used as a springboard to talk about their time working for Malcolm in the Middle, and how they would put a lot of work into their assigned musical cues, but from the sound of it did not have a very good experience with the sound editor. (This was interesting to me because I don't think I've really heard them say anything too negative about the Malcolm gig, other than that it was a ton of work and sometimes left them with not as much time as they'd like to spend on their own stuff.)
The appearance of the contra-alto in the main set always heralded an appearance of "All Time What" on this tour, so naturally they played that next. Afterwards, Flans plugged the I Like Fun vinyl, again pointing out the resemblance between a record sleeve and a calendar.
Afterwards they played "Let's Get This Over With," which remained absolutely stellar live, and then "Doctor Worm." Then there was some talk about how in Baltimore people were doing the "hoo hoo" + fist pump thing, like people would in the audience at the Arsenio Hall Show, and how weird it was cos that was all supposed to have been over like 20 years ago.
Then came one of the major show surprises: "Museum of Idiots," which is always an intensely emotional song for me to see live, and then another very exciting surprise, "Authenticity Trip," a song that recently seized the crown to become My Current Favorite Flansong, based in large part on witnessing several years of always completely awesome live performances of it, so that was a real treat.
Then John said they were about to "take a break and think about what we've done," and then they were trying to determine whether the next song appeared on Glean or Phone Power, but ended up settling on "Who cares?" The actual correct answer was Phone Power, as the song was "Trouble Awful Devil Evil." Then they closed the first set with the always-great "Spy."
The second set opened with the familiar Quiet Storm duo of "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too" and "James K. Polk," with the also-familiar transition between them of John describing the crazy time jump we would now be making from 1840 to the distant future of 1844, where we would be experiencing "future shock" brought on by such wild futuristic things as "electric beards, mechanical buggy whips, and bass scrolls." (I had no idea what that last one meant and had to look it up--per Wikipedia, "A scroll is the decoratively carved beginning of the neck of certain stringed instruments, mainly members of the violin family.")
Afterwards:
JF: And nothing rewards the...quasi-folk satisfaction of an acoustic set like electronic drums. But there's actually a couple things about this very special set right here at the Columbus Theatre that make it different. Usually we have--we bring in these LED lights to sort of reproduce the effect of limelight, which is a very traditional theatrical effect. But because this theatre is largely in its original form...I'm just staring down like twelve lightbulbs. And, uh, it's very exciting to have the real thing. *crowd cheers and applause* Right below them there's about, like, fourteen red and blue bulbs that I guess they bring out for the, uh--for the kids' shows.
Then he introduced the next song, "I Like Fun," as featuring "the contra-alto clarinet and of course the trumpet stylings of Mr. Curt Ramm--of Rhode Island--Rhode Island is for Curt."
So they played that and then "Applause Applause Applause," which he introduced as being from way back in September, the peaceful and calm times before the current dystopian hellscape (when of course by 2018 we were two solid years in to dystopian hellscape at this point!).
They wrapped up the Quiet Storm portion with the always-welcome "Meet James Ensor," and then the rest of the band reappeared for the not-really-welcome-but-always-expected "Istanbul."
This was followed up with "Why Does the Sun Shine?". John was once again handling the spoken bits in the middle, and once again doing the weird affected (and very funny) voice/bit I first saw him do in Vancouver a few weeks earlier. This time he explained that the sun is an "atom-smashing, atom-humiliating machine," and that the heat and light of the sun are caused by the nuclear reaction between "Blackstone Blvd., Foxpoint, Raymond Patriarca, and this finger!" (all of which I assume to be local Providence references that I'll admit I didn't fully understand, but he probably got pretty familiar with the city when he was kicking around there in his days with the Mundanes).
Next they played "Music Jail" and "Experimental Film"--one of my top Flans favorites of latter-day output and one of my top songs ever which I've barely seen at all, respectively, so I enjoyed both very much.
Then:
JL: This is the part of the show where we slow everything down, and-- SOMEONE IN CROWD: OH NO! JL: Yeh, I know. Why? So, John Flansburgh! JF: Yes, John! JL: How was your day today? JF: My day was pretty uneventful. I had a submarine sandwich. That was exciting. Authentic, y'know, New England-style submarine-- JL: What's weird is you can't really get that in New York. It's uncanny. JF: It's one of the things that sucks about New York. But y'know--New Haven's got the pizza thing beat, they've got the subs here...There's so many different reasons to be morbidly obese in New England. JL: Compelling. JF: So many motivating factors. *pause* I like it. *pause, lowers voice* I'm totally out of control. No, I pretty much--I had sort of a nothing day. I was kind of--I, y'know, drank too much last night. Playing the show in New York and--my wife is an enabler. That's my way of holding her responsible for my actions. You guys can use that. JL: So, um, here's another song...
Said song was, very excitingly, "Mammal," followed up by "She's Actual Size." This was in turn followed by "Whistling in the Dark," with some talk in between about how it's a song that features the whole band playing and there's some question of which of them will end first. Then Flans encouraged us all to "flood the aisles" for the appropriately rockin' main set closer, "The Communists Have the Music."
They returned for the first encore with the even-more-rockin' "Twisting." Then came the band intros, in which we learned that Danny is "a blessing and a treasure" and Marty "gives so much and only asks for your screams." The first encore ended with "Hey, Mr. DJ, I Thought You Said We Had a Deal," which caused me to really really rock out like it always does, especially when Curt is there.
Normally I like to do my best to avoid setlist spoilers (I don't do too much looking at posted setlists for shows shortly before ones I'm attending myself, and I never look at the on-stage setlists even if I'm close enough to see them) because it's a singularly thrilling experience to hear a favorite song I wasn't expecting. But my friend/show-attendee-buddy Stephanie and I had engaged in some speculation pre-show via a photo on Flans's Instagram, which declared the final song of the show to be something listed as just "SLEEP." I speculated that it was perhaps "Sleeping in the Flowers," a big favorite of mine from John Henry that I've never gotten to see live (a category that is way too big for an album that's tied for my favorite, but that's a whole other rant).
Well, it was not what I was hoping for, but I wasn't too disappointed because what it turned out to be was also awesome, and somehow a possibility that hadn't occurred to either of us to suggest (which meant it had that delightful element of surprise I'm always seeking): "Sleepwalkers"! It wasn't the first time I'd seen it, but the times I had were far enough back (15 years) in the dim mists of memory that it might as well have been, and (according to the wiki's setlists) this was the first they'd played it in eight years. I've always found it to be a deceptively (I say "deceptively" only because I've found few people who agree with me on this) creepy, even terrifying song, which made it feel extremely appropriate for this show a mere three days before Halloween, and in the hushed and darkened theatre it was a goosebumps-raising experience for sure, and an eerie and excellent way to end the show!
Final notes: Afterwards, I convinced Marty that Stephanie was the worthiest recipient of his signed drum head for the show (after slightly reluctantly admitting to him that I did already get one from him on the tour's spring leg), so that was cool since she hadn't gotten one from him at all before. John was wearing that black fleecey pullover thing he's fond of, not terribly exciting in itself but he did have the sleeves pushed up and seeing his arms that way, that part is always extremely exciting to me (more so than just seeing them when he's wearing a t-shirt for reasons I can't even fully explain). Of course, while I do still care, all of this has become way, way reduced in importance since "all spex all the time" became the norm!

I just.. wish my nan and my dad wouldn't wipe my transness under the rug when I came out. It's like they just want one part of me to stay like it "always has been" because they know I'm the failure child. I know I'm the failure child. We all do. I'm best friends with my replacement and yet nobody knows who I am. Am I just going to have to keep coming out to them until they finally accept it? I.. don't want to do that. I just want my dad to understand. I want them to understand.
If I had to tell them everything... I dont know how I'd do it. I wanna sit down in a room with them and a third party to just.. talk about it. I want them to stop ignoring me. I want them to understand. But they won't... they don't even know if I'm a child or an adult. Old enough to shoot a gun and drive a car but not old enough to express myself without conditional love. I just... wanna be a boy without judgey looks or tense air. I wanna go to sleep without crying for 2 hours first. I wanna feel comfort in my own skin. I want my voice to sound like my own and not some.. teenage girl. I hate that word. Girl. It makes my mouth feel like throw up just thinking about it.
I don't want an apology for how I feel I want an apology for what you've done. I want an apology, a real one, for you making my want to commit awful acts to myself every time I'm alone. I want an apology for all of the awkward silences filled with unanswered, untouched questions in the backs of our minds. I want an apology for the pain. You don't understand and if you keep this up, you never will.
May we hope this is not my final goodbye.
When I die I want people to know I was a person, not just a statistic. I want people to know I loved my brother and my theatre department. I want people to know I loved being on stage. I loved minecraft and overwatch. I loved Nintendo and littlest pet shops, my little pony, and the teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Mikey was always my favorite. I loved Markiplier and Jacksepticeye, Eleanor Neale, and Therm. I loved Ethan is online, nickisnotgreen, and Jarvis Johnson. Oversized sweatshirts and dogs. Sticks and the mountain air. Worms and bugs. I loved hand painted wallpaper. I hated math and authority. I want people to know the pain that came with being transgender and I want people to know that my parents and my life never affected my transness. Ever since I had a general grasp on gender I always knew I didn't fit into where I was placed. I just.. didn't know how to express it or what it was. I thought it was just something I had to live with, knowing I was something else but acting as is. Now I have a name. I told my parents about it, I was excited to finally be able to be a boy. But when time came.. they threw me away. They replaced me. When I finally announced it I was cast aside. Ignored. I was the uncomfortable air in the room. I was a smudge on a white counter top.
Let this not be a suicide note.. let this be something people can learn from. I don't want to leave behind the things I love but... I can't deal with all of this. I'm not going to die. In not going to commit suicide. That's a stretch.. I won't commit suicide if they accept me. And if they do not well.. I wanted to say thank you to Malcolm for pushing me into something I grew to love with all my heart, Maren for being the light in the dark, Nico for being there for everyone. Dexter for being my thread to hold onto for so many years, Mary Santa for helping all of us through hard times and making something for these lost kids to fill their hearts with, Alyssa for changing my world view, Franklin for bringing the laughs, learning, and knowing when to be real, Catie Page for helping me open up a little, Bunnie for being such a fun person to meet, and everyone else. If I didn't mention you by name it is not because I didn't care enough it's just because there are far too many people who helped me.
One last person I want to thank is Reese. I want to thank you for showing me how to love. What it should feel like. Even if in the end you broke my heart I still can't completely let go how happy our time together was. I apologize for anything I did to upset you ever, but I wanted to say one last goodbye.

🚨 NHIE SPOILERS BELOW 🚨
first of all. that was a crazy ass season. so much happened and i can barely keep up or remember. so while this probably won't be a coherent or well worded recap, yhat defintely won't go over everything that i just watched for the past six hours, it'll just be my thoughts for now.
personally, i really liked the kamala plot and her struggle in the workplace. it was probably one of my favorite parts of the season. i'm not sure if kamala will be ditching prashant for mr. kulkarni but if she does i wouldn't be shocked. considering how prashant played into the whole workplace problem. also rip steve lol who remembers him. homie got done dirty.
now speaking of devi. there were many things she did this season that were not at all good or rational. however, i do like the fact that they delved more into her grief, and overall she actually seemed to develop over the season which made me happy. there are aspects of her grieving process that kinda felt unanswered, but hey, it is what it is. for what it's worth, im happy with the amount of growth she had over ten episodes. i actually felt like giving devi a hug so many times towards the end. and maitreyi killed it as always.
regarding the new kids! malcolm, well, i honestly kinda have intense apathy towards him as a character. he was cool at the start, a dick at the end—so yeah, i feel like he served his purpose overall. i felt extremely bad for oliver the entire time. and aneesa! she was the coolest addition they could honestly have had to the team. she's fun, charming, and fits in very well. i felt extreme sympathy for her ed and im glad they put a hotline at the end of those episodes. she's a great girl.
i'm very glad they gave paxton more of a well fleshed out personality this season. he seemed much more personable overall. although i felt like his episode at times fell a bit flat or felt too preachy regarding the whole hot people can be smart too concept, it was overall a fantastic episode and gigi hadid was a great choice as narrator. also loved the little switch to ben's pov when andy steps in. that was funny. i also liked the fact that they went into his ethnicity!
regarding his romantic feelings for devi though. i feel like i can't understand? like does he like her? does he not? is he embarassed of her? is he not? i failed to understand where he was most of the time. the mixed signals, like. paxton. i like you, but huh? well, to be fair, the romance in devi's life this season was pretty much a rollercoaster ride anyways so. i do love paxton's obijan though. great guy. we didn't get enough of rebecca though!
out of the two besties, i honestly liked fab's story a lot more. it felt relatable, that whole feeling of not being able to fit in as a new sapphic. and i adore fab and eve. i'm glad they didnt make their relationship too cookie cutter.
eleanor's subplot was alright. again, it was really hard to kinda, if i put this blatantly, give a fuck about malcolm and whatever their relationship was. (loved tyler alveraz's performance though) but i liked her talking with her stepmom sharon. i wish they spent more time on that rather than malcolm but again, they don't have much time to waste.
i loved nalini's subplots. all of them. she was honestly one of my fav characters this season, as well as devi's grandma. we got to delve into the indian culture more too, so that was very cool. her relationship with dr. jackson was also nice for the short time they had with each other. i didn't expect them to breakup, i kinda just expected devi to learn to be okay with her mother moving on, but then again, i also agree that it felt a little fast. i loved the flashbacks with mohan too.
i feel like i wanna save ben and benvi for last because i have too much to say. it was an absolute rollercoaster ride to be a team ben while watching this season. i'm a bit dissapointed that we didn't get any individual plot regarding him, stuff that didn't have to do with girls, but i get why. he got that in s1, and it was paxton's turn to shine.
regarding the whole ben and aneesa thing; honestly, i think they're cute. i love aneesa and i love ben. i just want him to be happy. but it's clear he still has feelings for devi and he doesn't really know what he wants, which sucks for everyone involved. i think that he just assumed that devi liked paxton more than him, that he was her second choice (which honestly, considering the things that transpired, it's not very hard to see why he though that, and he was clearly hurt with her clear choice of paxton over him on multiple occassions) but oh well.
i feel like ben was a catalyst for a lot of the things devi needed to do. like apologize to aneesa, for example. and in that way, they still work well. i loved their banter, whenever we got it. i have hope for them in season 3 (if it happens), considering the way they ended it, but eh. aneesa is also a great girl, so it sucks that this is the direction we're going. but yeah. i am a bit bitter with the dreadf lack of benvi i kinda got this season, but their conversations and the way he helped push her development did make me feel a little better.
as for what team i'm on or whatever, i don't feel like i'm avidly on any team tbh. i'm still lowkey rooting for ben and devi. the reason why i'm not completely getting behind daxton is because i didn't really like what paxton did in episode 10, with the whole not wanting them to be public thing. the entire season felt like he was sending mixed signals. not that i'm saying hes a shitty guy or anything, but yeah. and the reason i'm not completely team ben is because he seems to be teetering between aneesa and devi, so yes, again with the mixed signals. kind of. but the reason i'm still rooting for ben is because i really liked the way they pushed each other, or majorly, he pushed her development, with asking her to apologize, etc. and although him getting together with anessa was not a win for me, a benvi, to relish, i think it helped devi learn to act a little more mature and less territorial.
if i'm being completely honest, i think that devi needed to be single at the end of this season, at least for now. i read the synopsis of episode 10 and was kinda hoping that she'd make that choice, that she'd choose herself, because what she needs isn't a boyfriend. what she needs is just to recover. and i honestly still don't feel like she completely got over her dad's death.
OVERALL THOUGH. this was a much better season than the first one. i feel like they finally got into their groove in terms of acting and comedy. (also trent is the funniest >>>) although i felt like this season was kinda like the first one but on steroids, which at most times was very anxiety inducing to watch, i did like the episodes and i was heavily entertained. go watch it!
i also really need a season 3 so—

Hi dear, I hope you are doing well ♥ Could you please write headcanon how would slashers react to their s/o having a panic fear of spiders? Like she always freezes or scream when she sees even a really small spider.
(today I freaked out, when I saw the eight-legged monster above my bed and wish I had some big stabby men here, who would save me :) )
Spiders simply have to many legs and to many eyes
-Fern🌿
Slashers X S/O With Arachnophobia
Michael Myers
He simply cannot understand why you’re afraid of spiders. You’re not afraid of a giant man who murders people, but you’re scared of a tiny insect with eight legs? Yeah, okay, makes sense.
The first time he sees you screaming and freaking out over a spider, he thinks that it’s hilarious. Michael has never seen you so scared of anything before. Not even he managed to get that kind of reaction from you when he was considering killing you. It amuses him that you’re so afraid of a bug.
When you scream for him it never fails to freak him out. He thinks that you’re in danger. So when he just sees you pointing at the spider he considers letting you suffer and deal with it on your own.
Once he’s done watching you have your bug breakdown he will kill it for you. It is his job to protect you after all and while he does occasionally enjoy seeing the fear in your eyes, he would much rather you fear him. That small bug is stealing his thunder, so it has got to go.
Bo Sinclair
There is most definitely plenty of spiders in Ambrose. Majority of the places are run down on the inside, which makes them a safe haven for creepy crawlies. So unfortunately for you, there will be plenty of encounters with the eight legged horrors that are spiders.
The first time Bo hears you scream he panics, thinking that you’re in danger. So when he finds you pointing at a spider, it’s safe to say that he is a little bit upset.
At the same time he also finds it endearing and loves that you come running to him to save you. It shows that you trust him to protect you, even from little nuisances.
But still, even though he does think you’re being dramatic he’s quick to squash them. Bo knows that there’s plenty of spiders in Louisiana that could be dangerous and land you in the ER so he’s more than happy to handle them for you.
Be prepared for Bo to give you hell about your fear though. “What are you so scared for darlin’? The thing ain’t but the size of a dime, if that.”
Vincent Sinclair
He spends most of his time in dark, cool tunnels underground. There’s spiders absolutely everywhere in his workshop, Vincent is just used to them at this point.
Vincent does his best to keep you up in the house after the first time a spider crawls over your leg and you loose your mind. That effort lasted about all of one day considering he hates working alone now and misses your presence. Knowing that you want to be with him also doesn’t help his resolve any.
Used to try and save the spiders but eventually gave up. There’s simply to many of them in Ambrose, so saving them just doesn’t do any good.
Luckily, Vincent takes your fear of spiders very seriously. So anytime you call upon him to save you from the eight legged nuisances he is always quick to oblige.
If you interrupt his work though it may annoy him a little bit but he’ll never let you know that. He knows that you can’t help your phobia, but don’t expect him to stick around after he finishes the job. May also get a little bit of an attitude afterwards as well but always ends up apologizing.
Brahms Heelshire
Spiders don’t phase Brahms. He lives in the walls with plenty of them and has more than likely come to appreciate them. Which is very surprising for Brahms. So sometimes he tries to save the spiders and move them outside. Unless he’s been bitten by one.
If Brahms has been bitten by a spider before then it just turns into the two of you freaking out and arguing over who has to kill the spider.
“Be a gentleman, Brahms! You kill the spider.” “No! You kill it, you’re the one being paid!”
If you don’t want to deal with the spiders, all it takes is Malcolm stepping on one for you one time when you started freaking out. Brahms saw you thank him for it and got jealous. Now Brahms is your official protector from creepy crawlies, not Malcolm.
Thomas Hewitt
You’re going to have to get over your fear of spiders if you want to live in the Hewitt house. The old place does a terrible job of keeping the bugs outside so you’ll see them scurrying across the floor pretty frequently.
You know what they say, everything is bigger in Texas. Turns out, the spiders are no exception, so good luck.
Thomas is very busy and handles most of the chores for the family. He doesn’t have the time to run to your rescue every time you see a spider.
When he is with you he won’t hesitate to kill them for you though. Thomas isn’t afraid of people with weapons, why should he be afraid of a small critter with eight legs?
Luda Mae would honestly just look at you like your stupid if you tell her about your fear. Nonetheless any spider she sees it quickly whacked with an old newspaper before you even have a chance to see it.
Billy Loomis
“How come you never scream for me like that, babe?”
Billy thinks it’s absolutely hilarious that you’re afraid of something so small. You can date a murderer but an eight legged bug is where you draw the line?
While he loves to tease you about it, he will still save you from the spiders. What kind of boyfriend would he be if he didn’t? “Ask nicely and I might kill it for you.” “You’ll kill people but not the spider?” “You know what, just for that you can kill it yourself. Have fun!” Or maybe not…
Walks away but circles right back around when he hears you freaking out again. Then he gets dramatic about everything and starts huffing and rolling his eyes at you.
Stu Macher
Much like Billy, Stu teases you but in a less condescending way. Stu keeps his teasing more lighthearted, he just has a tendency to go to far with it from time to time.
Is also very dramatic and makes a whole scene out of killing the spider for you. Acts like he’s your knight in shining armor.
On the bright side, him being a complete dork distracts you from the spider. Unlike some people *cough cough Billy* he doesn’t delay the part where he kills the spider.
However, he does expect payment for saving you and protecting you from the big bad arachnid. It’s okay he accepts cuddles and kisses as a form of payment.
Jesse Cromeans
He has spent to much time on his murder sprees in the Deep South to be scared of spiders. Everyone knows that the south has plenty of deadly spiders and Jesse sin;t fazed by any of them so you can count on him to keep you safe.
There aren’t any spiders in his house either. Jesse has to much money to allow any sort of bugs get anywhere close to his house. Any time you see a spider within the house it’s most likely already dead anyways.
Jesse finds your fear of the bugs cute. It makes you seem so innocent. His sweet kitten isn’t afraid of him or what he does but they’re afraid of a tiny little spider.
Asa Emory
Asa doesn’t fear spiders, the spiders fear him.
Unlike the other slashers, Asa doesn’t tolerate bug homicide. Any time you find a spider in the house you better let him know so that he can safely get rid of it.
Some times he’ll keep the spiders that find their way into the house. Spiders are his favorite after all and native species are important for the environment.
Sadly, he would use your fear against you if he deems it necessary. As long as you listen to him though, there won’t be any issue.
