penny + potential female friendships literally break my heart.

wondering if penny and astrid would've made good friends if she didn't end up heavily traumatised and at coates. like if someone got her therapy could they be besties. i see penny as pretty reserved around most people and very unsure around other girls, she hasn't had a normal childhood so of course she's not really adept in social situations. astrid may sort of take penny under her wing, show her more 'girly' things...penny & astrid going shopping, (for clothes and maybe some light makeup, like clear mascara and lip gloss, it would be ADORABLE i really want to write that now). astrid taking an interest in penny's schooling where no one really has before, she's sort of like the younger sister astrid never had and penny gets to experience a healthy sisterly relationship without viewing her through the prism of trauma and misplaced anger and jealousy that she did her actual sisters). penny and petey bonding would be so cute too, i think penny might ask for a gameboy of her own so they could chill together!

just...penny having girlfriends around her own age. diana showing her more trendy clothes to let her develop a style of her own, teaching her to own her natural face and not compare herself to other people. they could experiment with makeup together, paint each other's nails and roll their eyes at caine and drake's latest idiotic thoughts.

i want astrid, penny, taylor and diana as an all female friendship where they watch pretty little liars, the vampire diaries or criminal minds or something together (they all wait to watch the latest episodes until they can do it together) binge watching shitty movies or reality tv shows and having self-care nights, applying face masks and under eye patches, establishing skin care routines and swapping tips on how they deal with their periods, passing each other tampons and pads when needed cause if you don't have any one of the girls certainly will! i just want more female friendships in gone so badly i'm tempted to write some oneshots for them!
