just want to wake up next to josh on a semi-deflated air mattress inside a tent covered in leaves and dew. he'd smell like moss and bug spray, his skin soft and warm from being covered in blankets throughout the night.

want to watch as he cooks breakfast over the campfire, it all coming so natural to him even out in the wilderness amongst the trees. he'd finish up as the birds start to chirp and the mist from the morning has settled, letting the sun rays cast through the brush making everything golden.

how he'd offer up activities for the day. kayaking, nature walks, taking a dip in the lake, but always ending up in the hammock by midday and drifting off tangled up together.

want to laugh and sing and talk about what's on his mind as the sun starts to set and the fire dwindles. to gaze up at the stars until his eyes flutter from drowsiness and then do it all again the next day.

it's the need to get away for a bit. turn off and slow down before all the craziness starts again. to just breathe.

ough this guy i follow on twitter is in the process of remaking platinum's map w/ gen 5 graphics and it looks SUPER cool and i'm SUPER psyched for it but recently he put out proof-of-concept videos of hoenn maps and ooouuuhhh goddd i want to play emerald on a gen4/5 engine <- has never beaten a gen3 hoenn game

#on my third or fourth emerald playthrough. keep getting stuck at winona's gym. while i know technically it would mostly be the same in #a gen 4/5 engine #they're what i'm more familiar with yaknow #my comfort zone #there's another guy who IS working on making emerald in heartgold's engine #so that's something #but updates are slow #which isn't unexpected given it's one guy trying to reorchestrate a whole viddy game from scratch #also never beat my sapphire playthrough too lol #couldnt ever beat steven #tempted to fire it back up some day and see what the fuck young-me thought he was doing

this is the first time something my dad has done/said has triggered me in a while and wow i am feeling the repercussions! my body does not know it’s safe and it’s taking a lot of effort to calm down all the really strong emotional reactions i’m having to normal stuff now. just things like a friend isn’t feeling well so we can’t hang out and my brain is telling me they hate me and all that good stuff. i have done enough work to know it’s the trauma talking, but my heart hurts. getting older and understanding what’s happening when my parents are being ‘emotionally immature’ or outright emotionally manipulative is so interesting, because i still feel all the horrible feelings i experienced as a kid, but i’m not trapped in it/living with them, so i can actually process them instead of feeling like an emotional thunderstorm all the time. so hard to look back tho and actually understand what was happening. therapy will be helpful and intense tomorrow :/
