10 years ago today, my very favorite episode of THE WALKING DEAD first aired—Season 4’s “Still.” It’s widely known in the fandom as “the Beth and Daryl episode.” 💘💘

The Bethyl ship had officially launched in the first episode of THE WALKING DEAD’s season 4—“30 Days Without An Accident”—when Beth Greene hugged Daryl Dixon during a tender moment shared while they were in her prison cell. But “Still”—the 12th episode of that season—remains the most significant in their relationship timeline because it’s when they truly begin to mutually understand and appreciate each other. It’s also important because it was the first ever “bottle episode” of TWD—meaning that it focused on only 2 characters’ shared story throughout Its entirety. Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus absolutely shine in their acting in “Still.” And their chemistry is so compelling, electric, and romantic! 💞

I created this Bethyl edit to not only commemorate this special anniversary, but to also bring Daryl and Beth into the Barbiecore era of 2024.🩷

Notice the price tag of this Beth & Daryl doll duo is the original air date of “Still”: 3/2/14. 😉

The Beth Greene and Daryl Dixon packaged dolls in this pic are actually the McFarlane Toys action figures. It’s a photo of my own Beth & Daryl figures that I took several years ago. They are dressed in the outfits they wore in the “Alone” episode—the next one after “Still.” Also, the photos of Beth and Daryl that I used on the “packaging” are from “Alone” along with Beth’s line of dialogue—“Don’t you think that’s beautiful?” 👱🏻‍♀️💚

So in a way, my post and edit here honor both of these beautiful episodes that feature this couple that I STILL ship so hard… 😍🥰😌

Animals! I love critters and creatures, nothing makes me happier than seeing and learning about them. I saw a huge raven on a hike the other day and it was moseying like a little man along a footpath. Alongside the cool kingsnake i also saw that day it really made my week

Fruits and vegetables!!! This one is kinda self explanatory i just love that something so yummy can bring valuable vitamins and fiber to my diet. Thank you fruits and vegetables🍇🍈🍉🥦🥬🥒🫑🌶🌽🥕🧅🧄🥔🍆🥑🫒🍅🍊🍋🍌🍍🥭🍎🍏🍐🍑🍒🍓🫐🥝🥥

Video games!!! AaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA <- emotions beyond words. goes without saying. if i elaborated I'd be here all day

Uuuuh. Incense and scented candles. I only own like 2 or 3 but lighting something good and smelly really makes me feel cozy and special. My current favorite incense is a palo santo and sage scented one I got at my work ^u^ I totally get why these smells are associated with cleansing energies or whatever. Very soothing

Horror! Oooh boy when there's a scary thing. Oh man. I love exploring the various types of fear and unease through fictional works. I love talking to people about what kinds of horror they do and dont like. I love silly schlock horror and I love deep intricate psychological horror and I love when something is both simultaneously. I love when there are ghosts and I love when theres a big blood explosion. I got a penguin horror series edition of the Haunting of Hill House and there's a foreword by Guillermo del Toro I wanna quote real quick:

"To learn what we fear is to learn who we are. Horror defines our boundaries and illuminates our souls. In that, it is no different, or less controversial, than humor, and no less intimate than sex. Our rejection or acceptance of a particular type of horror fiction can be as rarefied or kinky as any other phobia or fetish."

Chapter 3 of you want it darker? || dark king eliot is now live! As a Queliot gift for Valentine's Day!

This chapter does still focus on Eliot's grief, and Quentin's still technically dead (but not really/permanently?). But, as dark and angsty as this story can be, there's a strong emphasis on the Queliot love story. It feels essential to me. Hopefully you’ll agree! Big 🍑❤️ to all of you today (Happy Valentine’s Day, no matter when you read this!) (Yes, today this fic finally earns its E-rating!)

Summary for Chapter 3 specifically:

Eliot sees glimpses of Quentin everywhere. Hears his voice. Feels his phantom touch.

He knows it's really Q. And that no one will believe him. Telling Margo or Julia will only make them worry more.

Meanwhile, attempts to bring Quentin back continue to fail. Will a visit with an old friend help turn things around?
