OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

Like there are so many things you can do #So many ways to murder ✨✨✨✨#Some of the best moments are times where you pull a 360 noscope on a cyan and send it tumbling through the air into the void #And doing your first slide-throw into a lizards underbelly #So risky but so rewarding #AND THIS IS ALL JUST THE BASE GAME!#The dlc is literally a mod that got so big the devs saw it and helped fund it #It adds so much to the game. Literally the mod devs asked themselves what crazy thing a slugcat could do #Coded it #And was like uhhh how does this fit into the lore #So that's how we got boomcat and Jesus Cat #I literally talked to one of the devs by chance (they're pretty active. You can just ask them stuff) and they admitted as such #It's great! gameplay first at its peak!#Anyways give the game a shot. If you want to Get Gud at a game rainworld is for you. It's a game entirely about skill #Not to mention... 400+ hours in and I'm still not done with the game #Prepare for the long haul

In the beginning, he just thinks you are really interesting, and the more time you spend together he starts to find you really attractive and then uh-oh someone’s caught feelings.

He was in so much denial at the beginning of your relationship. Once he's over that, however, be prepared to be sucker punched by random bouts of sweetness. And the fucking duality of this man. You will have whiplash from how sudden he can go from being rough and serious to sweet and silly.

Also, be prepared to be worried 90% of the time because of his job as a police officer with his damn obsession of rushing in and busting doors down.

Also, side note? Please tell him to stop stealing expensive gifts for you. Sonny can only let it slide for so long.

However, it doesn't matter if we're following Legatus lore or Archivist lore; this man has too much shit happening around him, and to him, to be worrying about relationships. But hey, that's alright! He's been sent to the past, so fuck all that! Now he can get rid of all that pent-up anger! :D

In the beginning, you'll get more of the Legatus personality. He'll come off as cold and aloof. It'll take a bit, but as long as you don't give up, you will crack through that hardened exterior. Once you're in the relationship, Archivists' personality shines. Incredibly caring and comforting. He's an old soul.

Now, the juicy stuff.

I feel that if mumbo got ill, he would deny it, going about his normal day. Could be burning up but the redstone doesn't design itself. The other two always worry for him but there's nothing they can do really.

Scar would attempt to hide it but would inevitably cave and allow himself to be taken care of. He would hide it for about half a day until he would manage to sneeze and pop a rib or something, usually leading to him needing more medical attention than if he just admitted he was ill in the first place.

And grian... The second he's ill, everyone knows. He suddenly ravages all the blankets, forming a best typically under the staircase bc cozy. Yet, if anyone attempts to help him other than cuddles, he flips. Goes from a wholesome sleepy lil dude to violent af. Mumbo learnt that the hard way, scar learnt from watching mumbo.

-✨‼️(this totally isn't bc I've been reading fics all day and have random hcs that have formed because of it)

Mumbo will, eventually, burn himself out. All Scar and Grian can do is stay nearby until he's fatigued and miserable enough to give in and let them carry him to bed. Keeping him in the bed until he's healed is a challenge, but significantly easier once he's there.

Scar always promises to tell them earlier next time, but it's hard to tell when something is serious! The difference for him between 'minor cold' and 'needs immediate medical attention' is very slim. But if he rested every single time he was ill, he'd get nothing done!

And Grian... Grian just becomes a cocoon. He rests, at least. But trying to get him to care for himself further than that is a nightmare. He just wants to wallow in his misery, and sometimes it's for the best to just let him.

From the second you’d woken up, it had become pretty obvious that it was going to be a low-energy day. Thankfully, no plans had been made for today and you could try to rest as much as possible. How this had all led you to stand in your kitchen looking down at the counter, you had no clue. However, trying to remember why the hell you’d come in here… your mind had totally blanked, thoughts clouded with static. Giving up on trying to remember, you decided to make your way back to the bedroom.

However, as you get closer to the bedroom, you can hear your boyfriend talking. Now standing outside of it, you try to recall if he had a stream to do today, but come up blank. Trying to be as quiet as possible, you push the door open and peek inside.

Almost immediately, Shu catches the movement out of the corner of his eye. “Oh hey, babe.” Turning his head towards you, he smiles and gestures for you to enter the room. “Not streaming, if you’re worried about that. We’re just playing for fun.” Amethyst eyes flicker back to the screen and a bashful giggle falls from his lips. “They all say hi.”

You can’t help the smile that tugs at your lips and you give a small wave before realizing they can’t see you. This causes Shu to laugh harder as you immediately hide your face in your hands. As the sorcerer explains what happened, you shuffle closer to him. Once you reach his side, you give his hoodie a light tug. His eyes meet yours and it’s then that he seems to realize what’s happening. With quick movements, he excuses himself for a second before muting his mic and giving you his full attention. “Blue day?” He asks, tone gentle. When you nod, he continues, “What can I do to help?”

“Can I–” you hesitate, worried that this might be too inconvenient for him, your gaze falling to the floor. A hand wrapping around yours breaks your line of thought as he gives your hand a gentle squeeze. “Um, can I sit in your lap while you play? I think your body heat would really help me right now.”

With zero hesitation, Shu moves his mic out of the way before completely turning his chair around so you have enough space to climb into his lap. And you waste no time doing so. Once you are settled, face buried against his shoulder, he shifts back around to face his computer. He pulls his mic just close enough to pick up his voice and unmutes.

As he continued to play more rounds with his friends, whenever he died or they waited for a new round to start, one of his hands always found its way back to drawing soothing circles along your back or stroking over the back of your head.

Eventually, you feel yourself drift off, and in your last conscious moment, you feel his lips press against the crown of your head. Their softness blessing you with sweet dreams.
