“Detransformation,” he muttered, then came face-to-face with his wide-eyed Kwami.  “That idiot,” Félix said, grabbing the bag of almonds from his pocket and holding it open for Duusu to take from. “Can you believe him? I bet he did it on purpose, too.” Duusu peered into the bag, taking a fat, round almond in his beak and swallowing it whole. He didn’t actually need to eat, since Félix hadn’t used his powers. But Félix supposed it didn’t hurt to indulge his Kwami. “Maybe this is good for you,” Duusu said. “Now that Ladybug knows Adrien’s identity, she can break his curse whenever she wants.”  “Yeah,” Félix said. “And then Gabriel will ship us off to London anyway, because he’ll know that she knows. Because Adrien’s curse will be gone. Which doesn’t really matter either way, because neither of us have our Amoks!” “Well,” Duusu said, plucking another almond out of the bag, “maybe with his bad luck gone, it will be easier to get them back.” “Yeah,” Félix muttered darkly. “Unless he decides to snap us out of existence. Replace us with new versions of ourselves.” Duusu blinked at him, his expression falling. He dropped the almond in his beak back into the bag, then fluttered closer, feathers soft as he nestled Félix’s cheek.  “Oh, Félix,” he crooned. “There’s never been anyone like you, and there won’t ever be again. And don’t worry! We’ll get yours and Adrien’s Amoks back. Everything will be all right, you’ll see.” Félix stroked Duusu’s soft head for a moment, then pulled away. “Yes, fine,” he grumbled, offering Duusu one more almond before sealing up the bag. “Although since Adrien’s useless now, I suppose I’ll have to do it myself.” “Maybe Ladybug will help you!” Félix snorted and reached for his locker. “Right,” he said, turning the padlock and pulling the door open. “What exactly am I supposed to tell her? Excuse me, can you hold off kissing my cousin until we get our Amoks back from Papillon? It’s that we’re under his control, you see, and he’ll only free us once we get your Miraculous.” Duusu ruffled his feathers, head tilting in consideration. “That sounds fine to me!” Taking his bag from the locker, Félix slammed it shut and replaced the lock. “Except that we’re under strict orders not to tell anyone that,” he reminded his Kwami, walking back down the row toward the door. “Especially not—” He stopped short, blood icing over as he caught sight of someone sitting on the bench in the next row over. Kagami Tsurugi turned her head to look at him, mouth slightly open, and dark eyes wide and unblinking as she held his stare.  Félix clamped his mouth shut, and swallowed.

Here’s some drawings of the first 7 kwamis from miraculous ladybug, as you can see I drew tikki and plagg together, the right side has trixx, wayzz, and pollen, and at the bottom shows nooroo and dusuu.

I think all the kwamis I drew turn out really good when I drew them on my drawing app.

I’m going to draw the rest of the twelve kwamis in the future.

Hello! I've been reading through all your posts so far and even though I am personally an ML fan and not a salter, I love media analysis and I'm sad that there isn't much of them in the fandom. There are directions in the show that I'm not satisfied with and I'm currently working on a rewrite for a future comic.

I'm curious about your ideas and takes on how you would personally rewrite ML, right now one of my issues is figuring out how the Peacock Miraculous works bcuz of sentimonsters. How would you write them?

I'm glad that you're enjoying my stuff! I label it all as salt because - as best I can tell - this fandom defines that as anything even slightly negative, but my goal is more analysis and discussion than angry ranting. Talking about what a piece of media did wrong and how you would improve it is a fantastic way to improve your own writing. It's why I got into media analysis in the first place!

Funnily enough, I do have a massive rewrite out there somewhere on AO3, so I DO have thought about how to handle sentimonsters. Or, more specifically, I've thought about how to handle the peacock. I'll give those first, then circle back to sentis.

In my humble opinion, the idea of sentimonsters should be scrapped for the following reasons, all of which existed long before the sentitheory was even on my radar:

Sentimonsters are too derivative. They feel like akuma clones and not a unique power. You can tell that the power was only created because they wanted/needed a power that would let the peacock be used at a distance the same way the butterfly is even though no other miraculous works this way.

If you want to do a slavery plot, the kwamis are right there being enslaved. You don't need to add human-looking slaves to the mix. Especially given that many of those human-looking slaves are apparently fine to kill off? Just, the ethics around the way the show does sentimonsters will always make me feel icky. Meanwhile the kwamis don't have the awkward element of being magical constructs that were made to serve. They were a free people before the miraculous. The one way I've played with using Felix is as a kwamis freedom fighter instead of a senti one.

Sentimonsters have too nebulous of a lore. In what way are they emotions brought to life? Outside of Feast, emotions don't seem to effect them at all. Nooroo's powers feel far more emotion based than Dusuu's and it bothers me.

There's also the fact that one of the show's biggest problems is character bloat. No writer alive can write a satisfying story that features a team of 36 characters! (18 humans + 18 kwamis) This is why the kwamis act as a hive mind once Marinette becomes the Guardian. You just can't write that many characters into a scene and keep their personalities straight, so they're now a single unit even though it makes Sass and Wayzz feel out of character.

Give all of that and the way the miracle box is kinda... well, it feels a little too cultural appropriation-ish for my tastes. I won't go on a full rant here, but to give two highlights: the zodiac miraculous don't seem to have a thing to do with the real Chinese zodiac and a box based on Chinese lore would NOT use a black cat for the symbol of bad luck. Black cats being bad luck is relatively modern European lore. In other words, the Chinese stuff is just there for ascetics and not actually representative of Chinese culture, so I had no moral issues scrapping the miracle box and making a much smaller version and neither should you if you're so inclined!

The thing about lore is that it only matters as much as the show makes it matter and, outside of a few key miraculous, I really do think you can change them without most readers caring because of how little the powers actually matter to the show's lore. Like they have completely scrapped the idea of making a person match their miraculous even though that was supposedly a big thing back in season two. This is extra true because it took us so long to learn all the powers in canon, so there are a lot of fics that pre-date the canon reveal and do different things.

But if you want to keep sentimonsters to be more canon accurate, I would consider all of the following as options or things to keep in mind. Feel free to use all or none of them as I'm probably never touching this plot and, if I do, it will doubtless be different from whatever you do:

Doing something to make the difference between valid and non-valid sentimonsters abundantly clear and not just "the creator decides who is valid" OR just don't make any sentimonster valid and have Emilie have used the miraculous out of a desire to help people because she didn't know it would kill her

Have Gabriel be more conflicted about the use of sentimonsters since, you know, his kid is one and Adrien, Felix, and Kagami are the only sentimonsters he dealt with for many, many years

Consider having Nathalie make one sentimonster (maybe even present it as her own child) in order to help Gabriel so it's not a slew of akuma 2.0 on the battlefield. Instead its someone at the school looking for Ladybug and Chat Noir after the villains realize that they're teenagers. (This could be a good way to use Lila and make her powers make sense)

Redo Dusuu's Force or make the tie between sentimonsters and emotions more clear. Like Felix is made from jealousy and Adrien is made from love so that's the source of their conflict

Use Felix as a third, morally neutral party who only cares about sentimonsters and have him act toward those goals like we all thought he was going to after season five. Magneto from X-men should be your template for him not whatever canon did.

Consider letting Kagami know from the start and let her know that she and Adrien are meant to be, but she's not allowed to tell him the truth or something. If you don't go that route then, at the very least, have her finding out be a big deal for her relationship with her mother.

Go all in with Adrien's commands. Gabriel wants Adrien to date Kagami? He's going to date Kagami. None of this Y-7 undo button BS. Go big or go home.

Give the sentimonsters a way to break free. That's what the power of love is supposed to be about. You could go super cheesy with this if you combined it with Adrien's source emotion being love. The literal love child using the thing that made him to overcome what he was made to be to be what he wants to be sounds very fun to me.

Consider giving the senti kids superpowers. It's honestly kinda weird how relatively normal they are. Like, sure, Felix is supposed to be super smart, but we only know that from his Wikipedia and that's about it.

I could go on, but that's a lot, so we'll stop here. Feel free to send additional asks or message me. I have many, many thoughts about how to fix canon while trying to stay true to the core ideas of the story. Or, at least, the things I consider to be the core. I legitimately enjoy the adaption process and think the fun of fanfiction is largely trying to fit alternate takes on canon into the base framework so it still appeals to fans of the source.

ML Senti-Rich Kids!AU where the sentikids conspiracy reveals they’re basically being used as body backups/organ donor jars for their respective parents (think of it as a mix of the plot twist in Kanata No Astra and that one messed up scifi movie about the girls in a orphanage that find out they’re clones of dying rich people who are using them for spare parts). The richies cult would basically use the peacock to create new bodies for the aging members to hijack or “throwaways” to replace defunct organs because even their ultra-paid for doctors wouldn’t risk experimental surgeries/treatments for them. Adrien and Felix were originally created to save their respective parent from a genetic disease that was killing them, but Emilie ended up getting attached to Adrien along the way and refused to go through with it (even with Gabriel begging), eventually stealing the peacock (and damaging it in the process) before she was forcibly put into a medical coma, while Colt “passed way” *cough*Ameliepulledhislifesupportplug*cough* before the surgery could be prepared when his condition worsened. Tomoe plans on waiting till Kagami is “the right age” to bodyjack her, and therefore is having her do all sorts of extracurriculars and training so she’ll be in top form when she takes over. Audrey was going to do similar with Chloe, but lost interest when Chloe didn’t turn out like she wanted and basically shoved her off onto Andre (who basically treats her like a pet that needs attention now and then) before then proceeding to make Zoe as a redo, only for Mr.Lee to realize what was up and immediately getting both of them the hell out of dodge the moment he could (putting Zoe in the boarding school was less an act of neglect and more him trying to make sure Audrey couldn’t get his hands on her), turning her attention on Chloe once more. The entire central story of S5 is a fourway fight between Monarch (who wants to use the peacock to create clone bodies for Emilie and Nathalie respectively and use the wish to make it so the former will never get ill ever), the cult (who wants the peacock back so they can continue making clone donors for the rich and powerful), Felix (who wants to stop both from creating people just to use and throw away and maybe get revenge), and Maribug (who is freaking the hell out about all this and just wants Dusuu and the other kwami safe)

Dead End: Paranormal Park is AWESOME, and is already being attacked by Concerned Parents... with the weirdest morals.

The first episode alone has demonic possession, ritual sacrifice, satanic chanting, and the main characters are almost killed on screen. 

Other episodes have the dog reading from what could be described as a demon spell book (And perform dark magic) more satanic possession, TWO characters get killed on  screen, there’s body horror, one character tries to gouge another’s eyes, etc. One of the main characters is a literal demon, who at one point look like she’s dragging a corpse inside the house. 

The thing they’re complaining about?

It's so bizarre how the show insist that Adrien/Marinette are the endgame ship and go out of their way with every other character shilling the pair... And then they make not one but two episodes were the universe gets destroyed when they are in a relationship (Chat Blanc and Ephemeral). And another that shows they wouldn't work well together (Desperada). And now one that heavily implies Ladybug mistake, that Hawk Moth wouldn't shut up about, was trusting Adrien with a Miraculous (He was Felix, but she didn't know).

It's like they want us to root for them, but at the same time are giving us reasons not to.

Headcanon

That each kwami has a different policy on their holder’s costumes.

-Tikki is stubborn as heck. Like, okay, it can change to look appropriate to the time period and culture, but other than that, SPOTS! Her bugs get no say, they are usually over thinkers anyway, so she makes it as simple as possible so she doesn’t have to deal with their planning and re-planning over a suit.

-Plagg is lenient. His cats can do pretty much whatever they want with their suits. Wanna wear a jacket? Sure. Heels? Go crazy! His only stipulation it that you need the ears and claws, they are non negotiable.

-Wayzz is respectful. He has a vision for the suit, but if he sees that his chosen doesn’t fit that mold entirely, he’ll change it. He’s pretty chill, as long as his chosen is green, has a shell, and fits the whole turtle vibe, what’s the harm.

-Pollen gives herself no say. She is but a humble servant for her bee. Whatever they want, they get. If she has an opinion, she won’t say it.

-Trixx is supportive. They like seeing what their chosen wants and making it come true, just a little more battle ready and a little more fox like.

-Nooroo is helpful. He usually prefers to make the suit for his holder as a gift. He isn’t able to because Gabriel is controlling him, but he’d like to.

-Dusuu is interpretive. She will bear no mind to her holder’s opinion on the suit. Instead, she’ll look to her holder’s key emotions, what they usually feel and why. Based on that, she’ll form a suit.
