Many nights have passed since that incident happened. That night where he unintentionally upset Lilia by breaking his phone out of—goodness, he can’t even bring himself to say it—blatant jealousy. Now that he thinks back to it, it is rather foolish. He knew how deeply Lilia valued that electronic device, too.

But, he’s not entirely at fault, now is he? He is a dorm leader as well, he should be in that photo Kalim took. Well, yes, he did not attend that day—or any other meetings, really—but it wasn’t his intention to appear frivolous and skip important discussions, he is not like Kingscholar. He was just never notified.

Seeing everyone in a group photo without you, where you should belong in as well, doesn’t set a good feeling in one’s chest. He may not consider them as particularly close individuals, but it still inflict some sort of pain and insult to his pride.

He doesn’t wish to be seen as one of their own, because he simply isn’t but oh, when will he finally be included and not forgotten? Worse, remembered but not worth the effort to include in?

Hm? His phone’s screen brightened. The…notif, as Lilia called it, in this device is quite loud and unpleasant to the ears. He ought to ask for Lilia’s help in changing it some time soon. Is he finally getting notified for a meeting? Malleus hope it’s easily accessible unlike last time which caused him to wait a total of three hours in different locations all for no one to show up.

Malleus sighs, It is not regarding the meeting. Were they perhaps serious about not inviting him to any more dorm meetings? However, this confusion was quickly brushed away to the back of his mind. Replaced by a light and pleasant feeling when he sees your name, accompanied by some numbers, which he recognised as your birthdate.

Magi…cam. The bolded letters show. This must be from the Magicam app. That’s right, his child of man assisted him in making one. Actually, he think he was forced, but he doesn’t complain. Nothing really came from the app after so he forgot its existence for quite a while. It is so complicated to navigate, too.

This formatting looks…rather familiar than the one he saw on Lilia’s phone that day. The only thing that has changed was the bracketed name and the name behind a symbol that resembles the letter ‘a’ rather strangely.

“Could this be…?” Malleus hums, eyes widening in anticipation and tapping the bar, brows raising when a number pad appeared instead. Magicam doesn’t look like this, from what he recalled. Just then he remembers Lilia’s words.

“Place a password for your privacy! Just four numbers is enough. Most humans put something memorable, like their birthday! But Malleus you can put whatever.”

The device was unlocked and Malleus successfully opened the Magicam app. His lips parted in surprise, then quirked in amuse. What greeted him back was a picture of the two of you. Himself and his child of man. Yes, he does remember taking some pictures with you just a few days ago.

The caption—he hope he got it correct—was ‘photo dump with ﹫m.draconia <3’ he does not know what ‘less than three’ is to resemble or if it has anything to do with your apparent photo dump. The pictures you put are more than three. He’ll have to ask Lilia later, or maybe he could utilise this opportunity to approach you?

Still, Malleus was ecstatic. He was finally mentioned in a good light for the first time throughout his three years in Night Raven College by someone other than his retainers. His chest feels tight with excitement.

Heres my rant about Amethio age discussion and why I think the age range excuse is stupid. I should probably keep this out of the main tag, but I'm tired, sick, and angry, so idc.

Big really angry rant under the line.

So please can anyone explain to me why everyone thought that VAs comment about Amethio being a teen means hes between 13-19 and also 100% CAN be a 19 years old?

Cause English says that a teen is between 13 and 19? Well we all know that English has a lot of stupid stuff in it, so doesnt really count. Plus, quick reminder, this is anime. Japan. The meaning behind teenager could be very different here.

The difference between 13 and 19 years old is so contrast that giving Amethio this range in the first place is moronic. A 13 years old still needs to ask their daddy to go out with their friends. 19 years old already expected to pay taxes, move out of the house, is probably already on a antidepressants.

And the thing is, Amethio doesnt even act like a 19 years old! He acts like a 14 years old emo that tries his very best to look serious and is desperate for attention.

The whole his beef with Friede is a big ass example of this, that Anime just shoves into your face! Amethio becames irrated immediately after Friede stops giving attention to him, everything in his actions screams "Take me seriously!" He wants to be seen as a professional serious trainer by someone who has authority [ Friede ] and is hurt when it doesnt happen. Its literally how neglected children act.

Also the whole excuse with "B-but hes working with Explorers and has his own subordinates that he commands" GUESS WHO ALSO A MINOR BUT IS A BOSS OF A SHIP? ZUKO. The literal icon of redemption arcs. He also was casted away in the age of 13 and had a whole small army under his command. Does that make him an adult? NO. Both Amethio and Zuko are clearly special, thats why they both are forced into a weapon by their respective parential abusers [ Ozai / Gibeon ], and given some special privileges to make it seem that thse abusers love them, when in fact they are just using them.

He doesnt look like a 19 years old either! His body type barely resembles one of Friede or Spinel, both being a clear cut adults. And before someone says "Well I think that Friede looks 20 and that Amethio is just a really twigy guy" no hes bloody not! Reminder, this is pokemon, we have Lusamine and Cyrus that look like 20 and 40, but actually the opposite. And the thing is, Amethio closely resembles Silver with his body! Whos, yk, A CANONICAL 13 YEARS OLD.

What is more hysterical to me is when the Interviews AND Anime itself start to make parallels between Amethio and the kid Trio, whos, yk, OBVIOUSLY KIDS. Like- in both interviews before the big arcs the boy was compared to Liko & Roy [ And Dot, by extension. ] Amethio was literally called a kid alongside the kid Trio, [ One of the kids that still havent found their dream ] which not only makes him a minor, but also puts him the same age group with Liko, Roy and Dot!

And Anime situation is even more comedic. Khem khem. Literally an episode that got out not so long ago, 44. Amethio is called a spoiled brat by Sango [ Which already makes him a kid, but alas ]. Guess who was also called a spoiled kid? LIKO. BY MOLLIE IN THE ABROLIVA EPISODE. Liko, whos canonically we seen as a child child in the episode 18, was called the same thing as Amethio. I get that Anime tries to make parallels between them in general, but that doesnt matter to me now. The most important thing is - they are both viewed as a kids. Yk. MINORS.

Ending this, I'll say - Amethio is a barely 14, maybe at maximum 15, and he is sure is not a 19 years old. I'm sure hes in the same age bracket as Liko, Roy and Dot.

Also AmeFriede is the worst ship that deserves its own place in hell, alongside AmeSpinel. I hate both of these. They are bad from all perspectives.

He’s a Japanese teenager with messy black hair and glasses. He literally only wears his school uniform or grayscale. I’ve never seen an MC look so much like I could’ve put his model at another desk in the background and noticed nothing.

Fairly normal high school kid who happens to get caught up in the fate of humanity and stuff. He did get in a minor altercation with a fascist politician before the game starts, which kicks off the entire plot. 

When he’s a high school student he just looks like. a fucking guy. I’ll be honest I haven’t played persona I’m just in love with him so if any actual persona fans find this bracket and submit him I bet they’ll have something better lmao - smashy bros fan

messy black hair with bangs. designed to appear basic and unassuming, especially when he is in school and doing other normal high schooler activities (rather than when he’s in the meta verse as Joker). wears fake glasses to seem even more generic and unassuming

He's got messy brown hair and is the only character of the main cast of teens to wear his uniform in the most proper and normal way. He is just A Guy. That's his whole thing, is to look generic and to not stand out.

His whole schtick is hiding in plain sight and never letting anyone see his true self. He was traumatized by the Japanese legal system when he put himself out there to save a woman from assault, and so now he does everything he can to blend in. He doesn’t even need glasses; he wears them to be more generic and unassuming. He slouches for the same reason, to minimize his height and come off as another disaffected teenager.

his generic anime guy-ness actually matters to the plot. he was falsely accused of assaulting someone and has been branded a dangerous criminal, so he tries to make himself as unnoticeable/unassuming/generic as he can, hiding his true self in order to avoid further trouble from people that already assume the worst of him. it is a shackle society placed on him, and working in the meta verse as joker allows him to be his true self 

he is sooo special to me and very pretty. it's a good generic design that doesn't just look like an npc. extremely ordinary but not boring nor bland. cutie pie.

Welcome to the Traffic SMP/Life Series Divorce Competition where we take 16 of our most beloved divorced groups from all the Life series and shove them into a bracket to see who is the most divorced of them all!

Rules:

The final bracket will consist of 16 groups (though admittedly 6 of them have already been chosen, more on that later)

Your submission must be from the Traffic SMP (Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, and Limited Life)

No, they don’t have to be actually divorced; they can just have the energy that they’re divorced.

A divorced group submission can have more than two people but there’s a cap of five people in a single group submission.

I’m in D&D group on discord that is mostly free to the public to apply to join a session that’s starting at the end of the summer. The session hasn’t started yet but people who want to apply can join and start roleplaying anyway. To preface this, I’m giving everyone fake names and this happened relatively recently. There was a channel for text roleplay and people could make their own threads. There is one person, James, who had admitted to being a minor, around thirteen from what their texting style implies, and they were role playing with Adam, who I believe is over 18. Adam started coming into James’ character, who was a minor as well. Keep in mind this is a public chat. Now this person, Jesse, started talking in the chat in brackets, and said “Not Adams’ character not realizing that James’ character is jailbait XD”. This situation is very obviously horrible and what makes it worse is that James’s character was actively fighting against Adam’s character. I said something in the discussion chat in the server about this situation, and said this is incredibly uncomfortable to watch, and Jesse said that what happened was wrong, but to “not be the bait” for creepy people and basically saying to not play under 18 characters. And afterwards when the discussion died down, Jesse said “Now let’s refrain from using public humiliation in the future.” Which I felt was very obviously a dig at me. Now, fast forward to yesterday, where James was being unintentionally mean to someone in the images chat where they posted their selfie. My friend Liam told them that it was incredibly bad manners to say something like that and to use tone indicators in the future if possible (many people in the server use tone indicators). All of a sudden Jesse chimed in and started arguing with Liam about how tone indicators are not needed and “you want a tone indicator? Use proper grammar and syntax.” And how “Language was actually built around *communication*, believe it or not.” (Paraphrasing that last part). And at this part I’ve had enough. I said “hey man you are literally arguing in a roleplay discord server over grammar this is a stupid hill to die on” and he basically said “I die on every hill” and continued to argue, with this high and mighty tone, using sarcasm and very obviously (to me and a few others I’ve talked to) talking down to me. I left it off and said: “dude this is incredibly stupid argument. You’re dying on a hill about grammar in a roleplay discord server.”. I brought this all up to the moderator, who has publicly said to contact them if you have a problem with someone, and nothing has been done yet. To top it all off, Jesse messaged Liam after the moderator contacted me, telling him “if you want to talk about something let’s talk like proper adults without getting others involved.”. AITA?

Stats Part 3

Now that Round 3 is over, we're down to 32 (well, 33) remaining artworks which feels about time to check in on how our statistics are doing!

And if you're not interested in statistics, I (Mod Salix) wanted to talk about the polls. You may have noticed that I've been trying to keep to 4 polls a day, which would mean that Round 4 is only going to be 4 days, and Round 5 would post everything in two days. Starting in Round 6, we'll probably re-institute week long polls. Hopefully none of us will lose track of what day to post the next round!

We have 20 artworks by male artists, 10 by female artists, and 4 by groups or unknowable entities! And of those, one person is Black, two are Aboriginal (one of whom is Mestizo and Kichwa, the other of whom is Aboriginal Australian), one is Asian-American (and two are Chinese living in China as opposed to living somewhere they're a minority), and one is Indian-British. And also three are left from gay men about the AIDS crisis, in addition to the AIDS memorial quilt, and one lesbian comic.

There are six American artists (including the Asian-American mentioned above), and three Chinese artists (including the Asian-American mentioned above), as well as three Russians (including Ilya Repin, who was born in the future Ukraine and lived near St. Petersburg), technically two different pieces by the same Dutch artist (hi van Gogh), and one each from Argentina, Serbia, Ecuador, Colombia, Canada, Italy, Northern Ireland, Poland, Australia, Finland, Germany, France, and Britain. And one artist I have listed as Denmark/Germany/France, because August Friedrich Schenck was born in a place that was Denmark at the time, Germany now, and worked mostly in France.

Of the pieces with known locations, eight are in the United States (four specifically in New York), two each in Australia and Russia, and one each in Argentina, Finland, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and one in a private collection.

There are two archaic pieces of art, Judith is our last standing piece from anything between archaic and 1843, 8 pieces of art from the 1800s, although five are from 1878 to 1896, one from 1903, two from the 70s or 80s, 5 from the 90s, four from the 00s, four from the span of 2014 to 2016, and three from the last two years. And two unknown dates and the AIDS memorial quilt which is still being added to.

There are 15 paintings, 7 installation arts, one comic, one photograph, one cave art, one sketch, one tattoo, and one fiber art slash installation. And the most common subject of the art are five queer related art pieces, although I have four each I summed up as either horror or grief/anguish.

And, lastly, someone sent in an ask in like Round 1 asking about statistics regarding whether being in first or second place in the poll biased anything. I'm not actually a statistician, so I can't answer that question, but I did compile the numbers of how many first-positioned vs second-positioned arts won! Surprisingly, Round 1 had 64 firsts to 63 seconds (and one tie), Round 2 had 29 to 35, and Round 3 had 15 to 17. Technically speaking that's not a large enough sample size to determine bias but it's... interesting?.

I was going to make a scatterplot featuring the number of votes in each poll to track engagement, but I haven't actually figured out how to do one in Google Sheets yet so maybe at the end of the bracket.

Taehyun rolled his eyes as he watched his bestfriend practically glare down the class president currently talking to their teacher about today activities. The bell was close to ringing for lunch.

"come on man she's not even paying attention to you. for someone who claims to hate her so much you sure do spend a lot of your time admiring her." Taehyun stated smugly earning a laugh from Kai who was on his side drumming on his desk with his drumsticks.

"i'm not admiring her. i'm praying she goes mute. i swear she never stops talking." Beomgyu huffed crossing his arms and turning towards his friends.

"i don't know gyu she's actually really nice." Kai shrugged looking at the girl. She wore a pair of dark skinny jeans and checkered vans. Her dark brown hair tied into a bun showing off her gold and pearl earrings. finally a white face mask covering the bottom of her face. She was very health conscious.

"by definition that is not true." taehyun commented and beomgyu only groaned.

"whatever i don't want to talk about her anymore. let's talk about the track list for tonight's show."

"i can't believe they cut our set in half for open mic." Kai sighed disappointed but their conversation was cut short but the lunch bell ringing.

the three boys stood slinging the bags over their shoulders to leave and meet up with their hyungs almost out the door when a soft voice spoke up.

"Beomgyu!"

said boy froze and rolled his eyes holding his annoyed groan in.

"Yes class pres." he said with a sarcastic smile. If she caught it she definitely didn't have any reaction to it as her eyes creased from a smile.

"a song request! for toxdo tomorrow!" she said handing him a pink sticky note that was folded in a small heart.

"Cool thanks." he said taking it from her and she hummed before moving to her desk to eat lunch. Alone, as usual.

beomgyu shook his head and stifled a laugh before tossing the pink heart into the trash can and walking out the class.

"harsh much." Taehyun said to the long haired boy and beomgyu shrugged.

The five boys stood at their table in the corner of the small 18 and over club, the table was reserved for them since they were regular performers.

"So does anyone know any of any of the people playing tonight?" Yeonjun asked looking at his bandmates and they all shrugged all extremely drained from the bands that have previously played. Their was only one left.

The Love Abusers

"okay everyone today we have a girl group of three here to perform for the first time in front of a crowd! give it up to The Love Abusers!" The girl on stage spoke before rushing off and three girls walked onto the stage. One of drums, one on bass, and one at the guitar and mic.

they all wore black leather ankle boots except the singer she wore a pair of beat up converse ripped tights and a large distressed sex pistols shirt. Her arms littered in brackets and her dark messy hair cover a lot of her face since her bangs seemed to be overgrown. Her bandmates hand their hair slicked back and they wore sheer shirts and wine red bras underneath with black ripped skinny jeans.

"how's everyone night going so far?" the girl spoke into the mic her voice was smooth a low almost quiet to where the mic couldn't pick it up.

Beomgyu quirked an eyebrow at this. As the crowd answered to her voice extremely enthusiastic. This earned a chuckle from her and taehyun sucked air through his teeth at the sound.

"I wrote this song last night. I've been getting a bit tired of people expecting me to reach their standards... i'm sure you'll understand right guys." she spoke strummed her guitar gently.

she started her riff on her guitar as her bandmates clapped their hands gently behind her.

"this is Bad Day."

"i had a no good, really bad. messed up day and i'm stressed out super sad not okay. i'm never gettin better no it's not a phase."

The boys mouths dropped and the revelation of the bands talent and how quickly they got the audiences attention. Beomgyu seemingly in a trance at the lead singers way of delivering their lyrics and change of pace through out the song.

His eyes glancing down to her hands strumming her guitar as she completely took all his attention. Soobin looked at the younger and chuckled tapping their friends too look at the sight of their guitarist.

"i mean he always did say a girl who can play guitar better than him is hot." Taehyun teased earning a small laugh.

"shut up dude." beomgyu grumbled.

"and i like it that way." The girl finished. "thank you guys, you were great." she spoke warning a course of claps and cheers from the crowd as her and her bandmates left the stage.

"Wow! what an entrance! that was love abusers performing their original song Bad Days they'll be back on thursday if your interested in watching another set." The announcer spoke.

"Next up, a Crowd Favorite! TXT! welcome back to our favorite boys!"

Must be a character Tolkien wrote (no adaptation-only characters)

Must be female

Must be named (I’ve made one exception)

In general I’ve tried to pick characters where we have something more than a name on a family tree, but there are a few of those by request

Matchups!

It’s set up so that similar characters (same family/era/species) are grouped together, at least mostly - Noldor, Sindar, Valar, Maiar, First Age Edain, Númenoreans, Third Age women of Gondor, women of Rohan, hobbits, etc. - so that the most popular members of different groups will end up going against each other. (EDIT: Bracket changed so that all Valar, Maiar, Umaia, etc are in the same segment. Minor edits made to group Númenorean and Gondorian characters.)

Often, characters are matched against ones with similar levels of notability, so it’s not just the most well-known ones steamrolling the bracket; I just find it more interesting.

I haven’t yet decided whether the semifinals will be three-way contests between the characters from each side of the bracket, or the characters from opposite sides going up against each other. Might depend on which matchups look the most interesting after the quarterfinals.

Not only is this song, like, objectively really really good, but it's been absolutely put through the ringer in terms of fan creations.

There's a video online somewhere of a whole group of people singing it alongside the person who made it (i think its just audio which makes it hit harder tbh) and it fucks me up so bad actually. like its a whole community of people rejoicing and in its own sense that's beautiful but the fact that its this song of all things is so depressing yet unifying at the same time it gives me so many emotions

Introduction/Rules Post

Hello, Gt community! Welcome to the Sizey Oc Smackdown! This is a bracket-style tournament featuring the lovely OCs of our community!

Before we get to the smackdown rules, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Pop but I am open to any number of nicknames. I use she/her pronouns. I am a MINOR, people being creepy will be blocked. My main blog is @poprockpanda but all smackdown-related things should be sent to this blog.

Onto the rules of the tournament.

(1) The characters must be OCs, aus of characters from existing media are not allowed in.

(2) The creator must be on Tumblr and must consent to their characters being in the poll. I will contact all creators before the poll to make sure but if they change their mind I will remove their oc, no questions asked.

(3) In the event of an OC being pulled after the smackdown begins, I will choose the next submission in chronological order and they will fight the previous opponents of the OC that was pulled. If the new oc loses to a previous opponent, they will take the new OC's place. (Example cus it might be confusing: OC 1 gets pulled from the poll 3 rounds in and OC 2 replaces them. They lose again to OC 1's round one opponent, OC 3. OC 3 will take OC 2's place and battle OC 1's previous opponents and those that OC 2 would have faced if they had moved on.)

(4) OCs must be sfw, OCs will nsfw content will be disqualified.

(5) I reserve the right to deny entry to an OC for any reason.

(6) Propaganda is allowed and encouraged but harassment is not. Death threats will result in an instant block, even if joking.

(7) Please don't bot the polls, if I find out about significant botting on one side they will be disqualified. If there is evidence of it on both sides they will both be disqualified.

(8) If you have concerns about a creator feel free to send me an ask but you have to have evidence. If an ask doesn't have evidence, it will be deleted.

You can submit as many submissions as you would like but please only make 1 submission per creator. You can submit more than one OC from a creator if they can be considered a duo or group.

There will be 32 slots and they will be first come first serve. I will be checking up on the amount of submissions so I will close the form when we have around 40 submissions to allow for OCs getting pulled or disqualified. If we have more pulled than that I will substitute some of my own ocs.

Speaking of my own ocs, my ocs Beatrix and Amanda will be automatically included because nepotism.

The 10 Types of Guy that Adolin Embodies

[Spoilers for Stormlight Archive!]

All terms in what follows--and the term “guy” in the title--are gender-neutral!

1. Horse Girl

Adolin loves horses. He had a special bond with his Ryshadium Sureblood, and after that horse’s death, he started spending time with his father’s, Gallant. He likes to feed them treats and brush them and talk to them. A horse girl for sure.

2. Himbo

Himbos must be beefy, kind, and dumb. Adolin is certainly beefy and certainly kind. He’s not always dumb, but he certainly has his moments...I’m thinking of how he once took a date to the stables as part of his investigation or when he (badly) pretended to know what Kaladin’s power was in a (bad) attempt to get Kaladin to confess. Even throwing himself in prison--but still bathing and wearing cologne and chatting to his girlfriend the whole time--has himbo vibes.

3. Fashion Icon

Adolin knows fashion and cares about fashion. He reads fashion magazines. He makes himself an outfit even using what he can scavenge in Shadesmar. He now accessorizes his uniforms since he follows the Codes more loosely. He is a fashion icon.

4. Ladies Man

Early Adolin dated a lot of ladies. He found it very easy to flirt and and to find dates, although he often had trouble keeping girlfriends...in part due to his wandering eyes. He’s now happily married, but “ladies man” was once a term that could be used to describe Adolin.

5. Bisexual Disaster

But being a fashion icon and a ladies man does not mean that Adolin is always smooth. To me, the height of bisexual diaster-ism is seeing a hot guy and thinking about what a catch he is...and then telling your girlfriend that she should date him instead. Luckily, Shallan is also a bisexual disaster, so they can enjoy fun dates talking about how you poop in Shardplate.

6. Smooth Criminal

Okay, but there is one way in which Adolin was rather smooth. At least, he did manage to not only murder a highlord, but also get away with it and even get put in charge of the investigation. On the inside, Adolin was not being smooth about any of this, but on the outside, he sure seemed to be!

7. Mom Friend

I am thinking in particular about when Kaladin, Shallan, and Adolin accidentally fell into Shadesmar. Adolin fears that he is useless in such a place, but what he actually does is take on the role of the group carer: he talks Kaladin through the journey since Kaladin is nearly comatose from despair, makes sure they make camp, and generally tries to keep the group positive and moving. I’m sure he would have been distributing snacks had he had the ability.

8. Jock

I mean, this one feels fairly self-explanatory. Adolin’s Calling is Dueling, which is kind of like a semiprofessional sport: they have brackets and everything. He likes to work out and be strong, and just generally has some big jock energy.

9. Theatre Kid

But Adolin also has a flair for the dramatic. We see this most of all during the series of duels during which he is trying to disarm the other highlords: he plays each one differently, going full brutal in one duel while slowly chipping away at the armor through light touches in the next one. He’s doing it for the show.

10. Trophy Husband

Originally, Shallan was just a woman from a minor house engaged to a highprince. Then it turned out that she was one of the original Radiants, and Adolin was just some guy. So if anything, Adolin is more the trophy spouse at this point. I think he’s okay with it.

This lesbian is filled with so much trauma and horrors but she’s also just a silly little lady who likes melonpan and probably feeds stray cats she sees. She’s got a cat who can turn into a lance as a sword fighting instructor and several little beasties as buddies. Also she wants to eat lava because it’s “forbidden soup” much to the horror of literally everyone.

I couldn’t think of anything else to put here but she’s a resident blorbo in one friend group we all love her a lot :)
