Reunited and Reignited: Chapter 2

Wilbur was awoken as gentle sunlight shone on his face. He moved to sit up but a small whine reminded him of the kid peacefully sleeping on his chest. He smiled as he saw how deep they were sleeping. Probably their first good sleep in a while. Wilbur thought as he lightly nudged the kid, causing them to sleepily sit up from the comfy nest they had made out of Wilbur’s shirt.

“Good morning kid, we made it.” Small eyes stared at him for a moment before they leaned back against his chest with a sigh. He let out a little chuckle at the kid’s obvious annoyance at being woken up. “I know, I know, but we’ve got people to see. I’ll have Phil make you a place to sleep when we get there.”

Wilbur readjusted his hand to make sure the kid was secure as he sat up in the chair. He felt them lightly grab his shirt as he stood up. Double-checking that the kid was okay, he headed to the supplies stored in the back of the ship. Setting them down on a metal crate, he opened up the overhead cabinets and started rummaging around for anything useful.

He opened up a snack-sized box of Starrios and fished out a small handful. “Here you go, a little snack until we can get you some famous Technoblade potatoes,” he said as he set the Starrios on the crate next to the kid. He went back to rummaging but managed to see the kid happily munching on the Starrios out of the corner of his eye.

He grabbed a messenger bag out of the far corner of the cabinet. He put a few travel-sized cereal packs and a small first-aid kit in the bag. He looked in the other various storage containers but he found nothing else of value.

The kid had finished their snack a while ago and now they were silently observing him. Wilbur took one last look around the small ship before slowly crouching now beside the metal crate. The kid stood up and looked at him inquisitively. “It’s time to head out, kid,” Wilbur said as he put his hand on the crate for the kid to get on.

It seemed that he had proven himself enough to them as the hesitance from the day before didn’t show itself as the kid hopped onto his scaly hand. He cupped his hand slightly before gently depositing them onto his shoulder. He pulled down the collar of his jacket and waited until he felt the kid grab it from him. A smile spread across his face as he felt them snuggle up to his neck.

He stood up and headed to the ship’s door. He pushed the keypad to the side of the door and embraced the gentle breeze that rushed into the ship. He took a moment to observe the surroundings before confirming his suspicions. The autopilot had landed them in the clearing by the fuma berry patch. Luckily for them, the patch wasn’t more than an hour’s walk away from his home.

He stopped himself from spending too much time reminiscing over the various fond memories that were connected to this berry patch. He began walking on the familiar path toward his beloved home.

Even though he couldn’t understand the snake-like alien’s words their actions said enough for Tommy. They never grabbed him, they gave him those tasty star things, and they were even letting him ride on their shoulder instead of in the bag! They were a definite improvement from the last aliens he had met and were way nicer than them.

He took in all the new sights and sounds that surrounded them as the alien continued to make slow but steady strides, almost as if they were trying to make the trip as smooth as possible.

The gentle rhythm of the steps left him to wander off into his thoughts, finally able to let his guard down after months of staying alert.

As the crystal clear lake came into view Wilbur’s heart began to pound in excitement. They were almost there. One last turn and we’ll…….be home again. He stopped himself from running, he didn’t want to jumble the kid around.

He turned the corner and suddenly he was face to face with his home.

It’s real. I’m really home.

He almost fell to his knees but managed to correct himself as he walked to the wooden door that was connected to a wall they had built against the opening of the cave they called home. He let out a deep sigh before knocking their secret knock. 3…2…3…1.

The world fell eerily silent as he waited for any kind of response.

The door whipped open and he felt the sharp tip of a spear pushed against his thick scales before he had any chance of reacting.

He was met with Techno’s hardened eyes, filled with deep rage. They both stood in silence for less than a second before Wilbur saw Techno’s expression of hate drop and his spear clattered onto the ground. His dark eyes filled with tears as he whispered.

“Wilbur?”

Suddenly they both snapped their heads to the sound of yelling from inside the cave. “Wilbur!” Phil yelled as he came barreling out the door past Techno, followed by Tubbo and Ranboo. The avian bolted toward Wilbur’s face, stopping himself right before he ran into his face. He analyzed it, looking for any hint that this might be another dream. He finally reached out to touch his face.

He was met with his son’s scaly skin, as cold to the touch as he remembered.

Phil lost focus on keeping himself in the air and he started to fall. Techno caught the avian and brought him to perch on his shoulder.

Techno stepped back into the cave, gesturing that Wilbur should come inside. Wilbur took a moment to mentally compose himself before he walked inside. Phil hopped down onto the counter, where a pile of uncut vegetables lay, as Techno gathered chairs.

Wilbur felt a tug at his collar as he suddenly remembered the kid on his shoulder. He gently scooped them into his hands and brought them to his eyes. He looked them over for any injuries. Luckily they seemed unharmed though quite startled. Ugh, why didn’t I think about them getting scared? It must be a lot for them to be surrounded by so many people, especially with Techno and his spear.

“I’m sorry kid, I didn’t think at all,” Wilbur said as he gave them an apologetic look. He cupped his hands and moved himself over to a wall to let them calm down.

“Who are you talking to, Bossman?” Tubbo asked, confused at the snake hybrid seemingly talking to himself.

Wilbur snapped his head to Tubbo. “Ummm, give me a second Tubbo,” he turned back to the kid, they were breathing deeply as they tried to calm themselves down. “It’s all good, kid. It’s time to meet everyone, I won’t leave you on your own, I promise.”

Even though Wilbur knew they couldn’t understand him he could have sworn they were calmed by his voice. They stabilized themselves against his fingers as they stood up and gave him a look that said they were ready.

Wilbur turned back to the rest of the group, everyone’s eyes on him, as he started to speak. “So…. I kinda brought someone else home with me. Everybody say hi,” he uncupped his hands slowly and let his fingers lay flat out. Various gasps sounded across the room until Phil spoke up.

“Bring them over here, let me take a look at them,” Phil said as he gestured next to himself. Wilbur walked over to the counter, making sure to keep his hands steady. He laid his hand on the counter, waiting for the kid to get off.

They hopped off his hands and stood facing Phil. Wilbur crouched by the counter to let the kid know that he was there for them.

Tommy was thankful that the snake alien stayed with him as the bird humanoid looked him over with concern. They gasped and looked at the snake alien, seemingly asking them a question about him.

They looked back at him and he could have sworn he saw them start to tear up as they walked toward him. He tensed up as the alien that was about twice his height approached but he didn’t run. He trusted that the snake wouldn’t let something happen to him, not after they rescued him.

Before he even realized it they had kneeled down and they were….hugging him. It was the first contact he had with someone even close to his size since he was taken. Their embrace was warm and he felt himself melt in their arms. Tears started to rise as they held him.

After what felt like an eternity the one with wings like a bee’s and antenna spoke up. The bird alien pulled away to look at them as they pointed at the snake’s bright orange tag and asked something with a questioning tone. The bird held Tommy’s hand for a moment before they walked to the edge and flew up to the bee hybrid’s shoulder. Tommy wanted them to come back but he stopped himself from reaching out.

He turned to the conversation as he saw the bee hybrid pulling what seemed like a toolbox out of a cupboard. They walked over to the snake with the box in their hands and pulled out a tool that looked similar to a screwdriver. They quickly examined the tag before starting to take it apart.

He stared fascinated as the bee hybrid worked until the tag unclamped with a snap and fell to the stone floor. The bee hybrid took it off the floor and placed it in their toolbox. The snake looked in awe for a moment before gesturing to Tommy. The bee alien looked at him and set down their handful of tools in favor of much smaller versions. As they walked over to him he didn’t feel as afraid. Despite them towering over him they had a young face like his and looked about his age.

They knelt in front of him and they had a warm smile on their face as they waited for him to offer his arm. He stuck out the arm with the tag for them and they gently held it between their thumb and index finger.

Even though they were a good bit smaller than the snake hybrid his hand was no bigger than the tip of their finger. His heart started to race as he was once again reminded of how easily they could hurt him. His mind started to fill with horrible thoughts until he heard a snap and felt an emptiness on his wrist.

The bee hybrid stood up and went back to their toolbox as Tommy stared at his wrist. The tag had left an angry red ring on his wrist, the only sign that it had ever been there. He glared at the orange eyesore that lay on the counter as a wave of rebellion overtook him. He raised his foot and smashed the tag with a stomp. He felt like a weight was lifted from his chest.

He was finally truly free.

Tommy settled into the small bedspread that was laid out for him as he thought about the day’s events.

So much had happened in only two days that it was almost hard to imagine.

He felt so different from how he did then.

He felt like he was….home.

Maybe things are gonna be okay.

They all turned into g/t or somewhat g/t bullet-point plots haha. Still tried to do summaries since that's usual for these tho

Take me deeper than I've ever known

Ranboo doesn't know what happened to him, just that one day he was tall enough to do all the stuff humans do, then the next day so small that a mouse could probably fistfight him and win. The even crazier thing is that he meets someone just as small, who apparently has been the one taking snacks from his stash, and not a ghost. Great, one question solved and a thousand more left unanswered. At least while they're stuck like this they won't have to be alone, Tommy may be strange but he isn't all that bad, besides the fact he'd probably ditch Ranboo if they revealed they're human. But while it lasts, he doesn't mind seeing more of Tommy's world.

magic, tiny fairy or fae, hmm

Ranboo gets shrunk and found by a tiny Tommy who decides 'gosh you suck at survival, i'll help you'

Tommy acts like he doesn't know Ranboo was shrunk, but he does

like 'don't interact with bigs, but they're not big anymore so…'

Ranboo doesn't know this but learns interacting with humans is a no-no so keeps their shrinking a secret

Ranboo learns more than they thought about the world at a smaller size

and they do want to be normal height again, someday (…maybe), but his life with Tommy is something they start to cherish, and the tiny really loves having them around

the twist is that Tommy is a fae of sorts that shrunk Ranboo, bc they were interesting and alone and and it seemed like something fun to do, but then feelings and friendship happened

Ranboo will have to find out eventually..

fae shenanigans and morals

What do you do when your reason for existing is to comfort and make smiles bloom, but you're built of dead things brought back, nightmarish and far too tall? For Ranboo, the answer is to enjoy what he can. Tubbo certainly makes this strange second-first life worth being a monster, at least.

second idea version:

Tubbo might not be real, full of stuffing and magic, but Tommy wants a friend, a best friend, and maybe Tubbo wants that too. So if Tommy thinks he's real enough to be that friend, despite how much smaller he is and inability to go places with Tommy without acting like a normal doll, then Tubbo is happy. Tommy may have done some questionable magic because he was lonely and desperate, but Tubbo is amazing, so he doesn't regret it. If only others could see it the same way.

Angst angst angst?

ended up with two ideas oops:

Ranboo is a minigiant frankenstein's monster kinda creature (created by Tubbo because Dude Is So Alone He Reanimated A Corpse For Company)

OR Tubbo is a life-like doll brought to life to be a friend (clingyduo and magic)

whichever idea, they have existential issues and put their worth into how useful they can be

both want to be able to go out into the world but don't, because they know if they're seen they'd terrify or unsettle people

Ranboo idea: sad times, fluff times, and sneaky outings with Tubbo

maybe at some point Ranboo's thoughts that he's a monster get real bad and he's convinced he'll hurt Tubbo and runs away to some woods

so then Tubbo has to go find him and bring him back before other people find him and think he's some monster come to terrorize them

who knows maybe Ranboo will even make some friends in a surprising twist?

Tubbo idea: lots of 'im not real' thoughts but also sweet friendship times

possible interference from other people coming back into Tommy's life since the magic to make Tubbo may or may not have been illegal

insisting that Tubbo isn't a real friend and this isn't healthy

Tubbo would normally agree, but seeing how much it hurts and upsets Tommy he might have some Choice Words instead

do these stories have happy endings? I wanna say yes, things work out, issues are eventually addressed, and there is lots of holding small friend in arms throughout.

Never Ever

The lives of borrowers are far from easy, even if they have family, but that doesn't mean it's terrible or always dangerous. A skilled or very sheltered borrower especially has very few worries, to the point that the universal rules of borrowers can be disregarded. But there are times when borrowers are reminded of why these rules are important, so that the worst never, ever happens.

after much thought, a 5+1 story

like '5 things a borrower should never ever forget and 1 thing they do' or something along those lines

5 are angst or close calls, etc. and 1 is good times, fluff

maybe tiny bedrock bros?

or five borrowers, one chapter each, with a borrower problem or angst, and the +1 is something nice with them all together

could be sbi+tubbo in that case

kinda slice-of-life regardless

+1 could also be angst instead of fluff, like they get caught, leaving story with an open end lol

A Race to one's demise

Slaying a giant is no easy task, especially one as infamous as The Lady Death—giants are already enough trouble without magic, thanks. Yet a few people head out for her territory anyway, not from any real drive to kill giants, simply because it was the only option given that lets them live a little longer. Their odds still aren't good, but really how much worse could a giant be from what they came from? (... No, yeah, probably worse.) Kristin and Phil find some truly exhausted kids on their doorstep and decide to invite them in, which they surprisingly agree to. The hard part is getting them to stop the halfhearted murder attempts and open up.

they know they're going to die. will they actually? nah

a handful of people are chosen for what's seen as a suicide mission

(probably benchtrio + wilbur and techno for these guys)

the mission/quest is to steal a magic item from a giant

they all upset the leaders of wherever they're from in some way, so this is those guys' way of either getting them to redeem themselves or get rid of them

both options seem like death though, if not immediate then eventually

they also specified that only one of them can come back victorious, so they're all doing their best to reach the giant's territory before each other, using sabotage or whatever they can, maybe even a little attempted murder or two at the start

near the end of their journey though there is talk of teaming up, because really None of them are capable of taking down a giant alone

The Lady Death is what they call her, a giantess that lives on the edge of a wasteland, who scoops up travelers that come too close never to be seen again

there is a lesser known story about the giantess that some of them know, saying she is more benevolent than she seems, with an angel on her shoulder

if you prove yourself to the angel she will listen and grant you passage into the wastes where, supposedly, there is a lush sanctuary somewhere (Philza's builds inspired?)

none of them actually think this version of the tale holds more truth, but it does stick with them, the tiniest idea that maybe they have a third option that's not 'death now' or 'death later'

Lots of build-up? since i want it to be g/t but the main giant only appears later. more focus on the stories they know and what they imagine they'll find

also run-ins with 'smaller' giants on the way

Obviously Kristin and Philza just gain a bunch of tired, scared kids from this

the story after that likely has found family as a main focus whereas it was more like a subplot when benchtrio+twinsduo were traveling

Twisted Fates

Being a crown prince sounds great unless you're actually a crown prince; Techno would much rather live far away from people, never having to deal with their problems, only whatever challenges come his way. Wilbur longs for a life where providing for himself isn't a constant struggle with danger wherever he looks, a life where he can relax or even meet people. Just watching and swiping the occasional thing from the royalty in this castle isn't enough to fulfill this dream. Until Techno wakes up to the disorienting sight of the castle far larger than he recalls and Wilbur is suddenly big and visible and sees an opportunity for both of them. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time might've just fixed both of their problems, or given them entirely new ones.

for this one I've settled on swapped sizes and royal au

twinsduo. Techno is (reluctantly) a crown prince and Wilbur is (enthusiastically) a borrower in the castle

Wilbur happened to be sneaking around the same room Techno is in when some magic mishap happens, swapping their sizes

princess and the pauper situation where they realize they look very similar and think the other's life sounds amazing so they swap places

I like giving borrowers tails so Wilbur has to either pass his off as the magic accident or hide it, same with his hair or he dyes it

and Techno still has bright pink hair he's unwilling to part with so he stands out a bit too much sometimes

but they seem to be having fun? at least for now. no care for fixing the situation yet

Philza is the king who loves his son very much but starts suspecting this might not be his son

angst and misunderstandings and reveals, by the end of this Phil has two sons

Finished my (hopefully) final exam!!

Was hoping to know, how are the relative sizes of the tinies to the giants in your aus, i know shaleshifter Ranboo can be any size, but are they more like finger size length or doll like??

Or if you already mentioned this and i just missed it, any general headcannons of an au you want to share is also fine! 😁

ohhhh awesome i'm so glad to hear :D (though i do hope you stick around my askbox)

this is the general size difference between characters in my aus, like something's brewing, haunted house, spy, tiny workers (though for tiny workers they're a tiiiny bit taller just bc i don't want them to get completely mauled by a golf ball while trying to stop it lmao), etc. etc.

tbh looking at the image, a minigiant may be just a tad shorter, but again this is just the general visualization,,

River, grave, trust

remembered this ask was for a fake fic ask game, gonna do it to get back into the swing of writing >:D!!

It was supposed to be a dare.

He wasn't actually meant to be trapped under the ice.

Yet here Tubbo was, desperately trying to swim against the icy current so he could get back to the hole he'd made in the ice, able to see Tommy's blurred figure running along the top of the ice and trying to find a weak spot to get him out.

...

Everything was starting to go dark. Tommy had run off to find help. Tubbo couldn't feel anything anymore. He was running out of time.

A large pair of hands shot through the ice, wrapping around him and quickly holding him close to whoever they belonged to. He faintly heard someone trying to talk to him, just trying to get closer to the warmth, closing his eyes.

...

Tommy was horrified. He felt terrible. Tubbo- His best friend- was on the brink of death, all because of his stupid dare.

"Tommy."

"Tommy?"

"Tommy!"

He jolted, looking up at Ranboo.

"S-Sorry big man..." He muttered, tensing as the minigiant picked him up to let him be beside Tubbo.

"...Make sure he doesn't die on our way to Phil's. We'll be there soon."

"...okay, big man. i trust you."

Imagine Bench Trio playing a size-changing mod in Minecraft, Ranboo be the first one to try the mod( growth), and then it happens IRL and all of them just start panicking

For me I see Tomy trying shrinking, Tubbo trying growth (wants to be the tallest), and Ranboo staying the same- but since you said Ranboo does growth-

After Ranboo grows to be a little taller then an Endermen, Tubbo gets the idea to be as big as a mountain! While Tommy just gets small and explores the world from two pixels tall- it's all fun and good until the day after recording that all wake up at these different sizes and start freaking out- Ranboo is still living with Tubbo so they try to help each other out as much as they can... But now they're worried about what Tommy might be going through, being that small has to be hard.....

Which is why when Aimesy and Badlino (I can't remember his name and I could only find the title of someone's YouTube edit as a reference- sorry) come to their house to record and see a giant Tubbo and a mini giant Ranboo, the two biggins ask some of them to go to call someone to go check on Tommy (listen the only cricket crew video I've seen so far is the Mario party stream and I remember them saying Tommy lives three days away-), hopefully he's safe or at least his parents found him before anything bad could happen

Yeah!

Exterminator AU

SBI + Ranboo are all tinies that live in the walls of Schlatt and Tubbo’s house. In this au tinies are seen as pests so people know about them but they’re generally just viewed as a nuisance. Schlatt’s job is to exterminate tinies whenever there are “infestations” and Tubbo doesn’t think there’s any problem with it. At least that’s until he catches one of the tinies in his house and actually gets to know them as people rather than pests.

Little Streamer AU:

(Psss if this one looks familiar to anyone it’s because I sent it as asks to people before I decided to just make a blog)

Tommy is a tiny who was adopted by a human family when he was a baby. In this au tinies are pretty rare but they are still considered equal to humans and therefore have the same technology available to them. Tommy starts to stream when his family bought him a tiny pc for his birthday, and becomes close friends with some of the other streamers. However, he never really though much about whether or not they were all borrowers too so when his dad took him to meet up with his streamer friends and he was dropped off with 3 very shocked humans he had a lot to get used to.

Friendly Giant AU:

Tubbo lives with human sbi in a little town surrounded by a thick forest on all sides. Among the townspeople word had spread of a dangerous beast living in the forest with cat-like eyes and fangs bigger than houses, but most just believed they were stories meant to keep kids from adventuring too far. That is until Tubbo accidentally gets hurt trying to set up a trap in the woods and finds himself face to face with a giant black and white speckled creature. He panics and knocks himself out while trying to escape the monsters clutches, but wakes up to find himself in a large dark cave. He’s extremely confused and wonders if it had all just been a dream until he notices his injuries had been bandaged up and a small bowl of soup sat next to him.

TinyKarl AU:

Whenever Karl time travels he ends up as a tiny in whatever time period he ends up in, this leads to a lot of strange or dangerous situations for him.

LittleHusbands AU:

Michael is a minigiant (like 30 ft) and Tubbo and Ranboo who are normal sized take him in. They love their son with all their hearts but sometimes it’s hard to raise a child that can pick you up in their hands like a toy. (Also this is why there mansion is so huge)
