Went to the doctor just for a check up and he basically just told me "your body just processes sugar very well! :) :) :) It's a good thing! :) :) :) It can't possibly be the source of your symptoms even though eating fixes it :) :) :)" But there was also a moment when talking about my iron deficiency that is possibly one of the funniest things a doctor has ever said to me, up with the cardiologist who said "you're a medical mystery": He was going over my blood test results, and said "Your iron levels haven't gone up at all, they are still extremely low, but you're not anemic anymore" And I was like how am I not anemic anymore??? And he said "Your hemoglobin levels have gone up...somehow..." while frowning at the blood test results on his computer. It was very "somehow, palpatine has returned" lol

The continuous bombardment and the ongoing genocide pose a significant threat to their well-being. What pains me even more is that due to the lack of medications in Gaza, my Mom, who is a type 2 Diabetis patiant and was scheduled for an urgent eye surgery, have had no access to insulin or any medical care for the past 3 months. Some of my family members sought refuge in the southernmost part of Gaza (Rafah) in tents. However, my parents, and sisters have no alternative place to stay, forced to remain in the Nusierat refugee camp, which is now the subject of continuous severe bombardment since christmas started.” Am on my knees requesting for your donations. Please help where possible.
I cannot express the sadness I have over literally everything I hear about Gaza. My grandmother is also type 2 diabetic who's required eye surgery; one of my closest friends is also insulin-dependent diabetic. As someone with a hodgepodge of medical issues, as well, I can only pray for peace and medical accessibility for your poor family. I'm far from the biggest blog you could have put this in the inbox of, but I will boost this as much as I can. This is genocide, and you deserve peace.
Tumblr media
Please, reblog and donate, if you can! Here's the masterpost of ways to help.
Free Palestine. Free Gaza.
Alert: Someone informed me the account that sent me this ask was a scam. I was unaware to this point that anyone would even… dare? Running a scam off of Palestinian suffering? It is absolutely awful to be stealing stories from real survivors for cash. However, the link provided in this post is not a scam link; this is a real link of resources, so I thought it best the post stay up. So, please, still do what you can to free Palestine; even if this story was stolen, it is still someone’s story.
Here’s the real person’s gofundme, from @buttercuparry!

im in the pits of despair. I have my neurologist appointment tomorrow to discuss my latest mri and as always before a major doctor's appointment I'm spiraling through worst case scenarios, especially because of the latest additions to my symptoms. And it hit me that if my neurologist found what I'm suspecting they will find and I'd end up needing major brain surgery sooner than expected I'd have nobody sitting at my bedside in the hospital. And I don't think I've ever been so sad in my entire life.

OOOO OP DROP RICK AND MORTY OCS
OH BOY HERE WE GO.
so, I made these cute ref sheets in the shows style yesterday (and today), apologies if you cant decipher my scribbly handwriting, ill summarize below:
Tumblr media
Rick (nicknamed on the citadel "Seven")
Rick's home dimension is M-121.5 but you could hardly call it a home. He left his Diane and Beth behind shortly after acquiring portal technology from Prime or one of his subordinate Ricks, wandering off to absorb himself in the vastness of infinity.
His original dimension never ended up birthing a Morty, since his Beth and Jerry had trouble supporting themselves and had Summer as their only child.
Rick, eventually growing lonely but refusing to admit it, joins the citadel in an effort to be useful and climb the ranks there with the hopes of living a fulfilling life in a safe, Rick-made bubble. He gets assigned a Morty as standard, but said Morty dies in combat on a riot not too shortly after.
Rick gets a (small) punishment, one you'd get for breaking a doorknob or forgetting to turn off the lights in the building before you leave; getting a Morty killed. He probably just has to scrub toilets for a week or something.
He gets his new Morty and resumes work on the teleportation deck as normal and lives with his Morty in a small apartment, until S301 where they manage to flee the citadel together.
Morty ("unlucky charm" / other similar insults behind his back)
Has forgotten his original dimensional code due to constant changes of ownership. Only the Morty databanks know it now. He took M-121.5's dimension as his and carries a small wristband with the code written on it.
This Morty has gone through a LOT of Ricks. Six in fact, which is why his new Rick is mockingly called "Seven" by others on the citadel, making fun of him for ending up with such a shitty excuse of a Morty. Asking him if he'd lost a bet.
Morty's left arm has been surgically altered to fit a tracker interface that'll show Rick's current position and vitals to Morty. Though he only gets this later, after they flee the citadel.
The jacket he is wearing was originally merchandise stolen from a small shop he worked in while living on the citadel. They later add patches to it in an effort to cover up the citadel logo, since Morty doesn't want to give up the jacket, and Rick is paranoid about association with the citadel after they've fled. Pretty rich coming from the guy still wearing his uniform under a stinky coat, but what can you do when those are the only clothes you've got.
Tumblr media
They go through an intense period of struggling for survival, with the Federation collapse and chaos left behind, the two of them retreat to more desolate spots of the universe to wait for the dust to settle. After a bit of "holy shit we lived" euphoria, they fight a lot, with Rick slowly noticing the many flaws in this Morty he is now -- in his assumption -- forever stuck with. He also pushes Morty too far numerous times but reels him back in again anytime because what other option is there? Being stranded alone in an asteroid gas station restaurant?
Eventually Morty suggests returning to "their" home dimension. Rick's home dimension. He's reluctant but eventually (after a really long while and lots of convincing) does give in since their circumstances are dire and they could use a little civilization, even if it means returning to the family he abandoned.
I don't have much worked out for this Smith family, but I'd assume Summer is a good deal different from the Summer we know, due to being an only child. Beth's daddy issues are just as intense as Beth Prime.
This Beth and Jerry probably also never end up divorced and stay together for Summer's sake, honestly probably unhealthier than just splitting up for the time being and working out their issues separately.
Once they crash (probably literally) into their new "home" and everybody gets over the initial insanity of the situation, Rick struggles to confront the reasons he left and kind of just drowns himself in unhealthy habits. Besides the known drinking issues which is kind of the baseline, he makes sure to never let Morty out of his sight and pretty much makes a normal life for the kid impossible despite desperately promising it to him when they turned to move to Earth.
He builds a new portal gun out of scrap they've harvested while surviving and old things Beth never threw away because they reminded her of her father, and he's gone again. Gone with Morty. Gone God knows where. Except he returns at night to sleep in a shitty little cot and fuck he probably drags Morty's air mattress into his room with him without any explanation. Blames it on Morty not being able to sleep alone since they left the citadel. Blames it on anything but himself.
They go into what I'd describe as a narcissism-fuelled grace period, or honeymoon period, the more time they spend together off-planet after crashing at the Smith's house.
Tumblr media
They go from Rick being very controlling and making Morty feel like an inferior sidekick, to Rick actually opening up and helping him become better. Very slowly and gradually, he realizes that, well, he's stuck with this Morty now. This is *his* Morty by all intents and purposes, and he doesnt have a fuckin replacement Morty ticket and after constructing and unregistered portal gun he'd not be let back into the citadel anyway even after reconstruction - so might as well invest his time and effort into this one Morty as much as he (claims to) hate it.
The kid is so broken already, having witnessed so many versions of his grandpa die, which Rick realizes after a while would just make it easier for him to reassemble him anew and mold him how he wants it. He's a sick bastard but if it aint broke dont fix it and especially dont fix it if it promises to always stay by your side and begs you not to leave
The whole "unlucky charm" curse only serves to fuel Rick's ego too because, unlike all these previous Ricks he only knows about on paper, *he* hasn't died yet with this shitty excuse of a Morty around him. which makes him better than all those before him. He's cocky, priding himself on living where those Ricks failed.
He gets too confident, as all Ricks do, and after a few too-close brushes with death he does decide to invest into various failsafes and "upgrading" Morty to a standard he sees fit. This is when Morty gets the tracker arm enhancement and various other augmentations that'll essentially turn him into a lifeline for Rick. He's driven by anxiety of his past mistakes, past deaths of Ricks, repeating. This time there'd be no scolding by teachers and new Rick two weeks later. There'd only be grief, and nothing.
Morty's trained not only in combat and survival skills but also shown how to reboot and even replace certain cybernetic parts of Rick's body.
Tumblr media
surgery, baby!
Not on a clone, not a simulation, the real him. Train for the real deal.
They spend weeks in the newly constructed underground labs, Morty cutting him open and putting him back together; surgeries upon surgeries without any anesthetic so that Rick is fully aware and awake to guide Morty through it.
Eventually Morty does have to put those skills to the test when shit goes wrong on an adventure, but this is already so long so I'll spare you!! I'd be surprised if you read to here, if you did, thank you and I'm glad you're interested in my little guys !!

Jou Kido is in his second year of resident training and hasn’t been sleeping in weeks. Months, maybe? Years? They blended together depressingly. He wonders how everyone else in his program can handle it… and all he wants to do is… anything but this. He’s so, so tired.
One day a young woman, maybe 17 or 18, is rushed into the hospital after a car accident. Jou is shadowing the ER doc who is in charge of taking care of her. Before he enters the woman’s room, the ER doc rushes out and yells:
“Figure this thing out, Kido!”
Jou enters the room. The ER doc and some other staff are taking care of the woman. The doctor points to a chair in the corner of the room. And there Jou sees a Digimon, bloodied, partially wrapped in sheets. He’s never seen this Digimon before— it looks like a snow-white weasel with a ring around its neck similar to Tailmon’s
Jou doesn’t even pause to think. He stops the Digimon’s bleeding after a while, and he notices blue data particles inside the wound. He doesn’t know if this means the Digimon is dying or healing, but he hopes it’s the latter.
The woman survives, and so does the Digimon. Jou checks on them when the woman is awake. He immediately goes to change the Digimon’s bandages and notices the particles are gone from the wound— that it’s completely healed itself.
“Are you Kudamon’s doctor?” The woman asks. “I didn’t know there were Digimon doctors in this hospital, but I’m SO glad you were here!”
“Oh, I’m not…”
The woman stared at him tearfully, gratefully.
He wanted to say: “there’s no such thing as a Digimon doctor” but the words died on his tongue. All Jou could think about since that injured Digimon came in was what those data particles were and how he could study them. Why had they appeared only after he tended to the Digimon’s wound, and not before?
He leaves the hospital that night thinking hard on how difficult it must be for chosen children to understand their Digimon’s physiology. To know when their Digimon partners are sick or injured. Nobody on Earth, or at least Japan, cared about Digimon medicine.
But Jou could.
He spends his one free day off that week writing a proposal to his residency program, to let him do something that probably sounded crazy to them. But it was worth a shot, wasn’t it?
Jou wakes up the next morning to a Digi-egg sitting on his nightstand, and it’s warm to the touch

tldr: im having a bad time lol but im working on it!
im not a huge fan of tell-all's in regards to my personal life
a lot goes on that i really only tell a specific group of people, my partner lollipopskele, and my besties pterosaursinspace, absurdmageart, sheewolf85 and thesinbubble being some of them
but the past year and really, the past about couple days/weeks have been a special kind of hell, so i thought id open up a bit and explain, so if i drop off the face of the earth, yall know why, and know ill be back as soon as i can!
tldr (again) is my family has been dealing with a Lot of major health concerns, so tw for a lot of talk about the Big Bad C and similar bad health stuff
so... around january, february of last year, my dad found out he had cancer. its a blood/marrow cancer, but they caught it pretty early so the doctors think they can take care of it good.
he goes in june of 2023 to get a bone marrow transplant. it goes well, hes home within two months, things are looking up.
they find out... i wanna say october, the numbers arent going up like they want. that december, they know the cancer is back.
they schedule another bone marrow transplant. my dad goes in the end of february 2024, and does chemo, radiation, then the transplant. hes currently in recovery, and his numbers look even better than the first time.
fast forward to last week. my baby sister, who is for all intents and purposes my daughter, has been using the bathroom a lot. every 15 minutes this kid has to pee. shes constantly hungry, and constantly thirsty. she sweats constantly, no matter the temp or what shes doing.
now, to some of you that will sound hauntingly familiar. shes 7, my baby is, so i start worrying about diabetes. im diabetic myself, but mine is type 2. hers is looking like type 1.
so i take her to the doctor, with our mother. they ask all the questions, and schedules tests. they test for uti's twice, nothing. the tests all come back negative for anything, except her sugars. her sugars when they check it are 131. for context, a kid her age should not have blood sugars levels above 100.
so we go to the doctor again. they check her a1c (which, for reference, checks her sugar levels for the past three months). theyre at a good, normal level, so they say shes fine.
im taking her tomorrow to see my doctor, who im hoping can give me a better answer.
im officially in charge of my siblings as of right now. my mother needs to stay with my dad until hes fully released to come home, which could be soon, or could be weeks from now.
ill be making sure all the housework is taken care of, that they get to school and do their homework. ill be making sure the bills get paid, and the groceries are taken care of. ill be managing my sisters health.
so again lol
if i fall off the face of the earth, feel free to give me a shout
ill be back though, not to worry about that <3 and ill be writing on things as im able!
love you guys, thanks if you read to the end lol

Personal post- TW for descriptions of serious medical issues and surgery
I FINALLY go tomorrow to see the breast oncologist about my benign breast tumor. It’s been growing rapidly for about 4 months and at this point it’s huge. I got a mammo, ultrasound, and biopsy 2 months ago. I was told it’s likely a rare, fast growing tumor called a phyllodes tumor, that right now is supposedly benign, but could become malignant in the future. I don’t know what the doctor is going to say, but I’m guessing it will mean surgery. Otherwise I assume I would need constant biopsies for basically forever? Which sounds a billion times worse than surgery. Also it’s like… actively getting bigger atm. So yeah I do need surgery.
I also apparently have calcifications in my other breast that need to be checked out in six months. Not happy about that either, but it could be nothing.
Dunno when the surgery is gonna be or why I’m bothering to post about this until I know the plan. I guess I just need to talk about it out loud. Like, I’m fine. It’s fine. I’ve had surgery for a benign thyroid tumor before and it was fine. Catching these things early is good. I’m just…. Not looking forward to having surgery again

I'm going to blow a fucking fuse. 3 years ago I got my chiari diagnosis after having had symptoms my entire life and running from doctor to doctor and just being a very ill child in general. 21 years of running around with an undiagnosed CONGENITAL illness despite having had multiple MRIs and other stuff done over the years. And no it's not because Chiari is so rare and they didn't know what it was, as it turned out later, because it was visible on my mri IT'S BECAUSE THE FUCKING RADIOLOGIST OR NEUROLOGIST DIDN'T DREAM TO MENTION IT and decided to discharge me with depression instead. Because that's an easy diagnosis to give someone with headaches in combination with symptoms you don't understand. And if that's not already enough!! when the talks about my first surgery started, once I found a specialist for chiari here, a bunch of new mris were done and we sat down and talked about my head and my entire spine for hours on end and my neurologist at the time said 'oh and you have mild scoliosis but it's fine everyone has scoliosis' and I believed her because I didn't know any better and I expected her to do her fucking job!!!!! Well turns out it's not mild and it's not normal and perhaps if you're a SPECIALIST FOR A CHRONIC ILLNESS YOU SHOULD TELL THAT PATIENT ABOUT ANY FUCKING COMORBIDITIES YOU FUCKING CUNT

I have an IRL House MD story (medical mystery, not gay)
for you all!!
Please read the tags, details below the cut
So my mom has had chronic nosebleeds for two years. When I say chronic I mean she bleeds profusely from her face every single day. Like she can use up a roll of toilet paper or more, a box of tissues or more, on a bad week.
At first she thought it was just dryness. She used ointment and would carefully clean it up each day so it wouldn’t reopen whenever possible. (The ointment she used has a small chance of causing problems with the mucous membranes, so this is not for everyone.)
It helped but didn’t work.
She went to an ear nose and throat specialist who scoped her multiple times. Nothing. She got scans. Nothing.
Then she was having trouble with her blood pressure and we thought maybe that was the problem. She got the blood pressure under control and the nosebleeds improved but didn’t go away.
Eventually it was just a fact of life. Daily nosebleed. I got very used to nosebleed emergency protocol lol
And then
This last week
She is carefully cleaning up and I kid you not she removed a HUGE chunk of PLASTIC from her nose, like close to a whole centimeter across. It was MASSIVE.
And now her nose has FINALLY started to heal
All because of a mystery chunk of plastic wedged in her nose
I feel like I just walked out of the toothpick episode
