Can you please help me find my purpose? My 10th house Chiron and all this Saturn makes it so difficult

helloo, how are you doing? i hope ur doing well

what do i see about your life purpose?

Spiritual/emotional/mental healing* and teaching through transmission of deeper knowledge*.

such as: teaching about a philosophy of life or simply about how things work on a spiritual level. holistic therapy, guiding people who are spiritually lost, who feel aimless, which reverberates on the earth plane, on their material life and experiences.

or else traditional therapy (psychology), to deal with the mental, emotional and psychological issues of people, without having a spiritual contact. however, regardless of whether it is holistic or "traditional" therapy, i don't see just therapy or any kind of healing work. what i see is being a teacher and a therapist at the same time. this is what i see on your chart.

i'll explain why.

*healing in yourself and others, necessarily, through an exchange (when you help people, this resonates on you, helping your own wounds). *deeper knowledge = beliefs, philosophies, faith, ways of living, something that actually impacts someone's life. something that is transformative.

When we are going to look at our life purpose, career, in addition to looking at the points that are directly related to it - such as Medium Coeli, placements with 10th house, asteroids such as Industria etc -, we also have to use the rest of the chart to understand how our essence works, what pleases us, and what are our challenges (also because our challenges can and will help us in the purpose of life).

Speaking of your natal chart, i see that Chiron in the 10th house already points to a purpose of healing and constant teaching. that means to say: you'll find more about yourself by helping others (Chiron). this is your calling, your purpose.

it also means that you will improve on your inner challenges, difficulties and obstacles by studying more about them and at the same time teaching someone else about it (Saturn). it's important to have this exchange: learning, teaching; learn to teach; learn to teach. or better still: learn, release; learn, release; learn, release.

I say this about "releasing" because Sagittarius in the 10th represents an urgency of spiritual fulfillment, the love for life, which not all natives consciously seek, but this is the essence of the placement: restlessness about understanding the deeper meanings of life, desire to live this in collective experiences, in the outside world (since the 10th house is the outside world, the arena of social relations on a more solid, earthly level).

Sagittarius Midheaven, along with Chiron Capricorn 10th house brings this need for HEALING in the career, in the feeling of each one's encounter with life. healing in the concept of what a career is, what a purpose in life is (the person may not feel worthy or have misconceptions). In short, several possibilities. but the keywords I see are: HEALING, TEACHING AND DEEP KNOWLEDGE (about the spiritual side of life or our life path in general).

Sagittarius is the trust in things, trust in the process (that's why Sagittarian tend to not be an immediate human who has an urgency to solve everything, he lets go, he allows, he trusts, and he wants to pass the same trust to others), trust in the universe, understanding the functioning of what brought us here - within the possibilities of explanation, understanding the spiritual laws, how we are ruled by energies, the beliefs that sustain us, the human diversity that creates the depth of who we are, etc.

but as you have Chiron in the 10th, you have a deep insecurity with earthly life. and it can impact your view of life, of what life is for you in that social sense (career, life path), wound of what the universe has to you. this can keep you from understanding things in a spiritual and lighter way, making you a person who always seeks a material "urgency", because the wound is there, in that area. in security. in the sense of purpose.

When I say all this, your mind may think: "teaching career?"

"teaching career?". we no longer need to view certain professions based on preconceived ideas. today there are, more than ever, different possibilities of what to be. you can be a teacher without actually being linked to an institution, working autonomously. you can be a therapist, without actually being a traditional therapist. you can be a holistic therapist, working with the study of spirituality, but still of the mind, still teaching people. it all depends on what you want. but these potentials I already see in you.

the door to get in touch with the spiritual realm you already have,

just access this (if you're interested, of course): Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, both in 8th house. a lot of psychic energy having contact and exchange with spiritual matters, and I'm not talking necessarily about religion. spirituality in the sense of the energies themselves, of the things that surround us.

in addition, you have Pisces rising, which increases your ability to perceive things around you, to intuitively capture what few see, but that exists: energies, things "invisible" to our earthly plane, but that influence us. the thoughts of others, the sensations of others, the emotions, the energy of the environment, Pisces is capable of feeling all these things, and your Ascendant can bring a lot of openness to this.

Moon in 12th house is another "portal" to things that are invisible,

but that affect us a lot, people's energies, our energies, the energies of the environments, everything that involves energy, good and evil, sorrow, happiness, fluctuations, everything it is felt on an emotional level. you probably have to deal a lot with sensations of things that don't belong to you, but that you pick up from around you.

if this is used for your good and in a conscious way, wow, it will be quite a tool for your self-knowledge and growth!

and I spoke about Saturn because,

although your Saturn is in Cancer in the 4th house, it is conjunct the asteroid Industria, so, Saturn has the same placement as Industria. so it certainly brings difficulties in this trajectory of discovering the area that seems ideal for you.

it brings a feeling of being "out" of the concrete world, of not being part of or, in some way, not being able to reach their earthly, material planes. if so, I hope you can, from this answer, have more clarity in your thoughts.

for me, the asteroid Industria (389) has a lot to do with the area we are going to search for in career. being in Cancer and in the 4th house, it refers to careers that involve care. but not just any care: emotional care, dealing with others' emotional issues. which adds one more ingredient to what I said above, including reinforcing the ideas I expressed about your life purpose.

asteroids show the energies that we will feel more subtly (within what they represent), but to have more strength in acting, aspects are neeeded, especially with personal planets or with Jupiter and Saturn (as is your case).

I couldn't see the cusp houses, but I wanted to ask if you have intercepted houses, from what I've seen, it looks like you do. 2x Gemini and 2x Sagittarius, intercepted signs: Aries and Libra.

this can give you a lack of feeling that you are capable of initiating things, of going out there and doing something. in the same way, the area of relationships can also be an area with some problems arising during your life. therefore, try to nurture more of the Aries and Libra sides in your personality.

it could be that there is a lack of energy to initiate things, as well as a difficulty with balancing things and entering into relationships. it can also affect career, life purpose, so I talked about that.

Astrology observations #2

This is for fun, they are just my personal observations :)

♦️ Capricorn Venus might be attracted to people with good social status like doctors/lawyers, social success might be a turn-on for them. They value stability and financial success.

♦️Virgo venus is the venus sign most likely to have cosmetic procedures done as they project their perfectionism on their appearance and aesthetic. They want to (and often do) look perfect.

♦️Mars in 1st house might come across as agressive or intimidating. They might not look very approachable. They could have a strong body and look athletic regardless of their exercise routine.

♦️Mars in scorpio: I know only two people in my close circle with this placement and they both have dark circles under their eyes. Even when they are not tired. It gives them a penetrating and intense look.

♦️Sun conjunct/square Saturn natives might have a harder time expressing their core personality in the first years of their life. They might feel restricted in their self-expression and might show their sun sign only with people they truly feel comfortable with.

♦️Moon conjunct/trine/sextile Mercury can easily express their emotions and feelings. Especially by writing, they find the perfect words to express how they feel. They could write amazing love letters ❤️

♦️Mars conjunct/square/opposite Uranus often love speed. These aspects are very common in Formula 1 drivers and motoGP racers. These people love to take risks and live for the adrenaline. However they also must be careful when driving as they can be too impulsive. But they usually have excellent reflexes (conjunct especially). The square and the opposition might be more clumsy and often hit themselves against furniture and stuff like that.

♠️ Taurus Mars 🤝 Anger issues. It's either a disaster or unhealthy suppression. No in between.

♠️ Mars-Neptune placements have some wide imagination when it comes to steamy stuff. It be going on in their heads 24/7! Also they might get frequent wet dreams. Infact on a side note they are quite looking forward to it when they go to sleep.

♣️ Mars in 4th house went through a lot of family trauma in childhood. It could be anything like daily arguments, abusive household, domestic violence etc.

♠️ Sagittarius venus and their frequent crushes. If influenced by Scorpio could be secretive as hell.

♠️ Jupiter–Saturn negatively aspected could indicate a hard academic life in the beginning but once you work on it, you will succeed with flying colors. My friend has her jupiter squaring saturn and she was always at the bottom in her class. But once she decided to put her mind into it, she became one of the toppers in our school.

♣️ Asteroid Actor conjuct moon could mean that when you act, you act flawlessly. No one could tell if you are acting or not. Emotions are always on point. It comes very natural to these people. If underdeveloped, could make sly manipulators, like a wolf under sheep's skin.

Whereas if it's negatively aspected you might face a little difficulty in dealing with science majors and need more effors to put in. I have jupiter square scientia and I know exactly what I am talking about.

♠️ Aries risings are the most restless beings alive. They can't sit still for two minutes to save their lives! I'm soo happy, this is already my second post! 🥺

These are my personal observations, they aren't meant to hurt anyone. Take what resonates!

Mercury in the tenth/ mercury conjunct mc is a law placement

Do all virgo sun/moon/rising women nag about everything when they're tired/ stressed? I feel like they are also really bad know-it-alls sometimes

They are also the ones to point out how much you're eating. "Do you really want to eat all of that?" YES! I feel like their parents were very strict or criticising in their childhood! 🥺 I love you guys, but please stop. This isn't healthy for you and neither for me

Virgo and pisces paired in a birth chart is an indicator of working in the medical/ health field

They are amazing at caring for other people and their virgo makes them detail oriented which helps them at university

Pisces mc's are sooo creative! They love showing or even showcasing their creativity on social media

They could also have a really nice aesthetic on social media, they are the ones to post only aesthetic stuff

Ic / moon in Virgo. Their parents prioritised books and wisdom in their childhood. Could have spent many days in libraries or with many books around in general!

Sagittarius moons/ dominants or 9th house dominants excel at university. They are known for their success and good grades, especially in law or politics

This can be a new relationship beginning that leads to marriage and helps heal your natal chiron (your deepest wound). But it would be nonsense to think that happens for everyone. 4th and 10th house: how we act in public vs how we act on private

Hello!! After a long pause, I came back with another post that will focus in the IC and MC axis so it could describe how we act in public (in terms of job and career settings) vs how we act in private places such as our home or with intimate friends acording to the signs rulling the cusps of these houses.

I will write this with opposite signs which means that I will start with Aries/Libra dinamic, then Taurus/Scorpio and so on. For those who don't have opposite signs just look at the signs ruling your IC and MC, and then look at both in the list below.

Aries in the IC/Libra in the MC: for those who have Aries as the rulling sign of your IC, they tend to be a very active, fierce, athletic, and action oriented person. These people can't stand still in their home environment or private setting. They must do something that's why doing sports to burn that energy can be a common thing for these individuals to do once they are at home. For woman, their family or closed ones tend to see them as a tomboy. With Libra rulling the opposite house, in career settings people tend to look at them as someone fashionable, fair, loving, charming and atractive. Taurus in the IC/Scorpio in the MC: with Taurus rulling the IC, these people tend to be pretty much calm and relaxed in their home environment or with their closest ones. They are seeing as hard working and money oriented (this can be seen either as a good or bad trait) due to their need or having enough material comfort. They tend lo like to keep relationships peaceful in their home and they don't have much problem unless they feel that they lack financial or material support. With Scorpio as the rulling of the MC, these natives makes carry a lot of power, magnetism, intensity and mysteriousness in a public setting related to their work. They like to makes things done in a practical way that may look overly perfectionist to those closest to them. People will tend to proyect a certain idea of who this person is in real life but, most probably than not, their proyections will tend to be wrong or, at least, not entirely true. Libra in the IC/Aries in the MC: this part is similar to the aries/libra dinamic but in the reverse. These individuals have an inner caring, loving, and peace-maker energy when they are alone or with close ones but, in career settings, they carry an intense and masculine energy that may appear aggresive at times. They put a lot of energy, leadership, movement and action in their work environment. Meanwhile, once they are alone, in their home, or with close ones, these individuals are the most caring and fairest people in general. They are calm and want everything to be harmonic with their personal relationships.

Scoprio in the IC/Taurus in the MC: these natives seems calm, composed, hard working, practical, and loving in every work setting. They work hard for their success, they gradually and steadilly build a legacy or rename in the company they work for. They seems more open than their true and private nature reveals. Because the truth is, with Scorpio rulling the most intimate part of ourselves, these individuals are extremely private with their intimate life. Only a very few people, family and friends that they can trust are allowed to know their deepest part of themselves, their pains and shadow self. They can be caring in their workplace but this doesn't mean that he/she is close or intimate with their co-workers. Sagittarius in the IC/Gemini in the MC: these people act chatty, intelligent, knowledgeable and open to any kind of conversation in a public or career settings. They are smart, whitty, adaptable to any situation, and quick so they know how to answer any kind of question. Despite the intelligence and knowledge they show on public settings, this people tend to have an inner yearning to learn more things, either by studying more or travelling to other places to learn more things, even though it may seem as if they know a lot already. Along with this, they could have an inner belief system within themselves about God or humanity in general that could surprise people and an humorous side that they only show in closed settings such as their home or with friends.

Capricorn in the IC/Cancer in the MC: this is the opposite of the Cancer/Capricorn duo. In these cases, the individuals who have Cancer as the sign rulling their MC are seen in public or career settings as someone motherly, someone who is emotionally invested in the work he/she does in the company or in their own proyects. It affects them deeply when they make a mistake or are not able to fulfill perfectly the work they are asked to do. On private, they are very serious and responsable. They work hard behind the scenes in everything they do because there is a lot of responsabilities for this natives. That's why they are very private with their feelings even with his/her friends and family. Only a small selection of them are allowed to know their intimate thoughts and feelings.

Aquarius in the IC/Leo in the MC: people with Leo in MC are, in general, very popular or they tend to become well known in their jobs pretty fast because a lot of people tend to admire their aparent charisma, confidence, talent, warm, and bright personality a lot. Some people could see them as egocentric or self-centered due to this but, on private settings, they can be the most caring people of them all despite that they doesn't like as nurturing or caring as a water o earth sign. In private settings or, on their own, they prefer to socialise or try to help other people through social media, working in humanitarian causes, and, most probably than not, they have an intelligent, revolutionary, and "weird" side to them (in the best way) that they don't display on public. Pisces in the IC/Virgo in the MC: these natives are very down to earth, hard-working, practical, grounded, and detail-oriented in a work setting. They put all their effort in their careers, they want every detail resolved so everything can be perfect which, in extremes cases, can make them look overly critical in the eyes of their co-workers. Because, in many cases, they don't like others, or themselves, to commit a mistake. Maybe it won't look like it to others, but in private they are very dreamy, imaginative, emphatic, and sensible. In private, they tend to let their sensible and imaginative side take course so he/she can escape a little bit of the harsh reality of life. They could enjoy reading, listening music, drink or, maybe, doing some spiritual practices that helps them to connect to their intuitive side and helps them to recharge.

🦋 Now I don’t like to talk about how Scorpio and Aries mars are seen as "sexy" because it's been said trillions of times (even tho I like to read them because I'm a scorpio mars 💀). But hear me out, the most prominent thing about all scorpio mars individuals is that they like to move in complete silence, like they don't exist, like you will never catch them. Every decision they take in life is private, because that's the only way they can shock you with their big success and revenge on all people that didn't believe in them. They want to keep you guessing and never give you answers but will show actions and accomplishments only. Take care of your mind, it's something special gorg. Also your voice must be so unique, it stays on someone's mind and is so vivid when they think of you.

🦋 Mercury conjunct Jupiter, the philosopher. You just like to talk about abstract and broad topics. Spiritualist at heart, rational to deny it often tho. You have sooo many interests it's insane. You are the jack of all trades. People expect you to know things? You come off as a know it all, even if you don't mean it (yea I have it I relate). You have lessons to learn and teach those around you especially about their concept of life and beliefs. Any compliment you give can mean a lot to people. Your positivity is infectious.

🦋 Mercury aspecting Jupiter, especially conjunctions can give a lot of optimism, this applies to neptune positively aspecting chiron as well. I see it in charts of people that have heavy saturn, pluto or chiron energy, to balance the darkness, their ability to think positively is healing to them and others because likely other things are destroying them in life and they already have many wounds. Your optimism is not an illusion, it's a gift from the universe. Life gets better as you spiritually evolve.

🦋 Moon opposite/square mercury, such a hard aspect. A constant mental and emotional conflict. You don't know whether to trust your thoughts or emotions. You don't know when you're trusting either. There is a direct and strong influence of thoughts on emotions. Now that means your thought can hurt you or elevate you so be careful. Especially at a young age your thoughts and others' thoughts have hurt you deeply, as you grow you learn how to balance it out, to not give a f*ck. The good thing about this aspect is that these people pick up on their thought patterns easily and have potential to manipulate their minds to their benefit. Mental health is important to these individuals. Don't let your mind run wild especially in a negative direction. It's also important to surround yourselves with positive people. Music might be important for you to process emotions.

🦋 Conjunctions are far from being "neutral" aspects imo. They are powerful natural talents and gifts in perspective, confidence, expression and skills. These aspects are always positive, even to challenging planets, if they act negatively then there are likely other challenging aspects to the same planets, the native might have not learned yet how to work with this energy or hasn’t realized their potential. Conjunctions are the highest and strongest potential any two planets can reach. The planets don't become "one", they rather meet eye to eye, acknowledge their qualities fully and work out their differences beautifully which manifests in the form of talents and potential. Yes like all aspects they got their negatives too but their positives enormously surpass the negatives. Conjunctions are highly positive aspects, it's unfair to call them neutral.

The tittle sound promising, right. I want to HELP YOU, I will not dictate what career you should take. Astrology is a tool that we use for our path. It's not endgame. Me or any other astrologer shouldn't tell you how to live.

✅Please don't plagiarize my work, this is my theory and observations. You can disagree too, but please be nice.

Your dream career could change through the years, but the primary focus is derivative from these following placement. I would divide this in three layers.

MC + aspects

This is the first "layer"; people call the MC as our career or professions. However, it can also give clubes of how people see us in our job or our public image in general, not only our career.

keeping the superficial nature of this placement, it may resonated with some people and with others not so much. Then, It makes sense if you don't feel reflected in some astrology posts. For example, People with MC in aries want to feel alive and work with their body. The most mentioned career/ jobs are athletes or adventurers. However, not everyone will be an athlete,or have the money to be one. A general idea for the native is to maintain physical stimulation and to keeptheir passion; this can be applied to their any work they realise.

This is how you hope the public perceive you. Usually, people see you in this career or say that you just fit for (insert) career. The MC ruler would give you more information.

For example, MC (10th house) in Taurus, Taurus which us ruled by Venus. This person's Venus is located in the 2nd house Virgo . It's necesssary to see its ruler too; Mercury, they have it in 3rd house Libra. With this info, we can say that this person would prefer a place where they can be organize and expressive. They also aspire to build a balanced and beautiful environment. Earth signs search pleasure and a comfortable place. They want to be useful and have a nice life.

Moreover, MC in Taurus is mentioned to be aesthetic or aesthetically pleasing. People say they will fit into fashion industry or as designers. However, Virgo in Venus (mercury). It's more mental and still looking for stability not only earth pleasures. Mercury related jobs/careers also interested the native.

Possible jobs: writer, screenwriter, songwriter, secretary, teacher, or fashion designer, artist.

The third layer provides howevery aspect change the game. But I will explain it the big picture not the details (aspects), so you guys have an easier idea.

First as before, you go to your natal chart and see your MC. Let's say you have Taurus MC, so see the ruler of that sign. For Taurus is Venus, this placement is in the 2nd house is in Virgo. Virgo is rules by Mercury; let's see the mercury, which rules the 3th house is in Libra. This process is the same as previously mentioned. Which result in Venusian with mercurian energy mix.

Then, after seeing our MC and MC ruler, we need to see our North node. It doesn't matter if your MC aspected or not the Nodes. The native should follow this new challenge (north node) for this lifetime. If they don't challenge themselves, they will feel empty. Check the south node to see your natural gifts.

Finally, we go to our beautiful rising sign. Our rising is not only our physical appearance, but also shows what person we want to become, our the ideal or higher self.

The person above in the example with Venus in the 2nd house, they have a North node in Libra in the 2nd house, South node in Aries 8th house. So, what we can say about them?

They need a job where they feel good and build a higher concept of themselves, but also help others with their emotions somehow. They should have their own system of values and build their own boundaries. The following themes come easy to them investigations, rebirth, occult, death, a job where they can work close to home and have time for themselves. However, they may try to go with Libra and the 2nd house themes more, where they can have comfort and partnerships. Let's add a Scorpio rising to the mix, they will go under many transformations that can be guide for helping others.

Possible jobs: therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, nurse, healer, banker, teacher, professor, counselor, social worker or marriage counselor.

Note 1: As I say, the third point shows the whole picture. However, I don't talk about aspects and modalities. All of that have an effect to our career.

Note 2: The aspects to the nodes depict how is the journey to your profession. It's easier or hard? It's traditional or new?

Note 3: if you have different elements in your MC, Nodes, and the ruler, you have more choices and sometimes you feel confuse.

Note 4: degrees counts too, are you more confident or timid, how you achieve your goals? Are you young or old? Mature or immature?

Note 5: Read beyond and trust yourself. When you feel lost, you should ask yourself, what are my values? Usually, you may feel the most content when you follow your North node. it doesn't mean easy choice, though.

Her Cancer MC lets her use her work to channel her emotions. In her solo come up it very obvious she was very in tune with her emotions and she wasn’t ashamed of it. She was very compassionate and sweet to the media but because of this she was often deemed as dumb or very passive/shy. Her fans quickly became very attached to her on a emotional level. And typically people with Cancer MC are seen as mama bear and gain fan bases/ supporters that are very protective over them. And the public couldn’t deny her artistic ability as a solo artist even when she went through very public ups and downs like the breaking up of the original destiny’s child or rumors of infidelity between her and Jay -Z. It’s her humbleness that stayed with the media throughout her come up and even now.

MC PERSONA MC AQUARIUS

A lot of people would think that single ladies was the peak of her career, some would think it’s when she dropped her Self titled album unannounced with no promotion aka the digital drop, or when she released her most critically acclaimed album Lemonade. Regardless they all reflect her persona mc in Aquarius. It’s also no coincidence that after single ladies and her third album she became independent and started working on becoming more a legend and less of a pop star. She’s an innovator and every time she’s steps out of the box and creates something unique she gains more respect and solidarity to the public. She became known for being unpredictable and starting trends or bringing back old ones. It’s known by now that Beyoncé does whatever Beyoncé wants

NN PERSONA MC SCORPIO

Beyonces legacy will most likely be remembered for her ability transform herself and have an incredibly long lasting career. She will be remembered as an artist who was intimidating, fierce, and powerful. She will be remembered as an artist who could take her heavy emotions/emotional turmoils and turn them into art. She’ll be remembered as someone who was controversial to others, a lot believing that she was some sort of demon or witch because of her seemingly inhuman skills. Whether that’s with her music or live performances. Overall she will be remembered as someone who transformed not only herself but the music industry 👑

Fandom: @shepherds-of-haven ! A little drabble of my MC who I have grown unexpectedly attached to and now she dances around in my head all of the time

Characters: Trouble/OC

Notes: 1.6k, angst, depressing introspection, the world's most OVERDRAMATIC girl has the most OVERDRAMATIC kiss

Summary: Lark has decided that the best course of action is to go on the mission alone, even if fatality is certain. She plans to leave in the middle of the night when nobody can stop her, but first there are some feelings she needs to put to rest.

Even if the trip from her room to Trouble's was familiar, Lark couldn't help but slow her steps as reticence pulled against her on every step. The magelights lining the hallway, for once, didn't seem as warm and homey as before - instead, Lark could only focus on that one spot of darkness between each fixture. It didn't matter how far the warm light stretched; the shadows always made their way to her.

She stopped just outside the door to Trouble's room, standing perfectly still and taking a deep breath. In the stillness, time didn't exist to her. Lark could pretend that she wasn't heading off to her final battle, a one-woman army marching straight into extinction. Maybe this was the battle she was created for - or maybe she was damning everyone by throwing herself away when she knew her reality couldn't be remade. Either way, the thought hollowed out her body and filled it with ice, the way she had been before. Somehow, Lark always knew she was going to die alone. At least this way, she could save anybody that she had tricked into caring for her from riding straight into the maws of death for her sake.

Lark had made peace with it, as much as she could. Her time in the Shepherds had reminded her all too well how to want to live, but blind hope wasn't something she had been able to afford for a while. This was her last stand, and she could accept that. It was bound to happen eventually in this line of work. There was just one thing she needed to do - one box left to check - before she could leave her loose ends in the hands of others.

Finally composed, Lark turned and knocked on the solid door, each in rapid succession of the last. Her heart thundered in her chest, pounding against her ribcage and rising into her throat with every beat. Her mouth went dry, though she couldn't figure out exactly why. She heard a soft shuffling on the other side of the door and forced herself to swallow, determined to keep up with her own façade.

Trouble opened the door, more alert than Lark had expected, and gave her a friendly once-over. Despite not being bleary-eyed and half asleep, he still blinked a few times as if to make sure it was Lark in front of him. Easily, he smiled at her, unsuccessful in keeping his gaze covert as it lingered on her untied hair. During the day, Lark kept it in two braids circled around her head and pinned closely to her skull. She only ever kept her hair down when she was sleeping, and the few times Trouble had seen it, he'd been silently fascinated. Without fail, the attention would send a wave of excitement through her body, but now her apprehension was too strong for even that to shine through. Still, she smiled back at him.

"What're you doing here, Birdie?" Trouble asked, leaning casually against the doorframe. He only stood there for a moment before hurrying to make room for Lark. "Oh, I mean, you're welcome to come in. If you want."

Lark shook her head. "No, that's alright. I just needed to tell you something important."

Though he kept the mood light, Lark noticed how Trouble's face immediately softened. She noticed that when he was happy to see her - so, normally - his eyes seemed to sparkle as if the golden rings around his pupils were pure ore. Now, everything was warm seawater and honey. "Of course. You can tell me anything."

Lark's heart stopped beating, only to grow so quickly she thought it might burst out of her chest. God, she wanted to stay. An overwhelming affection flooded her senses, choking her up and forcing her feelings to well behind her eyes. Lark gripped at her nightshirt, trying to blink away the tears before they became too obvious. She thought heartbreak was supposed to be a shattering of glass as someone tossed her heart aside; maybe it could be your own heart tearing at the seams and spilling out all the love you were foolish enough to hide, too.

"Well, I have to tell you the second half later." At the end of her sentence, her voice trembled, and she covered it up with a shaky laugh. Trouble didn't seem to notice.

"Alright, then what's the first half?"

A beat of silence passed.

Then another.

Lark wasn't normally the type to be at a loss for words. She never felt comfortable unless she had a plan at hand to lie her way out of - or into - a situation. But Trouble made her honest, and the truth didn't seem survivable in that moment. Not if it was to be spoken aloud in a voice that would hurt Trouble the most.

So she stepped forward instead, brought her hands to his face, and pulled him down to her height so she could kiss him.

For a brief, terrifying second, Trouble went entirely rigid. Lark couldn't tell if he was staring at her, bewildered, or if his brow was furrowed as he tried to figure out how he got in that position. It didn't matter, because both were endearing, and neither would have stayed for long. His surprise melted away and his arms wrapped around her back, holding her close against his body. Lark almost sagged in relief.

Beneath her gentle hands, she felt his face gradually warm, certainly a few shades darker than before. In fact, she could feel his warmth all over, radiating from him and almost burning where their skin touched. In this moment, she could have anything she wanted, and she could delude herself into thinking it would last. In this moment, Lark was safe. Loved.

She wasn't ready for Trouble to pull away, yet he did. It was only an inch, and the many questions he undoubtedly had died on his tongue, but she could feel it. The ground was fracturing beneath her, and reality was swallowing her whole. Lark could only think of two things, and their certainty dug into her like claws: she loved him, and she was going to die.

So, even if it was selfish, she pressed her lips against his again, desperate and rough and scared. This kind of emotion, passionate and raw, was more up Trouble's alley. He kept her ferocity, yet held her with the care he'd give glass, like she was to be wrapped up and kept safe forever. Maybe he should've. Or maybe he should have kissed her breathless. It would have been a far kinder fate - but her fate was never meant to be kind.

Lark hoped that he could tell in the way she held his face, in the ease with which she leaned into him. If she was worth protecting, he was worth cherishing, and even if she never said it she hoped he knew. Trouble was always dense, but he had his moments. Now that she realized simply wanting him wasn't enough, had never been enough, there was nothing she could do but hope he was getting it now, and ignore her desire to stay ripping through her soul.

When they parted for a second time, neither of them said anything as they tried to catch their breath. Lark kept her lips parted, knowing that if she closed them it would be too obvious that she was trembling. Trouble didn't realize it,but even through his crimson fluster he was positively giddy. It was almost enough to convince Lark to stay.

But that was dangerous thinking. So she slowly untangled herself from him, her fingertips trailing down his shoulders and to his arms until there was nowhere left untouched. As he sorted his thoughts, Trouble's arms fell slack to his sides, a metal filament falling when the magnet attracting it moved away. Lark bit her tongue.

"So, uh…what does…this mean?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck if only for something to do. Bashfulness wasn’t something Trouble was well acquainted with, yet he couldn’t look Lark in the eyes all the same.

“That’s the second half,” She answered quietly. “I’ll have to tell you later.”

Trouble narrowed his eyes in the way he did when he knew Lark was keeping something from him. Void of any heat or anger, it was more of a way to make her feel guilty than get her to actually admit anything. But he let it go. This was something they had been dancing around for a long time; a little while longer wouldn’t hurt.

Clearing her throat, Lark reluctantly backed away from Trouble and towards the door, keeping her eyes on him. It was difficult to swallow and even harder to breathe, yet she twisted the handle anyway. The hallway air rushed in, cold enough to send goosebumps down her arm. The moment she left this room, it’d be the beginning of the end.

Just before she turned around completely, Trouble interrupted her. Looking at him over her shoulder, Lark could tell that he was worried about her. “You can stay, if you want. You’ve done it before.”

An arrow of regret shot through her chest. “No thanks. I need some time to calm down.”

Trouble chuckled at that, muttering something small and proud about the effect he seemed to have on her. Then, lifting his head, he nodded once and let Lark take two steps backwards, his gaze undeniably fond. “I’ll collect you tomorrow, then. We can go to breakfast together.”

Lark nodded once, firmly, and put on her best, brightest smile. “I’d like that.”

It wasn’t a lie, not entirely. She would like that.

If only she’d be alive to do it.
