Your friends are likely very generous, creative, and help you develop a lot in life and/or as a person. Since the Sun rules over leadership you’re prone to being the “leader” in your friend groups. People with this placement are also more likely have to friends that are celebrities. It’s possible you weirdly attract a lot of friends similar to your father. At worst it could indicate having egotistical friends, friends that are attention-seeking and choose attention over you, or friends that are overly prideful

✧. ┊Moon in the 11th house: You have friends that are very caring of you and your feelings. You likely have more friends that are girls or feminine than friends that are guys or masculine. It’s possible you weirdly attract a lot of friends similar to your mother. Your friends can pick up on your emotions really quickly and know when you’re feeling down. You could have a few childhood friends that you’ve kept your whole life. At worst your friends will constantly hold you back by keeping you in your comfort zone, be overly sensitive, and/or complain a lot about their feelings without listening to yours

Although you may have minimal friends since Saturn rules over restriction/lack, the friends you do make you will keep for a long time since Saturn also rules over old age/longevity. It’s possible you weirdly attract a lot of friends similar to your father. You also attract friends that are responsible, hard-working, consistent, and/or self-disciplined. At worst you may struggle with forming friendships because this placement can cause people to be weirdly intimated by you, you may attract friends that show a lack of care for your emotions, and/or friends that hold harsh grudges against you

Astrology observations #2

This is for fun, they are just my personal observations :)

♦️ Capricorn Venus might be attracted to people with good social status like doctors/lawyers, social success might be a turn-on for them. They value stability and financial success.

♦️Virgo venus is the venus sign most likely to have cosmetic procedures done as they project their perfectionism on their appearance and aesthetic. They want to (and often do) look perfect.

♦️Mars in 1st house might come across as agressive or intimidating. They might not look very approachable. They could have a strong body and look athletic regardless of their exercise routine.

♦️Mars in scorpio: I know only two people in my close circle with this placement and they both have dark circles under their eyes. Even when they are not tired. It gives them a penetrating and intense look.

♦️Sun conjunct/square Saturn natives might have a harder time expressing their core personality in the first years of their life. They might feel restricted in their self-expression and might show their sun sign only with people they truly feel comfortable with.

♦️Moon conjunct/trine/sextile Mercury can easily express their emotions and feelings. Especially by writing, they find the perfect words to express how they feel. They could write amazing love letters ❤️

♦️Mars conjunct/square/opposite Uranus often love speed. These aspects are very common in Formula 1 drivers and motoGP racers. These people love to take risks and live for the adrenaline. DISCLAIMER- Placements will not play out the same way for everyone and having challenging placements + aspects does not mean that you are a bad person or that you will have a bad life. Take what resonates and leave what doesn’t

-people with favorable aspects between mercury and the moon always seem to know exactly what to say to make you feel better on a rough day.

-Cancer mercuries can be catty and will use your insecurities, your trauma, and your darkest secrets to verbally destroy you. That’s that crab pinch 🦀

-Gemini placements aren’t two-faced, they just know how to tweak parts of their personality to fit that of whoever they’re talking to. I call that being adaptable

-people with Saturn in the 1st house may not be known for having a generally youthful appearance, but they grow into their features so well and tend to age beautifully. The same can be said about Capricorn ascendants

-i would compare having an earth sun with a fire moon to constantly trying to stop an unruly pet or child from going psycho and wreaking havoc. For those people much of their energy goes into trying not to lose their shit

-friendship breakups are just as, if not more heartbreaking than romantic breakups for someone with the moon in the 11th house. They take it very personally when their friends don’t put in as much energy in the friendship as they do

People, even if they just meet them, tend to quickly feel confident with these natives, even going so far as to tell them private things shortly after meeting them. With this placement of the Moon, the native has the ability to be popular, to win the affection of people and to attract friends who give him unconditional support. Now that I mention the word friendship, these natives are great people to have by your side, because the loyalty, affection and reassurance they are able to give are unique. They are genuinely happy for the achievements and happiness of their friends and it is very important to them that they feel comfortable emotionally and to show themselves as they are. MOON IN THE 9TH HOUSE:

This can be a quite favorable position for Moon if aspects allow. Sure, it’s not the most romantic house, but it’s easy to build love in a general sense. The Moon person may easily admire the House persons beliefs whether that be religious, philosophical or societal. It can be easy relate to the House person and it may feel like they could never grow tired of them as their curiosity is piqued. This feels mutual as the House persons beliefs could literally be “expanded” by the Moon person. It can be quite spiritual in a way that is different than the 12th house. Where the 12th adds an enchanting fog, the 9th house illuminates. The Moon person may feel more carefree or spontaneous around the 9th House person which makes it easy for the 9th house person to relax. They may revel in traveling with each other and the fact they have a side-kick. Depending on the sign at play here will shed light on these activities. A Scorpio 9th house could be the type of couple who venture into abandoned carnivals or underground stations. This is the couple you see at the beginning of the horror film embarking on a journey into an old psych ward.

It’s possible the two will have a long distance relationship at some point. Whether that be meeting online or due to other circumstances.

If negatively aspected, this could show that instead of the influence of “expanding” beliefs it can pull them inward. The Moon person may not feel completely understood by the House person on 9th house traditional values. They could clash a lot when trying to make plans or misunderstand each other on fundamental things. Both may feel misunderstood in some way. In the sign of Virgo it could be problems with things pertaining to modesty, productivity or detail. Maybe the two of them get partnered to do a presentation and have very different ideas on how it gets done.

MOON IN THE 10TH HOUSE:

Moon in this house can be pretty earthy and self-esteem boosting if aspects allow, of course. The Moon person could be attracted to the image, ambitions, or social standing of the House person. It’s likely they represent what feels most familiar for them emotionally in those matters. The Moon person could feel more confident around the 10th house person and love talking to them about work related things. The two could make incredible business partners and tactfully put the necessary effort in to achieve those goals. The Moon person’s insecurities surrounding ambitions or image can be smoothed over by the House person, and make them think they can accomplish anything if they put the hard work into it. They may view their emotions in a more logical and rational sense when around the House person. At its best the two could climb the ladder together and coin the expression “two minds are better than one” and “business and pleasure”

The Moon person in some way views the House person to have some type of authority. That could be from how the House person carries themselves, social class, or in a more literal sense they could be the Moon person’s boss.

In a negative manifestation, we see a couple who could be going in two entirely separate ways. The Moon person may not feel encouraged to go after what they want especially if Moon is negatively aspecting Pluto/Saturn. If the Moon person has a bad relationship with the father figure in their life it could feel like the House person mirrors that. If it negatively aspects Neptune it could point to one of the parties feeling scammed or taken advantage of. This relationship in a way has the potential to be pretty karmic. On the more extreme side of things they could alter the Moon persons public image, or make them give up on their career dreams. The House person may also feel like they’ve had to give something up pertaining to the sign + traditional 10th house meaning. Maybe they get a great job offer but the Moon person convinces them it’s better to stay where they are. This could be a “trophy wife” position and lacks emotional depth as they’re more concerned with the amount of power or looks the partner has which stunts emotional bonding.

MOON IN THE 11TH HOUSE:

“From friends to lovers” had to be said about a positive 11th house relationship. They’re likely to hit it off quickly and hangout with similar people. At the base of this relationship is a great friendship which is a very important aspect of a successful relationship. The Moon person may feel relaxed to express themselves around the House person. They could introduce them to new friends or ideas and get them out of their comfort zone. If romantic attraction is present it’s likely the Moon person will feel it first. The 11th house person fits their ideal in some way. This can be a slow burn romance where it takes time before it reaches fruition. Neither will have to pretend to be anyone but themselves which can feel gratifying. They won’t feel like they have to impress anyone with a grandiose personality, they can simply be.

The negative manifestation is either that the relationship is one-sided (romantically)or grows too complacent. Since this is a fixed house some level of stubbornness will have to be accounted for. But even then, the negative manifestation isn’t as bad because at its core the two still have a bond. If attraction exists there may be a deep fear of putting romance into the friendship incase the relationship doesn’t pan out. The Moon could have a hard time emotionally letting go as they feel they’ve lost a partner and a friend.

MOON IN THE 12TH HOUSE:

This is one of those positions that can go either suspiciously well or nauseatingly bad depending on aspects. On one hand the dreamy, mystic quality cant be denied. On the other hand, you may feel like you’ll never truly know the other person. If the 11th house is “friends to lovers” the 12th is “enemies to lovers.” If it’s a positive manifestation it’s likely to feel spiritual and meant to be. The two may be eerily in tune with each other and be able to read the other person with a look alone, especially if Moon conjuncts the ascendant. The subconscious will be a strong force in the relationship and a lot of the time it’ll be hard to explain to others simply because a lot of what happens between the two will be hard for them to understand themselves.

The Moon person could have a keen eye into the House persons problems and be the support they’ve always wanted. As usual when we’re speaking of the 12th house, it can be very healing and filled with whimsy. The twos familiarity with each other will feel otherworldly. It’s not the comfortability you get with the 4th house, it feels much more profound and at times unnatural.

The negative manifestation is a bit easier to pin point. A lot of the issues are built off a fundamental lack of trust in each other. The Moon person may feel as though the House person is hiding something. The House person may feel like a therapist at times juggling the emotions of the Moon. Both may view the other as a secret they’re this close to cracking. I have always envisioned this house as a beautiful ocean with a deep fog cast above it. Quite like the ocean, it can feel like you’ll never truly find out what’s all floating around in there. In the sign of Libra/Pisces this can intensify this effect due to the roundabout nature the Moon person will have with directly confronting problems. They may deeply want clarity but fear confrontation and enjoy the veil of happiness they’ve created. Another way this acts out is that the relationship in itself is a secret. Whether that be due to work reasons, family reasons, or one of the parties already being in a relationship. Like the 8th house, they may dream about each other often even if it doesn’t work out. The dreams can happen at random times, no matter how many years have passed, due to the ingrained nature the other has woven into their subconscious. This could also be an off and on relationship where both are inexplicably drawn to each other but part due to trust issues only to keep repeating the cycle as if fate demands it.

People with this placement have their emotional needs fulfilled through friends and community. They make for great companions as their capacity to care for others is immense. Their skills in empathy are highly evolved and they always have an ear to lend when someone is going through a hard time. Their wish to connect is incredibly important and they have an inner need to belong. They see people without prejudice and instead focus on shared goals and values. Moon eleventh housers know how to successfully gather a group of people, they are great at organizing events. They can also network with ease. These types are highly influenced by the people they surround themselves with. They should use precaution when deciding who belongs to them and who doesn’t. Belonging to the wrong crowd can make a Moon eleventh houser spiral downward rather quickly. However, it's the opposite when they belong to a successful, high achieving group of people. These types want to make important contributions to society. They believe in equal opportunity and are emotionally distressed when witnessing injustice. Seeing other people suffering affects the Moon eleventh houser greatly. They have a hard time being happy when thinking of the misfortune being faced by many, they will do anything they can to help. They also care a lot about the planet and understand how interconnected humanity is within the environment. They see it as one in the same, humans are animals and we have a specific place within the ecosystem. They do not want to harm the environment and are probably drawn to sustainable living. Oftentimes, these types are caught helping out a neighbor or being of service within the community. It is common to see them heavily involved within charities or organizations designed to benefit others. Moon eleventh housers are especially sensitive to feedback, they care a lot about what people think of them. Not in a superficial sense, but they are always making sure they are doing right by others. It is important for them to remember that everyone slips up now and again, it's okay to make mistakes within connections. If they unintentionally hurt someone, they will be distraught thinking that they might actually be a terrible person. They will go above and beyond to make things right, when sometimes that just isn't necessary. Their deep levels of compassion are shared with everyone, but it wouldn’t hurt if they turned some of that compassion unto themselves.

synastry case study #1: a lesson in moon signs, part one

A friend asked me for some thoughts on their synastry, so I figured I would post it here to share some synastry notes.

For the record, I use Placidus and Modern astrology.

The Big Three

Person #1: Taurus Sun, Cancer Moon, & Aquarius Rising

Person #2: Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon, & Leo Rising

Initially, it is easy to see why these two individuals would be drawn to one another. Not only do they share a moon sign but the moon sign is in Cancer. I tend to find that Cancer Moons are drawn to one another more than any other moon sign. For reference, this is a friends chart, and I also have a Cancer Moon-- we tend to cling to one another. Personally, I would blame it on the moons domicile in the sign. Cancer moons can experience erratic emotions and it often feels like only other Cancer placements understand.

Anyways, not only are the moon sign's matching, Person #2 also has a Cancer Sun, which is further going to emphasize the emotional understanding in this relationship indicating that emotions are central in this connection.

We can further see the attraction between the two through their sister-sign Risings. Both likely stand out in a crowd, but here is where the differentiation begins. The two are at odds in the way that they process emotions because their moons fall in opposite themed houses. Since the moons fall in opposite houses (natally), although they process emotions the same, the areas in which they place those emotions oppose and this creates a dynamic in which the individual's feel that their emotions and what they value are belittled.

Person #1 may have emotional ties related to their creative works, children, and are likely to place more value in the areas of their life that bring them joy-- this person likely goes to extreme lengths to avoid the things that make them uncomfortable. Unfortunately, Person #2 may see this as selfish-- Person #2's moon being in the 11th house shows that they place their value in the collective-- in fact with the 11th house stellium in Cancer, Person #2 is very likely to be a humanitarian type and they are further likely to always put their friends first (potentially even ahead of their lovers)-- and because they have such an emphasis on the collective-- they may perceive Person #1 as a bit selfish, and potentially even hedonistic.

Of course, this is not true (although it can be if Person #1 is unbalanced emotionally), but it is simply where Person #1 receives the most emotional satisfaction-- which again, directly opposes the area in which Person #2 receives emotional satisfaction. Therefore, even though they share the same moon sign, which would initially show a basic level of compatibility-- the house placements indicate an innate incompatibility. Because we must keep in mind that both of the moon signs are in Cancer, and it is incredibly difficult to get a Cancer moon to budge on their emotional values. And because the two feel the same type and amount of passion about these areas of life, it can be difficult to make the two merge because the areas of their emotional values differ so much.

All of this to say, when reading synastry-- we cannot solely read sign to sign, and we must understand these two as individuals. Seeing a couple with matching moon signs, or where the moon conjuncts the Sun, we are likely to say instantly that the two are compatible-- but once we look a bit further, we can see the reason why it is so difficult for there to be blanket rules in astrology.

I will do a part two of this where I'm going to make a note of a few other things that are standing out to me in this synastry, but if you read this far, I hope you enjoyed and learned something :).

Painful placements in astrology I

💜 Sun square/conjunct/opposite/inconjunct (quincunx) Pluto. Inconjunctions should be maximum 2/3 degrees. If I see this in a natal chart it would indicate to me that the native has had issues with their father or figures with authority in general. Could also be men in their family. I have also noticed the fathers side of the family were absent, early on they could have been separated. The separation could be due to many threats. If not cultivated well, this aspect is common amongst serial killers and people notorious for being bullies.

💙 Moon square/conjunct/opposite/inconjunct (quincunx) Pluto. Inconjunctions should be maximum 2/3 degrees. Now this would indicate a person who has issues with the mother figure in their family. This could also indicate issues with the women figures in their life. These people are also very distant with their mother’s side of the family. Like harsh Pluto and Sun, they were separated early on. Which again potentially could’ve been due to threats to their safety in general. If not cultivated well, this can lead to mental health issues, especially those relating to Pluto. Dark obsessions and desires etc.

💜 Having square placements to personal planets, this alone is very hard to deal with as there is strong friction no matter which side you look at. These people need to work on the aspect and appropriately release the energy, depending on the house, sign, and degree.

💙 Pluto in 12th. These individuals harbour a lot of their trauma in the subconscious. They have probably also seen some crazy things in the spirit world. It’s like they attract that sort of attention without really meaning to aswell. These individuals may also have very disturbing dreams and sleep paralysis.

💜 Saturn/Uranus/Chiron in 11th. This is a constant cycle of feeling alienated from society. These people may feel like they never found their group of friends. They crave for a home they’ve never had. These are also the type of people who have had friends make secret group chats behind their back and never include them. Just because Uranus is at home here, doesn’t make it any easier. This is also true if these placements are in Aquarius.

💙 Harsh Venus and Saturn aspect (square, opposition, inconjunction). Or Venus in Capricorn/aquarius. These people were made to feel unworthy of love and care when they were younger. There’s a constant battle between loving oneself and self destructive behaviours. There is an imbalance with their feminine side, due to masculine/ figures of authority, making them feel like they weren’t good enough.

💜 Harsh Moon and Venus aspects (square, opposition, inconjunction). Again made to feel like they weren’t pretty enough and probably dealt with a lot of toxicity from maternal figures. There is also an imbalance with their feminine side due to issues with women, and maternal figures. These people also a lot of the times refuse to acknowledge their emotions and bottle things up a lot.

💙 Having inconjunctions/quincunx aspects. They need to be at a maximum 2/3 degree orb. This is similar to opposition. But the difference here is that two signs that have no similarity are making a harsh aspect. There’s bound to be heat and constant internal conflict. This one is about learning to balance the scale of energies from both areas.

💜 8th house placements. These people are constantly undergoing transformations in their life. They can easily leave everyone on delivered for months and when they return, they are no longer the same person. Then the cycle repeats. There’s a lot of trauma in these people’s lives, and a lot of it comes from family. But they’re also naturally talented when it comes to things like the occult. This aspect is powerful for astrologers as it gives the native the talent to deeply study and observe people for long periods of time. This also includes psychology.

💙 Saturn opposite/square/inconjunct Pluto. Again inconjunctions should be maximum 2/3 degrees to be truly felt. This is more of a generational aspect (may reflect the society more so). These individuals dad could carry some sort of deep trauma. This is a pretty heavy energy so will require a lot of work for the generation that has this. In addition, the themes of the abuse they dealt with surround feeling restricted from expressing oneself in regards to what Pluto represents. They seem like the sheep or the scape goat of the family. Also if they have siblings that don’t have a similar aspect, if they make a mistake, the punishment they receive can be harsher than if their sibling was to make the same mistake. Their dad/ authority figures in their family can also be/ may have been involved in the dark side of structured systems and have a lot of experience and knowledge regarding the world from that.

I am not a professional astrologer, just based on my personal experience.

🍏 TAURUS MOONS have difficulty accepting changes, they can become defensive and even criticize before changing.

🍏 SCORPIO MARS natives, when they are angry, they do not explode at the moment, they manage to keep their anger and it accumulates like a snowball.

🍏 THE 11TH HOUSE is what I like to call the house of ego. Your favorite artists and songs live in this house.

If you have LEO in this house, you probably enjoy expressive and extravagant artists. Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, Gwen Stefani, Grace Jones and Lady Gaga.

This is also the house of social media, you most likely to follow influencers, models, musicians and makeup artists.

🍏 MARS IN THE 2ND HOUSE tends not to share their things. If they are eating and someone asks for a piece, they will probably say no, or maybe yes, depending on what sign they are in. But deep down they didn't want to share.

(It's not only strictly to food though, it could be clothes, money or objects. This does not mean that they are selfish, they are just more attached and careful with their things.)

🍏 3RD HOUSE VENUS natives loves writing, their minds can go to imaginable places. Words and inspirations sometimes arrive at less unexpected moments, they love to be inspired by relationships and personal traumas. I'm not surprised that Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks have this position.
