so murderbot assumes that three offered its armor because it doesn't understand that the armor can belong to it and thinks mb taking the armor is just good resource allocation.
but if it assumes it doesnt have control over the armor, it would probably let whoever it sees as in charge (maybe ART?) handle it, or at least make the suggestion directly to that person. even newly freed in NE, it's willing to give its security advice (on hostage situations being undesirable) even if it doesn't expect to be taken seriously. it doesn't make sense to me that it would have so much trouble expressing the offer if it were just a security suggestion.
and then i think about how murderbot says later in the book that even if three felt fondly toward its fellow SecUnits, the govmod would prevent it from expressing that care or knowing it was returned.
so-- imagine you're three, and you havent yet internalized that you can just say "i care about you and dont want you to get hurt" to another SecUnit; but you can make sure that it has every resource it might need; you could probably do that even before the govmod was hacked.
you can't explain why, but you can hope that the gesture is explanation enough, and you can look for similar caretaking gestures in return; things like being given code and advice to do your job better, and being reassured when you express that you're finding said job difficult.
i think *murderbot* isn't aware of this language of care, because it hasnt had much opportunity to bond with other constructs. but three probably is, and probably knows how to read between the lines and guess that murderbot is starting to care about it, too.

(SITS BOLT UPRIGHT)
THE WoL WENT THROUGH A REJOINING ON A PERSONAL SCALE
The Exarch explains the mechanics behind the Rejoinings. That the balance of Aether in the Source versus the Shards is tipped until the Source is strained to the breaking point, and at last fractures in the fabric of reality allow the properly aspected Shard to join with the Source to rebalance the scales. That the overwhelming aetheric shift from the Shard being absorbed - Rejoined - is what causes the Calamities, and why each has a given aetheric aspect.
The WoL has been absorbing all the Primordial Light of the Lightwardens, and after Innocence, Ryne says that not only the WoL's body is breaking down. Their soul is fracturing. She uses the Blessing of Light to quell it and hold them together as much as she can, but the damage hasn't been undone.
That takes Ardbert. The WoL's shard, at the last, sees the WoL breaking, and rushes to fill in the cracks. To restore balance. And yes, the Primordial Light is spent - needs to spent - in defeating Hades, but it's Ardbert rushing in to fill in the gaps left in the WoL that mends them.
Y'shtola and Ryne note, after the fight, that WoL is mended. They doesn't understand how it happened, though they're relieved.
The WoL is the microcosmos in the macrocosmos. Mended just as the Source is with every Rejoining. And the devastation wrought on Hades their personal calamity.
The WoL went through a rejoining so the Source didn't have to.

The victors are so clearly a risk looking back, but the capital was so devoted to the games they couldn’t even see the threat to themselves they were creating. A class of people that know both the districts and the capital. That have access to some of the wealthiest most powerful people. The victors who have extra reasons to hate the capital and are aloud to speak to each other every year. That has to be one of the very few ways districts can communicate at all. If they hadn’t made the games such a spectacle, if they’d kept it like before the 10th, or rid themselves of it entirely, would the rebellion have ever happened?

gonna need to reread the comic again to be sure but now that I think about it maybe Jakes insecurities about his experience of and capability for romantic feeling are connected to his LE aesthetic and the hope wings marking him as a pseudo cherub. maybe

I wonder how much Lawrence's brutality and inhumanity in the last battle is because of what he experienced in Deraa-- he wants to kill the specific Turk who did this to him; he sees him in every Turk, even the noncombatants. (In a way... bc he can never get to him, he is never satiated-- the right one is somewhere else) To do so is to not just get revenge but to escape the pain and helplessness he felt. Become poweful enough to crush the one who tried to crush him (nearly succeeded or...? -- did succeed in a way, bc succeeded in changing him. Or perhaps a kind of catalyst; the tendencies were always there. Wouldn't necessarily have happened though, if he hadn't been tortured and raped.... this would change anyone.)

People like to hate on Mikasa because "she's boring" or "she has no personality" but honestly? I think that it's a very realistic way that someone would turn out when put in her shoes
She watched her parents get murdered right in front of her, and had to stab her attacker to death just to escape when she was just a child. The person who saved her ends up adopting her into his family, and then a few short years later, basically the same thing happens; her new home is destroyed and Eren's mother is eaten right in front of her. Now the only family she has left is Eren, so of course she's gonna not care about anything but protecting him
Then she finally finds out the truth of the walls, and that basically everything she knew about the world was wrong. The only constant she has is that she can still protect Eren and the rest of her friends
For eight long years she's been surrounded by death and uncertianty and that's been the one constant. But then even Eren starts to go off the deep end. He abandons his friends, and starts to get new ideas planted in his head by Zeke, Yelena, and who knows who else, and when he comes back he doesn't even feel like the same person. And when she finally gets the chance to talk with him what does he say? "You've never had any free will of your own, and for that I hate you." It sounds impossible, but she starts to believe it, perhaps this is why she's been so protective of him, perhaps this is why he's been acting so unpredictably
And of course this takes a toll on her. She can still protect her friends in a fight, but when it's time to speak her mind or make the tough decision to choose her own path, what can she even say? The one constant in her life seems to be gone, and she can't even trust her own instincts or thoughts anymore
It's sad to see her like this, but yeah, in that situation I think anyone is gonna be quiet and indecisive

I'd love to see a dpxdc story where the Justice League knows about Amity Park and the Ghosts the whole time, and does think the ghosts are rogues to be addressed. Doesn't agree with the GIW, maybe doesn't even know about them? THE IMPORTANT PART.
The Red Huntress is the only active vigilante in Amity Park, according to the JL. Phantom is marked as one of her rogues. Maybe the Fentons even are marked as rogues from all the property damages and random shooting/sliming of citizens. Valarie is the only person successfully taking care of the ghosts, masking and suiting up in the classic vigilante way the whole time.

Prompt:
Tim is the first to find out the Red Hood’s identity and from then on sticks to Jason during patrol like glue (much to Jason’s chagrin, dammit, it would feel wrong to beat up Robin when he’s that starry eyed…)
Cue: PANIC from the rest of the Batfamily, who still think Hood is a forty-something year old crime lord and now assume they’re dating.

someone probably said this already but in spiderverse i think it's interesting how when pavitr was first introduced everyone thought something bad was gonna happen to him bc of how confident and optimistic he was. and then in the actual movie we see that something bad was supposed to happen to him (police chief dying!) but it doesn't! miles stops it! and miguel berates miles for this, says it's going to cause the universe to collapse or whatever.
there's this idea that tragedy is inherent to spidermans growth, and while it's true that some spiderpeople learn important lessons through loss, no one stops to ask, is it really necessary? yeah, maybe the chief was supposed to die. but why does spiderman have to be formed through tragedy? why do we (as heroes) have to let people die? pavitr didn't lose anyone, and he's still a good spiderman! maybe, if he doesn't suffer, he'll end up better off for it!
so while miguel is arguing for all this big picture stuff about saving the multiverse he's lost sight of what it really means to be a spiderman, he's not looking out for the real individual people. yeah it's just one person who would die, but that one person means something to someone. shrugging and saying "stuff just sucks sometimes, we can't do anything about it" is the opposite of what superheroes do. pretty obviously, miles arc is also a reflection of the struggles people face in real life, working within unequal systems, where it's easy to shrug and say "that's just the way it is" and not ask "but why does it need be this way? can't we do something about it?"
miguel is arguing that you can't have your cake and eat it too. presumably, miles and co. are going to find a way to get around that and change things for the better (and maybe that's why miles has that line about two cakes in the advisors office!)

I have not been following western media at all for the past couple of days but I want to know how they have reported about the freed Israel hostage who said that she was treated well with her needs met and literally even turned back to shake hands and say Shalom to those who were releasing her. Was this shown and hyped up on TV channels and news websites? Was her release video played everywhere?
I only saw a clip of Sky News (Australia I think) where they started showing her speaking to the media and immediately cut it off when she started speaking positively...
Oh and what about another Israeli who was talking about how it was their own military who had actually attacked its own people?
I always ask and look for news and updates directly from Israel like we get it from Gaza. If you search for the Tel Aviv geotag on Instagram, it's mostly people chilling in Israel or some pro-Palestine accounts. Is there a possibility that Israel stops their own people from speaking up?
I know western media loves to cherry pick things to show to curate the image that Israel and the US wants them to curate but surely they cannot omit these things.
Here's a random post I just found, adding it here for now

I love this gay ass show with its literally life ending injuries that heal immediately, but only when convenient to the plot, and its ridiculous use of modern phrases, and its laughing in the face of historical accuracy, and its kissing the face of the fans instead of trying to outwit them, and the way everyone involved in the show seem to go 'I KNOW RIGHT! I'M EXCITED TOO!' instead of mocking the fans
