What frustrates me the most about liking the fallout games and elder scrolls games (I still need to play more of them and there are CERTAINLY exceptions) is that i don’t actually know what it is exactly that i like about them. People will be like “Bethesda games suck” and I’m not going to disagree that having mammoths fall from the sky and my gun sink into the floor forever is good game mechanics, that it’s a work of art in the coding department, but i don’t know what it is that makes me love the experience of playing them. People will be like “oh, you like that thing? Try this” and what they suggest isn’t bad, but it doesn’t have the same, idk, combination of things? I just wish I knew what the exact combo was so I could look for more of those things. I can’t put my finger on it and I’m not sure I can find the same combination of those things anywhere else. I don’t really care that the fighting isn’t super dramatic every time, hitting things and blowing things up is fun by itself to me, i don’t need a work of art there. I like the characters and the way you can just go do shit, especially when you don’t have a super pressing timeline. I can build a house before stopping the end of the world in Skyrim (multiple times) and it doesn’t actually make the time more stressful. If I want to take it super seriously I can try and grind through the main plot and after that I’ll still have a bunch of stuff to do! And the things I do will affect other things, but in a certain way I can’t explain? I can’t put into words. I know that they aren’t the finest masterpieces and I’m sure that there are games with things i like about these games but done better, but do they have the combination? The one I can’t put my finger on? Probably not. I play games to have fun and there is so much fucking around I can do! There are little details in the environment, little things to npcs. There are certainly things that left me unsatisfied, but there is also a bunch of things that do? I’ll admit to not playing their newer stuff though. I’ll consider eso but my brothers have already tried some of their other new stuff and left me with some not great reviews. I kinda wish people would stop trying to recommend me games because “oh, you like that part of that game? Here is one that is so much better. You’ll see how terrible the one you’re playing is” because I’m playing the terrible one for a reason. I like it, even knowing it’s not the best, and i would love to see more games that do that thing, but if you are recommending them because they are “better works of art” or “better mechanically” are you also recommending them because they are fun? That’s why I play games. I have my limits, and I respect other people who play games for the sake of the art form alone, but sometimes terrible or just okay is fun too, sometimes with less stress, and fun can keep me occupied for hours. I’m not saying I never play a game for a story, without much of one I often do get bored. I wouldn’t play the ace attorney series if I didn’t like stories too, but i loooove sandboxes and i can’t put my finger on why i like those Bethesda sandboxes so much. It’s infuriating because I really do want to find more stuff that scratches that specific itch, but the vibes are never quite there. I don’t expect the exact same thing, but I do want to try more of that sort of thing, yet I can’t put my finger on what it is about the thing that I need to look for! Very frustrating.
I like lore and environmental storytelling and interesting npcs and sandbox games, i don’t enjoy super complicated combat because i am stupid. I like being able to pick and choose things and seeing one thing affect another but not needing to do things in a specific order. Is that all? I don’t feel like it. There is something more and I can’t put my finger on it. There are obviously games I play that do not check off every single box of mine, look at the ace attorney series! But those ones don’t really take as much of my time. Once you finish the story you just kinda, leave it for awhile. You’re done. You might go back later, but probably not right away. With the games like Skyrim and fallout I can just come back after a busy day and do random low stress tasks and activities, or I could go hard at it for a bit, either way I have fun. I don’t know how to replicate that. I also like when they add some elements like the sims. I know some people hate it, but it gives me even more shit to do, and I can have a part of the map that feels like “this is MINE!” and I can leave my stuff (and some npcs) there and feel like I’m not just shoving it wherever. Sure, you get beds when you join certain groups, but in Skyrim and fallout 4 you can have your own space. If i don’t want to go on some adventure after a long day I can just garden or something, even when it’s winter irl! (Although the gardening isn’t like irl gardening, it still feels better than nothing). I know a lot of people hate how they put certain things I listed into a game that is “supposed to be about the story, or fighting” but i like the eclectic combination of activities, and i feel like they manage to do it without the things feeling like a completely separate game. It still feels tied in, unlike some games where it feels like they just shoved it into the game on the side without any connection I guess. I’m not explaining this well and I’m sure there are people who absolutely hate the things I listed, but there are plenty of games without them, I’m trying to find more with them.
And it has to have interesting npcs, even just mildly interesting ones that you can fill in the blanks for in your boredom. I can’t stand the feeling of being in a completely empty world (with the possible exception of Pokémon go, but they have added so much stuff that it feels parallel to the real world, not completely separate and empty) although, when it comes to Pokémon go, I actually did stop playing for awhile because it felt so empty, now you can at least interact with other players a bit more (even if I’m not great at finding others to play with) and they have added more npcs. I play that game so i don’t get bored at the grocery store and can convince myself to go out and walk around sometimes, so it’s not the same. Idk what I actually really want from a game, I can’t put my finger on it.

Cincy_News: When Bengals QB was asked by reporters during the press conference about what are his plans for the off-season, Joe Burrow answered that it’s still going to be some time before he’s able to test the ability of his right wrist.
But for right now he said that he’ll be enjoying the beginning of the off-season after the rough few months out of Ohio, spending quality time with the most important person in his life… then when he returns back to Ohio, it’ll be time to start focusing on the 2024 football season.

Unintentional Comedy - Dragalia and Feh Artwork Edition
So, remember Alfonse, from FEH?
Y'know, this dude?
Tumblr media
For an okay crutch for those without Gala Euden or Albert or other handy light swords they didn't want to invest in, he was rather popular, only partly owed to any pre-established fondness FEH players had since they already knew him. People liked the more expanded personality we got than FEH's bare-bones story, additionally before they started trying to spice Alfonse up in more recent books.
In his story, however, one of the events that happening is Euden falling off a cliff, shortly followed by Alfonse.
Miraculously, cliff-falling isn't quite as dangerous in Dragalia Lost as in real life (also demonstrated by Leonidas in Stranded Scions, etc...), and the two survive. Alfonse has some sort of injury to his foot, however, conveniently hampering his ability to move but not much else.
Euden, being Euden and unwilling to throw anyone to the wolves, comes up with this idea:
Tumblr media
Nothing atypical here, right?
...Well, as it was revealed in a book published two years later than his debut in Dragalia, Fire Emblem Heroes Character Illustrations, Volume 1...
Alfonse is 180cm tall, AKA 5'11.
Tumblr media
...Is it any surprise coming from 195cm/6'5 and 180cm/5'11 parents? Someone check the Askran royal food for steroids that Sharena has apparently not been consuming, presumably because she's instead dining with heroes in the barracks.
I digress.
Now, as I've gone over before here, here's where it gets hilarious in retrospect.
In short, Ranzal, the resident big buff burly dude of Dragalia...is stated to be 6'1/185 in the joke comics.
Tumblr media
...And while literally nobody else got an even vaguely-official number to their height, Dragalia instead opting for a 'comparison heights' to keep track of who's shorter and who's taller in a pair... Euden often seems to wind up in the 150-155cm/5'0-5'1 range or even shorter when in illustrations with Ranzal:
Tumblr media
At most, I've seen him crack about 5'9/175cm in the comics, which aren't exactly a stable source of art, as demonstrated by these two panels, in which both seem to be on flat ground and standing pretty straight:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I need to stop before I mindlessly repeat the other post, but my point remains:
Euden, by most depictions, is tiny. A literal short prince/king.
And yet, no matter what way you slice it, he's trying to carry a dude that seems to be quite a bit taller, let's say. How much, we'll never know, but the fact remains he'd likely need to pull out a dragon phone to search 'how to carry people much taller than you?' just in case and hurriedly read a wikihow 10-step article explaining some strats, were it not for the fact that dragons would have destroyed smartphones in Dragalia a long time ago (good move, dragons....?).
I will admit that there are a few arts that frame them as the 'same height' but I would more point to the fact Euden, when drawn with crossover characters for promotional art, is usually portrayed on an 'equal footing', so as not to have one take up more space/attention. Also, the Feh team might not have even decided on a height for Alfy boy before!
Even then, he's still portrayed as shorter than 5'9/175cm Joker in some art:
Tumblr media
So yeah. Crossover art is not exactly consistent, and all I can do is look to the general trend in the 'canon game' of him being absolutely dwarfed by Ranzal.
Now, it's one thing for Euden to be lugging about Alfonse for a while.
The idea he might have done so with such a potential height disparity is pure comedy.
No wonder he's so tired after a while, lugging about another human who is both taller, heavier, and also wearing armor!
Not only that, he later tries and partly succeeds in fighting heavily armored soldiers (who are admittedly aiming to capture him and kill Alfonse) with Alfonse 'draped across his back like a sack of potatoes'. Talk about determination, adrenaline, and/or the simple principle of 'small but mighty'!
Tumblr media
Maybe that's why Alfonse was saying "I don't think that's wise" at the start there before he quickly found other rationale besides 'you sure you can give a piggyback without my feet dragging along the ground the whole way?'
My case rests, Your Honor: they unintentionally made part four of Alfonse's personal story a lot funnier to envision by publishing an art book 2 years after he first existed in Dragalia Lost!

Hello. I am here to request a Yoru X male reader with Yoru acting cocky. I feel like we don’t get enough of that— writers often make him soft in fanfics, but I want to see him act shamelessly arrogant (and for good reason). The genre is up to you, but maybe some sort of action-packed/mid-fight scene would be good. Thank you for your time. :]
Mr. Arrogant
Tumblr media
Characters: Ryo "Yoru" Kiritani Type: Fluff?, Oneshot, Gn!reader
IM CRYING I PRACTIALLY HAD THIS DONE THEN A POWEROUTAGE HIT I know the request was for male!reader but I couldn't really find a spot to specify it im sorry >.< anyways reader's abilities are vaguely inspired by kiriko from overwatch
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
To say Yoru pissed you off would be an understatement. The self proclaimed 'lone wolf' of the protocol's cocky and arrogant personality made him insufferable to work with. By no means was he bad at what he does, but god was he annoying.
Especially as an agent with healing abilities. Despite his refusal to be a team player, he expects you to come help him at any beck and call. You do anyways because it's your job and, unlike him, you value teamwork. That doesn't make it any less irritating though.
Today had been like any other mission with Yoru. You holding down a site while he ran off to god knows where. The two of you were sent to check out lotus, making sure everything was in order. But what no one expected was for a full team of mirror agents to be there.
"A little help here, asshole!? They're all A!" you yell through comms, trying your best to hold down the fort on your own. Currently, you were cornered in tree where you had to watch for doors and the entrance to site. You huff in annoyance at his lack of a response, shooting your pistol while trying to keep the enemies at bay.
After a few moments you hear the faint sound of the rift walker ripping through the dimensional fabric. From what you could tell, he had probably teleported to drop. You finally made your way out of your hiding spot at the sound of 2 shots from his sheriff and 2 bodies of the omega earth agents hitting the ground.
"Surprise. Idiot."
From what you could tell, there were two sets of footsteps coming from main and another one from stairs. Yoru went to push main, paying no mind to you, fully confident in his ability to take each and every enemy out on his own. You roll your eyes at his behavior, waiting for the enemy who was at stairs to peek out, taking them down.
You snapped your head around to your companion at the sound of a pained grunt.
"Need healing!"
Despite his call out, he continued to push the two remaining enemies.
"I can't heal you if you keep moving, dumbass! Stay in my range!" You run after him, tossing one of your healing charms towards his feet.
"What? Can't keep up?"
You could practically hear the smirk on his face through this remark. The sound of gunshots ceased as Yoru took out the last of the mirror agents, finally standing still for you to run up to him.
After approaching him, you did a few hand signs before placing them on Yoru's shoulders with a soothing glow. You glance at his face to see him wearing a smug expression.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"What would you do without me? You were barely able to take one of them out on your own. Am I just that much better than you?"
Your eye twitched slightly as you removed your hands, ceasing your healing. Oh how he pissed you off.
"Oh? Did I ruffle a feather?" he says, smirk growing wider across his face.
Your feathers were in fact RUFFLED.
Without a word or a second thought, you punched the man in his shoulder before yanking him by his collar into a chaste kiss.
You pulled away and got a good look at his face. His cocky expression was now replaced with one of shock as his cheeks dusted a light shade of pink.
"Not so high and mighty now, are you Mr. Arrogant?"

What's your least favorite thing about bg3? Mine's the inventory system. 😒
Okay, side rant before I answer! 😆
I actually really like the inventory system, but I've heard a lot of people say they hate it because it's too open with very little direction, and I know that can be a nightmare for a lot of people. In fact, a good friend of mine nearly lost his mind over it, so I showed him how I organise things and he said it helped. Maybe my method can help other players, too.
When I start up a game, I take a companion's alchemy pouch and camp supply pack (usually Shadowheart's, because I use her the least) and add it to my Travellers Chest. If you don't want your companion to be without those items, don't worry. They'll either pick up new ones on their own or you'll find some extra ones you can give them later. Plus, they don't really need them. I never let my companions pick up food or ingredients, or really much of anything without sending it straight to me. Otherwise I know I'll forget they have it. I also add two additional backpacks to my Tav's inventory.
Tumblr media
Then, every three or four times I visit camp, I empty my alchemy pouch and camp supply pack into the ones I stored in the chest. Make sure you extract all of your ingredients before doing this (unless you're getting mushrooms of Omeluum, in which case make sure you give those to him before extracting any ingredients or they'll be destroyed, possibly locking you out of the quest). The moving process can be sped up by opening a pack and clicking "take all", then sorting your inventory by "latest". With the items now in your personal inventory, all you have to do is open the packs in the chest, hit "multiselect", and click each item one by one until you can store everything you desire. This sounds monotonous, I know, but it's honestly really fast, and you'll get into a habit if you do it enough times.
Tumblr media
Now, in addition to the alchemy pouch and camp supply pack, I also add two different style backpacks, a crude chest, a gilded chest, and a heavy chest to the traveller's chest. Since I bought the deluxe version of the game, I also have the peculiar clothing chest, but if you don't have one, I would suggest grabbing another gilded chest with a different design. Most of these things you can find on your way to or in the Grove, except the crude chest, which you can find in the goblin camp or in Auntie Ethel's teahouse. But you don't have to be insane like me, you can just use another heavy chest or whatever. I organise them like so: backpack 1—dyes, backpack 2—potions, crude chest—weapons, gilded chest—quest items, heavy chest—miscellaneous shit I can't bring my hoarder self to part with, peculiar clothing chest—clothing/kits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two backpacks I carry are used for scrolls and explosives/important items I can use to pass checks or teleport, etc. Arrows I usually split between Lae'zel, Karlach, and Astarion, since they have no magic abilities. Though when I played as a fighter, I also kept those with the explosives. That said, since I'm already giving advice, I highly, highly suggest you give most of your arrows to Karlach, as her blows don't seem to be quite as powerful as Lae'zel's, and Astarion can pull off some pretty hard-hitting ranged sneak attacks. I'd also suggest giving Astarion the Shadow of Menzoberranzan, a helmet you can find in the treasure room in the Myconid Colony. It's invisibility is a great boon to any of his rogue builds.
Tumblr media
Other than that, the only items that go directly into my traveller's chest are the big boy explosives (barrels, Wulbren's bomb, etc.) since they're too heavy and I usually send them straight there from the wild. I also put Dribbles' body parts in there, because they're annoying and I hate them, but they don't stay for very long.
As for my least favourite aspect of BG3, I'd say it's the companion management, but it looks like they fixed it with the latest patch! I loathed having to manually dismiss everyone just to swap them out with someone else, then run to that person's tent to add them to my party. I also hated having to add a companion to my party just so I could give them a ring or piece of armour. I'm so glad they fixed it. Thank you, Larian! ❤

I think Tumblr needs to know about my dumbass Poppy Playtime AU I literally JUST made today so uhm... Here's the AU I've been hyperfixating on-
More information under the cut!
This is the first half of the Smiling Critters references (I loved making their designs omg)
Tumblr media
Basically to summarize why they are a significant part in this AU:
This is an AU where the Smiling Critters survive, using anything and everything they can to continue to do so. It's a small resistance group (hence the AU name, "RESISTANCE") trying to fight against The Prototype! They still have their dynamics and everything else but they have more freedom to express themselves (hence, the clothes and accessories. And how Kickin' Chicken is wearing two bandana's because yes, he is extra.) AFTER the events of The Hour of Joy. By that time they were like what? 1st-2nd graders considering the experiments that were done? Now they are more like teenagers in this AU since I still follow the plot-line of the actual Poppy Playtime story taking place 10 years later-.
As for how the group works, everybody has their own little role and is in charge of something, they aren't made useless as it is a group based off of teamwork and friendship (despite the casualties.) Here's some of the roles they fall into:
(IF I SEE ANYBODY SEXUALIZE THESE CHARACTERS ISTG. THATS ICKY AND GROSS and I will make sure you get smited by lightning, because even if these guys are aged up THEY ARE STILL MINORS!!!)
Kickin Chicken: The vice president if you will, the leaders right hand man. (Because Dogday is the leader.) He's kind of full of himself but the confidence and pep talks help the team keep motivated, even if he is a bit self-centered
Bobby Bearhug: Assistant to Kickin Chicken (although they have a rivalry.) and also the medic. Is also the one who helps Dogday with anything considering in this AU he still has half of him torn off. (More on Dogday in his own section sometime later)
Hoppy Hopscotch: Basically explores the facility in any area at any time to gather new information on ways to try and get out (all of them are actively looking to escape btw!)
Craftycorn: Maps out stuff (maps, plans, other things) using her drawing abilities, although she also acts as the therapist friend because her art is soothing to others.
Bubba Bubbaphant: THE LITERAL. EMBODIMENT. OF. THE NERD EMOJI. He is a actual know-it-all which can come in handy but that makes him seem like a dick sometimes because of his knowledge.
Picky Piggy: I don't really have anything important to add to her, since I want to keep some of her lore a secret [might be revealed through the ask page I just set up for the AU on my page] HOWEVER she is the chef of the group and is literally the only one that can cook, if anybody else tried they'd all get food poisoning LMAO.
Here's some extra things in this AU that won't go in my other posts about this AU (maybe):
(So take notes if you want.)
- Catnap is redeemed, but it takes a VERY long time for him to get out of "old habits" as I'm going to word it. (Without spoiling too much of what I have planned.)
- I don't know what to plan for The Prototype yet but I'm talking with a couple of my mutuals on discord so maybe I'll figure it out eventually
- Dogday can normally stand and do other things because of the belts he has, however he can't put them on for too long (for like at max, more than 4 hours a day.) because they will wear into the plush, and he needs to put the belts on tight or they will come loose. He only uses such method when the group goes to hunt for food or similar activities, otherwise, he just uses a wheelchair when in the groups safe environment (the Playhouse!)
- This is going to be a shock to some people, but there is NO player character in this AU, not only is this a what if the Smiling Critters survived, but it's also a what if the player character never returned to Playtime Co.! This does come with some issues, like on how the asks are going to work, but trust me, I got everything taken care of when it comes to that!
- There also isn't really any shipping in this AU at all, I'm focusing on the story/friendship dynamics more than that, so if somehow you were looking for Dogday X Catnap this is, unfortunately not the place for that.
- This AU also has the personal interpretation of Dogday being part of the experiments some of the orphanage kids faced, as I don't really vibe with the idea that Dogday might be a Playtime Co. worker??? I don't know, I'm sticking with my idea for now but I will be keeping a close eye on canon if anything confirms or denies it, and I may adjust the AU accordingly if that's the case.
- Future posts may or may not contain other Poppy Playtime characters but the main focus is the Smiling Critters and The Prototype.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
References of Dogday and Catnap are already done but I may wait a bit on Tumblr to see how well this AU is being received :)
(I spent 6 hours on all references in total 😭😭😭)

Alright, Elder Tenno, tell me what I'm doing wrong here.
I've been trying to figure out how to mod my gear properly for Steel Path, and I'm more than a little lost- especially with Volt.
I've cleared, what, two nodes of SP? Both of them were with a Kullervo, and both times I barely managed to complete the mission.
Also, nine times out of ten, I do Steel Path alone- which probably isn't helping my situation very much.
I really don't know how to progress with SP without leeching off of another player doing it for me, and I want to try to be self-sufficient. I'd love any kind of guidance you can offer.
Mods, goals, and current strategies under the cut.
Set A: Stunner Volt (Nataruk, Despair, Sun & Moon)
Tumblr media
I would love to take Volt on SP- but it feels like the more I tinker with his mods, the more fragile he becomes. Hell, recently I've entered bleedout from level 30-40 enemies.
I primarily use his 1 to soften enemies up, while I close the gap and finish them off with melee. It's probably the ability I use most on him. 2 and 4 are my desperation abilities- either for when I need to get out of a situation quickly, or for stunning a large amount of enemies for an extended period of time.
Criminally, I forget his 3 exists a lot, outside of picking off Teralysts. It feels like outside of the free roam areas, it takes too long to make the shield and pick it up.
Ideally, I'd like to focus on enhancing his 1, maybe his 4. I haven't seen a ton of guidance on how to mod a Volt for anything but Eidolon Hunting, so I tried to focus on critical chance, always having energy, and armor, forgoing shields.
With him and Sun & Moon, I tend to try to lean towards attack speed. I like the feel and speed of dual nikanas. On SP, I feel like he'd be a "Kill them before they kill you" sort of frame in my hands.
Set B: Critical Chance Kullervo (Nataruk, Despair, Paracesis)
Tumblr media
Kullervo has been my lifeline through the star chart. I often joke that if Volt is "Please", Kullervo is my "I'm not asking". He's the only frame I've cleared a Steel Path node with. I can typically handle level 80-90 enemies with him. Some 90-100 Veil Proxima nodes are tricky, but doable.
His 1 and 2 are what I mostly use- dancing between dealing as much damage as possible, then healing with Recompense. If I need breathing room, I can throw his 4 up pretty easily to pick off enemies while I heal.
Much like Volt, I do tend to forget to use his 3- although that's changing with practice. The large number of enemies in Steel Path that I've seen makes me think that mastering his 3 will be critical to being able to clear nodes with him.
I pair him up with Paracesis typically, considering that it's my best heavy blade- and with his passive, he's practically made for heavy blades.
Of course, critical chance and damage are at the forefront of my mind when thinking about how to improve Kullervo. Being able to use Wrathful Advance as much as possible, alongside Collective Curse is what I'm guessing will be the strategy for Steel Path Kullervo.
that being said i still don't know how the melee combo counter works and i've heard it's important, especially with this frame
Maybe swapping Nataruk out for Rauta is a good idea?
Also, I should probably get an Aura Forma so I can give him Steel Charge instead of Energy Siphon.
Weapon Mods
(Please note that I haven't modded any of these for a specific faction. I do have Primed Bane of Corpus, but no other prime anti-faction mods. I understand that anti-faction mods and modding for factions is practically required for SP, I'm just either waiting on Baro for mods, or have accidentally overriden faction-specific loadouts and just never bothered to fix them.)
Volt's Sun & Moon
Tumblr media
Kullervo's Paracesis
Tumblr media
Despair
(I haven't even put a reactor on it yet. I very, very rarely use my secondary.)
Tumblr media
Nataruk
Tumblr media
The Panzer Vulpaphyla is my companion of choice for difficult levels, mostly because it's immortal and I don't have to worry about reviving it every other minute. I have no idea how to make it useful, but here's its' mods anyways.
Tumblr media
In Closing:
Overall, I'd like to focus on what mods could improve, and what subsumed abilities, or archon shards I could add to make these two stronger. (Although I'm heavily biased towards keeping their abilities as stock standard. What can I say, I like their kits!)
I know I'm doing some things wrong- like my anti-faction mods. I feel like I'm doing some things right, like using Kullvero's 1 and 3 together to clear large groups of enemies. But, mostly, I'm just confused about what I should be focusing on to make these two stronger and more hardy. Steel Path seems to be about bringing the right frames and the right weapons to the right job- a lot of specialization.
I'm raring to sink my teeth into Arbitrations, Steel Path, and Archon Hunts, I think my mods just need a little help before I can do that. X'D
Congratulations to anyone who got this far, and thank you in advance!

honestly fuck it what if KI removed the concept of choosing and "locking in" your school when you create your character. instead they make it where you can play as whatever school you want at any time on one character. to do this, you'd have to only be wearing one school's gear at a time, and then you'd only be able to cast that school's spells (with the exception of astral/shadow) while you're wearing said school's gear. for example if you're currently death and want to play as fire, you'd unequip all your death gear and equip fire gear which would then only let you cast fire spells. once you equip a piece of fire gear in this case, you wouldn't be able to equip gear of another school or use other school's spells until you take off any piece of fire gear you have on, at which point you could switch to any other school. rinse and repeat whenever you want to play as another school.
this creates an experience similar to runescape where players have the freedom to choose the class they play without completely starting over and losing months or years worth of progress.
yes, this would incredibly limit advantages such as elemental/spirit blades and traps, feint, and tower shield, etc. on schools that dont natively train those spells, but it would make it so much more gratifying when you reap the benefits of making a choice to play those certain schools. another major benefit i see from this is eliminating the tedious grind of leveling multiple characters up to max, especially if KI plans to keep adding world after world.
i dont see this being something they ever actually do as its a Huge switch that changes the game at it's core, but for the sake of the idea here, a system like this would make sense to be level locked maybe at level 30 along with Aquila or even 60 with Waterworks. this way, new players can get used to game mechanics before deciding what play styles they like.
you only have to max one wizard, and get to play any school at any time, but only that school until you switch out your gear.
please discuss!!
[edit:] an issue of replayability, playtime, and sales for KI was brought up in the replies. while i wasn't thinking practically about this idea as it is so outlandish, i like discussing hypotheticals so i wanted to add my reply to the post.
i know me being one person is an tiny minority but there are probably others that might agree - i feel like a system like this would make me more inclined to pvp consistently, and use the team-up kiosk for replay-ability which would address the playtime and retention claims (in this fake scenario yeah the kiosk would probably cease to exist as everyone gets to max and no one needs help at lower levels anymore but i digress).
as for sales with this mechanic, if you're trying to get multiple gearsets to switch between, i can see pack sales and dungeon grinding staying at a similar level which also feeds into playtime. getting this gear takes the same time and potentially money, just on one character instead of spread out over multiple. now, would people really prefer intentionally grinding out multiple gearsets instead of stopping when they get the one they need? probably not. but during this grind especially as i've seen in novus, you get a buffet of other school gear pieces in the process of trying to get one school's set. i can attest to this because i have a full myth aeon set collecting dust in the bank and almost a full death set when farming on my ice.
as the game stands now, there are obvious benefits to having multiple characters, being multiple backpacks and banks, additional castle slots, and anything with a limit for one character. with this changed mechanic, this is another area KI can increase sales, i.e backpack elixirs instead of world exilirs which would likely become obsolete.
this is a Huge post and i didn't expect to put this much thought into such an outlandish idea but i love the brainstorming that happens as a result!

stede and ed are in their own little world
theyre both terrible captains. and that makes their relationship with the crew completely fucked. the captain is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the crew and neither of them are being shown to give a shit.
eds relationship with his crew hasnt evolved at all from when we first meet him. izzy tells him several crew members died carrying out eds orders to find stede. and eds like “well thats thats their job” then “edward if you dont do something were all were ALL gonna die” “hm theres an idea”. hes very experienced and intelligent but that doesnt help when youre reckless and working as an individual while still taking the title of leader. & not keeping people alive. i kept waiting for him to have any growth there but there was nothing. i wanted it so bad but nah. he said sorry to izzy only. cares about him but hasnt had anything with the rest of the crew. he needed moments individually to make amends i think
stedes relationship with his crew got way worse than it was in s1. he was always captaining when he shouldnt have been and responsible for their lives while leading them into danger beyond his ability to ensure their safety but at least he seemed like he cared about their happiness and saying “talk it through”. like there was room for improvement but he went the other way. with s2 its all become so hollow now. he just doesnt care about their feelings if ed is responsible for hurting them. stede not caring At All about lucius being alive was interesting to me. hes kinda just selfish. he sees only ed on an equal level to him and out of the whole crew only izzy really its true. he hasnt had much one-on-one with anyone else.
and then after ed tried to kill half the crew/kill people the other half of the crew love. and all decided their Feelings are “kick him off”. stede still chose ed. they always choose eachother over the crew. and Yeah it makes sense theyre in love. but theyre captains of a pirate ship with a huge target on all of them. but only looking out for the other one. the crew sees how theyre treated. theyre dissatisfied but resigned to their fates. the whole “eh whatever. the captains always get away with it and we just deal with what they put us through” conversation. and really Dont see those two as family at this point lets be real. ed and stede are too focused on each other to be a family to anyone except ed and stede. its true izzy is the only other family member you had it accurate the first time.
they could have changed that if any effort was put in at all but they havent gotten to that point. “oh these people love you oh theyre your family” you cant just write that in and have the crews actions this whole time leading up to that contradict it. just untrue. maybe it being the dying wish of someone who they did actually consider family helped their relationship? a little bit? izzy still picking up eds slack. but then in the end the crew just seem happier without ed and stede. those two arent team players they act as individuals. lone wolf
and thats FINE but not on a ship. having stede give them that push at the beginning of the show was great. to crack their shell a little bit is what started the crews overall growth and im sure they care a little bit about stede for that. and theyre soft people i know they have a lingering connection to them. but they have Not “talked it through” theyre literally “bottling it up” it sucks. theres hope but ed and stede have to reach out but they simply havent. really the way the show is written was the crew-minus-captains becoming family together and ed & stede going off on their own. unfortunate but its just the content of the show. i have a lot of thoughts about this im probably missing something. but the captains/crew relationship was so disappointingly lacking

(possibly too specific) but any games where you’re able to play something akin to a D&D mindflayer? looking to steal brains and create thralls
Alright friend, nothing's a direct match but here's what I got. There seems to be a connection between Caltrop Core and these kinds of monster games, as I found three that use this system!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Locum Tendons, by Elijah Raine Plant the seeds of deceit, harvest the flesh.  Locum Tendons, a butchering of the Latin phrase locum tenens, meaning "to substitute for," is a role-playing game about one or more doppelgangers infiltrating an adventuring party and systemically consuming them. You, the players, will take on the role of monsters while your GM takes the role of the party members you'll be massacring.
This is a one-page game with two stats: Deception and Consumption. It's based off of Caltrop Core, so you'll only need d4s. You'll be working to increase fear levels of your final victim so that your last meal is deliciously terrifying. Not exactly mind-flayers, but the devouring of adventurers might fill some of that niche. No Sacrifice Without Blood, by hyphenartist.
Vampire, werewolf, troll, ker, chupacabra — the names are as subtle and subjective as they are distinct and seemingly endless. Your life among the Hungry has been complicated and painful. It has cost you much, and yet it has also been undeniably rewarding. You have been hurt, but you have also hurt others. You are a Predator, and that sort of thing is to be expected.
No Sacrifice Without Blood is a modern gothic tabletop roleplaying game about the lives of immortal, cannibalistic beings called Predators. It uses a deck of cards to play out your attempts to sate your Hunger, with powers that may dwindle along the way. The Predators of this game are up for interpretation. You can choose something classic, like a Vampire, or something specific, like the Mindflayer you're looking for! However, the game focuses mostly on the themes of making sacrifices for power. You might very well steal brains but you'll be confronted with the cost.
Fever Pitch, by Liam McCrickard / Tomahawkbunny.
Enter a world of Curses and blood, of haunted forests and ruined streets. A band of Outcasts with strange abilities despised by the mundane, the faithful, and the arcane alike band together to face the Cursed creatures of the world while finding their own paths.
Another Caltrop Core game, this time focusing on the monstrosity of not belonging. You'll face off against foes, wrestling with Curses and unlocking your powers the closer and closer you get to death.
There are a few playbooks within this game that might get you the mindflayer vibe you're looking for, like The Drinker, who must feast on others to grow, or the Hive, which strives to add more useful branches to their network. The themes of this game seem to resonate somewhat with the idea of pursuing revenge even at the edge of despair. B.B.E.G., by Maps N' Quests.
So, you’re the bad guy...
Or, in this case, you might be a group of them. You’re the villains of this story. You’re not that different from the heroes you fight against, really. If they really thought about it, they’d probably see that they have a lot in common with you. Why won’t those heroes ever just consider those things, right? Regardless of their reasoning, or yours, you have a vision of what you think things should be like, and you’re going to make it so. You’ll fight against those heroes in whatever way you need to, so you can make things the way you want them to be. See, there’s a similarity already. Maybe, just maybe, if you can’t beat the heroes, you can convince them to join you.
With flexible archetypes and stripped-down rules, you can flavour this to make your villains any monster you want. You can choose to fight the heroes if you like - but you can also try to convince the heroes to see things from your point of view, if you like. If all else fails, I'm sure you can find some way to steal their brains...
They Feed on Fear, by Alexei Vella
THEY FEED ON FEAR: A Horror RPG is a stand-alone RPG system that allows the players to create and take control of Fear-Eaters, horrific inter-dimensional beings that sustain themselves by devouring the Fear/Essence of their victims. Players name their Fear-Eater and create their appearance, behaviour, background, and mythology. The players must then stalk their way through the world outlined by the game master, called the Provider. The Fear-Eater's goal is to sow discord, fear, and horror, all while avoiding the feeble attempts to end their rampaging unquenchable feast.
You build your mythology in this game, so if you want to give your characters distinct Mindflayer vibes that seems pretty doable. You'll be descending on a town to feed yourselves, increasing the panic of the local townspeople until you've accumulated the Essence you need to move on to the next stage - whether that be Hibernation, Ascendancy, or something else.

With the prospect of having to share practice sessions with Orion looming over her, Lizzie’s enthusiasm at returning to the pitch had rapidly faded.
The closer the beginning of her training drew, the more her excitement was dwindling, but her fury at Orion wasn’t the sole reason for it. Matthew didn’t grow tired of reminding her that he thought it was too early for her to take up flying again. He didn’t let the matter drop, and every time Lizzie winced at the pain in her wrist, he found himself confirmed.
“It’s only for her own sake that she wants you back, not yours. If Skye depends on you backing her captaincy, maybe she shouldn’t have become captain in the first place.”
Matthew and Skye not getting along wasn’t news, and usually, Lizzie would have jumped to Skye’s defence. But whatever her role in Orion’s unexpected reappearance had been, Lizzie was still mad at her for not giving her so much as a warning, so she remained quiet and let Matthew rant away.
Skye wasn’t the only thing Lizzie was keeping quiet about, however. After leaving Lewis Parkin’s farewell feast, Matthew wouldn’t stop asking questions about Orion, how he and Lizzie knew each other, and his abilities as a player. Lizzie felt sorry for brushing him off, but she couldn’t tell him any more than she already had.
In introducing Orion as nothing but an acquaintance from school, she had purposefully kept the truth of what had been between them from Matthew, and a whole week after Orion had so suddenly reappeared, Lizzie’s chance to correct herself had long since passed. If Matthew was irritated by her conciseness, it couldn’t be helped.
The thought of Orion wouldn’t leave her alone, and Lizzie wasn’t sure what to make it. It had been two years since she’d had any sign of life from him last, and now he was back, and in Wigtown of all places. His return was touching on wounds she had been convinced had finally healed; when she thought back on the day she had found his flat in Montrose empty and abandoned, however, there was still a painful sting inside her heart.
Not knowing why Orion had left everything behind without so much as a word had haunted Lizzie for months, but after many tears and sleepless nights, she had begrudgingly accepted it and moved on. She had met Matthew, and after a while, she had begun to heal. And just when she had believed that this chapter of her life had finally closed for good, Orion had decided to come back.
So now he was to be a member of her Quidditch team. The thought was absurd to Lizzie. There was so much hurt and anger still inside her that she couldn’t even look at him. How was this supposed to work?
When Lizzie woke on the first day of practice, her mood was bad. Plagued by fitful dreams of falling, she had barely slept and felt moody and exhausted. She freed herself from Matthew’s arms, brushed her hand over his hair, and quietly got dressed. As she packed her Quidditch bag for the first time in months, she had to breathe deeply to quell the nerves fluttering in her stomach.
By the time she arrived at the Quidditch pitch, the fluttery feeling in her gut had turned into a tight knot and Lizzie felt sick. The goalposts were gleaming in the pale morning sunlight, and she stopped to admire the sight. It was a new day and a new season, and she had worked hard to be a part of it; she could do this.
The thought comforted her, but only until she walked beneath the wooden perimeter of the pitch and out onto the lawn. Much to her chagrin, Orion was already there waiting for her. To Lizzie’s surprise, he wasn’t alone.
“What are you doing here?” Lizzie spoke directly to Skye, not acknowledging Orion’s presence with so much as a glance.
“I’m in charge of the team,” Skye shrugged in return. “Need to make sure you lot get back to form, don’t I?”
Lizzie gave her a dark look. “Can we get this over with? I’ve got better things to do than hang around and reminisce all day.”
Skye glanced between Lizzie and Orion, who was shrouding himself in silence. “Might be harder than I thought,” she muttered under her breath before clapping her hands together. “Let’s get cracking, shall we?”
Her words rang out over the Quidditch pitch. When no one moved, Lizzie raised her eyebrows at Skye, who, in turn, was looking at Orion; Orion himself was trying very hard to look anywhere but in Lizzies direction. Eventually, Lizzie cleared her throat.
“How about you tell us what you had in mind, Captain?”
It wasn’t lost on her how the way she was addressing Skye made Orion flinch. Skye rubbed the back of her neck, the colour rising to her face.
“Right, yeah. Both of you haven’t been flying for a while, so I’d say we do some warm-up rounds around the pitch.” Her face lit up. “Dunno about you, but I feel like a race. Like in the old times. Ready, set, go!”
Skye mounted her Comet 260 and took off while Orion and Lizzie scrambled to do the same. There was no time for Lizzie to feel nervous as she shot into the air on her Silverswift. As soon as her feet left the ground and the wind hit her face, it was as if all the pieces she had struggled to keep together over the last few months were falling back into place.
The feeling quickly faded when Skye sped up after the first round, and the months Lizzie had spent off her broomstick were beginning to show. She had been forced to remain on the ground, but Skye had finished the season in excellent form; there was no chance of keeping up with her.
Lizzie lay down flat on her broomstick to at least not let Orion overtake her. But her Silverswift was a sensitive broom, and her reactions to it not as finely tuned as Lizzie would have liked. She held on tightly as she took a turn with too much speed, and suddenly, she became aware of how much strain she was putting on her wrist.
On their third round - Skye was already way ahead - Orion slowly began gaining on her, and by the time they crossed the finish line, he had overtaken Lizzie by almost a broom’s length. Skye opened her mouth to comment on it but quickly reconsidered when she saw the look on Lizzie’s face.
They began their practice properly with some simple passes, and Lizzie grew increasingly frustrated as their training drew on. Skye may have been the captain, but she kept on looking for Orion’s approval on every exercise, as if they were still on the Hufflepuff team and this was the school pitch they had learned their basics on. But this wasn’t Hogwarts anymore, and things had changed. Lizzie and Skye were professional players now, and Orion had to learn the ropes from them, not the other way round.
“I get the Quaffle in this shooting range,” Lizzie snapped during an aiming exercise. Even though she had clearly indicated that she wanted the Quaffle, Orion had attempted the shot himself. “Pass it to me next time I tell you to. If our manoeuvres are too hard for you, that's your problem, not mine.”
“What are you waffling about, Jameson?” Skye interfered before Orion had the chance to reply. “It’s all good. Passing would’ve been nonsense.”
“It wouldn’t have.”
“Orion was in a much better position to score, and he made the goal alright. What’re you getting your broomstick in a twist about?”
“I shoot when we do this manoeuvre,” Lizzie hissed at her. “I always do. It’s one of my signature moves.”
“Yeah, a move he taught you if you’ve forgotten about that,” Skye shot back and pointed at Orion.
“Maybe he did, but I was the one to perfect it!”
“Would you listen to that?” Skye scoffed. “With your scoring record today, I’d come off my high Hippogriff if I were you.”
Orion stayed back while Lizzie and Skye were snapping at each other. When he flew between them and raised his hands in a placating manner, Lizzie again felt reminded of their time at school.
“It’s alright, Skye. The student has surpassed the teacher, and thus the roles have been reversed. Acknowledging our need to learn is only the first step towards wisdom. Lizzie may still lack efficiency, but she makes up for it with experience that my own doesn’t match.”
“Oh, just shut up, will you?” Lizzie snarled. The look she gave Orion was scalding. “You don’t even know what you’re talking about.”
“Jameson…” Skye’s voice had a warning ring to it, but Lizzie cut her off with an impatient gesture of her hand.
“What? It’s true! He barely made, what, one match for Montrose? Two?” Lizzie knew precisely how many times Orion had played for the Montrose Magpies, but she would rather cast a Tongue-Tying curse on herself than admit it. “He doesn’t know the business, and I will not have a bloody beginner lecture me on what my gameplay is lacking.”
“Offending you was never my intention, and I apologise if I have,” Orion said and looked away when he couldn’t hold Lizzie’s glare any longer. “But if we want to achieve harmony within our team -”
“There is no harmony between us whatsoever, and this isn’t our team either,” Lizzie interrupted him hotly. “You need to earn your place on the roster, as we all did. I wouldn’t let you play at all if you asked me.”
“Good thing no one’s asking you then,” Skye butted in, her green eyes flashing. “You don’t make the decisions here - I do. And I’ll not have you speak to another member of my team like this. Now back off. This is not your place.”
Lizzie looked between her best friend and her ex, pressing her lips together. “No,” she said through gritted teeth, “this isn’t my place at all.”
Whipping her broomstick around, Lizzie flew back to the ground. As soon as she landed, she stormed away, ripping her arm and shin protection off and throwing them into the grass next to her Silverswift. Her anger made her walk away from the pitch faster and faster until she was almost running.
She had been looking forward to this day - her moment back in the air - for months, but it had been nothing like she had imagined it. It hadn’t been the exhilarating return to the pitch Lizzie had made it out to be, and that was all Orion’s fault. He had come and ruined everything, and now even Skye was on his side.
Her feet took her from the Quidditch pitch to the training grounds where the annual tryouts for promising Hogwarts graduates were being held. Lizzie stopped to watch, her mind returning to her own tryouts two years prior. They had been on a different pitch and for a different team; part of a different life, really. A lot had changed since then.
Her presence didn’t go unnoticed for long. The whispering and pointing in Lizzie’s direction drew Ethan’s attention, who exchanged a few words with his scouts and then joined her at the sidelines.
“Shouldn’t you be at practice?”
Lizzie snorted. “We’re done with practice.”
“Are you now?”
“We are. I’m not doing this.” She shook her head. “You can’t be serious about Orion being on the team.”
“Pretty sure I am. Doesn’t look like he’s the one making problems.”
Lizzie’s anger suddenly flared up again. “What did you expect I was going to do? Jump into his arms and kiss your feet for bringing him back? He knows jack all about what it means to be a real Quidditch player. How is this supposed to work?”
Ethan looked her up and down sceptically. “If I’m not doolally, he’s only got one year less experience than you, so tone it down a notch. You ain’t a trouper in the business just yet, Lizzie. And from what I saw at his tryouts, Orion knows what he’s doing alright. Well enough to have taught you and Skye, at least.”
“That’s different.”
“It’s not. He’s got some real potential, and it’s ours to profit from.” Ethan’s features softened. “But that ain’t why you don’t want to work with him, is it, lass?”
“He broke my heart,” Lizzie finally managed to say. “How can you expect me to just forget that?”
“I know. After all, it was me you came running to after you’d thrown everything in the wind because of him. I gave you credit of trust that day, you’d better not forget that. I certainly won’t.”
Lizzie swallowed her protest, and Ethan nodded appreciatively.
“Now listen up. You’re not at school anymore, this ain’t the place for petty little love stories. This here is about the Wanderers. You’re a professional and a bloody good one at that, so I expect you to get a grip. Orion’s been out of business for a while, but so have you. With you, him and the rest of the lot, we now have a fine selection of Chasers for our line-up. Skye is the captain, so she’s set, but the rest of the spots are fair game. Replacing you with Yarwood was a workaround, but I’ve seen worse in my days and I only want the best players on my team. If you want to play for the Wanderers, you’ll have to fight for that privilege like everybody else.”
Lizzie’s anger had dwindled during Ethan’s speech, and she ducked her head when he was done. He was right; she had acted like an entitled kid straight out of school, not like the professional she had worked hard to become.
“I expect you to go and finish your training now,” Ethan added after a moment of silence, and Lizzie nodded.
“Yes, coach.”
“One word of advice,” Ethan said as Lizzie turned to go. “It’s the team that comes first, not the player. Always. You’d better not forget that.”

Just gonna give Gravity Falls' characters from the Bill Cipher wheel a soul color like in Undertale. If you don't know what the colors mean, here it is:
Red: Determination ❤️
Orange: Bravery 🧡
Yellow: Justice 💛
Green: Kindness 💚
Light blue: Patience 💙
Deep blue: Integrity 💙💜
Purple: Perseverance 💜
Okay let's get started.
• Dipper: Purple for perseverance 💜
Tumblr media
Perseverance, here, is to keep going besides whatever obstacles could get in your way. Even if your goals change, your pace doesn't. Dipper always has some kind of objective in mind, clear stuff like finding the author or more abstract things like impressing his crush or getting manlier. The truth is that, even if Dipper might doubt himself sometimes, he's always working for what he (thinks he) wants. Another considerable color in his soul could be orange, for bravery.
• Mabel: Green for kindness 💚
Tumblr media
The good old kindness, no need to explain. Mabel cares so much about everyone around her, wants them to smile and does her best for them to be happy, even if sometimes does it wrong (she's still a child after all), her intentions are nothing but the best and the kindest and she always ends up rectifying the moment she realizes she made anyone sad. A secondary color to mention might be orange as well.
• Stan: Light blue for patience 💙
Tumblr media
The needed patience, the ability to wait. Stanley has waited a lot through his life, that's no secret for anyone. Even if it took him ages, he waited and step by step worked as best as he could taking the needed time and never gave up. Even if it might not seem like it, he has an easy character towards those he cares about (that was lost when Ford came back and Stan got his last straw, but let's ignore that) and... he's just actually very patient with them, specially the kids but Soos and Wendy too since he rarely gets really annoyed by any of them, something I didn't realize until I tried to align him with any of the soul colors and found out that this... is the one trait that fits him; I literally couldn't fit him under any other color.
• Ford: Red for determination ❤️
Tumblr media
Determination (sigh). Undertale players can feel this word's weight. You have an objective in mind for the long run and you won't let it go until you reach it. That's literally Ford Pines, the guy who worked half of his life to accomplish a successful scientific career and fame, and the other half to destroy a specific yellow triangle. Ford's eyes will focus on a goal and he won't stop until he makes it. A secondary color might be orange, cause he is almost too brave. Also maybe yellow, for his strong-but-not-always-accurate sense of justice, but I wouldn't consider that one as much.
• Soos: Deep blue for integrity 💜💙
Tumblr media
He has a moral conscience, and stays loyal to the truth and to himself. Soos might seem a green type of person, but he won't hesitate when telling you a hurtful truth, but still a truth that needs to be said. He won't be anything but himself even if he's not perfect, without ever needing to perjudicate anyone. He is sincere, trustworthy, and a great person, who stayed loyal to Stan but then to the kids the moment they showed him he was hiding something to all of them. Definitely a soul of integrity. Another color to be considered might be light blue, for patience, or orange again. These guys are really brave, let me tell ya.
• Wendy: Orange for bravery 🧡
Tumblr media
Could I make it more obvious? Wendy doesn't really try to get in dangerous places, but she never runs away from them. It is revealed in the Society of the Blind Eye episode that she is always stressed inside, which is a poorexcuseforcharacterdevelopment but anyway, she lives with a deep fear but is able and willing to get over it and face situations without letting it control her, and that is actually what bravery is rather than jumping to danger like an idiot. Another color to be considered might be green, since she's actually pretty kind as shown in the series.
• Gideon: Purple for perseverance 💜
Tumblr media
An interesting aspect of the show is all the parallelisms between Gideon and Dipper, like both having a crush on an older girl or both getting a journal and more stuff I don't remember but I read that analysis somewhere, and you get me. It was also interesting for both to have the same soul color along with the possibility of orange. Gideon... keeps it going. He's always planning something to get away with his whims, doesn't matter if it's stealing the Mistery Shack or a deck chair. Gideon's vision and wantings might change, but like Dipper, his pace never does.
• Fiddleford: Green for kindness 💚
Tumblr media
At first, i put Fiddleford here just because he couldn't fit any other color, but I realized green is actually perfect for him. I'm talking mostly about when he was sane since I don't think his attitude during most of the series should be considered to judge his real personality. He seemed a nice person and dedicated to others with things like writing a whole tesis for Ford, giving him a laptop or a pumpkin that "looked like him", and the way Ford described him talking about family and stuff, also he seems to love children by the end of Gravity Falls when he recovered his memories, his vibe just seems very kind by nature. I haven't read the journal for a while so I don't remember a lot, but definitely, green is his color. Mostly because he literally just can't fit under any other and I'm not joking this time.
• Pacifica: Yellow for justice 💛 (Why is there not a yellow text option?)
Tumblr media
Am I judging her whole character because of one scene? Yes. Do I think I'm right? ... not really. The first time she stopped her parents' influence, she did it with an act of justice. She let the town people into the party, she did what was fair. Yes, it was because there was a ghost threatening to kill everyone if not, but I think there's a meaning behind her first... true action being something fair. Well, she cheated in the singing contest, but honestly, I'm having trouble here giving Pacifica a color. Her parents' bad influence made her a completely different person than what she really is inside, so her soul color might be actually anything, but I personally believe yellow is the one.
• Robbie:
Tumblr media
....
....
Who is Robbie?
No, really. I have no idea what to give him. Maybe perseverance? Because of his search for ✨love✨? Idk man. Not kindness, nor patience, nor bravery (maybe? Nahh... Maybe? Naahhh), nor justice (i mean what justice yk), nor integrity, and I laugh at the idea of giving him a determination soul. Could you imagine? (Probably only Undetale fans will get me here but come on).
Though that would actually be hilarious.
Anyway I hope you liked this... something. I love Undertale and a crossover with Gravity Falls would be SO fun and I couldn't get this out of my head, so... yeah. Tell me if you think I'm wrong about any of these and why, I'd like it tho probably no one will read this but I will be happy anyway.
Also I forgot but Bill's is Determination, if he even has a soul, much less a human soul. His magic could be red tho, like the monsters with colored magic instead of colored souls.

17 with Luna, 5 Damien, and uhh 7 with Phobos?
How does your OC sabotage themselves?
Captain Luna has some of the ‘normal’ self-sabotage behaviours like isolating from others when he’s sad, neglecting his health, ruminating on things that happened decades ago/things he can’t control, etc.
But right now, he has this major problem of never really asking or accepting help, even when he needs it. The whole Wither King fiasco we’re seeing? He’s almost constantly turning down other people’s offers to help him- “Don’t worry about it, I’ll handle it”, “Thank you, I appreciate the concern, but you mustn’t trouble yourself”.
He’s almost convinced that he can do everything his way, and that he can do it alone, for better or for worse.
(This will bite him in the ass later in Arc 1 when he tries to save Damien and defeat the Wither King all by himself.)
The guy has a not unfounded (but definitely unchallenged!) subconscious belief that he’s better than everyone else. Because his immortality is forced but manual, he’s very aware of how much older and more experienced he is than most of the other Perpetua members. On top of that, the Key makes him almost a god among men, and as it’s guardian, he’s internalised this idea of “with great power comes great responsibility” to the point where he throws himself at almost every responsibility because he thinks he has the power to fix it. He’s not conceited about it or anything, and will happily let others contribute to a solution.
But when push comes to shove? He’s not a team player.
The worst part is that he hasn’t recognised this in himself. He thinks he’s better than this- after 230 years he’s had over triple the expected lifespan for a human, double that for a lucky human, and twelve times the amount of time Augustin had. He thinks that he’s got most of the flaws in his character sorted out (not that he’ll admit it), but he doesn’t.
It’s hardly been challenged, though, because calling Captain Luna ‘egotistical’ feels wrong. Hero-worship aside, he’s just a nice guy to most people, and hardly anyone (with the relatively short amount of time they spend on Perpetua) recognises it in him except during moments of crisis.
Does your OC get lost easily? What do they do when they do get lost?
Damien’s sense of direction isn’t horrible, but if you only give them verbal instructions on how to get to a place, chances are they’ll get it wrong.
(“First…or second exit? Was it room thirteen or thirty? Sixteen? Fuck! Did they say Corridor B, or D? Upstairs or downstairs?! Where do I go from the ibis tapestry? Is this even an ibis? It’s not like, a heron, right?”)
If you give them a map or some visual way of getting to a location, they’ll have a much easier time.
How they respond to being lost depends on how much of their abilities they can use. Before the Wither King undoes the life binding and takes away their infinite magic stamina, they’ll probably just fly up to a high enough vantage point and orientate themself based on what landmarks they can pick out. God help them if they’re indoors.
Without any magic or outside help, they’re likely to pick a direction based on what information they have (however little that may be) and hope that they end up in the right spot (“It’s a sort of kinesis movement! I learned about this! If a flatworm can do it, so can I!”). The odds that they’ll start crying and throwing up increases the longer that this goes on, especially if they think they are late.
Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at their own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a smiley face painted on?
Phobos could probably handle a small child. He won’t be particularly happy about the situation, but the kid will live. They’ll probably be exposed to violent video games, sure, or maybe traumatised by decades-old CGI, but no immediate danger except for watching him commit arson or something. He, however, will end up exhausted.
The dog is the happy medium in that it doesn’t need as much attention as a small child, but it’s enough of an active presence for it to not fade into the background. The dog will live, and he might actually have fun with it.
The houseplant is where things get dicey. There’s a good chance that he’ll forget to water it, or water it too much. The plant, being sessile, is dangerously close to being an inanimate object that he can just forget about. After a week, it will probably live. After two, you’re playing with fire. Any more than that, and just prepare for him to have gotten a replacement plant and claim that it’s the same one.
The problem with the smiley rock is that it’s hard to tell if you’re doing a good job at taking care of it. Avery would probably get on his case about either not feeding it enough sprinkles, or feeding it too many. Do rocks even like sprinkles? It’s quite a lot of sugar to be giving to a rock. Who knows, it might already be dead.

I’d like a tour of the Courage of Ages Links, please!
Lemme just preface this by saying I LOVE QUESTIONS LIKE THIS THANK YOU!! I think I made a post like this awhile ago, but it needed to be updated so this gives me an excuse to
And now a very very long list of Links :D
Cloud — Skyward Sword Link, he’s a nice guy at first glance but has an exceptional ability to go from pleasant to terrifying in about two seconds flat. Has some white streaks in his hair from channeling Demise’s lightning, and his eyes are a little extra bright during storms. Married his Zelda less then a week ago, he’s rather upset his honeymoon got interrupted.
Mini — Minish cap Link, he’s the youngest of the crew at 10 (and a half). Polite and pretty mature for his age, he’s like the epitome of “small but mighty”. He’s horribly superstitious though, and has a mighty fear dislike of cats.
Kaleidoscope — original Four Swords Link, he got nicknamed after the way the colors in his eyes shift around and swirl, kinda like a kaleidoscope. He’s a quiet guy and keeps to himself, but he’s also a great listener when he’s not having... issues. The seamster of the group, he usually ends up darning everyone’s socks.
Sprite — Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask (and sorta Hyrule Warriors) Link, he puts on a grumpy face but is actually a pretty sweet kid underneath. He’s on this little adventure with a mix of intense annoyance and grim acceptance. He thought he was done with time travel shenanigans, this’ll be the FOURTH TIME—
Gloam — Twilight Princess Link, he’s the big brother of the group, maybe is a little overprotective of the younger Links. Calls pretty much everyone younger then him “puppy” as well. He’s a huge animal lover, he’s almost always got a hawk on his arm or a cat or dog following him. Misses Epona, but knows Ilia is taking good care of her (also misses Ilia. Never takes off her charm).
Light — Four Swords Adventures Link, one of his eyes is red and blue, the other is green and violet, and his mood sometimes swings a bit sporadically. Despite all this he’s a great team player, and he’s definitely in his element having all these other fighters to work with. Really hates being alone.
Windy — Windwaker and Phantom Hourglass Link, he’s got a big mischievous streak and is very upbeat. His big brother-ness make him worry sometimes about the younger Links, but he’s not that old himself so he tries not to be overbearing. Rough-and-tumble, but he’s actually pretty polite despite being a pirate (it’s his grandma’s fault).
Spirit — Spirit Tracks Link, he’s not exactly the greatest fighter, his strength lies more in, well, trains. That isn’t to say he can’t fight, but he doesn’t prefer it, and injuries bother him a lot. Likes drawing and tinkering with stuff, the sheikah technology in botw fascinates him. He can see ghosts without any aid and is very close with First.
Hibiscus — A Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages/Seasons, and Link’s Awakening Link, he’s definitely the most experienced of everyone, seems way older than 18. Won’t admit it but Koholint screwed him up, enough that he was in a really bad place for a while (maaaybe kinda still is). He’s also a really good medic, one of the best out of the Links, and adapts very well to new skills.
Hue — A Link Between Worlds and Tri Force Heroes Link, he’s got an outfit for every occasion. Literally. Any occasion. His red and blue link buddies convinced him to dye his hair green and he maybe regrets it a little but it’s mostly grown out anyway. He’s a blacksmith apprentice like Mini, and likes making blades as useful and stylish as his clothes.
Brownie — The Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link Link, (heh) he’s a little anxious, kinda paranoid, but a really good fighter with both magic and blade, and knows a lot more then the others might think. Tends to get underestimated due to his appearance but he’s the most magically powerful of all of them.
Era — Hyrule Warriors Link, sort of the leader, he seems like he’s got it the most together (he does not) but he’s good at faking it. It’s what got him through the war anyway. Technically the oldest only by a year or two, he may or may not have adopted Sprite during the war and is kinda the dad of the group (oh no shoot shoot when did that happen—). He’s got a weird relationship with compliments and his appearance.
Slate — Breath of the Wild Link, he’s quiet, but cheerful. Sometimes gets caught up in his head which can end badly, (even worse if he gets stuck in a memory) but he’s trying. Crazy good archer, and master of silent movement, when he’s not trying to be quiet he’s nearly always quietly humming some tune or other. Also loves food with a passion.
First — Link from the manga at the end of Hyrule Historia, First is a ghost. He’s not quite sure how he’s here. Also Spirit is the only person who can see him and actually knows he’s here. He’s actually okay with only Spirit seeing him, and he’s able to do a few things to help out (fight ghost enemies). Has a distinct sort of sadness about him though, and Spirit wishes he wasn’t dead and could hug him. He seems like he could use it.

multiples of 7 for the character asks for bo!! <3
7. what quality do they like the least about themselves?
OOF. WHAT A WAY TO START. i think theres a Lot about himself bo doesn't like and he's still coming to terms with what a lot of that means like. In Context. of like. Everything. but i think Right Now the thing he doesn't like the most is that he makes people sad. because he can Tell but he also cant Help It and he's trying to find the balance between. opening up. and making people Worry about him. because he!!! does not want to affect the people he cares about in a negative way!!! its fine if they do that to him but not the other way around. he's not supposed to take up space <3
14. do you have a favourite conversation that they’ve had with another character? briefly describe it!
i definitely have favorite conversations with the pcs, but i think my favorite conversation with an npc was when they were in the book and bo got. a little mad. at bubba. for not just working things out with ezzy. and yelled at him a wittle bit. just bc i think that was like a Turning Point for bo of like. maybe the first time he ever acted selfishly towards someone? and knew he was acting selfish and said it anyway? and just being like. actually me and rosie deserve a full family so why cant you get your shit together. which like. in hindsight with everything we know about them now, Harrowing for bubba, but it was also bo like. showing he felt safe enough with bubba to get upset at him? bc that's pretty rare for bo
21. without revealing any secrets, how much of your character’s backstory does the rest of your party know about? 20%? 75%? 0%?
i mean. broad strokes, 100%. there's always going to be little details to flesh out, but bo backstory was pretty simple and didn't get changed at all from original version to now. all the nuance that's come with it has come from hollis. i didnt know jack shit about bubba or him and eabha's relationship or the rangers or anything. i found out In Game with everyone else (madly affectionate)
28. what is something that helps to comfort them?
talking to kai <3 kai is really good at both grounding him but also making him like. actually deal with stuff so he gets it out of his system. he's used to being like. oh i'm upset. gonna bury this forever. but kai is like. okay bud we're gonna talk through it and then chill out and bo is like wait huh this actually helps?? wild
35. pick a character that they know. what is something that they do that your character finds annoying/frustrating?
flip side of that,,, less annoying and more frustrating / concerning but. kai not eating well <3 bo is such a big food guy and like. is so used to people showing care through food. and so kai will stress bo needs to take care of himself because he deserves to feel good and then will have like. an iced coffee for breakfast and not eat again for 8 hours and it drives bo insane. he doesn't understand how they can be so in tune with things emotionally and also expect so much from their body and fighting abilities and then not take care of it right
42. how similar is your character to you?
MEAN QUESTION. i think more similar than i would like to admit but not as similar as i would fear. i think we have some good traits in common and some bad traits in common and some hangups in common but overall we have fairly different like. cores. and life experiences, obv. it is sometimes hard for me to play bo cause im like noooooo i dont want to say this but its what bo would say!!! it what bo would think!!!! im very much a Character Actor as a player and me and bo differ. A Lot in how we go about the world

seems like other teams have started their off season moves early. *coughsinleafsimplodingtheirFO*
what’s your hope for the devils? a top 5: either signing, trade, free agent acquisition, and a wild card (something unexpected)
Hmmm. I mean, I'm just waiting for what Fitz does. I trust that man. but let's go through signing, trades, wildcards, and the current prospects. I think that's what you want, yes? (Also, glad we're keeping Lindy, at least for another year or two. Not the time to fuck with that.) Or did you want top 5 most important things that need to happen? I'll put them in Devils red for you.
I've said many times that this offseason is CRUCIAL for the future of the Devils. We mess this up and our contention window can be screwed. We get this right and we could win it all next year.
I. RFA resignings
Bratt: Bratt seems to want 8M AAV. Fitz probably is more around 7M AAV. Whatever happens there, happens. If they can't agree on a deal, flip Bratt's RFA rights. Obviously you want to keep him, though, and it seems he might want to be kept too, so that's a good sign.
Meier: Get it done. Offer plastic surgery for the nose. Whatever, just do it. I think Timo's staying, especially because he seems so happy around his Swiss buddies and the team at large. Just figure out the contract and sign it.
Sharangovich: Shango is good at things, like the penalty kill and defensive play. Problem is, he's very streaky. We can get him a decent deal and bridge him into UFA or trade him. Either is honestly fine by me. We have a MASSIVE pipeline of rookies. I think he stays another year or two. We'll see.
McLeod & Bastian: I'm going to get so much flack for putting these two in red (these two, because we know they're inseparable), but honestly, after the playoffs, Mikey's shown EXACTLY why he needs to be here, whether it's 3C or 4C. I like him on 4C if only to keep Nate on his wing (as I don't see him going 3RW with our current pool of players), but either is fine tbh. Nate, for his part, is a crucial "glue guy" - just look at the Bastian Effect stats (where we had an over 80% points percentage with him on the ice versus 55% without him). I'd love to see them with matching like, 3-4x1.420M contracts (get it, because their jersey numbers- I'll shut up now). I'm sure this will happen, so it's not something I'm worried about.
Boqvist: Cheap and solid team-controlled bottom-sixer. Keep him but for cheap.
Bahl: You can keep him for like 900K or so, I think. DO THAT. Man has blossomed slowly into a solid defenseman.
Blackwood: Blackwood is not a bad goalie. When he's good, he's GOOD. The problem is, as some of my friends say, "he lacks the most important ability - availability". There is no goalie in the NHL better than Mac... at getting on the injured list. I think after the Caps game where Akira stole his net and turned the game around, and then the playoffs where Akira showed he's probably our top goalie going forward, Blackwood is done.
II. UFA resignings
Tatar: I love him but he's generally a nonfactor in the playoffs. And expensive. Unless he takes a pay cut I think he's out, and I think he knows he's out.
Wood: Unless he loves NJ so much he'll come back for a 1M-ish deal, he's on the move. Maybe the Isles. Meet Lou again.
Haula: RESIGN THIS MAN ASAP. It's not a Meier/Bratt thing where one can set a price for the other. Do it, Fitz. 3x2M. Figure it out.
Severson: Old Man Sevo :') He loves us and we love him. I suspect it's the end of the road for him soon. He might get extended - maybe like 4 years at 6M or something - and traded in a year or two, that's totally possible. As an RD though and one of the top D-men hitting the free agency market, it feels like he'll get a better deal from someone else that we won't be able to match. Again, though, prospects out the wazoo. It'll suck to see him go but if that's how it goes, that's how it goes.
Graves: I love him but even he seems to know he's gone :( But I don't trust any other team with this man!!! Can he stay? Just for emotional support? (Also, Gravy has this thing where he tends to clutch the fuck up at the most necessary moments, like scoring the 1.4 seconds left goal against the Blue Jackets that kept Bedard out of the East. For that, if nothing else, keep him, pretty please?)
Bernier: He's on LTIRetirement. Possible he sticks around the organization, though, a lot of people seem to like him.
III. Trades and Acquisitions
Honestly, I don't see too many trades happening. We have prospects. Prospects will fill whatever spots we lose. Blackwood should be traded if possible to a team that wants to take that risk.
Hellebuyck: I see the rumors. I don't think so, though. You'd have to basically ship Vitek, Mac, and a bunch of other stuff for one year of Hellebuyck. Would be great, if we were the Bruins and this was the LAST year of our window (push all the chips in kind of deal). I genuinely think Schmid can be our long-term future in net, barring injury (see: Schneider, Blackwood). I don't see why we need to get Hellebuyck.
Clifton: Connor Clifton is usually mentioned only because he's FROM NJ. We have WAY too many d-men. Nah.
I don't really know too much about what's available on the market, but if there are trades, they're probably going to be low-key like the Lazar acquisition. If there are any trades or UFAs you're thinking of, let me know, and I'll think about them.
IV. The Rookies
Filmon and Gritsyuk: I think they both get a year in Utica at least, unless they impress at training camp.
Foote: Fitz mentioned Foote a LOT in his exit interview. Fully possible we see him on the fourth line - could be Foote-Lazar-Bastian or Foote-McLeod-Bastian. Seems to be the Wood Replacement by now.
Geertsen: I only mention him because we all love him. Obviously a career Comet at this point. But like. Keep him pls.
Holtz: 23-24 is his last shot. If he doesn't work his ass off and prove at camp that he deserves the fourth top-6 winger spot (Mercer, Meier, Bratt are the other three), he's not going to make it in our system and should be traded while he still has the possibility to crack an NHL roster in another team. Hell, with Haula often on Hughes's wing... Holtz REALLY needs to improve (especially skating, and I think ice vision is big too) if he wants to stay here. Otherwise, he's done in Jersey. He's a 7OA, we shouldn't resign him to career AHLing.
Nemec: He'll be a training-camp decision, I think. But also, I think that Sevo's resigning or lack thereof will say a lot. Sevo gets resigned, Nemec is DEFINITELY staying in Utica another season. (You're not scratching Dougie, Marino, or Sevo.) Sevo doesn't get resigned, Nemec likely hits the NHL. Only likely, because...
Walsh: Reilly Walsh also exists. And if he impresses at training camp, we could see him instead of Nemec for next year. I don't know a lot about him, but he sounds NHL-ready? At least for a third pair, like - Siegs/Dougie, Luke/Marino, Bahl/Walsh could slap. This also lets Nemec develop more in Utica.
Daws: Will be the third-string goalie, going to the NHL level if/when Schmid or Vanecek get hurt. I see him tandeming with Schmid after Vitek's contract is up. Fuck, our net will be SOLID if so.
V. Wildcards
Mercer and Schmid: Both Mercer and Schmid come off their ELCs in 24-25. The earlier especially Mercer is extended, the cheaper he'll be. Akira will probably want to see how the 23-24 season goes before a deal is inked. (Also, I want to see if Akira sticks with number 40 or goes to 93, which he used in Utica.)
Vanecek: TANDEM HIM WITH SCHMID. Vitek can get a 30-win season but he's not built to be a starter a la Sorokin or Shesterkin. VV's confidence is DESTROYED after the playoffs; I hope for his sake that the team can get him a sports psychologist or something to help with the mental aspect of the game.
---
Is this what you wanted, anon? Let me know :)
(this is the stuff I do instead of focusing on my finals :') )
