“Duchess Satine Kryze had glided into the room, sometime while the men had been talking. Obi-Wan felt as though an electric shock had coursed through his system. The minute his eyes landed on her, nerves buzzed. Joints stiffened and froze. His heart hiccuped. Breath snagged in his throat, like a thread on a broken piece of fingernail. And the moment their gazes collided, time momentarily stood still. It was as though the world around them had frozen to allow them a moment to assess how they found themselves. It had been many, many years since they’d seen one another; and much had changed since then. They were no longer children. No longer searching for just the right niche in the galaxy to fit themselves into. When last they’d seen each other, Obi-Wan had noted a maturity about Satine, one that had been thrust upon her along with the title of ‘Duchess.’ It had tensed her face in a way that was an obvious mask. New and uncomfortable, not fitting quite right. But now, in its place, was a smooth, natural regality, honed from years of ruling. An innate presence that came from within her. Where once there was a careful measured aspect to her steps, was now a calm confidence. The walk of a woman who understood and accepted both her power and her poise.”
~From the upcoming Ch. 58 of “Balance”
Guess who’s finally writing again 😉

ask and ye shall receive star wars asks! :) what’s your favourite film and why, whats your favourite and least favourite clone wars arc, and if you could bring any character back from the dead who would it be and why?
oh my favourite movie has to be rouge one hands down. that movie was just so fucking good, i cry every time because of how quickly attached i became to the characters. especially andor and now with the series i'm obsessing with him even more.
my favourite clone wars arc is the mandalore arc that leads into order 66 it's just so so good and so so sad.
my least favourite arc was the droids one, with that little admiral. only good thing out of that arc was gregor.
and i'd bring kanan jarrus back. for my mental health. (i didn't say tech because he is not dead)

so i’m taking my little siblings through the clone wars (mostly just the essential episodes). And we’re on season 5 in the droid arc. So I tell them “finish these episodes then wait for me” because i was going out and i wanted to watch the next arc with them so i could explain stuff and see their reactions. I COME HOME AND WHAT DO I FIND?
THEY WATCHED THE MANDALORE ARC
WITHOUT ME
THE M A N D A L O R E ARC!!!!

Duchess satine kryze of mandalore is my favorite character because when she confessed to obi-wan at gunpoint and the bad guy holding the gun tried to roast her for it she kicked him in the balls and told him he had the romantic soul of a slug

I've decided that in the 3rd section of my fic, Cody's just going to start wearing a kama...
...mostly because I want Obi-Wan to see it and then immediately run face-first into a wall

Do you think that Star Wars killed off certain clones (Tup, Fives, Hardcase) so that we wouldn’t have to see them die in the Mandalore arc, or have them be in the Jedi temple and either killing the Jedi or die trying?

Ahsoka and Praise
Thinking of this moment:
Tumblr media
versus this one:
Tumblr media
And this one
Tumblr media
I really think Tales of the Jedi helps put Anakin/Ahsoka’s confrontation in the Mortis Arc into context. Ahsoka asks Anakin if he is proud of her.
For Ahsoka, the droid test in totj was easy. It wasn’t unfair for Anakin to challenge her and present her with something more rigorous. But he should have praised her. Everyone else seemed impressed, even excited at Ahsoka’s proficiency. Yet the person she really needs the reassurance from is her teacher. Her master. Her brother. He doesn’t give her much. She’s a teenager. While she’s resilient and wise, she still needs the positive feedback from adults in her life. Anakin isn’t even on time for her test.
So when Ahsoka confronts Anakin, her deepest fears and frustrations are founded in insecurity and his lack of recognition. He pushes her. It leads her to survive time and time again, but he doesn’t always allow her to enjoy her accolades or provide her with the praise she needs.
In the 501st painting their helmets and armor in Ahsoka’s image, they provide her the recognition and honor she didn’t always receive from Anakin. They helped train her. They helped raise her. They saw how hard she worked and when she returned to them, they made sure to give her what she deserved.

The Mandalorian switched from writing a story following the arc of Ice Age (2002) to writing a story following the arc of Shazam (2019) in-between seasons 2 and 3, and this is why a perfectly satisfying ending to a two season miniseries got ruined.
#the mandalorian#din djarin#grogu#something something if they wanted a huge mandalore-centric storyline this is what tbobf should've been#tbobf shouldn't have been mando chapter 2.5#it should've been the second book in a duology#look they could've done one or the other#a beautiful story where grogu is desperately searching for the jedi to the exclusion of all other connections and it's HURTING HIM#it's hurting to not be able to let go of this desperate desire to find a family that may or may not even be out there anymore#and ultimately his connections to din allow him to heal enough that he recognizes being a jedi is no longer the right path for him#he goes to luke and it's just.... not the way he thought it would be and THAT'S OKAY#OR#you do a beautiful story where din finds a lost child and bonds with it as he works to return the child to their family#and din builds up more connections along the way via having to help this child#which ultimately helps him heal from something or grow in a certain better direction#but he always is going to let the child go at the end because keeping the child was NEVER THE POINT#but we started with one arc and ended it and then suddenly pivoted into another one so we could just keep it going#so that lovely satisfying ending just... went away#like it never existed#but it wasn't grogu's story to begin with#it was din's#just like ice age wasn't actually about the baby at all#it was about manny#whereas in shazam the story isn't about billy's mother it's about BILLY#mandalorian isn't grogu's story so there's nowhere for him to go now that he's not with the jedi#it's DIN'S STORY but grogu's part in it is over so he's just a money making accessory at this point
