This community has been such a lifesaver and comfort for me this year I couldn’t stop myself from doing a holiday post for all my mutuals and readers because the love and appreciation I have for you guys is never ending.

Happy holidays to all my loyal readers. Your excitement about and support of my work never ceases to amaze me. I still can’t get over the fact that there are so many of you who want to read my writing and it makes my heart feel so warm. And the fact that you are so understanding when I have to team a break or a hiatus makes me love you guys even more.

Happy holidays to my mutuals who are always there to hype my ideas and freak out about my favorite characters just as much as I do. Your enthusiasm for what we do is infectious and I’m so happy for the relationships I’ve developed with all of you. I love sharing our love for the little worlds we’ve created and being there to support each other.

Your patience and understanding with me truly means the world and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you guys. I just read through the entirety of Book 1 and got so hooked on everything about the story. I haven’t had the same feeling about an interactive fiction piece since playing through the Arcana. I love how unique each RO is and how there is a balance between seeing them interact with each other and also the MC. Also I appreciate the little customisation options throughout the story. I’m always happy when one of my previously chosen options pops up in the text. I can’t wait for Book 2 and until then I’m definitely checking out your Patreon . Thank you for the amazing work!

That is high praise! Thank you so much! That is why I got into writing. I also had these strong connections to pieces of work and I would ruminate on them for days. They also gave me a certain feeling in my stomach and I would return to it over and over again.

I just wanted to put something in the world that was kind of like that for some people. I used to think I wanted to do professional publishing. Write something that changed the world. And now, I'm just kind of out here going there are others to do that. I just want to write escapism. Because we all need it from time to time.

I just want to say that I’ve been posting on AO3 for a little over 9 years now, and I noted today that I have a little over 6800 comments in my inbox. (I never delete them except for when I’ve deleted and reposted an older fic) That averages out to about 2 comments every day for 9 years. 🥹 when you think about it, that’s like… a lot. I feel super weird and awful for posting this. I am not trying to call anyone out. I am trying to get us all on the same page.

I know I produce things very slowly these days, and there’s often lot of time between my posts. I hope to always post quality art and stories, and I’m just not able to do that at warp speed anymore. I am at a very different place in life now than I was when I posted my first fic 7 years ago.

I always welcome prompts and suggestions, even when I’m on hiatus. I’m always happy to mull over a new idea, help find something I’ve already written that fits your interest, or just chatter and headcanon and have good fun. I try to reply to everyone, though I do sometimes keep asks in the box so I don’t forget to fill a prompt, if that’s what I’m going to do with it.

Sometimes I initiate prompt games, like story dice or inviting readers to choose a character/situation from a list. For the most part, these are time-sensitive, and the specifics and rules for that game will be listed in an independent post originating from my blog. I love hearing what my readers are interested in, and the expository nature is fun and invigorating. I don’t do games very often anymore, though, due to my slow production speed.

When it comes to monthly challenges, the kind with a daily prompt like whumptober or monthofsick, I try to push out a little more quantity. My goal is always to have fun; I like reading over the prompts and letting my imagination run through different ‘verses and situations. I often have a dedicated notebook where I jot down notes and outlines of what I want to do for each prompt (or if I want to do it or skip it or sub it). For these events, I see it as a daily opportunity for creativity, like Inktober, if you’re also in the art world. The prompts provided by the moderator are tied to the days of the month (though lag and shift both happen), and it’s the creator’s choice as to how to go about addressing each day’s work. Though I welcome audience involvement and asks and comments on fics produced during these events, I would prefer to treat these challenges as I’ve described above—each prompt is tied to a day, and the creator is self-led in producing the coordinating piece. I hope the element of the unknown can add excitement to the audience as it does to the writers.

So, TLDR, Laur feels like a giant ass, but he would prefer to receive asks with prompts either spontaneously or as part of a time-sensitive game originating from his own blog. He would prefer not to receive asks regarding the prompt list for events/monthly challenges.

In no way is this meant to be applied to ask games and memes involving emojis, trivia, facts about me, etc. Please proceed as usual with those.

Or rather, I hope I give you entertainment and you give me the energy back like a nuclear power plant imbuing me with some of the big radioactive stuff (not the legit crap that kills you - oh dear, Rayne), but the metaphorical stuff that turns you into some kind of MARVEL/DC individual whose superpower is to be able to see and hear people talking and walking about the screen in their head (psychiatrist would have a field day with this) and then be able to conceptualise wtf is going on by putting that into words.
