The young blonde with a high ponytail on top of her head sighed and only tightened her hand on the small spoon, on which lay some raspberry yogurt and sweet granola. At the sudden, albeit quiet sound of her name, she only looked at Kotori, and then also at Maki, who was trying to calm the young student’s raging thoughts.
“...Is Honoka doing this on purpose?” She asked quietly, putting down the metal spoon next to the white bowl, and then lowered her head down, muttering a few more words totally incomprehensible to the other two girls.
“You know... I think Honoka knows that you like Y/N, they’ve just been friends since preschool and have known each other for the long, really long time. They are like siblings to each other, but from two different mothers and fathers...” The brown-haired teenager said calmly, and Eli only sighed. “Anyway, from what I heard, Honoka is dating a very lovely boy a year older than her from the high school next door.” She added a little louder, which made the blonde smile broadly, causing her friend to giggle a bit.
“Hmm... But I heard that recently Y/N got an anonymous love letter. I don’t know how true it is, but...” Maki didn’t even finish her statement, and literally two storm clouds appeared over her best friend. Her eyes widened, her mouth pressed into a thin line and her fists clenched again. “I really don’t know if it’s true!”
Eli immediately got up from the uncomfortable wooden chair and walked towards you and young female. The other two girls just grabbed their heads and sighed. Ayase in this state was unstoppable.
“Y-Y/N!” The blue-eyed waved at you, which you quickly returned, then grabbed your smooth hand and pulled you towards the exit. Your cheeks flushed at the warm touch of her hand. You silently apologized to your friend with whom you were having a conversation about the upcoming math test, and then focused all your attention on the other person.
“W-What’s going on?” You asked in shock as you left the cafeteria on the ground floor of the huge high school building. “Eli-chan? Everything’s all right...?”
“I like you!” She said loudly, making your face blush even more; on both cheeks and the entire surface of the nose. For literally a moment you stood in awkward silence, but after a short five seconds you laughed out loud, causing the fair-haired girl to raise one of her eyebrows. Before she could speak and ask what happened, you smiled widely, squeezing her fingers even tighter.
“I like you too.” You said honestly, not just referring to the sincere friendship between the two of you, but also completely different, romantic feelings that have been hidden in your heart for many months.

New CH episodes have made me officially decide to stop caring about the actual cast of the show </3 (/hj but i wish it was /j)
Anyway would you like to share some of your headcanons/scenarios for the side/minor characters ? It always makes my day 💚💖(/nf)
dude i feel you on these new episodes. wtf is going on over there. anyways, i’ll gladly dump this 10 ton stack of headcanons on you that i wrote down!! Marie Antoinette:
loves hyperpop and 90s house music. she’s so slay (i have a playlist lol)
into european weirdo cinema like Gaspar Noe’s but she also likes chick flicks (her fave films are Climax (2018), Daisies (1966), and But I’m A Cheerleader (1999).)
frequents on lolita forums and goes to really shady places just to get cute lolita items.
has absolutely mastered voguing. super into ballroom culture.
has a pet borzoi (those groovy long-nosed dogs.) her name is “Vanille” and Marie loves her dearly.
wants to study fashion. she especially loves Vivienne Westwood and Moschino.
Jesús Cristo:
is a juggalo, and he indoctrinated Van Gogh into it as well.
says “it is what it is” at any minor inconvenience.
had a mental crisis at 13 as a product to the stress of living up to his clone father. similar to joan’s breakdown in s1e3 but 10x worse. he tries to ignore it when people bring it up.
designated driver on any road trip. for some reason.
into bands like The Cure whilst also bopping to Cypress Hill.
his fave video game is Parappa the Rapper.
accidentally punching holes/nails into his hand is a common occurrence. seems like it just keeps happening, so he’s learned to just roll with it. he’s also a pretty good nurse bc of it.
Marilyn Monroe:
is always down for the school play. BUT she usually just does script-writing and tech.
into conspiracy theories and video essays. (all gorgeous gorgeous girls love video essays).
is a dedicated Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani stan.
SO “COQUETTE LIZZY GRANT DIOR RETRO” in her fashion choice.
she also gives “elle woods from legally blonde” vibes. straight A student right here.
CERTIFIED GIRLBOSS <3
Thomas Edison:
is obsessed with American Psycho (2000). he has a poster in his room and he’s weirdly obsessed with Christian Bale (very 🍎🍉🍊 of him, but he always excuses it with “oh no, i just idolize and worship him. there’s absolutely nothing gay ab it.” he’s lying.)
also he’s SUCH a pretentious film bro. he has a whole library of stupid film facts shoved in the back of his mind (im totally not projecting).
he only listens to: 80s new-wave stuff like New Order, Oingo Boingo, Beastie Boys, & Talking Heads OR Lana del Rey. There is no in between.
he worked (past-tense bc that shit is GONE in 2023) at a blockbuster video store next to the mall and he liked being a total bitch to people about it (example: “you really rented this shit? this movie sucks, dude”)
after getting unfreezed, he was ECSTATIC over how easy pirating movies is nowadays.
Napoleon Bonaparte:
member of the speech/debate club and he is THE WORST TO BE PAIRED WITH. he’s foaming at the mouth the moment someone gives a rebuttal he didn’t think of. some meetings end in him trying to beat up someone.
into 80s rock like Metallica and Black Sabbath. he has an electric guitar. he also FUCKING LOVES ABBA AND JAMIROQUAI. like… too much.
unlawfully good at Just Dance. he absolutely fucks it up on the dance floor.
adores fantasy films like Conan (1982) and The Never-Ending Story(1984). he’s so lame/ pos.
he bakes really well. that’s all he’s got going for him.
he either found his napoleonic military uniform at party city or at a thrift store with Marie Antoinette; his story changes depending on who he’s talking to.
he cut his own hair when he was 14. the following conversation after he did so was with caesar, and it was just the haircut scene from fleabag . he then continued to keep his stupid haircut to what it is now.
is a hopeless romantic. he can make up entire love poems & sonnets in his head about a girl he’s crushing on, but literally cannot talk to people without sounding like a douchebag unless he’s super comfortable w/ them.
Ivan the Terrible:
is an avid deftones, sewerslvt, & duster listener (i, unfortunately, ALSO have a playlist.)
spends his nights scrolling on 4chan and arguing w/ people. him & topher have accidentally argued w/ each other AT LEAST 5 times.
literally refuses to take off his ushanka in any weather. it doesn’t matter to him if it’s 90 degrees, that thing is staying ON.
kins Travis Bickle and Shinji Ikari. i mean, just look at this dude and how he presents himself. average NGE & Taxi Driver enjoyer/ hj.
fave video games are Postal 2 and osu!. he plays osu! phenomenally, to the point where it’s impressive. (pls put that energy into a job or something).
and yea that’s all the energy i have to write this down :]

Hello! Just want to say again that I'm glad I found your blog, your down-to-earth commentary, especially about the business side of it all, is very much appreciated :)
Hi. Thank you for letting me know, I'm glad you find some more down to earth posts useful. In part, I run this blog to offer an alternative in fandom experience.
Thing is, we, as k-pop fans and as people who don't work in showbusiness or South Korea, don't have enough knowledge, experience or inside information to have a strong educated opinion on most of things when it comes to idol companies and their executives. We can have opinions as customers - I like this music, this promotional strategy works on me, these outfits are ugly, this concept rocks -, but not as business analytics. Especially considering how much media play, false information and difference in cultures we face.
However, nowadays everyone has the illusion that they know better, that their opinion and feelings are valid when it comes to any topic. And spread and defend their opinion like it is the ultimate truth.
I've recently come across a twit starting with "it appears that" and ending with "for sure". In a span of a few sentences the fan offered an imaginary scenario and finished with a "this is truth". Of course to "prove" that SM is evil, heh. Such baseless statements easily play on fans' love for their biases, evoke an emotional response, call to arms, they give an answer to "Who is to blame?!", provide a target for unleashing frustration and anger.
When one solo-stan blames our bias, we can call bullshit because we know how things really are. When a fan blames Chris Lee or SM, other fans are ready to accept the words as believeable. Either because they share the sentiment, or have no own opinion on the matter, so any will do. If everyone around says the same thing, it should be true, afterall? That's how our brains are wired: follow the majority, agree with the tribe, mirror everyone's current emotion.
We can't see the inner works and we don't know the inner rules, but we can see the results of labour and sometimes a reflection of things.
When I came to k-pop, I knew SM as the company that overworks its artists, has lawsuits with them, is super strict. Broken in two halves TVXQ and EXO with half of its members gone weren't a good representation. So when I started to get to know NCT better, I started to wonder if I was lied to or that something had changed in SM (the latter). Neos were taught how to songwrite, SM persisted with good quality music for NCT despite the group not taking off right away, artists not looking slavelike, there was SMstation and interesting projects.
Sure, I can observe bad work: poorly prepared concerts (Link), constant failures with album production (omitting Doyoung's name, boring designs for 127), tasteless stylists, etc. However, I also see good work: artists flying first/business class and living in 5 star hotels, being given opportunity to go to the beach, museums, to enjoy sightseeing in new countries; opportunity to explore one's creativity (soundcloud, NCTLabs, solo performances for Link); SM giving artists second professions (MC, variety host, model) that will aid professional longevity (Doyoung hasn't finished school and doesn't have a degree, but I'm not worried for him, even if SM collapses, he'll always find a job. Same for Taeyong, he came as a blank page, now he is a songwriter and a producer, he can even become a choreographer); neos progressively being given more choice and say, their opinion being consulted and their ideas being implemented once they gain enough experience (Golden Dust story, Taeyong making his own setlist for his concert, Doyoung saying Unity should not have solo-stages, Ten choosing the mood and genre for his solo, etc).
Most importantly, I can see many friendships between neos and producers/managers, and that Haechan and Doyoung, who experienced all of SM's downsides personally and not once, continue to like the company. Meaning, the good should outweight the bad. At least for now.
Fans learnt the name of Chris Lee and continue to blame him for everything to this day, although he doesn't own any shares in SM and has stopped being a CEO a year ago. He is a token scapegoat.
Should I blindly trust fans or should I go read Wikipedia, interviews and listen to the guy himself? In situations like these I always choose the latter.
Sure, I can't tell if he evades taxes or participates in shady business, and what neos think of him (aside from Doyoung calling him "hyung" in public and not being afraid of getting punished for it), but I can see he was the person who overlooked all the early NCT songs (we have "Limitless", "Cherry bomb" thanks to him); created SMStation and SMClassics (say thank you for "Try again", "Star blossom"); found Dem Jointz ("Kick it", "Punch", "Sticker") and multiple other songwriters who now work for SM; brought to Korea the idea of songwriting camps, in which Kun participates nowadays and where he befriends foreign creators; invested SM money into a publishing company (and not a winery or a hotel business), which means SM artists will be secured to have a lot of songs to choose from in the future, and Korean young producers will have access to the global market. He has been with SM close to 20 years, and he is evidently a music nerd, ergo he understands artists and their love for music. So why should I hate him? I have no proof of him taking money away from neos, but I have evidence he was very essential to formation of NCT and the quality of SM sound being maintained. On the contrary, I'm inclined to suspect the quality of albums (song setlist, production) is raising again because he is back to supervising A&R in SM.

"Ditto" & "Melty Land Nightmare": Allegories for Idol/Fan Relationships.
TLDR: "Ditto" by Newjeans and "Melty Land Nightmare" by More More Jump are about the way parasocial relationships can be toxic to both fans and content creators (in this case, idols). While "Ditto" encourages fans to look outside of the escapism of K-pop for happiness, "Melty Land Nightmare," when covered by More More Jump, encourages idols to not sacrifice their own happiness and well-being simply to fulfill the heavy expectations of being an idol (i.e. bringing happiness to their fans).
"Ditto" is sung by Newjeans, a K-pop group known for their youthful charm and y2k aesthetic. The music video features the Newjeans girls as typical Korean middle school students, laughing and dancing and going to school until it is revealed, in the end, that they never existed. "Melty Land Nightmare" is by Harumaki Gohan, a Japanese VOCALOID producer whose songs have vague but intriguing storylines. This one is about an unhappy human girl (i.e. Blue Girl) struggling with nightmares and a half-human, half-baku girl named Melty who consumes her dreams and brings her comfort.
While "Ditto" is clearly about the parasocial relationship between idols and fans--with Newjeans encouraging their fans to enjoy real life instead of relying on the escapism of K-pop for temporary happiness--"Melty Land Nightmare" is not. I would argue that "Melty Land Nightmare" does not at all have anything to do with idols, actually, unless you play Project Sekai.
More More Jump, the cutesy idol group of Project Sekai, covers a wide range of Vocaloid songs, from uplifting ones like "Happy Synthesizer" to sadder ones like "Shoujo Rei." "Melty Land Nightmare" is a song that sounds pretty but, once you look at the lyrics, turns out to be kind of sad, much like another MMJ cover that I really love (i.e. "Patchwork Staccato").
When viewed in the context of More More Jump, "Melty Land Nightmare" has a similar tone to "Ditto": From the way Melty checks in with Blue Girl about her nightmares ("Did your mother say something to you? Was somebody in class cold to you?") to the way she holds the Blue Girl close, it is clear that Melty is a place of escapism for Blue Girl. Just like Ban Heesoo, the main character of "Ditto", would rather spend all her days recording videos of the Newjeans girls instead of living in reality, Blue Girl visits Melty every night to avoid real life. Both of these scenarios show that parasocial relationships, when taken to the extreme, can be unhealthy. This is why the Newjeans girls disappear at the end of "Ditto" - because they are just idols, just people, and they cannot be your reason for living.
"Melty Land Nightmare" is a fitting allegory for More More Jump because when Blue Girl disappears from Melty Land, having been cured of nightmares, Melty falls apart. She begs Blue Girl not to forget her as if she has no purpose now that Blue Girl is gone. Unlike the Newjeans girls' casual acceptance (and encouragement!) that they cannot be your reason to live, the MMJ girls struggle (at least initially) with not being your reason to live. From Haruka quitting ASRUN when she fails to save a teammate, Shizuku leaving Cheerful*days due to toxic competitiveness, and Airi being told she'll only make it big on variety shows, all three girls give up their dreams when they realize that they are not enough--not enough to save their Blue Girl, or worse, enough to save the Blue Girl but not enough to keep her around.
In our digital age, it's hard to not care about what people think. We are obsessed with the likes, comments, and reblogs on our posts, obsessed with being loved by strangers on the internet. While Haruka, Shizuku, and Airi's original purpose of being idols are noble (i.e. inspiring hope for others), it becomes convoluted due to the bureaucracy, politics, and jealousy of the idol industry. Plagued with imposter syndrome and guilt, these former idols stay disillusioned until they met their own idol: Minori, a former Blue Girl on a mission to become Melty. She inspires Haruka to become an idol again not by asking her to save someone else, but by showing her an ocean of blue, which reminds Haruka acutely of her original mission and how much she loves performing. And that, my friends, is how More More Jumps thrives: Outside of the system as freelance idols, where their mission is always clear, always real. Where bringing hope to others depends heavily on bringing hope to themselves.

Poltergeist Chapter 5
Madara: I've been wondering about this for a while—I’ve only encountered the staff members who are working in this place so far, but where are the thirty kids who're also supposed to be living here?
Scenario Writer: Akira Season: Winter Characters: Mikejima Madara, Sakasaki Natsume, Aoba Tsumugi, Narukami Arashi
Tumblr media
Madara: Hmmm? Tsumugi-san and Arashi-san, are the both of you involved in this project, too?
Tumblr media
Natsume: That’s correCT. I, Mikejima-senpai, Kaminari-san—that’s Narukami Arashi-kun—the mop-headed youkai, and the little kitten—
All in aLL, five of us have been dispatched from ES to this Dancing Cranes Home.
Madara: Hmm? From Knights, there’s only Arashi-san participating; whereas from Switch, Sora-san’s the only one who’s missing.
Even for a lineup of idols limited by agency to NEWDI, it’s a reeeally skewed—or I should say—strange selection of people, isn’t it?
Natsume: FufU. Our Sora doesn’t quite fit the image of a typical nursery school teacher at aLL, you sEE~. HowevER, if there had been a role for an adorable child to be plaYED, he would've been be a perfect maTCH.
Madara: Kids his age are gonna start acting up if you treat them as children aaall the time, you know?
Natsume: YeS, I do know iT. HowevER, Sora has announced his intention to complete all the big-name games that have been released this Winter season over the New Year holidAYS.
That kid is always tap-tapping away at his portable game console even when on-siTE, but still he saID, “This is the only time Sora will have to sit down and conquer such big games”—with an unusually serious look on his faCE.
I love games tOO, but I simply can’t match his passiON.
Tumblr media
Arashi: Sigh. That Unit of mine is a lost cause, there’s absolutely no saving them at all. Did you know~, while we were exchanging New Year's greetings in Knights, I tried rallying them to come be nursery school teachers with Mama, however—
Their reactions were basically like, “Huh? I don’t get what you’re saying at all? Go and die?”—like that.
Tsumugi: Ahaha. That’s precisely the response I’d expect from Knights. It doesn’t fit your Unit's image at all, and if anything, I’m honestly surprised that you agreed to participate, Narukami-kun!
Tumblr media
Arashi: Ufufu. I’ve always dreamt of working in a job like this, watching over little children with a loving smile on my face, laughing joyfully together as we play among the flower fields… … ♪
And after that, all of us holding hands in friendship, staying by each other’s side forever and ever… … ♪
Madara: Hahaha! In that kind of scenario, aren’t you more likely to be mistaken for a kidnapper insteaaad?
Arashi: Stop it! Who is going to be mistaken for what again!?
Tumblr media
Tsumugi: Now, now, let’s not start fighting, please. Let’s all get along. We must not create a tense atmosphere in front of these sensitive children, no matter what.
There’s no telling the long-term effects such an atmosphere might have on the children’s psyches, you know?
Natsume: That’s your first-hand experience speakING, isn't iT, “Tsumugi-niisan”?
Tsumugi: Yes~. It really takes me back. I'm not sure if anyone’s aware of this, but I used to help out at an idol training school managed by my mother—
And though an idol training school and a children’s welfare home differ in many ways, I’m still considered an experienced hand in this line of work, so do feel free to rely on me.
Tumblr media
Madara: Umu! We have a pretty dependable line-up of people here. It seems like there's no one, except for me, who would go out of their way to cause trouble. All things considered, I think it won’t be a problem for us to perform our respective roles seriously and smoothly here.
However—and I've been wondering about this for a while—I’ve only encountered the staff members who are working in this place so far, but where are the thirty kids who're also supposed to be living here?
Arashi: Oh, about that, ufufu~ ♪ The children of this facility are going to throw a welcome party for us, the newly appointed staff members!
They informed me that when all the new staff members have gathered, we should make our way to the Music Hall in the courtyard of this facility.
It looks like the children will be putting up a performance with the songs and dances they’ve learnt during their time here!
Tumblr media
Madara: Hmmm, a welcome party for the new staff, huh? For the children to come up with an idea like that of their own initiative, it seems the children in this facility are all reeeally good kids, huh!
Natsume: WeLL, it’s entirely possible that they’re doing this reluctantLY, because the staff members working here have instructed them to do sO.
Mikejima-senpai, as I’ve already told you many times befoRE, the cameras are already rolliNG.
We’re being recorded from all directiONS, with small hidden cameras and droNES—
—which will gather the footage that'll eventually be edited and broadcast when the programme finally aiRS.
NaturaLLY, if the production team only manages to capture footage of us performing mundane taSKS, the programme won’t be engaging at aLL. ThUS, it's entirely possible the production team might be setting up various scenarios for us to encountER, you knOW?
Tumblr media
Madara: HAA~aa. You mean there’s a possibility of heartwarming scenes being shoehorned in, like—“Oh! The idols are shedding tears of joy after being welcomed by the adorable children with open arms ♪”—like that.
That’s reeeally annoying, in so many ways.
My objective, or rather, my mission this time, is to portray a motherly image for the cameras, which is what MaM is supposed to be all about. However, deliberately staging family bonds simply reeks of excessive theatrics.
Natsume: You’re just full of objectiONS, aren’t yOU?
By the wAY, I should mention that the filming for this project is scheduled to take place only during this New Year holiday periOD(1). If we negotiaTE, we might be able to extend it to slightly more than a weEK, howevER—
—establishing a good rapport with the facility’s children to deliver the “touching drama” the viewers are expecting in such a short time will require a bit of setUP, don’t you thiNK?
Tumblr media
Madara: Alright, fine. For a programme set in an orphanage, it’s indeed inevitable for “emotionally touching” scenes to be what the main focus is all about—
The bonds that unite us all, how great humanity is! Hooray for humanism!
Hahaha. Those are the things furthest from what I’m reeeally about, though... ...

okay i can't get it out of my mind - tini dump about kate cinderella girls, and my dreams for both international girls and the producer ( aka developing oc man )
the international / foreign girls in imas: cinderella girls (as far as i'm aware) are Frederica Miyamoto (french-japanese, voiced), Yao Fueifuei (hong kong, unvoiced), Clarice (vague european (personally french or dutch inspo), unvoiced), Anastasia (russian-japanese, voiced), Layla (Dubai / UAE, voiced), Kate (London / England, unvoiced), Helen (vague european / american (personally italian / mexican inspo), unvoiced), Natalia (Rio de Janeiro / Brazil, voiced), Eve Santaclaus (Greenland, voiced), Cathy Graham (american-japanese (born in new york but has lived in japan) unvoiced), and Mary Cochran (San Francisco / America, unvoiced). I don't include Shiki here because, although she studied in American, she's Japanese and isn't from anywhere over there. I also don't include the three Korean-exclusive deresute characters since they're discontinued after that server shut down (but also shoutout to them I love them too). However they are all side characters, just not a part of the project.
Kate is my favorite unvoiced girl, specifically because our names are similar, as well as slight backstory stuff (her love for her parents; "She's an exceedingly friendly and social person, often greeting everyone she passes by. She's also very touchy in comparison to other idols, enjoying giving others hugs or kisses to show her affection." from her wiki page / events, very me coded). So, in my International Girls imas cingirls idea, Kate is the true protagonist, with Natalia being the leader of the group and acts like a dual protagonist. While she's not the first of the international girls to be voiced (that order being Anya > Freddy > Natalia way later > Layla > Eve most recently as of literally Christmas; congrats to her cingirl first place), I wanna give Natalia bunches of love and more spotlight to get fleshed out as a character as well, as well as her and Kate becoming besties. The International Girls story would just be them forming into a unit, learning to appreciate their differences as well as come to feel like a cohesive unit despite them, and ultimately proving themselves as idols on the stage.
The Producer for that idea, in my mind, is Lotus Juice (LotusP, if you will), since he's proven himself in his own field, is from New Jersey and fluent in both english and japanese, and is also in a duo unit with TakeP aka Takeuchi Shunsuke aka the producer for cinderella girls, so it all just make sense in my mind. Story-wise - LotusP gets invited to the job after TakeP offers it to him as a friendly favor, since they both went to college together and / or went up in the ranks together before TakeP started raising idols / doing his cinderella girls "power of smile" project. Inspired by him, and not wanting to look a gifted horse in the mouth, the rougher and older man accepts, with TakeP being his occasional talking partner for advice. LotusP, in my mind, is suddenly named Austin in my mind (don't ask why idk). And he just kinda acts like Lotus Juice (chill older guy who seems kinda gruff, but is really mature), yet also has like a rough tsun thing going as he's not at all good with taking compliment, and gets dragged into scenarios and forced to play the straight man for gags. It's almost like he doesn't want to be a producer, but he needs a job and wants to stay in the music biz, but he ultimately takes his job (taking care of all the girls' and their schedules, as well as personally helping with some of their songs' production) very seriously.
Another thing I wanted to look into for a bit of drama is idol v school life, specifically as Kate is an international study abroad uni student that becomes an idol. In the end, like in her stories, she proves to her dad that she can be an idol and go to school, and at the very end she graduates and becomes an idol full time. Freddy is also in college for design; she can graduate too as a treat. It also makes me want to make Kate/Nat/Freddy triple protags, as it fills out the kind of NewGen-esque protags the original cingirls had, as well as I think they'd make good friends.
(Also, if anyone asks, Layla's backstory of running away from a planned marriage to Japan with the support of her mother but keeping the father in the dark...I literally just learned that TODAY, which was WILD, and yes in my plotline idk if I wanna explore that or just ignore that so! Hmm!!!!)
Also the eleven full group's unit song would be titled "Universal Parade", after the unit in the mobage game (which originally consists of CathyNatKateMaryFreYao), and their outfits would be similar to the unit "Your Friends" (NatKateMary) outfit set in the original mobage as well (without the fluffy bit or with the fluffy bit reincorporated somehow).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also the actual outfits for NatLayla's unit "Sol Qamar" is very cool.

Randomized Fanfic
All characters and scenarios are randomized
Writing is done by an AI program
Project Sekai
Characters selected: Ichika Hoshino & Rin Kagamine
Scenario: Ichika asks Rin to play a song for her
"Melody of Friendship"
Ichika Hoshino, a passionate singer from Project Sekai, nervously walked through the bustling hallways of the School SEKAI. She had a special request in her heart, one that she hoped would bring her closer to her idol, Rin Kagamine.
With a determined resolve, Ichika sought out Rin in the music room. As she entered, she found Rin engrossed in playing a hauntingly beautiful melody on the piano. The sound resonated deeply within Ichika's heart, making her even more determined to ask for a favor.
Taking a deep breath, Ichika approached Rin with a smile. "Um, Rin-san, your music is incredible. I was hoping... could you play a song for me?" she asked, her voice filled with both nervousness and anticipation.
Rin looked up, her turquoise eyes sparkling with curiosity. "A song for you, Ichika? Of course! What would you like to hear?"
Ichika's face flushed with excitement as she found the courage to make her request. "I would be honored if you could play 'A Song for You' by the Vocaloid P, kz," she replied, her voice filled with admiration.
Rin's eyes widened in surprise. "Ah! That's one of my favorite songs too! I'd love to play it for you, Ichika," she said, flashing a warm smile.
Together, they walked towards the grand piano in the corner of the room. Rin positioned herself comfortably on the stool while Ichika stood beside her, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement.
As Rin's fingers danced across the keys, a beautiful melody filled the room. The music was like a gentle embrace, soothing Ichika's worries and bringing a sense of joy to her heart. She closed her eyes, allowing the music to envelop her entirely.
When the song reached its final note, Ichika opened her eyes to find Rin smiling at her. "Thank you, Rin-san," Ichika whispered, her voice filled with gratitude and happiness. "That was absolutely amazing."
Rin chuckled softly. "No, thank you, Ichika. Your request allowed me to share this special moment with you. Your voice is incredible, and I believe we could make beautiful music together someday."
Ichika's heart swelled with determination and a newfound sense of friendship. "I would love that, Rin-san. Let's create melodies that will resonate with everyone's hearts."
And so, a bond of friendship was formed between Ichika Hoshino and Rin Kagamine, two talented voices in the School SEKAI. Their shared love for music would continue to inspire and bring joy to both their lives and the lives of those who listened.

May I, one day, become your ideal heroine
-A Shizuku love story-
Summary:  Ōsaka Shizuku is a first-year transfer student currently enrolled in Nijigasaki High, where she moved to pursue her dream of being a school idol. However, after the School Idol Club was fractured, each member went her own way and Shizuku decides to use her passion for acting to give better performances; after starting to train in the theatre club, one day in a deserted hallway, she meets her destiny...
Pairing: Shizuku x Anata-chan (ShizuAnata)
Word count: 5960
A/N: As some of you might’ve guessed, this is a songfic based on Shizuku’s song, “Anata no Risou no Heroine.” This is the first thing I’ve ever written for the Love Live fandom, so I’m super nervous posting it >_< I’ve already posted it on A03 if you want to check it out, I would be really glad if you left a comment telling me what you thought about it <3 hope you enjoy!
“Ouch!”
“After school, when everyone has left, in the corner of a hallway,
the dance hall is my own - a stage no one else knows of.”
With her back against the cold floor, Shizuku found herself staring at the ceiling. She closed her eyes and let herself rest for a second, sweat running down her forehead as her chest rose and fell. Shizuku knew it was late – she didn’t know how late, but she couldn’t hear any noise coming from the nearby theatre, and that was indication enough that most students had gone home, but not her. No, for the last few weeks she had made the hallway her own private dance floor instead, a stage where she could practice as much as she needed.
She couldn’t go back to the School Idol Club yet, after all.
Shizuku thought back at what had happened; they couldn’t put their creative differences aside, and that drove them apart. They couldn’t become one, so Shizuku had to practice more.
She started being a school idol because she wanted to improve her acting and stage presence, but something odd happened: she found herself enjoying it more than she thought she would. She looked forward to the afternoons of practice in the club, and she didn’t want to give up just because they were all different people. She just needed to get better, so she could bring more to the club. She could use her acting skills to give a better performance, she was sure of it!
That’s why she worked as hard as she could in the theatre club during the day, and she did her best by herself, practicing her dancing and singing in the hallway when everyone else was gone. Just a little more, and she could…
“Uhm, excuse me? Are you okay?!”
A voice suddenly called for her, and it made her eyes open abruptly. Her body reflexively shot up; was it a teacher? Did she get in trouble? She was ready to bow her head and apologize, but…
“Oh, I’m so sorry! Did I startle you? It’s just, you were lying there and you weren’t moving, and I thought I’d heard someone fall down… did you hit your head? Are you okay?”
It was a student she had never seen before, which wasn’t that surprising, considering how big Nijigasaki High was. The girl standing before her had a cool and unbothered vibe, but her eyes had a hint of concern to them. She was staring at Shizuku with her brows furrowed, and that’s when she realized she had just been gaping at her like an idiot without answering.
“O-Oh! Uhm, I’m fine, don’t worry! I was just… resting?” She stuttered, while blushing. Why was she so nervous? “I apologize if I worried you… I promise I’m alright.”
The girl sighed. “That’s good to hear!” She smiled. It was the brightest smile Shizuku had ever seen in her life. “Are you from the theatre club? You guys must practice hard…”
“Well… sort of!” Shizuku let out a light laugh; it’s not like she was lying! “By the way… I’m Ōsaka Shizuku, I’m a first-year transfer student. What’s your name?”
The girl smiled again as she took Shizuku’s hand in hers and shook it a little. “I’m a second-year. My name is…”
“It was a day like any other. I was practicing by myself,
and covered in sweat, when you happened to pass by…”
“That’s such a coincidence, though!  Ah-ah, who would’ve thought you were one of the ‘lost members’ of the School Idol Club?”
Shizuku blushed slightly, as she walked side-by-side with the dark-haired girl. It was an incredible coincidence. There is no way she could’ve predicted that the girl standing by her side would become their club president in the span of a few days. When she was practicing her play on stage and she saw Her and Kasumi in the audience (and Ayumu, but she didn’t know her yet at the time) she almost thought her heart would stop beating. Or start beating so hard it would come out of her chest. One of the two options.
Shizuku had no idea why she was feeling this way. Surely, the fact that she was a senpai was a bit intimidating, but she had no problems with her upperclassmen in the theatre club, or the other members of the School Idol Club. But this girl, who had gotten so concerned about her even though she was just a stranger at the time, who loved school idols so much she single-handedly managed to bring all the members back and find new ones, she was… special.
“Oh, I just remembered! I started working on your songs.” That snapped Shizuku out of her thoughts. The songs! “I’m almost finished with Ayumu’s, and I was planning on working on yours next…”
That was another reason why Shizuku thought she was amazing. They had asked their president to write songs for each of them to enter the school idol competition, and unsurprisingly, she was already done with the first one. She had never heard her play anything, but she was sure it would be… wait, had she just said she wanted to work on her song next?
“M-my song?” She uttered.
“Yes! I already know a bit about you, but I was wondering what kind of song you would like me to write. I want to get to know you better so I can write a good song that really feels like… it’s yours.”
That got Shizuku blushing. She wanted to get to know her better? She knew it was just about the song, but there was a fairly big part of her that was hoping it would lead to something more. She didn’t know what her feelings were yet, but she couldn’t ignore them. She also wanted to get to know her president better, and she couldn’t shake off the feeling that she could do something more for her.
While the perspective of receiving a song specifically written for her by her favourite upperclassman was thrilling, Shizuku wanted to do something herself. She had been practicing a lot lately, in the club and in her spare time. She learnt a lot in the theatre club every single day, and she wanted to put that knowledge to good use, for the club. Wasn’t that the reason she left in the first place? So she could pursue her passions and find a way to combine them, so she could find a way to become more useful to both her clubs.
“Senpai!” The words left her mouth all on their own, as Shizuku’s feet came to a stop. “I know you are writing the songs and I appreciate it a lot. We all do. It’s really kind of you, you’re always supporting us and doing so much for us and it’s not like I don’t trust you, I just…” “You want to help me write it?” She didn’t look offended at all. That was a relief. “I wouldn’t mind that at all. How about this? Since the main part I need to help with is the music, how about you write the lyrics?”
“The lyrics?” She pondered it for a bit. She could write lyrics! At least, she thought she could. “Yes! That would be great. I would love to.”
“Great! Then it’s settled!” And with that, she flashed Shizuku one of her signature smiles.
She let out a breath. She could do this. Working with the older girl was even better than she could’ve hoped. This song wouldn’t be just hers, but theirs. Now, she just had to figure out what she would write. She had never written scenarios in the theatre club, but she did have some experience with writing poetry from her literature class.
When Shizuku got home that night, she sat at her desk and looked at the blank paper. As she played with her pencil, a familiar face made its way in her mind, and she could hardly think of anything else after that. She took a deep breath and started writing. She looked over at the words she had just jotted down: “Your ideal heroine.”
“Every time we talk, a feeling in my chest starts overflowing,
it’s like watching a good comedy, and I'm enveloped in happiness.”
“Aaaand that’s a wrap!” Ai yelled excitedly.
The School Idol Club had been hard at practice for the last couple of days, in prospect of the competition. There was only one week left to perfect their choreographies and practice their singing, so it wasn’t a strange occurrence that even after rehearsals had ended, two or three members stayed behind to get in a little extra practice. Maybe Kasumi felt like she was on a roll that day and decided to make more progress, or maybe Karin got fired up after seeing Setsuna practice and said she didn’t want to lose.
Shizuku was usually among the members who stayed behind, practicing hard to make sure her song, that she had created with her upperclassman, was as perfect as possible.
“Are you going to stay behind today too, Shizuku?” A voice called her.
It was Her. Even if she wasn’t a school idol, she always made sure to watch their practice closely and cheer them on, and she often stayed behind whenever anyone else was staying, too.
“Ah, yes. There is only one week left before the competition, after all, and I think my choreography still needs some work… I really want to win, so we can go to the School Idol Festival.”
“Not fair, Shizuko! If you become too good… no, Kasumin is the best idol in the universe! I cannot let myself be upstaged! I will stay behind and practice, too.”
“But, KasuKasu! You, Rina-ri and I have plans, remember? We were gonna go to Harajuku and eat crêpes!”
“Aaaaaah no, don’t call me KasuKasu! No more Kasu, it’s forbidden! Call me Kasumin!”
“Rina-chan Board says: sad…”
“R-Rinako…! Ugh, fine. Just because we already had plans, and Kasumin always keeps her word. But Shizuko, you just wait! I will show you what I’m capable of tomorrow!”
“Sure…” Shizuku chuckled. She stayed silent during most of the conversation, watching her friends make a ruckus. Thinking about them, she found herself smiling without meaning to: she truly treasured her time in the school idol club, and she couldn’t help but smile thinking about their daily little arguments, and how unique each and every one of them was.
She looked over their practice room, and aside from Ai, Rina and Kasumi playing around, she noticed that everyone was kind of in a hurry, particularly Ayumu, who was frantically whispering something to their club president in a corner. Curiosity got the best of Shizuku, and she couldn’t help but wonder what they were talking about. The club president looked… nervous? The conversation looked very intimate, which only made Shizuku wish she was part of it more. An unfamiliar feeling found its way to her chest, and it made her insides hurt a little bit. Was she… jealous of Ayumu?
Suddenly, Shizuku’s hands flew to her face and she smacked herself a little, while simultaneously turning around to prevent anyone from realizing she was having an internal crisis of sorts. The realization, or rather the wish not to realize how big and scary her feelings had become, brought her back to reality and she was grateful for that, at least. She had to concentrate on her practice, and she couldn’t let negative feelings produced by her own imagination affect her performance, or even worse, her relationship with her fellow school idols. Ayumu was a really sweet girl, and Shizuku liked her a lot! She was kind, considerate, hard-working…
“So, it looks like it’s going to be just you and me today.” The club president flashed her a smile. Had she gotten lost in her thoughts again? That happened often, lately.
“What about Setsuna-san? She always stays late!” Shizuku inquired, a slight hint of concern in her voice. No one loved being a school idol more than Setsuna did, and she showed it every day at practice. For her not to be there, it must have been a pretty big deal.
“She said she had something to do with her parents. You know they are a little… strict. Then, Karin has a photoshoot, Kanata is going to check on Haruka, who had a slight fever this morning. She was worried sick. Emma is face-timing her siblings tonight, and Ayumu is, uh…” The older girl appeared unsure for a moment, “picking up her costume from the tailor? …Yes, she had a couple last-minute adjustments made; she was very excited about the details she added! Then, well, you heard about Kasumi, Rina and Ai.”
Shizuku tried her best not to think about the glimpse of conversation she had caught between the club president and Ayumu, and she tried her best not to connect it to her upperclassman’s uncertainty and light pink-coloured cheeks.
“O-oh, but senpai! You don’t need to stay behind just for me. You should go home and rest…”
“No way! I love watching your performances, Shizuku. You’re so… expressive. Besides, we wrote this song together,” she chuckled “so I really want to hear you sing it. Please, let me cheer you on.”
And how could she refuse?
What neither of them realized, was that a certain peach-haired girl had been quietly listening in on their conversation, and she was making a mental note to update her accomplices on the “progress” they had made that day, while she smiled to herself.
She looked at her best friend in the world, whom she had known since they were children, and whispered to herself: “What am I going to do with those two…?”
“Unlike all the times before, my practicing alone
doesn't feel so harsh ever since I've met you.”
As the date of the competition drew closer and closer, Shizuku’s anxiety grew stronger and stronger.
It was the day before the dreaded competition, or, to be more specific, it was the night before the competition. Shizuku felt like she had done everything she could in terms of practice; she had stayed late as much as she could, and she put all of her love in her song. Why was she so nervous, then?
She was excited at the perspective of competing for the School Idol Festival, but she was afraid of making a mistake. What if she messed up the choreography? What if her lyrics were simply not good enough? The perspective was frightening.
Deep down, though, she knew it wasn’t the only frightening thing that could await her on the next day. The song she had written… it was deeply related to her senpai. One could say her feelings for the upperclassman were the true protagonists of the composition. And while she had seen Shizuku practice her dance with the other girls and she had heard her practice singing some of the tougher parts at times, she had never heard the complete version.
Once she heard that, there weren’t any doubts in Shizuku’s mind that she would immediately catch on, and she feared, no, dreaded her reaction. The song was pretty obviously about her feelings towards the upperclassman, but what if she didn’t feel the same way? While she did treat Shizuku with kindness, that was just one of the traits of her character. She was kind to everyone, and she cared about everyone in the School Idol Club. Shizuku was probably not even the one she was closest to, that would have been Ayumu. And she usually spent the most time with Kasumi anyway.
Sigh. Shizuku doubted she had a chance with someone as great as her. She didn’t know why, but she was overcome with the sudden need of hearing her voice; she was always so considerate, she would have probably known what to say to calm Shizuku’s nerves.
And just as that thought crossed her mind, her phone started ringing, a familiar face appearing on the screen, making Shizuku go from pensive to flustered in the span of a second.
“H-hello? Is something the matter, senpai? You are not the type to call so late.” Shizuku said as she picked up her phone.
“Hi! No, I guess I just… wanted to hear your voice. How are you feeling? Nervous about the competition?”
Had she just said she wanted to hear her voice? Shizuku forgot how to breathe for a solid minute. Then, she remembered she still had to answer.
“Definitely, yes… I’m just… afraid, I suppose.” Shizuku whispered, voice suddenly getting smaller.
“Afraid?” Replied the older girl, a surprised tone in her voice. She had accounted for anxiety, but not for fear. “What are you afraid of?”
“Where to begin? I’m afraid I will make a mistake and ruin everything… after all, I’m not talented like Setsuna-san, or cheerful like Ai-san, or… good-looking like Karin-san…” She said the last part so softly, she wasn’t sure the other girl had heard her.
“That’s nonsense, Shizuku. You’re not Ai or Setsuna, you’re you and you have your own charm. Wasn’t that the point of performing as solo idols? So you could find your own way to shine… I love your performances because they are full of life and incredibly expressive. Your movements are so captivating I can’t take my eyes off you.”
Shizuku could do nothing but listen, dumbfounded, as she heard the girl she was in love with go on and on.
“Besides, you’re not alone, Shizuku. You might have the stage for yourself, but there is going to be nine of us there with you, who have your back. No matter what happens, I’m going to be in the first row, cheering you on. I will be there with you.”
Yes, please be with me. “Senpai… there is something I want to tell you tomorrow. With my performance.” Shizuku took a deep breath. “Please look at me, and listen to my song.”
After a few seconds of silence, the answer came clear on the other line. “I will.”
“The expressiveness I've since lacked, I now have.
The curtain is rising quietly on the second chapter of my story.”
The Nijigasaki High School Idol Club had made plans to meet at the entrance of the school, where the minibus they had rented awaited them. They loaded it with everything they might need, other than their costumes and props, and they all rode it together to the site of the competition.
When they arrived, the club president, followed closely by Ayumu, went to check them in and get their badges. Even though it was very early in the morning and it was still a couple hours before the competition started, there were already plenty of people outside. Shizuku knew a direct ticket to the main stage of the School Idol Festival was a very big deal and an incredibly demanded prize, but her imagination had failed to predict just how many people would turn up to witness some of the most famous school idols in the country compete against each other.
Shizuku started feeling self-conscious again. Ever since they stepped off the bus, she kept spotting notorious school idols here and there, she was sure some were even on TV at some point. Did she even have what it takes to compete with such amazing groups?
No, she couldn’t let herself have those kinds of thoughts again. She recalled her phone call from yesterday and reminded herself of the fact that she was not alone. All her friends were there… and She was there, too. She was supporting her, and she promised that she would listen to what Shizuku had to say… so, she had nothing to be scared of.
“Sorry everyone! There was a line at the registration desk…”
Her senpai. She loved their club president more than she loved anyone else in the entire world. She clutched the hems of her skirt tightly as they made her way to their dressing room. It was fairly big and well-lit, with enough make-up stations for all of them.
The atmosphere was heavy, and thick enough to be cut with a knife; as each one of them went off doing her own thing, Shizuku stepped in one of the dressing areas. She finished getting dressed and took one last look at her costume as she twirled around in front of the mirror, before she stepped out. She let herself smile a little; she loved her dress. Now, only hair and make-up were left, maybe she should ask Karin for help? Her hair always looked amazing.
As she left her dressing space, she locked eyes with their club president, and looked away immediately without really meaning to.
“Wow…” said the older girl, “just… wow.” She sighed.
Shizuku grew more and more self-conscious under her gaze. “Do you like it…?” She asked, referencing her costume.
“I love it. It really suits you...” she replied, finally tearing her gaze away from Shizuku, and focusing it on anything else, really.
Shizuku’s cheeks grew a deep burgundy colour as she grabbed her skirt again, and her senpai covered her face with her hands. What was happening? Shizuku was sure her brain had short-circuited.
“What are you doing?” Kasumi inquired loudly.
“No, Kasumi-chan! I told you to leave them alone!”
Shizuku turned around, and she could see the older girl desperately trying to stop the younger one from interrupting their moment, as the others quietly spied from behind one of the dressing areas. That got Shizuku even more flustered.
“But why, Ayumu-senpai? Shizuko, what are you two doing?” She asked, once again. Then, when no one answered, she loudly gasped. “Don’t tell me you’re trying to upstage me again! Senpai, are you plotting something to make her win?? Senpai, you should be on Kasumin’s side!!”
“KasuKasu, let’s go for a walk, okay?”
“Ai-senpai, why? I don’t feel like walking! U-Uh? Why are you dragging me away? Shizuko!!”
“…So, where is that schedule? I wanted to check when each of you is going to go up on stage…” said the club president.
The moment was broken, and everyone slowly went back to getting ready. They helped each other with their hair and make-up, tension visibly down after Kasumi’s outburst, and they assembled the props they might need for their individual live shows; specifically, Kanata’s small replica of a bed. Shizuku thought it would take them at least an hour to get it together, but considering it wasn’t a real bed made for real sleep, assembling it was much easier, granted it wasn’t as stable as a real bed should’ve been.
While they tried to stop Kanata from destroying her prop by taking a quick nap on it, a staff member came by to tell everyone to finish getting ready: the competition was about to start. As if on cue, everyone started looking nervous again.
“Alright… I guess I will see you guys from the audience. I have a front-row seat.”
“It’s true, you will be cheering us on… I hope I see you in the audience, that would make me less nervous!”
“Ayumu, I’m sure you’ll do great! As will all of you. You practiced so hard, and I honestly believe you have what it takes to bring this home. I will be supporting you as hard as I can!”
“Ah-ah, that’s our club president, alright. You made my anxiety disappear with your pep talk.”
“Senpai, make sure you watch me closely! I want to know everything you loved about Kasumin’s performance!”
“Ah-ah, sure, Kasumi. I will look at all of you closely.”
After giving them one last look, the upperclassman opened the door and gently waved before making her way to the audience. Shizuku could’ve sworn their eyes met for a second. She had no time to think about it though, as they were all about to head to the backstage as well. It was time.
“I want to be one who can bring a smile to someone else,
but most of all, I want to bring a smile to you.”
All ten members of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club were behind the stage along with all the other participants, anxiously waiting for the results to be announced.
All their performances had gone well, and they hadn’t made a single mistake; in fact, Shizuku thought hers was her best performance yet. Regardless of that fact, she felt as nervous as ever; however, she knew that wasn’t entirely because of the competition. When she was on stage, she had not only been able to spot her senpai, but she made eye contact with her more than once; one might have said she directly sung her song to her. Nevertheless, her senpai hadn’t mentioned it at all, and she didn’t seem to have caught on the fact that the heavy words Shizuku had written from her heart were, in fact, all about her.
Decided to take her mind off the hurtful thoughts, she looked over to the other members, who looked just as nervous as she was.
Every single one of them was special and unique in some way. Ai was outgoing and her puns were sure to cheer you up at any time; Setsuna was a school idol and the student council president, she had never seen anyone work quite as hard as she did or, for the matter, love something as much as she did. Kasumi liked to put up a big fight about how she was the cutest and they were all her rivals, but deep down, she really cared about her upperclassmen and the school idol club. Heck, she had stayed behind all by herself to wait for the other members to come back, and she had fought all by herself to make sure the club wasn’t shut down. Rina had a hard time expressing her emotions, but she tried her hardest and her Rina-chan board was an incredibly cute and ingenious device. Karin was the best-looking girl she had ever laid eyes on in her entire life, and she was also a caring and nice upperclassman. Emma was the most caring one of the group by far, she made everyone feel at home with her reassuring smiles and she had quite the appetite. Kanata was always sleepy, but she always came through when the situation required it, and she loved her little sister more than anything in the entire world. Last but not least, Ayumu was someone you could always count on, she was sweet and treasured her friends the most.
And Shizuku? She wasn’t sure about what made her special before, but after endless days of practice at the theatre club, and then more practice by herself in the hallways, she found out. Or at least, she thought she had found out.
Shizuku had the spirit of an actress, and the love of an idol. She had great stage presence and she knew how to tell a story, every performance became so captivating that her audience was pulled from their seats into the story, and she knew just what words to use to make her feelings come across, to make her audience understand. She made good use of the acting techniques she had learnt in the theatre club, but that didn’t mean she loved acting more than she loved being a school idol. The act of loving itself was part of being one; school idols love what they do so deeply, and they shine so brightly, it’s inevitable for their audience to feel that love, too.
Shizuku had always thought that. But until recently, she hadn’t been able to grasp that love, and convey it to her audience the way she wanted to. Then, one day in a deserted hallway, she found just what she had been looking for. And what that love was…
“Oh, it looks like they are about to announce the winner!” The club president exclaimed.
Another pang of nervousness made its way to Shizuku’s chest, and she was unable to hear a single word the conductor was saying until, at the last second…
“And the winner is… Ōsaka Shizuku, representing the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club!”
The world stopped for a second, as all the members jumped around and congratulated Shizuku. In between “We are going to perform on the main stage!”s and “You were so amazing, Shizuku!”s, she didn’t even realize she was crying from happiness.
Everything went really fast after that; they celebrated in their dressing room, they packed up their things, and they went back to their club room to have a second, but proper celebration.
As the party went on, Shizuku started to feel like there was something missing. She knew she should have been feeling happy about winning the competition, of course, and she was! To a degree. However, her mind couldn’t help but drift back to the upperclassman who had stolen her heart; she had seen her have a pretty intense back-and-forth with Ayumu, and ever since then, she had been quietly sitting in a corner of the room by herself. Since Shizuku had been blatantly staring at her the entire time, their eyes inevitably ended up meeting here and there, but the upperclassman always diverted her gaze so fast Shizuku thought she might end up hurting her neck at some point.
Maybe Shizuku had gotten it all wrong, and the older girl had, in fact, understood the meaning of her song. She probably didn’t like her that way, and that was why she was avoiding her now. Had Shizuku actually made her uncomfortable with her attention and her unwavering gaze?
She started feeling sick. She had to get out of there.
Unable to contain her feelings, she made up an excuse and headed for the hallway. She walked all the way to the theatre club in an attempt to calm down, but when her eyes landed on a special spot, the tears started spilling out again. It was that one hallway. The place her and her senpai had first met. Had her legs subconsciously brought her there?
“Shizuku! I finally found you…”
She quickly dried her tears. What was She doing there? Had she followed her out? She turned around and indeed, there she was, hands in her pockets, nervously looking left and right, everywhere but directly at Shizuku.
“W-what is it, senpai?” Shizuku said, failing to hide her emotions.
“I, uh… I just saw you storm out, and I wanted to see if everything was okay…”
Shizuku smiled bitterly. Of course, that was all it was.
“I’m fine, I just…” it took her a second to recall the excuse she had given the girls before she left. “I needed to use the restroom.”
“Oh, I see.” The other girl replied, still unconvinced. A second of awkward silence passed, and she decided against pressing Shizuku on the subject. “I wanted to congratulate you, by the way; I realized I still hadn’t. Your performance was… beyond outstanding. Your lyrics were beautiful.”
“Thank you, senpai… it means a lot to hear you say that, but I really have to go.” Shizuku chuckled drily and turned around abruptly, without waiting for a reply. Unable to stand the upperclassman’s presence any longer, she started walking.
Just as Shizuku reached the end of the hallway and was about to turn the corner, her feet were brought to a sudden stop.
“I want more!”
What was that? Had she said it out loud? Had she imagined it? It took a second for her brain to register the fact that she was not the one who had spoken, and that the words had come from someone else. She turned around once again, and almost fell back from shock when she found herself face to face with the girl who had been occupying all of her thoughts and torturing her heart.
“What…?” “I said I want more!” Repeated the older girl, without letting Shizuku finish. She paused for a moment to take a short breath, as if she was bracing herself for something. “I heard your lyrics. I listened, like you asked. I don’t want you to be just a kōhai; you… you are not just another underclassman to me.”
Shizuku felt like she could faint at any moment; her legs were shaking, her throat felt dry and she clutched her shirt with both hands, as she listened. What was happening?
“When I heard your song I… I knew you felt the same way as I do, but… I guess I was just scared. I didn’t know how to talk to you about it, how do you even approach a subject like that? And I was afraid you were going to tell me I just misunderstood or something. But I don’t want to hide it anymore; I like you, Shizuku… I think I’m in love with you. I don’t want to be just a senpai to you, and I don’t want you to be just a kōhai.”
Shizuku didn’t know where she found the strength to do what she did next, it was like her feet moved on their own; in one motion, she stepped forward and hugged the girl standing in front of her, who awkwardly reciprocated.
“I don’t want to be just an underclassman to you, either.” Shizuku said, her voice muffled by the embrace. “I have feelings for you too, senpai. A-and I…” she stumbled over her words, she didn’t know if it was the anxiety or the happy tears. “I was hoping you would notice… that you would listen… to my song.”
They stayed there for a while, hugging, and then laughing and talking, hand in hand, in that familiar spot, the place where they had found love. Shizuku felt like she was on cloud nine, her heart fluttering every time her eyes met her girlfriend’s. Girlfriend. She still couldn’t believe she would get to call her that, now. It was like the perfect ending to Shizuku’s play, her quest finally fulfilled, and she would now get to spend days of eternal happiness in her lover’s embrace.
It might have been a little cheesy, but Shizuku felt just like one of those heroines she was used to playing, the ones who find true love and live happily ever after. But she wasn’t just any heroine; she was your ideal heroine. And that fact alone was more than enough to make her happy.
“May I, one day, become your ideal heroine…
I'm bad at ad lib-ing, so lead me through with a nice scenario.
The lines I memorized over and over just don't come when I look in your eyes.
So, for now, please let me perform beside you simply as a junior partner.”
“Ouch! You stepped on my foot…”
“Ssh! They’ll hear us!”
“I can’t believe they are finally together… I worked so hard to make it happen…”
“What do you mean, Ayumu-senpai?”
“Ah-ah, you were the only one who didn’t notice, KasuKasu!”
“My name’s not KasuKasu, call me Kasumin!”
“Ayumu-chan, are you crying?”
“Just a little bit!”
“They are so sweet… we should leave them alone now, though. We can congratulate them tomorrow.”
“You are right, Karin-senpai. Back to the clubroom, everyone! This is not over, we have to start preparing for the School Idol Festival now!”
Aye-aye, student council president…”
“Right, the School Idol Festival…” Ayumu snuck one last glance at the happy couple. She looked at the face of her childhood friend, her best friend in the whole world; her eyes were light up, no trace of anything but happiness and love in her gaze. She smiled. “Thank you, Shizuku.”

Who You Actually Are (Osomatsu-san: Choromatsu x Reader Part 1)
Chapter 3:
Erotomania
Author: Roro (halfeviltotty)
Fandom: Osomatsu-san
Pairing: Choromatsu x reader
Category: character study,
Rating: T - for sad times
Summary: Love as an obsession.
Word count: man idk like 5200+
Warnings: asshole behavior, obsession, NOT A YANDERE STORY, rejection, todomatsus a big character in it, mental illness
Commentary: so this one was actually quite hard for me to write tbh. the other ones ive projected my experience in, and while i have actually had erotomania my situation did not align with this scenario and thus it might not be as accurate. also while i dont like choro that much no more i tried not to let that bleed too deeply into the story itself. choromatsu is definitely a huge asshole at first but idk i think the pay off is worth it! do not @ me for the amount of todomatsu involvement.

Choromatsu Part 2
Tumblr media
It starts out innocently enough, doesn’t it?
When admiration turns into affection, when affection shifts into fondness, when fondness morphs into infatuation, when infatuation changes into consumption, when consumption leaves a taste for obsession, when obsession makes mania overtake your senses, when mania leaves you guilty, when that guilt shields you from the wrong doing of lust.
When the shield of guilt warps into psychosis.
When psychosis lies and says it’s love.
When reality drops through the floor and leaves nothing left connected to the actual world outside of the concert venue.
Choromatsu starts off semi-normal, he’s a man in his twenties who has never dated before. It’s okay for him to practice with romantic fantasies with fictional characters, a lot of people do actually. People with spouses and children and productive lives do it too. It’s normal.
A light novel character Choromatsu likes is his first object of devotion. Then he moves to another, and another like a moth chewing holes through sweaters. That pit inside of him isn’t getting full.
Karamatsu eyes the light novel skeptically, “Isn’t she young?” Karamatsu asks critically. “In the first series, yeah. I’m more interested in her in the third series after the 2nd time-skip.” Choromatsu says pointing at his shrine.
“Karamatsu-niisan, Momoko-chan’s cute when she’s young but not like that.” Karamatsu frowns and drops the subject but after that point seems to be wary around Choromatsu’s anime merch. Like he’s judging Choromatsu for something he hadn’t done. There’s a perception of Choromatsu that isn’t accurate.
Karamatsu skips past Totoko’s entry in their high school year book and covers her picture. “Let me see?” Choromatsu asked and Karamatsu reluctantly places the book down.
“Karamatsu, you’re being weird. Totoko-chan is a minor in this picture, don’t you know that’s a crime?” Choromatsu side-eyes his brother and closes the book.
After all Choromatsu does like Totoko, but not her as a child.
When thinking about Totoko - Choromatsu’s shared childhood friend she’s has always been someone Choromatsu adores. She’s so cute and violent, and Choromatsu would never do anything that would make Totoko-chan actually hate him. He would teeter close, but Choromatsu always proves himself useful in the end. The pit says that’s not right, it’ll do for now but no. It’s still not full.
There’s an idol that Choromatsu sees in passing. First Osomatsu ruins his meeting with her but she didn’t seem to hate Choromatsu. Didn’t post on her Twitter about him or his shitty eldest brother. Nyaa-chan thanked her supporters and Choromatsu fell in love. That was Nyaa-chan’s first message to Choromatsu.
Thousands of yen poured into buying Nyaa-chan, he has to own every single piece of merch with her face. He has multiple copies. Choromatsu keeps running into her which feeds the delusion that Nyaa-chan loves him back.
Then Choromatsu finds out, Nyaa-chan is attracted to his face. Just not his personality, in fact she’s attracted to the one of his brothers he would hate the most. Stupid Osomatsu! Why him and not Choromatsu?! Is it because Osomatsu is an alcoholic?! Because he’s shitty and openly a pervert?! Should Choromatsu be an open pervert?
Or is it because of this burden that’s attached itself to Choromatsu?
Bright eyes and a bubbly voice, you’d be perfect if Choromatsu felt even an inkling of attraction towards you. All at once Choromatsu has to focus attention on repelling you as you stalk him.
“Haha haa, look Choromatsu is getting a taste of his own medicine!” Osomatsu laughs with the mean-spiritedness of a child.
“Choromatsu-niisan, you should be happy a girl likes you that much! Don’t be ungrateful, I’d kill to have a girl follow me around like that.” Todomatsu scolds him rudely, “When she realizes what a piece of shit loser you are you’re going to regret not at least having sex once.”
As if that’s the issue!
Every time Choromatsu steps out of the house there you are sitting on the bench.
“Choro-chaan!” You call out, “Look, look! I’m wearing the same long sleeve as you! We’re twins!” Your voice is affected, Choromatsu can tell you’re straining to sound cuter than you actually are.
You wave around a poster in his face, one of Choromatsu kissing you. He pushes it away, “Go home.” Choromatsu tells you already annoyed. Why couldn’t you be a cute girl instead, Choromatsu mentally laments.
You’re a lot shorter than him which would make it awkward to kiss. You weigh probably twice as much as him which would make it hard to pick you up, you’re not even sexy-fat which is a huge disappointment. Your curves don’t appeal to him, Todomatsu’s the one into thighs, not Choromatsu. Your bust is too awkward of a size, he doesn’t like your double-chin, and you should start wearing your glasses again because Choromatsu hates seeing you walk into windows. Your hair isn’t dyed a color he likes, after all it’s not like Choromatsu picked green by choice!
“Let’s go on another date today, Choro-chan! I just got back from my doctor’s appointment so I really want to hang out with you today, I’m feeling a bit lonely.” You follow him like you’re floating on air. Your soft voice grates his ears.
“Ah, really. Get well soon but I want to remind you that we’ve never been on a date and never will. Go home.” Choromatsu doesn’t slow down his pace or glance at you, not for a second even when you struggle with those stubby legs to keep up. You sound fine and you’re energetic enough to chase after Choromatsu. You should use that energy to recover. “Don’t you have a job or something to be at?” Choromatsu rolls his eyes.
“No, I can’t handle people yelling at me very well. I’m really sensitive actually. And don’t forget we’ve been on tons of dates already, plus I saw what you posted about me last night! So romantic!”
What the hell are you talking about?
“What? You’re delusional.” Choromatsu shouldn’t have asked.
“I wrote a post about you first and you posted that tweet about your true love!” You gush twirling your ultra long hair. Choromatsu can see it in the corners of his eyes. Why even grow it that long, you’re not Rapunzel.
“That wasn’t about you, it was about Nyaa-chan. I have never tweeted about you and never will. Stop following me and go home.” Choromatsu’s true love just so happened to be taking selfies at Chibita’s with the caption ‘Wish you were here with me.’
Choromatsu wanted to give up his love for Nyaa-chan but how could he when she keeps saying such sweet things to him. Now he just has to get rid of this nuance before Nyaa-chan misunderstands.
Obsessive and delusional people like you bother people who are attuned with reality. It’s sad but Choromatsu gets why you’re attracted to someone normal like himself.
After a few paces Choromatsu doesn’t hear you bothering him anymore and when he turns around he cheers because he gave you the slip.
“Score 1 for Choromatsu!”
The next day when Choromatsu leaves the house you’re not waiting for him. It’s a bit surprising but lucky for him! You’ll probably find him while he’s out anyways like you always do.
Choromatsu runs his errands with anxiety because he’s been out for several hours and you can appear at any second. When he rushes home without seeing you once Choromatsu feels relieved.
The next time Choromatsu goes out with his brothers Jyushimatsu asks, “Where’s Choromatsu-niisan’s girlfriend?” while looking around.
“Jyushimatsu, she isn’t my girlfriend.” Choromatsu says loudly. “I don’t like that type of girl at all, I like cute girls! Like Nyaa-chan and Totoko-chan.” Choromatsu watches his brothers pale, “She’s really big isn’t she? And her voice is sort of annoying, not at all adorable like Nyaa-chan’s! She’s also trying too hard, I like girls I can chase after but she’s too easy. Girls like that are the worst, right? Plus she’s insane so I wouldn’t ever date someone like that. Oh well,”
Choromatsu sighs loudly, “I get it because I am irresistible, but don’t worry even though I’m popular now I won’t leave you guys behind. I have my pride after all.”
“What’s with this atmosphere?” Choromatsu looked at Karamatsu, “What’s wrong Karamatsu-niisan?” Who then turned away. “Ichimatsu?” Ichimatsu pulled his hoodie over his eyes and shook his head.
As he spoke Choromatsu’s brothers shrank up and smiled awkwardly. Todomatsu creeped a bit past Choromatsu while making shushing sounds.“Totty, what are you doing?” Choromatsu finally looked behind him and there you were.
“Ah, there you are. Go home.” Choromatsu says casually.
When you meet his eyes you don’t wail or burst into screaming tears, you don’t react violently or anything. You just scrub your eyes and smile at him painfully.
“H-hey, heyy… It’s alright Namae-chan… Choromatsu-niisan was just joking. We all think you’re really pretty,” Todomatsu tries to pacify you by smoothing down your ridiculously long hair.
“I wasn’t.” Choromatsu tells you. “I don’t like you, leave me alone.” and begins to walk away.
Once Choromatsu turns his back to you he can hear his brothers attempt to console you, which they probably shouldn’t waste their time on. He could understand if you were pretty or something but someone like you?
You’re probably used to this sort of treatment anyways, after all you’re the one who’s the problem and refuses to look at yourself critically.
When Choromatsu’s brothers get home he’s jumped and then scolded by the group for being so callous.
“That was low even for you, Choromatsu.” Ichimatsu whispers under his breath. “Choromatsu-niisan, you’re supposed to reject girls gently!” Jyushimatsu says with his sleeve covering his mouth.
“C'mon, Choromatsu. She’s not that bad. I think she’s cute, right Karamatsu?” Osomatsu looks at Karamatsu. “She’s ugly, and you’d fuck anything with legs Osomatsu.” Choromatsu groans loudly.
“I think she’s cute.” Karamatsu says and the group agrees.
“Then you date her.” Why do they even care?
“Do you really mean that, Choromatsu-niisan?” Todomatsu asks who has been suspiciously quiet the whole time. He’s tapping on his phone like he’s disinterested in the conversation.
“Of course I do! I’d pay one of you to get her to leave me alone.”
With those words Todomatsu looks up with relief. “Okay!” Then he goes back to texting on his phone with a small smile.
“Why? It’s not like you’re going to ask her out.” Yeah this is suspicious. If Todomatsu is going to pretend to date you in order to make Choromatsu jealous it won’t work.
“Huh? Why wouldn’t I?” Todomatsu tilts his head, “I mean you don’t like her and if she’s attracted to you she’s probably attracted to any of us, right? It’d be like a transfer of ownership.” Todomatsu sets down his phone now.
“She’s a person, not a car Todomatsu.” Choromatsu rolls his eyes, “You can’t be serious.”
“But I like her and you don’t. Why wouldn’t I ask her out?” Choromatsu looks at his brothers for back up.
“Can I ask her out too?” Ichimatsu points to himself, “Nono, Ichimatsu-niisan! I’m asking her out. I said it first.” Todomatsu waves him off. “Heh, I’ll throw my hat in the ring - Namae-chan get ready to convert into a Karamatsu girl!”
“Karamatsu-niisan, I just said I was asking her out!” Todomatsu protests. “Jyushimatsu do you wanna ask her out too?” Osomatsu grins, “Yeah!”
“I don’t get why any of you would want to. She’s ugly and fat and isn’t even sexy.”
Todomatsu turns to look Choromatsu dead in the eyes. “Who isn’t? Namae-chan is my ideal type, I mean she’s got to have really good belly button wrinkles. Plus when I saw her cry today it really made me want to protect her. Ahh, do you think she’ll wait for me outside everyday? I was so jealous watching her I kept thinking 'I know it’s bad but what if a girl was that obsessed with me? What would I do? How could I keep her that way forever?’ It’s such a turn on knowing someone only has eyes for you, not to mention the ego boost!”
Choromatsu watches his brothers nod in agreement. “You’re glorifying mental illness, Todomatsu.”
Todomatsu spins hugging himself, “When I make her mine she won’t even remember your name, Choromatsu-niisan!” Then Todomatsu runs over and shakes Choromatsu’s hands.
“Thank you, Choromatsu-niisan!” And with that Todomatsu skips out of the room with his phone in hand.
A few hours pass with Choromatsu rereading the same two sentences of Cherry Boy’s monthly and cannot parse them. Suddenly all of his brothers rush to the window.
“That dry monster wasn’t kidding! Isn’t it too soon to do this? Has he no shame?!” Ichimatsu curses, “I was going to wait at least three days.”
“No fair, Totty!”
“Shit, he got the drop on us.” Osomatsu watches with a bored glare, “Well if any of us had a real shot it’d be him.”
“She’s not going to go out with him because she’s obsessed with me, but let me see.” Choromatsu makes his way to the window and looks down. There you are sitting next to Todomatsu on the bench.
You’re not wearing green, your glasses are back on and your hair is a natural shade again. If Choromatsu strains his ears he can hear most of the conversation.
“Did you redye your hair?” Todomatsu asks politely, “No. I was too afraid to bleach it myself and my hair is really long so I can’t afford to have it done professionally… I just used hair chalk because it was cheaper. Maybe I should get it cut soon.”
Choromatsu watches as Todomatsu takes a lock of your hair and twirls it between his fingers. “It’s very beautiful though, it’d be a shame to cut it.” Choromatsu is flabbergasted when Todomatsu k-ki-kisses your hair!!
Todomatsu looks up and makes eye contact with Choromatsu. A small smirk plays on his face before it shifts into something genuinely nice. Then Todomatsu is back focused on you.
“Thank you.” You fidget for a bit.
“So, Namae-chan could you tell me what you like about Choromatsu?”
Your body tenses, “I actually don’t know. It’s like one day I saw him and wanted to be with him forever. I couldn’t stop thinking about him and then talking about him and then all at once I was in love.” You started tugging at your sleeves.
“I’ve been talking about him in therapy for a while, my therapist says I don’t know him well enough to be in love. And she said judging by his words he doesn’t love me. We’ve been doing a treatment plan and I didn’t believe that would work or that was true but after we ran through it she told me that if he says it in front of other people when I’m not around then to listen.”
Todomatsu puts an arm around your shoulder and you lean into his embrace. Choromatsu feels envious for some reason, “I might not be Choromatsu-niisan but I’m the next best thing in the looks department, plus I think you’re so cute.”
You turn to look at him, “I know this is sudden but will you go out with me?”
Choromatsu walks away from the window.
A few days later there’s a familiar sight, Choromatsu exits the house and there you are at the bench waiting for him. Your eyes light up behind your new pink frames and then quickly settle into disappointment. That disappointment becomes quiet dispair.
“Oh, you’re back? Go ho -…?” Before Choromatsu could finish his statement he looks down at outfit. Your hair is tied up and styled in its natural color, and your sweater is peach colored with a cream croptop, black shorts and pink thigh high socks. Your accessories are pastel and colorful.
There’s an absence of green however. But that’s not the issue because you suddenly stand up with a shy smile and seemingly walk towards Choromatsu. Just when Choromatsu was about to tell you to stay back he hears your name being called.
“Y/n-rin~!” Todomatsu pushes Choromatsu out of the way and runs over to you.
“You look so cutee, did you get all dressed up for me? Didn’t I ask you to meet me at the station?” Todomatsu smiles at you gleefully holding your hands.
“I couldn’t wait to see you because I…”
You look down nervously and place a small present in Todomatsu’s now free hand. “I got this for you. Um for our first d-date.” Why are you acting so shy with Todomatsu? You were so loud before, what you’re trying a different tactic with his brother?
It’s just a stupid phone charm, Choromatsu thinks while picking himself up. It’s not even something Todomatsu would like, look at his face.
“I love it! Thank you soo much, Y/n-rin! I’ll treasure it always! Let’s go, okay?” Your awkward smile is sorta cute. Todomatsu attaches it to his phone instantly.
Todomatsu pulls you away and you haven’t looked at Choromatsu again once.
This happens a few more times except you’ve been pointedly avoiding the Matsuno resistance. Choromatsu keeps seeing you in places, it’s not like like he’s looking to find you either. It’s just suddenly Choromatsu wants to go that that cafe, and the mall, and the pet store, if Choromatsu sees you at the art museum it’s just a coincidence and if Choromatsu accidentally runs into you waiting for his youngest brother it’s not weird if he tries to strike up a conversation.
After all you’re just doing this to make Choromatsu jealous.
It’s not working though, after all Choromatsu doesn’t even think about you.
He hasn’t thought about how you stayed so strong after being rejected so much and how much Choromatsu admires that resilience. Choromatsu doesn’t feel affection when remembering your smile, nor does he fondly reminisce when looking at the gifts you gave him. He definitely isn’t infatuated nor consumed by thoughts of you.
He can tell because Todomatsu is baiting him because his annoying youngest brother would announce where he was going to take you next for a while after bragging about his dates. When Todomatsu stopped that, Choromatsu started visiting places you invited him repeatedly to.
Todomatsu foolishly lost his cellphone so it’s not weird that Choromatsu would meet up with him on his date after Choromatsu found it. It’s also not weird that Choromatsu would text you, after all Choromatsu is a kind brother.
“Ah, Namae-san.” Choromatsu calls out to you casually and you don’t look up. Instead you keep texting Todomatsu and looking at your watch with anxiety. When you send the message Choromatsu’s pocket dings. You look up at him with an awkward smile. It’s kind of cute.
“Good afternoon.” You peer behind him and Choromatsu takes a good look at you, you’re wearing more pinks.
“Is Todomatsu with you?” You strain your neck more. “I thought I heard his phone so…?”
Choromatsu fishes it out of his pocket, “It’s right here. He lost it so I was going to return it to him.” Your smile becomes stranger but doesn’t look happy.
“Couldn’t you have given it to him at hom -”
“Do you not like green anymore?” Choromatsu cuts you off with the question. “You haven’t worn anything green in a while and I thought you said it was your favorite.”
You shrink up and put your head down, “I don’t look good in green.” Your hands are balled up until you look up hopefully into Choromatsu’s eyes.
“I think you do.” Choromatsu starts before you cut him off, “But I look great in pink!” You look past him and shoot up when you see Todomatsu jogging towards you.
Choromatsu watches as you both hug and share a brief kiss. That should be Choromatsu kissing you. “Give me my phone back, Choromatsu-niisan.” Todomatsu snatches the device out of Choromatsu’s hand.
Choromatsu goes on another soul finding journey that same day and the resounding advice he got was go to therapy. So when he returns to Akatsuka ward that’s what Choromatsu does. He can’t stay under the same roof as Todomatsu or else he might become violent so Choromatsu finds a job with company housing.
With his male therapist Choromatsu grieves and talks about his own inadequacies, vents and builds a strong foundation with him. Choromatsu’s given a low dose antipsychotic which he takes diligently.
Choromatsu began therapy with the idea there’s nothing wrong with him, and his therapist seems inclined to agree. Or at least treats Choromatsu like he’s normal and well adjusted.
“Matsuno-san, we’ve been working together for a while so I want to know if I can tell you what I think?” Tsubasa says to Choromatsu after writing down a series of notes.
“Ah? Go ahead then.” Choromatsu braces himself mentally for the worst.
“I have several things I want to point out here and please tell me if these statements feel accurate from your point of view.” Tsubasa picks his pen back up.
“You put a lot of energy into how you want to be seen, right?” Tsubasa waits for Choromatsu to articulate his answer.
“I mean doesn’t everybody? I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t want to be seen in a good light. Everyone wants to put their best foot forward and be liked by as many people as possible. It’s better to cast a wide net and be popular than not.” Choromatsu fiddles with his company cell phone and the charm attached to it. It’s not a smart phone but Choromatsu doesn’t need something like that anyways.
“I think that’s true to a certain degree. Once I get a broader picture I’ll tell you what I think in a moment.” Tsubasa scribbles many notes on his paper quickly.
“You’ve mentioned feeling in competition against all of your brothers several times, is it because you felt that they had some trait you lacked? And did you feel inadequate and less popular because of it?”
Choromatsu has to stop himself from cussing Tsubasa out again, instead he swallows down the curses and counts backwards from ten. When he’s finished Choromatsu opens his mouth and promptly shuts it. Slap the rubberband now Choro-chan or else he might try to punch Tsubasa. The hell kind of question even is that?
The rubberband smacks his skin once and Choromatsu feels a bit better. It hurts him but it reminds Choromatsu a punch would hurt more and the consequences would not work in Choromatsu’s favor.
With gritted teeth Choromatsu breathes in and Tsubada watches tentatively with the physical distance between them greater than before.
“I’ve always been compared to my brothers. Everything we do, everything we wear, the people we know, everything. We’re a set so if one of us is better at something than the others isn’t it for the best to drag him back into place? None of us are allowed to stand out and we shouldn’t want to.” Choromatsu sighs and puts his head in his arms.
“But…?” Tsubasa asks and this question makes Choromatsu cry.

ABOUT ME
Hachi ✨ 20 ✨ She/Her ✨ 🇵🇭 ✨ INFJ 6w5
Hello, I’m Hachi! I'm a full-time freelance illustrator on Fiverr, and I hopefully plan to branch out in other artistic areas in my life! Expect me to dump all of my artistic interests over here : #hachichiart
I also have a children’s picture e-book that I self-published on Amazon. I made it as a requirement for my high school thesis, so while the art there is definitely a representation of my past, I still stand by the message I was trying to send. I hope to eventually branch out this series in a form of a webcomic of sorts, for people who can’t afford to purchase my e-book for financial reasons. These characters are extremely dear to me, and I can’t wait to expound on them when I have the time lmao. Here’s a tag regarding the series: #behindtheartistichand
Some note-worthy things to mention, this blog is generally 15+, but I do make sure to tag any NSFW content and general triggers out there. I often post and retweet adult animation, so I’d say tread carefully if you’re a minor. I’m also critical with the media I consume, but most of the time, I like to talk about why I like something rather than why I hate it. I just find it more fun to expound on the positives of my favorite things. I also don’t take everything seriously.
Please let me know privately if I did or say anything wrong. Sometimes I say things without meaning to, and I’m not the brightest crayon in the box, so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. If you take offense with anything I posted, just send a polite DM and explain why it offended you so I can be educated regarding the subject. I’m also available for any questions, DMs and a genuine chit-chat.

Random question
Do you think their relationship (jh and do) will become toxic? Although lately their relationship looks good and even seen a lot on camera unlike the previous year. Will the relationship go smoothly? Or will it turn toxic?
The bigger and longer the relationship, the more love will be lost which turns into love between families. Are they able to distinguish the love between families they have with their love with other members?
Then will their relationship become toxic for themselves, considering that both of them are stubborn and have a fairly high sense of possessiveness. Will their relationship remain healthy in the future?
Then do you feel that lately Do has been showing a lot of openness about his relationship? Even though jh and do have the same insta vibes but lately, do really like posting the vibes that jh posted first. Likewise with the two tiktoks randomly showing their private tiktok only a few days later. Is there any chance of them announcing their relationship later? Even though in South Korea the relationship is still pros and cons.
Sorry, maybe you are dizzy reading my consecutive and not coherent questions. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
I think whether JaeDo part will depend on the life circumstances. I can see a scenario where they can decide it is better to break up, however, I also think that fans and fanfic writers are too keen on this idea (due to JaeDo's on public "divorce").
JaeDo are long past the strictly lust phase when chemicals change the brain and perception of the partner, they are already at the "familial" stage. Many smart and art-oriented people function as life partners (from "partnership", doing something together for mutual benefit, towards one goal).
Both Jae and Do have parents who are still married. Therefore they have this example of a happy marriage and can always consult "pros", i.e. their parents for relationship advice. Doyoung met a couple who rekindled their love after husband's illness on MITH. He has a lot of opinions about the marriage (for example, kids shouldn't be born to be a tool for their parents to feel happy). He is a planner.
A marriage is a thing that needs investment and care. However, that's something the two are good at. Their idol live taught them both how to understand/accept others and how to overcome hardships. As well as the value of the help and support from friends.
I think many shippers look at JaeDo as a circumstational couple. You know, how people in small towns marry someone from their school for lack of choice. Therefore, they think that with time the relationship accumulate problems. However, JaeDo are together despite the circumstances.
There were many divorces during Covid because married couples had to spend a lot of time together in their flats, and interact, and get on each other's nerves, and find out that they can't stand each other for a prolonged time instead of a few hours in the morning and in the evening.
JaeDo spend 24/7 together, and only get stronger. Their compatibility was tested many times. They already went through many obstacles (2017 and Jae's broken heart, Taeyong as Do's bff planning to stay forever by his side, Do's burn out, Jae's scandal and cancellation of acting projects, the tensions among 127 neos during the pandemic, the whole hiding, fake ships, solo stans, and all the irritation it brings).
JaeDo are not a young couple, they have been together for almost 10 years. A crush is also "romantic feelings and fixation", so it counts.
I do have fun with Jae's jealousy, while Do's possesiveness is what makes him betray himself and is worth attention, as such I bring them up often. However, the relationship has a huge amount of warmth, trust and mutual understanding, and that's what long-lasting couples always possess.
I think JaeDo cancel each other's potentially toxic traits nicely. For example, Jaehyun needs praise and cheering on, and Doyoung gives it freely without asking for something in return, he will never gaslight or belittle. Doyoung needs well expressed loyalty, and Jaehyun isn't one to have eyes for others and flirt for the fun of it. Jaehyun gets jealous easily, but Doyoung actually isn't a social butterfly and he knows how to demonstrate how much Jae matters with big or small gestures.
In short. Anything can happen in the future, but JaeDo are a couple made for a success and not an inevitable disaster.
Doyoung has been more open for many months now. The recent events are just fresh on memory.
Who knows, SK is changing fast. Maybe in 10 years it will be possible for celebreties to come out and preserve their job. And maybe k-pop fans will get used to the idea of their oppas getting partners.
Smitten with each other.

the boy in the bookstore (part one)
Tumblr media
in which you meet a suspiciously handsome boy in your favorite bookstore- but are not cultured enough to know his true identity.

yeosang x (fem) reader
word count: 1.5k
g: fluff, angst if you’re a sensitive bitch
warnings: none really, light kissing and possible innuendo in later parts
notes:
there are a few things that may turn inconsistent for you personally (aka the POV being american, bilingual, etc. nothing major tho!)
also: if you enjoyed this, i am 100% looking for requests. can be aus, scenarios, or whatever! (atm i can write for atz, skz, bts, and itzy)
happy reading!!
part one
the morning of november 12th is a dreary one. when you wake up, you have little to no motivation to go to work. it's a downcast, rainy day, and seoul looks as sad as it's probably capable of looking.
work is slow. you work on your current project, but writing today feels like this: you write out a sentence. then you delete it. and then you rewrite the exact same sentence. you do this for eight hours, and by the end of it, the air seems thick with your desire to leave.
as you leave the building, a few coworkers try to spark conversation.
“oh, y/n-ssi, you should come have soju with us later, we-”
“hey, y/n! do you want to-”
you don't let any of them finish. today had not been not your day. actually, when was the last time any day had been “your day?” you are exhausted, burnt out. you miss your family, who are busy living halfway across the world. you miss your father, long dead after a tragic accident when you were young. you miss the fleeting friendships of your childhood. you miss what it felt like to have someone greet you as you came home after a long day. you miss being loved.
as you begin your long walk home, a thought occurs to you. when had you last visited the bookshop? it had probably been a while since you’d seen mrs. seon… maybe you should stop by. after all, a trip to the 30 year old bookshop might brighten your mood.
twenty minutes later, you shuffle awkwardly through the front doors of “bookshop”, careful not to get your dripping shoes too close to the new releases. and yes, the store was called “bookshop”. in reality, the store had simply never been named, but everyone who visited it knew it as just the bookshop. you glance around, hoping to find mrs. seon, but she was nowhere in sight. that was alright though… more time to browse. you scrape the last bits of rain off your boots and wander towards the back of the store. this was your favorite part of the whole establishment, and that was saying something. the whole shop was filled to the brim with battered books- centuries old classics, modern literature, old journals of long dead men… and many of the books were not korean, but european or american. this was possibly the most diverse bookstore in seoul. you adore it. but the back of the store was especially amazing. this was where the seon family kept the american classics. authors like john steinbeck and f. scott fitzgerald lined the shelves, their colorful spines making a bold statement about the content within. most were old, beaten up copies, but many of them were in english- something you secretly love.
letting loose a small smile, you run your fingertips along the book spines. suddenly, you see a blur of movement out of the corner of your eye. you whirl around, swiveling your body to your left. and in front of you, not even six feet away, is a boy. a...a beautiful boy. you feel your breath catch. holy shit, he was gorgeous. pale blond hair frames a sharp, tanned face- the boy has sleek, judging eyes, and higher-than-god-himself cheekbones. for a moment you just stare. you can’t help it. but the boy doesn't look up. you lower your eyes again, shifting your attention back to the books. honestly, you aren't sure why you’d reacted like that. he hadn’t said or done anything. and though he is attractive, you are relatively uninterested. this is a bookstore, after all. this is where people came when they didn’t want to talk to people.
a few minutes pass quietly, and you continue to browse the books. after finally deciding on a collector’s copy of steinbeck’s east of eden, you look up again. and there he is. looking right at you. as soon as your eyes connect with his, though, his shoot back down to the phone in his hand. you blink, wondering if he needs anything.
another beat passes. he glances up again, and this time, you force him to hold your gaze, shooting him a small smile. you see his eyes widen slightly before you turn on your heel and head towards the front of the store.
by the time you reach the checkout counter, an employee is there to assist you. she smiles and makes small talk while bagging your new treasure, then sends you on your way. no longer thinking about the blond boy, you pull up your hood and leave to head home.
only a few minutes had passed since you’d left the store when it happens. you feel odd, like someone is watching you...at first you think you’re imagining things, but as you turn around, you are face to face with the boy from the bookstore. a small gasp escapes your lips.
“oh,” is the first thing he says.
you take a step back. "oh-uh," you stumble to find the right words. "hello."
without a word, the boy straightens his stance and reaches towards you. instantly wary, you take another step back. but his arm stops short. resting in his slim hand is a small brown wallet. wait- your wallet. you hesitate, then begin to dig through your shoulder bag. sure enough, the wallet is absent. you look back up into his brown eyes, startled by the intensity of his gaze.
"you- you dropped this." he says quietly.
his voice also startles you. it has a low pitch, but is painfully soft. it reminds you of something, but you don't know what.
"oh, wow. thank you so much," you manage, reaching for the wallet. as you take it, his long fingers brush yours; the lightest touch. his hands are freezing.
"your hands are so cold!" you remark, surprising yourself. talking to strangers in the street. what have you become, y/n?
the young man's pride must have faltered, and his ears turn an endearing pink color.
"it's getting cold out, you really should wear some gloves or something."
he raises his eyebrows. "you aren't wearing any either."
without missing a beat, you respond: "i run hot."
a smile plays at his lips. "well then, i guess i'll wear gloves next time."
up close, you notice he is even more beautiful than you had anticipated. he wears no visible makeup, and he has a big pink birthmark near one of his eyes. it's mesmerizing. by now, you've completely forgotten about your foul mood from earlier.
"by the way," he continues, still speaking quietly. "are you a regular at that shop?"
you pause. "i guess you could say so. i know the owners pretty well, too. mrs. seon is practically my mom here..." you chuckle.
he tilts his head. "what do you mean?"
"oh, it's just that my own family doesn't live here." you pause, and decide you need to elaborate. "i'm american."
his eyes widen, just the tiniest bit. "oh, are you? i wouldn't have known. your korean is amazing."
"well, it is my first language, so i'd hope so." you laugh a little. "but yeah, my family lives in america. i moved here when i was sixteen- i wanted to be an idol." you admit.
this seems to take him by surprise.
you continue without being prompted. "i was a trainee for a few years, but... it just.. it didn't work out. but when it was over, i realized i just couldn't force myself to leave korea. i love it too much."
he nods. "i think i know what you mean."
"so i'm just a student now. turns out i probably should have planned to go to school even if i had debuted... oops."
he nods again, his face remaining neutral and distant.
realizing how much you had just revealed, your body stiffens. "anyways. um, it was nice meeting you-" you pause. he hadn't told you his name.
"yeosang." he said, reading your mind. "my name is yeosang."
"oh. well, it was nice to meet you, yeosang, but i really should be going."
he hesitates, opening his mouth as if to say something. but he closes it and gives a small smile. "okay."
you give a small bow and turn to leave, but he catches you by the arm. "but wait, i want to know your name, too."
you glance back at him, into his eyes, which are shining with hardly hidden curiosity. "y/n." you say.
"y/n," he repeats, as if committing it to memory. "okay, now you can go."
and with that, the two of you parted, going back home to two very different lives.
edit: part two is up now. thank you for reading!!

@memelix - Spent my day off with my best friend. So glad to finally have time to meet up with him. 😭 But I missed my shop! How are you doing my little flowers? 🌺
Y/N sighed as she saved the image via screenshot. Was it weird to save an image of just a normal, everyday guy on Instagram? Probably. But he was just so unbelievably handsome and funny and talented, how could she not? Lee Felix was a full time employee at Beautiful Blossoms flower shop and probably one of the most hardworking people there.
While his influence was small, he still had a large hand in how popular the shop became. Just a simple scroll through his profile opens a person up to the beauty of floral design - an art really that required a certain set of skills, all of which Felix seemed to be the master of. She found herself to be one of the thousands of people who fell down the rabbit hole of Lee Felix. Like and commenting on all his posts and even attending every Instagram live he did.
She was, in essence, a hopelessly in love fangirl that was actually too shy to see him in real life. The fact she could easily Felix was terrifying to her. The flower shop was only a fifteen minute walk from her house, in the direction of her school.  Feasibly she could pass by it every day if she wanted. But she didn’t, and it wasn’t for her lack of trying. The last time she attempted to visit the beautiful man, she was greeted with a large crowd of pushy females, all vying for the chance to get inside the shop, waste their money on flowers they didn’t even want and hopefully slip their number to the handsome worker. It had been a nightmare, and she had vowed to never attempt to go there ever again (even if she really wanted to).
And for the past five months she had kept that promise, taking alternate routes to get to and from school. But today - today just wasn’t her day. Her alarms never woke her up because the power had gone off sometime that morning. She had forgotten to plug her phone in to charge that night and woke up to a battery that was 15% and only 10 minutes to get ready before she needed to leave the house in order to get to school on time. But that would mean she would have to skip every part of her morning routine and if there was one thing that she wasn’t going to do, it was skip breakfast.
Locking her phone, she slipped it into her pocket as she continued down the sidewalk, cursing herself mentally at knowing she was going to be passing the shop soon. She couldn’t afford to take her normal route - it was too far out of the way. Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts, trying to work out different scenarios in her head of how she would avoid the crowd. Should she cross to the other side of the street? Or maybe skirt around the edge of the crowd and pray a car won’t come speeding down the road and hit her?
Or she could just be rude and force herself through the crowd? No, she couldn’t do that. She wasn’t that mean of a person. Letting out a heavy sigh, she decided that skirting around the crowd was probably the best option. Bracing herself, she turned down the street and was ready to be bombarded with high pitched squealing, but she was greeted with silence. Looking around, she noted how calm and quiet and the sidewalk was. It was empty with the exception of herself and a business man walking a few feet ahead of her.
How odd.
Approaching the flower shop, she hesitated - eyes moving to glance inside. The lights were on, there were people inside but no crazy crowds. What happened? As curious as she was though, she just didn’t have the time to investigate. She was really going to be late and her parents would absolutely kill her if she got detention for it. Shaking her head, she started walking when the bell to the flower shop rang behind her and a voice called out to her.
“Wait!”
Stopping, she turned to look over her shoulder and nearly tripped over her own feet. Staring at her was the very man she had been staring at on Instagram not five minutes ago. Straightening herself, she pointed to herself after giving a quick look around the area.
“Yeah, you.” Felix laughed as he strolled over to her, a wide smile on his face. In his hand was a single yellow rose and once close enough, he held it out to her. “Happy National Flower Day.”
She stared at the rose long and hard, trying to determine if this was some sort of crazy hallucination or something. “Uh...”
“Do you not like roses? I could get you a different flower.” Felix offered and she shook her head quickly, taking the rose from his grasp.
“No I love roses! Thank you.” She said, bowing politely to him. His reply of no problem fell onto deaf ears as she turned and walked away quickly, cheeks ablaze with a bright flush.
She managed to get to school with a minute to spare, rushing to her first class before the bell rang. She couldn’t focus, however, on school. She was more focused on the rose in her hand and Felix, the bright smiling florist that had given it to her because it was national flower day. She has never heard of such a thing, but it probably existed. She was still in shock that she actually got to meet and talk to him. It felt like a dream come true and it was, but she couldn’t help but feel a little weird about the situation. She wasn’t exactly sure why, but something just didn’t sit right with her.
It wasn't until she was on her way home that she finally realized what was giving her such a bad feeling. She had received such a precious - even though a simple flower, it meant so much to her because Felix had given it to her. No he didn't know her and probably didn't know she followed him on Instagram, but nonetheless he had given her a rose, an extension of himself. And the reason she was feeling bad is because she hadn't given him anything in return and she wanted to. She wanted to return his generosity, and as she passed by the local craft store, she got a brilliant idea. After all, it was national flower day.
Fifteen minutes later, she emerged from the craft store with a completed project and left over supplies that she had no choice but to take home with her. Her pace was quick, excitement coursing through her at the thought of giving Felix her gift. Butterflies made themselves known in her stomach as she approached the flower shop, and just like that morning, it wasn't busy at all. The only difference is that Felix was standing outside, a basket of roses on one arm and a warm smile greeting anyone who walked by and spared him a glance. For a moment, she thought about aborting her mission, turning around and running away, and she was very close to following through with thought when her eyes connected with Felix.
Crap! He saw her! Well now she certainly couldn't run away and look like a complete fool in front of her Instagram idol/crush. So she did the only thing she could do. She took a deep breath and walked over to him, trying to convey confidence that she didn't even have.
"Hello again." he greeted, voice smooth like honey with a hint of deepness that left she wanting to hear more.
"Hi." she greeted, a small smile on her lips. Reaching into the bag she was carrying, she pulled out her handmade flower crown adorned with small white roses, a white feather and a few other things she had managed to find in the store. It wasn't perfect by any means, but she was proud of her creation and she was praying that Felix would like it as well. "Happy National Flower Day." Presenting the crown to him, she waited for his reaction, eyes trained on his face and watching for any signs of unhappiness. Thankfully, there was none and when he bent down slightly, she took a step forward and placed the crown carefully on top of his soft, fluffy blond head.
"Thank you, it's beautiful." he said.
"You're welcome! Every flower boy should have his very own flower crown." she told him with a nod.
"Ah true. And now I have my very own, made by..." he trailed off and she flushed, getting the hint rather quickly.
"Y/n! My name is Y/n." she introduced herself, bowing to him again.
"Ah, the pleasure is all mine Y/n. I'm Fel-"
"Felix! Yes I know!"
"You do?" The surprise was evident and she scolded herself for just exposing herself like that. But it was too late to take it back now. So she simply nodded and offered a soft smile. "Twitter or Instagram?"
"You have a Twitter?" she asked, eyes widening.
"Instagram then." Felix concluded with a laugh. "Well then Y/n, on my next post, tag yourself as 'flower crown girl' and I'll be sure to follow you."
"Really?" She was tempted to pinch herself because sure this was a dream. Felix offering to follow her? A nobody? What could she possibly have to offer him other than boring posts about the weather?
"Yeah."
"Okay." she agreed, rather easily too. If this wasn't a dream, she certainly couldn't just let this opportunity pass by. That would just be stupid. "I will. Uh, I should get going though."
"Alright, have a wonderful evening, Y/n. Get home safely."
With a few shaky nods, she found herself once more scurrying away with a bright flush on her cheeks - mind reeling from the events that just took place. She spent the next few hours trying to process and understand everything that had happened, but was still in denial that it even happened. That was, until she got a notification that Felix and posted on Instagram.

@memelix - Happy National Flower day my flowers! Hope you all had a wonderful day!🌺
She stared at the post, admiring how beautiful he looked wearing her flower crown.
Her flower crown.
It had really happened. All of it. It was unbelievable. To be noticed by such a handsome, bright young man like Felix, it really was a dream come true. Biting her bottom lip, she liked the post and sent in her comment, tagging herself as the flower crown girl, just like Felix told her too.
A minute later she received a new notification:
Felix Lee (@memelix) is now following you
Smiling to herself, she sat her phone down on her desk and turned to finish her homework, though her mind kept wandering to thoughts of the future. She was now one step closer to knowing Felix. So many doors have opened up for her and she hoped one of them contained a happy life with Felix.

maki headcannons with a female s/o? thanks! ^^
- Maki may seem like a cold, frustrated girl who doesn’t easily show emotions, but in reality, she’s very soft. She just has to be with the right people. She has a very gorgeous smile, and you’re one of the people lucky enough to see it regularly.
- She loves memes. Seriously. Not a day can ever pass when she hasn’t sent you some incredibly obscure meme that often doesn’t make sense. She also has a bit of a tendency to send ‘respecting women’ and LGBT+ memes.
- She takes artsy photos of you all the time for her Instagram feed. Think pictures of gorgeous orange sunsets with the two of you embracing in front of it and cute pictures of her hand holding yours. She takes her Instagram very seriously.
- Lucky for you, you have a rich girlfriend, so expect lots of extravagant dates at top restaurants and expensive presents. She insists on paying for everything, and if you object, she just uses the ‘Seriously, money isn’t a problem for me’ excuse.
- She writes piano songs for you. She’ll record them and send them to your phone, telling you she wrote it for you, and sometimes she’ll even perform them on stage, dedicated to you.
- What’s even cuter, if you have a favourite song by Muse, she’ll ask if the group can perform it whenever she knows you’ll be watching. She will step to the front of the stage briefly and explain that this is for her beautiful girlfriend.
- She’s very big on punctuality, so make sure to show up in time whenever she invites you somewhere, or she’ll get agitated. Her grumpiness from you being late won’t last though; she’ll just be happy you’re there with her.
- If you don’t already know how, she’ll want to teach you how to play piano. She’s surpisingly patient, so even if you have no muscial abilities whatsoever, somehow, within a few weeks you’ll already be able to play songs as if you’ve been playing so much longer.
